[Old Man Sensei's School Of Butt Whoop]

This was exactly why Musashi had made Nanami wait outside. She would have taken his being attacked the wrong way, and she probably would have started killing people... she resorted to that a little too quickly for Musashi's taste.

The boy was less than surprised when Aaron was ordered to attack. The boy ran at Musashi and attempted to trip him; but Musashi jumped into the air, flipping back and avoiding the kick.

“Aw, sensei... come on, I've been traveling for days...” Musashi complained. The boy paused and moved forward, trying to kick Aaron!

[Broadway]

Cherion paused as another individual approached her, this one apparently working for the military. She wasn't that surprised... she had been expecting the government to become interested in what she was up to these days.

“... If it is just a moment, I'm afraid I have quite a few things to do today.” Cherion agreed, and waved the cab away, turning back to him.

"What!?" Joyce exclaimed with a frown "But I didn't even do anything!"

Melanie eyed here daughter "You should be grounded young lady, what if they kick you out of school?"

Joyce shrugged "That's okay, I mean I already know what I want to be, why else do I need school?"

"Because you can't be a reporter unless you go to school!" Melanie retorted with a sigh.

"What does it matter, when the war starts the school will probably be destroyed anyways-"

"Joyce go upstairs" Melanie said, now totally serious and glaring at her eldest child....In times like this she resembled her own mother-which was a HORRIFYING concept.

"Oh for the love of god, WHY ARE YOU TAKING SO LONG?" Adrianna exclaimed, appearing in the doorway with her arms crossed over her chest. She eyed her twin brother who was currently in another fight. "Aaron hurry up!"

NYPD 27th Precinct

"Ohhhh coffee sounds wonderful" Crystal said with a smile, heading out. It was already getting late, but she hadn't had a chance for lunch before this...Perhaps is was lunch-dinner....But definately not a date!

“... If it is just a moment, I'm afraid I have quite a few things to do today.”

Didymus quickly flagged the cab again, then pulled out his wallet.

"I'm afraid that my questions are of a...personal nature...and I would like to get a throughough interview in with you concerning them, perhaps several as my investgation goes on..."

He handed her some money.

"Consdier this a token of thanks in advance, it should be enough for your fare. But would it be possible for you to set up an appoitment before you go? And if I may ask in passing...who was that gentlemen that you were conversing with?"

[Old Man Sensei's School of Butt Whoop]

Nanami watched as the girl who had been reading headed to the doorway, and being suspicious of everything, she followed the girl.

Once in the doorway, she saw Musashi – fighting someone! Nanami narrowed her eyes and pushed her way past Adrianna and into the room, glaring at the old man.

“What is the meaning of this?” She demanded.

[NYC Streets]

Now out onto the streets, Sama grinned and nodded once.

“Well then you're in luck! I know a little coffeehouse down near Broadway, one of the best in the city. And I happen to know the owners – solved a case for them once.”

They reached the sidewalk, and Sama hailed a cab. Once inside the cab and having given directions to the driver, Sama turned to Crystal and grinned.

“Well then... about this case...” Sama grinned.

[Broadway]

Cherion frowned a bit, now turning over possibilities in her mind. An investigation? And several questions... it was the sort of thing that would probably be a pain later on. Still, she did have several connections, and you did not get to be a legendary attorney by being weak.

“... If it's that important, then we'll go to my office and talk now. I'd rather get this out of the way now so I can focus on my clients. However, as for who I was conversing with... I'm afraid that's none of your business, unless you have a very good reason why the government cares for my personal affairs?”

"It CAN wait, Miss Archer, though I would prefer to get started as soon as a possible. I WOULD hate to intrude upon your busniess any more than I must. As for the government's interest in your affairs...well, I work in military intelligence, Miss Archer. Keeping watch is a part of my job, but you're right, who you were talking to is none of my busniess, at least, provided it stands no threat to national security...of course, I have no intention on trampling on any civil rights, nor do I expect to be able to with a lawyer of your distniction..."

He held open the cab door.

"So if you really would prefer to just chat now, let's go, otherwise, I'll just get my place on your schedule and bid you good day."

“My schedule is notoriously quite full.” Cherion frowned, growing anxious. She didn't like the idea that the government was suddenly showing an interest, and worst yet they were sending some kid to question her, rather than calling her and asking her to go talk to the feds on her own time.

She took a seat in the cab, her mind working overtime. Exactly what was going on? Well... it wasn't hard to guess, given what Adamask had told her. If he was right...

Taxi

Crystal followed Sama into the taxi, looking down at the files she had brought along and pulling out a few papers.

