[Broadway Coffee House]

Sama noticed her interest in him... but he just wrote that off as some turn of incredible good luck. Even a great detective knows not to look a gift horse in the mouth; and a pretty girl who seemed interested in him? That was a once-in-a-lifetime gift!

“Me? Yeah... I've been to Europe a couple of times. I worked with Scotland Yard on a murder last year. A janitor was killed in the House of Parliament, they suspected one of the politicians. I was able to clear his name. I've been to Germany too – err, before all this crazy nazi stuff started, of course. And I solved a case in Paris... guy 'jumped' off the Eiffel Tower. Long story short, he didn't jump, and his wife knew about his girlfriend.”

Yup, Sama is that typically type of detective who, no matter where he goes, always seemed to bump into murder.

"My busniess with Miss Archer..."

As Didymus spoke, he reloaded, speaking to cover the sound and by himself time.

"...what do you even care? She's a lawyer. Lawyers have plenty of cases and matters they need to take. I don't see what's so unusual about a man needing to see a lawyer. What I DO see as unusual is a taxi driver attempting to abduct a man who just walked out of that lawyer's office and demanding to know what busniess he had with her. Do you do this to all of Miss Archer's associates? I'm sure that she wouldn't appreciate the reputation that such a practice would give rise to...and she looks like she's not the type of woman you'd like when angry."

Central Park

"Er...S-sorry about that ma'm"

Diana smiled.

"That's alright...at least my feathered friends get some more food...though I do hope that this isn't overfeeding them." she remarked with a smile.

A bird perched on her shoulder, and she gave it a soft pat with one finger.

Adam remained behind the random car, his revolver in his hand. He had five shots left, and of course, he always carried two SAA's with him wherever he went. His trick shooting was useful, but he doubted he could hit this man from this angle right now.

“Please. You're as much a legitimate client as I am a taxi driver. Your weapon, your training... you're government. FBI? OSS? Army attachment, perhaps?”

Adamska shook his head. “Well... whoever you are... you need to stay away from the Sakura Teams. As long as you do that, we have no problem.”

“Well... whoever you are... you need to stay away from the Sakura Teams. As long as you do that, we have no problem.”

Didymus paused, thinking on what he might say next.

"Plenty of people travel armed, and just because I have military training does not mean that I have no use for legal services...what kind of logic are you operating on, anyway?"

I have to take this guy in, now...at least get a good picture of him...if I can...either way, I'll report his appearence to the cops and to the chain of command...bumping into me was a mistake, pal...

"I ask again, do you do this to all of Miss Archer's associates? I seriously doubt she appreciates it, and it is most impolite to harass a lady's busniess in such a manner."

“Here I thought the military had it's own legal services*.” Adamska chuckled to himself, still maintaining cover so that he couldn't be targeted – at least for the moment.

He paused, twirling his revolved on his finger. He enjoys his showing off... even if right now, Didymus could not see his tricks.

“What she appreciates is not my concern. My only concern is keeping the secrets of the Sakura Team out of the wrong hands. Hah... I wonder, did the boys in Washington really tell you anything?”

By now, Adamska was convinced Didymus was some kind of government employee. He could not have guessed his exact relationship to the US Government, but he could always find that out later.

Of course, killing an American agent was the last thing Adamska should do. Still... letting Didymus know exactly who he was, and who he was working for, would be a huge problem as well.

“We are on a roof. There is only one access back to the building... sooner or later, one of us will have to take the chance.” Adamska called. “I can wait all day. Can you?”

However, at that moment, a rather unexpected thing happened. A car drove onto the roof of the structure with them... it was not yet close, but surely someone seeing two armed men at a standoff would throw a whole new element into the situation

[size0]*I know the military has its own legal services now, and I would assume they did during the 30's as well, but I'm not 100% on that and I'm far too busy with work to go on a wikiwalk. XD

Sidewalk

The city was always a dangerous place, mother said. For a young girl, there was always something going on...well, she was now a grown up. Her shoes clicked and cliacked away as she smoothed out her blue skirt. Her white, button up was concealed under her blue coat. Her large, thick glasses sat gingerly at the tip of her nose. A shame she had such poor eye-sight. A shame she could only communicate through notes. All things the Doctor had said. 'But thank God you're alive.' He'd remind her.

She kept walking down the sidewalk, her gray eyes searching about. She was happy. She was hugging a large tome to her chest, her grip was strong..as if she refused to let it go. She was heading back to her library...as librarian, she was responsible for archiving all kinds of information. She loved her job, she loved everything about it.

Today, however, she felt there was something different about the air. It was as if a number of events were tying together...she heard rumors floating around from the underbelly of the city that...something was happening. It made her nervous. She bit her lip. How would she protect herself?

