Tribute's Train "An orphan, eh? Must have been rough.." He shakes his head. "I can't imagine life without my parents. They mean a lot." He looks away, deciding to stray from the conversation at hand. "Oh yeah, it was something. The Capitol is full of strangely dressed people, some with different skin color. And everyone there smells nice...and do what they want." He looks away. "Life of the privileged..I've always wondered what that would be like, oi? Well..we have a chance, Aiden! Our shot...is now. If we win the games...we...we can have a taste of that life..together!" He CLEARLY didn't understand the 'everyone dies' rule. NCR Capitol: Kimball's Home The General listened before exhaling. He knew this day would come. Tandi wouldn't approve of the action...he severely doubted that. He leaned forward, looking around and spoke into the mic. "Things have become tighter here. While normally I would run some words by the President, I doubt she's going to let me help you out..however, I'm willing to help..on the account that I support your Rebellion against the Enclave and because I personally like you." He pauses and thinks on it. "Now, I need numbers. What kind of resources are we talking?" New Vegas Well this was unexpected. Cole pauses to look over the robot with the strange Don Knotts robot...offering him a job from THE Mr. House...he had no idea his title had stretched to even the richest man in the postwar. Of course, looking over the Securitron, he realized that..there were several littering the town, watching...perhaps Mr. House had more power than he led on. There were many robots wandering the landscapes..most on some Godforsaken mission to nowhere. But these robots...were very top notch. "Mr. House?" Cole smirks. "When can I meet him?" |

I can't see what you're imagining
|
-The Capitol: Holding Area- “...A moment...” Pibb answered Lavan. The wall began to move suddenly, the one separating him and Lavan. The heavy stones shifted, and soon a large man appeared. He was tall, dwarfing even Lavan and his hair, and he looked heavy. He was old, with gray hair and a beard about six inches long. “Gallic likes to think he's merciful...” Pibb explained, “He told me once he didn't mind me meeting other captured individuals...that way I'd have a face to go along with those others who were killed.” Morbid. “I usually lift my spirits with either remembering times past, or imagining wrapping my hands around Gallic's neck until his eyes pop from his face,” Pibb then added, answering Lavan's question. -Tribute's Train- Hammah paused, glancing towards Kxs, then Ila. “Ila, do you mind giving us some privacy?” Hammah asked. Ila nodded, heading outside the compartment. Hammah then turned back to Kxs, stepping forward. “You're scared...I'm scared too...but you gotta have hope. Do whatever you need to in order to keep yourself alive until Jimi saves us. I know he will. He loves you after all,” Hammah said, “And I'm not just saying that because he kissed you earlier...” He glanced around, as if trying to make sure Jimi wasn't there to overhear, then continued. “About six months ago he asked my help to write a letter, saying I was better with words then him. It was a love letter...to you. But he was too embarrassed to give it to you. He made me promise never to tell you, but considering the circumstances...” Hammah said, giving Kxs a brotherly hug now. “I think he might have shoved it under his mattress though when he finished it...” Hammah added, not knowing Kxs had also done this around the same time. Aiden, also not understanding the everyone but one dies rule, grinned happily at Shipper, clapping her hands together. “Then we'll do our best!” Aiden smiled, then paused, “So...ummm...what do you want to do now?” She rubbed the back of her head. She wasn't use to having friends. -Seemingly Abandoned Temple- “Vertibirds, for one...And help destroying shield generators,” Old Man Sensei answered, “We want to disrupt the Games, take all the Tributes from it, show the Enclave that they can't keep doing this. It wouldn't do much to their forces...but it would be more of a symbolic blow. I need to get more details before I can give you any solid facts. We'll need transportation for at least twenty people though...along with medics. The kids will probably be pretty banged up...” -New Vegas- “Mr. House would like to meet you as soon as possible,” Victor said, “He's never extended this courtesy to others before, so I would recommend not twaddling, fellow.” |

