[Tribute’s Train] Rica paused and frowned, turning away from Melanie for a moment. So she had noticed… That was a complication. Galv didn’t want Melanie to know his reasons, or so Rica assumed, since Galv had only spoken to him about it alone. And Rica didn’t want Melanie to know his reason, either. The fact that even after all these years the sour old drunk still had a soft spot for Melanie’s mother… or the fact that Melanie’s age and general appearance made him have to wonder if maybe… He shook his head and for the umpteenth time today wished he had a bottle of vodka clutched in his fist. Instead, he just ran a hand through his hand and turned back to her. “… It’s simple kid, I haven’t had a Victor in a good, long time. I need one of my charges to win this year or the Enclave might decide I’m not as useful as I used to be. And to be blunt, I’ve always treated women better than my fellow men.” You know Rica, if you ARE right in your suspicion, maybe being a colossal a-hole is a bad idea. Just sayin’. […] Kimi paused for a moment and looked over to Shinji. Shinji looked right back at her and slinked his arm around her. “Maaaaybe,” Shinji said coyly. Kimi elbowed him in the chest. Shinji immediately recoiled in pain. “Maybe not.” Kimi replied, crossing her arms. The crowd might assume it was all an act for their amusement, but Kimi was already contemplating the best way to crush Shinji’s skull, and Shinji was contemplating things way worse. |

-The Capitol: Holding Area- Pibb was quiet, then breaking out into a smile, nodding his head to Lavan. “Very good...I will help you then,” Pibb said. “Perhaps you will be able to unite other Tributes together, and fight together...It may be your only chance.” Another smile, though this one seemed a little sad. He did not know if this young man would be able to do what he promised, but if Pibb did not have hope, he would just become a bitter shell of a man, looking solely for revenge. “Then what can I do for you, young warrior?” Pibb asked, “To help you fulfill both your and my dream?” -The District: Small House- Cess frowned as well, rubbing his head. He didn't like the idea of Shimera joining the Rebellion. It simply seemed too dangerous for the girl. “Shimera...” Cess began, stepping forward and placing a hand on the girl, “It's dangerous. Very dangerous. I never told you I was part of the Rebellion because I didn't want to put you in danger. It would be...difficult. And if something goes wrong and you have to leave the Capitol...you might not adjust well...” -New Vegas- Zeke frowned. While the Securitrons in the area would stop the Omertas from outright attacking them, it wouldn't stop them from jumping them outside New Vegas... “Maybe we should listen to them brother,” Zeke said, “I heard the Gommorah is great casino. Lots of girls.” -Tribute's Train- Hammah smiled at Kxs, grinning broadly. He was glad that Kxs seemed to be in a better mood. And he knew that his brother would do whatever he could to save them...But Hammah was ready to make sure Kxs got out if it meant he had to stay behind... “If you think it's a good idea, I can try...” Aiden said, looking nervous still after the kiss, “I don't know what the best thing to do is, anyways...” “...Only one of us gets to survive,” Galv said, after a moment, “It might as well be the cute girl, right?” He gave Melanie a sort of sad smile, “You can name a kid after me if you feel too bad...” |

New Vegas Cole nodded reluctantly. He knew that regardless of his powers, he probably couldn't hold off a lot of well armed gangsters. "Alright. I'll come with you. But let Zeke here come along. Sounds to me like he's a fan. If not just to let him play a card game or two." He elbows Zeke as if to say 'you owe me one.' He moved to follow the Omertas. Tribute's Train "Alright! Then I have a lot to teach you. I wasn't good with dramatics, but I know enough to get you by. Did some studying...you think you can handle it, Shipper?" Shipper saluted him, wide-eyed. Oh how he respected Apollo. "Aye!" "Alright. Let's get started. You two need to devise a story. If you two are going to go in there, you're going to tell them all kinds of things. But you need to make gentle notions that you two are closer than friends." He thinks. "Alright, I know. Shipper, when Ceasar's interviewing you..you take Aiden's hand. Aiden, when he does that, I want you to smile. Look cute for the cameras. If he questions you on it, you're going to make something up. Tell him you liked him from the second you stared into his eyes. Make up some sappy things! Sweet things! And most importantly, do not let the audience doubt for even a second you two aren't a couple. Got it?" |

