Embassy room “Sharpshooting? Yeah, I did my share of sniping back in the war… but I’m assuming you mean with a tranquilizer, since there’s not much information we’ll get out of a corpse.” "I actually meant with a proper rifle. We won't get much info out of a corpse, but we WILL get info out of someone who can't run away. You know how to do knee shots, right? A tranquilizer could work, but the downside of that is that she'll be capable of full movement when she wakes up, unless we tie her down ourselves, not out of the question...and then there's the concept...this is no ordinary crook. Some witness accounts have stated that she seems..."otherworldly"...in action. A mere tranquilizer drug may not have the necessary...punch...to stop her. But it would be more desirable if it could work, I suppose...though she IS a crook." He chuckled. “We’ll find a way to interview them all. Hopefully without too much trouble… but for tonight, I guess we’re done? I do owe Laila a night on the town if there’s nothing else to go over.” And just as you suspected...well Marine, do your duty... "It's going to be trouble one way or another...each in our own ways, perhaps. With that said, once we go to our lodgings..." He looked around, eying the "couples". "You're free to experience the city...just don't spill secrets like who you are, what you're doing here, or the mission...and don't get into trouble." He anticipated a lonely evening, but...hopefully he could make it a productive one. |

[Embassy Room] Snake paused, considering. As usual when he was in deep thought and had the option to do so, he took a slow drag on his cigar. It was a bad habit, but Snake had no intention of giving it up no matter how many times Jenny asked him to. “That could work… but a knee shot could cripple her for life, and that might give her plenty of incentive to refuse to cooperate with us. That said, I have a recipe for a tranquilizer that I guarantee could keep her out cold. It was the same recipe The End used. It’s got enough kick to take care of even certain supernatural forces.” The End was a legendary Sniper from the United States, and a member of the Cobra Unit Snake had served with during the Great War. Musashi nodded. “Sounds good to me. Don’t worry, Didymus, we’ll keep a low profile. If anyone asks, we’re simple tourists. I can keep a low profile when I have to.” “Just be careful.” Nanami spoke up for the first time in the meeting. “France does share a border with Germany. Considering they were able to get their spies into the US, I’m sure they have operatives here as well. If you think anyone is following you, or you get the feeling something is wrong, head back to the Embassy. The last thing we need is to cause trouble.” |

Embassy Room For the most part, Marco simply listened in, as everyone rattled off all the information they wanted to rattle off. But once things started to seem to wrap up, he decided to speak up. "If the plan is to use force to capture the thief lady, you better have someone French to help and endorse such a capture. The people from France may not be all that happy, otherwise, to hear that some American flew in, sniped out a supposed-theif's knees just to get some military information out of her." Considering it made him a bit unhappy just hearing that himself, unknowledgeable parties would assuredly be even less than thrilled with such an event happening. "...Though you better not go sniping anyone's knees out from them anyways, to any of these people we're trying to find from moving or escaping. If you need them to be kept from trying any funny-business to escape, just call me in, 'kay?" |

I can't see what you're imagining
|
New York City -Hawkins' House- Blake frowned slightly, “No, you can't just want to do what I want to do...You have to do something because you want to do it!” He moved over towards Samara, “What is it you want to do?” -Narroh Residence- “Exactly! If we wait too much longer it might be too late, so we need to have another baby soon!” Erin said, smiling. “And I wanted another child before but Jason kept saying we needed to wait...Well I have waited! Besides, Melanie and Galv are having another kid too, and they're not that much younger then us...” -Old Man Sensei's Dojo- “And that is exactly the difference,” Old Man Sensei said, “A power like Joyce's is a weapon one must learn to control. Using your chi is a weapon you must learn to use.” He turned back to Sage, “Now I am going to show you some breathing exercises, to help teach you control and focus. Joyce, you may want to learn as well...” -Gallic Enterprises- Lily descended downwards, deep into the basement levels of the building. It was a place she hadn't told Ryan about. Not yet, at least. The elevator came to a stop, opening it up. Immediately several guards appeared, arm and pointing their guns at her. Lily smirked, “The Phoenix will rise.” The guards nodded, moving away now, Lily stepping into the larger room, coming outside a door. “How is he?” Lily asked, as a doctor stepped outside, looking over a clipboard. “Same as usual,” the doctor sighed, “Nothing seems to be getting a reaction from him...He's still alive, thanks to his...abilities, but it's the barest definition of the word...” “I see...I thank you for continuing to look after him. Do you think it would be alright for me to see him?” Lily asked. “Of course, of course,” the doctor said, “Same as usual. Take all the time you need, I know you'll call if something happens...” Lily nodded, opening the door and walking inside a pale white room. Several machines were set up around a bed, taking vital signs, monitoring the patient. He was a tall man, with black hair. His eyes were open, almost unnervingly so, green, looking dull now though. He was pale, and a bit gaunt, having lived off of IVs for decades now, but still technically alive... “Hello, father,” Lily said, sitting down in a chair by the bed where Don Gallic lay, “I have a lot to catch you up on...” Paris, France -Embassy Room- “If you need someone captured by force too, well...” Aaron said, holding up his hand, “I can probably be good there...” Jenny looked up, thinking a little as she glanced towards Didymus, “If you need someone to play the rich sophisticated woman part, I think I'd be best suited for the role. I know how to act in upper society, and I'm old enough to be the part. The others here might be a little too young...” |

