Gallic smiled, “Free the Avoxs? Of course then. I'll send them to the District. Let them try to find a job of their own, support themselves, find shelter. Perhaps they won't die of starvation before the elements get them... Because, you know, that's what freedom entails, dear boy. The freedom to fail. The freedom to die.”

Gallic leaned forward, staring hard at Connor, “Right now at my mansion there they have relatively good lives. Yes, their tongues are gone, and between you and me I think that practice rather barbaric for our society, much like the Games.”

He paused for a moment, letting them reflect on that.

“But they get decent meals, a warm place to sleep, and the last man who tried to beat them I had fired. You never hurt the help. They keep the world turning,” Gallic added idly, leaning back now.

“Now then...as for what I want... There are many things. I would like Autumn removed from the picture. I would like the Games to end so the great people of Panem can focus on something important and productive. Perhaps, these goals run concurrent to yours.”

-Camp McCarren-

“No,” Galv said, shaking his head, “Definitely not. Your dad would probably try and kill me... Or try and find something worse...”

“We are friendly with the Panem Rebels because it's leader knew our President some while ago,” Peterson said flatly, “And we believe in their cause, and don't like the Enclave either. We fought them ourselves not too long after the Flare, when we were just getting on our feet.”

And would have lost against the Enclave if the first Rebellion, that ended up starting the Games, hadn't forced the Enclave to pull their troops back within their own borders and keep them there.

“I want to help you. I really do. But either we do this my way, or you can take the next Vertibird back to Panem,” Peterson said lowly.

Samuel frowned, “Rica, going ballistic on the NCR will just further set us back...”

-Cottonwood Cove-

“Right...” Hammah said, then paused, looking towards the Mister Gutsy, who would be a bit conspicuous.

He focused, and the robot floated off, heading up the hill.

“I'm gonna have it over look us. Send me messages on the Pip-Boy if it sees any Legion or anything else getting near us,” Hammah told her, holding his left arm up, which had the Pip-Boy on it.

[Outside Camp McCarren]

A dust cloud rose over the road as something approached the camp's location at pretty damn high speeds, roaring like some sort of monster. The closer the dust cloud came, the more it was obvious that it was not a monster... But an old motorcycle, tricked out to the limit and changed almost beyond recognition.

There was a man on the seat of the bike. He had red hair, wore a pair of shaded goggles, and had a lab coat billowing behind him.

He was lying down backwards on the seat, his legs controlling the handlebars, the clutch taped to the handle to constantly provide acceleration.

Every once in a while, he peeked at the road underneath him, but didn't change his course much. Thankfully, the road was flat and unhindered towards the old airport that was Camp McCarren, so it wasn't exactly a problem for the pyro to control his bike in such an awkward, strange way.

He did approach quickly though. The bike itself reached speeds of around 100 miles an hour, and it wasn't showing any sort of hint of slowing down.

The gates were closed and locked tightly, and several soldiers were guarding it outside as Lavan came barreling towards them.

They stood there, holding up their guns, waiting for now to see if he would slow down.

If not...they would open fire.

Sarai was quiet for a moment as Gallic explained what could possibly be wrong with releasing the Avoxes..And how they were actually better off at Gallic's estate...This made Sarai go rather red in the face, not from embarrassment, but from anger. Instantly she was clutching Connor's arm in a death grip while also staring daggers at Gallic. Some sort of boldness came over her and she instantly spoke.

"Don't y-you dare s-say that they a-a-are better off h-here!" she growled "W-We're not happy, w-we're n-not even content with the a-arrangement! M-Maybe you can't be b-bothered to beat tt-them, but that doesn't m-mean it d-doesn't happen! W-What about a-all the others wh-who aren't in y-your estate!? They're b-being tortured!"

If there was anything Sarai was passionate about it was her fellow Avox.

Chloe raised a brow at Sarai's outburst, before looking back at Gallic. "So you want us to help you further your own goals? Typical. And a pretty stupid assumption to think we'd be willing to help the face of those damn Games...Even if you think they're barbaric."

Camp McCarren

"Hey, better them then my mom..." Melanie said, trying to imagine Kanna's reaction...Especially to the tub thing....Yeah.....No. "Maybe we could talk to Jason then? I mean he's still a lot like my mom, but i'm pretty sure he wouldn't try to have you assassinated"

Connor had never see Sarai so angry. She was practically shaking as she clutched onto his arm, and she was also very boldly standing up to Gallic himself. Connor was very proud of her for being so bold… although this seemed like a bad time to choose to get bold.

