"So... so what's going to happen, then? I mean, they let me stay here for now, and that's good I guess... but even if they do, what next? I ain't one for hiding. I'd rather fight."

Didymus paused.

"I don't know, Miss Sunrise." he said.

"I'll speak to my superiors, but the fact remains that I've brought you here in hopes I can insulate you from further attacks..."

Though I do wonder if whatever power, if any, they have will react adversely with this blessed place...

"...but I don't know what the next move is. If I've gotten all the info I can out of you, then we may just search the city for threats and, if it's alright, basically just say thank you and get out of your life."

"...but for now, I guess this is the next move..."

Gemini frowned.

"I don't wanna get on with my life. I want to do something. How can I just sit here, or just be expected to move on? I might not have a uniform or a rank, but I fought for this country once before... and if they're coming after me and my city, I want to fight again."

Gemini sighed, crossing her arms. She hated the idea of hiding... it ran contrary to all of her instincts.

"... but for now, I'll be good and stay put."

You hear that? Combine that with what ELSE you heard-the REAL reason why you're not on your old team, the pressure it faces. Soon, the remnants of Templar Division may be unseated by the very people they were meant to replace after all...

He shook his head.

"... but for now, I'll be good and stay put."

"...thank you, Miss Sunrise. If indeed they agree to let you stay, I'll probably check on you in the morning."

Gemini nodded, and hugged her knees up to her chest. She hoped that this would be alright. She hoped that somehow, this would all end... that the war she knew was coming would still pass them...

But she knew that was a hope she could not depend on.

"Thanks." She said to Didymus. She was a bit sad, the situation was grim, but she would steel her resolve and press forward.

Didymus raised an eyebrow as Gemini thanked him, but said nothing.

Eventually, the sister came out again.

"We are hesitant to get involved..." she said. "...you know, my parents..."

"I know, sister. I am truly sorry to ask this of you. But if-"

"-HOWEVER...your case is a good one. And it is our duty to grant shelter to those the enemy pursues..." she added.

"...Gemini Sunrise, you may stay within these hallowed halls, and here, hopefully, find some peace. But we do ask that you act in a manner respecting of the location..." she said.

"...thank you, sister." Didymus said. "I should be back daily at least to check on her...please don't hesitate to call if something happens or you have anything you wish to say or-"

"Thank you, lieutenant. And...may God bless you in your endeavor."

"Thank you, sister...I...needed that."

Azmaria smiled at him.

"Of course. Now, I suppose I shall show our guest to her quarters..."

Didymus nodded.

"Of course. I shall be off, then...at least, until the next one arrives, if she's coming..."

He stepped forward.

"This way, please." Azmaria said to Gemini. "I'll show you to where you'll be staying."

[The Next Day]

New York City was in an uproar. A second bombing, this time at a landmark hotel, had the citizens panicked. The police were tight lipped, but they promised that the culprits would be behind bars in a matter of hours. The state's Governor had echoed similar claims, and the state's former governor, President Roosevelt, had expressed his deep sadness and desire for justice.

With two major attacks on one of America's largest cities in such a short time, there was mounting pressure to uncover the cause, and rumors were flying. Some claims a radically anti-government group was to blame, others targeted everyone's favorite scapegoat, Canada. And people with brains believed it might have something to do with the absolute crazy mess that was happening in Europe and Asia.

One thing was for certain... there was tension in the air...

[Makeshift Safehouse]

Nanami had eventually decided that the only safe thing to do would be to find a new safehouse. So, she had made Marco drive them around until she found an area of town with several ritzy townhouses. Soon, she found one that had no one inside.

After she broke inside and checked around, she learned that the family who lived there was on vacation in California. So, Nanami commandeered the townhouse and declared it their new safehouse.

Of course, Musashi was still in an unusual melancholy. He was worried that America would not listen, and that his father would prevent any real progress.

He was laying on the couch, with a sigh, and worrying about everything.

Nanami was in the kitchen, making tea.

[Crystal's Apartment]

Sama had woken up early, and decided to head into the kitchen to scrounge up some breakfast... and to make a call to his contact.

