“Please, you gotta know something… that secret agent guy must trust you or he wouldn’t have brought me here.”

Azmaria hesitated for a moment, but decided that Gemini had some right, at least, to know who was hunting her.

"I don't know...but the lieutenant seems to suspect an occult society from Germany, I think he said...if what he told me about what happened was true, then...they certainly seemed to know those arts...that's why he brought you here...and why we agreed to give you sanctuary."

There was much that Azmaria left unsaid, though she did little, if anything, to indicate that.

Street

Didymus was on his way to the Convent, his mind racing over the intel he had received and how precarious the situation was.

This mission is going bad fast, but not all is lost...still, if something isn't done, it probably isn't going to be just me on the chopping block here...

He had placed orders for his team to meet at the convent, but as it stood, the only reason he was going was to check on its "guests"...

Waterfront safehouse

Another man was snooping around, peering about to ensure he wasn't followed...

[Shady Alley]

In one of the shadier parts of New York, in a darkened alley, Snake was already busy. He had slipped away from Jenny in the night without a word, disappearing in the way only a stealth expert could. Now he was having a meeting with a man who he once called his best friend.

“Ah, Snake. So you came.”

The man in the alley spoke with a strong British accent. Snake had first met him under the codename “Major Tom”, but later he had changed it to “Major Zero”. Zero was formerly from the British Special Forces, but now he worked for MI5.

“Major…” Snake still addressed him by his rank. He puffed on his cigar. “I need to know what’s going on. Last night, I fought a man who had incredible power… you know I don’t believe in superstition, but this…”

Zero nodded. “Yes, Snake. I know. We’ve been monitoring the new administration in Germany for quite some time, and it’s becoming distressing. There are two primary units that answer directly to the Fuhrer and have been investigating the mystic arts. HYDRA and the Thule Society. We don’t know much about either one… but we do know that they’re damn dangerous, and Hitler seems very interested in what they’re doing.”

Snake frowned. “Come on, Major… you have to know more than you’re telling me. I outrank you now, you know…”

Major Zero gave a little smirk. “Hm, but the war is over, and our joint unit dissolved… I’m not sure my government would like me taking orders from the US Army.”

With an annoyed grunt, Snake puffed his cigar once more. “Don’t hold out on me, Zero. This is important.”

“I agree, Snake. It’s very important… unfortunately, that’s exactly why I can’t tell you… and those orders come from both London and Washington.” Zero added with a cryptic smile. He was giving Snake an important clue, though he could just come right out and say it.

Snake’s eye widened. “… Major… is it her?”

Zero turned away. “… No one has seen her since the end of the Great War. Official record from both of our countries say the Boss died in Germany…”

Immediately, Snake shook his head. “I don’t buy it. I never have… The Boss wouldn’t just die…”

Zero turned back to Snake, with an intense look on his face. “If that’s true… if The Boss is still alive… why would that be something to hide? Ask yourself this, Snake… why would America and England both claim that she was dead, when her being alive would be a rallying cry for both of our nations?”

“… They wouldn’t… unless…” Snake was starting to realize. “Unless something had changed… unless she wasn’t the hero she was supposed to be… Major, are you telling me…?”

Zero shook his head. “I’m not telling you anything. I’m in Wales, on vacation. I was never in New York today. Is that understood?”

Snake just grunted.

[Convent]

Gemini frowned. An occult society? The Germans? It was all so confusing… she knew that the rumors about Germany were bad…

“But I don’t get it, Sister,” Gemini frowned. “Why on earth would a Germany cult be interested in me?”

[Waterfront Safehouse]

One of Red Skull’s guards noticed someone snooping around, and immediately headed out. He was dressed like a security guard, but when he approached he spoke in German.

“Who goes there?”

"I...I imagine there could be a number of reasons." Azmaria replied. "Perhaps they're simply doing the dirty work of more conventional forces. Perhaps there is something more..." she said.

"Perhaps you will find out. I heard that a couple were captured..." she said.

Waterfront safehouse

The approaching man simply said, "Orders from the fatherland.", in German.

“GOOD. I have to find out.” Gemini admitted, crossing her arms. “I… Sister, I don’t like the idea of these Nazis coming after me. I don’t know why they want me, but I ain’t going to let them come after me.”

“They were captured?” Another woman stepped out of the building. It was Cherion, who as usual was in one of her impeccable suits.

