I'll bite your legs off!

Outside Notre Dame Didymus was quiet as Zadkiel spoke, listening. "Her salvation, you say? Heh...no, we both know what that really is. Though I see your point. But are you sure it is fair to call challenging the lion in its den protection? Certainly, Aiden may have more protection in our care, but more attention, too. We are dealing with a...dangerous...situation." he said. As Zadkiel went on, he grew concerned. This would be a difficult conversation, and he had apparently been misunderstood. "I am not accusing you of being bad people." he said. "But the power that national leaders have, even if they misuse it, is natural. It doesn't call directly, necessairly, involve a power beyond that which is given to all men-it is part of the natural order that God has seen fit to allow, and step into at points of His choosing. The fundamental difference you ask for is that you are clearly an exception to the natural order in some way, or at least the norm. Perhaps it's in a harmless way. Perhaps it's in a HOLY way. And perhaps...it isn't. I believe in the all encompassing compassion of our Lord, and I do not mean to question your devotion to Him or place at His side in eternity. But I am wary of...powers. Because they may represent a deviation, whether it be a physical one, or a spiritual one, from His design. And in some cases, they may not. I can't even truly profess to know. Well, not in all cases, anyway..." “You admitted to me you have killed before. Should I judge you for that? Should I call you a murderer? Scripture tells us not to kill, but you still have,” "Heh." Didymus said, his face growing weary, yet grim, yet slightly amused. "Perhaps you should. I'd have preferred it if killing wasn't necessary. And begging your pardon, pastor, but I believe the commandment is not to MURDER. And I'd maintain there's a difference." “If you can tell me why it is alright for you to have done so, but why it is not right for me to use my flame to combat the dark, then please, enlighten me. Was it because they were trying to kill you? Because they would have... or did hurt, others? Then why is using my flame to fight the demons and the darkness wrong, when they also aim to hurt the innocent?” "The weapons I have used have all been in accordance with the natural order, save for the times I invoke Him and have received His blessing in ways that seem to be decisively in accordance with His will. That is why, though I cannot say with complete certainty that all my actions on this grim path have been correct. And perhaps your own abilities and appearence are blessed, as well. But I am a...paranoid man." He grinned weakly. This was not an easy night...and he once again felt the strong desire for it to just be over... |

I can't see what you're imagining

New York City -Hawkins' House- “Let go of my sister!” Blake yelled at the other shadow apparition, Joyce's power knocking the lights out... Galv awoke with a start, having fallen asleep with Melanie sleeping next to him. “Melanie... something's wrong...” Galv said, straightening up. Paris -Chloe's Bar- “My grandmother, on my father's side, is from Mexico. My father learned Spanish from her, and he taught my sister and I,” Aaron answered in Spanish. Ethan had also learned German (his father being German), but Aaron hadn't learned that. Switching back to English now, Aaron smiled, putting his arm around Chloe now. “Let's go then,” Aaron said, “Just remember, act natural, and follow my lead.” -Outside Notre Dame- Zadkiel was quiet for a moment, then smiled. “Are guns natural? We manufacture them, meld them from metals that we do not actually find in the ground, mix together the elements to form gunpowder to fire them. Yes, the chemical processes we use are, for lack of a better word, natural, but is it natural to make them that way?” Zadkiel inquired, “This is where we disagree young man, on what is natural and what is right, and that is a fine thing.” He pointed towards the Notre Dame now, “That cathedral is that of the Catholic faith of Christianity. A little over 400 years ago, a man named Martin Luther disagreed with the Catholic faith and gave rise to the Protestants, which now have several different groups themselves. They all believe in the same God, they all believe in the acts and teachings of Jesus, but they all have different ways they express that belief, or how they think it must be done. “Are only one them right? Are the others all wrong because of their differences? But that is not where one should focus. Focus on what is the same,” Zadkiel said, then waved towards his daughter. “My daughter and I look different then others. We have abilities, different from others. But look to what is similar in others. That is what we all must do, find that common ground,” Zadkiel said, then smiled warmly. “You are unsure if my powers and that of my daughter are... That is fine, to say you can not disagree would go against human nature. “And as for my daughter... She is old enough to make her own decisions. If she wants to go with you and the other Americans, I can not stop her. I understand that it is not solely her decision as well, but it is not mine,” Zadkiel finished. [Paris] [Sarai’s House] Connor went red too as he noticed Jace. He didn’t have a good excuse for why they were up here all alone together, and one look from the elder brother had told him exactly what had been happening… sorta. The boy just groaned, wondering how awkward this was going to be… and then he remembered the smoke, and pushed aside his own embarrassment, looking to Sarai’s elder brother. “Do you know what’s happening?” Connor asked. |

