[Outside Notre Dame] “I think we have more important things to do than count gargoyles.” Nanami replied, not really getting Marco’s joke. “The Notre Dame is an enormous building. For every tactical advantage that came bring, it also brings a weakness. It’s a lot of ground to cover, a lot of rooms, a lot of hallways, a lot of empty space. There’s people around, but there’s also a lot of empty places.” She shook her head. “In short, if someone IS planning to attack this place, there’s a number of ways they could do it. One thankful advantage we have is that we’re close to the Seine, and we’ll likely see a boat coming.” Yep. That’s right, kids. The Notre Dame is actually along the same river as the US Embassy! It’s a 9 minute drive. “Still. I’m uneasy…” Nanami admitted. “And I’d rather have an extra set of eyes on patrol.” |

I can't see what you're imagining

New York City -Hawkins' House- “No! Momma's gonna be around forever...” Blake said. Being ten, he didn't have a very good grip on mortality yet, and didn't really understand what death was yet. “It's never good if people die...” Blake said, picking up one of his comic books, pointing towards Superman, “He never kills people, because it's bad! I don't want to either...” Galv paused. Melanie had a point... “I'll try the park first, you know she likes to interview the bums there,” Galv said, then sighed, “Melanie, stay here. If something happens with Blake...” He trailed off. His electrical powers wouldn't be able to do anything, but Melanie could help keep things under control with her shadow powers. -Park- Sage blushed as Joyce kissed him, then produced an umbrella from his jacket, opening it up and covering him and Joyce, moving closer to the girl and putting his arm through her's. “We'll head to Gallic Enterprises then... hopefully your aunt will be there,” Sage said. Paris -Chloe's Bar- Aaron blushed again, rubbing his head, “I'm a lot of things, but no Romani...I'm Mexican and German on my dad's side, and Japanese and British on my mom's... I guess I'm just an American mutt.” Aaron sighed a little, looking towards Chloe. A secret...? “Errrr...I suppose... I don't see why we need to keep it a secret, I mean...if you want to try this,” Aaron said, “I mean, it's not like we're running off to get married or something...” |

Notre Dame Didymus blinked. "Um, Aiden, wipe your face..." he said. "...but you're welcome." He noticed that Musashi and company seemed to arrive, and while he found their inspection of the perimeter unnecessary (having just finished one himself and finding it adequate) he said nothing to them, as Erica was here. And she was the ONE member of the Paris team he thought he may actually be able to build a connection with. She was totally engrossed in her own pastry, eating it thankfully. "Yes, that was very nice of you!" she said. "...it's good you wanted to help make sure everyone could see the Spear." she said. "My friends..." she paused. "...um...didn't...seem to like the idea..." "I'm...sorry to hear that..." Didymus said. |

New York City Hawkins' House "You don't have to kill anyone....I can do it for you. That way you don't have to feel bad....You don't have to think about it at all." Samara totally wanted Melanie dead. The woman rivaled Samara in powers and that did not make her comfortable at all...But of course she would never do anything unless Blake truly wanted it. So she was stuck. Unless she could make Blake mad at Melanie. [...] Melanie sighed. She and Galv had talked with Joyce in the past about sneaking off to the park to talk to homeless men. She didn't want to judge, but pretty teenage girls like their daughter were sitting ducks around a bunch of men. At least she had Sage to protect her....That or just get kidnapped WITH her. Melanie moved forward, kissing her husband and stepping back. "Be careful, and don't be too hard on her." Park Joyce nodded, staying close to Sage in the rain as the two headed out of the park and back onto the street. Luckily Gallic enterprises wasn't too far away, and after about a twenty minute walk across town they approached the building. "I always forget how big this place is..." Joyce said, looking up. Paris Chloe's Bar Chloe frowned as soon as she saw Aaron's face, the girl having a feeling she had offended Aaron at the suggestion they keep their relationship a secret. "Yeah I suppose not, but dating may be even worse" she said, closing in on the gap between them and slinking her arms around him. "I'm not really for all those traditions, you know, like chastity and such. Call it my rebellious stage" Chloe then laughed. [...] "Well thank you either way" Sarai said with a smile "If you ever need a favor in Paris you know where to find me" Hotel "I remember hearing about that case....I'm impressed" Axel said, sipping his coffee "A freelance detective solving such a crime. I heard they put some of the police departments most experienced detectives on that case. I bet they were pretty peeved to hear that you got the killer before they could" Axel gave a slight chuckle. "Well either way you did a service to society so you can't be all bad. Though you didn't seem very happy at my briefing earlier..." Laila nodded in agreement, staying close to Musashi and quiet. She kind of felt strange just wandering around a church. Given her family history she wasn't sure if she was allowed in a place like this...Well....They hadn't been struck down yet. Nor has anyone thrown holy water on them yet. |