Tribute's Train "I'm not sure. Looks like there's nothing on this train..." He sighs gently. "Just...a lot of food! And several other scary..murderous tributes." He gazes around. "Maybe we should decide how we're going to do the interviews." He leans forward now. "The interviews are where we talk to this man from the capitol. Somehow, the whole world sees it. And we want to look good to those people! Right? Right! So..how should we try to go at it? Remember, their love and adoration is what we want." NCR Capitol: Kimball's home Kimball chuckled. "What kind of Vertibirds are we talking, Sensei? The little prewar toys or big weapons? Because I can definitely supply you with one more than I can supply you with the other." He takes in a breath. "Alright, man power is no problem. I can get twenty men to you. A small force, sure. But I'll throw in a surprise for you." "The vertibirds are a bit more troublesome. They're hard to come by..we found some old American bases with them, but they're rarity, difficult to build, and strength make them invaluable to our mission...so I will take out a small, unnoticeable amount for you. A few transport, since that's your main job here, and maybe two or three gunships to deal with anything that bothers you." "Sound fair? Twenty passengers is simple. Transports hold about seven to ten people with enough room to hold supplies. So I'll send about five transports...two or three gunships. That's about all I can do for you on that matter, old friend." New Vegas Cole smirks. "Doesn't like to waste time...well neither do I. Lead the way." He tells the robot. |

Tribute's Train KxS' eyes shone at the explanation of the love letter. "Really...?" she asked in confusion. How did she not notice his letter when she hid hers? Just another one of those things no one thinks about. "I, um...don't know what to say. I...may have hid a letter under his mattress as well," she said with a nervous grin. She could no longer hold in the red hue on her cheeks. |

The Capitol: Holding Area Lavan stopped and FROZE in place when the wall shifted to reveal a... A giant! It was a HUGE man, heavily muscled and absolutely awesome-looking. He was the exact sort of old person that Lavan wanted to become one day! Well... Except for the old part. Maybe. "Wheeeew, how's the view from up there? Any different from us little folks'?" He grinned, running up to Pibb and quickly circling around him, taking in every detail he could. Every muscle, every strand of hair. Grinning, he skidded to a stop in front of the man. "Nice ta meet'cha in person! As I said before, call me Strudel. Glad to see that I get someone to look at as well, though it would have been even better if you were instead a woman in her twenties or some sort of Scottish cyclops. But hey, no one gets what they want, at least not often!" He put a hand to his chin. "You're a beast though, Mister Pibb. That is... A lot of muscles. You're a mountain. With that much size and power, popping Gally's eyes out of his head won't be too hard of an undertaking! Well, as long as you can get your hands around his neck. THAT might be a problem." He returned to looking at the weights, and sighed. "Say, would you mind helping me out? I know I'm slated for the games and all, but I'd like to go out with a bang and a lot of showbiz when I end up on the arena, so I'd love to have a sparring partner. Care to help a poor little kid with some tips and tricks? Or are you getting on in your years too much, old man?" |

I can't see what you're imagining
|
-Tribute's Train- “I was just going to be myself, I guess...” Aiden said, rubbing her head, “I'm not really sure what else I can do.” She sighed, looking a little nervous now. Though her adorableness and naivety might help get her sponsors. “What are you going to do Shipper? Oh, I bet you're going to be all brave and charming!” Aiden said, smiling now and nodding her head. “Well, he just sorta shoved it under his mattress...Didn't put it in carefully or anything,” Hammah said with a chuckle, rubbing the back of his head. “When there's another interview, you should tell that story, about the letter...It'll help you get Sponsors, and it'll help keep you alive until Jimi saves us...” -Seemingly Abandoned Temple- “That sounds more then fair,” Old Man Sensei said, “I can not express my gratitude at your willingness to extend this help. I must add that you should be careful not to reveal yourselves as the NCR. If the Enclave believe the NCR is actively helping the Rebellion, they may decide you're worth the effort to attack.” -New Vegas- “Gotcha partner,” Victor said, rolling along. He led Cole towards the Lucky 38. Several people on the Strip looked impressed, seeing Cole escorted inside. Victor continued along, leading Cole into an elevator. “Penthouse floor,” Victor chirped as they started up. Soon Cole would be lead into another room, and directed to large video screen with a face on it. “Ahhh...you must be Cole McGrath. I've heard quite a bit about you,” Mr. House said, “I'm Mr. House, and I am hoping you'd be interested in a certain job...” -The Capitol: Holding Area- Despite the situation, Pibb gave a small smirk, seeing Lavan zip around the room. His enthusiasm was infectious. “If grabbing hold is a problem, I'll just snap his neck off,” Pibb mentioned, snapping his fingers, the echo carrying across the room. For Pibb, that had two possible meanings. “As for helping you...I would not feel right letting you go without attempting to pass on some help and advice. Whatever I can do for you, you have it,” Pibb offered, nodding to the red headed pyro. |