Paris “Do you know what’s happening?” Jace ignore Sarai's order to go away, instead pulling himself up onto the roof where the two sat. He turned to Connor and pointed to the spot in the distance where smoke billowed out. "The radio says the police are calling it a small bombing. Some government building, treasury or something." he explained. "Didn't say if anyone was in there, but until they get it under controlled we're under lockdown" Sarai "They don't think a diplomat did it?" Jace shrugged "Probably, they don't think very highly of people like us. Anyways it's safer to be inside for the moment" Streets Chloe nodded, holding onto his arm like she had seen so many other women do here in Paris. While it felt a bit strange she had to admit it was nice to be this close to him....Aaron was....Well a good guy, he didn't act like a creep not to mention he didn't care that she was a gypsy and could probably steal all his money given the opportunity. New York City Hawkins' House Melanie woke with a start, suddenly freezing cold. Unaware of the reason, Melanie's powers were going haywire forming the strange shadow man who was currently fighting her children. The woman shivered, rubbing her bare arms and looking over to her husband. "No....No no no no no no" she mumbled, suddenly feeling what was going on downstairs. Instantly she tore back the covers, stumbling out of bed and rushing out of the room. [...] "Yes! L-Let go of me!" Joyce yelled, raising her hand with crackling energy.....The man seemed to disappear....That or he was hiding in the shadows. Suddenly Joyce whipped around to look at Blake. Behind him stood the man, grabbing at the boy! |

[Paris] [Sarai’s House] Connor frowned at the news. The idea of a bombing in Paris was terrifying, and it made him immediately wonder if it was connected to the people his grandfather was looking for. He shook his head and cast an eye over towards the billowing smoke in the distance. “This is really bad…” Connor looked over to Sarai and nodded slightly. “We should go back inside.” [New York City] [Crystal’s Apartment] Sama was tossing and turning on the floor, as he struggled to get some sleep. The day had been a long one, with creepy Nazis and more near-death experiences than the detective usually had. He rolled onto his back and stared up at the ceiling. There was no use. He had too much on his mind to sleep, plagued by what Madame Rouge had said. Slowly he stood up and quietly tiptoed over to the window, taking a seat near it and staring out at the New York skyline. “… Might be the only way to get to the bottom of this…” |

Outside Notre Dame Didymus once again listened as Zadkiel spoke, not sure what to say. "Some differences between denominations are noteworthy and demand consideration..." he said. "...I'm not sure exactly what you are trying to say, perhaps. Yes, we must find common ground on things, the church should be known by its unity, but at the same time we need to keep many things in mind..." He sighed inwardly. "As for your daughter, very well, I understand that you believe she can run off if she wishes. But are you sure she's even doing it for the right reasons?" he paused. "Just because ONE guy saw fit to treat her with decency doesn't mean no others will. She may not claim that's her reason for wanting to come along, but you know as well as I do that started it." It had to be said. |

New York City -Hawkins' House- Galv got out of bed as well, rushing down the stairs after Melanie. He knew something was wrong... he just wasn't sure what... Blake was grabbed by the man, struggling. “Let me go!” Blake shouted, disappearing in a cloud of shadows, trying to free himself from the man. Paris -Streets- Aaron grinned as he and Chloe walked along, glancing towards the girl every now and then, almost as if he was making sure she was actually there. “So how long have you lived in Paris?” Aaron asked, striking up a conversation with Chloe now, on their way to the resturant. -Outside the Notre Dame- Zadkiel was quiet for a moment, then nodded to Didymus, moving the conversation along. “I can tell she fancies you, young man. And it probably is one of the reasons she wishes to help,” Zadkiel said, “But it is still her decision... And it's much like her mother. When Aiden's mother and I met, she was the one who pursued me. Most people considered me... unworthy, I suppose the best way to say it, because of my appearance. But dear Loralee... she saw past that, and to what made us similar.” Zadkiel looked wistful now, remembering his past love, looking up towards the sky. “I do not think there is much more we have to discuss, unless you wish to continue our own conversation. But you still need to discuss things with my daughter, and I can see you are getting tired. It has been a long day,” Zadkiel finally said, after his memories subsided for a moment. |