[New York City] [Hotel] "Well either way you did a service to society so you can't be all bad. Though you didn't seem very happy at my briefing earlier..." Sama frowned. This was going to end badly, he suspected. “That’s because your plan is a mistake. You’re going to end up creating more problems than you solve.” [Paris] [Notre Dame] Musashi stayed close to Laila as they came into the larger room where everyone had gathered along with the Spear’s display. He looked around and noticed both Didymus and Erica. Both of the people he would have to talk to in one place – that was either a good sign, or a very bad one. He waved towards them, but did not approach yet. He doubted it was a good idea to give his report to Didymus in front of Erica. [Chloe’s Bar] Connor nodded, rubbing his neck. He hesitated for a moment, his eyes being drawn instinctively to his shoes. “Um…” Connor stammered, trying to find the words. He had never had a situation like this before… it was all pretty strange and new to him. “Are you busy tonight? I was just thinking… it would be nice if we could spend some more time together… maybe tonight?” |

I can't see what you're imagining

Paris -Notre Dame- Aiden paused, then blushed brightly when Didymus mentioned she needed to wipe her face. She scrambled some, wiping off her face quickly, still blushing red. Once that was taken care of, she looked up, seeing the others as well. She had, very briefly, met them yesterday, but was more familiar with Didymus and Alice. She did wave back to Musashi though, wanting to be polite. -Chloe's Bar- Aaron blushed again, staring at Chloe. She certainly was something else. “Heh... my parents never got married either, actually...” Aaron mentioned idly, “It's not like I was raised Catholic. I'm...errr...” Aaron paused. His father, Ethan, had been raised Catholic, because of his Mexican grandmother, but Ethan himself hadn't seemed to have kept that going. Plus, Aaron had received a lot of Eastern religion influence from his Sensei. “Well... I guess I don't really have a lot of long standing traditions either...” Aaron said, “But I don't want this to just be something... off the record? It's just... confusing...” He had come to Paris to watch his sisters, not find love. Why couldn't things be simple? Because he's one of Kanna's kids, obviously. New York City -Hawkins' House- “No, I can't let you kill anyone either,” Blake said, frowning, “Letting someone die when you can stop it is just as bad as killing them yourself! There's always another way...” Blake was a big believer in that. Probably due to all the comic books he read. Truth be told, Galv was never too worried about Joyce getting hurt. She had her father's spark after all. He always worried more that she would be forced to use that spark and get found out. “I'll be careful...and I'll take my old bike...” Galv said. He kissed Melanie back, then hurried to the small garage. He hadn't ridden it in a while, Melanie getting worried Galv would seriously hurt himself on it, and the fact public transportation could take him most places in NYC. There was a rev of an engine, and Galv shot out of the garage, helmet on as he started off down the road on his motorcycle. -Gallic Enterprises- “Yah... It's a fairly new building too,” Sage said. The current building had been built about twenty years ago, and there were rumors they were going to add more to it. As they entered the lobby, Sage looked around. Already things had been pretty well patched up by the Nazi attack here, at least in the public area. Even in this depression, Gallic Enterprises had still been going strong. “Hey, you kids, you can't come in here,” a security guard said gruffly, moving over to them. “I'm Sage McCall,” Sage said, “Ryan's son. I came to see him.” The guard paused, then told them to wait, waiting over to the security desk and talking with another guard there. A phone call later and the guard was back. “Alright. Elevator, 12th floor,” the guard answered, “No wandering, even if you are the new boss's kid.” Because Lily was still hiding a lot from Ryan. |

