Tribute's Train

Melanie had just recovered from her kissing when Galv moved forward and mimicked her actions, kissing her deeply....The two teens were actually in a quite serious bought of almost-making out, which was only made stranger thanks to the fact that two adults were watching them.

Finally the two parted for good (or at least for now), Melanie staring at Galv as he promised her she wouldn't die...

Melanie supposed he was just playing the part so she gave a little nod.

"Good! Now you two hold hands and sit close, I want you to be ready when it's our turn...And it wouldn't hurt for you to watch some of the interviews that are going on now" Nyea said, pointing to the TV where Hammah was wrapping up his interview.

"He doesn't look too scary" Melanie said quietly, her cold hands feeling tingily in Galv's.

[...]

"What a smart strategy! Most relay on brute power but this young lad hopes to use his brain to out-wit his competitors! We'll see how it works out in the Games! Best of luck to you both!"

And with that the lights dimmed and the cameras shut off. It seemed as if they were in a hurry to get to the next interview.

"Best of luck my boy!" Caesar said with a smile, offering a hand to shake.

Spork Residence

"Nothing could change Hammah." Collete answered without a second thought "He's my brother, and he won't change because some games. I know him"

Colette pulled herself up on the counter, reaching for some tea cups. Tea had always soothed Rose's nerves. "I wish he didn't have to go though...He's too nice....He shouldn't of got up"

[Tribute’s Train]

Rica watched for a moment, and as Galv got involved in things, he seemed to be pretty passionate about it. That would go a long way… and Rica knew what Galv had told him. He was fairly certain that this might actually work now.

… Kanna would hate it. That didn’t matter. If it kept Melanie alive, she would get over it.

“… That will work. You two do that for the cameras, you’ll have all the sponsors.” He chuckled.

[…]

The next interviewee was waiting for her interview. She had not paid much attention to Hammah’s interview, nor would she pay attention to many others.

Kimi yawned, leaning against the wall. She was in a frilly dress, and had a lot of make up on. She hated it. She might end up punching her stylist later.

Hammah smiled back, shaking Caesar's hand, “Thank you. I'm sure I'll need all the luck I can get.”

When Caesar and the others were gone, Hammah sighed, turning to Kxs, giving her a soft smile.

“That wasn't too bad, right?” he asked.

“Not bad at all! You have this cute face, and I'm sure you'll get a lot of sponsors from rich women,” Ila commented, nodding her head, then turned to Kxs, “You should be more talkative though! Don't you have that guy you want to go home to? You need to play that up! Wanting to return home to your boyfriend, all that!”

“Ummm...that's my brother though...” Hammah muttered.

“Even better!” Ila grinned.

Hammah sighed, shaking his head.

Galv just nodded to Nyea, taking a seat next to Melanie, holding her hand still. He was still quite red, and his heart was beating a mile a minute. He was trying to calm down, but he was having a hard time.

“...You really do look nice in that dress...” Galv said quietly, after a moment, “I don't think you really need the makeup though...”

-District Streets-

Cess moved through the streets quietly, stepping along quickly. He made a lot of twists and turns, doubling back now and then in an attempt to throw off any followers. Of course, he wasn't paying attention for Shimera. It never occurred to him that she might be following.

Finally, Cess made it to a large wall, blocking off this part of the District with the wild forest beyond. He paused, focusing, then poked the wall, his hand going through.

He took a deep breath, preparing to step through...

-Spork Residence-

“He got up to protect you...Just like any of us would,” Agoi said, leaning down so he was on eye level with his daughter, giving her a smile, “Just as I know you would if you had a younger sibling. Family protects each other.”

[District: Small House]

In a small suburb in the District, near a forest where a lot of logging work was done, Sama and Musashi had set up a small base. They were inside the living room, freezing from the cold temperature.

The two had been busy all day, trying to monitor things on the train. Nanami had called and ordered them to get as much information as they could on the Tributes, which was not an easy job for the rebels.

“Dang it…” Sama sighed, sitting down in the wooden chair in the corner of the room. “Ugh… what a day.”

[Tribute’s Train]

“Yes, she does.” Rica replied, interrupting the d’aww moment with Galv and Melanie. “The people in the Capitol just love freaky makeup. I can take it or leave it, but you need to play to your audience.”

While looked angry, another brown haired green eyed girl stood in the compartment with her, looking extremely nervous and frightened. She jumped at sudden noises, and looked like she might break down at any moment.

Thankfully she didn't have anything sharp, as breaking down would involve her stabbing someone.

Erin frowned, glancing towards Kimi. Erin hadn't provided any good advice to Kimi, because Erin was insane, and Kimi wouldn't take any either.

“Your partner should have been here by now...” Erin muttered, shaking her head. She wished her brother was here, he was better at this kind of stuff.

[Tribute’s Train]

Kimi just groaned as her mentor, Erin, spoke to her. The girl had been a little hopeful when she found out that Erin was assigned to be her mentor. Erin had, after all, won in a very impressive display of stabbing and violence.

Unfortunately, Erin was a big bag of crazy, and Kimi quickly realized she was useless.

“Yeah, whatever.” Kimi responded over her shoulder to Erin. Then the door opened, and out came Kimi’s partner.

