NYC The soldier paused, seeing her handgun, then shook his head. "That won't do; we're not looking for blood. Take this riot shotgun I managed to snag. Has rubber bullets in it." He tosses the gun to her. The other two soldiers walked back up and joined him; a combat robot, humanoid in shape, approached. "Alright, we need to find whoever thought it was a good idea to start squeezing off shots in the middle of New York. We assume they're on the roofs. That's expensive equipment, and they've already caused thousands in damages already." One of the soldiers grimaced. "Do we have any idea where he might be?" The leader shook his head. "Negative." A sound from his radio buzzed to life. The leader plucked from his belt. "This is Sergeant Bayliss." "Bayliss, we've got the crowds under control. We've got a good deal of people in Madison Gardens." The Sergeant sighed. "Messy morning." |

[NYC] “It's time. Bring on the heavy firepower.” The voice in Sniper Wolf's ear was firm. She knew it was time to ratchet up things. The people on the streets below were running and screaming, and the military was mobilizing along with the police force. Wolf quickly disassembled her rifle and put it away into a bag, which she slung over her shoulder. Then, she took out a small briefcase and opened it, revealing a portable rocket launcher. She hefted it up and then fired – right into the heart of Time Square! There was a massive explosion, flames spewing up into the air and smoke billowing. The people ran, but some were hurt and bleeding, and a few perhaps had died. […] “Damn it!” Samus screamed as the explosion billowed the ground. She accepted the riot shotgun and looked over to Rachel. “We need to find the shooter before the streets are covered in bodies!” […] There was a single jumbotron that had not been shot out. Suddenly, it flicked on – but not with the usual advertisements that were shown. Instead, it was a single man standing in front of the camera. Big Boss. One of the most famous soldiers of all time. He wore his old UNN uniform and beret. His beard was trimmed, and his eye-patch was glossy black. “Attention citizens of the UNN. I am Big Boss. Once, the UNN celebrated me as their greatest champion. A soldier, a defender of the nations and the people... and now I am considered a traitor and a terrorist. Nothing could be further from the truth.” Big Boss continued. “I am a patriot. A true patriot. It is not I who have turned my back on the people, it is the UNN who has turned away from the people. The UNN have betrayed the people, and the nations they once stood for. They have been corrupted with their power, and now it is time to wash away the corruption, with blood, if necessary.” Big Boss crossed his arms. “As a soldier, I am used to the pains of the battlefield. However, I have no wish to force you civilians to endure of your people... comply.” He paused. “... I hope that we can do this without bloodshed... but I am a soldier. If it comes to war, I will not hesitate to destroy the UNN's leadership if they resist. People, I urge you to stand up to your corrupt government and call them out.” |

NYC Bayliss was more than appalled. When the explosion hit, he had his hand on the talkee as soon as possible. "I need some medics, stat. I want some back up over here; prepare some ray shields, something!" He looked up and saw Big Boss's message. He grunts, changing channels. "Cut the jumbotron. I don't know what the hell is going on, but we'll have a riot if he pushes it." He was now shouting into the radio at an unlucky Technician. One soldier turns to Bayliss. "Sir, we traced the rocket to that building over there; rooftop fire, no doubt." Bayliss grunted. "Alright men. Safety's off; we can hope the building's vacant, but if there are any hostiles, do not hesitate to take them. We're going to move fast; up to the roof. You, Private." A soldier looks over. "Sir?" "Feed HQ our coordinates; I want a perimeter here asap." The private nods, talking into his radio. He looks up when he's done. "Let's move." |

[NYC] Samus was going with Bayliss' team. She wasn't going to sit on the sidelines while some wacko took shots from the top of a building. But that message on the Jumbotron... that man... Samus knew who it was. Big Boss, the legendary soldier. He had once been a hero to the UNN, but now he was one of the leaders of Legion... Samus shook her head, wondering how such a good man could end up doing such awful things. […] On the rooftop, Sniper Wolf packed her things and rushed to the edge. She had left some mines by the door, so that if anyone from the police or UNN tried to get onto the roof they would have a nasty surprise. Then, she jumped from the edge of the roof! |

DC: Marine Barracks "I do hope that something good is done, sir..." Didymus said. "As for my plight...I suppose I will, but...there are many, many different ways of being "alright"..." He paused. "I suppose that's all that is going on, sir?" NYC Rachel approached the perimeter. She wasn't the best at combat, she was a much better office worker than soldier, but... "How can I help?" she asked. |

(( Sorry for taking so long )) NYC A few hovercars were on their way; police cars. Bayliss motioned. "The door's locked...you, get it open." The Private Bayliss had been referring to earlier stepped up to the keypad and began hacking it. They could also have sawed through it, but Bayliss needed time. While he got to to work, he turned to Rachel. Clearly a desk jockey. "You have any medical training? Combat training?" |

((Sorry for the delay…)) [NYC] An explosion echoed from the roof! The UNN team had raided the roof, and the mines Sniper Wolf trigger set off. The explosions were enormous, but in what could only be described as miraculous, none of the UNN team was killed. There were several grisly injuries, however. Wolf had jumped to another rooftop, and was escaping… |

NYC Bayliss watched as someone began to jump. Then, explosions. "I need air support!" He shouts to some soldier. He looks to Samus and the other two soldiers. "Lets hit the building from the base up. You, go with the medics up to the building that just nearly blew up, they'll need some help." He shakes his head. A terrorist attack on American soil hadn't happened since the UNN had formed. This was slightly overwhelming for the Lieutenant. He ran ahead of the soldiers and knocked the door in. "To the roofs! Don't let that woman get away!" |
