Unknown Location "What?" Shiori was quite surprised to see Musashi just fall backwards like he hit something, even though nothing appeared to be there. It must have been an invisible wall of some sort... Though her thought process was suddenly interrupted as she was shot in the back by a paintball, which caused her to yelp in pain. Internally, she was kicking herself for letting her guard down again when she noticed Musashi. But she quickly turned around, after she was hit, and then focused in on Haruka, when that girl shouted out to them. "What are you doing?!" Shiori then yelled out at the other girl. She had no idea what Haruka was planning, but she had to ask, anyways. |

[Unknown Location] “Eh,” Haruka replied with a shrug of her shoulders. “I’d say it’s 40% testing to see if you’re actually good enough for my family, 40% I was bored, and 40% fun on a bun.” She raised the paintball gun up and fired it at Shiori! On the other side of the invisible wall, Musashi was pounding against it and throwing himself on it, trying to find a way past, but without any luck. |

Unknown Location "..." Completely silent, though not shocked at all, in response what Haruka had answered with, Shiori quickly dodged to the left, to try and avoid getting hit by the paintball shot at her. "You have any idea where we could be, Musashi?" she then asked of Musashi, looking over towards where he was still trying to get past the invisible wall. At least in asking him, he had a chance at getting a proper answer about things. Shiori already knew she wasn't going to be getting straight answers from Haruka, since she hadn't given one yet, and Shiori really did not want to get into a fight with Haruka at all, unless her hand was forced. |

[Unknown Location] "I have no idea!" Musashi yelled as he kicked at the invisible wall. "Haruka! Stop this! Whatever crazy idea you have in your head, just stop it already!" Haruka just laughed, shaking her head and re-aiming the paintball gun right at Shiori. She opened fire, shooting several balls of paint at Shiori. "You don't get to leave until I say so, and if you want your answers, you need to play my game!" |

Unknown Location This time, as paintballs were shot at her, Shiori did not move to dodge at all, instead just clinching her teeth to keep herself from yelping out again when she was hit. Haruka may have wanted to have fun messing with Shiori and Musashi, but Shiori was annoyed enough to that she just didn't want to indulge her anymore. "Then I'm just going to stay right here..." she then spoke out, completely devoid of emotion. It was Shiori's hope that by boring her, she might coax Haruka into just letting them go. Though it probably wouldn't work out that way, at least she could probably annoy the girl a little more, by doing that for a bit. That potential pleasure in annoying Haruka probably was something that came from her youkai side. |

[Unknown Location] “…” Haruka did indeed look annoyed. Her eyes were cold and half-lidded as she stared at Shiori, biting down on her bottom lip as she waited. A slow grunt of annoyance escaped from her, and then she crossed her arms as she stared. “… You think this is all just me being a crazy b*tch and messing with you, don’t you? I’ll have you know this is important. You may not like it – and I don’t care. You may hate me, but I don’t care.” She shook her head. “There’s a reason for this game… and you need to play.” |

