Tribute's Train A voice spoke out. "So we meet again." Shizuo was leaning against a wall, chewing on a toothpick, looking at Van. "I saw you..and you're the only person I know, other than that Izaya." He grits his teeth a bit, just mentioning the name. "So I was thinking, if there's anyone I'd like to be teamed up with, I'd prefer it to be you. Mind if I come in?" -- Shipper was sitting at a table, sipping on a drink. He saw the other tributes, but only one interested him. The youngest one among them. A girl. With red hair. She was young than he. And he naturally felt the need to meet her! So many people to meet! It was exciting but he was nervous. He messes with his bandana. He couldn't bare to kill any of these people... |

[Tribute’s Train] Connor frowned. He supposed in some way Chloe had a point… but Connor still didn’t see any reason to be so rude. When Chloe warned Sarai about Connor’s promises, however, Connor frowned and reacted. “Don’t say that! I’m going to keep my word… somehow…” Connor frowned, realizing just how hopeless his case was. […] Van blinked for a moment and looked over to Shizuo. He frowned, noticing the young man was here as well. “So you got chosen too… damn, that’s just bad luck. Sure, come on in.” […] Shinji just grinned. His plan was working. He already had a ‘strategy’ figured out for the Games. He would grab whatever supplies he could, go hide with a pretty girlie, and wait for the stronger Tributes to kill each other and tire themselves out. Then he could use her as a meat shield to take out the others. It was his best chance… plus it meant some fun times with said girl in hiding. Yep, Shinji’s a saint, ain’t he? “Hey, a little company can’t hurt in these Games, right? Just stick with me… do what I say… and I’ll keep you alive.” |

Tribute’s Train "Yeah yeah, keep telling yourself that but also think about the fact that even if you win you probably won't get to see her again. She'll be stuck here serving snotty kids while you're living it up in the Capitol." Sarai bit her lip...This girl was talking like she wasn't even in the room, though by now she should have been used to it. [...] "I thought that's what our partners were for...Do you not have one?" Melanie asked, attempting to back up a few steps. She wasn't used to being so close to someone...Sure she had kissed boys before, she was rather popular in school and had many friends and a few boyfriends at times...But this felt weird. "M-Maybe I should go" |

I can't see what you're imagining

-The Capitol: Holding Area- The woman frowned at Lavan, immediately disliking him. Her frown was a familiar one to her, use to dealing with people she found annoying. “Just follow me, and if you try anything...” the woman said, then pointed to the side, where two very large men in powered armor stood, having been outside of Lavan's cell and out of his sight the entire time. “Then these two men will be forced to bring you back to your old cell.” The two men grunted through their helmets, staring at Lavan. “You may refer to me as Douglas,” the blonde haired woman then continued, turning away and walking off. Unless Lavan attempted something, Douglas would lead him through a winding maze of the tunnels, coming to a stop near a large metal door. “These rooms Mr. Gallic keeps for...special guests,” Douglas explained. She typed in a code, not caring if Lavan saw it, the door opening. The room was...oddly large. It was a bit Spartan, not much in regards of decoration, but there was a bed, a vent, some weights, and even a TV in the wall. “There's everything you'll need in here. Your meals will be come at six in the morning, noon, and six in the evening,” Douglas added, “Do you have any further questions, and I remind me, my time is short, so I will not tolerate any stupid questions.” -Tribute's Train- “Hello! You're Kxs, right?” Ila wondered, glancing towards the girl, then turned to Hammah, “And you're Hammah...” She grinned, “Don't worry, I'll do my best to make sure at least one of you lives! So I also hear you also already know each other...” “Yah...we're friends...” Hammah said sadly, looking down at his feet. While Kxs had been more Jimi's friend then Hammah's, the two still got along well. “Alright then, no secrets! What kind of abilities do you have?” Ila asked. “...I don't have any...” Hammah answered, with another frown. “Well then what are you good at, any weapons?” Ila asked again. “Ummm...I'm good at building things, and working with machines...” Hammah said. “Well building things could help in making traps...” Ila said, tapping her chin, “But you don't really get to work with machines in the arena...” She shrugged, then turned back to Kxs, “What about you?” When Melanie left, Galv took a deep breath, turning back to Rica. “...I want to make sure Melanie wins,” Galv answered, “My father stepped forward to save her mom in the past...I guess it's my turn to save her daughter...” He was leaving out the part of him having a crush on the girl though... “Darn it, this is going to be annoying...” A blond haired young man frowned, sitting in the dining area and considered his options. “I have the speed advantage, provided the pylons aren't on...” he muttered, “And I probably have better survival training then anyone else...I wonder what the arena will be. Hope it's not a desert, I'm least experienced with that stuff...and all the sand slows me down.” Edda sighed, leaning back, “Well I better get started eating. I'll need all the calories in the arena...” -The District- “Jimi, is something wrong?” Agoi wondered, looking back and seeing Jimi talking with Cess. He paused, then hurried back. “...I know you...” Agoi said, pointing to Cess, “Yah...we met, a couple years ago...” Cess paused, then grinned, “Oh yah, Spork! I got you a job a couple years ago, repairing something.” “I remember, thank you,” Agoi nodded, “Did you need someone for another job?” “I'm not very good with machines, not like my dad,” Jimi said, frowning, “That's more...Hammah...” He sighed, trailing off. Cess frowned, shaking his head, “It's...not about that...listen, can we talk somewhere, in private?” Agoi glanced back towards his wife and daughter, then to Cess. “...Fine...” Agoi nodded. He had a suspicion... |

