[Kubo Courtyard] Haruka just laughed when Ryan slinked his arm around her shoulders. She batted her eyelashes at him too, and for a moment it looked almost like she was going along with his flirting. “Oh me, I didn’t get kicked out. I just enjoy abusing my dad’s position to get away with doing whatever I want.” Haruka said shamelessly. “Like, for example, if I wanted to… ohhh… I dunno… smash in someone’s shins?” She suddenly and violently turned and kicked Ryan in the shin as hard as she could. “I’d just do it! Like that! And next time you touch me I’ll aim for your crotch!” […] Connor sighed. Sarai looked so happy, and then she hugged him tightly. He was not looking forward to this, but he had to do it for Sarai. He hugged her back and wondered just what everyone would end up saying about this. [Endsville Apartment] Sama simply shrugged his shoulders and hopped up next to her. “Eh, I’m not that worried about it. My dad can work out all that timey-wimey stuff.” Sama dismissed the very legitimate concerns of messing with the timeline. “It’ll be fine, Crystal! Don’t worry.” No. You should totally worry. |

Kubo Cafeteria "Great!!-" Damion brightened up a little more, before being interrupted by Aboy kissing him, causing him to blush. Kubo Arena "I dunno, I think it clashes with your outfit..." Rumi responded to Cess, before waving him over. Once he got there, though, she gave him a thumbs up. "Nice work on the battle!" Musashi's Room "Well... I didn't mean not to use them..." Shiori spoke softly, looking away from Musashi. "I just don't think we should use them against each other..." “So, Shiori, what’s your plans for today?” "I don't know... Do you just want to hang out this afternoon or something, Musashi?" she then asked, in response to Musashi's own question. |

[Musashi’s Room] “Oooooooooooooooh!” Musashi said as his eyes widened and he realized what Shiori had really meant. The spiky haired boy rubbed the back of his neck, and then gave a large grin. “Well that’s even better, because to be honest I was hoping to get to use ‘em. They should be real good swords! But yeah… we won’t use them on each other.” "I don't know... Do you just want to hang out this afternoon or something, Musashi?" “Well, I did have an idea… I’m not sure if it will totally work since I didn’t really check, but I don’t anticipate it being a problem.” Musashi seemed to be talking to himself. “Anyway! Shiori, you have some kind of really fancy dress, right? I have an idea for a little later, but first I need to make a couple of arrangements. I want it to be a surprise, so don’t even ask me what I have in mind, but I promise it’s nothing bad!” [Shinigami’s Office] Nanami soon arrived at the Headmaster’s office, leaning against the door. “Well, it’s been ten minutes. I’m opening the portal. If Lavan doesn’t get here before it closes then he can just kick himself for missing it.” Nanami shrugged her shoulders. She stepped forward towards a mirror in the side of Shinigami’s office. It was a gateway to the human world, which could access any location in the human world instantly. Nanami swiped her fingers across the mirror’s surface, creating ripples as if it were a pool of water. A door handle appeared at the mirror, and Nanami gripped it and twisted it, pushing forward. It swung open into the mirror as if it were a door. “Come on, Lavan…” Nanami muttered. |

[Shinigami's Office] And just as Nanami gripped the handle and opened the gateway, a red blur dropped right next to her, Lavan grinning like a loony. "Aaaand, the pit stop took a little longer than I expected. For the record: Don't EVER argue with a moving mannequin dressed in a bear suit." Normally, it wouldn't take Lavan to take THAT long to get to his own room then the office, since the round trip at his breakneck running speeds usually took only about three minutes, no more. However, Lavan decided to make a stop by another place, making sure his next prank was set to activate while he was away. Though how he avoided entering through the door was a mystery... "I'm here, no need to nag. Now come on, Alice's world behind the mirror awaits! And now, for something completely and unrelatedly retarded - SHTOOOOOOOOOP!" And Lavan put his hands together in a prayer-like position, and side-dove into the mirror like into a pool of water, kicking out his legs behind him and flailing them randomly as he went... ------------------------------------------------- [Kubo Halls] Ras put his free hand up in a placating gesture. "No worries, Lily, I won't be avoiding you anymore. Well, unless I REALLY have no other choice. I... Missed you. A lot. I'm surprised I missed you THAT much during my little busy streak, but there you have it." He looked out a nearby window as they passed one. "Asura, huh... I wonder how long this peace in Kubo is going to last..." Suddenly he shrugged, and turned to look at Lily, smirking with a bit of mischief hidden in that glint in his eye. "Say, want to see a new trick?" Edited by HellAvatar, Jul 5 2013, 10:08 PM.

