Alexandria: Library Zidane looked over to the newcomers and nodded. "Alright! We can always use some more help. Anyway, you two hear the plan, right? So just tag along with Steiner and I." The thief with the monkey-tail then looked to Tot. "I guess we part ways, here... don't worry, we'll save your princess. Leave everything to me." Tot nodded, and then he paused. "... Zidane, there is one more favor I must ask of you... there is a book in the Queen's room..." "The one Garnet wants, right?" Zidane knew where the Doctor was going with this. "I'd be happy to bring it to the Princess. I'll swipe it during our escape." Tot seemed uncomfortable asking Zidane to steal a tome from the Queen -- especially right next to Steiner -- but Zidane did not seem to mind. He headed over to Sora and Kairi. "Alright! Let's get this show started... I just have to send a quick letter to a friend." Zidane ran to the corner of the room where one more person was in the room; a small, furry creature that resembled a teddy bear, except it was alive, had small wings and a odd antenna on its head with a fluffy red ball at the end. It was a Moogle. "Hey Mogster, take this letter to Vivi, alright? And make it quick!" Zidane handed a hastily-scribbled note to the moogle, and it flew off. Central City: Tavern Sama gave a small frown at seeing Ansem so unhappy. The man was his mentor, and adopted father. He knew how hard Ansem had worked to try to prevent war, and yet it was happening anyway. "H-Hey now, relax, alright? We might not have stopped the war from starting... but we can make sure that it doesn't last very long!" When the Chaser's leader started to speak of a stranger in the land, Sama was intrigued. A young man who used firebending, but called it alchemy? "It might just be a case of him wanting people to think his bending is alchemy." Sama suggested. "I know I don't correct people in Amestris when they call me an Alchemist. The normal people don't know you need a circle for alchemy, so why confuse them any more?" Still... from the way Ansem explained it, it was like the stranger believed his bending was alchemy... which meant it could be something different altogether. "... Well, anyway, whatever he can do, he sounds like he'd make a good ally! I'll find him." Sama grinned. He turned to Crystal. "Whaddiya say, want to go looking for this guy?" [...] Ed was a little surprised to hear Nihlus was from Amestris! He had not known many mages from his own nation, but it was not unheard of. When Nihlus again spoke of the Stone, Ed leaned forward. "Yeah, I'm very interested in it. You know something..." |

Paladin Enclave Didymus smiled gently. "Actually, lady, considering what...is upon you, even if you were to go in search of magic...we'd probably still protect you. I mean, as heir to the Alexandros line, and one who's not overly hostile to Galdwin...both Galdwin and Alexandria have a considerable interest in your welfare. But unless there are any other details you wish to go over, come, let us not dwell on stressful subjects. Like I have said, I have many things I could tell you of a variety of subjects, and I'm confident you've got much you can tell me, if you wish, as well." He was trying, however poorly, to get Garnet's mind at ease, in to make small talk. He still intended to ask her a few things (one, at least) concerning her plan, but that could wait till after dinner. Alexandria Castle-Library Steiner looked deeply troubled. "Wait, why steal the book? If it remains here, the princess will have more reason to want to come back! I say we leave it here...and another thing. I realize the necessity of the situation, but...I cannot lie to her majesty...please...don't make me speak when we "inform" her of the alleged "kidnapper"..." he said. He regarded Sora and Kairi. "...very well." he said. "But first, we will need your names." He WAS edgy about taking them along...but if he was already partnering up with Zidane, which made him uncomfortable for a number of reasons. What were a couple more people he didn't have any reason (yet) to trust? Hyrule Castle-throne room Zelda nodded, and removed the Sage's Mask. "It seems you are still trustworthy, after all." she said with a slight grin. "This is nonetheless a bad situation...and it seems the entire elven race must ask you for a favor once again, Link." she went on. "Please...the source of these new attacks MUST be determined and eradicated. I would suggest...well, trying to ensure Gannondorf is truly gone...but first, something more vital." Her expression was now businesslike, and very earnest. "As you may know, Lon Lon Ranch is one of the leading suppliers of not only milk, but all manner of dairy products to this castle and the town surrounding it. That includes meats and cheeses, which make up a considerable portion of everybody's diet here, myself included. However, the road from the town to the ranch is not deemed safe anymore, and the ranch itself may be in peril, soon." She sighed. "If you can, please...make sure they're alright. Do what you can to keep the road open and the ranch safe in your travels...if it falls, the repercussions here in this town and this castle would be...I don't want to say that we'd starve, but I do believe that the lack of such foods could lead to disease outbreaks...so in your travels, do what you can about that, please?" She was actually (somewhat) pleading with them. |

