I can't see what you're imagining
|
-Ankh-Morpork- Underground “Who built this? Ankh-Morporkians. The city sinks some, so people just build on top of old structures,” Spork explained, “And don't worry...You're the Avatar though, aren't you? Heard about you.” He tone of voice was neither condensing or awed. Just rather matter of fact. “Come on, I have a place not to far from here. There's some other Benders too. Some who've lived here for generations, some refugees,” Spork told them, “Don't worry, we help look after everyone.” Patrician's Palace “A treaty? Did I ever say anything about a treaty?” Veterni frowned, “I daresay, you must be hearing me wrong, Princess Garnet.” If he had been bluffing earlier, he now knew for certain. “I suppose it makes sense though. Princess Garnet isn't here right now. She's hiding somewhere, while I'm just hear doing paperwork,” Veterni said, motioning to said paperwork that laid untouch for several minutes now. He paused, then motioned with his hand. One of the men detached himself from the shadows, and stepped forward. Veterni handed him a piece of paper, and then man disappeared into the darkness again. “No, I have this report,” Veterni said, holding up another piece of paper, “Stating that a woman fitting Princess Garnet's description was seen leaving the city in a foolishly unguarded wagon by the west gate. Seems Captain Carrot and Sergeant Angua gave chase into the night, as well. Captain Carrot, of course, being the one who was in that tussle in the streets before. Much to early for preliminary reports to tell us that they're heading to Treno.” He paused, and stared directly at Garnet now. “You have much to learn, miss. You've given me very valuable information,” Veterni sighed, “This meeting didn't happen...But it would be wise to remember it anyways.” As several guards appeared to usher them out, Veterni did call out to them one last time. “Remember, the west gate. I'm sure someone can direct you to it.” -Central: Ansem's House- “I suppose it depends what you're looking for,” Ansem told Cloud, “Tell me, and I'll see what I can do.” As Allen entered the kitchen, where some stew had been put over a fire, Ansem continued to discuss with Cloud. Ienzo stood by it, making sure it didn't burn. “Ahhh...good. And are you sure you don't also wish to have some stew? There is plenty, and I hate to see good food wasted,” Ansem asked. Galv paused, and glanced back to Melanie. “Maybe we should wait until later to do...that...” Galv said, glancing to the bowl and the knife, “You know...with these people here.” He paused, sighing and glancing outside. It was dark, but lights were turning on. “...Maybe we could go for a walk? Clear our heads,” Galv suggested. |

Ankh-Morpork Didymus and Steiner both fingered the hilts of their blades when Veterni hinted at capturing Garnet, clearly not pleased with how this conversation was going. However, both were rather pleased and/or impressed by Garnet's handling of the situation. She spoke like a true stateswoman, even if she was far outclassed by Veterni. Eventually, Veterni ushered them out and told them to leave by the west gate. Didymus would have spoken up to Veterni, but the conversation was over before he really had a chance to. When they were outside, Didymus spoke. "Why is it so important we leave via the west gate? Or was that just a "subtle" way of telling us NOT to leave by the west gate?" He shook his head. His charge ran off, and now they were being used by some politician? "Either way, I don't know when the next train to Treno leaves-I'd think in the morning, but I'm not quite sure. If we head west, though, it would be into Galdwin...we could stop by one of the border forts..." "...and Dagger...we need to talk." Steiner raised an eyebrow. "...with all due respect..." Didymus said. "...what's wrong with you? I'm sorry, but...you can't just slip out like that! If I hadn't been guided out there...you may well be gone! Taken by that monster! As it is, it seems He didn't want you to be taken away by it...but still! It was...why? Is our company so very stifling that you see fit to sneak out and put yourself in such danger? I..." He sighed, and hung his head, then slowly looked at her. "I'm sorry, I REALLY don't want to be like this with you. But still...we...I REALLY don't want to lose you..." Suddenly, he looked a bit sheepish. That last part had kind of...well, just slipped out. Even Steiner raised an eyebrow. "...I, that is, well, yeah. I REALLY don't. And for that matter, neither does Steiner or, well Galdwin or Alexandria! PLEASE, Dagger...remember how much rides on you. PLEASE. I..." He sighed again. "If you fall into the hands of the conspiracy which now drives against us...then...thousands, millions, even, more than need be may well die...please, Dagger..." He was clearly very stressed, even saddened, to be speaking like this, and to be reflecting on these subjects. Steiner was quiet for a bit. He was not sure if he should critisize the Paladin for speaking in such a manner to Garnet, or commend him for saying something that needed to be said. "...Princess, he is right..." he said at long last. "...too much depends on you for you to risk yourself in such a manner. If you fail, we will all carry the shame. As the brother said earlier...your burdens are our burdens. Every life that depends on you also, as your bodyguards, depends on us...if we fail to protect you, then their blood is on our hands...please, do not let us come to such shame..." |