The Capitol: Holding Area Lavan cackled in a faux-evil manner, rubbing his hands together in anticipation. "I doubt I will be able to band them ALL together. From what I've seen when Gally decided to show me the contestants, there were some rather sleazy types there that I would not want attending their own grandmothers, much less participate in an important event like this. Some of them WILL die. I WILL however fight each and every one of them in turn, and decide where they stand as I do so." He shrugged, bouncing around, loosening himself up for what was about to start. "I learn my opponents by fighting them and kicking ass. Good, bad, evil, nice, maniacal, thorough, logical, emotional... Everything comes forth when life is on the line, and the person's true self shines through. That's how I know people, that's how I find out if they're worth my time or if they're just a WASTE of time." His smirk was widening with every word. "... So I want you to fight me. Fight until I drop, you drop, or we both drop. And then, we rest and fight again. I learn best by going through the motions, not studying the theory. And I want to be able to last through battles, so I need the practice, the skill, the ability that only real experience will get me. And you, Mr. Man-Mountain, are one HELL of a practice partner from what I'm seeing. So, will you? Will you beat the crap out of me and let me do the same in return?" He was now bouncing on the balls of his feet, his grin looking almost maniacal as he was speaking and energy simply radiating from him in waves. It wasn't tangible, it wasn't a power attribute, it was just pure energy and positivity that he almost seemed to exhale with every breath. He WAS alive, and was proving it. |

District: Small House Shimera pouted. "But Cessy, I wanna join!" she whined. "Don't worry about how much danger I'll be in, I'll be fine!" She floated upward, trying to remind Cess that she wouldn't be easy to catch if she was in the air. Tribute's Train KxS let out a sigh. She didn't have much to say, so she wouldn't say anything. She did hope, however, that Ila was patient. Hammah and KxS had been chatting for a bit of time, she thought. (Excuse the short post, I lack in inspiration) |

[The District: Small House] “It IS dangerous…” Sama pointed out. “But if you’re really serious about it… I mean, we COULD use the help, Cess…” [The Gommorah] The Omertas led Cole and Zeke to their hotel, going past the greeters and down to the elevators. “You,” Cachino said, looking to Zeke. “You stay down here and gamble. The boss only wants to see Cole.” Poor Zeke. Then again he is in the sleaziest casino in New Vegas, full of booze and loose women, so I’m sure Zeke won’t be complaining. Cachino and Big Sal, along with several other Omertas, led Cole up the stairs and to the boardroom, where the boss was already waiting. The Omerta’s boss was sitting at his table, his feet kicked up. He wore a pinstripe suit, tortoiseshell sunglasses and a fedora. “Ah… you’re the one old Not-At-Home wanted to talk to.” The man stood up and adjusted his tie. “I’d like to know what he wanted. I’m the Omerta’s boss, Burke.” … What? I said he wasn’t coming back in RFTS. >:3 |

Tribute's Train “… It’s simple kid, I haven’t had a Victor in a good, long time. I need one of my charges to win this year or the Enclave might decide I’m not as useful as I used to be. And to be blunt, I’ve always treated women better than my fellow men.” Melanie groaned "I suppose I should be flattered" she said carefully...Feeling the creeper vibe just radiate from the man...Or that could be the liquor.... “...Only one of us gets to survive,” Galv said, after a moment, “It might as well be the cute girl, right? You can name a kid after me if you feel too bad...” Instantly Melanie's face went beet red and the girl gave another awkward cough in order to try to draw attention from Galv's words. She wasn't even allowed to date yet (more like her mother would never allow it) so she wasnt even thinking about children. Despite the tension Nyea couldn't help but to 'awwww' at Galv's statement "Oh! You should mention that in your interviews! I'm sure Caesar would absolutely adore that!" [...] Caesar gave another hearty laugh at the two, as if he didn't even notice the tension between Kimi and Shinji. "Well either way I have a feeling you two will be a tough pair to beat!" A few seconds later the interview was over and Caesar was standing in front of the two and shaking Shinji's hand. "Good luck you two! I have a feeling you'll be making this year's games very interesting" Spork Residence "You protected your sister didn't you? Maybe not from the games but from everything else" Colette said with a smile, leaning in taking a sniff of the tea she was now brewing. "I hope mom likes this...She's acting funny. |