Kubo Park Inside Lavan's Mind With Lavan awake and alive, the battle was finally turned in favor of the spirits and fully against the Black Blood. With the fire-boy's will joined fully with Nanami's own, The black-haired girl's control and ability in this battle of representations went through the roof. This was Lavan's mind, after all, and he was the ultimate king of what happened here... And all of that control, all of that ability to change this place however he willed, was Nanami's for a short amount of time. It was a signature of trust. In fact, one of the greatest, most telling signs of trust in existence. To freely give control over the deepest parts of ones own mental faculties to someone else is unthinkable, unimaginable even! The deepest secrets the boy held, the darkest things hidden deep within his mind that no one should ever know were open to the girl, fully acce3ssible without any restraint. She needed but think herself about finding these places, and they would be hers, not just Lavan's. And it was a testament to the trust the boy placed in her that she didn't immediately try to think of them, to bring those things to the front. But now, there was a battle to finish, and Nanami's strikes were so much more effective than the spirit's against this thing. As powerful and dangerous the blows of fire from Suzaku, water and ice from Seiryu and the lightning coming from Raiju were, Nanami's very first blow tore the monster's both arms off above the wrist and tore into its torso without mercy. The enormous construct, realizing that it was in danger and with the amount of damage it had sustained from just that one attempt to be rid of it, tried to regenerate, but was doing so far too slowly. With a roar of anguish and fury, it attempted once more to tear Nanami apart, to strike at her, to try to do anything to the girl that would put an end to her attempts. Black wave after black wave of spewed miasma and poisonous black liquid lashed against her in attacking attempts that were more desperate than overwhelming, but Nanami held the upper hand here. And from the aura that settled around her like a burning cloak, she could hear a very undignified sniggering. "You know something, Na-chan? I think it's kind of angry now. It kinda reminds me of that one time when we took down that wannabe-spirit-lord thing when we were still greens. Except without the entire big black wave spitting thing that is just disgusting. Maaaaan, I'll have to clean my head after this... And you have NO IDEA how weird that sounds. Clean my head? How the hell can I "CLEAN" my head?" ... Perhaps distracting Nanami with inane babbling wasn't the brightest idea Lavan had in all his years, but he was awake, and there was nothing that could possibly stop him from being himself again. But while Lavan babbled inanely and Nanami tore the Titan a new one, Suzaku wasn't simply still and watching. The massive bird of flame capitalized on Nanami's assault, sending out a wave of white fire that swept across everything, setting the very ground ablaze on little white flames that licked at absolutely everything, tangible or intangible. It didn't harm anyone but the Titan, but the this sort of attack was only useful now, when it was hurt and could try spreading itself over a large area. Now, limited to just that titanic form, the bird and spirits had a target. And despite how busy it was focusing on what it was doing, it still deigned Raiju with a haughty answer. "Of course! They are bound much more closely than they perhaps realize, but that much is obvious. After all, that's my little hatchling host there, and he's a strong one. His power comes sometimes from care, and it is quite a miracle that he is awake. She brought him back, that girl... Looks like I'll have to endure his gloating for a little while." So grumbling good-naturedly, the imperial phoenix landed next to Raiju, folding its wings. "What are you doing here? Last I checked, you were roaming the lands, untamed and uncaring. Why show now?" --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ras and Lily The boy let out a sigh of relief the moment the girl unbound his ability to speak. "Whew. Much better. At least I can talk to a visage of an angel without feeling gagged and bound. Seriously, Lily, kinky much? I never would have expected something like this from an angel." He tried to move his body as much as he could, but only succeeded in making a few very basic motions, still within the binds. "I... Am pretty sure I am back now. And I don't feel as nasty anymore, which is actually kind of strange. It was always there, you know? Natural. Black Blood, that is. But apparently, neither of us liked what it was doing, so... Well, I asked for a bit of help, you did the exact thing I wanted you to do and put me in a trap like this, the two actions reacted properly, and now I'm free of its control. I think." Inside, he felt... Fresh. Never had he felt as unburdened and free as now. It was liberating, not having any sort of influence hanging over his head in the form of Black Blood, but even his body was responding differently. His power, previously so dark and viscous and malicious at its core, was now much more wild and untamed, so much more potent that reaching for it actually made him pause. But the most important thing? He was thinking clearly. And thinking much clearer than he had ever before. "So, uhh... Despite how interesting it might be to find out how good you are at the most ancient and formal eastern art of restraint, and the many very... Interesting applications that might have off the battlefield, could you maybe let me go? I'd rather stand and talk to you face to face instead of looking upwards." --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Galv VS The Dolls One would think that the dolls would have had the upper hand in a fight of attrition. They were numerous. They came from the black fog. They were exceptionally powerful, linked to the madness, and Asura was influencing it all like a grand puppeteer with thousands of strings at his disposal. But somehow, despite everything that they tried, Kubo and Endsville were outlasting the fog. The enormous billowing cloud was thinning, primarily due to the efforts of Galv's wide-range attacks, and with the replenishing source in the form of an infected Ras gone, the mist was thinning out everywhere. And that's when the little girl-dolls realized the extent of trouble they were in, especially with the electrical blasts caught two more of them, leaving Galv with only a single one, a single doll in the vicinity. And that doll was furious and... Frightened. Frightened beyond belief. How? How could it have come to this? How could just one boy do so much damage? How could that stupid girl over there purge the stupid kid of the influence? How could the mist be going away? Why couldn't she just KILL the other guy? This wasn't supposed to happen like this! Endsville was supposed to become a city of wraiths, a production factory for Asmer's endless army! Things were supposed to go smoothly! How... Could this happen... She couldn't comprehend it. And Galv stood before her, bathed in lightning, bathed in power that struck down her kind. And before him was the man who just simply refused to move, refused to die, refused to be TOUCHED, never mind infected. She had nothing left except her own insane strength, and that proved useless for she couldn't get near the boy. And they were glaring, they was furious too, a righteous fury that frightened the doll, which took a step back. Then another. Then another. "You... You... YOU! YOU! THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE! YOU CAN'T DO THIS! YOU CAN'T! YOU JUST CAN'T!!!" -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kubo Academy World of Agony Asmer stayed as silent as the night. But that certainly didn't mean that he was inactive. With the world bending to his will, he now decided to take the battle to the forefront. No special tricks, for he had enough built up to win any battle. No special maneuvers, those weren't needed to finish this. Just pure brute strength, speed, control of the world around them, and those damned distant attacks that could come from any angle at any time. Cess's banter seemed to do next to nothing, though one could never be sure with the fact of that monster mostly covered in bandages, chains and scars. Asmer launched into assault, and didn't pause his attacks. Strike after strike, vicious and unstopping, he attempted to wear and break his opponent and that damn sword. Cess had experience, he had power, he had Sacred Energy, a blade that matched his abilities, and in the end had magnificent instincts and reflexes. But Asmer wasn't going to back down, for he still held some strong suits amongst the cards that have been dealt. The world was his, the setup was his, and his abilities suited him uniquely in taking opponents off their guard. Every time he slashed at Cess, he would watch the block and make a second cut with his other hand in spots that opened in Cess's defense, forcing the boy to dodge, to move, to survive on sheer instincts. And that wore him down more than normal, trying to watch every angle while Asmer didn't have to do so. Slowly, like the Black Mist outside, this was turning into a war of attrition... But in a war of attrition, even Asmer didn't realize how much of a disadvantage he was at... For... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kubo Grounds His partner was all business, and that suited Hiko just fine. With so much tension in the air, so much dark energy around them, he felt like choking, like gagging. But he could not afford to stop and think. He sensed a battle happening somewhere nearby where blood and pain were all that was there, but he cut his senses off right there. He couldn't falter. Not here and now. With a short nod, he fell into step with Walter and quickly made his way back into the academy building, but to his surprise, there wasn't as much damage as he feared. He could feel fighting, the reflections in ki striking upon his spirit like a jackhammer, but there was not a lot of death and anguish here. It was mostly... Defiance. Kubo was holding. Kubo was MORE than holding, it was WINNING. The students and faculty were pushing the monsters back and destroying them. But he sensed something... Something below the academy, linked to all of this... "... Is there anything underneath us? A cellar, catacombs, old holding cells perhaps? I sense something in that direction, something... Strong, but faltering." ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kubo Hallways And much to the creature's surprise, a wave of flame caught up with it, tore into it... And tore off a limb. Edda's and Sol's attack was strong, yes, but it wasn't desperately powerful. And yet, despite its resistance, the creature was struck with a debilitating blow, and the soldier hissed in fury and agony as its leg began to slowly regenerate... But too slowly. Much more slowly than at the very beginning of this battle. Something slowed it down. Made it weaker. These soldiers, where they started off as nightmarish furies that cut everything they met apart in moments, were slowing down, growing weaker with each passing moment. The soldier couldn't comprehend it, so it turned about to face its enemies, tried to leap forward and attack. But it was too far, too weakened, and even as its distant claw attack struck against the shield that still worked... If it lived, it would have realized that today was not a great day to be one of Asmer's soldiers. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Endsville Streets/Keyblade Graveyard That was the end for the things that chased Spork. What a trump this was, an entire world of Keyblades, a world of weapons that rained upon them like droplets of steel and edges. Cutting into the soldiers, shredding them apart in mere moments. They weathered the attack for a total of six seconds before the keyblades finally tore them apart. A testament to how strong they were that it did not end them instantly. But now, Spork had free reign, free space to run the entirety of the short distance to Kubo. After all, Spork was a power user, and with as much energy as he put into moving through the streets, he made way across the city in startlingly short time. And now... Now, the gates of Kubo were in sight, closed and menacing against the backdrop of the black miasma hovering around it. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tree The soldiers were weakening now, their resistances failing, their power waning as the Black Blood mist thinned to but a morning fog. Instead of being unable to see just fifteen feet aheat, it was now possible to see the rest of the city of Endsville from here. And it continued to dissipate. And as it dissipated, the power that fueled these soldiers waned, leaving them with the very basics of what they had available. It was still impressive, still quite a threat... But not against a monster like Xehanort and any minion the man could conjure up. As Vanitas cut at the nearest soldier, it avoided the Blade, countered with a slice... And was promptly bisected by a follow-up cut attack from Xehanort's summoned pal. And from there, they began to fall, one after another in short order until but one remained. And that one decided to try and retreat, trying to sink into the ground like a pool of blood... Edited by HellAvatar, Sep 2 2014, 12:36 PM.