[New Vegas] In the crazed town of New Vegas, there were several casinos, and each one was run by a different gang. Among the most dangerous was the Omertas, who ran the Gomorrah Casino. A group of three Omertas were having a meeting in the penthouse of the casino. Each of the men wore pinstripe suits. Cachino and Big Sal were both heavy players in the gang, and the third man was their boss, one of the most dangerous people in New Vegas. They all wore pinstripe suits, as most Omertas did. As Big Sal took a large swig of whiskey and whipped his chin on his sleeve, and Cachino crammed his mouth full of pretzels, the door burst open and a wheezing Omerta ran in. “Boss! Boss! I got big news!” The third man – the boss – looked up. “Better be good to be interrupting us.” The Omerta nodded. Normally he’d be terrified of interrupting the boss of the Omertas, but he knew this news was too big to wait. “Some guy just went into the Lucky 38!” Big Sal and Cachino both paused, expressing looks of surprise. The boss’ eyebrow rose. “… Interesting. I want to talk to him. Get some of our boys to go wait by the Lucky 38. If this guy is going to meet House, I want to know why.” The Omerta nodded, and ran out of the room to follow the orders. The boss stood up and walked over by the window, peering out at the Lucky 38 down the street. “… What are you up to, House?” The boss wondered. He slipped on his tortoiseshell sunglasses and walked back to the table to finish his drink. [District: Small House] “Oh, I totally agree we have to help them.” Musashi nodded to Cess. “I’m just saying that for once, I don’t want to charge into this without thinking, or we’ll have Peacekeepers shooting us.” Sama shuddered. He knew the Peacekeepers around here… especially Jade. They were assholes… especially Jade. “I suppose caution IS warranted.” |

Tribute Train Shipper blushed, unsure how to react to her...was she flirting? No, no. She seemed to..innocent? He scooted back a bit. "B-brave? I never thought of myself like that before...and never has charming been used to describe me..." He averts his eyes. "I'll do my best though. Maybe the mere fact we stand together will be enough to draw sponsors, ya think?" NCR Capitol: Kimball's home "I'll deal with that. Nothing paint can't fix." He was referring, of course, to blotting out the Two-headed Bear that was prominent on anything NCR related. "When we finally rid ourselves of the Legion, I'll do everything in my power to get you more help. But I can't really promise anything." Lucky 38 Cole looked around the penthouse as he stepped away from the robot who seemed an awful lot like a cowboy. So here was the infamous Mr. House's home. The Lucky 38 was a big deal..anyone in Vegas knew that. Cole had been in the city of vice before but only as a passer. Now he looked up to House. "Heard a few things about me, huh? Well, I've heard things about you." He smirks in wonderment. Was House a robot? No, that wasn't possible... "Alright. You have a job for me...what are we talking?" He asks. Cole liked to get down to business quick. He was taken aback by House's direct invitation..there were so many other couriers, he had to wonder why House picked him out in specific..it was also strange a robot had been waiting there for him..it was like House had been watching him... But he wouldn't let House know any of that. No, he had to remain confident! |

Tribute's Train KxS nearly freaked out. Tell the world about her secret love letter to Jimi? It sounded like making herself vulnerable. Then again, crying in public gave her the same image. She sighed deeply. "Okay, I suppose I should. I don't really want to, but if it helps keep us alive somehow..." |

