Paris US Embassy Adrainna smiled, giving a shrug. "Weren't we in the middle of something?" she asked, holding up the paper that was given to her "Something to have to do with terrorism?" Chloe’s Bar "Hold ya horses we're coming!" Chloe called out, appearing from the back with Sarai in tow. The girl then noticed the man was speaking English. "Oooooh more foreigners! What? Is there some kind of Yankee convention in town? What'll you be having?" Sarai sighed a bit, never knowing how Chloe could retain as many customers with her attitude. She then looked to the older man...And what looked to be his son? No...Maybe grandson? She offered the two a smile. "Don't mind Chloe, I think she means well' "What? I ALWAYS mean well! Now hurry up and change into the sequins before all the soldiers get here!" Chloe said, throwing an arm over Sarai's shoulder. New York City Safe House Kanna was mildly impressed (and suspisious) that Rica was so concerned about Melanie and Kanna's grandchildren. She gave a nod, looking over to the others. "Mind a quick detour? It'll be quick) Fisk’s Apartment "He got away" Crystal said with a sigh, letting the others take over Fisk's care for a moment so she ould recharge a bit. Instantly Jeremie went over to the girl. "Are you alright Crystal? The doofus didn't get you hurt did he?" Crystal shook her head "I'm fine, I just can't use energy that long without a recharge. I'll be fine in a few minutes" "Do you need some food or something?" he asked "I'm sure me and you could go somewhere, alone. So you can recharge" |

[Paris] [US Embassy] Oliver paused for a moment and then a bead of sweat rolled down his neck. “Oi. Good point. I’d actually forgotten about that.” Oliver coughed, and then looked over towards the door. “I suppose we should go tell someone about the letter then.” [Chloe’s Bar] The older man gave a small bow towards Chloe when and Sarai appeared. “Good evening young lady! We’ll take two whiskey sours, and go heavy on the whiskey.” He ordered with a slight smile. “No. He’ll have a whiskey sour, and I’ll have water.” Connor sighed, sitting down at the bar. [New York City] [Safe House] Rica nodded. He put his shoe back on. “We don’t have much of a choice… although if they’re in some kind of trouble, I doubt it will be quick.” Rica sighed. [Fisk’s Apartment] Sama immediately frowned and walked over, standing between Crystal and Jeremie. “You wanted to rush over here. Why don’t you go look for Coldman?” Sama said to Jeremie, and then he turned to Crystal. “Come on. I think we’ve earned a little rest. My office is nearby, we can go there. I’ve got a fully stocked pantry too, so we can grab a bite.” |

US Embassy Didymus paused, not sure what to say with Aiden around, what would be safe per se to say... "...well, I hope they're enjoying the rest." he said, perhaps to stall for time if nothing else... |

[US Embassy] “Oh, I’m sure they are.” Alice said, shaking her head. “But it’s not going to last long. Don’t get me wrong… I know that your security here at the Embassy is top-notch, but I don’t want my boys going soft. So come tomorrow they’ll be back on duty, even if it’s just guarding this room.” Alice might have sounded harsh… but she and her rag-tag bunch of soldiers had been on the run for a very long time, with the Nazi army in pursuit. |

I can't see what you're imagining
|
New York City -Hawkins' House- Erin stared at the ringing phone, wondering for a moment if she should answer it, until it stopped ringing. She shrugged then. Probably nothing important. -City Park- Blake frowned, “No...my parents love me, they protect me... They don't want to hurt me! That can't be it...” He paused, when Samara answered being intimidated by his parents' abilities... “...Maybe that though...” he said quietly, “But I wouldn't have my powers without them...You wouldn't be around if I didn't get my powers from them...” Blake looked back over to Samara, “You...we...shouldn't be intimidated by them...They just want me to be strong...And to be happy...” -Streets- Galv was currently out with Melanie, currently scrambling around, trying to find where Blake went! -Safe House- “They might just be out somewhere,” Samuel said, shrugging, “I'm sure they're fine.” Ethan frowned a little, then sighed. Aaron...had left him a note, and put it somewhere that he would find it too late after the fact, saying that he, Adrianna, and Lalia had gone off to Europe and were helping the United States. It was almost too unbelievable at first, but even in writing Aaron couldn't lie. “I can not say where the rest are...But Aaron, Adrianna, and Lalia are already out of the country,” Ethan said, standing up, “Aaron...left me a note. I would have said something earlier, but when we were avoiding pursuit and discussing taking down HYDRA, it seemed like a bad time.” Paris -US Embassy- “Then we'll find out,” Jenny said to Snake, “We'll find her and get the answers right from the source.” She smiled faintly, placing a hand gently on his arm, “I know you're not going to be able to get any real rest right now with it on your mind. So let's do what we can for now. What do you know so far?” Aiden stayed quiet as Didymus and Alice conversed, stepping a bit from them and letting her mind wander on various topics, like the code book, the earlier incident, the Notre Dame tomorrow, and her small dinner with Didymus. It was all so...new, to the girl, in a way. But she was excited to get the chance to really help people. She then glanced back to the two for a moment, pausing for a second before speaking. “Ummm...I'm sorry I wasn't that much help earlier, when they found your base and set it on fire...” Aiden said quietly, “I've never had to really put out a fire before...” |