The Capitol: Holding Area “Just follow me, and if you try anything...” Lavan blinked. "Wait, whut? Did I say something that made you misunderstand me? Because I never said anything about trying anything funny, or anything really. I just said that I'm not all that house-trained, I'm NOT great with animals, and I certainly don't do well with authority. Don't worry! Your everything is safe while I am around! It's not you I have a pork with!" He paused then, looking at the two power-armored troopers, and grinned. Just a second later, he was already poking all over the metallic frame, as if curious about its general consistency, functions, and even weaponry. And he was QUICK about it. Before they could even think about bringing weapons to bear, had already clambered over both of them like a rabid monkey, studied them, and was innocently standing beside the woman. "Cool power armor! Hope it doesn't shut down when you need it most! Because Power Armor can get miiighty unreliable that way..." When they started to walk, however, Lavan just refused to shut up. "Say, what is it with this place? Why are there so little people here? Why aren't there any dogs? Do you think I can grab a hot dog here somewhere? What about you, do you like hot dogs? Because you don't look like the type to like twinkies. What about that door? Why is that door closed? Why isn't it opening when I come close to it? Say, wouldn't it be cool to have a door that could PUNCH people? I had this one dream once where a door punched me in the face, so I had to blow it up. But then each of its pieces tried to punch me in the face too! It wasn't fair at all. Strength in numbers never wins properly!!!" And he kept ranting, and ranting, and ranting... Until he was finally led to the room where he would be staying in, only to spin into it with a loud squeal of happiness. "YAY! This is SO much better than that danky cell and used bed mattress! SO much better! Heeeeey, weights! I bet I can make something ludicrously inventive with a pair of weights, a lot of rubber bands and some glue... And maybe a pinch of potassium chloride. Would make one HELL of a bang!" He sighed. "Still, glad to be here now, lady. And thanks for not being a total evil jerky witch. I will now remember the fact that someone is actually calm and listens in this place! Whee! Say, I got one last question for you while I'm at it." He pointed at her hair then. "HOW s it that EVERY SINGLE office businesswoman has their hair in a bun? Is that some sort of union or something? Or do you just like looking like others?" |