Shinji Matou was dressed in a nice suit with a rose in his lapel. He did clean up nice, and he looked less crazy – but only just slightly.

“Ah, my beautiful ladies! Group hug?” Shinji suggested.

“Blow it out your ass.” Kimi responded.

Erin frowned at Shinji as he finally came in, then asked for a group hug. Walter said never to hug other people.

This was mostly to protect the other people, mind you.

“The interviewees are going to be here soon,” Erin said, then rubbed her head. Her brother usually was here to help her, to guide her, but he had missed the train, having been on some mission.

“So...Ummm...” she paused, rubbing her head, “What...umm...angles are you two going to go for?”

Shinji just grinned, and for a moment he let his eyes wander at both Erin and Kimi. Shinji’s just that kind of guy. The kind of guy who makes Ryan’s nighttime newspapers look subtle.

“Oh, I was thinking about a lover’s angle, you know? We’re so madly in love we can’t keep our hands off each other…” Shinji reached for Kimi, but she grabbed his wrist and yanked his arm to the side. Shinji immediately whimpered and from the look on his face, he was in real pain.

“Touch me and I’ll break your f***ing arm.” Kimi snapped. She pushed Shinji away. “I don’t need an angle. I’m me. I’m going to win because I’m stronger and cuter than the rest of these idiots.”

Erin might be insane, but she wasn't stupid. She frowned at Shinji, then glanced over to Kimi.

“Tough and cute could work...” Erin said, thinking, “But you can't be too abrasive, or no one will support you.”

She turned towards Shinji now, thinking.

“You could go for a lover angle, I think...Go for the 'lover not a fighter' thing, and that could get you some sponsors...”

Kimi merely shrugged her shoulders, finally turning to acknowledge her mentor.

“I am abrasive. I don’t like stupid people. I don’t like having to go risk my life to entertain a bunch of stupid people.” Kimi crossed her arms.

Shinji, meanwhile, moved much closer to Erin and gave a large grin. “That’s no angle. I AM a lover, not a fighter. I would much rather be making love instead of war… and I can prove it if you’d like.”

I’m seriously not sure how Shinji will survive hitting on Kimi AND Erin AT THE SAME TIME.

Another frown from Erin.

“I killed a guy like you back in the Games, you know,” Erin said after a moment. “I watched him as I choked him with my bare hands. I would have just used my powers, but there was a pylon active.”

She then stepped away from Shinji, walking towards Kimi.

“Act tough then...but try to seem...sweet, I guess? Does that make sense?” Erin suggested.

[Tribute’s Train]

Shinji merely shrugged his shoulders. Apparently that was a ‘no’ on Shinji’s generous offer to get froggy with his mentor. Shinji might have been more mad, but he was still counting on the deal he had made with Melanie.

… I know, everyone already hates Shinji, I don’t have to try this hard.

Kimi, meanwhile, just let out a growl-like groan. “Fiiiiiine, I guess I can be sweet. Or something. I just don’t like pretending for these Capitol assholes. They can make me do this crap, but they can’t take away who I am.”

Kimi is now Peeta.

… No, no she isn’t.

KxS let out a soft sigh. "I'm sorry, I thought he was talking to Hammah only. I don't talk much anyway," she told Ila. She wasn't facing her Mentor when she spoke and she kicked up some dust from the floor.

She blushed as Ila mentioned Jimi as her "boyfriend". Maybe he was, but she didn't really want to say it out loud. In fact, she once wrote a love letter to Jimi once, but she was afraid of being spotted with it and put it under his bed. That was about...6 months ago, she thought. KxS shook her head. Jimi probably never found it. What a stupid idea, putting it under his bed.

Capitol: Streets

Shimera grinned, seeing Cess sneaking around. She floated up and began following him again. The best way to follow someone is by not making loud footsteps. Flying is the way to go.

Tribute’s Train

Melanie couldn't help but blush as Galv complimented her, but soon it was replaced with annoyance when Rica spoke up. The girl sighed, moving back and bringing her eyes to the television...

"So I wonder who is next" Nyea said, watching as a short stint of games clips while the next pair of tributes were prepared.

As Melanie watched a particularly morbid scene of some boy beating another boy's head in with a club she thought of something.... "What happens to you if you die in there?" she asked "What happens to the body?"

[...]

A knock came to Kimi and Shinji's car door, behind it was Caesar and his horde or camera and lighting people...

A few seconds later the door slid open and the blue haired host came in. "Good afternoon you two! Ready for your interviews?"

Spork Residence

Colette listened to her father, suddenly moving forward and hugging him tightly. The little girl looked up at her dad now smiling. She was pale and cute, with freckles covering her cheeks and nose and red hair wavy around her face.

"If for some reason Hamah has to fight...He'll win right? He'll think of a way to do it without hurting anyone...Right?"

Rica didn’t like to think about the answer to Melanie’s question. It was a time like this he wanted his vodka, but he knew he couldn’t do that now.

“… The Enclave removes the bodies from the arena. I’m not sure what happens after that.” Rica admitted, looking down at her.

[…]

Kimi looked over to the blue haired host and she shrugged her shoulders. “Yeah, I’m ready, let’s get this show on the road already!”
