Hawkins' House Joyce couldn't help but to frown a bit, but she gave a short nod before standing up. She had a feeling that Samara wouldn't stay until she left and Joyce knew that Blake wanted to read her this story.... "Night Blake" Joyce said, kissing the top of the boy's head before walking past Samara and out the door. When the two children were alone Samara took a step forward. Yacht “I am surprised you wanted to see me. I’ve heard some interesting rumors… for example, one of the Japanese princes is here in New York. I’ve had a few of my men investigating him. They took some interesting photos.” Kanna stiffened a bit but tried not to look worried. Surely she would have noticed if someone had been taking incriminating photos of her. She would have shot them in the head before they knew what was coming....Unless.... “… Those are your daughters, aren’t they?” Sh*t. Kanna pushed away the initial rage of seeing pictures of her daughters kissing that prince and thought about her choices. She could lie and deny that these girls (who look remarkably like her) were not her daughters...But she had a feeling that wouldn't work. "Y-Yes, it is" she said simply. This was a terrible idea. Diner Adrianna raised a brow "What kind of reason?" she asked, now interested...It had the potential to be a good story she supposed... As long as it didn't involve princes... Musashi’s Safehouse "I'm sure we will eventually" Laila reasoned with a slight smile. "Just think at least you guys are still in better standings than the Germans." EVERYONE was better than the Germans right now. Opera House Crystal quickly shook her head, feeling as if she might have offended the maid. "O-Oh! N-No it's quite alright I don't mind you talking to me, and I appreciate the compliment on my coat!" |

[Yacht] Red Skull took another long sip of wine. His eyes narrowed towards Kanna as she hesitantly admitted that Laila and Adrianna were her children. “I do appreciate the honesty, Kanna… but we seem to have a problem, don’t we?” Red Skull turned and looked out at the bay. “That Prince is a problem. He is passing information along to the Americans that can hurt us, and our ally, Japan. More importantly… that Prince is charismatic. He could potentially undermine the will of the Japanese people to support our needs.” Red Skull turned back to Kanna with his eyes narrowed. “I cannot allow that Prince to survive. I intend to leave New York soon, but before I do, that Prince must be dead. You have one chance, Narroh. Deliver me the Prince… or I will hold you accountable for your children’s bad taste in men.” … Because, you know, Kanna’s never had a problem with that. [Diner] Oliver flushed a bit and rubbed his neck. “Well… it’s not really such a big deal. There were these people… foreigners, trying to cause trouble in London. I… sort of… stopped them. Turns out that His Highness was in the building they were trying to bomb, so… they promoted me.” He shrugged. “It’s just one of those things.” [Musashi’s Safehouse] Musashi had to laugh at Laila’s remark. “Oh, goodie… maybe if we try extra hard we can become as popular as the Soviets.” Musashi had to roll his eyes. Then he leaned closer and put his arm around Laila. “I’m still worried. I doubt it will get better… but… I’m glad I have you.” [Opera House] Maya shook her head. She was just worried about getting in trouble and getting fired… she and Nick needed the money, since somehow Phoenix managed to be the only poor lawyer in the city. “Well… um… enjoying the party?” |

Outside Musashi's safehouse Didymus raised an eyebrow at Violet's discussing, then crossing out, her own opinions of men, and spoke. "I'm afraid you misunderstand, Miss Basil. I AM, officially, still in command...for now. But that may well change soon, and even if it doesn't...most people on the team nojw aren't much for official proceedure, and will simply follow the most charismatic leader or one to whom they have the closest personal ties. In other words, the prince..." He leaned against the wall. "But I do as I am ordered...maybe that's WHY I can't connect with most of our NEW team, but it's how things gotta be...heh." |

Yacht "Trust me, killing the suitor of my daughters will be no problem at all..." Kanna said stiffly "I'll bring you his head in a nice gift-wrapped box" Morbid. But she knew it would be convincing...This wasn't going quite how she expected...Where the hell was Rica anyways!? Diner ".....Impressive" Adrianna said with a small smile, pausing as some food was placed in front of them. She pushed a plate of pancakes at the boy. "Eat up foreigner, enjoy the bounty of fatty American food before they decide to deport all the Europeans outta here for precaution." Musashi’s Safehouse "I'm glad I have you too" Laila said with a little grin, kissing him "Though I think you're going a bit mushy on me. You gotta have one hell of a backbone to deal with this family" Opera House "I am" Crystal said with a smile, looking around as she thought. She then turned her attention back on the maid. "You haven't seen anything suspicious around here tonight...You know, people acting funny or out of place?" |