Tribute's Train Shizuo walked in and sat down in a chair. "I suppose I did..." He sighs. This was the last year. Why couldn't he have been avoided? "Some other people here are fairly...creepy. I've seen them, sewing their little seeds. Makes it that much harder. I imagine the Careers are already assembling." He rolls the toothpick around a bit in his mouth, thinking. "So listen, you seem calm and mellow enough. I can't work with anyone who isn't like that...I'm thinking, maybe we should work together. I'll guard you from other tributes if you help me live. I'm not much a hunter or gatherer, so I was hoping you could help with food." He grunts. "I understand if you say no." --- Shipper looked up and saw another guy...by himself. "Hey! Pst! Hey?" He leans forward. "You..going to eat any of that?" He asks, gesturing at a few fruits Eda had gotten. He heard the guy wouldn't fare well in deserts. Or was it desserts? Either way, Shipper was smiling away. |

Tribute's Train "I have some telekinetic abilities as well as some sort of solar power. I also made a weapon that's...kinda like a mix between a tazer and a flashlight," KxS answered. Seeing that she probably had more than she needed, she looked at this lightning stick she kept on her belt at all times. You know, just in case. "Hammah can have it though. I hardly ever use it...and it might serve him better than it can serve me." The District So Cess somewhat knew this family? Shimera was becoming more and more curious. She had to continue following him around. Shimera the spy, sneaking on boyfriends everywhere. |

[Tribute’s Train] Connor frowned. He didn’t know what to say… Chloe had several good points, but he had to remain hopeful. Even if he was pretty sure he would die, and never be able to keep his promises to Sarai… he had to try. “Stop it.” Connor snapped at Chloe. “Just stop being so negative!” […] Rica frowned, looking down at Galv. It was a shock when the boy admitted that he wanted Melanie to win. It was a difficult request… neither Melanie nor Galv would be favored to win these Games, and although many underdogs had won in the past, it was usually luck. “… I’m guessing you realize that her winning will mean your death.” Rica said, looking down at the redhead. “Of course you do… Melanie isn’t a fighter. If you’re serious about this, the best chance you have to keep her alive would be for the two of you to be the last two standing… and then to let her kill you.” Rica bent down, looking Galv in the yes. “Are you really sure about this?” […] Van shrugged his shoulders. “Honestly… I’m hesitant to work with someone, since… well, only one of us can one. Still… I guess it would be easier to survive with someone to watch my back, and it’d be nice just to talk to someone.” Van rubbed the back of his neck. “And hey, maybe we can get lucky and one of us will get killed off before the end.” It was the grimmest joke he’d ever told. […] Shinji shrugged his shoulders the moment she mentioned his partner. “Oh, I have one… he’s a complete psychopath. Some guy they suspected of spying on the Enclave, they forced him into the Games as punishment. Plus, he’s a dude. He already told me he’ll gut me first chance he gets.” Shinji looked back at Melanie. “I’d much rather spend all my nights in the Games with you… so you should stay…” No Melanie, you should go. Go now. |

Tribute’s Train Chloe shrugged "So I should be optimistic about the fact that we're all about to die? Okay! Hopefully they won't torture us too badly first! There's some optimism for you" She then turned on her heel, turning the knob of the closet. "Fine then, enjoy yourself with some Avox girl, it's not gonna help your chances in the game, if anything it's gonna get you killed faster. But I guess that's good for me, one less tribute to fight." And with that the girl left Connor and Sarai in the tiny room that smelled of chemicals. The two teens were hit with an awkward silence, but that was normal for Sarai. Sarai kept her gaze low until Chloe left, looking up at the boy with wide eyes. She hoped the girl wouldn't tell anyone about them... [...] Meanwhile Chloe stomped back into the dining car in an annoyed huff. She really shouldn't have cared what that boy was doing but he was her partner! Her chances were lowered quite a bit with a guy who was hanging around Avox girls... Did he not understand that she didn't want to die?! She may have come here by choice but she had people back home she wanted to see again. The girl gave a groan, grabbing a piece of bread and slathering honey on it. [...] Melanie wondered if Galv would be willing to gut her like Shinji's partner...After all he'd be wanting to go home too..She supposed trusting this boy in front of her wasn't any worse than making friends with Galv...So she gave a little nod. "Fine then..." she said quietly, twisting a strand of hair nervously. "I'll...Stay" A sense of doom came over the girl. Capitol Streets "Where are we going?" Jason asked, rushing alongside Kanna as they made their way through the city streets in a rush. Kanna seemed determined to do something. "I'm cashing in my connections" Kanna said, not slowing down a bit. Hours had past since they had watched Melanie leave on the train to god-knows-where to most likely die...Kanna was desperately trying to find people to sponsor her child, in effort to keep her alive during the games. So now she was heading through town meeting with many of the men she had met through the years of trying to keep her children out of the games. Jason was here for protection...That and he wouldn't let her go back into the Capitol alone. |