-Tribute's Train- Nyea frowned, watching the television and tapping her chin lightly. "I don't know, he seems like he'd be a pretty tough competitor...He's very calm in front of the camera" Nyea was totally unaware of the fact that Galv wanted to skin Shinji alive. “You shouldn't trust that guy...I have a bad feeling about him. He doesn't actually want to help you...” Melanie blinked, hoping the boy wasn't aware of her little agreement from before. She gave a little frown, scooting a few inches away from Galv. "I don't trust anyone here...I just want to survive" she said simply. Then Galv announced that she was going to win....Weird. "You don't seem too worried about dying" she said, eying him suspiciously. "You shouldn't give up on yourself so quick" [...] There wasa pause, most likely to make space for a very long set of gasps and mutters that could be placed in...Or triumphant applause- it really just depended on what kind of atmosphere the producers wished to make. "A volunteer! What a splendid surprise! Our nation is always proud to see young men and women step forward for the games! So if you decided to volunteer this year you must be pretty confident about your chances?" Ceasar then gave a chuckle at Kimi's remark "I'm sure we'll have at least a bit of heat in these games, after all last year was a frozen tundra for almost half the match!" Spork Residence Colette couldn't help but to giggle. She knew her brother was indeed good with animals but she couldn't really imagine him enlisting the help of a bunch of birds and fish to win the games. "Do you really think he could do that?" the girl asked, stepping back from her father to return to her job finding a cup for Rose. When she found a good one she moved quickly to a pot of hot water on the stove and poured it carefully. |

[Tribute’s Train] Shinji shrugged his shoulders and flashed a coy smile at Caesar. He knew he could charm the cameras with his wit and humor, and it would get him sponsors… and he would need them for the Games. “Well, what can I say Caesar? The chance to entertain our great nation was too much to pass up! I do plan on winning, and I will do so in style!” Shinji jumped and gave a bow, flashing a grin to the cameras. Kimi rolled her eyes. […] “Don’t worry,” Rica said quietly, looking down to Melanie. “I will do everything I can to make sure you survive these games.” |

-District: Small House- “Okay, if both of you two are urging caution, something has to have you guys spooked,” Cess commented, smirking a bit, but nodded, “And I agree. I'm Mr. Ghost after all, being careful is my middle name.” Now would be an excellent time for Shimera to make some kind of noise to indicate her presence. -Seemingly Abandoned Temple- “That's all I can ask for, again, thank you,” Old Man Sensei said, “I'll contact you again when I have more information for you. Until then, stay safe.” -New Vegas: Lucky 38- “I need you to find an important item for me,” House said, “I need someone who I can trust to do the job, and from everything I've heard and seen, you're a very reliable courier.” He paused, continuing now, “Before the Solar Flare event that wiped out most the technology a long time ago, I had predicted an event would happen. I had a certain item prepared, in order to keep my Securitrons and other systems active even after the event. Unfortunately I made an error predicting when it would occur. The Securitrons you've seen and what I have working here in New Vegas is mostly the result of what I was able to salvage and repair. However it's just a small reserve of what else I have. Unfortunately their systems are fried, and I can't reboot them without tearing out most of their insides and replacing them. Despite my influence and wealth, I simply do not have the resources to accomplish such a task... “Now, enough of the history lesson. I assume you want to know where you come in. Recently I've picked up where that item I need is...A Platinum Chip,” Mr. House continued. His screen changed, showing Cole an image of the Chip. “With this, I will be able to reboot all my dormant Securitrons. It will be a force I need to keep the Legion, NCR, and Enclave at bay, and keep my little paradise alive. You will of course be handsomely rewarded for this task in any currency of your choice...but you will also have the opportunity to be on the ground floor of something truly remarkable. I need a new right hand man, Cole McGrath, and you fit the bill...” -Tribute's Train- “You do seem very brave to me,” Aiden said to Shipper, nodding her head, “You're acting very calm about all this! It's making it so I feel a lot more calm myself!” She smiled brightly, “And ohhhh, maybe it will! And we can share anything we get from Sponsors too, I bet!” “I'm pretty good at figuring things out. People, animals, machines, it doesn't matter. I've seen the Games, just like everyone else,” Hammah said to Kxs, “People love all the tortured romance and lovers torn apart in their youth. It'll be a big help...And it'll let Jimi know you really do care.” Hammah gave Kxs another smile. He didn't really like talking about manipulating people. It made him feel dirty. He was good with words like his father, but he disliked lying immensely, and misleading people, even for things like this, made him a bit queasy. “I'm not the kind of guy who could let someone like you die just I could survive...” Galv muttered, heart sinking a bit as Melanie scooted away from him. “Besides...a long time ago my dad volunteered in your mom's place for the Games. I guess it's something like a family obligation.” Plus true -Spork Residence- “I'm sure of it,” Agoi nodded to his daughter, “Hammah's good at figuring things out. Give him enough time and he can solve any problem.” He ruffled his daughter's hair, using his telekinesis to help keep Colette's pouring steady, though not letting the girl know he was helping. “And besides, he's fighting for you, you know,” Agoi added, “I happen to know personally big brothers will do everything they can for their little sisters.” |

