I'll bite your legs off!

Military post Didymus spoke. "Thank you, sir." he said. If they were dismissed, he would turn to leave. Once they were outside, he'd give a look to Samuel and Alice. "I expect YOU to come forward on your own, at least, that's my official excuse for not telling. Us telling them about it would only get you in MORE trouble than you simply letting it out yourself." he said to Samuel. He then looked to the two of them. "And with that being said, unless either of you have anything else for me...well, I doubt you need an escort home, Malvin, so I suppose I bid you two good evening." He turned to leave (but could be stopped, obviously, if either of them had anything to say). |

-Hydron- Jimi was unaware someone was watching him, with Colette on his shoulders, and worried about the test. He knew a bit about engineering, his parents having taught him some...But it never appealed to him very much. “Don't worry Jimster!” Hammah said, “I'll be good enough for both of us!” Walter paused, then nodded. “Alright then. Let's go.” He wasn't worried. Walter doesn't tend to show or experience many emotions. Cess grinned, leading Shimera back into the city, looking around. He needed to impress this girl...And she wanted adventure. “I know of a tavern...” Cess said, “A hive of scum and villainy. It might be fun...Would you like to go?” -Military Post- “Wait...” Samuel said, stepping towards Didymus, “I'm not going to step forward...and I need you both to know why...” He sighed, frowning, “I'm forty-nine years old. I look about five years older then both of you. Because of my...ability, I don't seem to age...Or at least not very fast. And remember the incident five years ago? I was very close to the explosion...I survived without a scratch.” Samuel paused, looking around, “I need this job to support my son...but what do you think the military would do with a soldier that can't get hurt? They'd almost certainly send me against enemies of the state, expecting me to eliminate them...And Alice...I don't use a gun because I don't want to kill anyone. I'll stop them, but I can't kill someone when they don't have the same chance against me...” |

Hydron "Oh, yay!" Shimera exclaimed. "Sounds like fun!" Unfortunately, Shimera had no clue what a tavern was. Her parents were very secretive. -- Hearing voices a while behind her, KxS hid behind another building to wait for those people to pass. She didn't want to be seen just yet. She didn't want to appear suspicious. KxS sighed. She was never going to make friends like this. |

Hydron: Outskirts "Oh I want to help!" Colette exclaimed happily "I can do stuff too!" [...] "I'm sure they can think of someway to entertain themseleves, isn't that right Jason" Jason sighed and shrugged "Sure, i'll think of something" "Good. Now get out of here, i've got lots of business to talk about." Jason shuddered but motioned for Melanie and Maize to follow. [...] Spoony mother (who I suddenly cannot remember if she has a name or not!) shuddered at Knife's idea but brought her hand up, silencing both of her children with a simple movement. "We'll see how she does over.......dinner....What a nice little test that will be" she decided, moving next to Knife as he came back. "You are so kind, letting such a lowly thing come to dinner..." she added through clenched teeth. "If she ruins my carpets you're replacing them ALL" she added. Sophie's not a puppy! Hydron: Slums Meanwhile Sophie rushed down the road, hading back to her grandfather's shop. Much to her delight the girl made it back home in just a few moments, entering to a dark shop. The girl blinked, looking around. Usually her grandfather was still up... "Graaaaanddad!!" Sophie called out, looking around "Where are ya?" The girl climbed the stairs and headed towards her grandfather's room. The girl rushed in and let out a little breath. Her granddad was just in bed....But something didn't look right. "Oh Sophie, you're h-home" Sophie nodded, walking in and stopping at his bed. "You okay? It's not bed time yet" "Just not feeling well child, nothing to worry about" Sophie didn't seem convinced but she nodded "Can I get you anything?" The old man shook his head and gave a loud cough "Just need some rest. You go run along and play or something" "...Uh okay..." Sophie turned to leave but was suddenly stopped as her grandfather sat up in his bed, coughing a bit more "Oh Sophie, before you go-" "Yes?" "You look beautiful, going somewhere nice?" Sophie blinked, looking down at her half singed dress, before looking back up and smiling. "Uh thanks grandad" |