[Shinigami's Office] Nanami groaned at Lavan's usual antics as he arrived. She would have to threaten him in an especially mean way once she caught up with him to remind him that this was a stealth mission, and she expected everyone to behave properly. Lavan might have liked to use loud noises and flashy colors to unsettle and distract his enemies, but Nanami preferred to simply move quickly and quietly in the dark and kill the bad things before they ever saw her. To that end, she tapped her fingers on her shirt and instantly the color changed from the usual sunny yellow into black, and she followed after Lavan through the mirror and into... [Dark Forest] The forest was thick, the trees were tall, and darkness was in abundance. There was constant scratching, clicking, hooting, barking and other strange noises coming from every direction of the forest as animals ran, scuttled and flew through the trees and across the ground. It was an area teeming with life, but none of it was human. At least, none of it should have been human. However, the moment Nanami arrived in a small clearing just south of the thick forest, she immediately felt the unmistakable aura of several humans to the north. All shinigami were trained to sense humans, since interacting with humans (either by protecting them from evil spirits, or sending their souls to the afterlife) was such a large part of the job. “Damn it...” Nanami immediately whispered. “I can sense at least twenty humans nearby. This mission is off to a great start, we've been here for five seconds and already the intel we had is outdated.” Even worse was that humans were ALL that Nanami sensed. There was no massive spike of spiritual energy – and they were in the right location. |

[Dark Forest] However, when Nanami came out the other side of the gate into the woods... Lavan wasn't there. Just a second ago, he was right in her field of vision, jumped through the gate, and she followed just a few seconds after, complaining about his idiocy in an internal monologue... And that was apparently enough for the redhead to pull a disappearing act worthy of any stage magician. This wasn't part of his previous repertoire. In fact, Lavan was still there, and he COULD be noticed with thorough inspection, but no one paid attention to a little heat haze in the middle of the woods on a sunny and warm day. In fact, this was one of the newest tricks he had been learning from Suzaku made manifest. Territory Control. Such a simple name for a trick that Lavan had been refining since the day that he found out that Suzaku existed in his soul. It was the culmination of Suzaku's training, the result of completely re-starting his fire manipulation abilities from scratch to include a particular exercise and twist. The deep, thorough study of his own power turned to effects that would usually seem impossible. Like the one at the moment, where the slightest haze of heat could be used to hide an entire body if it was attuned to the heat... In addition to this, Lavan could sense the humans as well. He sensed them just a few moments after he came out of the gate, so he figured it was a smart idea to pull a vanishing act and be stealthy at the moment. While Nanami certainly sensed them faster, Lavan had a particularly interesting advantage with his own ability... |

[Dark Forest] Nanami had no idea where Lavan was, but she was not really looking for him either. Her first focus has been on the human auras that she sensed. It was really disheartening to have the intel proven wrong just seconds after arriving. Nanami had expected some surprises, since all missions have them, but this was a pretty quick way of things going awry. When she did looked around for the others, and she noticed that Lavan was apparently not there, it was irritating. She knew that he HAD to be nearby since he had gone through the portal just before her, and the portal had already been configured by Shinigami to take them here. While she knew Lavan loved to show off, she also knew that he wouldn't be stupid enough to send himself somewhere else in the human world and miss the mission. “I'll just assume you can hear me. Whatever you're doing, keep it up. I want us to all remain stealthy until we figure out what happened here and if its still happening.” Nanami said quietly, though she was sure that Lavan would pick up on it. “We'll head to the North West. Stay on the edge of the forest. There should be a mine in the mountains up ahead, and a mining office nearby. That mine is where the spiritual energy was reported from, so that's where we'll start looking.” |

