[Musashi’s Safehouse]

Nanami listened for a few minutes as he explained several things. At first, she was annoyed when his tone went to being more silly and she wondered if she would have to interrupt him and remind him of how serious this question was… but very quickly he went back to being completely serious.

She could more than relate to his woes over the country of his heritage being involved in the problems with Europe. Not only was the country she was pledged to protect an large part of the Axis powers, but she personally knew the Emperor, and her father was HIS bodyguard and chief advisor, and she knew her father had been very supportive of the alliance with Germany and Italy.

“… Hmm… Good. I’ve seen a lot of very skilled people waste their talents.” She said, and for a split second that tiny smile played at the corner of her lip, but she repressed it quickly.

His notion of wanting to ‘hold history’ was a little strange to her, but she supposed that was her job in a sense. She was supposed to keep Musashi alive for the good of her country, as he could have one day found himself the Emperor, and that could make him a major player in the world’s history.

Still, her concern was more the present than the future.

She was probably going to say more, since she had barely spoken during his explanation, but then she asked him a question in response and for a moment she was angry with him. The last thing she wanted was another implication that she had some attraction to the spiky-headed idiot.

Nanami hesitated. She could pretty easily just say it was her duty and make him move away from the door with violence… but he had answered her question in what seemed like an honest way, and he had agreed to protect Musashi… and even mentioned he wouldn’t let her sacrifice herself.

Nanami swore in Japanese. She wanted to lie to him, but she couldn’t… being angry at someone who was lying would be easy, but Marco had been too honest for her to ignore.

“… Musashi does not think about the consequences of his actions… he rushes into everything… he’s headstrong and stubborn and doesn’t take no for an answer… he never knows when to quit and he’s convinced he can accomplish something even when he knows it’s impossible… and he’s a complete pervert.”

She paused. “… But… he’s only doing this because he believes in his cause. He wants to prevent a war and save countless lives… and he was willing to throw away his title, his inheritance, and his life on a stupid, long shot plan… He’s willing to give up everything to try to maintain peace and do what he thinks is right.”

She sighed, shrugging her shoulders. She took off her glasses and rubbed the top of her nose between her eyes.

“… For as hopeless as it all is… if there’s even a chance I can stop this war, or at least stop Japan from getting involved in it… then I have to try.”

She then paused, and looked away from him.

“… and I already explained that there would be nothing ‘happy’ about a marriage to Kojiro.”

[Waterfront]

Cherion paused for a moment.

“We’re the Sakura Team. We’ve deal with guns and sorcery before, and we’re prepared to do so again. Don’t underestimate what we can do.” She said matter-of-factly.

Snake, meanwhile, shook his head. “… I’ll just do my thing. They’ll never know I’m there.”

[Waterfront Safehouse]

Skull said nothing. If the Thule Society honestly believed that Hitler viewed Japan as ‘equals’, then they were fools too blinded by their own sorcery to have noticed Hitler’s talk of ‘purity’.

Not that Schmidt cared. He had a freakin’ scarlet skull for a face. He was pretty sure Hitler would have him killed once he was no longer useful… which was why Schmidt was already making plans to succeed the Fuhrer eventually.

Musashi's Safehouse

Nanami's answer to his question, was fairly satisfactory. It still wasn't focused enough on simply what she thinks she should do herself, but it still was enough to know for sure of both Musashi's and Nanami's dedication to the goal.

He'd have to work on Nanami, though, to get her to focus a little more on herself, he thought to himself.

In addition, he was quite curious for more info about that situation with Kojiro, but the only way he'd be able to pull any more info from her about that, would be if he had to answer any new question about himself first. Especially with how she turned away at just mentioning him.

He would have to pick his spots, for asking more about that.

"Very good..." he said, mostly to himself. "Though I guess we now get to play 'heroes' in another and either save Laila and Phone-Girl's mom from the Germans, or save the city from their mother..."

Marco then clapped his hands together before speaking out a bit louder, "Still better than sticking around here not doing anything, at least!"