[Yacht] Red Skull sipped his wine again, watching Kanna with his beady little eyes. There was a thick tension in the air as he waited to speak. Finally he opened his mouth to speak, but suddenly the boat gave a violent lurch and several of the uniformed Nazis fell over. Red Skull’s eyes widened and he jumped up, whipping out his pistol and pointing it at Kanna. “What the hell is going on? Is this your doing?” [Diner] Oliver looked down at the food in front of him and his eyes widened and he suddenly looked very happy. “I hadn’t really thought about it, but… I haven’t eaten all day!” Oliver quickly dug into the pancakes, and he paused, looking up to her. “I can sometimes forget stuff…” [Musashi’s Safehouse] [Inside] Musashi had to laugh, and he leaned back a bit, giving her a smile. “I’ve traveled across the world, sneaked my way through Europe and Asia, crossed the Ocean and helped save your President. I can handle whatever your family can throw at me.” Musashi, you poor naïve bastard. [Outside] “Does it really matter, sir?” Steve asked. He knew that Didymus wasn’t speaking directly to him, but the young man felt he should speak up. “I mean… I admit that I’m new to the service, but… does it matter who people look up to as long as we complete our mission?” [Opera House] Maya, who was nibbling on her hamburger, paused. “Suspicious? No, I haven’t seen anything like that… oh, but I know how to find out!” She reached into her pocket and pulled out a small, round charm. ![]() “I can use this to find suspicious people!” |

Outside Musashi's safehouse "It does, actually..." Didymus said, when Rodgers spoke up. "...but not for the sake of my ego, no, don't worry about that. I mean, sure, I like being looked up to, kind of, heh, and I'm used to a command position, but that's not what the problem is ultimately, though, again, after my service if my reward is an effective demotion it's kind of a morale-killer. Anyway, the reason it matters who people look up to is because it reflects their character. And it could impact the mission. A squad dedicated to the mission and professional codes of conduct as well as one with men connected on a personal level is far more likely to keep loyal and complete the mission in a manner befitting the service than one that cares for its members but not the service's values." He paused. "Additionally, who people look up to shows, in turn, what they value. And who they look up to shows who they follow, and in turn, what they are willing to do or will do when ordered by one person or another. In short, those who look up to those with professionalism and dedication are likely to exhibit those qualities themselves, whereas those who don't...do not value those things and are unlikely to demonstrate them." He breathed. "Of course, it's one's own free choice what to value, except perhaps in military service...and that's what worries me. A lot of people coming on this sensitive military op care very little for that, and, though their intentions are good enough, this lack of professional dedication and such concerns me..." |

Yacht Kanna gave a little yelp, grasping the side of the boat so that she wouldn't fall over. As tough as she was the woman wasn't the best swimmer...That and the Hudson was disgusting. When she looked back to Red Skull she noticed him pointing a gun at her face. She couldn't help but to give a small grin. "What? You think I can control the water or something!? Sorry, i'm not that talented" Kanna stop smart-mouthing a Nazi. Diner Adrianna couldn't help but to give a small laugh, watching this strange boy chowing down on pancakes as if he hadn't eaten in a month. “I can sometimes forget stuff…” "For some reason i'm not surprised" she said, taking a small bite of her own food. Musashi’s Safehouse Laila couldn't help it...She absolutely cracked up. Poor Musashi had no clue what he was up against...Even if she wasn't a ruthless killer Kanna could kill him without blinking...And the boy wouldn't fare much better with her dad. "Whatever you say Musashi" she giggled. Opera House Crystal blinked, looking down at the pendant that Maya pulled out. She had never seen anything like that...."What is it?" she asked, raising a brow. |

[Yacht] “Just what the hell is going on, Narroh!?” Red Skull demanded. He was ready to kill her, but Kanna had always been useful before now. Suddenly Rica sprang out of the water! A torrential cyclone of water was floating around his legs, Amon style, and he jumped down onto the deck of the ship. Several of the Nazis started shooting at him, but Rica whipped out a pistol in each hand and shot several of them! Red Skull sword, and turned to Kanna. “This IS your doing!” [Diner] Oliver had to flush a bit in the face. He felt embarrassed to admit the trouble he could get himself in. “So… tell me about yourself, Adrianna.” Oliver changed the subject. “You seem pretty interesting.” Hahaha… you have no idea. [Musashi’s Safehouse] [Inside] Musashi raised an eyebrow. “Are they really that bad?” He paused, remembering that Laila’s father had nearly killed Nanami. “… Actually… now that you mention it…” Musashi gulped. [Outside] “I understand that, sir.” Steve replied, nodding. “And I agree with you… however, you must recall that most of these people are not military professionals. Expecting them to live up to the same standards seems like a long shot. If you can train them, that might make a big difference, but if not, perhaps you just need to find ways to work with them.” He shrugged. “I’m no expert, sir. I’ve only been in the military for a few days now… but I’ve always watched people. I’m sure with the right approach you can lead them effectively, sir.” [Opera House] Maya had to grin. “It’s a Magatama! See… with this, you can see if people have any secrets. If you’re holding this and you ask someone a question, you’ll be able to see if they’re hiding something or not!” |