-Hawkins' House- “Alright, I'll set up a pot,” Levina said, disappearing into the kitchen. Galv smiled, leading Melanie into the living room. After a minute Levina returned, smiling. “Pots on, it'll be a little bit,” Levina said, “So what brings you two here?” “We thought it would be good to visit,” Galv answered. “Well I'm glad you did,” Levina smiled, “Melanie, I'm glad you decided to visit again. I enjoyed you coming over a couple weeks ago.” -Kubo Cafeteria- Aboy pulled back after a couple moments, blushing some. “I'm still not to use to that... But I do like it,” Aboy said, “Kissing you, that is...” She smiled at him, “So when would you like to go over? We can probably go over a little later today if you'd like.” -Kubo Arena- “Hmmmm, maybe if I put on a dapper outfit with a top hat and cane?” Cess mentioned to Rumi, “But thanks, glad you enjoyed the show! I'll have to try again in a couple centuries, I think...” -Kubo Halls- Lily smiled as Ras said he missed her, then paused when Ras said he had a new trick...And that smile. She blushed, then nodded, “Y-yes...I would.” |

[Dark Forest] Thankfully, Lavan heard everything Nanami issued as orders. Having understood exactly where they were to be going and where they were to appear, Lavan decided to take things into his own hands... And proved himself yet again as the most unpredictable of people by going straight north instead of northwest, losing sight of Nanami and the gate rather quickly. The ability he was using to hide in the heat haze concealed his motions, and he moved as quietly as a mouse, running between trees and often using the trees themselves as a path to travel across, since this area was so densely populated by trees. It was just a matter of minimal effort to jump from branch to branch, making way in a northward direction. Then, having dashed far enough away, enough to consider himself about half a mile away from Nanami, Avril and Solei, Lavan took to the skies, his burning wings adding to the heat haze effect, effectively making him nigh-invisible. It was much harder to see a blue in the sky, than it was to see a blurred shape in a place where lots of details could provide the difference. And then, Lavan went north-west as he should have, searching out the area from above, lazily patrolling the skies. At least this time, he didn't get lost... Or go south... ---------------------------- [Kubo Halls] Ras chuckled gleefully. "Guess you'll see it when I show you... Later. For now, let's change the location, shall we?" The two covered quite a good bit of distance as they walked, engrossed in their conversation, and it took them just a few minutes to cross from the side entrance of Kubo into the park. The day was bright, and luckily enough, Shinigami-Sama's barrier kept temperatures relatively even, so some of the more exotic plants and flowers lived alongside the more hardy ones that could survive even the harshest of weathers. It was here that Ras... Vanished off of Lily's arm like a breeze on the wind. There was no precursor, no portal, not even a flux of energy. It was as if he simply vanished... And then called from above her, sitting on a thick branch in a tree. "Over here! Come on up, the wind is nicer here!" |

[Dark Forest] From his vantage point in the skies above, Lavan would be able to see a lot. The forest was a darkened mystery, the canopy of treetops blotting out any chance of seeing what was beneath them. However, he would get a good view of the mine. There was an enormous entrance in the side of the mountain, with a railroad leading inside. Next to the entrance was a small shack, and several vehicles parked, including heavy construction vehicles. There was a dump truck filled with coal in the back. … and there were people. There were at least twenty human beings, men and women, who were slowly shuffling into the mines. They seemed normal enough, but there was a light spiritual presence emitting from each and every one of them as walked towards the mine. |

