The Capitol: Holding Center Lavan sighed loudly. "Yah, Gallic's REALLY good at that. So is the Enclave. Well... At the entire "I will kill your family if you are even remotely against me" part. It's a valid tactic, too. Exceptionally effective for family men, but not as effective when a man's got nothing to lose and everything to gain." He stretched out on the bed, speaking somewhat somberly now. "You know, I am surprised though. They killed those important to you, so that was blinding rage. They captured you and effectively emasculated you, so that anger goes to extreme depression. And you're NOT suicidal. You have one hell of a will to live, man. I applaud you, though that's not going to make things better." He paused heavily, wondering what else to say. He... Well, he could empathize, but he couldn't ever really understand how the man must be feeling. To lose his family, people he actually loved, cared for, lost permanently because of the Enclave and Gallic. So many lives were ruined because of the man, and so many more were ruined before they even began. It was one of the many things unforgivable in his book. But then again, he was born in fire, so he couldn't really say anything. "Gallic WILL get what's coming to him one day. And that day's drawing pretty close, by my reckoning. But that's not something to discuss in a prison being run by said madman and his pantyhose closet. Oi, Gallic! I know you're watching this, hearing this and having inappropriate relations with your bathtub over this, but know that I hate you OH so very much right now! And that's THAT! HA!" He snickered for a bit, before speaking again. "Though now I am curious as to why you decided to spill your life story to a complete stranger the moment one came to an adjacent cell. Am I really that lovable of a sounding board?" |

Tribute’s Train Melanie stayed in the bathtub for a few minutes before the sound of her bedroom door opening forced her out. The girl quickly climbed out and grabbed a towel, wrapping it around her as she peeked out of the bathroom She was expecting to see her her strange female handler but instead there was just a dress, makeup, and three people. "EEP!" Melanie yelped, stumbling back at the sight of two women and a man who didn't seem that fazed from her reaction. "Who are you!?" They didn't answer, instead they went straight to work redressing her and fixing her hair. One of the women started to put makeup on her face....And then glitter was dusted over her. The girl sniffled and sneezed but sat still until everything was done. As if on cue Nyea walked back in, grinning brightly. "Look at you! You look like a doll! And so shiny! I always knew Avex were great stylists!" "They're Avox?" Melanie asked, just now realizing that through the whole process none of the three had said a word. She bowed her head at them . "T-Thanks" They said nothing, instead just slipping away. "We really should show you off to Rica, see if he approves" Nyea said, tapping her chin. "And then get that boy cleaned off, he rushed off and was talking to some boy last time I saw him." Melanie raised a brow and stood. She was now able to get a good look at what she was wearing. The girl's dress was short and flaired out a bit at the bottom. It was red and covered in glitter, which also crept around her shoulders, then neck, and was sprinkled around her right cheek. Her hair was down and curled and her lips were bright red. Finally she had a pair of strappy heels that laced up all the way to her knees. "I thought you both should match. He'll be wearing red too, that way you both don't clash with his hair" Melanie couldn't help but to giggle. "Now why don't you go back to the boy's room, I need to get his things together and i'll meet you." Nyea said sweetly, patting Melanie's head. "Sure" Melanie said simply, rushing out and heading through the cars....Until she spotted Galv.... -With Shinji. Oh god. Melanie walked up, clearing her throat a bit....She had a feeling they weren't discussing the weather. "H-Hey guys...." [...] A young man Avox stepped into Connor's room, hands full of clothes and toiletry items to help Connor get presentable. The man placed the stuff down on the bed and motioned to the pair of pants where a note made from a ripped napkin was poking out. It was simple, written in a shaky handwriting but Sarai was sure to sign it. It would seem as if she wasn't allowed to write too often. Don't go without saying goodbye The young man didn't stay around too long, having slipped back out the door without a word. [...] Chloe looked over to Coral, raising a brow. "I'm guessing the stylists haven't got to you get, you'll hate television after them...But Ceasar looks nice enough, by the interviews i've seen in past years. His hair's pretty cool too" She took another bit of food. "You any good in front of a camera?" |