New York City Crystal’s Apartment "Can't sleep?" Crystal appeared behind Sama, watching him stare out the window. She was smiling softly (and still half-asleep herself), but frowned a bit noticing his expression. "What's the matter?" Hawkins' House "You're like Melanie" the shadow man realized as Blake poofed out of his hands. He instantly turned around looking for the red-headed child, ready to attack once more. "Get away from them!" Suddenly Melanie appeared, rushing down the stairs with her own hands glowing dark. She looked absolutely livid, ready to blast the strange shadow creature away. "Stay...Away...From...My....Babies" The man grinned, disappearing and reappearing in front of Melanie. He watched her for a moment. "You look different....Older" Melanie didn't comment, but it had been several years since she was weak enough to let him come out. "Go away" she repeated. "Before I make you go away" The man gave a laugh "You can't do that and you know it." Paris Streets Chloe stayed close, still a bit uncomfortable in her new clothes. "Almost six years, my parents and I used to live in Spain, but made our way to Paris on foot with some other gypsies. Didn't realize we were heading right in the middle of all this Nazi drama until we were already here, but we went ahead and tried to make some money here. Unfortunately my parents were deported back a year ago, but they did leave the bar for me" Chloe didn't seem too phased, though she did miss her mother and father. "Since then Sarai has been helping me stay out of trouble, and in turn she makes money with the bar too" Sarai’s House Sarai was scared, yet curious about the strange explosion in the distance, but she decided to do as she was told and head back inside with Connor. As she made her way back in she could hear her father yelling at someone downstairs. "Is there someone else here?" she asked Jace. The older boy shrugged, wondering the same thing himself. He motioned for them to follow. As they headed down the stairs Jace stopped mid way. Down at the bottom was Genius and two French police officers looking rather annoyed. "How could you think this was any of our doing, i've been here working, and my sons have been here at home. We're accounted for." "What about the other Indian nationals?" one of the officers asked. "You're in charge of them" "Surely you can't expect me to be able to keep tabs on any Hindi man or woman in Paris. Despite this I can assure you it wasn't one of us" Jace could feel the tension in the room, he motioned for his sister and Connor to go back upstairs. |

New York City -Hawkins' House- “She can with my help,” Galv said, his hand sparking slightly, coming down the stairs and standing by Melanie, “My electricity makes her stronger... strong enough to banish you.” Blake frowned at the man, appearing on the couch now, standing on it. This man... he was like Samara? His mother's shadow? Was this why his parents were so afraid of Samara? But she was different then this guy... right? Paris -Streets- Aaron was quiet for a moment, then spoke up, “Have you ever thought about going back to Spain, back to your parents?” Aaron had always lived relatively close to his father, even if his mother had been around to who knows where, doing who knows what. |

New York City Hawkins' House Samara appeared by Blake, hesitantly looking towards the other shadow-man. She looked nervous, but still rather pissed that he had attacked Blake. "He's like me....He comes from the same place" she said softly to the boy. "Well look how much you have changed as well....." The man stated, looking to Galv. Last time Melanie was too weak to keep him hidden away she had just started dating Galv. She had been so stressed with the drama regarding leaving Ryan that she accidentally lost control of her powers. This had happened several times through her life...But that last time had been the worst. Luckily she was able to regain control and hide her own version of Samara. "Not quite the pipsqueak as before" the man muttered, turning back to Melanie. "You too..." "This is your chance, go away or we'll make you" Melanie said evenly. "And you now have children....Did you know the little one is following in your footsteps Melanie?" "Leave them out of it" she snapped. He then eyed Melanie's belly ".....And more on the way....How long have I been locked away in you?" Paris Streets Chloe was quiet for a moment, but then gave a nod. "I thought about it, but since coming here i've felt different...Like I had a good feeling about this place despite all the political tension. Like something good would come out of me being here. Heck, I met you and that's pretty good at least" She continued to walk alongside Aaron, tightening her grip on him. "But when I make enough money here i'll probably go back and take care of them, it's kinda frowned upon to totally drop your parents out of your life. I should at least buy them a proper house one day so they can stop wandering around Europe." |