[Dark Forest, above the Mine] Flight was always a much quicker way of transportation than walking or even running. No matter how much Nanami would laud the brilliance of her insanely fast running speeds, fire-propelled flight was quite a bit faster due to the lack of muscle limitation. And to Lavan, whose wings were MADE of fire, it was like having built-in rocket boosters. Nothing could contend with his speed in the skies... Unless is was Byakko. Stupid windy tiger and its stupid speed tricks... However, that wasn't the point. Lavan couldn't do much in the way of sensing spiritual beings, but he could sense something different. Heat. And he knew that since Nanami said there shouldn't be anyone here, the purpose of those people was strange in the first place. And they had vehicles and construction materials. Well... Time to fix that particular problem. Lavan didn't need to get close to them to make things really, really bad. In fact, he didn't even have to have it noticeable. It was a warm day, and it was pretty darn hot at the mine already, so doing a little bit of riding heat wasn't going to draw too much attention, especially if the energy manipulation was done from well, WELL above. So Lavan ascended to a height of almost a mile off the ground, hiding his presence as much as he could and keeping his heat blur going as he spun around, finding the optimal angle that the sun was shining in and checking to make sure that his shadow wasn't noticed... Then, he clapped his hands, and the heat haze moved off of him and expanded as he focused, pouring energy into a power construct, making sure nothing really leaked out. From this distance, he would look like a bird anyways, or even smaller, but he hoped he judged the angle correctly. He didn't, and seeing that his construct wasn't covering things properly, moved around a bit until he could sense, far below, that he hit the right area. And indeed, he was sensing that far downward. Suzaku's Presence and Territory training was slowly turning Lavan himself into a long-distance sensor if things were set up correctly. With such an enormous pool of pure power at their disposal, it was a waste not to use it for something equally impressive. And that something was Territory Control. Once he had "aimed" correctly though, Lavan completed the energy construct, which was nothing more than a giant, heat-amplifying "glass" made of his own power. And as he activated it, the heat produced by the rays of the sun started to rise in heat slowly and surely. Far below, on the ground, paint began to peel off of the machinery that the humans brought. About five minutes later, hissing sounds erupted as the rubber that the vehicle wheels were made of melted and popped. The heat rose to unbearable levels within a small, confined area, drying plants, and trying to make the machinery generally unusable. Then, without further ado, Lavan dispelled the "magnifying glass effect", veiled himself in the heat haze again, shifted himself into the heat so he'd yet again become nigh invisible, and flew around the complex to where Nanami, Avril ans Solei would be arriving from, giggling to himself like a frat boy after a successful prank against some hapless freshman. |

[Dark Forest] Nanami methodically made her way to a small hill that overlooked the mine. It was right next to the forest, and allowed for a great, semi-hidden vantage point of the mine and the humans around it. As she arrived, she noticed the melted tired and an unusually potent heat and knew that it was likely Lavan’s doing. By now, the humans had all vanished into the mine but Nanami could still sense them nearby… and she could sense a faint spiritual power mixed with their auras. Yet she did not sense any additional spiritual energy in the mine, the forest or anything else that was around. It really bothered her. Something was definitely going on. None of this matched the mission briefing, and for a moment she wondered if maybe this was some test from Shinigami – but she dismissed the idea. He had assured her that this was a true mission, and a potentially important one. “Avril. Solei. We need to investigate. I want to check everything we can outside of the mine. I doubt we’ll find much, but we’re leaving no stone unturned.” |

Dark Forest Avril and Solei silently followed Nanami through the forest, as they headed towards the mine. They too could sense the humans, and how they seemed to all have a bit more of a spiritual power than they should have. They also saw the effects of what Lavan had done, causing Avril to turn to Solei, whispering. "...if these humans turn out to be good and innocent from what's happening here, we should make Lavan be the one who helps them back out of the forest..." But then Nanami called the two of them to investigate, to which both girls nodded. Solei departed in one direction, while Avril went another. Avril, however, stopped after a few feet, before closing her eyes, and holding a hand out in front of her. She focused on her telekinetic powers, extending out and around her, essentially 'feeling' the territory around her with those powers, based on the response to the very weak telekinetic field she sent out, sent back to her. In essence, it was much like a radar or sonar, just with her own powers. Kubo Cafeteria Damion found it a little difficult to speak for a few moments, after Aboy broke her kiss, before his senses returned to normal. "Y-y-yeah. I'm not really used to it either..." he eventually responded, "...but I like it too." He then smiled in response to Aboy's own smile. "I'm okay with whenever you want to go over there! Though maybe we can also do some other stuff before we go? ...though I don't know what specifically... but it should be something fun!" |

That’s worth losing a few vehicles, as long as Lavan behaves for the rest of the time.” Nanami replied. Near the opening of the mine was a small trailer, used as an office for the mining company. When Avril began to search the area with her telekinetic abilities, she might have sensed something in the trailer. There was someone inside. It would feel just like an ordinary human, from spiritual senses, but from the sonar/radar, Avril might recognize it as being a completely different shape from an ordinary person. It seemed to be a creature… |

-Endsville Park- “Oh, you can teleport now?” Lily asked. She focused, her wings appearing as she flew upwards after Ras, taking a seat next to him on the branch, “Is that what you meant to show me?” She smiled a little, keeping herself steady on the branch as she felt the breeze on her face, “The breeze is nicer up here...” -Kubo Cafeteria- "I'm okay with whenever you want to go over there!