Harbor

Sitting near the harbor were a few houses..these houses belonged to merchants, sailors, and anyone else who may have preferred a house near the ocean. Of course, the reason this man chose this place, however, was of course, for work reasons..and he loved the ocean air.

Shipper was a cheery man. Even as a child, he was called 'optimistic' and just plain happy. He was the type of guy who, if his leg was bitten off by an alligator, would just smile and say, 'well, I didn't like that leg much anyways.' He tightened his vest and his bandanna to his head as he stared into the vanity.

His house was small. As a sailor, he didn't get payed much. He was a sea salt, though, and couldn't resist being away from the sea. He opened up his wooden door carefully, stepped outside, and took a nice and big whiff of the sea's cool air. Everyday was a great day, new oppurtunities, new reasons to be happy.

Off he stepped, heading wherever the wind took him...

They told me plenty... Didymus thought, but waited...

A car was coming by...a quick battle took place in his head...get behind said car, and possibly endanger the occupant(s), or stay here?

The latter option won out, but he waited and listened, listened for any movement...

I can't see what you're imagining
-Old Man Sensei's House of Butt Whoop-

Aaron paused, frowning. He knew he had a lot more tricks up his own sleeve, such as his true strength, and one other ability...

“Alright, enough!” Old Man said, stepping between Aaron and Musashi, “I am satisfied for now...And I'd rather you not both go full tilt.”

Aaron sighed, then smiled, “Thank you...”

He then paused, noticing his sister on the floor.

“Ack, Adrianna!” Aaron yelled, bending down and picking her up. “What happened?”

“Don't worry, she'll be fine in a couple minutes,” Old Man said, waving his hand, then turned to Musashi.

“Now, you had business with me?” he asked the young man.

-Hawkins House-

“Oh, alright dear...” Galv sighed, “I'll go talk to Joyce then!”

He headed upstairs, knocking on Joyce's door.

“Joyce, dear, can I talk to you?” Galv asked. No response, since Joyce wasn't there.

“...Come on now Joyce, don't be mad!” Galv said, “I'm sorry for snapping at you earlier...”

More silence.

“Joyce...honey...Please...” Galv sighed. Still no response.

“...Fine...when you want to talk, come find me, I'll be with your brother,” Galv said, then headed back down the stairs.

-Streets-

“Oh, I so do love the city...” Erin said, smiling as she leaned into Jason, “Do we have enough time to talk to the play? I like the feel of the wind...”

-Broadway – The Ritz-

“Man, it's been a very long time...” Samuel muttered, looking around, seeing a lot of people, “This place was gotten bigger...”

How did he get to New York so quickly from New Orleans? Simple, the New Orleans happened like a week ago. BECAUSE I WILLED IT SO.

He paused, then saw a certain dark haired woman in a cocktail dress, all dressed up...

He grinned, making sure his own suit was nice, then made his way over to Kanna.

“Hello,” Samuel said to Kanna, “New in town?”

[Old Man Sensei's House of Butt Whoop]

Musashi was grateful that the fight had finished, and immediately he became serious, bowing to Old Man Sensei and then straightening up.

“Sensei... I came because of something that happened two months ago. A man came to meet with my father. I suppose he was a German... but he spoke such fluent Japanese... and he spoke with an Kyoto-Osaka-type accent.”

Musashi paused. “He was a horrible man... he called himself 'Master Bison'. From the moment he stepped into the palace, until he left, I felt as if my entire chest was filled with ice. My body shook, I could not get warm... and I could tell he was not someone my father should be meeting with.”

The horror was still mounted on Musashi's face, visible as he spoke of Bison.

“... I do not know the details of what he spoke to my father about, but... Sensei, I came to you for advice. I have the utmost respect for you... and I need you to help me... I am so torn...”

Musashi began to shake. “I... my father... I have a duty to our great Empire. I must fulfill my honor-bound obligations, and my duty as the Prince... but... I sincerely fear what this alliance with the Germans might mean. I... what can I do, sensei? What should I do?”

[Parking Structure]

As the car passed by, Adamska fired a single shot, into the tire! The car spun out of control and smashed into another parked car, causing a loud crash.

With that, Adamska turned and bolted for the door, firing over his shoulder, sending bullets ricocheting between cars!

As Adam ran, Didymus shot back at him!

...but he had to make sure the people in the car were okay. He ran over to check, intending to help if needed, and if not, sprint after Adam!

Old Man Sensei's House of Butt Whoop

"I hate you" Adrianna muttered.

Adrinna groaned, still unable to move thanks to her brother's CRAZY teacher. She made a note to throw something at him when she could move again...

Streets

"Sure, we should make it plenty of time!" Jason said with a smile, leading his wife down the streets which were full of theatre goers.

