Galv frowned, having been the one to watch over Melanie, but didn't really care what Kanna thought of him.

He stayed close to Melanie, still looking around just in case.

Erin was shaking, latched unto Jason still, refusing to move away from the boy.

“Melanie's okay...” Galv said, “I made sure to keep her safe...”

And make out, but they are teenagers.

-Safe House-

“...That's a possibility,” Edda said, though somewhat begrudgingly, “I'd wager that Autumn would want to get you himself, and not just send soldiers. It's not something I would bet my own life on, but if he does... well, we could set a trap...”

-Hoover Dam-

Cess cursed as he was fired at, turning intangible and making a run for it, leaping into a tent, breathing heavily. A footlocker greeted him, and he flung it open. Healing powder, some water, and...

Yes...

From the tent came a red stick, flying through the air before it landed by one of the Frumentarii.

Dynamite!

Gatling guns. They were awesome weapons, and could tear through armor and people alike relatively easily. Lavan loved to use them because of the amount of ammo it could level on the enemy, the suppressing factor, and the fact that it could most likely tear through defenses in seconds.

For the same exact reasons, he hated it when a gatling gun was used AGAINST him. His bike wasn't made to handle such large amounts of leveled gunfire, and he expected not to have to deal with such heavy weapons when he was relatively easy to hit. This problem was compounded by the fact that he was being fired on from multiple sides, though Cess was definitely helping out in that case.

So it wasn't a surprise that when struck by a hair of bullets from a gatling gun, some lead found its way where it should not be. One hit a fuel pipe, disabling the flamers around the base of the bike, cutting off one avenue of attack. The second severed electronic connection from the steering apparatus to the lights. A third wormed its way into the front tire underneath the armored plate of the exterior frame, popping the tire like a balloon. Another managed to slip by and almost take out Lavan's ear, tracing a bloody trail across his temple, just barely missing the head.

With his motorcycle generally disabled, Lavan had to get out. So he jumped out suddenly, propelling himself with a bit of a heat burst to just accentuate that jump a little more beyond his normal range.

This didn't stop Caesar from moving the gatling gun upward to try to take Lavan out of the sky. And that would have been a massive problem... Had the gatling gun not jammed the moment it was about to take the firestarter right out of the air. And it was indeed Lavan's own fault, a basic trick. The jump was just to get Lavan into affecting range of his power so he could do something to that gun. And what he did was prematurely detonate several bullets within the barrel of the gatling gun, forcing it to jam just moments before it would have hit him.

"Wakka wakka!!!"

Now, he was right in front of Caesar. Caesar had a worthless gatling gun, and Lavan had his power. So what did Lavan do?

He shunted the heat from the revved-up minigun through the ammo chain into the weapon's ammo case, trying to set off as much ammunition as he possibly could. If he couldn't get past that power armor... Well, he was going to improvise.

“… You don’t have to thank me for taking care of our daughter, Kanna.”

Kanna frowned a bit, she had to physically remind herself that Melanie wasn't just hers...She had a father and it was her mentor for the Games...Heck, because of that the girl probably had a better relationship with him than her.

“Come here. We should talk in the other room.”

Kanna blinked. "Uh, sure..." she said, following him into the next room.

“Melanie's okay...I made sure to keep her safe...”

Jason looked over at Galv with narrowed eyes...."Safe hooooooow?"

"Jason!" Melanie exclaimed, face red.

Safe House

“… I could be bait. We know Autumn hates me. If we let it slip to him where I was, he’d come, and then we could spring a trap on him.”

Instantly Sarai was on the defensive, grabbing Connor's arm in a death grip. "C-Connor n-no, he'll kill y-you!" she exclaimed, not willing to make that an option.

“...That's a possibility, I'd wager that Autumn would want to get you himself, and not just send soldiers. It's not something I would bet my own life on, but if he does... well, we could set a trap...”

Sarai whipped around, now glaring at Edda. "D-Don't encourage him!"

Chloe frowned "It's a decent idea, probably the best we have girlie, no reason to fight logic"

"I-It's not logic it's stupid!" Sarai countered, voice raising considerably. "It's suicide!"