Paris Chloe's Bar "Well....You could always become a gypsy like me" Chloe said, looking up to Aaron with a grin "Then you can go whatever you want and be a traveler for the rest of your life. I also think you get a donkey." Chloe gave another giggle, leaning in and kissing Aaron suddenly before shaking her head. "I didn't mean to stress you out. We can be whatever you want us to be okay?" [...] Sarai blinked....Had Connor just asked her on a date? She blushed brightly, looking to the side. "Like...A date?.....O-Okay" She did really like this guy too. New York City Hotel "Maybe, But right now our hands are tied young man" Axel said, leaning back. "And please don't think this decision is solely my own. I have issues with it too, but the higher ups seem convinced this is our best short term plan. We need to keep the Nazis from getting in by any means possible...Not to mention anyone they're working with. This is what we came up with to keep the American public safe." Axel looked down at his coffee with a frown...Empty. "Perhaps you would have a suggestion on how we treat such international matters? After all you have proven yourself competent" Hawkins' House “I'll be careful...and I'll take my old bike...” Melanie blinked, the realization hitting her that her husband would be blowing off the dust of his old motorcycle to find Joyce. She quickly rushed after him, turning into the garage. "That old thing!? Galv don't kill yourself!" Because Melanie didn't want to be a widow like her bitter old mother. Samara frowned but didn't fight Blake's beliefs (no matter how much she knew they were wrong). Instead the girl floated around the room, appearing on his bed next to the tray of food. She poked at it. "You should eat" she told him. Gallic Enterprises Joyce walked down the long hall silently, looking at everything with an sense of awe on her face. She was truthfully amazed at how impressive this place was....Her aunt must have been loaded! "Just think, all of this may be yours one day" Joyce joked, poking Sage in the rib. |

[Paris] [Chloe’s Bar] Connor turned bright red, coughing and looking down at his shoes. His shoes were rather fascinating. They were black and polished, despite him having worn them for a while. They were starting to wear out a little, but… Connor sighed. He couldn’t avoid what Sarai just said. “Y-Y-Yeah… like, a d-date, if you want to that is…” Connor stammered. [New York City] [Hotel] Sama frowned. If this was coming from the higher ups, then there was probably no way he could get it stopped… but then Axel presented an opportunity. Asking his opinion! Sama leaned back, thinking about it. How would he do things? “I’m a detective, not a spy… but…” Sama rubbed his chin. “Let’s review what we know. The Nazis did attack us, yes, but they did so stealthily. They obviously aren’t ready for a full blown war, and we can use that to our advantage.” His mind was starting to race. “So what we need to do is get some decisive evidence that links Germany to these attacks… and the best way to do that would be to follow the money. If we discover how they financed these attacks, we can follow the money back to its source… and then we can prove that the Nazis were complicit in things. Then we can rally support against them, discredit their propaganda and gain an easy upper hand.” He leaned back. “As for the short term… double security at all the ports and airports… and run a full check of everyone in high level position in federal agencies, since it’s likely that there could be an insider.” |

Notre Dame Erica smiled at Aiden wiping her face. "That just means you enjoyed it!" she said. "You must always enjoy His gifts, big and small!" Didymus nodded. "Indeed." he said, as if in thought. "And may He forgive us and help us to remember when we forget that..." Erica paused, looking at him. "Yes..." she said. "...but it's good we're here, trying to do some good for everyone...trying to help bless others as we've been blessed!" she said, smiling again. Didymus suddenly felt a pang of something. Erica was...well, he couldn't deny it. She was rather beautiful (and unlike Aiden, who while certainly lovely in her own right, could not be denied to have a somewhat strange appearance, looked more...conventionally beautiful, perhaps), and her unflinching, sweet-natured piety... Oh no... he thought. But is she trying to take the cloth, or...how...oh dear... Erica looked to him again. "I also notice you wear a cross, and you...carry yourself kind of like an...old...friend...of mine..." she said. Didymus paused. Maybe, he thought, he could make a connection with this girl without Musashi? Maybe he'd even be a better candidate in this case, all things considered? It would free up Musashi to go look for another member of the team... "I do...?" he simply asked her. He tried to at least glance Musashi's way, and imply through subtle looks and gestures that he would be with him when he could, but could be on to something now... |