[Musashi’s Safehouse]

Nanami was still not looking directly at Marco. She didn’t want to answer any more questions, especially about Kojiro. She didn’t turn back around until Marco spoke up again, and he seemed to be in the same high spirits as ever.

She really did not understand why.

“We’ll have to do both.” Nanami decided, turning back to Marco and leaning against the wall so that she was facing him. “Now listen up, because I don’t want Musashi to hear this… but there’s a good chance I’m going to have to kill Laila and Adrianna’s mother.”

Nanami talks about killing her boss’s girlfriend’s mother the same way some people talk about the weather.

“If she is a nazi, then there’s probably no reasoning with her… at the same time, she might be a wealth of information.”

Musashi’s Safehouse

Laila reeeaaallly wanted to listen in on the conversation of Nanami and Marco, and was relatively close to doing so- before a knock at the door tore away her attention. She hesitated for a second, after all they were supposed to be in hiding and it could be anyon-

"Laila you idiot let me in!"

Laila groaned, moving to the door and opening it to reveal Adrianna. She eyed her sister and stepped in before softening her expressing a bit when she noticed Musashi.

"Next time warn me before you up and change houses, I effing thought you guys were blown up"

Coffee Shop

"T-Thanks..." Melanie said softly to Rica, looking down. It seemed as if she was debating something for a few moments before she finally looked up.

Perhaps this would help convince Kanna to come see her.

"M-Mom, ummmm just so you know...I'm pregnant again"

This was not an easy thing to tell her mom. The first time Melanie was with child Kanna yelled for two days and then ignored her for two months. The second time she left the country. Despite all the anger though the woman did manage to calm down enough to actually see the babies.

"........What?" Kanna stated, turning around. In all truth Melanie couldn't tell if she was about to be hugged or killed....Luckily Kanna's glare quickly turned to Galv "....YOU"

Downtown Warehouse

"Oh goodness...We're in trouble" Crystal muttered under her breath, while she worked with a lot of government espionage and such she was still used to being behind a desk....This was a bit intense... "Shoot first and ask questions later then?" she added.

[Musashi’s Safehouse]

Musashi rubbed the back of his neck as a very angry Adrianna was let into the building. He frowned and looked over to her, wondering if she was going to use any of her super strength to hurt him.

Which she could.

“Sorry Adrianna, we didn’t have much time to switch to a new safehouse.” Musashi frowned, looking to Adrianna.

Nanami seemed to noticed Adrianna had arrived. She looked over to Marco. “Remember what we talked about.”

Then she turned and headed towards Adrianna. “You said you followed your mother to a warehouse before, right? Can you take us there? Now? We need some answers, and this is our only lead.”

[Coffee Shop]

Rica just shook his head and ordered a vodka. Not for him, but for Galv. If the boy was still alive in five minutes, he would need some alcohol.

[Downtown Warehouse]

“I’m fine with shooting now and getting the heck out of here,” Sama frowned.

The HYDRA agents rushed forward, and one of them seemed to notice Sama and Crystal. He raised his machine gun and immediately started firing.

Sama grabbed Crystal and rushed back behind some of the boxes. Bullets were bouncing all around, smashing through the wooden crates.

“Damn!” Sama shouted. He darted forward and fired a few times at the knees of the nearest HYDRA agent.

-Coffee Shop-

Galv stiffened, glaring back at Kanna as she turned towards him, accusing the red head of getting Melanie pregnant.

“Yes?” Galv asked, frowning, “I wasn't aware I needed anyone but my wife of over a decade and a half permission's to have another child.”

Not that either of the two had planned on another child, but Galv wasn't going to let Kanna know that.

Old Man Sensei just stood back and watched. It was quite entertaining.

-Streets-

“...I'm sure...” Blake nodded to Samara, then hurried off.

He paused, faintly hearing yelling...someone...his sister, calling his name!

“Oh no...” Blake muttered, hurrying, heading towards the waterfront...

Sage plugged his ears as Joyce shouted for her brother, looking worried.

No answer came, and he sighed, giving Joyce a short pat on her good shoulder.

“The city is a big place,” he said, “He's gotta be around here somewhere...”