"It's not suicide if we play our cards right" Chloe pointed out. "Connor's smart, he wouldn't just throw himself into the lions den"

"T-That's what it sounds l-like!"

“Safe,” Galv answered Jason, glaring at him, keeping Melanie close. “We're not going to leave each other's sides... So you better get use to that.”

Erin mumbled a little and shifted in Jason's arms slightly, still gripping him tightly.

-Safe House-

“We'll call that Plan B for now,” Edda said, running a hand through his hair, “It's not like we can make this look like an accident. It'll be viewed as an assassination no matter how we go about it, even if we can make it look natural, so we have to plan our escape.”

“Gallic can help you escape, so long as you avoid Autumn's security's initial clutches,” Eugene spoke up.

Edda frowned. He didn't need to say that none of them trusted Gallic in the slightest.

“Whatever we do is going to have some risk,” Edda continued, “We need to be prepared for eventualities. All plans screw up somewhere, after all.”

BOOM!

The dynamite exploded, killing two of the Fumentarii instantly. A third was injured and fell backwards in a great deal of pain.

Caesar, meanwhile, had his own problems. Lavan’s ‘trick’ had worked wonders and the Mini-Gun he was using to such great effect was suddenly reduced to being a giant paperweight. He dropped the now useless weapon on the ground, and took a step back.

“You’ve done nothing!” Caesar called out.

Enclave Hellfire Armor was used by the most elite of Enclave troops. It could withstand small arms fire without flinching, and even heavy weapons would need repeated strikes to get through. It also increased the strength of the wearer, but at a cost.

The armor was bulky and reduced movement. It could also get very hot inside the suit, but a series of ventilation fans were used to keep it cool.

FWOOOSH!

An arrow flew and embedded in one of the ventilation shafts, blocking the fan. A second arrow hit the ground beneath Caesar’s feet and started a fire! Nanami came rushing out from behind a tent with the bow in her hands.

She focused on the flames, but with no training with her Fire Powers, she could not increase their intensity.

“Make yourself useful, red!” Nanami shouted at Lavan.

[Safe House]

Connor had a very concerned Sarai gripping his arm. He hated to see her so upset, but he believed that this plan was their best chance. They needed a way to get Autumn’s attention, and what better bait than Connor?

“We'll call that Plan B for now,” Edda said, running a hand through his hair, “It's not like we can make this look like an accident. It'll be viewed as an assassination no matter how we go about it, even if we can make it look natural, so we have to plan our escape.”

“… Okay… then here’s a question. Can you find out what Autumn is up to? If we knew that, maybe we could figure out a better Plan A.”

[Camp McCarren]

Rica looked up at Kanna and he sighed, running his hand through his dark hair. He was a mess at the moment. His usual jacket was missing, and his shirt had several holes and bloodstains in it. Still, Rica knew if he did not say this now, he likely never would.

“… I’m sorry.” Rica said quietly. “I f-cked up. I wasn’t there when I should have been, and… and you were right not to tell me about Melanie.”

Rica groaned. Admitting that was hard. He turned around to face Kanna now.

“… But I’m not like I was. I’m sober now, for the most part. And besides, I’m in Melanie’s life now… so we need to get along.”

Rica sighed, and he took a step forward. “… I resented you for a long time… and when I found out about Melanie… but I need to get over that, for her.”

He shook his head. “… I guess, what I’m trying to say is…”

Rica paused, and then that terrible smirk appeared on his face. That smirk always meant Rica was about to say or do something wildly inappropriate, and it was no different this time. He suddenly stepped forward and threw an arm around Kanna’s waist and pulled her to him, and Rica kissed her.

Lavan laughed as suddenly, Caesar was engulfed in flames. It was the perfect opportunity for him, and really, the man probably made far more problems for himself by getting trapped in a metal set of power armor. Sure, it protected from outside heat sources, but if the vents were aflame, the armor was in deep trouble. Sure, it probably had some sort of a secondary safety system built in and ready to fire off in case things got too hot... But Lavan expected that sort of thing from Enclave armor by now.