Central City Nihlus sighed. "Well, yes, I do know a little more. I've had a bit before, even. I studied it's properties and tried to recreate an artificial copy." His yellow eyes flickered back in forth. "It didn't work out so well though. Haven't seen it since. You're probably wondering where I ever found it, aren't you?" Alexandria Forest-exit Three men, the same who were spying on Shimera and Sam, were now at the edge of the forest. "Okay. So we need to look for a key....thing." The first said. "A keyblade." The second replied. "Right, but we don't know what it looks like." The second replied. "But the name is pretty self explanatory, isn't it?" The third retorted. "How can we be sure?" The first countered. "...Oh, forget it. Let's just go to the castle. Maybe we'll find someone who knows what it is!" The third replied. "First, let's get out of these clothes. We're considered outlaws, remember?" The first said. The group all ran off to the town, leaving the forest behind. |

Alexandria-Evil Forest Shimera looked around. Still a little tired, she also had no idea who stole this keyblade or where exactly it could be. "Is there a town close by? Maybe the keyblade is around there..." |

Hyrule Castle: Throne Room Link took the mask back and nodded to Zelda. Miya floated around, feeling triumphant. "Yes! You can count on us! I told you so --" Link shot her a glance and the fairy stopped. "Um... anyway, of course! We'll protect Lon Lon Ranch, and we'll stop whatever nasty monsters are out there! Don't worry Princess!" With that, Link and Miya headed out, unless Zelda had anything more to say, he would leave. Central City Ed jumped off his seat, his golden eyes wide. He had a lead! A real, solid, honest to goodness lead! This could be the break he was waiting for! "Yes! You saw a Philosopher's Stone? Where? When? Is it still there?" Al tensed up. Whenever they got close to the stone, and Ed got over excited, it usually led to trouble. Alexandria Castle: Library Zidane shook his head. "You still don't get it, do you Rusty?" Tot, attempting to keep a fight from starting, ran up to Steiner and cut Zidane off. "Master Steiner... I do not believe the Princess has any intention of returning until she has found a way to cure her mother's condition. If you take her that book, she can find what she seeks and perhaps it will be the key to saving the Queen... if you find her, and she does not have the book... I fear your only means of bringing her back will be to physically force her to return." Zidane raised a brow. "Why do you say that?" Tot flushed. "Well... when we parted, Princess Garnet said to me; 'I shall not return, Doctor, until I can help mother... even if she were to send her knights to drag me home, I cannot return'..." Zidane laughed. "Oh yeah, she sounds like my kind of woman." Tot frowned. Zidane ignored this and looked to Steiner. "Chill, Rusty! You don't have to say a word to the Queen. I'll do the talking... but you can't blow our cover, okay? Garnet's life might depend on it!" Paladin Enclave Garnet shook her head. "It is alright. To be perfectly honest... I would still like to stick to the plan we have discussed. I have to believe that what Tot told me was the truth..." She sighed. "I must sound foolish... you have seen summoning be used as magic... and yet I continue to insist it is not... but, my summoning is my only connection to the real me. I am Princess Garnet Til Alexandros the XVIIth now, but I used to be someone else... and I have absolutely no connection to that person apart from what Doctor Tot taught me." Shaking her head, she smiled to him. "We should talk about something else... please, if you had anything you wanted to know about me, feel free to ask..." "There you two are!" A blond woman in a blue uniform suddenly appeared at the side of the table. She was Sister Agrias Oaks, one of the Paladins. Only a few years Didymus' elder, she was a respected Paladin because of an incident that she had been involved in. "Brother Didymus, Elder Orlandu wanted me to inform you that he has prepared and airship and you and the Princess are welcomed to see it after your meal." Agrias told him. |