Musashi's safehouse Didymus listened to Rodgers, and sighed. "I...were it so simple." He paused. "...however, you must recall that most of these people are not military professionals. Expecting them to live up to the same standards seems like a long shot." "While I am concerned that this group will be woefully lacking when the crud really does hit the fan in that they won't live up to professional standards, it's not that itself that may be my biggest issue...it's that they aren't even willing to TRY. The very concept of military professionalism seems...to be something they are at best disinclined against, if not outright hostile to." "If you can train them, that might make a big difference, but if not, perhaps you just need to find ways to work with them.” "I'm sure they'd love it if I taught them all the tricks about combat I've gathered up, but only if it was in a casual, unprofessional manner with none of the value instilling that training programs include. So, in other words, the dangerous stuff without the good stuff. I seriously doubt they're interested in actually becoming a proper UNIT. As for working with them...I'm sure they'll accept me as a...necessary...inconvenience." He grinned, slightly. “I’m no expert, sir. I’ve only been in the military for a few days now… but I’ve always watched people. I’m sure with the right approach you can lead them effectively, sir.” "Leadership is a two way street. Most of the time, you can only lead someone who is WILLING to be lead. You want to know who will be able to exert more influence on most of this team? Prince Charming in there. Most of this team is, either directly or by extension, tied to him. I seriously doubt any "approach" I take will allow me to lead, barring ones that are simply out of the question..." He sighed. "Perhaps the best I, and anyone more "professional" on this team, can hope for is to at least pull all of them alive out of whatever mess they'll charge headlong into...which I guess wouldn't be too bad, as long as we complete the mission..." |

Yacht Kanna groaned...Rica had such an over the top way of doing things...Hopefully it wouldn't get her shot in the head. Unfortunately she wouldn't be able to survive that kind of wound... "Actually it was Rica's idea...An insanely stupid one now that I think about it" Kanna said, slowly drawing her own gun from the holister on her thigh. "Now think about this before you shoot me" she said "I'm a valuable asset to the organization. You should be proud that I tried to double-cross you" Diner "I'm not that interesting, just a student living in the city." Adrianna said, looking to Oliver. She wasn't sure she wanted to tell some guy about her Nazi mom right off the bat. "I live with my dad and twin brother uptown...We're pretty boring" She also didn't want to mention her current exploits right away...Especially not the part about a certain prince...She was still bitter about that. "I think my mom is part English, though I don't even think she's ever been. Wouldn't mind seeing it myself one day though..." Musashi’s Safehouse Laila giggled. "There are certain adventures you just shouldn't take on" she said with a smile, kissing his forehead. Opera House "Woooow that's pretty amazing...." Crystal said, getting a better look at it. "Do you....Do you think I could borrow it? I mean only for a little bit..." She didn't want to mention the Nazi-hunt. |

[Yacht] Red Skull narrowed his eyes… and then he laughed. “You think you are valuable, Kanna? I have thirty people who could do your job. I serve the Fuhrer himself! You are nothing but a cheap smurf who does my bidding. It seems both you and your children are my enemies… and you will all die.” Red Skull aimed at Kanna, but suddenly a large torrent of water struck him in the head and sent him tumbling into the cabin of the ship. “Shall I sink it?” Rica asked, rushing over to Kanna. [Diner] Oliver had a feeling Adrianna wasn’t telling him everything… but he didn’t blame her. They barely knew one another, and although Oliver was a trusting kind of person, he knew not everyone was like him. “I don’t know if anything in New York can be boring. Especially not someone as pretty as you.” Oliver said, finally finishing off his pancakes. [Opera House] Maya nodded. “Sure! It sounds like you need this for something important, so feel free!” Maya handed the Magatama to Crystal. “Besides, I have a whole bunch of those.” [Musashi’s Safehouse] [Inside] Musashi frowned a bit, looking to her and rubbing his neck. “Laila, I still think we could fix things. I mean… so what if your parents are a little mean… my dad…” Musashi paused, his voice lowered. “My dad… might start a war. I mean… sure, your mom’s a nazi, but… my dad…” I think Musashi might have the worse parent for this one. [Outside] Steve paused. “To be fair, sir… if they were the type of people who could aspire up to military professionalism, then I’m sure they would have joined the military on their own. From what I can gather, they’re in this situation not by choice, but by circumstance.” “And the Prince is how you lead them.” Snake appeared. He had returned, with a cigar in his mouth. Steve instinctively saluted him, as he had Didymus when he first arrived. “I don’t follow, sir?” Steve was confused by Snake’s comment. “The reality is most of those people are civilians. Didymus is right, they’re going to follow the Prince.” Snake blew out a smoke ring. “… but don’t forget, Didymus, that Prince is military. You just need to convince him to do things your way, and he’ll convince the others for you.” |