[Inside Lavan’s Mind] While Nanami might have had unrestricted access to Lavan’s mind, it did not even occur to her to go poking around in the dark corners. She had no interest in breaking into his secrets or personal thoughts; she did hope that if it was important Lavan would just tell her. Besides, she had a job to do. “I’m glad you’re awake, but now isn’t the time for rambling.” Nanami said in her usual cold tone. Her crimson eyes were locked intensely on what remained of the Black Blood Titan. This creature was still a very real threat to them, even with the stride they had made against it – and worse still she had no way of knowing what was happening outside Lavan’s head. How many others had been infected? How much damage had been done? Was there even still a Kubo to defend at this point? There were too many questions – too many doubts, and no way to get the answers aside from winning this battle and hoping for the best. And Nanami was not the hopeful sort. “If we all attack at once, we should be able to finish it off!” Nanami called to the spirits and to Lavan. She began to chant under her breath, gathering all of her strength for one final, ultimate attack. Gathering up all of her mental strength and all of the power lent to her by Lavan’s mind, she intended to unleash it all at once. And so she did; trusting that the three spirit companions would do the same. She gathered all of the power at once and sent it forth at the Titan in a storm of swirling energy, flames and water blazing at once, combining to form something new and different than anything ever before used by either of the Shinigami. [Unknown Location] “I see… so it’s going to be that way, is it?” Haruka pondered, rubbing her chin. By now Musashi was knocking on the invisible wall, pounding his fists against it – but no sound came through to the side the girls stood on. “… Okay then, Shiori. If you want to do things the haaaaaaard way, I’m okay with that… but I promise that YOU will regret it.” Haruka tossed aside the paintball gun, letting it tumble down the rocks and into the lava. She grabbed something from under her jacket – an old, well-worn scroll – and she held it up and read it in a strange and ancient language. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you!” And with that, Haruka suddenly disappeared… as did the invisible wall. There was nothing else standing between Shiori and Musashi, and in an instant Musashi came bounding through across the rocks towards Shiori. “Okay, just what the hell is going on!?” Musashi demanded to know as he drew his sword and pointed it at Shiori. “Where’s Shiori? Just what the hell is your game!?” |