Outside Notre Dame Didymus simply sighed, quiet as Zadkiel spoke. This entire day had been INCREDIBLY taxing, and despite some progress he was exhausted and his various doubts continued to come to a head. "Thank you." he said, when Zadkiel acknowledged he was tired. "I am exhausted. Just...I suppose I may see you around." he said, turning to leave. American embassy Things were quiet, but in a room with barred doors, someone was stirring... |

Paris -Outside the Notre Dame- “Perhaps, young man,” Zadkiel said, nodding towards Didymus, “I wish you the best of luck, and my prayers will include you.” Zadkiel turned to head off, Aiden stepping forward now as she watched her father go for a moment, then turned back to Didymus. “...Is it okay if we walk and talk to the Embassy?” Aiden asked, “I still want to help if I can...” -Streets- Aaron blushed when Chloe said it was a good thing that she had met him, tightening his grip a little more as she did, though was still careful... he didn't want to break her arm, and he didn't know which of them was stronger... not that he cared either way. “My dad's getting older too... though he keeps insisting he doesn't need any help,” Aaron said, “My mom's always been very... independent...” New York City -Hawkins' House- “Melanie doesn't need you,” Galv said, glaring at the shadow being, “She has me, she has her family.” Blake frowned a little, looking at the man then back to Samara, then shook his head. “No... you're better then him, Samara...” Blake said to his own shadow person, “You're nicer...” Hahahahahahaha, probably not. Outside Notre Dame Didymus thanked Zadkiel and was heading off, when Aiden came up to him. "Sure. We can walk back. And, uh, thanks, but again, I'm not sure we'll be able to use you..." he said. For the second consecutive night in a row found himself wanting to go to bed and forget about having to deal with other people. Long days, long nights... US Embassy The G men who had talked von Staffens in were relaxing now, confident that the techniques they had employed would keep him well in hand... |

Paris Streets Chloe blinked, looking to the boy. "They're not together anymore?" Ha ha ha "When you get married as a gypsy you're kinda stuck with your husband for better or worse. Widows are looked upon strangely enough, but if you actually have the guts to leave your husband while they're still alive, well you are definitely bold. People typically think you're a nutjob or something. That's why I plan on enjoying my life as long as possible before putting on that ball and chain" Chloe laughed, obviously finding no fault with getting drunk (and possibly sleeping with) guys for the fun of it. Hey Aaron. Don't marry someone like your mom. "But when it finally is time to settle down i'll be good" New York City "I'm....Nicer?" Samara muttered, looking confused, but suddenly disappearing in a puff of shadows. "I'm one hundred times stronger than you or her family....If she doesn't need something in her life it's you" The man said "Anyways, now she's stuck with me....I'm not going anywhere this- Suddenly the shadow-being was blasted back, slamming into a wall and disappearing in a poof of shadows. Standing where he had been was Samara looking absolutely pissed. She then rushed back at him, blasting him with more of her own powers until he finally vanished completely. Blake thought she was nice....Nice people protected the person they loved. She would protect Blake until she couldn't anymore. |

[New York City] [Crystal’s Apartment] Sama turned his head as he heard Crystal and he winced a bit, rubbing his neck and smiling sheepishly. “I hope I didn’t wake you up.” Sama said as he leaned against the window ceil. “I’ve been thinking about what that crazy Nazi lady said.” He crossed his arms and let his thoughts return to the idea that had been drifting through his mind. “It seems like they’ve been hiring local criminals to do their dirty work, right? I think I know a way we can get more information on them… I have some contacts who… do some pretty shady stuff.” He rubbed his neck. “It’d be dangerous, but it might be our best bet.” [Paris] [US Embassy] In a room, under heavy lock and key, was the would-be assassin who had attacked earlier. The mysterious redhead, who would only identify herself as “Sin”, waited in her cell. She had been interrogated for hours, but had give precious little to her captors. She was far too afraid of the Red Skull to ever talk. [Sarai’s House] Connor clenched his fists as he looked down at the police officers. He couldn’t believe how they were behaving! He knew it wasn’t his place to speak up, but the boy was spurred on and he quickly ducked his head past Jace. “How can you just accuse these people of doing something without evidence!?” |