[Tribute’s Train] Rica was in his room now, alone. He was sitting in a chair, chewing on a pastry. He could already feel sobriety rapidly approaching him, and he hated it. He knew that he would have a massive hangover in a few hours, and he would be in no shape to help those kids. He sighed, leaning back in the chair. His mind kept going to what Nyea said… that comment about how much Melanie and he looked alike… he frowned, trying to do some quick math, trying to find out if it was even possible… “… Kanna… you would have told me, wouldn’t you?” He wondered aloud. Then he groaned, and threw his pastry at the wall. Of course she wouldn’t. […] Shinji looked over at Melanie as she appeared, now all dressed up and made up. He immediately pushed past Galv and smiled at her, taking her hand. “You look ravishing!” He commented, practically licking his lips. Have I made you all hate him yet? Because I can try harder. […] Connor frowned as he nodded to the Avox. He was hoping Sarai would have come, but she was probably busy with other things. He sighed and looked down at the clothes. Connor did not dress up often… he worked helping his healer mother, so he was usually covered in blood from healing people. Besides, in his town, nobody could afford nice clothes. He found the note and frowned. It was from Sarai… he moved to catch the Avox, to have him take a message to her, but he was already gone. Connor sighed and headed off to bathe. […] Coral shrugged her shoulders. “I’ve been avoiding the stylists. They’re annoying… I happened to mention I tend to a garden as a hobby, and now they want to decorate me all with flowers and bows and I’m pretty sure I’ll knock someone’s teeth out if they do.” She sighed, leaning back in the chair and sipping on some colored liquid. “I have no idea. Never been in front of a camera before. But I figure if I’m dead, I might as well be memorable.” |

Tribute’s Train Melanie blinked as Shinji took her hand, the girl's face turning a bit pink under the blush and powder. "Uh...T-Thanks" she said quietly, looking past the creeper for a moment and noticing Galv "You're not in your outfit yet." she noticed with a frown. [...] "Well if you want to do something memorable you should punch someone out on camera, show then your tough!" Was she trying to sabotage her fellow tributes? Duh. "I'm curious of what they'll do with me...Can't look any worse than I already do!" she laughed. [...] In all parts of the train there was a loud intercom that flicked to life.... "Attention all tributes, please return to your rooms in preparation for interviews. A copy of the tribute order will be available in all areas of the train" |

[Tribute’s Train] Shinji grinned, at least until Melanie took notice of Galv. Then he frowned, and immediately stepped in between them. “Yes, Galv, you really should go get in your outfit. Run along.” Shinji grinned, standing right next to Melanie. […] Coral raised an eyebrow, and then quickly shook her head. “Yeeeeah, I don’t think I’ll win any points for breaking Flickman’s nose. Still, sounds fun.” |