He couldn't quite melt Hellfire Armor, but he sure could do stuff both inside and outside the suit.

"Hey! See-zar! Welcome to the latest episode of "Cooking Pot", hosted by yours truly, the amazing Chef Razy!!!"

And with a grunt of effort, Lavan took all that heat that was being produced by the flames around the suit, took all the heat from the suit's exposed gears and joints, and as much of the heat as he could from the surrounding area... And hyper-compressed it as he jumped forward. The fire vanished immediately, all of it's warmth combining with that of the suit as Lavan dashed right up next to Caesar, slipping under one of the arms of the armor and placed his hand on the hip of the suit.

That allowed him the direct connection for total control. Instantly, Lavan amped the heat already collected in the suit's heat sinks up by several multitudes of desgrees, and channeled it, fusing together joints to make sure Caesar couldn't simply slip out of the armor.

Then, once he felt the joints give, he turned all that heat inward... And proceeded with trying to cool Caesar alive.

Caesar screamed out in pain. His body was burning from the heat, and he was trying to rip the helmet off – but with the joints fused together, it was impossible to get off. Caesar stumbled and fell backwards, trying desperately to get the armor off.

He swung his arms wildly, attempting to knock Lavan away from him, but in mere seconds Caesar collapsed to his knees. The human body could only take so much heat. Between the super-heated armor encasing his body, the lack of ventilation and all of the heat Lavan had just forced upon him; Caesar was roasted.

Caesar fell forward onto his face. The tyrant of the Legion, the most notorious Slaver in the world, was dead.

Nanami stepped forward and lowered her bow. This attempt at killing a world leader had worked out much better than the last. She looked around, but the few remaining Frumentarii had fled.

She walked over to one of the fallen Frumentarii and retrieved the machete from his belt. Then she walked back over towards Caesar, and looked to Lavan.

“Get his helmet off. Hopefully seeing their leader’s head on a stick will get the Legion to abandon Hoover Dam.” Nanami said simply.

… Only Nanami can be so casual about chopping off a dead guy’s head.

Kanna and Rica had a long and complicated relationship. There was once a time where she loved him (or at least she thought she did) but that was so long ago...Kanna's temper often got the best of her when she was with the man, as well as her constantly comparing the man to her late husband. She couldn't stand to stay with him, she'd much rather be alone forever. So she left with her son who was just confused of why they were leaving another perfectly good house.

Then Kanna realized she was pregnant. And she decided not to tell Rica. She was a terrible person.

“… I’m sorry. I f-cked up. I wasn’t there when I should have been, and… and you were right not to tell me about Melanie.”

And yet HE was apologizing.

And then he did something totally unexpected. He pulled her forward and kissed her. At first she stiffened , debating stumbling back and smacking the guy in the face....But she didn't, instead she accepted the sudden kiss. Of course it couldn't last forever.

"W-What was that for?" She asked breathlessly when she moved back.

Safe House

Sarai stared down at her feet, still clinging tightly to Connor's arm. She was kinda mad that Connor didn't fight this totaly stupid idea...She hated that he would just willingly put himself in danger...What if something happened to him!? What if he died?

She didn't want to be without him.

He was so greedy.

When Kanna broke away, Rica ran a hand through his hair. He had no idea what he had been thinking doing that. He hated Kanna for all she had done to him… her actions were unforgivable. He should want to shoot her and bury her in his backyard…

… and yet, he didn’t. Rica was no stranger to violence and malice, but he just could not bring himself to keep hating Kanna.

"W-What was that for?"

“… I don’t know. Call it nostalgia.” Rica shrugged.

Some angry guy from Chicago will yell at you over nostalgia.

[Safe House]

Connor looked over to Sarai… and one glance at her face told him that she was mad. She didn’t like this plan, Connor knew that… but Connor had to go forward with it.

After all… It was their only chance now. Connor’s stupid, selfish need for revenge had gotten them in trouble. Gallic had them now, and he could kill them… if they didn’t remove Autumn, then they would surely die by Gallic’s hand.

Still, Connor hoped to find a way out of this.

“Eugene, why don’t you go get the information we need? We’ll work out the plan.” Connor said, hoping to get rid of Gallic’s agent so he could talk to his friends.