Outside Musashi's safehouse “To be fair, sir… if they were the type of people who could aspire up to military professionalism, then I’m sure they would have joined the military on their own. From what I can gather, they’re in this situation not by choice, but by circumstance.” "I don't know, Rodgers..." Didymus said. "...they seem to be all signing on for personal reasons-again, the two girls are devoted to the prince, their brother devoted to them and by extension the prince, that one guy who's devoted to the bodyguard who's devoted to the prince...it really looks like...heh, feelings-or a more honorable sense, perhaps, of family loyalty...are driving a lot of this." he said. "I don't profess to know all that's going on, but it does seem like a lot of that is playing in." Then, Snake spoke, and Didymus looked intrigued, a bit at least. "Hmm...a most fascinating proposition..." he said. "...I confess, I'm not exactly confident that the prince WILL see things my or our way-he IS technically JAPANESE military, but even then I've read his bio and nothing I heard from his former teammates contradicts that he isn't exactly a military archetype. He may think more like...a civilian...than a soldier. Or Marine." He smirked at that last part. "...that may be part of WHY they're so devoted to him. I suspect that if he were more like any of us, the ladies wouldn't have flocked to him. Not all of them, at least." He chuckled this time. "...with that said, again, it is a most interesting proposition. I mean, obviously I shall attempt to make my case in any situation we may encounter. I wonder if it will even be possible to make him see things in a more professional manner...and even if I did, he's still the one who will be looked to at the forefront, to inspire and rally...on the other hand, maybe that just means more weight off my shoulders." He chuckled again. "Again, a most fascinating proposition, Snake...not sure it will work or create an ideal situation, but certainly worth considering..." |

-Hawkins' House- Blake sat on the edge of the bed, holding the book then motioned towards Samara. “Come on...you can sit next to me...” Blake said, patting the spot next to him, “I really do think you'd like this story...Maybe we can find a Blue Fairy too and you can be real...” -Yacht- “I don't think you will...” The blond haired man from earlier stepped forward, adjusting the cuffs of his suit idly, staring with cold blue eyes at Rica and Kanna. “You can control water...interesting,” the man said, then flexed his hands. Water spiraled from the side of the boat, swirling around the blond haired man, forming into spikes of ice, floating around him. “My name is Walter, and now I have to kill you...” The ice spikes flew at Rica and Kanna! |

[Yacht] Rica’s eyes widened behind his sunglasses as Walter started to control the waters. He had just fought that Japanese girl who had his element, and now someone new? Flicking his wrist, Rica created a sword out of ice and spun around and chopped the ice spikes down in mid-air. Rica then paused, looking to Walter. “I think you’ll find killing me will be challenging.” Rica chuckled. “Now let’s see which of us is better, kid.” Rica charged forward, and as he did he took control of some water on the deck and sent large spikes of ice shooting at Walter’s feet! [Outside Musashi’s Safehouse] Snake took a long drag on his cigar and slowly blew out the smoke up into the night sky. Then he looked back over to Didymus. “He might be Japanese military, but he’s still military. There’s some things that most military professionals have in common regardless of where they’re from. It’s far from ideal… but in war, we rarely have the luxury of ‘ideal’. You do what you have to, to get the result you need.” Snake looked back to Didymus. “If you’re right and the Prince is the one they’re looking up to, then you just need to convince him that you’re right. Let him worry about getting everyone else on board with your plan.” |

Outside Musashi's safehouse "It wasn't the fact he was JAPANESE military that I was presenting as the primary obstacle to your proposal." Didymus said. "It was that, again, his records and the testimony of his team mates indicate he isn't really a military professional. Not that he lacks talent at anything relating to it, but...he nonetheless thinks on a level more comparable with...well, our new "recruits". Which means the professionalism you're insisting we'd have in common...we won't. Not as much as we SHOULD at least." He paused. "Still, in light of the circumstances, if indeed they are all going to follow him...it may well be the best bet to keeping everyone alive, trying to persuade him to see things in a more professional light...but...there WILL, in all likelihood, be times where our opinions WILL inevitably differ. Considerably. Over things that are kind of a big deal. ...that may be trouble. I need to know who will and won't be willing to do what's needed." |