[New York City] [Safe House] Rica paused as Ethan gave the revelation that he knew where the kids (or at least, the twins and Laila) were. He turned and suddenly the man had an extremely cold scowl. “… Ethan… admittedly HYDRA chasing us was a pretty big deal, but you should have told me about Laila the second we were safe.” Rica said, and his tone was frigid. “Don’t keep things about my daughter from me. I’d really hate to have to kill you after all these years, but if it happens again I will.” Rica turned and headed towards the door. “Let’s go find Jason and Melanie.” [Paris] [US Embassy] “Not much.” Snake said, shaking his head. “Only rumors from the Deuxieme Bureau. Apparently she’s here in Paris, but why I don’t know… but she did get her hands on all the information the French had on the Sakura Team.” He frowned. “… Which means we’d better find the Sakura Pilots before the Cobras do.” “Don’t worry about it.” Alice said, shaking her head to Aiden. “It’s not the first one of our bases to burn down.” |

US Embassy "Guarding this room?" Didymus asked. "Well, you may encounter some trouble there, at least with weapons...foreign nationals having weapons in our embassy, even ones with asylum...may create an issue. But I suppose I can understand the value of being on guard and keeping your people sharp..." he chuckled. He just nodded as Alice mentioned she had had other hideouts... "...and to be honest, that larger man of yours is...quite a fighter, it appears..." he added. |

Industrial Lathe Man

Wooded Area Listening in, and honing in on where it sounded like this guy was hiding, Marco came down to one main conclusion. Somehow, some way, this guy had managed to essentially turn invisible. Be it through some sort of camouflage, advanced technology, or even some special unique power, he had to have something that was keeping Marco from being able to exactly make out where the guy was. In that case, he needed to come up with a way to make it such he could see this guy, limit his movement to where Marco could predict where he was coming from easier, or make it such that Marco was as invisible to this guy, as he was to Marco. That third option was only a last resort, though, because it also seemed as though this guy had laid out at least one trip-wire, and if there was one, there had to be more... except in the direction they had ran into this little area from. ...but he definitely could not and WOULD not leave Nanami behind, by retreating that way himself without her. But that WAS an option, if he had to go that way for any reason. He looked over to Nanami for a moment, catching a glimpse at how she was doing, and closed his eyes for a second. It really didn't look pretty, though with how she controlled her blood when she got injured before, he knew she probably was trying to do that herself. For right now, he had to trust her completely with that. So in the instant he got up, he pulled out a couple of his sorta-grenade-looking items, throwing one towards Nanami. "Nanami, ice one," he called to her, when he threw it to her. He figured if she needed something for distraction, or self defense, or attacking, that'd be the one that would be the most effective for her, right now. Marco's attention, however, quickly returned to this Fear guy, and he threw the other grenade-ish item up into the air, near where he thought the guy might be. He also quickly put on sunglasses he had just pulled out of another pocket. A fire-spreading grenade would both add some light to make it possibly easier to pick up where this guy was, as well as set fire to some of these trees this guy was jumping between. ... ...but there was nothing. It didn't explode, and simply fell to the ground. Apparently the water from his swim had gotten into this one, and turned it into a dud. So Marco had to adjust on the fly again. "I dunno... I just react! And there's a few things I think that might be worse than death, as well..." he then commented, as he scurried behind another tree in the area. "A snake could be quite scary, especially on a plane!" He had a few more ideas to try now. He couldn't rely on any other fire-grenades he had in his pocket, while any ice versions probably wouldn't be helpful to himself at this point. He had a few more in his briefcase, but he couldn't open it up in the middle of this fight. ...but he DID have access to what he had in his main secret compartment. If he could get a better read once again on where this Fear guy was at this point, he had something else that could work almost like what he wanted to do with the fire-grenade. And if it came down to this, he could set off his SOS 'flare'. They were pretty close to the embassy, and combining some loud explosions, with the SOS, might get some movement to over here to see what was happening, and maybe help. |