I can't see what you're imagining
|
-The Capitol: Holding Area- “...Talking about what happened helps me. Helps keep me focused,” the voice answered Lavan, “I'm not naïve enough to think I'll be able to take down Gallic myself...but I know a few things...things that can help...” A sigh, the voice going silent for a few moments. “What's your name anyways kid, if you don't mind me asking?” the voice asked next. -Tribute's Train- “Right,” Hammah nodded, giving Kxs a smile, “We'll survive...we can do that, because we promised Jimi we would, just like he promised to save us.” Ila frowned a little, tapping her chin. She didn't think either of the two would get rescued, but she wasn't going to say anything. Hope could be important. “Then I'll do my best to make sure you two know how to survive!” Ila said, “You should learn how to make fires and stuff without any powers, just in case.” Edda sighed, looking towards Shipper. That kid was entirely too young be in something like the Games. He hoped he wouldn't have to face the kid, though his own strategy was to keep out of sight, then use his ability to hit hard and fast of any of the survivors, before they or the Gamemakers could figure out that's what his plan was. “You should try these!” a tanned girl with red eyes and white hair said to Shipper, standing by the food as well, holding up a plate. Whatever was on there was now indistinguishable from lumps of charcoal. The girl seemed to like her food very, very well done. “...I was looking for you,” Galv said to Melanie, deciding it was best to ignore Shinji or he'd attack the boy right here. “Come on, let's get you back to Rica, and then I'll go get ready...” He shot a glare at Shinji again. -Spork Residence- Cess followed Agoi and the others back to their house, Cess looking nervous. By all apparent means, the Sporks were better off then many in the District, thanks to Agoi's knowledge of machines, giving the family a steady income. But he didn't think they had any love for the Enclave. Especially now, with a son off to the Games, and a girl who seemed like a daughter. “...So...I need you not to discuss what I say here...” Cess said, “It's very important...” “You're part of the Resistance...the Rebellion...” Jimi spoke up, “Good...” Cess looked a little surprised, turning his attention to Jimi. “Then I want to join. I promised Kxs and Hammah that I would save them,” Jimi answered, cracking his knuckles, “I'll do whatever I have to...” Cess was quiet for a moment, then nodded, “It's true...I am part of the Rebellion...and to be honest we could use all the help we could get.” Agoi was silent, then glanced towards his wife Rose, then finally towards Colette. “We can help protect you, when the time comes,” Cess said, “We have bases, places where you can hole up safely.” “Odd thing, isn't it...” Aboy spoke up, frowning, “Either we risk everything to save Hammah and Kxs, or leave them to their chances just to keep us safe...” “...But if we don't do something...” Agoi started, frowning, “We're still not safe...Colette...” Hammah had volunteered to take Colette's place this year, but that did not mean the girl couldn't be chosen in later means... |

Tribute's Train KxS made her first genuine smile since she was chosen. "Right, let's not break our promises!" She then turned to Ila. "Sounds like a good idea," she replied. Outside the Spork Residence Shimera listened to every word from a window. Cess was in the Rebellion? Why didn't he tell her? She rubbed her chin. He probably didn't want to worry her. At the moment, she was not at all worried. In fact...this was the perfect excuse for... ADVENTURE! She smiled brightly. Perfect, perfect, PERFECT! |

The Capitol: Holding Area Lavan nodded. "Well, I guess I can agree about the focus. As long as you've got a goal in mind, yeah. And heck, I would have trouble with Donny Gally even when he has a bad hair day and I've prepared a thousand toys! Still, I think that someone is out there who would very well shiv him in the spherical objects one day. Or his colon. Or his spleen. Well... Something in the lower stomach and pelvic area." The man snickered again, kicking off the bed and starting to jog lightly around the room, getting his blood pumping first. Might as well do something mind-numbing WHILE having a conversation, since both didn't really interfere with one another. "As for my name? Strudel Von Wildebeast the Eighteenth, at your service! Bomb-maker extraordinaire, your local guy for explosives and various tinkered gadgets. Most often associated with things that go boom. What about yourself, man? What name should I be using?" |

Tribute's Train "O-Oh of course" Melanie said quickly, taking Galv's arm before looking to Shinji. She couldn't escape the blush creeping on her cheeks when she looked at him...She still wasn't exactly sure what she promised him... "W-We'll see you soon then? I think we have to present our abilities tomorrow for the Gamemakers..." [...] "Maybe not, but you'll be remembered!" Chloe said with a laugh before standing up. "Either way I should go find my partner and get dress...Hopefully he's not in some closet committing some horrible social taboo" She gave a grin and nod at Coral before bidding adieu [...] The televisions in each car flickered back to life with a man with bright blue hair and a cheesy grin. The man was known as Caesar Flickman, the host of many of the television programs of the games...He would be conducting the interviews. There was a sudden knock on KxS' door...The Cameras were closing in. [...] Rica was alone for a few moments before a knock came to the car's door. Before Rica could even permit entry an older Avox man walked in, carrying a small phone....Phones were a rare commodity and were strictly forbidden for tributes but every now and then you would see an official or Gamemaker on one... The man sat the phone down by Rica before slipping out....There was someone on the other line. |

