Paris crime scene

Didymus remained focused on what he was doing, until water had been sprinkled all over the scene.

"...not the hardest time I've had with this. Certainly seen more...elaborate...works elsewhere. But even the smallest amount of this stuff is way too far anyhow."

At the mention of the Soviets, he shook his head.

"Great. Now the commies, too? And will we even have the AUTHORIZATION to fight them, I wonder...?"

Finally, Snake's old mentor had finished.

"...wonderful. So a Soviet scientist found out occultic secrets about a type of warfare I already have my doubts about?" he chuckled.

"It never freaking ends. I may advocate stopping him just to prevent that kind of warfare from becoming the norm..."

I can't see what you're imagining
-Paris Crime Scene-

Aiden listened carefully to the Boss, stealing glances to Didymus now and then as he santified the scene. She wasn't entirely sure what was happening, nor what the Sakura Armor was about... She had been born at the end of the Great War, and military history was not something she knew much about.

Still, if the bad guys wanted this scientist, it would be bad to let them.

“So we have to find this Sokolov guy first then?” Aiden wondered, and walked over to Didymus. She reached into her bag and produced a small opaque bottle.

“Oh, and here... My father made some holy water, if you need some more,” Aiden said, holding it out to him.

“If the Soviets are in Paris looking for Sokolov, authorization will be the least of your problems.” The Boss stated in a stern tone. “They’re deathly afraid of Sokolov spilling his secrets to another government. They’d go to any length to prevent that – if that means killing an American team, they won’t think twice.”

Snake’s mind was on Sokolov, and what he might have learned about the Sakura Armor. The information surrounding the armor was very sketchy. There were rumors of spiritual or occult connections, but there were other theories that the supposed occult connections were just a smokescreen the Japanese spread to hide their technologies.

Snake wasn’t sure what he believed. He had seen enough otherworldly things to believe in the supernatural – but every nation had their secrets, and some went to dangerous lengths to hide them.

“Any idea what Sokolov found out, Boss?” Snake asked.

“No.” The Boss answered bluntly. “… but this will come to a head soon, Jack.”

"It's ALL going to come to a head soon." Didymus said. "Even the freaking Europeans realize they're about to repeat 1914. ...and people STILL think they've got it all figured out. ESPECIALLY, in hard times like this, the Soviets."

He paused.

"The thing is, if we can't get Washington on board with this, which, if coming from my unit, it WILL be very hard to do, then getting this guy to safety will only result in us turning him right over Soviets. That's the thing-rescuing him from Hydra would only cause us, probably, to turn him over to Russia as a sign of "good faith". Frankly, I'd prefer the Nazis to get him than the commies-at least there's a chance the world will realize the Nazis are a threat before it's too late."

He paused.

"Still, where did you say this mansion was? We should probably look into this either way."