Embassy room Didymus glared at Marco. "If I didn't know better...never mind. But...this isn't just a "supposed" thief. She's been caught and convicted. Then pardoned, served on the Sakrua Team, disappeared when it dissolved, and is at it again. Her style, EYEWITNESS ACCOUNTS, and all the evidence to convict her AGAIN are already well in hand. I doubt the Parisian government would mind us taking care of that problem. And as I SAID, I'd rather NOT have to use violence, but...it may be our only option. In fact, they noticed that Miss Carlini's crimes have, since the dissolving of her team, gotten more...violent...themselves. More people getting hurt and such. Not sure if there have been fatalities, I may have to check the records...but yes, perhaps we should or shall get the local government's approval or at least have the embassy cover for us..." He looked at Jenny when she spoke. "While you'd certainly work, "rich and sophisticated" isn't NECESSARILY what I'm looking for. More like, perhaps, "rich and stupid"-just an act, of course-but my idea is to present a target that will be sure to draw the thief out...and into our ambush. Of course, if we make the target TOO easy she may suspect something's up...but this is all, again, in case of having to use force. Which hopefully we won't. I still need to see what I can learn from visiting their base." He regarded Snake. "Hmmm...I'm not sure I believe that. As you may have noticed in the warehouses in New York, purely physical means may not be what we're looking for...with that said, she's still human, or something close to it, I think...so maybe. But we may not need a particularly strong tranquilizer anyway. Because I never said we'd be using purely physical means in the first place. While a powerful tranq may be useful...it may also take unnecessary time and attention-drawing efforts to get it..." And when Nanami spoke, he nodded. "What she said. Keep a low profile, go to either the embassy or our hotel lodgings if you suspect trouble. I shouldn't wander too far from the hotel tonight, though I may..." He had a destination in mind if he got some time off... Edited by The Vidit of Light, Dec 11 2012, 12:25 AM.

[Embassy Room] Musashi could sense some tension between Marco and Didymus, and decided to step in and try to quash it now before it could become a problem later. He had learned how to deal with personality clashes with the Sakura Team. “I don’t think that shooting her in the knee is going to loosen her lips. An injury like that can result in permanent damage, and putting her in a wheelchair is going to make us the very last people she’ll want to help.” Musashi said. “However… we can’t be afraid to use force when the time comes. I don’t think this situation calls for it, but going forward we may run into different circumstances.” Musashi explained, trying to keep the peace. "Hmmm...I'm not sure I believe that. Snake paused. He took another long drag on his cigar, and then put it out in an ashtray on the table. Finally, he looked up to Didymus. “Don’t take this the wrong way, kid, but I don’t give a damn if you believe me. You should, though. Fact is, I have more experience than anyone else in this room. If I say I can do something, I can do it.” Snake stated bluntly. He was a professional, and would follow Didymus’ lead… but Snake wasn’t about to let the others start second guessing him. Musashi simply sighed, wondering if he had to play peacekeeper here too. |

Embassy room “I don’t think that shooting her in the knee is going to loosen her lips. An injury like that can result in permanent damage, and putting her in a wheelchair is going to make us the very last people she’ll want to help.” Didymus shrugged. "I was using a knee shot as an example, my point was there are ways to incapacitate someone-with firearms-in a nonlethal and even non-permanent manner." “However… we can’t be afraid to use force when the time comes. I don’t think this situation calls for it, but going forward we may run into different circumstances.” "Indeed we can't be afraid to use force should it be necessary. That's what I've been trying to say. With that said, we don't know, but what intel we have indicates that it probably will be. She had her chance to talk and turn her life around earlier. And she rejected it when France rejected her team. But we'll see, again, I don't want to make the call without more information." As if whatever call I make's going to matter... He stood and was silent as Snake spoke. "I understand and highly respect you for your experience and heck, am even humbled to have you here...but this is a manner in which I have some experience myself, POSSIBLY even more than you, though I cannot say that with certainty. At any rate, that is, for the time being, at least, neither here nor there. Are there any OTHER questions, or shall we proceed to our hotel now?" The prospect of a lonely night where he could forget about all the people he'd be spending the mission with was looking better and better now... |

-Embassy Room- “As a medical professional, I would advise against shooting anyone we wish to recruit,” Jenny spoke up, “Though I believe I'm already on record on not liking to shoot anyone if we can help it...Though I know that's not always possible...” Jenny was quite aware of the realities of war, despite her more pacifistic nature. “Look, we're talking in circles here,” Aaron spoke up, “We don't have enough information to really decide anything at the moment...Besides, best laid plans...” He stood up, stretching a little, “We should get going. I'd like to explore around a little myself...” |