-Waterfront-

“I'll stick behind,” Jenny said, “I can keep an eye on things and make sure no one makes a run for it...signal me if you need medical attention though...”

Coffee Shop

"Hey! Like five of those years shouldn't even count! Melanie was entirely too young to get married when you knocked her up!"

Was 'knocked her up' even a phrase back then? I imagine Kanna made it cool

"Moooooom calm down!" Melanie exclaimed with a frown. She wanted her mom to stick around, but not while yelling at her husband. "It's really not that serious!"

Streets

Joyce sighed, she wasn't even sure why she thought that would work....Instead she just hurt her voice.

The girl sighed, looking back to Sage as he placed a hand on her shoulder. "Yeah...We just goota keep looking..."

[...]

Samara frowned, running alongside Blake. She could have easily changed into a puff and floated beside him but she didn't want to...

"Where are we going?" she asked.

Downtown Warehouse

Crystal gave a shriek, ducking behind a bunch of crates with Sama. She could feel bullets whizzing past her head, but thankfully she hadn't been hit.

"I need some kind of weapon! What have you got?!" she exclaimed in a panic.

Musashi’s Safehouse

Adrianna still looked a bit upset, but gave a shrug. "We can try it" she said "But I doubt she's still around there..."

But other people could be....Dangerous people.

Laila couldn't help but to raise a brow at Nanami.....Five minutes ago the girl wouldn't hear of it when she wanted to find her mom...But now she wanted to? "What kind of answers do you need?" she asked, arms crossed.

Galv glared at Kanna. He knew that it was a stupid idea to get into an argument with the woman, but then Galv many times did stupid things.

“We were both older then you were when you had your first child,” Galv countered back, “Besides, I proposed to her before I knew!”

They were probably drawing attention to themselves...

-Streets-

“I'm sure once we find him, he'll be happy to see you,” Sage said, still trying to cheer up Joyce, “We'll find him, and I'll treat both of you to ice cream or something, alright?”

“I'm not sure...to the water...” Blake said, “My dad and sister don't like the water that much...”

While Galv and Joyce wouldn't short circuit in water, they still had to be especially careful not to shock others while in the water, so it was a bit annoying for them.

Coffee Shop

Melanie groaned, suddenly remembering why Kanna came around only once in a blue moon...She and Galv hated each other.

"Galv, don't" Melanie said, placing her hands on Galv's arm as if trying to keep him from punching out her mom. She knew he never would....Maybe.

Melanie then paused, giving a little whimper...She moved to the seat next to Rica and sat down.

Streets

Joyce sighed but gave a nod. She grabbed his hand and gave it a little squeeze. "Alright...And thanks"

[...]

Samara nodded, following the boy. "O-Okay....Do you know how to swim" she added.

“I think we should go, Melanie,” Galv said to his wife, “Your mother obviously doesn't want anything to do with me, and doesn't seem to care about her grandchildren.”

He shot another glare towards Kanna.

-Streets-

“It's no problem...even if you weren't my girlfriend now, you're still my best friend,” Sage said, giving Joyce's hand a small squeeze back, “And Blake's a good kid, I like him. I don't like the idea of him wandering out alone here either...”

“My...mom taught me, last summer...” Blake answered, nodding to Samara, “She...brought me to a class...thought I could make friends there...”

He didn't.

[Coffee Shop]

Rica sipped his coffee.

“Come on, Kanna… it’s not like Melanie is the first person in your family to get knocked up unexpectedly.”

Rica is going to get punched. Or stabbed.

[Musashi’s Safehouse]

Nanami turned and looked to Laila, her eyes narrowed a bit.

“… Your mother is connected to all of this somehow. We need to find out how. I don’t intend to ask her any questions – we’re going to investigate the warehouse and see what we can find out.”

Nanami turned, looking back at Marco, and sending him a glare that was basically a warning to keep his mouth shut.

“We need to go. Now.”

[Downtown Warehouse]

Sama quickly handed his revolver to Crystal.