I can't see what you're imagining
|
Kubo Park -Inside Lavan's Mind- “You and the others decided to go to the Gates, and try and keep that Overlord fellow in check... I decided to find a host myself, in a different way. I've been passed down a family line, watching the world. And my current host... Young. Inexperienced. But he has tremendous power, a lot of potential. And strong bonds with others,” Raiju answered, focusing as he helped blast the Titan as well. “In truth we just happened to be near, and I sensed your and ol' lizard breath's powers. I figured you could use a little help. Though I am glad it seems this abomination is almost gone... I should not be long from my host.” -Ras and Lily- Lily blushed red at Ras's words, not even having considered that, nodding to remove his bonds, then paused. “Don't trust anyone Lily... Not unless you know for absolute certainty. Others... can be dangerous,” old advice from her father, Gallic. Could she trust Ras now? Was this a trick still? Lily frowned, then focused, the bonds around Ras disappearing. For now, she was going to trust him. At least, with this. -Galv vs The Doll- “They always say something is impossible right after it's done... Don't know why, clearly it's just been proven it isn't,” Samuel said, sighing as he looked at the doll, then over towards his son. Galv was still up, but he was starting to rock a little, worn out. Drawing on the amount of power that he had was starting to take a toll. He didn't have the experience or training yet, and he was running on sheer instinct and anger. “So I think it's time you surrendered,” Samuel added to the doll, “Or you will be destroyed.” Kubo Academy -World of Agony- Cess dodged and blocked the blows, knowing that sooner or later, Asmer would be able to land a hit on him... and after one hit was landed, more would be sure to follow in rapid succession. But he was determined to hold out, to see this through... if he could hold on long enough, he knew help would arrive. And that's what kept him going, kept him moving and blocking and dodging, jinxing back and forth as he changed how he moved and dodged, trying to dredge up memories of alternate lives, those that had been fighters, different ways to fight... -Kubo Grounds- The gates swung open, Spork having opened them with his Keyblade, moving in quickly as he looked around the grounds. He closed his eyes, focusing outwards, then turned, heading for the trapped Shinigami-Sama, Keyblade at the ready. Time to unlock the big guns. “...I know there are some old, unused classrooms beneath the school, and possibly a larger cellar,” Walter answered, “I have never been down there myself, so I couldn't say for certain.” Walter wasn't one for much exploring or the like. -Kubo Hallways- Edda/Sol blocked the attack with their sword, it's blade burning hot but still sharp and hard as it did so, the student and spirit taking a step back as they focused. “You're not getting away!” Edda/Sol yelled, thrusting the sword forward and sending one more blast of fire at the creature! Tree As the last one tried to retreat, Vanitas merely moved forward, bringing his Keyblade down to stab into the pool that was forming, intending to destroy it! |