[District: Small House] Musashi shrugged his shoulders. “You KNOW that caution is not my usual course of action, but messing with the Hunger Games… I mean, I love the idea of it, but this is probably the most suicidal thing we’ve ever thought of.” Musashi sighed. He had lost a girlfriend to the Games once, when he was younger, and so he hated the Enclave with all of his passion. Sama, meanwhile, frowned. “Okay… we’ll do what we can. Can you set something up, Cess?” [Tribute’s Train] Rica just looked at Galv and Melanie for a moment. Yes, this would work… even if he wasn’t sure if Melanie actually returned the boy’s feelings. He frowned, his mind going back to… the possibility. Kanna had denied having any secrets, but Rica didn’t trust her… was it possible? |

NCR Capitol: Kimball's home "Fair enough. Keep safe and give the Enclave hell. Over and out." Kimball shut down the radio and took a stroll to the window... New Vegas: Lucky 38 Cole listened and watched House as he went through the motions. This all seemed..incredible. So all the rumors were true, Robert House, the enigmatic leader of New Vegas, had been around this entire time, planning away at something big..really big. Cole never thought he would play a role in some grander scheme. Wow, a literal poker-chip. Something inside him wondered why House was obsessed with this whole casino setup. And then the wham line...right hand man? What would this entail? Had Cole finally hit the jackpot? "This is crazy." He chuckles. "I didn't know my reputation had grown enough to reach you." He crossed his arms. "Well where to begin...this seems like a pretty big job. So I suppose it's safe to ask..where will I find this chip? Someone else got it?" Even if the old expression was 'the House Always Wins,' Cole had to be careful and examine his own cards. Tribute Train Shipper blushes again and looks down. "And..you look really cute, Aiden...I wish I'd met you sooner, being homeless must be lonely." At that, a man entered the room. He was wearing a red beret, a pair of sunglasses, a red shirt, and a vest over it with bandoliers. His pants were dusty, leathery. He stepped forward and looked down at the two. "You Aiden and Shipper? He asks with a smile. "Name's Marco. But people know me as Apollo. And I'm your mentor for these games. It's my first time, but I have always rooted for the underdogs. I came here to get a look at what I'd be training. So..why don't we do a little talking? Get to know each other?" |

District: Small House Shimera giggled. "Mr. Ghost"? What a cute yet silly nickname! It made her forget that she was spying on Cess for one second when she giggled. She then clamped her hands over her mouth. "Uh-oh, I made a noise!" she thought. Tribute's Train "I suppose you have a point there, Hammah," KxS replied. "Jimi needs to know at some point about my horribly-written love letter." She rubbed the back of her neck and looked away. KxS hardly ever made eye-contact in the first place, but she made much less when embarrassed or nervous. Just the thought of people knowing about her private letter was unnerving, but she had to do what she had to do. Even then it was unsettling. |