“CHERION! You’re okay too!” Gemini rushed over and hugged her. Cherion just groaned and pushed her away.

“Yeah. I’m here.” Cherion nodded.

[Waterfront Safehouse]

The guard’s eyes widened, and he lead the stranger inside. He saluted.

“Sir! We have a visitor from the fatherland.”

Schmidt turned around and looked to the newcomer. He stepped forward, and he was wearing his false face.

“You bring orders?”

"Hmmm..." Marco thought about what Musashi said. It certainly was more of an idea than a plan, as Nanami had mentioned, and it also seemed like an idea that as it was, would probably not be something they could get very far with.

"If you have any hope of convincing them that you want to help them, you're definitely going to have to give them a lot of something that they'd want, as well," Marco then said, "Plus, you're going to have to hope, now, that they don't start blaming you for these bombings that have been occurring, the second they see you."

He thought about what he was saying, for a few moments, which caused an idea to hit him.

"For that, it could be interesting to look into possibly trying to find out and help in the capture of, the people that ARE behind those bombings, though..." Marco threw his own idea out there.

That would certainly be fun, considering the mother of Musashi's harem WAS the person behind those bombings; not that any of them knew that.

"...but then they might think you're trying to get into their good graces with a Trojan Horse... Hmmmmm..."

Marco was beginning to overthink things.

"And good morning, Nanamiiiiiii!"

Musashi listened to everything Marco said, and he found himself frowning. Marco made several good points. The US had no reason to listen to him. While he had served here during the Sakura Team, he was still the Prince of Japan and an Imperial Navy Captain… they had every reason to consider him an enemy, and only his word that he was not. Even if they thought he was trustworthy, they would not take him at his word on such an important and potentially deadly situation.

"For that, it could be interesting to look into possibly trying to find out and help in the capture of, the people that ARE behind those bombings, though..."

“Wait!” Musashi grinned, looking over to Marco as if he were a genius. “That’s it! If we capture the terrorist who is attacking New York, that will prove we’re the good guys! We’ll be saving plenty of military and civilian lives… surely the Americans would at least listen to me if we did something like that.”

Nanami groaned. Not just at Marco’s greeting to her, but to the entire idea. Now the Prince wanted to go after a dangerous bomber. The Americans would be looking for them, Kojiro was still out there with a team of deadly assassins, and now they were going to make new enemies. It was adding several new risks to the mission that they didn’t need.

Then again, Nanami thought, Marco, Laila and Adrianna were all risks that the mission didn’t need either.
“It’s a bad plan. How are we supposed to catch this bomber, anyway? We don’t have any information on who could be behind it.” Nanami pointed out. Then, she turned to Marco and finally acknowledged him.
“… I hardly see anything good about this morning.”

Azmaria simply looked on smiling as the convent's guests embraced.

"Yes...that's what I was told, two were captured..." she paused for a moment, reflecting on a number of possible implications of this.

"...I believe that the lieutenant was going to come by this morning to check on you..."

Another sister approached, leading Didymus...

"And there he is." Azmaria smiled.

"Speaking of me?" Didymus asked.

"Well, I hope that you were able to get some rest last night..." he said.

The new arrival smiled.

"Ja, ja...I believe we've recently taken a prisoner in relation to this new assignment..." he said.

“So, we captured two of them? That’s great news!” Gemini cheered. And then she turned when she saw Didymus appear and immediately she rushed over to him.

“Have you learned anything else?” Gemini asked, tilting her head.

Cherion said nothing yet. She would wait her turn.

[Waterfront Safehouse]

“Have you? Excellent.” Schmidt gave a grin. He looked down to the new arrival and wondered why he was here.

“Then hurry up and speak. I have a great many assignments, and if orders have changed, I need to be aware.”

"You could tell them you are the terrorist from the news" Laila said with a shrug "I'm sure the military would line up to talk you then"

The girl meant this as a joke, but suddenly considered the boy would possibly consider such a dumb option so she quickly backtracked "Just a joke, of course"

She then moved to a spot next to Musashi, plopping on the couch and shaking her wet hair into a towel draped around her shoulders.

Rica’s Safehouse

"Somehow I don't think you're that much above keeping some of my old dresses around" Kanna said, looking in the cupboard and frowning at the strange off brand coffee that probably tasted worse than the vodka.