New York City -Hawkins' House- “I think that's the only thing his dad ever gave him that he actually kept...” Maize mentioned idly to Melanie as Galv took off in the bike. “I should...” Blake nodded, heading over to the tray and eating slowly, sipping his cocoa now and then. “Can you eat?” Blake asked suddenly, looking up at Samara, “Or taste things?” He was curious. -Gallic Enterprises- “Heh, I don't really want it...” Sage said, “I just want to be able to go further with my art, honestly... I'd like to be able to paint, or something with pictures. Maybe do something with photographs too. Heck, I could be your photographer when you're reporting on all the big stories!” They got into the elevator, riding up to the correct floor, the elevator door opening up. “Hello there,” Lily said, standing outside the elevator, Ryan possibly with her if CR wants, “Sage, good to see you again.” Her look turned a little chillier as she turned to Joyce, “And what brings my favorite niece here?” Technically her only niece, as of now. Paris -Chloe's Bar- Aaron chuckled a little, still blushing, “I want to be a teacher, personally...” He sighed a little shaking his head as he looked back to Chloe. “Everything's just a little turbulent... And right now I...” Aaron started, then paused. He turned and cursed, heading back for his shirt and shoes, getting them back on now. “I have to get going! I almost forgot! I need to get the Notre Dame, it's possible the Nazis might attack for the Spear...” Aaron said, then paused again, cursing once more when he realized he just said this in front of Chloe. He rubbed his head, then brightened up a bit, turning back to Chloe, “I could use a guide to get there quicker... Have you ever done a roof top run before?” -Notre Dame- Aiden glanced back and forth between Erica and Didymus, frowning slightly and feeling like the odd girl out again. She didn't want to feel jealous, and she knew she had no right to think otherwise, but it didn't stop her from still feeling that way. Thankfully she was also too kind to try and sabotage things with anyone else. She'd simply hope for the best... And darn it, like Alice, Erica seemed very nice too, and someone Aiden would like. “Who does he remind you of?” Aiden asked Erica now, curious anyways. |

Notre Dame Erica paused at Aiden's question, and for a moment she looked as if she was struggling before smiling back-but there was a hint of sadness behind it. "Someone who I looked up to and admired a lot. He was brave and caring and kind and bought me sweets and..." she hesitated. "...but you don't want to hear this, do you?" Didymus was quiet for a moment. "...I do, actually..." he said, believing he knew who she was talking about. "...in fact, I do have a lot I'd like to talk to you about, Miss Fontaine, but...I'm afraid it may not be of the happiest nature. Though perhaps it can wait until after the exhibition is done..." Erica blinked, and for a moment she looked genuinely confused. "Y-you...do...?" she asked. "...but I'm not supposed to talk ab-I MEAN-" she quickly covered her mouth. "...m-maybe we can talk after the exhibit!" she said, blushing now and turning to run away, only tripping over the curb and hitting her head on the street. "...ooohh...look...angels..." she said. "Um, are you alright, madam...?" Didymus asked. Erica shook her head. "U-um...yes..." she paused again as Didyums offered her a hand up. As if in a painful yet pleasent memory, she slowly took it and let him pull her up... "...I...I'm sorry..." she said. "You've nothing to apologize to me for, though..." Didymus said. "I mean..." Erica said. "...um, thank you..." She was apparently a tad uneasy now...Didymus knew he had to play this one carefully... |