Connor looked to Gallic, and inspired by Sarai, he tried to be bold too.

“… Let all of the Avoxes under your control go. Give them food, and safe transportation to the District.” Connor repeated.

[Camp McCarren]

“The only thing in this world I care about is my daughter.” Rica said flatly. He sighed. He really wanted to shoot Peterson right now, but taking out the entire NCR at McCarren would probably be even harder than killing everyone in the Legion at Cottonwood Cove.

“… Fine. We’ll do it your way.”

[Cottonwood Cove]

“… Pretty good, kid.” Nanami said to Hammah, impressed by his creative use of the robot.

Soon the two were at the edge of the water, and Nanami put her hands into the water. Slowly, a small platform of ice formed on the surface of the water, large enough that they could board it.

“Coast clear?” She asked Hammah.

“They are better off at my estate, then living in the District with no food or shelter,” Gallic said coldly, turning to Sarai and looking straight at her.

“Obviously they would be best off fully restored and living their own lives without having to worry about such things, but we do not live in a perfect world. You seem to be under the impression I can snap my fingers and get or do whatever I want. You children assume that those with power can get away with anything. But that's wrong. Not if one wants to keep their power. Squeeze too hard, and you either get revolution, or you're unprepared to deal with outside forces...” Gallic said. He sighed, turning his attention back to Connor.

“And then what, dear boy? Am I suppose to get them jobs? Am I suppose to make sure they have housing? Will I then make sure their new employers don't take advantage of them?” Gallic asked calmly, “How does that change their situation now? If you want me to give them freedom, then I will grant your request. I'm just making sure you know of the consequences of your actions.”

His eyes looked towards Sarai again, for just a moment, before returning to Connor's, “Even the noblest of intentions can have horrifying results... Perhaps they will find a better life. Perhaps they'll die cold and hungry within a week of gaining this precious thing you call freedom.”

Gallic retrieved his drink, taking a small sip.

“And Ms. Sanchez, you assume I need your help. I would like your help, but if you do not wish to give it, then I will simply find other avenues to pursue. If you wish to try your luck getting help from someone else...You are welcome to. I can have the limo stopped and you are all welcome to leave,” Gallic finally added, knowing full well they couldn't do that.

-Camp McCarren-

“Maybe...” Galv said, wondering for a moment where Jason was right now.

Somewhere back at the Strip with Erin.

“Excuse me, do you know where our fathers are?” Galv asked a soldier. The soldier paused, then turned on his radio, talking into it.

After a few minutes his eyebrows rose.

“Follow me,” he said, and turned down the hallway. Galv turned to Melanie, then followed after the soldier.

“Thank you,” Peterson said, then turned, opening the door and stepping into the hallway. Samuel sighed and got up, following after him.

Pausing when he saw two figures running down the hallway, a soldier leading them...

“Rica! It's them!” Samuel shouted, then raced towards Galv as well.

He came to a stop when Galv did, who was looking at his dad warily.

“Ummm...don't worry...it's not my blood...” Samuel said weakly, to his son.

-Cottonwood Cove-

Hammah checked his PipBoy, then nodded to Nanami, “The coast is clear...”

He got on the ice, shivering a little despite the desert heat, staying low to help keep his balance.

Lavan's bike approached until it was just about five hundred meters in front of the gate and the soldiers, and Lavan suddenly flipped forward on the handle, twisting it to the side and letting the bike swerve into an impressive side-braking standstill. Surprisingly enough, even though the tires should have popped from the friction, they weren't even smoking when Lavan stopped the bike just a few dozen meters away from the soldiers who were still pointing their guns at him.

"Yo!"

Lavan jumped off the bike, kicking its di-pod downward so the bike stood by itself on the road and approached the guards.

"I have a question to ask, I'm unarmed at the moment, and I just want some info! Can you guys answer questions, or do you need to call your boss or something?"

He wasn't afraid of the guns pointed at him at all, and seemed to almost relish in any sort of excitement.

The soldiers looked at each other, and one stepped forward, though the others kept their guns at the ready.

“Sure, we can answer some questions,” the soldier shrugged, “What are you, some kind of merchant or mercenary? If you're looking for the Strip, it's that way.”

He pointed down the road. “If you need healing there's a couple Follower outposts that way. If you need work, we could use a few mercenaries for some tasks, or you can try your luck with the Crimson Caravan down that way too.”

Sarai just wanted all the Avoxes free and back to how they used to be. She wanted them to be able to talk, and have freedom...Families...Love...It was everything she wanted when she was one of them...She still was in some sense...When she was an Avox she didn't care if she was on the streets begging for food..She just wanted her freedom and ability to do what she wanted.