-Seedy Tavern- Cess led Shimera into the seedy tavern, a few patrons looking up at them, but not paying much attention. It was loud and crowded, and several different gambling games were going on. “Hello Mr. Duckworth,” Cess said to the barkeep, “How things been?” “Fine, Cess,” the barkeep answered, “Been making sure Ila's been okay. Heard something happened on that airship.” “Crashed,” Cess answered, waving his had idly as it didn't matter. “Who's the lady?” Duckworth asked. “Her name's Shimera,” Cess grinned, “Shimera, this is Mr. Duckworth. He looks over my things when I'm out.” “Pleased to meet you miss. What'll you have?” Duckworth asked, “First one's on the house.” -Hydron Streets- Jimi grinned up at Colette, “I'm sure you'll get a chance to prove yourself too! For now...when is the test? Not now, is it?” “Come on, it won't be that bad,” Maize said to Jason, “Not like you're babysitting two little kids...I'm your age, at least!” Galv was following...Thankfully, he didn't have a newspaper. |

[Military Post] “Hold on now...” Alice put herself between Samuel and Didymus. “Enough of this. Samuel, you can't work as a peacekeeping officer and expect not to have to kill someone. Given your... unique... abilities, I can understand you not killing to defend yourself... but when it comes to protecting the people of Hydron, I expect you to do whatever it takes. If it means you have to take a life to protect the innocent, then I expect you to.” She paused and turned to Didymus. “THAT said... if you turn in my subordinate, I will do everything I can to have you booted from the force. I understand Samuel's reasoning for keeping this a secret.” [Hydron] Rica chuckled a bit and turned to Kanna. “Shall we be off then?” […] Knife chuckled and leaned close to his wife's ear. “Relax. I'll allow that... child... into our home only to show Spoony just how wrong she is for him. I have it all under control.” [Stark Industries] Sama led Crystal, Jimi, Hammah and Colette to the large workshop owned by Tony Stark. As they headed inside, Sama flipped the switch and the room was illuminated in light. A large steam engine was loudly humming in the back, as Sama stepped to the middle of the room and whipped off his jacket. “Okay! Your first test... you have half an hour to build something. Don't care what; and you can use all the materials from this room. But it has to be impressive!” |

I understand Samuel's reasoning for keeping this a secret.” Didymus scowled back at Alice. "Hmph. I understand his point of view, but this isn't like someone who got drunk once and needed to be covered for. This...well, I already said. I expect you to come forward about it yourself, Samuel." He sighed, and turned around. "I take it you desire my company no further. As long as you have a safe ride or escort home, Malvin, I bid you good evening." He started to walk away. |

-Military Post- “I will kill if I have to...” Samuel sighed, “It's...just, like you said, we're a peace keeping force. If that's true...then it should be a last resort...But I won't let anyone else die because of me...” He paused, frowning at Didymus. “I will not step forward...” Samuel said, “Not about this...I have to be able to look over my son...” As Didymus walked off, Samuel turned to Alice. “Do you need any help getting home?” Samuel asked, “Galv should be home by now.” Or chasing after a pretty girl... -Stark Industries- “Err...are we allowed to work together?” Jimi wondered. Hammah had a look of pure glee on his face, rushing forward and beginning to build. Hopefully he wouldn't accidentally build flesh eating robots. |

[Military Post] Alice frowned, and quickly moved in front of Didymus. “Now see here you... I'll not allow you to go making trouble for my subordinates! Samuel is under my command, so it's my choice in the matter. I may decide to tell the higher ups myself... but that's my choice, not yours!” She frowned, crossing her arms. “I like you Didymus. You're a good soldier... but if you plan to make trouble for my team, I'll do everything I can to stop you.” [Stark Industries] Sama shrugged. “You can work together if you want, but remember this is a test of your abilities. If you can't handle it yourself... well, you just have to decide what's best for you.” |