Hyrule Castle: Throne Room Zelda nodded, and spoke: "Fare you well, Link, and goddesses guide you!" she called, expressing the faith held by most elves in Hyrule. Alexandria Castle-library Steiner nodded. "Then...I...suppose...it must be done." he said. Oh, it hurt him so! But if it meant Garnet's safety... "Very well. I am ready when you are." he said. Paladin Enclave-dining hall Didymus smiled at Garnet with understanding. "I understand, lady. But as for the "real you"...well, you may not be Brahne's biological daughter, your given name at birth may not have been Garnet till Alexandros XVII...but that girl has left this world. Who's to say that she was like you internally? Your ARE yourself now, even if under a different name than what your biological parents gave you. Lady...you know the faith that we Paladins seek to keep. We believe that all that happens, happens for a reason...that it all works into the Lord's plan...that even though things against His will may occur, He's still working, and He's got a plan for EVERYONE. I know how morbid this may sound, but perhaps the biological Garnet till Alexandros XVII passed on in infancy so that YOU could be found, YOU could take her place, and act in it in a way that YOU, and not her, would do so in the position you now find yourself in..." He was about to ask Garnet about her favorite works of literature, or drama, or something lighter that would perhaps help her relax...then Agrias Oaks appeared. "Sister Oaks!" Didymus said. "Already? Wow, that was faster than I expected. Thank you very much." he said, turning to Garnet, he spoke again. "Lady Garnet, might I introduce Sister Agrias Oaks. She's a few years my senior in the Order. Sister Oaks, this is...well, I'm confident you know." he said. |

I can't see what you're imagining

-Central City: Tavern- “Now, now, young Sama,” Ansem said, leaning back in his makeshift chair of wind, “Would I really send you of all people to deal with a simple misplaced Fire Bender? No, he is not a Bender. Not like you, at least, but I have suspicions that his power is similar enough to yours.” He sighed, thinking things over, “The Chasers will be busy in the coming months. I hope that both of you will be careful.” -Alexandria: Evil Forest- “There is a city not far from here…The boy who stole the Keyblade from me is there, currently,” Xenanhort said with a sigh, and made his way to it, “It shouldn’t take long…” “The capitol…Alexandria…” Cess said, “We…should be a little careful there. The Queen’s apparently been going a little…crazy, recently.” -Alexandria: Library- “Oh, sorry!” Kairi explained, “My name is Kairi, and this is Sora.” Sora grinned, and held up his right hand. In a flash of light, his Keyblade appeared in hand. “Yup! Ready to help out!” -Central City: Bazaar- Garet sighed, walking through Central City, rubbing the back of his head. “Ugh…Wish I knew where Isaac was…” Garet sighed, “He’d know what to do…” |

Central City: Tavern Crystal chose to stay quiet through the explanation of the strange fire bender trying to pass himself off as an alchemist....Or was he really something different like their leader described. Crystal frowned slightly and shifted in her sport. "Well if you need me i'm in of course" Crystal decided, brushing off her worry and addressing Sama. She had just said she needed some excitement...And now it looked like she had it. |

Central City-Tavern The Mage was so surprised by the outburst, he nearly fell out of his chair. He instead pulled a small chunk of marble size rock from his pocket. He placed it on the table, and there was something suspicious about it. It glowed a redish hue. "This is all I have left of the Philosopher's stone. There's not much one can do with it. I just keep it for luck now..." He said, before pulling out a pipe from his nearby bag. He lit it with a flicker of his finger, and placed in his "mouth." "I found it near a volcano, nearly two weeks ago. I doubt there's any left though. A strange, cloaked group arrived after I did and took what was left." He continued. "The volcano was in the border. Can't miss it. But it takes a couple days to get to it. There was nobody out there when I was there. It was pretty desolate, if nothing else." Nihlus said, with a deep huff. (Sorry to keep you waiting AGoI) Seaside town Two strange figures, one male the other female walked around the square of a small town near the Sea. One, the male, wore a yellow cape and a chest plate. He had had a sword sheathed tied to his back. He must have been around 17 or so. The Female wore robes with a cloak tied to the back. She had blue hair and was also around 17. She carried a staff and walked next to the guy. Issac and Mia were both from a strange land far away, and were gifted with psyenergy. They had somehow lost their friends, and were here now. "Well, here we are. What strange lands." Mia said to Issac. Issac returned the glance and nodded. "Wonder where everyone else is..." Mia mumbled. |