[Convent]

Gemini had woken up early and gone for a walk around the convent. She was tired, but she could not sleep. There was so much on her mind, and there was nothing she could do.

She felt horrible. The problem was, she felt like there was nothing she could do. She was not in the military, and technically never had been. She wasn't sure if the military would even want her help now, considering her lingering support for Musashi.

She sighed, sitting by a statue and hugging her knees to her chest, with her hat tugged down over her eyes.

As Gemini sat there, she may have heard approaching footsteps.

"Sleep well?"

Sister Azmaria stood there, regarding her.

Diner

Didymus handed a waitress his menu, and looked over his notebook.

Alright...first off, check on the convent, see if things are okay there...then it's off to check out any leads, perhaps, that I have...this situation apparently has a lot of people interested...

Gemini looked up and noticed Azmaria approach. She suddenly stood up and shifted awkwardly. Gemini wasn't sure what the proper demeanor was supposed to be when addressing a nun, but her active imagination related it to speaking to one of the fancy military officers she used to see from time to time in the Sakura Unit.

"Oh, well, I reckon I slept okay... but I just can't shake the feeling that I should be fighting and not hiding."

Azmaria paused.

"I...understand. There was a time when I simply wanted to help, help in any way I could...I still do, but...I think I may know the value of patience a bit more now..." she said.

"...but you were being pursued by...dangerous things..." she said.

"...but hopefully you will be able to step forward with the trouble past soon enough."

Crystal's Apartment

Crystal was still asleep on the couch, having retired there for the night alongside the strange detective that she for some odd reason decided to trust enough to let in her apartment overnight.

Luckily she did not end up dead, and in fact was greeted by a rather pleasant scent of food coming from her kitchen. The girl sat up and gave a little yawn, before pushing aside a few pillows and wandering over to her table.

"Good morning" she said , rubbing her eyes.

Makeshift Safehouse

The sound of running water could be heard from another room, only stopping after a few minutes. Eventually Laila walked into the livingroom of their new safehouse, clothed in some garments she found and hair still wet. Silently Laila looked around the room, frowning a bit at Musashi but still coming over.

"You know, you shouldn't make that face. I'd hate for a beautiful mug like that to be stuck in a grimace" she said, walking over to the couch and looking down at him, hair dripping a bit on his face.

Rica's Safehouse

Kanna didn't particularly want to go back to Rica's for the night, but considering she had just blown up her hotel sky high and killed a good hundred people she thought it smart to stay underground.

At about three in the morning Kanna finally passed out, exhausted thanks to her little murder spree and about twelve drinks in the course of four hours. At the moment her head was pounding and she was debating staying under the covers for another eight hours.

She was too old for this....

Homeless Shelter

Samara fell asleep a bit after Blake, not able to do so until the boy's mind was at ease....She was now curled up in a mess of blankets and giving light snores.

Streets

Melanie was exhausted....She and Galv had been searching for Blake all night and even after several hours they had no luck finding him. While the woman was nowhere close to giving up she was tired, cold, and rather nauseous....But she was his mother and wasn't giving up until her youngest child was home safe.

I can't see what you're imagining
-Homeless Shelter-

Blake yawned, waking up slowly, staring at the unfamiliar ceiling. He frowned, then remembered he had ran away from home. He glanced to the side, seeing Samara tangled in the sheets.

Obviously his parents hadn't found him yet. His stomach twisted now, either because of hunger, or the guilt he was now feeling for leaving home. His mother was probably worried sick...

-Streets-

Physically, Galv was faring better then Melanie, but then he wasn't the one who was pregnant, and his electrical powers could keep him going for longer then most.

“Honey...maybe we should go to the police...” Galv suggested, “We can get some more help...”

“Perhaps I can be of assistance.”

Galv paused, an old Asian man appearing from somewhere, shorter then both Galv and Melanie. He gave the two a quick bow, and Galv paused, recognizing them.

“Old Man Sensei!” Galv said, eyes widening, “What are you doing here?”