"Fine then, lets go out and get something. " she said, shutting the cupboard and looking to the man. "I could use a bit of food, it's going to be a long day"

Crystal’s Apartment

Crystal grinned and gave a little nod. "I was hoping you'd ask" she said, before turning around and grabbing a mug for coffee. "Though, no one is going to be there waiting for us is there? I mean, i'd rather not end up like your friend"

[Makeshift Safehouse]

Musashi offered a half-hearted smile to Laila as she sat next to him.

“I don’t think that will really work. I’m pretty sure if I confess to blowing stuff up, they won’t want my help… plus, I’m totally innocent on this one. I mean… I did sneak into this country illegally, and we broke into this apartment… and I’ve stolen some food… but come on! Those things aren’t as bad as blowing stuff up, right?”

[Rica’s Safehouse]

Rica chuckled loudly. Kanna always knew how to cut to the bone.

“Maybe I’ll start clinging to your old dresses if you can convince me that things are really over between us.” He smirked, and made his OH-SO-SECRET intentions known. He grinned to her, and then tossed a couple of boxes of bullets into his pocket.

“I know a great diner. Just don’t kill anyone there, okay? They have the best ham sandwiches in town.”

[Crystal’s Apartment]

Sama gave a nervous little laugh and rubbed the back of his neck.

“Well… I can’t promise we won’t run into creepy would-be assassins…” Suddenly, he turned more serious and looked over to her. “But I won’t let anything happen to you. I promise.”

"A bad idea is still better than no idea!" Marco made sure to put a positive spin on his thought process, "even if it's unlikely to get anything out of it. If we find something, then we can run with it, at least!"

He then gave an exaggerated frown towards Nanami.

"...and we're still alive and kicking, 100% healthy, and ready to try and do SOMETHING to get somewhere with this plot for peace. I think that makes this a pretty darn good morning!"

Musashi rubbed his neck. He did have several bad ideas, and Marco might have been right. It could be much better for everyone if he made contact… maybe his best bet was to just waltz right up to a military or government building and ask to see someone.

“You might have a point. I’m scheming, and I think I know what we can do…” Musashi said with a bit of a grim grin on his face.

Nanami didn’t like that. Then Marco turned to her and gave her some puppy dog frown that made her want to punch him in the nose.

“A good morning will be when and IF we actually make any tangible progress. We can plot for peace all we want, but unless we do something to make it happen, then we’ve done nothing.” Nanami said grimly.

She crossed her arm. “There’s no point in getting our hopes up. The fact is, the American government has little reason to believe anything we say, and the Japanese Empire has little reason to obey Musashi instead of the Emperor. Either way, there’s very little chance we can do anything now.”

She’s a killjoy.

"OK then!" Marco clapped his hands together. "Then I guess we're done here, and you two should head back to Japan then, right?! I think I can get you to the piers before the next boat headed back to Japan departs, if that's what you want, Nanami!"

Nanami's nonconstructive criticism was beginning to annoy him slightly.

"Though I'm not sure how Musashi and Laila will like that plan, and I'll be sad to lose your company..."

Nanami’s eye twitched. Now Marco was just trying to piss her off. Then again, while his sarcasm was a pain in the ass, he did have a point. They couldn’t lose this chance… and even if it was a slim chance, what other choice did they have?

“… and I'll be sad to lose your company..."

Musashi decided that was his best chance to strike.

“Marco’s right! If we’re as grim as you say, we might as well just go home and hope my dad doesn’t execute us.” Musashi shrugged. “Besides… you’re not going to dump Marco this fast, are you?”

Nanami smacked Musashi in the back of the head. Musashi whimpered and clutched his head in pain.

“Don’t be stupid!” Nanami growled.

“Have you learned anything else?”

Didymus paused, before finally nodding.

"Yes...they've got several operatives in this area, but apparently they wanted to use your friend for something big..." he said.

"We may even have a fix on them. MAYBE. Something like that, at least."

This may not have been the best thing to say.

Waterfront safehouse

“Then hurry up and speak. I have a great many assignments, and if orders have changed, I need to be aware.”

The new arrival grinned.

"This one comes directly from the head of the SS himself, in special conference with Der Fuhrer...you planned to destroy a monument to the Allies, yes? High command wishes for a more...subtle...approach..." he clapped, and another man brought fourth Diana-bound and gagged, and struggling.

"...and for that purpose, you require us..." he said, and opened his vest to reveal a small notebook with a strange insignia-that of the Thule Society.