[Embassy Room] “Everyone, stop!” Musashi interjected, and suddenly his voice was far more forceful than it had usually been. He looked stern and serious, as opposed to the easy-going expression he usually had. “If we’re going to fight among ourselves, then we might as well call this whole thing off now. We’re supposed to be a team… we need to act like it. We need to work together.” He took a deep breath. “Now it seems to me that Didymus plan is to trap Calbrini by having someone pose as a naïve socialite who would be an easy target. That’s a good plan… but there’s obviously some serious reservations about being too quick to actually hurt her, and I agree.” His mind was working quickly now. “… But if we’re the ones laying the trap, there are certainly less violent ways we can do so. We need to find a location that we can control. Somewhere she won’t suspect is a trap, but where our people can hide. Ideally, someplace that has only a few entrances and exits – which we will be able to control once Calbrini is inside.” Musashi nodded. “I suggest we go with the first part of Didymus’ plan. We use someone as bait, and that person will lure Calbrini into a location of our choosing… once she’s inside, we spring the trap. We have at least two people at every exit. I’ll try to talk to Calbrini… if she tries to run, we’ll have people at every exit to stop her. And if she tries to fight, then we can use the necessary force to stop her.” |

Embassy room Didymus sighed. "I've been TRYING to say this entire time that brutally maiming someone isn't the first option that I wish to resort to. Perhaps I failed to elaborate that as clear as I possibly could have." he said, his voice stern. "...but as Aaron has said, and as I have attempted to say, this is, while actually NOT quite talking in circles, STILL jumping the gun before more information is gathered. It hopefully won't be necessary." You know they don't think you mean that last part. "Now, are there any OTHER questions or comments? Or can we get to the hotel now and begin our evenings?" He did his best to hide this thought, but the concept of an evening in relative solitude was appearing positively enticing right about now... |

New York City Hawkins' House Samara blinked, thinking about Blake's question. "I...I don't know what I want to do...I'm not real. I'm supposed to only feel what you feel" The girl moved forward, taking a stuffed giraffe and hugging it tightly. "Of course...I can not agree with you...If that's what you want" Samara didn't seem to get it...She wasn't a normal child. Narroh Residence "Auntie is pregnant?" Solanna asked, looking over to Jason. This was the first time hearing of it. "I'll have to congratulate her! How far along is she?" "Not much" Jason answered, disappearing into the kitchen and coming back a moment "Probably just a month or two. Though they seem rather excited about it all." he then offered the girl and Erin both a mug of tea. "Maaaan, I haven't seen Auntie or anyone else in awhile" Old Man Sensei's Dojo "Uh sure!" Joyce said, moving next to Sage, smiling to the boy. She hadn't done much training with anyone outside her dad so she was anxious to learn. "You are gonna train Blake too aren't you? I mean mom mentioned it at one point..." |

[New York City] [Airfield] Soon, Rica pulled up to a secluded airport near the outskirts of the city. He stepped out and pulled the revolver from his jacket, and glanced over to Kanna. “Are you ready? Somewhere on this airfield is Red Skull’s hangar. We find him… and we can finish this before he can get back to Germany.” [Paris] [Embassy] With the meeting finished, Musashi quickly hurried over to Laila. “Ready to see Paris?” He asked with a large grin. Paris When the briefing was concluded, the group was shuttled to their lodgings, a pleasent but modest hotel in the middle of the city. Didymus had been consulting his phrase book he had been reading on the plane, as well as maps of the city. "Alright, everyone, here's where we'll be staying. But I suppose your busniess for the evening is concluded. Enjoy the city." My busniess isn't, though...unfortunately, this recon duty will still leave me with plenty of time to think. "By the way..." he indicated a theater across the street named "Chattes Noires". "That's where the Paris team was based. Have a good evening." He began to walk toward the theater, intending to scope it out, maybe have dinner here...then maybe visit Notre Dame, then...probably get some sleep. Much was on his mind, though...much indeed. |

[Paris] With the meeting over, and business concluded for the day, Musashi was excited. He was still a bit on edge from the meeting, but decided to put all of that out of his mind for the evening. Instead he adjusted his tie and walked over to Laila with a large grin. “You want to check out the city? I’m sure there are some really great sights we could see!” […] Nanami, meanwhile, was already busy checking out the hotel. She was looking for any potential security problems. She would have much preferred to stay at a less public location, but she was in no position to argue with the lodging. Instead she would have to be proactive and look for any security leaks and plug them. […] Snake leaned against the wall on the outside of the hotel. He wasn’t sure he wanted to take the evening off… he thought it would be best to get to work immediately, but he wasn’t about to push the rest of the team; especially the civilians. Instead he would try to get something done on his own… unless Jenny forced him to take the evening off. […] Oliver, who was still not fully in-the-loop, quickly approached Adrianna. “I don’t know all the details of what’s all going on,” Oliver admitted. “But it seems rather serendipitous that we’re both here. Fancy seeing the city?” […] Near the Chattes Noires, on a street corner not that far from where Didymus would have to walk, a strange man was literally standing on a soap box and handing out fliers. As Didymus would walk by, the man would shove a flier into his hands. It was written in French, but it was clearly some kind of propaganda flier – and from the looks of it, it was pro-Nazi. |