“The young man, Sage, told me what happened last night. I apologize, I would have been out sooner, but these old bones don't move as well as they use to,” Old Man Sensei said, sighing softly and shaking his head, “But I understand you need help...and more then just finding young Blake...”

-Narroh Residence-

Erin bustled around the table, a pleasant aroma coming from the table, breakfast set up. Erin had things to discuss with Jason, and so she had gotten up early and headed to a nearby diner to pick up a nice breakfast, to help smooth him over.

Not that she really needed it. She could usually get what she wanted from him...

-Gallic Enterprises-

Lily was in the office, making sure everything was prepared. Technically, Ryan was now the C.E.O. of the company, but Lily still had majority stock, thanks to her late adopted father. That, plus Lily had never planned on letting the company get too far from her control.

After all, she found Ryan easy enough to manipulate. He would give her exactly what she needed...

-Hawkins' House-

Sage knocked on the door, looking worried. He was concerned about Blake as well, and had come over to check on Joyce, and see if there was anything he could do to help...

[Convent]

Gemini frowned, and looked up at the sister.

“Dangerous things is right! Just what in tarnation were those guys, anyway?” Gemini asked. “Please, you gotta know something… that secret agent guy must trust you or he wouldn’t have brought me here.”

[Crystal’s Apartment]

“Good morning! I thought I’d cook something as a thank you for letting me hide here.” Sama smiled, acting as if though it was normal to hide from crazy knife-wielding assassins. Which for him, it probably is.

Heck, knife-wielding assassins are actually pretty tame compared to some of the stuff he’s run from. But we’ll get to the evil possessed knife later.

[Makeshift Safehouse]

Musashi looked up at Laila as water from her hair dripped onto his nose. He just sat there, seeming melancholy, but he tried to force a smile for Laila’s benefit.

“Sorry. I just can’t stop thinking about what happened… it seems like nothing is going right… but, I have been thinking… and I think I know what we have to do.”

Oh booooy.

[Rica’s Safehouse]

“Hmm, now this brings back memories. I still recall that night in Paris… I didn’t think I’d get those blood stains out of my coat… and I hoped I wouldn’t get you out of my bed.”

Does every Rica post have to be sleezy? Well, duh.

He grinned from his seat and looked over to Kanna, noticing that she was awake. She looked tired, and hung over… and Rica knew how much she’d hate to show weakness in front of anyone (especially him.)

“I’m guessing we have a big day, today? Murder and mayhem and getting in good graces with the Nazis?”

[Red Skull’s Safehouse]

Across town, in a waterfront safehouse, Johanne Schmidt – the Red Skull – was amused.

The attacks last night had worked. New York was in a panic. He had even heard a radio address from the President, reassuring the public that the culprits would be caught.

But Schmidt had other plans.

Streets

Melanie didn't want to trust the task of finding Blake to the police, after all she was his mother and should have been able to track down her baby no problem....But at the same time she didn't think she'd be able to take much more of wandering aimlessly around the city.

Suddenly Old Man Sensei appeared, announcing that he may possibly be the help the two frazzled parents needed...And truthfully the woman trusted him more than some bumbling police force in finding her son.

"Please, if you know how to find him...He must be so cold and tired."

Homeless Shelter

Samara eventually stirred, having being forced awake thanks to Blake's consiouness. She rubbed her eyes and gave a little yawn feeling a distinct rumbling in her belly that mirrored the boy's.

"You're hungry" she greeted him quietly "You cant starve yourself forever..."

The girl stood up and looked around. When the coast was clear the tiny girl transformed into a young woman once more, looking a lot like an older version of Joyce or a younger version of Melanie. She pushed a long strand of black hair behind her ear and stepped towards him.

"We should go"

Hawkins' House

Joyce hadn't slept much last night, instead opting to wait up half the night for her family to return....None of them did though, and the girl found herself slumped over on the couch.

She almost didn't hear the doorbell ring...But when she did she jumped up and stumbled over to the door in a rush. A second later she threw open the door excepting to see her brother...Or at least her mom and dad.