[US Embassy] “They don’t really need weapons. Like I said, I don’t expect anything will happen that Embassy Security can’t take care of… but I still want them alert and at least on mock-guard duty.” Alice explained as she sipped her tea. “We won’t always have an Embassy to protect us, and I can’t have them getting soft.” She let out a small sigh. “My unit isn’t really comprised of combat soldiers. Aside from Randall, everyone in my unit came from non-combat roles. I’ve trained them as well as I can, but they need to stay sharp.” It was becoming clear why Alice’s travel to France had been so dangerous. She was not commanding an ace team of highly-trained soldiers… she was commanding a team of people with military desk jobs. "...and to be honest, that larger man of yours is...quite a fighter, it appears..." Alice nodded. “In the downtimes, Randall’s like a really big dog. He’s extremely loyal and doesn’t have a mean bone in his body… but when it comes to combat, he’s without a doubt one of the most dangerous men I’ve ever known.” She hesitated. “But enough about that. I’d guess we’ve all had enough combat for today after earlier. Why don’t you two sit down and join me in a nice cup of tea?” [Wooded Area] Nanami was working as hard as she could to address her injury, but she had three problems. The first was simply her lack of energy. Nanami was an incredible warrior, and her mysterious power to control water in all of its forms was equally incredible… but she had been physically beaten by The Boss, and shot by The Pain. And after all of that, she ran quite a long ways, and swam quite a long ways… and she was already tired when The Fear shot her leg. That combined with all the blood she had to make herself lose to avoid being poisoned, and the traces of poison that had made it into her bloodstream… and Nanami was very tired. She briefly paused. Why was she fighting so hard? Musashi was not here, so it wasn’t because of her oath or her duty… there were only two answers that really came to mind, and she didn’t want to think about either. Either she wanted to survive because of Marco, or because of… ‘It’s Marco. He shouldn’t have to die because of my foolish mistakes. It’s a simple matter of fairness.’ Nanami thought, though that was not entirely true, it was all she could admit to herself in relation to Marco. Which was still more than she could think about in terms of the other possibility. "I dunno... I just react! And there's a few things I think that might be worse than death, as well..." he then commented, as he scurried behind another tree in the area. "A snake could be quite scary, especially on a plane!" As Marco scurried between trees, The Fear had nearly been ready to fire another bolt at him – until Marco said what he said. It stopped The Fear in his tracks, and made him growl. “A snake…” The Fear hissed under his breath. He suddenly seemed very preoccupied, and his concentration was broken. And as his concentration broke and his mind wandered, he became visible! He was still wearing camouflage gear and sitting in the top of a dark tree, but it was now entirely plausible that Marco could spot him if he was looking. |

US Embassy “My unit isn’t really comprised of combat soldiers. Aside from Randall, everyone in my unit came from non-combat roles. I’ve trained them as well as I can, but they need to stay sharp.” Didymus nodded. "Fair enough, you understand our terms..." “In the downtimes, Randall’s like a really big dog. He’s extremely loyal and doesn’t have a mean bone in his body… but when it comes to combat, he’s without a doubt one of the most dangerous men I’ve ever known.” He nodded again. "Hmm...fair enough. A heavy shock trooper...if you don't mind my saying so, Germans have something of a tradition for that...though..." He paused. He was a Marine, the US' own shock troopers...who had performed to the point where the Germans assigned them the name/said they fought like "Devil Dogs", in one battle at least... “But enough about that. I’d guess we’ve all had enough combat for today after earlier. Why don’t you two sit down and join me in a nice cup of tea?” At this he paused...an aristocratic lady was inviting him to tea...he was apparently pleased with the idea, and sat down. "To be honest, I've never been much for tea, myself...though I can sit here, and even try some if it'll help you feel better." he grinned a bit. |

New York City -Safe House- “I apologize for thinking my own children are old enough to make their own decisions,” Ethan said to Rica, “It was Aaron who left me the note, to me. If you have issues with your own children running off, I would talk to your own daughter.” Paris -US Embassy- “Perhaps she's on a secret mission. One even above you and the others here...” Jenny suggested to Snake, trying to think of a reason for Big Boss to be off the radar and such. Aiden smiled, nodding her head, “Tea sounds lovely.” Aiden took a seat as well, “My dad and I make tea pretty often ourselves...Easy to make on the road, and to transport. And it's not like we have to worry about being able to start a fire...” |