"You don't u-understand them. Th-They would g-gladly beg on the s-s-streets or die in the D-District if it didn't mean b-being a slave to you" Sarai said, trying to keep her gaze even. "I w-would have rather died ten times over t-than live safe, with m-my tongue c-cut out, serving C-Capitol pigs like you"

Calm down Sarai. Before you get your wish.

Chloe stared forward at Gallic as he addressed her, knowing he had the upper hand...Sure he would possibly let them go...But that meant they were surely die...The couldn't just wander the Capital streets....The girl leaned back in her seat with a huff, looking back over to Connor to read his face...She wondered if this was something he was actually considering. "What do you think miho?"

Camp McCarren

Melanie's eyes widened when she saw Rica and Samuel, both men looked like they had went through hell.

"What the hell happened to you!?" Melanie blurted out in true Kanna-like fashion, before smacking her hand over her mouth. "Sorry, but GEEZ where did you guys come from!?"

The pyro reached up, pulling the goggles off of his eyes and placing them on his forehead, looking at the two soldiers with his hands in front of him. Sure, he was gesturing and wildly swinging them around, but he held no weapon in those hands, which was one of the effects he was going for.

"Actually... Heh, I'm kinda looking for someone. Well, someone and some things."

He walked up closer to the guards so he didn't have to shout, and continued.

"I'm looking for a girl. Woman. Thing. Sorry, not sure about her age, but she seemed to be just a bit older than I am, about yea high, wears primarily yellow and black like some sort of unholy bee, red eyes, black hair in a ponytail... A look in her eye that screams "I will murder you if you say anything", but that's to be expected out here in the wastes... Also totes around quite a few guns, and last I checked had some bandages left over from some pretty serious wounds. Seen anyone like that?"

He put a hand sheepishly to the back of his head.

"Sorry, I don't actually have a picture to show you."

“You already have a revolution on your hands.” Connor reminded Gallic when he made his point about being careful with how he used his powers. “I don’t expect you to do anything for the Avoxes other than letting them go free, and making sure they get out of the Capitol safely. That’s all I’ve asked you to do.”

Connor was adamant. He could see how important this was to Sarai… and he had seen how scared and miserable the Avoxes looked back in the kitchen at Gallic’s estate. Maybe it was true that Gallic did not beat them, but an unbeaten slave was still a slave, and Connor could not sit idly by and let this chance pass him by.

“I’m fully prepared to make sure they’re safe once they’re in the district. Just keep your word, and let them go. If you do that, once I know they’re safe, I will help you.”

Connor was making a deal with the devil… but he felt like he had no other choice.

[Camp McCarren]

Rica clenched his fist. He followed Samuel out of the room, still partially considering shooting Peterson in the back. He wondered if he could perhaps trade the assassination of Peterson for Melanie…

… and then, Samuel called out. Rica looked up and spotted Galv and Melanie, and his face turned whiter than usual. (Which is no small feat for the pale bastard.)

“M-M-Melanie!” Rica stammered. His heart soared, seeing her here and alive… and he wondered what this meant of Caesar.

He rushed forward and threw his arms around Melanie, forgetting about all of the blood on his shirt and jacket.

[Cottonwood Cove]

Nanami took control of the current in the water and sped them away from Cottonwood Cove. It was a long journey towards Caesar’s camp, but with Nanami able to manipulate the tides they arrived much faster than they should have.

As soon as they were within one hundred feet of the island, Nanami stopped.

“… We swim from here.” She announced. “You CAN swim, right?”

Terror. Fire everywhere. A young boy pleading for his life. An enraged Don Gallic, cutting down another man with a wave of his hand as he hurried to save who he could in the chaos the world had plunged into. Mankind reduced to fighting for it's very survival...

Gallic was rigid for a moment, remembering the trials right after the Flare...It had been so long ago, that no one in living memory knew of those events...Except for Gallic himself, who kept that a quiet secret. He had only trusted two people with that knowledge in the past thirty years...and one of them was dead.

He knew far too well what could happen when humanity had their freedom to do anything...

“If that's what you want...then I will. Provided, of course, you uphold your end of the bargain. As a bonus I'll see about getting them to Connor, to have their tongues healed even,” Gallic said. “But I won't let them go yet. You receive payment when you finish your job, not before.”

“What is the job, then?” Edda asked, finally speaking up. Gallic smiled.