But it was neither of them. With a little frown the girl calmed down. "Oh, it's you"

She didn't mean that rudely, she was just worried.

Narroh Residence

".....It smells nice in here"

Jason walked downstairs eying the breakfast that Erin had placed on the table. While he was fully aware the girl hadn't cooked it he was more confused on why it was here.

Bribery. So much bribery....But for what.....Hmm-wait. Was that bacon?

He'd worry about what Erin wanted after bacon.

"Good morning darling"

Makeshift Safehouse

Laila raised a brow and gave a coy smile at the boy. "Oh? And what would that be?" she asked "Hopefully nothing too depressing, I don't like that frown, it's a new day and you should take it on optimistically"

Crystal’s Apartment

"Ooooh! Breakfast, usually i'm just stuck with coffee" Crystal said with a smile, coming up behind the boy and looking at the food. "I haven't had pancakes since I was a little girl"

She then kissed his cheek, and moved to the fridge. "What are your plans for today? Keeping quiet and hiding out?"

Rica’s Safehouse

Kanna gave a little groan, rubbing her head "Something like that" she muttered, pulling herself up and looking around. She was fully clothed...That was good, but she also smelled like blood and vodka.

"I wonder how hard it would be for me to get another set of clothes...I can't meet them in this..." she said, walking past the man. "Oh and do you have any coffee?"

Marco was a touch unhappy about the switch from using his place as a "safehouse", but at least the safety of that place would not be compromised.

Being forced to sleep in his car was slightly more annoying, though probably safer for him in not getting shanked by Laila (which seemed quite likely, it seemed), or Nanami for the day's accumulated frustration.

However, as it was morning again, he was allowed back in the safehouse, and was just trying to accumulate some information from any sources he could.

“Sorry. I just can’t stop thinking about what happened… it seems like nothing is going right… but, I have been thinking… and I think I know what we have to do.”

----

"Oh? And what would that be?" Laila asked "Hopefully nothing too depressing, I don't like that frown, it's a new day and you should take it on optimistically"

"Indeed! Don't leave us all in the dark, so we all can figure out how to make sure you survive to tomorrow, as well!" Marco added to Laila's commentary.

[Makeshift Safehouse]

Musashi sat up and he tried to keep the fake frown on his face. He reached out and took Laila’s hand. He wasn’t sure if it was a good idea to pursue anything romantic with her or not… both because of her sister, and also because he was pretty sure if he failed he would be a wanted fugitive.

“Oh, I’m being very optimistic… since this is pretty much the craziest thing I’ve done since I snuck halfway across the world to get to New York.”

Knowing Musashi… oh dear.

Then he looked over to Marco and rubbed the back of his neck. He might as well explain the whole idea.

“I’m going to try to get in touch with your country’s military. Maybe I can convince them to let me help… I know it’s dangerous, and they might arrest me… but I think it could work.”

“Hmph. That’s not a plan. That’s an idea.” Nanami said as she appeared from one of the bedrooms. She looked like her usual grumpy self, but there was something off about her this morning.

“How are we supposed to contact the military?” Nanami asked.

Musashi rubbed his neck. “Well… I don’t know. Maybe Cherion can help us.”

[Crystal’s Apartment]

Sama grinned, happy that she liked the breakfast. The goofy smile stayed on his face until she asked about his plans, and he had to give a little nervous chuckle and rub the back of his neck.

“Actually… remember how I told you I got hurt trying to find something? Well… I have to try again. I know it might be dangerous, but this warehouse key has to be important. Whoever attacked me wanted it, so whatever this key unlocks has to be important.”

Sama took the small bronze key out of his pocket. “I think the warehouse is down by the industrial district. I was going to check it out… I could use some back up, if you’re up for it.”

[Rica’s Safehouse]

Rica chuckled.

“There’s some of that terrible instant coffee in the pantry, just behind the vodka. Or there’s a café just down the road that we could go to. Fresher, tastier and I’ll even pay for it.”

What a gentleman.

“And I’m afraid I’m not creepy enough to keep any of your old clothes in my closet, darling. But I’ll get you something.”