[Tribute’s Train] Connor flinched a bit as Chloe left. He turned to Sarai and took her hands in his. He gave her the best smile that he could. “Don’t listen to her… listen, I know what a longshot all of this is… but I will do everything I can to win, and if I do I’ll find a way to save you too…” […] Coral was wandering into the dining car, munching on a fancy cake. She paused as she noticed Chloe. It was a little awkward to be around the other Tributes, but Coral gave a small wave. “Um… hi.” […] Shinji just grinned. He had her in the palm of his hand. “Good. You’re smart, Melanie. You realize that I can protect you, better than anyone else can. So we have a deal…” |

Tribute’s Train Chloe kept her eyes low until Connor took her hands in his. She couldn't stop them from shaking...And she couldn't help but looking up at him with wide eyes. She then shakily moved forward, hugging the boy tightly. She doubted his plans would work the way he planned but she appreciated him thinking of her...And wanting to help. She stayed there for a moment, feeling weak in the knees. [...] Chloe looked up from her bread, eying Coral. She had never seen the other girl before but that didn't mean much around here...After all they had not been formally introduced to each other- or the nation- yet. "Who are you?" she asked, stuffing another piece of bread in her mouth. [...] "Y-Yeah....A Deal" Melanie said softly. She stepped back and shifted uncomfortably. She wrinkled her nose a bit at the funny taste in her mouth. Tasted like cooties and shaaaaammme. |

[Tribute’s Train] Connor sighed, unable to think of anything to say to Sarai. He knew that his plans were probably going to fail… he knew that he would have to do the impossible to keep his promise… but he couldn’t think that way. When she hugged him, Connor’s face turned a beet red and he hesitantly put his arms around her. The hug felt nice… Connor wasn’t used to these kinds of things. In another time, without the Games looming in front of them, Connor might have looked at this as a really good moment. […] Coral blinked, awkwardly rubbing her left shoulder. “Ah… well, I’m Coral…” She said, frowning. “I’m just a waitress… err, well, I guess I was…” The full weight of her predicament had yet to really settle in. […] “Good… then why don’t we get to know each other better, mmm?” Shinji asked, slinking his arm around her. Ruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuun. |