Broadway – The Ritz

Kanna looked over as Samuel approached her, the woman not responding to him at first. ...Though he didn't look like much a threat. Perhaps he would give her something to do until the cocktail lounge was open....

"Perhaps" she said with a small smile and her usual accent "What about you? Surely you don't stay here if you are a native to the city"

The woman clutched her purse tightly....Eventually she needed to stop by Broadway....

Central Park

Joyce continued to eye the strange girl, not sure what to make of her...Or all of the birds. Though, she didn't seem like any threat...So Joyce sat down and started to watch the girl, writing a few things down in her notebook.

"You don't happen to have any views on the war do you?" she asked

Broadway Coffee House

Crystal leaned in with a little giggle, obviously interested in the many stories that Sama had. "Ohhhh Paris! I've always wanted to go there! Though I don't think i'd do well solving murders...Perhaps sightseeing! You know Paris is called the city of lovers right?"

The couple in the car seemed shaken, but uninjured. They were yelling, though, and as Didymus approached they yelled even louder and began screaming for the police.

Adamska, in the meanwhile, was hurrying down the levels of the building. He had a rather important phone call to make, but first he would have to dodge Didymus.

[Broadway Coffee House]

Sama's face turned a bright red and he coughed a couple of times, leaning back in his seat.

“Y-Yeah, I've heard that. Though my time in Paris wasn't nearly as much fun as that nickname implies... I just ended up with some dead people, and lots of police.”

Which sounds horrible when you say it THAT way. Sama sweat dropped.

“Still, it's a city I'd love to go back too.”

Once he had confirmed the couple in the car were alright, and hopefully, at least, that they could get out or that the car was stable, Didymus sprinted after Adam, trying to find him or catch up with him...

Central Park

"You don't happen to have any views on the war do you?"

Diana stepped back a little.

"Oh my...that's...a...bit of an abrupt question, don't you think?"

She sighed.

"I don't know. I never thought Japan could do the things I've heard it do...and...Europe seems tense..."

She sighed.

"It was strange. Hitler was revitalizing a country destroyed by war, and now he's arming it and breaking his country's promises?"

She looked distressed.

"And Japan...I thought they could be trusted...but the things they've done in China..."

She looked away, closing her eyes tight.

"I'm sorry, could we talk about something else?"

“I see...” Old Man Sensei said, rubbing his chin thoughtfully.

He was quiet, considering.

“Well, I am an American citizen, myself,” Old Man said, “Our leaders must listen to it's citizens, and do what is best for them, and what they ask...Japan, on the other hand, is different. You are...born into leadership. You must do what you feel best for your subjects...but it is a lot of power...a power that is corruptible...”

Old Man Sensei frowned, “Absolute leaders need a code they must follow. What is your code, young Musashi? Does your loyalty lie with your father...or to the people?”

Aaron sighed slightly, patting Adrianna's shoulder, then pressed a nerve on the back of her neck, giving her the ability to move again, but held on to her arm with her other hand.

“Calm down sis! Sensei can beat dad in a fight...” Aaron muttered.

-Streets-

“Oh, excellent!” Erin said, holding unto to Jason's arm, snuggling close to him as they walked down the streets to the show.

“Hmmm...” Erin said, seeing a younger couple with a child in a stroller, smiling softly.

“Ohhh, honey, we should have another kid! I miss the pitter patter of little feet in the apartment...”

-Broadway – The Ritz-

“Actually, I'm a bit of tourist myself,” Samuel answered, wondering just how much he should lie to this woman. “I made some really smart investments, so I'm not exactly low on money...Have a son in the area myself...You? Visiting family?”

He grinned at the woman, who would probably try to kill him for the money, or the fact his son had married and made babies with her daughter. Or both. Or just because. I don't think Kanna's picky.

“And I like your accent...German, huh? Haven't learn that yet. It'll be next on my list though,” Samuel said, “From England originally, myself.”

He paused, looking around, “You know, life is short unless you're an ageless guy with invulnerability, and I hate to beat around the bush. Would you care for a bite to eat, mademoiselle? I know a lovely place not far from here...”

This can't end well.

[Streets]

Adamska was running down the street. He sprinted into a small alley, pushing an old man out of the way, and moving to take a hiding spot. He needed to reach a phone...

[Old Man Sensei's House of Butt Whoop]

Musashi paused, as he was asked his code.

Does your loyalty lie with your father...or to the people?”

The boy paused, and he sighed a bit, closing his eyes.

“I... I don't know. I've tried to ask myself the same question, but... I don't know, sensei. My father is the Emperor... he is supposed to be infallible... he is supposed to always know what is right... but I fear that in this case, he could not be more wrong...”

The boy ran his hand across the back of his neck. “I... I need guidance, sensei.”