“I'll see about getting his schedule for you then,” Eugene said, turning and walking out of the kitchen, “It might take a couple hours, but it shouldn't take too long. At the least, I can get the planned events and meetings. Anything off the record might be more difficult.”

After Eugene left, Edda sighed, turning towards Connor and the others.

“...We do have another avenue we could pursue...” Edda said carefully, “If we get the chance to escape, make it into the wilderness. It would be difficult, but with your healing abilities, Chloe's strength, and my knowledge, the four of us stand a reasonable chance to make it to New Vegas, and from there to the NCR. It's certainly not full proof, and it'd be hard and dangerous, and there's no guarantee we'd have much besides the clothes on our backs for the start, but I'd say it's doable... I know a couple places we could get some supplies once we get far enough from the Enclave borders...

“But it's up to you Connor. This your fight. Your choice to let go of revenge or try something else...” Edda said. He didn't really like the idea of revenge, even if it was against someone like Autumn. He didn't see much point in it.

Of course, he'd probably think differently if his parents had been decapitated and sent to him in a box by Autumn.

-Hoover Dam-

“No...”

Cess stepped forward, looking tired and worn out, “That's going too far Nanami. He's dead, the Legate is dead, the Legion is fleeing. The Securitrons and the NCR are running them down. Any who survive aren't even going to be strong enough to worry even the drugged out raiders in the area.”

Sarai relaxed a bit when Eugene left, though she still seemed very annoyed at Connor's willingness to die. Edda seemed to have a different idea though....Sarai bit her lip, unsure how she would fair in the wilderness...Sure the others would be fine, but she wasn't smart...She wasn't strong...She could barely speak....She didn't want to weigh them down.

"I wouldn't mind becoming forest people" Chloe said, a smirk on her lips. Dealing with bears and crap seems a lot better than Gallic and Autumn.

Camp McCarren

"Nostalgia...." Kanna mumbled, running a hang through her long hair. "Awww Rica I thought you hated me" she added sarcastically with a smirk. "I can't believe you're turning into a softie...Still smell like booze and im pretty sure your a womanizer...But a drunk, womanizing softie."

Flashback (because I love them)

Kanna needed money. Kain was dead and she was running out of cash. Even when he was alive her husband didn't have a lot to her name so when he was killed in the games she was forced to make some decisions. She was supposed to be staying with Samuel, Kain's old friend, but that idiot went and volunteered for the Games....In her place.

And he had won. By some miracle he had managed to make it. He would be one of the richest men in the city when he got back...Maybe he would be willing to throw some cash her way. But for he was still gone. Kanna was starting to wonder if he'd ever come back...Well no use in waiting....

So that meant Kanna had to work. She had managed to take up work in a local bar, a dirty smoky place full of men who were much too loud and grimy for her tastes, but they tipped well...Her only responsibilities were bringing out food, cleaning the bar and sometime pouring drinks, a good amount for a woman who was also half watching her four year old son in the back room. Jason didn't much care about what was going on in the front room, instead he colored away alone, sometimes being joined by his mother as she took a break or escape the crowd.

Kanna was glad her son was probably too young to think about being stuck around these men. Hopefully he would grow up and not be like any of these men.

Well....Maybe one guy...Kanna sometimes say a darkhaired man come in, looking grumpy and already tipsy, taking a seat at the bar and asking for something strong. She recognized him from television. He was one of the Victors. He interested her, especially because she watched him so closely on TV. He was in the same Game where her husband died.

She probably shouldn't have been attracted to someone like that. AND JASON SHOULDN'T END UP LIKE RICA.

Connor frowned, crossing his arms and leaning back against the counter. He was conflicted, and Edda’s idea had a certain appeal to it.

“… Even if we can escape from the Enclave, they’d all be looking for us. It would be a real challenge to get away from their borders, and if they capture us again, they’ll torture us. Probably kill us.”

Connor sighed. “… I told you before, I’m over my desire for revenge… but we have a chance to undermine the Enclave. There has to be a way we can do some damage and escape in the commotion. It might be our best shot.”