Military post “Now see here you... I'll not allow you to go making trouble for my subordinates! Samuel is under my command, so it's my choice in the matter. I may decide to tell the higher ups myself... but that's my choice, not yours!” Clearly agitated, Didymus spoke. "Perhaps, and perhaps it is his choice...although since you're next in his chain of command, I suppose it does fall to you..." He nodded. "Very well. I expect YOU to come forward with it, then. I understand his concerns, but again, this entire affair reeks of dishonesty. Regardless, I'll hope that you come forward, and..." “I like you Didymus. You're a good soldier... but if you plan to make trouble for my team, I'll do everything I can to stop you.” Something Alice said seemed to anger Didymus even more. "I understand that you wish to look out for your subordinates; a good officer plans nothing less. I think that's good. But now, you may have a responsibility to carry out. ...and...just...never mind." You like me? Sure. How stupid do you think I am? "...so again, unless you need an escort home and would prefer me over a man who can survive an explosion unscathed, I suppose I bid you both good evening." |

-Military Post- Samuel paused, then shook, stepping towards Didymus. “My first responsibility is to my son,” Samuel said, shaking, growing angry, “I have to be there for him. I saw his mother, my wife, die right in front of me while I survived. My power is not a gift. It's a curse. I get to watch everyone around me die while I keep going. “I don't know if I will outlive my son or if I'll age yet at some point. I don't want to have to be away from him for what time I do have with him, because the military decides my ability is needed in other places,” Samuel continued. “If the military finds out about my ability...I will quit. I won't let them use me as some kind of assassin or the like,” Samuel glared, “I'll find some other job, probably where I won't be able to help as many people as I can right now. As long as I can make sure my son doesn't starve...” -Stark Industries- Jimi frowned, looking at the stuff, and started focusing, trying to put something together. Hammah, meanwhile, was having a grand ol' time. |

[Military Post] “ENOUGH. BOTH OF YOU.” Alice shouted, now growing angry herself. “Samuel, stop talking. You're making the matter worse. And when I say stop talking, that's an ORDER. Now keep your mouth shut, or else.” She turned and looked to Didymus. “You say this reeks of dishonesty? Exactly what is dishonest? Keeping a secret isn't dishonest. This hasn't impacted Samuel's ability to do his job! I've known him a long time and he's a good soldier! Don't make accusations about the reputation of my team.” She shook her head. “I'll say it again: you come after my team, and I'll do everything I can to see you stripped of that uniform and on the street. I hoped we could be friends, but if you insist on being enemies, I won't lose!” |

Military post Didymus sighed. "I believe I see your side of the issue, Samuel...but let me ask you: if you didn't want to be forced to spend extended periods of time away from your loved ones, then why did you join up? I'm sure you didn't honestly think that you'd be allowed to simply do and do as you please. Regardless...I think I can see your side...but I find myself seriously doubting you can or even WISH to see mine." “You say this reeks of dishonesty? Exactly what is dishonest? Keeping a secret isn't dishonest. This hasn't impacted Samuel's ability to do his job! I've known him a long time and he's a good soldier! Don't make accusations about the reputation of my team.” "Keeping a secret isn't dishonest? Perhaps not per se, I'll concede that I'm not sure if we're ordered to report all abilities we observe, so in that regard, this may be with the letter of the law, but doesn't country have a place in one's responsibilities as well as family? Don't the needs of the many outweigh those of the few?" “I'll say it again: you come after my team, and I'll do everything I can to see you stripped of that uniform and on the street. I hoped we could be friends, but if you insist on being enemies, I won't lose!” Didymus paused. Threatening to strip me of my uniform? Just like he did... He chuckled. Grimly. "I understand. I don't wish to be enemies either. And perhaps this isn't as big an issue as I seem to make it out to be. Again, you're next in Samuel's chain of command, so it's your job to report this-not mine, if indeed this is a duty. You MAY have noticed that I didn't express it to Mustang-BECAUSE I know that if I have to say anything, at least one of you two may get in trouble. Of course, maybe I'd be in trouble if either of you did say anything." He shook his head. This is how it is. You're the only one who seems to care about this sort of thing. And this side of Heaven, at least, behold your reward. He heaved a heavy sigh, as if a burden had just come upon him, or he had lost something, and they may have noticed that he looked...sad, for a moment. "I'm going to assume that you're going to come clean with this in your report to write, Malvin. And so I'm going to be quiet, because I trust that as a good officer, you will see what is asked of you, and command will make of it what they will." Can they at least understand that, or am I going to get ANOTHER lecture...well, she IS an aristocrat, so she's probably not smart enough to read between the lines. "But Malvin...you would have had me stripped of my uniform? How? By using your influence? What offence or breach of integrity would you have charged me with? Would you have dug through my record in an effort to destroy me?" He shook his head and gave his grim chuckle again. "...I was hoping that MAYBE we could be friends, as well. I don't know if I still am; I'm frankly not sure I can tell what kind of woman you are, I admit. Either way, I suppose we need not be enemies...now unless, again, you require an escort home, I sincerely do bid the both of you a good evening." |