Tribute’s Train Melanie felt bad about this...Actually she felt horrible but she was trying to keep that paticular feeling at bay. Instead she backed away from Shinji and smiled nervously. "I-I really should be going, I heard we're suposed to have interviews in our rooms soon....I should get ready....I'll see you soon" And with that she rushed out of the car, heading back to her own room. She had only just caught her breath when she opened her bedroom door to reveal a tall woman with bright blue hair....Melanie jumpped back, clutching her chest and catching her breath-again. "You must be Melanie!" The woman exclaimed with a wide grin, ushering Melanie into her room and into a connecting bathroom..."You are quite pretty you know!" "U-Uh, t-thanks..."Melanie said confused "W-Who are you?" "Call me Nyea" The woman said with a smile, before proceeding to tug at Melanie's dress. "Take that off won't you? I've already run you a bath" Instantly Melanie's face went bright red "U-Uh w-w-why?!" she asked "Because, while you are a beautiful young woman you smell of the District..." Nyea said sweetly as if she was discussing the weather. "But i'm from the Capitol" Melanie said with a frown "And why do I need to smell differently? Or take a bath for that matter?" "Because i'm here to make sure you look beautiful for your interview. You have to stand out to the sponsors after all. You and your partner will be interviewed in less than an hour. Now get out of your clothes and into that tub, i'm going to check on the little redhead. He looks like he needs a bath as much as you do!" Melanie frowned, doing as she was told and removing her dress and underclothes before slipping under the bubbles. She had to admit it felt rather nice to be in a hot bath....But it got her mind wandering. She wondered how she needed to act in order to receive even one sponsor gift. she also wondered what kind of gifts she would need in the games...Food? A weapon? The girl sighed, sinking under the bubbles for a moment before breaking the surface again. Her hair stuck to her face and what little makeup she was wearing was gone. She began to scrub her long hair... [....] Nyea had found Galv's room with relative ease, not even bothering to knock before coming in. "Ohhh Gaaaaalv! Time for you to-What smells like booze in here?" She then spotted Rica. "Oh. You." [...] "A waitress? Oh great..." Chloe said, raising a brow. "Well you have a tongue still so i'm guessing you're not an Avox, so I guess you get paid for your work" Chloe leaned back in her chair, eying Coral "How old are you?" |

[Tribute Train] Rica groaned when the door opened and in came Nyea. He paused, offering her one of his usual creeper smirks. “Ah, it is such a delight to see you, my dear… but I’m afraid we’re a bit busy, so why don’t you go wait in my bedroom? I’ll be along in a few minutes.” He’s such a charmer. […] Coral crossed her arms a bit. Chloe’s tone wasn’t exactly the nicest in the world. “I’m sixteen… and I’m a regular waitress.” Coral frowned, walking forward. “And who are you?” |

I can't see what you're imagining
|
-The Capitol: Holding Area- Claire Douglas was silent as Lavan went on and on, simply ignoring him. She had little patience for people like the red haired pyro. Then he asked the question about her hair. She could simply close the door on him, which would give her a certain sense of satisfaction, but she decided to answer him anyways. “I have my hair like this because it's easy and keeps it out of my way,” she answered, “I'm a middle aged woman and I've already passed on my genes. I believe you've already met my son, the man who brought you in.” -Tribute's Train- Edda paused, looking to Shipper, frowning. “Yes...I'm going to eat all of this,” Edda answered, stuffing a cupcake into his mouth and chomping it down, “You can get your own food over there.” He pointed over to a long table with various food. Edda was acting a bit callous, but this kid was a soon to be enemy. Edda couldn't afford to like anyone, even his partner. Only one got out alive after all... “Ohhhh, cool weapon, but you can't use it in the Games,” Ila said, shaking her head, “You can bring a memento, but nothing like a weapon. The weapons in the games are old style stuff, like swords and axes and nunchucks.” Hammah frowned, “My family is very tech based...I kind of know how to use a sword, but I don't have any formal training or anything...” “Well you both have a week to learn!” Ila said, “I'm sure you two are quick studies!” “...No, I won't let her kill me...” Galv said, looking off to the side, “If it comes down to the two of us...I'll take my own life, so she can live...” He sighed, “And I'm certain of this...There's no way I could hurt her myself, and I couldn't bare to let her get hurt by anyone else. So this is what I have to do.” Galv had inherited a lot from his mother. His hair, his height, his powers. But his eyes...they were his dad's eyes. And they were determined to a fault. “...I'm going to go get Melanie now. We'll need to learn to work together...but don't tell her what I said to you. She shouldn't know. She'd blame herself when all's said and done.” Galv was assuming he would be able to beat anyone who went against them and keep Melanie alive...but then he simply refused to think of any of the alternatives. Then a strange woman appeared, looking entirely upbeat to be in a train full of dead kids walking. “...I'll go get Melanie then...” Galv said, walking off, “I won't be long...” It wasn't very long, seeing Melanie and...Shinji...that guy... “Hey!” Galv yelled, stalking forward and glaring at the boy, “What are you doing? Melanie's my partner, not your's...” |