Central: Ansem's House Allen, having wandered into the kitchen, immediately brightened when the smell reached his nose. It smelled absolutely HEAVENLY here! He gave a sheepish grin at the other kid, rubbing his stomach. "This smells absolutely heavenly. I hate to impose, but do you know when it will be done? I have been hungry since early this morning, and my stomach seems to have scared the two that were in the guest room..." His eye again leaps into activation, though it was weak. Again, Allen was subjected to viewing the inky black energy that his eye instinctively sought, like a mind of its own. Looking at it for a few moments, Allen gave another sigh as he noticed no malice yet again. These people... Their wills were absolutely incredible to be able to keep themselves untainted like this. "I'm Allen Walker, exorcist of the Dark Order. Pleasure to meet you. Who might you be?" |

Unseen University Shimera gave Cess a bright smile. "You're absolutely welcome. I'm always glad to help a friend," she told him, letting him stand on the ground. She then looked at the University. "So, we heading in?" she asked. |

[Ankh-Morpork] Underground Sama was not surprised Spork knew who he was… he HAD just used several types of bending during the battle, and only the Avatar could do that. No, the news that made him have a mini-panic was finding out some of the Benders who lived where Spork was taking them were refugees. “… Ah, yeah… let’s get going.” Sama said, clearly uncomfortable. He coughed, and then spoke up. “Err… could you keep my identity to yourself? I… I’d rather no one know who I am.” He had met Bending refugees many times before. Sometimes they recognized him. On a few occasions, they had not blamed him, and it was more of a sad experience than a scary one… but usually they hated him and blamed him for letting the Tribes fall to Amestries. Outside Patrician’s Place "...with all due respect..." Didymus said. I..." Garnet frowned, and fell quiet. She put her hands together, and looked down at her boots. She had always acted this way when she was scolded, ever since she was a small child. In those days, a kindly and beautiful Queen Brahne would scold her, but always end it with a big huge and a happy smile. Garnet wondered how long it had been since she last saw her mother’s loving smile? She could not remember. “… My apologies, to you both. What I did was selfish, and I was not thinking of the grander picture when I did it. I shall not let it happen again…” |

Ankh-Morpork “… My apologies, to you both. What I did was selfish, and I was not thinking of the grander picture when I did it. I shall not let it happen again…” Steiner raised an eyebrow at Didymus, as if expecting something of him. Didymus nodded, and actually smiled a bit at Garnet. "Good. Apology accepted; as long as you remember that, we need not dwell on this." Steiner nodded. "...and I apologize if I was too harsh, but...I believe that this needed to be addressed..." Didymus added, and stood quietly for a bit, before nodding. "Alright! Well, our next course of action...I would like to get some rest, but I don't know if that's afforded us. Dagger?" Steiner stood waiting himself, to hear Garnet's decision... |