“Of course. As I said before, I am not the only one with power in the Enclave. I can not end the Games with people like Autumn still around. I need him either discredited, dead, or find something that will turn his own men against him. What I want from you four is to do so, by whatever means necessary. I can provide you with a safe house, some supplies, things like that,” Gallic said, “I don't wish to force you into any specific route.”

Gallic didn't really think they could do anything...But they would provide a useful distraction against Autumn.

-Camp McCarren-

“What happened with you too?” Samuel asked, looking towards Galv.

Galv frowned, “...We snuck out, to the Strip. We wanted to see it...”

Samuel sighed, “That was stupid and dangerous of you...”

“I don't care! We just wanted-”

Galv was cut off as his father suddenly hugged him, squirming slightly in the grip.

“Please don't ever do anything like that again...I was terrified that I lost you...like I lost your mother...” Samuel said quietly. Galv stopped his squirming, then returned the hug.

“Oh...I didn't...I'm sorry dad...” Galv said quietly.

“It's alright son...Just...be careful. I don't know what I'd do if I lost you too...”

Back outside, the soldier raised an eyebrow.

“Sounds like that Nanami chick, with those Rebels...” the soldier said, then turned on his radio, talking to someone.

After a few minutes, someone walked out of the doors. And did so literally, the doors not opening, someone simply moving through them.

He was tall, taller then Lavan and Nanami by a couple inches, incredibly pale with black hair and green eyes. Two handguns were strapped to his waist, and he turned to Lavan.

“Hey! It's you! The guy with that annoying name,” Cess grinned, walking towards him, “Name's Cess. Nanami isn't here right now, but I'm charge of the Rebels without her or the old man around. What can I do for you?”

-Cottonwood Cove-

“Yah, my mom taught me,” Hammah answered, then slid into the water, bobbing back up and keeping himself afloat, “Glad this Pip-Boy is water proof...”

Melanie gave out a little yelp when Rica embraced her, the girl still not used to her father hugging her...Though it wasn't that foreign of an action...It reminded her of Jason when she would do something stupid and scare the older boy half to death....Of course she didn't realize that she had done anything to terrify her father.

"Ric-D-Dad we're fine, we just snuck out for a bit. We wanted to be alone... W-What's wrong? And why are you guys such a mess?" she asked, looking up at the older man.

Connor frowned. He had a feeling that Gallic intended to send them on a suicide mission… but then, why go through all of this trouble just to do that? Connor was unsure.

… but an idea was forming in his mind. Connor was taking to rebellion with remarkable easy, and he was quickly forming a (crazy) idea on how he could turn all of this against Gallic and the Enclave, and maybe save the Avoxes too.

“… Okay. Autumn killed my parents, so I’ll help you get rid of him… but we will need some things.”

Connor’s mind was racing. He may only get one shot at this, so he would have to think fast about what he would need to put his half-baked plan into action. It was hard to think under these conditions, but he needed to get this right.

“… We’ll need a secure location, somewhere that Autumn could not easily raid. We’ll also need radios… wait, now… how about a Pip-Boy? Could you get us one of those? They’re rare, but… you seem like you could find one.”

Connor needed a way to contact the rebels, and he knew that Pip-Boy’s were supposed to be unhackable, which would make them safe to use even if Gallic gave them one. Whereas a radio was easy to bug.

“We’ll also need some money, so we can secure provisions, and we may have to bribe some of Autumn’s followers.”

[Camp McCarren]

Rica looked down at Melanie and the drunken old crazy man was tearing up. He had nearly killed an entire camp of soldiers to get her back… and he had gotten himself in a lot of trouble.

“Melanie… please don’t do that again.” Rica whispered. “I thought you were in danger.”

[Caesar’s Camp]

Nanami had disappeared under the water. She did not seem to need to come up for air for a very long time, and did not emerge until they had reached the shore. They were at the far side of the island, under the long hill where Caesar’s camp stood.

Nanami shook the water out of her hair, and waited for Hammah. (She was the better swimmer of the two given her powers).

“… I guess we’re here. The Bunker is at the top of the hill. Now we just need to sneak around without being seen…”

Lavan just grinned in return, walking up to Cess and sticking his hand out for a friendly shake.

"Hey, you're that random driver dude! Cess, is it? Nice to meet ya proper with time to talk then!"

He pointed his other hand's thumb over his shoulder.

"I just came rolling up after escaping lockdown in Old Man Sensei's place. That weird Spork guy may be weird, but he helped me trick out that beastie properly. It's missing stuff though, so I'm looking for guns, parts, fuel, and a Nos system for it."

He looked over Cess's shoulder.

"... And for red-eyed queen of negative too. Where is she, anyways?"