Tribute Train Shizuo laughed. "I wonder if a few bullets would be better than the games.." He says few because his body could take a lot...and even then, he'd probably bleed out slowly before they struck a major organ. The announcement. "Well, guess I better get back." He grumps his way out the door. "Keep in touch." He mutters softly. --- Shipper smiles brightly. A tribute even younger than him! Fantastic! Now he wouldn't be alone! He happily took a piece of the burned food and popped it into his mouth. Crunch...crunch...crunch! To be honest, it lacked flavor and tasted kinda funky. But he smiled. It couldn't have been the worst thing he'd eaten right? It came close, but it wasn't...he looks at the girl. "Thank ye! The name's Shipper. And you're Aiden...right? Just the tribute I was lookin' for!" He smirks uneasily. This was the girl who stood on stage without a family...that must've hurt. "Listen, we're the youngest people onboard, methinks..I haven't seen many of the other tributes...think it'd be wise to try to help each other out? After all, the older kids..have you seen them? They all think we're easy targets." His voice was a whisper now. "So..I was thinking we could work together...show them what we're made of...we can make it to the top." His eyes were shining brightly. |

[Tribute’s Train] Shinji saw Galv’s glare, but he met it with one of his obnoxious smirks. He didn’t show any hatred for the boy, or even any annoyance… to Shinji, the redhead was just a miniscule problem, one that the Arena would solve for him. He was sure that within the opening moments of the Hunger Games, Galv would be dead, and Shinji and Melanie could run off into the woods together with a few supplies, and then Shinji could finally have his fun. […] Coral frowned, leaning back in the chair and finishing off her bear claw. “That chick is crazy,” Coral sighed, jumping out of her chair. She had to go and get ready… she paused, rubbing her arm and slowly heading back towards her room. […] Van frowned, looking at Shizuo. He might have had a point… but to Van, he had to at least try to survive the Games. “Seeya…” Van said quietly, leaning against the wall. […] Rica was confused as the Avox walked in. He was about to shout at him until he saw the phone. Those were rare – extremely rare. Rica had only ever used them before during some of his work as part of the Enclave. Though Rica was too much of a drunk to be useful to the Enclave, so Rica was usually ignored. He picked up the phone. “Hello?” |

Tribute’s Train The other end of the phone was quiet for a moment before a voice came. "Rica..It's Kanna" The voice revealed. "I can't talk long, you have no idea what it cost to be able to use this thing for only a minute...I wanted to check on Melanie...She's alright? I've been setting up sponsors all day, so when you meet with them during the games you sure as hell better not mess them up" It was clear Kanna had been busy...But she also seemed very panicked. She wasn't supposed to be calling a mentor....It was technically cheating. |

[Tribute’s Train] Rica was a little surprised that Kanna had access to a phone. He was not surprised that she would be micromanaging things. Just the idea that he was talking to her could get them both in a lot of trouble, and get Melanie penalized. “She’s fine.” Rica replied. He paused, debating on whether or not he should tell her. “… The boy, the other Tribute under my charge… he told me he wants me to help Melanie win. So she’s popular, at least, and now I don’t have to feel guilty focusing exclusively on her.” He paused. What Nyea had said… the math Rica had crunched in his mind… he found a question on his mind, but he couldn’t ask it… the truth might send him back to the bottom of a bottle. |

[Tribute’s Train] Rica could hear the pain in Kanna’s voice. He sighed, leaning back in his chair to the point he was actually in danger of falling over. “… I haven’t seen her yet, no, but I know the stylist. She’s annoying, but she’s good at her job. Melanie will be fine.” Rica frowned for a moment. “... I’m as sober as I can be… Kanna, I need to know… is there anything you need to tell me?” |