-The Capitol: Holding Area- Pibb took a deep breath, almost as if he was simply musing on Lavan's request. Then he moved, faster then his size belied, bringing his left arm up in one smooth motion, in order to bring it down at Lavan in an arc, attempting to smash Lavan's right shoulder! -District: Small House- Cess still looked uncomfortable, then sighed, nodding his head. “...Okay Shimera, you can join, but you have to promise me you'll be careful,” Cess said, “I don't want you doing anything overly dangerous...please...” -Tribute's Train- Aiden nodded to Apollo, not very sure what to say. It wasn't that she was uncomfortable with the idea, it was that she just didn't know much about deception and playing to the cameras. Shipper certainly seemed very nice, so she figured she'd just be as honest as she could, and let Shipper do most of the talking. He certainly seemed better at it then she was, after all. “I'll do my best,” Aiden said then, nodding her head. “Yoohoooo, are you two done?” Ila asked, knocking on the door. “Yah, we are,” Hammah nodded, Ila stepping back inside, smiling. “Excellent then!” Ila smiled, “They just finished with the second interview, moving on the next now. We should all watch the rest, so we know what we have to deal with.” Galv found himself a little red now. He wished he could just tell Melanie that he liked her, and had wished he said something to her sooner. He sighed a little, leaning back into his chair. He wondered if Melanie even remembered that one night, four years ago... -Spork Residence- “I did, yah...” Agoi nodded, giving his daughter a smile. He didn't mention that he had ended up failing, and why Aboy lived with them because of that... “I'm sure she's just worried about Hammah...we all are, but she's taking it especially hard,” Agoi added, “She loves all three of you very much, and the thought of any one of you getting hurt worries her.” |

[Tribute’s Train] Rica paused. … Had he just hit on someone who might be his daughter? Had she taken it that way? Either way, this whole was a lot more awkward and annoying than Rica had hoped for. “Definitely mention it in your interviews. You need to play up the younger lover thing. And be sure to kiss for the crowd.” Rica mentioned. […] Shinji and Kimi were both glad to be off the stage, and once they were alone again, Kimi punched Shinji in the arm. Shinji groaned… he was a little surprised by how hard Kimi could punch. |

Gomorrah Cole looked and frowned a bit. "I'm afraid I can't disclose what my clients want." He tells him. "Part of the trade." Which was true. The law of the Courier was to get a package delivered and delivered right...most of the time, Cole didn't even know what he was delivering. But House's mission was a little...more than a standard job. Tribute's Train "I will too!" Shipper adds in. He didn't mind putting on an act..and he didn't know, maybe they could really end up...like...that.. Apollo nods. "Good. Glad you're both willing. Putting on a good show...well, that's the only way you can hope to win the games. Those that the crowd likes are willing to pitch more in. Support is what you need, and support is what's going to let me get you out of there alive." He looks around. "Now, your competition. Let me tell you a bit about the tributes." He smirks. "Now, there are three different kinds. You have tributes who were drawn. They're like you. They're nervous, frightened, unsure, or just trying to cope with it. They just want to get out alive. Those who have given up are going to be the first to lose. Don't be like them. Keep kindling hope." "Then you have the volunteers. Most of these guys are strong. They volunteer because they WANT to go fight and try to win. These guys are very dangerous..and normally band together and make a group called the 'Career pack.' You may have seen them. They tend to dominate the games and then turn on each other later." "Finally, you have prisoners. These are the guys you don't here about up front. And they are also the most dangerous. What's more dangerous than a hardened criminal fighting to live? Nothing. Some may even be psychotic. They're in the games as punishment...and the games are made even harder because the Gamemakers like to target them. Avoid them, if you can...because they'll do anything it takes to stick it to the Capitol and survive." "Do you have any questions?" |

