I can't see what you're imagining
-Alexandria: Evil Forest-

“A Keyblade?” Cess wondered, raising his eyebrows, “Just legends. Suppose to be a powerful weapon, only useable by a select few. Can open any lock, and…”

He paused, thinking, “Suppose to bring either about ruin or salvation…”

-Alexandria: Castle Gates-

Sora and Kairi appeared by the gates of the castle.

“I guess we just head in…” Sora answered, then entered, Kairi behind him.

-Amestries: Tavern-

A small…boy? Teenager? His age was a bit in question, sat in a corner of the bar. He had a mug of milk sitting in front of him, and his eyes seemed half closed, as though he was beginning to nod off.

Resting against the wall by him was a short sword, along with some leather armor. His hair was red, and messy, and his half closed eyes brown.

Galv the Paladin of Lightning was within Amestries borders for a number of reasons. One, he was seeing how things worked, knowing the enemy. Two, he was looking for someone in particular.

Who it was…well, he wouldn’t say to anyone.

Of course, no one knew he was a paladin, just a wandering swordsman. No one knew that he rarely needed to use his weapon.

Suddenly, entering the tavern was an older man with blond hair, blue eyes, and an odd red and black outfit, stepping through the chairs and tables lightly, standing tall.

His eyes fell across Sama, and he smiled, making his way to him.

“Ahhh…It’s good to see you again,” Ansem the Wise, leader of the Chasers said, nodding politely to the Avatar, “I was hoping to find you around.”

Amestries-Tavern

The old mage nodded. "Yes, I have picked up bits and pieces of information on the Philosopher's Stone. I heard it can amazingly increase ones transmutation abilities. You can break the law of equivalent exchange with it."

He stopped and took a sip of his ale before continuing. "I've heard one can even bring another back to life! The wonders of what that one stone could do. I am curious to know, but, I really have no need for it. And even with my heightened senses, I probably couldn't find it. Considering it has many forms."

He sighed. "Yes, sounds like quite the treasure." He knew more, but he was unwilling to share it.

(I just noticed. I started two of one of the most active places. That tavern and the evil forest. How strange...oh, and I'll do something with Issac and Mia eventually.)

GRAPPLING HOOK!

Central City Tavern

Crystal raised an eyebrow, the news of Sama's plans were interesting. Of course interesting did always mean smart. She couldn't help but to frown a tiny bit.

"Are you sure that's smart? I mean i'm sure you're not going to just be able to waltz into an old bending village...Though I have to ask...Do you know what kind of benders it belonged to?" She leaned in like it was some big secret, an excited look temporarily overtaking her her frown.

Crystal had always loved learning about the history of the benders...She of course was a bender, but outside the customs of the water tribe she could always stand to learn more.

“I was hoping to find you around.”

Crystal looked up from the conversation and to the man who as addressing Sama. Instantly her eyes widened and she became quiet, after all Ansem the Wise was speaking. She smiled.

Eva stood over Winry as she looked over the scooter. The bike was small but a bit bulky, the best she could do with the resources she had in he hometown. The engine was large and made of cool steel, a small compartment made to release steam and take in water or oil when needed. All in all Eva's scooter was impressive for being made by such a young girl, it as her pride and joy.

"How long have you been doing this?" Eva asked, attempted to make conversation. "I've heard raves about your family's work in nearby towns"

Central City, Amestris-Mustang's office

Hughes took something of a more serious tone, and went on.

"What we know? Simple. According to some documents we found, we know Wild Rose's next target. You are well aware that general Hakuro is being recalled from his leave in the south back here to Central City, right? Wild Rose knows exactly what train he's going to be on, when it's departing, and where it was be departing from. I think what they intend to do with that information is pretty obvious."

With that, he took out a few papers the captured documents, and paused.

"Think about it, Roy. I haven't passed this information along yet. You could act like YOU dug it up, or better yet, do that and personally write give the orders to counter the rebel move. Or something like that, again, think about it! You'd have one of the highest generals in the military IN YOUR DEBT. This is at least commendation-worthy material."

With that, he simply asked, "Well? What do you think?" and pushed the documents closer to Mustang across his desk.

Alexandria Castle-front gate

A pair of guards, this time regular Alexandrian army (meaning that they were female), approached, and called out for them to state their busniess.

(In the interest of saving time...)

If they offered to help find Garnet, they would be escorted to Brahne's chambers, and, if she would grant them an audience, they would be let in to see her.

Alexandria Castle-Garnet's chambers

Steiner frowned. Zidane's pockets still looked a bit...bulgy. He shook his head; he'd address that issue later. For now, he simply said "Come with me!", and eventually made his way to doctor Tot's quarters (or the library, or wherever he'd be).

"Doctor Tot!" he called. "Doctor!"

Paladin Enclave

"Very well." Didymus said. "Come with me."

With that, he proceeded to lead her to another structure-

Paladin Enclave-dining hall

The dining hall was modestly-decorated, but still had a pleasant, relaxing atmosphere. Adjacent to it was a commons which contained a number of things-it was like a lounge. Over in it, within sight of the dining area Didymus now led Garnet into, a pair of other Paladins were playing chess.

"Take a seat, lady, and I shall get you something-but tell me, what are you in the mood for?" Didymus said.

Of course, this would be far from the lavish and aristocratic gourmet meals that Garnet may have been used to-but it was good and filling food nonetheless. There were a few dishes, and they would represent a more or less balanced meal. There were some meats, fruits, bread, and even some cheese out on the serving table.

Hyrule-throughout it

Yes, that is indeed a strange description, but I put it there for a single purpose:

All around Hyrule, messangers were running about, all of which carrying the same message: Link, who had alledgedly defeated Gannondorf but a few weeks ago, was being summoned by Zelda herself to Hyrule Castle.