"We have reason to believe that the United States is being targeted for attack...." She said very quietly, trying not to look out of the normal "You are aware of the tensions in both Asia and Europe correct? The United States military seemed to believe at first that the tensions would stay in their respective regions but a few men and woman have been detained in the nation's capital on suspicions of being spies. They have reason to believe they also may be terrorists."

Crystal wasn't even looking at the files anymore, instead she had handed them to Sama. She seemed to know this case strangely well.

"After speaking to one of the spies the government learned that major metropolitan areas may be at risk of attacks. So far they've pinpointed Los Angeles , Washington DC, and here in New York..."

Ellis island

Speaking of spies....A woman in a black trenchcoat just disembarked from a ship in Ellis Island....

She looked around, heading to a pay phone.

[Taxi]

Sama's face suddenly turned serious. The boy was known for taking absolutely NOTHING seriously. He often acted completely goofy, and even a bit loony when he was giving his summation and accusing someone of murder... but the full gravity of what Crystal just said hit him like a ton of bricks.

“Wow... I heard that things were getting worse in Europe and Asia, but I never imagined it could end up all the way over here.”

The boy took the files and opened them, quickly skimming a few pages before returning his attention to Crystal.

“Well, if someone is going to try something... maybe I can find them in time to stop them.”

“Well, if someone is going to try something... maybe I can find them in time to stop them.”

Crystal grinned "Well that's the idea. The NYPD is pretty devoted to preventing any attacks in the city, though I think it's pretty ridiculous how quiet they are trying to keep this. They seem worried that it could start a mass panic, which while is true it would also help with the effort. Millions of eyes looking out for spies is better than just the ones in the police."

Crystal then laughed, playing with her hair "But that's just a humble secretary's opinion on the matter."

Sama paused for a moment, looking over to Crystal and grinning. She was definitely on the ball about this stuff, and she seemed to have better ideas than the actual police department heads.

“Well I think your opinion is spot-on! The police are way too worried about politics... that's part of the reason I never joined the force.”

The boy leaned back in the chair as the cab arrived on the curbside just next to a quaint little coffeehouse. He grinned and handed some cash to the driver, and then hopped out and held the door for her.

“Don't worry about the case, Miss. Rose. We may not have millions of eyes... but I think I can catch these guys, whoever they are.”

Archer Law Firm

Didymus was quiet on the way to the Firm, and only spoke when he they were in the firm, and when he had been assured it was safe.

"Now, Miss Archer. Before I continue, I would like to ask your silence in this matter to outsiders. Surely, as a professional, you understand the need for secrecy?"

He got out his file, and opened it.

"You are aware, of course, of the developing situations in Europe and East Asia, correct? A rearming Germany, the USSR and Japan engaging in saber-rattling against each other, and Japan's ongoing invasion of China..."

"We've got a number of men on a number of cases ranging on a wide variety of things that I have no right to speak of. Surely you've guessed, though, that this is about your time in the New York Combat Revue. Specifically relating to a pair of individuals, and your observations about their personalities, tactics, and generally WHO they are."

[Archer Law Firm]

Archer was every bit as quiet as Didymus on the cab ride back to her office. Once they had arrived, she sent her secretary, office workers and a pair of clients who had been waiting in the lobby to all go home.

Now, with the two of them alone and in her locked office, Cherion sat behind her desk and leaned back in her chair. Her face was emotionless as she looked to the stranger from the government.

“I'm an attorney. In this room, when I speak to my clients, every word is privileged information. Part of my oath is not to reveal a word of what's said under any circumstances... so yes, I know how to keep a secret.”

She sat quietly and professionally as Didymus explained.

“... The New York Combat Revue is disbanded. However, when we were a functioning unit, we did a lot to help during the Great War in Europe. We were an asset... and we could have functioned as a brilliant means of diplomacy with the Japanese if not for the paranoia in Washington shutting down the Combat Revue.”

Cherion was clearly displeased.

“Ask your questions, Lieutenant.”

Archer Law Firm

Didymus looked entirely unphased by Cherion's appearent displeasure. He had expected this to occur, anyway.

"There were a number of reasons behind the Revue's disarmament, Miss Archer, but we need not debate that here, the fact remains, for better or worse, the unit was closed."

He produced a photograph from his file, and placed it on the desk.

"Musashi. We KNOW he was here-though the Revue may have answered to Tokyo, it still served with special permission and oversight on our soil. We know who he is. He's already been making his way up in the Japanese navy, he's a "rising star" if you will."

He sighed.