Connor glanced to Sarai. “… I just want us to be safe.”

[Camp McCarren]

“Considering I’ve killed about forty people today, I’m not sure I’m a softie.” Rica said with a grin. He leaned against the wall and sighed, closing his eyes.

“… I just want to do what’s best for Melanie. So… we should get along.”

That and he might want to sleep with you. But for once, Rica’s not sure about that. :o

[Hoover Dam]

“I wasn’t asking your permission.” Nanami said coldly. She turned to Cess, stone faced and with a grumpier than usual expression on her face. “The Legion is still a threat. The Legionnaires are still fighting against the NCR. Not all of them know the Legate is dead, and they don’t know Caesar is dead yet. Showing them is the best way to make them flee.”

She shook her head. “Besides, the Legion still has an army in Arizona. They need to know they were utterly defeated. You don’t agree with my methods, then go back up the NCR.”

She’s such a people person.

[Flashback]

The door to the bar opened, the bell ringing, and in stumbled Rica. He already smelled like whiskey, and was wearing the same ratty navy-colored coat he always slumped around in. He had not shaved in three days, and he wore his sunglasses indoors, mainly because the hangover made him sensitive to lights.

Rica was a ‘Victor’. He hated the title. He never felt very victorious. The only reason he had survived the Hunger Games was because of his powers, and a little dumb luck. Now all he wanted to do was forget all the people he had slain.

He walked over to the bar and dropped down on the stool.

“Booze.” He muttered.

"Do you really think you can get both?" Chloe asked, straightening up "Getting to the Enclave AND getting away sounds damn near impossible...And i'm usually all for impossible scenarios."

Sarai stayed quiet, getting up to get some water, she needed something to distract her from the situation.

“… I just want us to be safe.”

"Y-You don't seem to care very much about yourself" Sarai mumbled.

Camp McCarren

"Eh, you'd have to kill a lot more people in my book to get away from being a softie" Kanna told Rica, leaning in. "Alright, we have play nice. But you have to keep your hands to yourself like a big boy"

Kanna stepped back. "Last time I checked we aren't teenagers.

Flashback

Kanna raised her brow when Rica stumbled in, throwing himself on a chair and mumbling something about booze. She found herself watching him for a moment before coming over with an empty glass.

"You have to be more specific. This is a bar" she told him, not meaning to be quite so condescending, but stating the obvious none-the-less. She then stated something equally obvious. "You're that Victor"

"Y-You don't seem to care very much about yourself"

Connor blinked. He knew that Sarai was upset… and now he was starting to get an idea of why. Could it be because he had offered himself as bait?

“… I care about what happens to me… but I’m the one who got us into this mess.” Connor said, looking over to her. “So, I should be the one to take the risk to get us out of it.”

[Camp McCarren]

Rica smirked like a fiend.

“I make no promises.” Rica admitted, although in truth he was a lot less likely to be ‘hands on’ than in other RPs. “Speaking of teenagers, we should check in on Melanie and Galv.”

[Flashback]

Rica looked up at Kanna and grunted. He really was not in the mood for sarcasm, but he had run out of booze in his home so he needed to venture out to the bar.

“… yeah. I am. So I need alcohol.” Rica said bluntly. “Mix some scotch and some vodka.”

I have no idea what happens if you mix scotch and vodka but I’ll just assume it would kill you.

Sarai didn't seem very happy with that answer. "B-But what happens if you get killed!? How will that help us! You c-can heal people, someone like you shouldn't be t-thrown to the wolves like that. Y-You're special"

Kanna rolled her eyes but gave a nod, heading back out to see Jason staring down Melanie, who was still close to Melanie.

"First fatherly duty, get red off our daughter before you become a grandpa" Kanna told him.

Flashback

Kanna frowned, doing as she was told and wrinkling her nose at the smell...It was like old dirty soap and grass...Despite the fact that Rica may blow up she handed him the drink and then moved to offer him a cigarette. She had been here long enough to realize that most people did the two actions at the same time. "Anything else I can get?" she asked, trying to get a better look at his face....

What kind of d-bag wore sunglasses inside?