I can't see what you're imagining

-Ankh-Morpork- Streets “I think we was giving us the wagon to use,” Kairi spoke up, as the group was on the streets, presumably away from the prying eyes and ears of Veterni. “I mean...if we are being looked for, wouldn't a train be a little...dangerous, to use?” “Ankh-Morpork isn't a closed place, despite what the walls say. If the Amestries military comes in, they'll most likely be let through,” Sora added, “I wouldn't want to get into a...well, another fight, on a train...Too many innocent people.” Outside Unseen University “Probably shouldn't,” Cess told Shimera, “Though, I could talk to their department head of Post-Mortem communications...” He paused, then shook his head, “I don't know. They don't usually let girls in either. Except they have a lot of cleaning maids and what not. Wizards...Unusual bunch.” He chuckled a little, obviously feeling much better, “Besides, they might sense your magical wish stuff and want to study you...” Watch House “You don't have to hide...I smelt you a while back,” Sergeant Angua said. In the darkness there was a pause, and a man wearing black stepped out. “The Patrician told me to give you this,” the man said, handing the werewolf a piece of paper, then disappeared into the shadows again. Angua sniffed the paper. Veterni's scent alright. She unfolded the paper, reading it, then sighed, placing it away. “Alright you two...Don't try anything, there are guards outside,” Angua told Sam and Kxs, then headed off. Orders were orders. There was silence for a few minutes, and then someone came from the darkness... “Hello...” the figure said, “Do you wish to be able to control your power? Do you wish to be free? I can help you...if you wish...” -Central: Ansem's House- Ienzo seemed to be studying Allen for a few moments. “Soon,” the boy simply said, “A couple minutes. There's some sea-salt ice cream if you want some too.” He pointed to a cooler, crafted by Ansem. “In there.” |

Ankh-Morpork Crystal could tell Sama was worried, but said nothing to point it out. Instead she tried to offer him a smile (though the caverns were rather dark) and placed a hand on his shoulder before looking forward. In all truth she was a bit worried as well. Not for herself but for her best friend. "It'll be fine" Central: Ansem's House- Melanie wasn't sure if she really wanted to put off what needed to be done, but for now she gave a little nod. Galv had a point, as she really didn't want people to ask questions about what she was up to. The young witch smiled "I guess a walk would be good for now...." |

Central: Anxem's House Allen gave a nod of thanks to the boy, inhaling the scent of food, and decided to pass some time by grabbing an ice cream. So he went to the fridge, got some out and began to enjoy ice cream... Lots, and lots and lots of ice cream... By the time the boy was done raiding the fridge, HALF of Ansem's entire ice cream supply was gone. Luckily, Allen's stomach stopped growling, so he wasn't any longer announcing his presence through uncomfortable growling sounds. He stepped back out of the kitchen, slowly eating another stick of ice cream as he walked, Tim still sitting in his hair and looking as if his place was right there in a nest of stark-white hair. "Aaaaah! Delicious! This ice cream is an absolute glory, Mr. DiZ!" He finished off the ice cream quickly, patted his stomach once and turned rather serious. "Nevertheless, I would still like to hear about any similar events to those that I have described before, paranormal events without reason or explanation. If you would be so kind as to at least point me in the right direction? I'm here on an investigation for the order, and I want to do this quickly so I can get out of your hair." |

[Ankh-Morpork] Streets Garnet thought about the wagon. It was possible that it was a trap, and that they would end up regretting taking it – but at the same time, Amestris would no doubt be on the train, and if they found her, she would end up dead or worse. “… Let us take the wagon, and let us not delay a moment longer than we need to.” She made up her mind. The sooner they were out of Ankh-Morpork, the better it would be. This town was very interesting, but they had attracted too much attention when the Waltz attacked… it was her fault… “… Excuse me, the Patrician asked me to accompany the all of you… you… YOU!” A young woman of slender build and dark hair appeared on the streets. She wore a tight-fitting body suit, a white cape and a funky white hat that was square. She also had a large sword at her waist. When she noticed the group, her eyes fell on Didymus, and she looked horrified. “I… I… Brother Didymus!” She gasped in shock, and then she flushed, and covered herself with the cape. “… What are you doing here!?” Underground "It'll be fine" Sama felt his best friend’s hand on his shoulder, and he smiled softly. He could see her a bit thanks to the illumination of Hammah’s fire. There was something comforting about having at least one friend who always struck by him, through it all. |

Ankh-Morpork “… Let us take the wagon, and let us not delay a moment longer than we need to.” Didymus and Steiner nodded. "Very well." "Yes, princess." “… Excuse me, the Patrician asked me to accompany the all of you… you… YOU!” Didymus turned, and raised an eyebrow. This young woman was rather...OH GOSH. “I… I… Brother Didymus!” She gasped in shock, and then she flushed, and covered herself with the cape. “… What are you doing here!?” "SISTER?" Didymus asked. "SISTER CHOLE? SISTER VALENS? I...I could ask the same of you...and what's HAPPENED to you? You're...are you...what's happened to you?" He wanted to get THAT out of the way before introducing her, or explaining what he's doing here. |