New York City Hotel Axel wrote down a few things as Sama explained the course of action he would take. He only paused once, shaking his head. "Do you really think we as Americans can discredit Nazi propaganda and earn the trust of Germans? As terrible as it is the Nazi Party is promising a brand new era for the German nationals. The Fuhrer is promising a new economy far more successful than the last......Money, food, hell even full time jobs for any supporter. It's all lies of course, but he's selling it to people with no hope. Hitler is promising to change Germany for the better" Axel paused and frown "And we're what's in the way of it" Hawkin's House Melanie sighed but gave a nod. Maize was actually right, Galv's relationship with his father was complicated...Kinda like her relationship with Kanna. Her husband had only kept a few hand-me-downs from his parents, mostly from his late-mother....The only thing that had come from Samuel was that bike...Blake would probably end up on it when he became old enough. Melanie inwardly groaned. Then she would have to worry about Blake even more. She couldn't even imagine her son all grown up and driving around. [...] Samara looked over to Blake, thinking about his question. "I don't think I can...I don't know what taste is" The small girl then floated over to Blake, looking over his shoulder at his breakfast. She pointed to the cocoa. "What is that taste?" she asked curiously. She wasn't' even sure she worded it right. Gallic Enterprises Joyce stiffened a bit as Lily regarded her, but she spoke up. "We think the terrorists might be after our family....Daddy seems really worried." "Awww your daddy is worried. That's so sad" Ryan said, walking in the room with a glass of scotch in hand. He walked over to Lily and slinked an arm around her waist. "Good morning kids" Paris Chloe's Bar "A teacher?" Chloe said, tilting her head to the side. "I've never been to school, but it seems like a noble profession...Hey, maybe you can teach me sometime..." She meant that exactly how you think she did. “I have to get going! I almost forgot! I need to get the Notre Dame, it's possible the Nazis might attack for the Spear...” Chloe blinked "What are you doing that has to do with Nazis?" she asked, reaching down and putting on her shoes once more. “I could use a guide to get there quicker... Have you ever done a roof top run before?” "Can't say I have...Though I bet I could keep up" [...] “Y-Y-Yeah… like, a d-date, if you want to that is…” Sarai's eyes lit up and she stepped forward....Only to hesitate and go rather red in the face. She did manage a tiny nod though. "I-I would love that" she managed, biting her lip. These two are adorably awkward. |

Outside Notre Dame "Well... I assume it'd be a crazy possibility that someone could try and hide as a gargoyle, to sneak in..." Marco commented, after Nanami's quick rejection of his joking idea. He continued following Nanami along, though, as she spoke out, nodding along as she made her points. "Even if it means an extra mouth on patrol, as well, huh?" Marco then added, with a small laugh. |

[New York City] [Hotel] Sama frowned. It was true; it would be pretty difficult to undermine the Nazis in Germany. “You have a point… but if our actions play into the narrative created by their propaganda, we’ll only strengthen them.” Sama leaned back, shaking his head. “There has to be a middle ground. Something that will keep us safe and still undermine what the Nazis are trying to do.” [Paris] [Outside Notre Dame] Nanami shrugged her shoulders. “You DO talk a lot, but I’ll overlook that for the time being.” She stopped after a moment, glancing around again. “I don’t see anyone. It looks like security out here might actually be up to par. Let’s go back inside.” [Chloe’s Bar] Connor smiled brightly. He had always heard that Paris was the city of love, but he never expected to end up on a date. “G-Great then! Maybe we can go tonight, i-if that’s okay with you.” Connor was completely forgetting everything he was supposed to do. |

Paris -Notre Dame- Aiden looked back and forth between Didymus and Erica, and started to feel a little bit of panic. “Y-yah, she could come with us to that cafe and talk,” Aiden said after a moment, “It could be fun, right?” Aiden was feeling a bit crestfallen now. -Chloe's Bar- “Errr...well...” Aaron said, pausing, “I really can't say much. I don't know too much as it is. I mostly came to Paris because my sister's came here, one of them following a guy who's... kind of important in the world.” Aaron sighed a little, “But I guess I got sidetracked... not that I'm complaining, mind you.” Aaron then turned to the wall, looking upwards towards the roof, “Alright... I'd say to try and keep up but I need you to guide me.” The young man bent downwards, then shot upwards into the air, landing easily on the roof of Chloe's bar, looking down at her. “It's just like using your strength to punch and all that. Just focus it into jumping. Don't put too much into it though, or you'll overshoot,” Aaron called down. New York City -Hawkins' House- Maize shook her head a little as well, following Melanie back inside the house. “So it seems our shared siblings went off to Paris to be heroes or something,” Maize said idly, “Sounds like something we'd all have done at their age.” She paused briefly. At their age, Melanie and Galv had already gotten married and had Joyce... So maybe not. “Ummm...it tastes sweet!” Blake said, “And good! Here!” He held the cup towards her, “Why don't you try a sip?” -Gallic Enterprises- “Oh? You think your father and the rest of your family might be that special?” Lily said idly, scoffing a little, but smiled at Ryan as he appeared. Sage frowned a little. “Morning Dad...” Lily sighed, but waved her free hand idly, “I might have information you want. But I don't give things away for free, not even for family. You have to earn it. What can you offer me, dear niece?” |