[Military Post] “I'm the kind of woman who is loyal to her friends. I've known Samuel for a long time. He's a good solider. He's saved a lot of lives and he's proudly served this city time and time again! The fact you'd pressure him to reveal a personal secret that could destroy his reputation and tear my team apart is a serious threat!” She crossed her arms. “Serving isn't about blindly following orders. It's about trying to make a real difference and trying to better this city and the people in it... if you'd do something that would tear my team apart, then I have news for it; it's not helping ANYONE. Section Eight exists only to help people... to clean up the slums... we've had all sorts of pressure, and the higher ups are constantly looking for an opportunity to dissolve Section Eight.” She narrowed her eyes. “You going forward with this... if the higher ups find out Samuel was keeping this a secret, they'll use it as an excuse to destroy Section Eight! My dream is to clean up the slums, to do some real good... if you're a threat to that dream, then as much as I'd hate myself for doing it, YES, I'll abuse my position as a aristocrat to stop you.” |

Military post “Serving isn't about blindly following orders. Section Eight exists only to help people... to clean up the slums... we've had all sorts of pressure, and the higher ups are constantly looking for an opportunity to dissolve Section Eight.” "I see your point, but serving isn't about just disregarding orders on a whim, either. I know that the stories are filled with tales of good-looking outlaws who tell their bosses where to go and do things the way they best see fit, but we have a chain of command for a REASON. Besides, you think that Samuel couldn't do even MORE good being there on a dangerous mission that otherwise would claim the life of its operative, cause one more grieving family rather than one more apprehended villain?" “You going forward with this... if the higher ups find out Samuel was keeping this a secret, they'll use it as an excuse to destroy Section Eight! My dream is to clean up the slums, to do some real good... if you're a threat to that dream, then as much as I'd hate myself for doing it, YES, I'll abuse my position as a aristocrat to stop you.” He brought a palm to his face. "Malvin, let me spell this out for you, in case you somehow didn't get it last time. I HAVE SAID MY PIECE ON THIS. I WILL NOT BE REPORTING TO MUSTANG ABOUT THESE EVENTS. My reason for this that I'm citing is that YOU are Samuel's commanding officer, and as such making reports on his status is YOUR job, I trust that WHATEVER you say will be what needs to be said and as such it is neither proper nor necessary for me to report in Samuel." He hoped that Alice would understand. "I don't know if one man being reassigned due to something that his unit recently discovered is really enough to dissolve your unit, but I think I see your point. Sometimes I really wish that others would see mine, as well, but it appears that critical thinking isn't nearly as two-way as I would think..." he remarked, a hint of sarcasm on his voice. "Regardless, Malvin, don't worry. Your report is your business, and I trust that whatever you say will be enough, that I won't need to say anything more, and as such I don't intend to. But you would hate yourself for destroying me? Well..." He chuckled. "...good, I suppose." You'd relish every second of it, wouldn't you?...what am I thinking? I don't know that...not for sure. He heaved another sigh. "So I think our busniess here is concluded. Unless you want an escort from me, which, I confess, I doubt, I'll be on my way now, and again, I sincerely do bid you both a good evening." |