The Crazy One

Central City: Tavern Sama gave a small shrug. “I figured there was more too this situation than just a simple firebender, but I’ll go where I’m needed. I suppose not everyone in my shoes can fight crazy dictators and save the world from utter destruction.” It was impossible to miss the hope in his voice as he said it. While he did enjoy the random adventures his job in the Chasers provided, it was clear that he had dreams of having a truly incredible adventure. Stories of his predecessors were always so exciting. “Well of course I need you to come with me!” He said to Crystal with a grin. “They’d stop calling Ansem ‘the Wise’ if he let me handle anything this important by myself.” He gave a small wink and snickered to himself. He did enjoy giving Ansem a hard time, but in truth he took his work seriously; and in truth he agreed with his adopted dad’s view. He could see it on the faces of the people wherever his travels took him. The world sat atop a powder keg; and when a big enough spark came along, he knew it would mean major troubles. He wanted his friends nearby when that happened, and he had a feeling it would be sooner than later… […] A few tables away, Edward’s jaw dropped and he instantly became fixated on the small chunk of red Nihlus had sat down. It certainly looked like a Philosopher’s Stone… but he had seen red stones before, and they were cheap substitutes. Still, what the mage said was true. With such a small piece, even if this was the real deal, he doubted it would have the power to perform the act he required; returning his brother Al to a flesh and blood body. “Brother…” Al gasped, looking at the stone. “Yeah…” Ed crossed his arms. He now wanted to check out the volcano, though from what Nihlus said it did not sound like it would be a productive trip. Still, this was a major lead… the biggest he’d had in some time. “… Maybe we can find out who was using that volcano two years ago. If there was a group of people, someone might remember something. It isn’t much, but we have a location.” Ed seemed more confident. He looked to Nihlus. “Thanks pal… you’re alright.” Seaside Town There was another stranger in the port city, aside from the adepts from across the seas. This was a young woman with chocolate hair and mismatched eyes. She wore white and blue robes, and carried with her a grand staff of white oak with an odd yellow ornament on the end that almost made it look like an oar. “…” She was silent. Yuna had never been away from the Spiran Cluster before. Now, though, the young summoner had ventured onto the mainland. She did not know it yet, but soon her destiny would unfold on these foreign shores. ((DP, if you’d like, Rikku is welcomed to be with her! Granted my posting will still be few and far between for at least another week or so.)) Alexandria – Library Zidane gave a thumbs up to Sora and Kairi. “Okay, great! Then just follow along with me, alright?” ((I’ll push this story ahead in my next post… I forgot the exact details of the plan, but I’m afraid if I open a new window to go check the other thread I’ll crash firefox. >_<)) Paladin Enclave: Dining Hall Garnet shook her head. It was comforting to hear Didymus’ speech, but she had done a bad job conveying her exact feelings. “That is not exactly what I meant… I am happy to be Garnet Til Alexandros, and I shall always be who I am now for my life… but… I know that I have an entire other culture, a whole separate heritage that I know very little about. Aside from the Princess I am because of my mother’s adopting me, I am also a Summoner… yet the only knowledge I have of the Summoners comes from old books. Now, I am counting on my ability as a Summoner to save my mother, and perhaps my Kingdom… and yet I know nothing of the Summoners! It is also a part of me… and I do not know it.” Agrias Oaks listened for a moment, and then gave a small smile to Garnet. “Try not to worry so much. When the time comes, you’ll do just fine.” She patted the Princess on the shoulder. “… I am not sure I can be so confident –“ “I’ll be confident for you, then.” Agrias shook her head. “Do yourself a favor and try not to worry as much. Now make sure you eat up, you’ll need your strength for the trip… and if you don’t mind, I should like to borrow Brother Didymus for a bit.” Garnet blinked for a moment, and then nodded. “Oh… certainly.” Agrias gave a small bow to the princess and then turned on heel and looked to Didymus. “Grab your sword and meet me out in front of the Chapel in fifteen minutes.” Agrias said matter-of-factly. “You’ll be protecting the Princess for a much longer time on this mission than your last, and there is sure to be even more danger… so I’d like to test you to your very limits now, so that you’re absolutely prepared for your journey.” |