Unknown Location Shiori blinked in surprise over Musashi's reaction once he got free from behind the invisible wall he had been stuck behind. She was slow to actually say anything, however. She didn't feel any different, nor did she appear any different from what she could see of herself in her peripheral vision (she didn't dare to quickly look at herself closer, with a sword pointed at her neck). But Musashi seemed to be seeing herself as someone else... Most likely Haruka, but Shiori didn't feel completely safe to make that assumption, because it was Haruka who was in control. Trying to predict her would never be smart. But whatever the case, Musashi did not see her as Shiori right now. It also could happen that someone else might appear, that Musashi would see as Shiori. ...or maybe this wasn't Musashi, though if that was the case, they certainly knew how to copy Musashi very well. "...Just who do you think I am, Musashi?" she finally spoke. Shiori knew well enough that if she just came out and said that she was Shiori as the first response to him, especially if she appeared as Haruka to Musashi, he wouldn't believe her. So she wanted to at least figure out what he saw her as. Plus, deep down, Shiori also wanted to catch a glimpse of what Musashi might have thought of herself, in the position of him thinking she was missing, if just for a moment. ...though she also felt a little ashamed for thinking like that. |

[Unknown Location] "...Just who do you think I am, Musashi?" Musashi paused for a moment, his eyes narrowing dangerously as he watched the woman he thought was Haruka. His thumb twitched a bit on the hilt on the blade, but he did not let it lower – he kept it pointed close to Shiori’s throat. “I don’t know what stupid game you’re playing this time, but it has to end NOW! Where the hell is this place anyway? And more importantly what did you do with Shiori!? She was here! I saw her!” Musashi was practically shaking at this point. “Why do you always have to pull stuff like this?!” |

Unknown Location Musashi may not have directly answered Shiori's question, but his response was enough for her to gather that he likely was seeing herself as Haruka. That at least was a positive, in that she didn't look like someone completely unknown to both of them, which would throw lots of variables into things... Shiori slowly reached up towards the sword pointed at her, grabbing a hold of it between her finger and thumb. "...I'm stuck in her game, too. ...Just who do you think I am, Musashi?" she asked again, not looking up towards the boy. |

Unknown Location "...she already is inside your head, " Shiori responded quietly, before slowly standing up. She then let go of Musashi's sword, as she drew out her sword again. Though now it appeared as a cutlass, something which surprised Shiori. When she used her crystal to transform into a sword, it DID occasionally transform into unexpected swords, but they still usually were things she could picture using. A cutlass was not exactly something she ever thought about using before. After pointing it at Musashi for a few moments, though, Shiori then spoke again, still refusing to look up towards Musashi's eyes. "...if it will help you, though..." Shiori then swung the cutlass towards Musashi. Words with this face and voice were not going to get through to Musashi at this point. She just had to hope that Musashi could recognize her sword skills as Shiori's... While she was wielding a pirate's sword. Haruka was partially right, though, in that what was happening now, she wouldn't like. Just one split second of seeing Musashi's angry eyes pointed at herself... She didn't want to see that anymore.