[Paris] [US Embassy] Alice paused, rubbing her chin. “Hmm… Yes, I suppose you could compare Randall to a Stormtrooper.” In truth, Alice wasn’t sure it was a perfect comparison… but there were some things she didn’t want to come right out with. While she thought Orland deserved a little boasting about him after what he had accomplished, she wanted to be careful and not speak too much about someone else’s past. “You should try some of my tea. It’s not as fancy as some of the stuff the Brits make, but it’s got a good blend. It always helps to calm me down after a day like this.” She poured two cups, and handed one to Didymus and one to Aiden. “You and your father are travelers? We have that in common. I’ve been to three countries in as many months, not counting this one.” Snake paused. He considered Jenny’s suggestion, and he sighed. “I don’t know, Jen. I was part of the Cobra Unit. If our side put it back together, I can’t imagine they’d leave me out. Besides… I work closely with OSS and the War Department, and I haven’t heard a peep about them until I got here. If it’s our side who brought the Unit back, then it’s being kept very quiet… it means Bill Donovan’s been lying to me, or maybe Roosevelt himself ordered me out of the loop…” Snake didn’t like either of those options. The idea that his old friend Wild Bill would choose to keep him in the dark was disturbing, and the notion that the President might want him kept in the dark didn’t make much sense… but he would rather Roosevelt have no faith in him than to think The Boss had truly defected. [USA] [Safe House] Rica narrowed his eyes behind his sunglasses. He was about to be an asshole. “If you’re fine with the Twins running off and getting killed by Nazis, I suppose I can’t stop you… but if they take Laila along with them, then it’s my business and you’d better damn well tell me anything that related to my daughter.” There was a very dark glare carved into Rica’s face. “So stop being a smartass Ethan, unless you’d like to see if you’re strong enough to keep me dead. Of course we are in a basement full of flammable liquid, all of which I can control, so you might want to just keep quiet for once.” It’s actually been a surprisingly long time since these two got into an argument like this. |

Paris US Embassy Adrianna nodded, stepping in and looking around the large hall. There was a large directory on the wall leading to several offices...Adrianna frowned and bit her lip in confusion. "Who do we tell about something like this? I mean I doubt it's information we should just be handing off to a secretary." Chloe’s Bar Chloe laughed at the old man, turning to her bar and pouring him the drink. "You like it strong. That's the sign of a good man!" Chloe said, turning around and handing him the glass before sliding Connor over a water. She then leaned on the bar a bit, eying Connor much like she did Musashi. "Sooo you guys know English....Americans then?" From her spot Sarai sighed. She knew Chloe was flirting. New York City Safe House “I can not say where the rest are...But Aaron, Adrianna, and Lalia are already out of the country,” Ethan said, standing up, “Aaron...left me a note. I would have said something earlier, but when we were avoiding pursuit and discussing taking down HYDRA, it seemed like a bad time.” What "..................What." Kanna asked/exclaimed through grit teeth as she stalked up to Ethan and grabbed him by his shirt collar. This was so much easier to do with him consider he wasn't much taller than her. "THEY'RE OUT OF THE COUNTRY!?" That made her children immediate targets. Fisk’s Apartment "WHAT!? You can't go with him again Crystal!" Jeremie exclaimed, glaring at Sama. "Don't worry Jeremie, I just need to clean up and get some food back in me. The agents seem to have Fisk stable right now, i'll be right back" she said, taking Sama's arm. Jeremie just about died. *insert Sama gloating here* City Park "They want you to be able to control yourself...Like your mom does." Samara said, looking away. "She keeps her powers in so her shadows cant come out and form things...Like me." Samara then paused, stepping back and looking a bit confused. "I.....I like it out here I think...It's different than being inside you with all the shadows." |

[Paris] [US Embassy] “Quite right.” Oliver nodded. “This should go to someone important. We should see if we can find someone who works in security, they’d probably have an idea of who we should take it too.” He looked around the halls, and then at the directory. He traced a line on the map, and then he snapped his fingers. “Ah-ha! Never mind security.” He said, disregarding his own idea just seconds after thinking of it. “The Ambassador’s office. Let’s go down that way!” I doubt they’ll just let you in. [Chloe’s Bar] Connor noticed Chloe eyeing him, and he just sat a little flustered. Unlike Musashi, Connor wasn’t used to attention from girls. In fact, he had next to no experience with the fairer sex. “Um… I’m an American. My grandfather’s from Ireland.” Connor explained to Chloe when she asked. Corwin nodded to Chloe. He didn’t have a trace of an accent when he spoke though. “And you my dear, where are you from?” [New York City] [Safe House] Rica just took a step back. There was no longer any need for him to argue or threaten Ethan… Kanna could handle that just fine on her own. And Kanna was a lot scarier than he was anyway. [Fisk’s Apartment] Sama merely smiled towards Jeremie as he linked his arm with Crystal’s. “Don’t worry, we won’t be gone all night. Try to keep Fisk alive, okay?” Sama said, and he hurried out with Crystal, heading for the car so they could head to Sama's office. Wait, Sama leaves with the beautiful woman and someone else gets stuck with the half-dead fat guy? We’ve finally found a universe where Sama has good luck! US Embassy “Hmm… Yes, I suppose you could compare Randall to a Stormtrooper.” Didymus simply nodded as Alice spoke, and with a "Thank you." sipped the tea she offered, tasting it. Still not sure it was to his liking, so he continued to take tiny sips as she spoke to Aiden, so as not to appear rude. He hadn't done much traveling, himself...not outside of the US, at any rate...though a fair amount IN it... Elsewhere, Towns was in his office, reflecting on the day's events...