[Gomorrah] Burke had a small smile on his face, but it was anything but pleasant. There was a chilliness to that smile, and it made the man seem dangerous. Which he was. “I can appreciate a loyal man… but let me tell you about my trade,” Burke hissed as he stood up. “Two days ago, one of our junior Omertas was caught skimming off the top. Lining his pocket. We whipped him until he was bleeding and tied him up in the desert for the animals to finish.” He adjusted his tie. “Look here, Courier… I get what I want. Now if that means me giving you a lot of money, that works for me. If that means me having your little friend taken out into the back and shot, that works for me too.” He’s as classy as ever. |

Tribute's Train KxS nodded firmly. "Sounds like a plan. We do need to know who we're going against," she replied. District: Small House Shimera squealed. "Oh YAY!" she cheered as she hugged Cess again, as tight as ever. "Oh, this will be SOOOOOOOOO fun! There will be battles and adventure and spying and secrets, oh YAY!" She was just way too excited about this. |

Gomorrah Cole frowns. He couldn't let Zeke die..no, that was the last thing he wanted. "Alright. You know as much as I do." He crosses his arms. "House wants a chip. Like a computer chip. He says it's no use to anyone but him. What it does..I have no idea. And not only does he not know the exact location, it's in the hands of a guy who was in the middle of Legion Territory during his last sighting." He was hoping the mention of Legion would stave off the Omerta's curiosity. Caesar's Legion was easily the third biggest army around, even posing a nuisance to the NCR. All the same, The Legion would probably not stop its march until it owned all of America. Cole shrugs a bit. "But he really wants it. And a job's a job. And I do my jobs pretty damn well." |

Spork Residence Colette frowned a bit, but finished the tea and placed it on a tray. "Well maybe this will make her feel a little better" the girl said, carefully heading into the sitting room with the tray. As soon as she noticed her mother the girl smiled and walked a little faster. "Momma I made some tea for you-gah!" The girl gave a little yelp, tripping over a bump in the carpet. Instantly Crystal jumped up, throwing her hand out in flexing her fingers. The liquid that was now mid-air floated around her fingers before landing in the cup. She walked over to Colette, patting her head. "Are you okay darling?" she asked. Colette gave a little nod "Why can't I do that?" Tribute's Train Melanie gave a little sigh, debating getting up and trying to get some air (or attempting to throw herself out of the train) but as soon as she stood a knock came to the door causing the girl to jump. Instantly Nyea got up and answered the door. "It must be the interview!" she said with a grin, letting Caesar and a bunch of crew into the crowded car. Melanie found herself instinctively scooting towards Galv, if for no other reason but lack of space.... "Good evening you two!" Caesar said with a grin, getting a good look at Melanie and Galv. "My, you two look amazing!" "Thank you" Melanie said, taking a breath and trying to remain calm. Caesar then turned to Rica "And Rica, long time no see! You kids are paired with a great victor! Have you told them all the stories of your victory yet?" |

[Gomorrah] Burke let a small smile cross his lips. So this kid was after the Chip… Burke didn’t know much anything about the chip, but he knew House had a lot of computers, and if this was part of his plans… Burke had to get his hands on it. “Interesting. Well, now you’ve got a new job. I’ll double whatever House is paying you to bring the chip to me instead.” Burke didn’t really mean it. He’d just have some Omertas follow Cole, and when he was on his way back, they’d shoot him and take the chip. [Tribute’s Train] Rica glared at Caesar. He absolutely hated Flickman. But Rica needed to play ball for the sponsors, so he immediately put on his best charmer/creeper face. “Oh, I think everyone knows the stories of my Victory, Caesar.” Rica gave a fake laugh. “I’m more interesting in how they’re going to fare. I guarantee you this, Caesar, one of these two will be crowed Victor this year!” Rica knew how to play to the cameras, though he hated it. |