-Ankh-Morpork- “No, no, no. I do not want to be here!” a voice argued. A response was scuttling. “He said nothing would happen if I didn't go! That probably means I'd be hung by my ears in a pit and left there!” More scuttling accompanied him. A sigh, and a thin looking wizard (you could tell he was a wizard, by his pointed hat with the word 'wizzard' stitched on it. “...Ummm...hello...” the wizard said, “I'm Rincewind. I'm umm...suppose to help. I've been all around the world, so...hello...” He eyed their weapons, looking worried, as though he'd be stabbed. There was a chest that came up next to him, on several legs, then rested. Despite it had no eyes, it seemed to be glaring at them. A wagon was near them. It had four horses to pull them, and when they would enter, they'd find that the wagon was...enhanced. Inside, it was larger then it should be, with plenty of room for everyone to sit comfortably, along with luggage if they had it. Either a man with a blue box had something to do with it, or the wizards had gone over the wagon earlier. Veterni made sure things got done. -Central: Ansem's House- “It is my favorite ice cream,” Ansem chuckled, liking this boy more, “I am glad you enjoy it.” “Stew's reheated,” Ienzo spoke up, getting a bowl and handing it to Allen, with stew in it, of course. Ansem turned to Allen, “I have seen nothing here unusual that could be attributed to Innocence.” Galv smiled, nodding to Melanie, holding open the door for her, as they headed outside. Since a time skip would be happening something, probably nothing would happen...Galv would still enjoy it, though. |

Central: Ansem's House Allen gave a disappointed sigh at Ansem's response, looking somewhat gloomy. "Darn you, Komui... Sending me on a wild goose chase like this, knowing that there probably isn't an innocence fragment here. I wonder why you se-... Eh... Heheh..." As he took the bowl, Allen looked to be getting progressively paler until he turned to look at Ansem with a half-fearful eye, a small tic pulsing at the corner of his left eye, twitching ever so slightly. "Umm... You wouldn't know if a man passed through Central, would you? Dressed on order robes, but Black and Gold... Wears a wide-brimmed hat... Has red hair... A pair of angled eyeglasses... Looks like he's wearing a half-mask over his right eye..." He shakily sunk a hand into the pocket of his robes, producing a rough sketch (almost looked like a 4-year-old drew it), one that only generally depicted the man Allen was talking about. "Calls himself Cross... Cross Marian. You wouldn't know if he stopped by here, would you?" |

[Ankh-Morpork] Garnet raised her eyebrow, and her face flushed a bit. Didymus knew this woman? She looked to be around their age, and from the reaction, she was a Paladin. She wondered if they were friends… or something else. “It’s not what you think!” Chloe said instantly, still trying to cover herself. She had been dressing this way for months, and had finally managed to get used to it and put the embarrassment from her mind, and now she ran into another Paladin. “I’m on assignment! I’ve been living in Ankh-Morpork for seven months, and… well… this is part of my… cover.” She turned beet red, and then crossed her arms. “… Besides, you of all people should know I only have one judge, Brother.” She believed that too… but she was still embarrassed to be standing in front of a fellow Paladin while wearing a skin-tight body suit. She really hated this assignment, for many reasons… but complaining wasn’t going to change what she had to do. Then Rincewind appeared. She straighten up, and fell back “into character”, reluctantly uncovering herself. “Anyway, as I said, the Patrician wanted us to escort you on your journey. Let us board the wagon.” |

Didymus said. He smiled a bit. "Amen, Sister." He liked Chloe quite a bit, and had always enjoyed talking with her...but they were not the "something more" that Garnet was wondering about. Then, the wizard appeared. “Anyway, as I said, the Patrician wanted us to escort you on your journey. Let us board the wagon.” "...very well." Didymus said. But he could "feel" it...magic, on the wagon. He hesitated, and looked back towards Garnet. "Something wrong, Dagger? You look a bit...flustered." he said. |