"...in short, we want to know who he is. What he's like. How he thinks, your own personal impression of him, and the like. The fact is, Miss Archer, like it or not, the US wishes to be prepared when war comes-we're hoping it doesn't, but we wish to be on our toes. This involves familiarizing ourselves with the up-and-coming members of Japan's military command, the ones who it's been pushing or preparing to push to the forefront of the war effort."

He took a deep breath, then arched his fingers.

"So, Miss Archer, I know it's a very personal series of questions and inquires, but what can you tell me about WHO and WHAT Musashi is, his iterations with your teammates, what THEY may have thought of him, and everything that you can tell regarding an understanding of him personally? That is the extent of my questions in a nutshell."

I can't see what you're imagining
-Old Man Sensei's School of Butt Whoop-

“You must always be prepared,” Old Man Sensei told Musashi, shaking a finger at him, then turned his attention to Nanami.

“Ahhh...my, you've certainly grown quite a bit as well!” Old Man Sensei said, looking up at the girl, “As for what's happening, well, I am making sure my best student knows what he's doing, and that your young master still remembers the ancient art of butt whoop.”

Old Man Sensei was an...interesting character.

“Ack, sorry sister!” Aaron shouted, Adrianna distracting him, Musashi's kick connecting, Aaron falling backwards with a thud.

He wasn't down long, pushing himself up quickly with his arms.

“I'm sorry, I'm going to have to finish this quickly,” Aaron apologized. “My sister doesn't like me to doddle...”

Now, Old Man Sensei did not teach any real formal style of fighting. He taught how to control oneself, and how to use that control to defeat people who needed their behinds kicked.

Aaron suddenly bent down, picking up one of the heavy foam mats on the ground, lifting it up with one hand, then threw it at Musashi!

-Hawkins House-

“...Hold on dear...” Galv said, then turned to Joyce.

“...Joyce, honey, I love you...but don't you talk about war like that. I had a lot of friends in England and here I'll never be able to see again because of the Great War,” Galv said quietly, “If it hadn't been for your grandfather coming to America with me back in '08, I would have been there myself. Heck, they almost drafted me into the service still here, but they needed me to work here with my electrician skills...I had two very close calls, and if either one of them happened, I could have easily not been here now...And either both you and your brother, or just your brother wouldn't exist right now.”

Galv stared at his daughter for a moment, making sure she got his message.

“Now if I ever hear you talking about war like that again, I will ground you for a month, understand?” Galv asked.

-Narroh Apartment-

(I can't believe I forgot this last time! D: )

“I was trying to cook roast beef...” Erin frowned, pulling out the pan now, where a lump of what looked like charcoal sat, “I guess I cooked it too high...”

She sighed, placing the pan on the counter, straightening out her dress then took a seat, “I wanted to make dinner for us! I guess I'll just have to try harder next time...”

[Archer Law Firm]

Cherion had expected this. She wondered if she could make a few phone calls and get this boy out of her hair... she was confident that her connections could do so... but she was equally confident that even using every connection she had, the best she could get was time.

The grim fact was that it seemed like a war was inevitable. The tension in the world was rising, and while it seemed like the US wanted no part of it, she doubted they could stay out of the war.

Besides... if she fought this now, it could come back and bite her.

“... Musashi was a young star in the Japanese navy. He must have impressed someone over there, because he was chosen for the New York Combat Revue. He was sent here, and he did a lot of very good work to help our efforts.”

She sat back in her hair. “As for who he was... he was headstrong and brash. He had a very naïve view of the world. And yet, at the same time... he had a great deal of patience. He also had a great worth of compassion.”

Memories came rushing back, and Cherion paused. “... I can honestly say he was a good man. One of the best I've ever met. He had a fierce desire to see justice done. As for what my teammates might have thought... you'd have to ask them.”

[Old Man Sensei's School of Butt Whoop]

Nanami certainly didn't like the way Old Man Sensei was having Musashi attacked... but she knew better than to consider him an enemy. She just sighed, leaning against the wall.

Musashi grinned – but suddenly a heavy foam mat was hurled at him! He was unprepared for this, and spun to avoid it. The mat caught him on the side, throwing off his footing and sending him spiraling to the ground.

“Ugh...” Musashi groaned.

“Stop trying to show off. You'll get hurt.” Nanami scolded him.

“Aw... come on... I'm just a little rusty is all!” Musashi replied, and then he jumped back to his feet. The boy paused, taking a different stance, waiting and watching Aaron for a moment.

Then he ran forward and jumped; attempting a high jump kick at Aaron's head!