“Here, take this!” He paused as a bullet smashed into a box over his head. He frowned, grabbing the second pistol he had gotten from the field kit, and he leaned forward and shot at the HYDRA agents. He hit one of them, but the man’s body armor seemed to block the bullet.

“This is really bad…” Sama frowned. And then he remembered the dagger… he knew that it could save them, but he would not use it… he couldn’t.

The operative raised an eyebrow.

"You don't approve of my appraisal...?"

He chuckled. It was a rather unsettling chuckle, as if he saw and knew things no man was supposed to...

Waterfront

"I know you've dealt with some things before..." Didymus said.

You could argue that that's what concerns me...

He sighed, and was queit for a moment.

"Alright. Let's do this..."

Marco was not a huge fan of killing. That's one part of why he didn't like wars, or any of that stuff going on in Europe currently. So he wasn't particularly thrilled in hearing that they might have to kill Laila and Phone-Girl's mom. But first up, convincing Nanami in a theoretical situation to not kill that woman, he could tell, would be impossible.

Secondly, she WAS entirely correct about that. If it was the worst case scenario, they might have to kill that woman.

Marco nodded to Nanami, and followed her out of the room, and silently listened in as she spoke.

“We need to go. Now.”

"Sure thing, boss!"

[Musashi’s Safehouse]

Nanami gathered everyone, and headed out of the safehouse. The town house they had broken into had a rather nice car in the garage, which Nanami quickly hotwired so they could take it. There was a chance Kojiro knew Marco’s car, and that meant it could be dangerous to drive around in.

Once everyone was in the new car, Nanami got the directions from Adrianna and they were off.

(If everyone is okay with this seating arrangement…)

Musashi was in the backseat, between Laila and Adrianna, and feeling slightly awkward about it. Nanami and Marco were in the front, with Nanami driving because she’s bossy.

“When we get there, we need to be careful. If you see your mother, we should hide and keep away from her. All I want are her notes and papers, and whatever else we can find.” Nanami explained.

[Warehouse at the Docks]

Nanami pulled up the car across the street from the warehouse. The warehouse sat on the docks, and it was here that Kanna had gone earlier.

“Is everyone ready?” Nanami asked.

[Waterfront Safehouse]

Red Skull narrowed his eyes.

“… I don’t care for your attitude, or the fact that you seem to think that you are my superior. I’ll remind you that I report only to the Fuhrer. Now do what you need to do, but do not compromise my mission.”

[Waterfront]

Snake followed Didymus.

Musashi’s Safehouse

"Last time I checked you have no say in what I do if I see my mother" Adrianna snapped at Nanami from the back seat. "I'll talk to her if I see fit"

"Actually Nanami has a point..." Laila interrupted, all the while slinking her hand around Musashi's and intertwining fingers. "We should be careful and watch for a bit, we don't want to get mom into any danger"

Soon they pulled up and everyone got out....Laila frowned and looked out. "This place is sketchy....Matches mom"

Adrianna rolled her eyes "Let's just go in"

Downtown Warehouse

Crystal frowned but took the gun, poking her head above the crates long enough to take two shots at the agent's arms. Her hands shook but she gave a little whoop of joy when she hit her target.

Of course she had to duck back down when a half-dozen bullets came at her.

"EEP!" she yelped, the crate cracking around here. "Let's move please!"

Coffee Shop

Melanie frown but gave a little nod....She needed to find her son and didn't have time to worry about this...

Even though it was tearing her up inside.

"I wish she would come though...." she muttered sadly

[...]

Kanna glared at Rica, smacking him upside the head. "You think this is just a joke don't you!? Last time I checked this isn't a good time for my daughter to be with child!"

The last two times Kanna had just been upset with Melanie because she was having children with Galv...This time she was worried. With the Nazis around it was not a good time to bring a new life in this world.

Streets-

Samara frowned but kept following the boy until they reached the water. She looked out and frowned a bit. There was a lot of water here...While she was a part of Blake she had never even seen water in this form.

[...]

"Thanks" Joyce said sweetly, leaning in quickly and giving him a kiss on the cheek...She then gave a little cough, moving back with a red face. "W-We should keep looking."