Central City: Tavern

Sama flashed one of those mischievous grins that always meant trouble was ahead.

"Ordinarily it would be pretty dangerous to get in... but there's a secret passageway underground; one the Amestris military probably hasn't found. The only reason I know about it is because Roku told me in a dream."

'Probably' was a dangerous word. Still, in this case, Sama had a good reason to doubt Amestris had discovered the tunnel.

"As for which tribe it was... it was founded for all four tribes to live in. It was supposed to foster better relations between the tribes, as well as building a relationship with Amestris... the Avatar founded it... but it failed." Sama whispered the last bit.

Suddenly a familiar voice spoke and he twisted his head around in a flash. It was Ansem! The leader of the Chasers and one of the wisest people in the world. The young Avatar had enormous respect for the secret society's leader.

"It's good to see you, too." Sama nodded. "Though I'm surprised to see you here of all places!"

He waved his hand and a ball of air formed next to the table as a makeshift chair. "Here, sit down, get comfortable!" Sama invited him.

He briefly paused to reflect on the fact that, had he made a ball of air for himself earlier, he'd not be broke. With a shrug, he dismissed the thought.

"I was just telling Crystal about an old bending village I plan to visit near here... but if you've a job you need me to do, just say the word."

[...]

Ed raised one of his blond brows. Nihlus hadn't really shared any information the Elrics did not already know, but something -- perhaps the tone of the old mage's voice, or perhaps Edward's annoyance at the fact he never seemed to get closer to the stone -- made him wonder if the mage knew more.

Al, however, sensed Ed's sudden tension and decided to step in before his brother could get them in trouble... again.

"We appreciate you telling us, sir." Al said politely. "We haven't had much luck, but we'll find it."

Wanting to change the subject, just so Ed didn't bring it up again, Al added: "So, if I may ask, what brings you to Central?"

Resembool

Winry took a long look at the bike, admiring the machine in all it's glory... and then, without warning, she attacked it -- taking apart screws, unbolting things, disconnecting this and that.

"I've started learning this when I was a kid," Winry replied as she worked. "I wanted to learn about machines and automail when my dog needed a new leg... I remember crying so much because I thought we'd lose him, but with automail he was just fine -- he's upstairs, if you want to meet him, but he gets excited."

Suddenly, Winry had that 'eureka' moment look in her eyes. She jumped away from the partially-disassembled bike and ran to a counter, digging around until she found a compartment similiar to the one Eva had used on her bike, though it had a few more openings.

"Granny says when the only other kids in town left, I got a little obsessive with machines." Winry said as she sat back down by the bike and started hooking up the new piece, and then proceeded to reconnect the rest of it.

"That outta do it." Winry wiped some grease from her hands onto her bandanna. "The new compartment is a little bigger, so it'll add some weight, but there's more openings so the steam can escape in a more even flow.... it should keep the noise down and make a smoother ride."

((XD! I Just finished this, and now I check and Vidit has posted!))

Central City: Mustang's Office

Mustang looked at the paper... Haruko. If Mustang was able to save his life, it would mean a medal... and for more importantly, it would earn him respect among the top brass. Respect among the very men and women whom he would need if he was to make his dreams a reality.

"If I may, sir, Hughes is right." Hawkeye added, finally breaking her silence.

"... Yes, he is." Mustang grinned. "I'll need to play this one carefully... we'll need someone we can depend on to save Haruko, but also someone we can trust..."

And idea had crossed his mind. He quickly wrote down a set of orders, sealed them in a envelope and handed them to Hughes. "Go find Fullmetal."

Alexandria Castle

((In a likewise interest of saving time, we can just assume Brahne will accept their offer of help and send them to meet up with Stenier and Zidane... unless, AGOI, you want them to go separately from those two, in which case she'll send them by themselves. Your call!))

Alexandria Castle: Royal Library

Doctor Tot was organizing several books on a desk, when suddenly Steiner and a young man he did not know had approached him.

"Oh, my! Yes, Captain Steiner, it's nice to see you again... have you any closer to finding the Princess? I do worry about her so since she left."

Tot seemed genuine in that he was worried about her, but...

"Wait... you said 'left'? Not 'disappeared'?" Zidane crossed his arms and smirked.

Tot gasped and gave a bit of a jump. "Oh, um, yes... well... you have a tail! Astounding."

Zidane sweat dropped. "H-Hey now! Don't change the subject! Do you know something about where the Princess went!"

Tot seemed nervous. He uttered a small sigh. "... I don't know for certain... but... recently Princess Garnet has expressed concerns over her mother's health. She believes the Queen is quite ill... she did talk about wanting to find a way to help her mother, but..."

Tot shook his head. "I don't know... she may have absconded of her own will to find help."

"That's it?" Zidane raised an eyebrow. "You don't know anything more than that?"

Tot looked uncomfortable. "Well... she expressed interest in borrowing a book from the library, but unfortunately the tome she desired was already checked out by the Queen. I suggested she talk to the Queen -- both about the book and her concerns -- but... she never responded to me."

Zidane shrugged his shoulders. "I really don't think Princesses run away from home because they can't get the library book they want... do you know anything else?"

Tot shook his head. "I'm sorry, that is all I know... I do apologize for not reporting this sooner, Captain Steiner, but I could not be sure if she had indeed left of her own will..."

What Tot did not tell them -- and what he would not tell them -- was that he knew perfectly well why Garnet had left, and indeed, it had been Doctor Tot who had contacted Galdwin about helping her escape! Naturally, if he told Steiner that, Brahne would have him hanged.

Paladin Enclave: Dining Hall

Garnet shook her head. "Oh... it... it is not important... I can eat whatever there is." She offered a small smile.

In truth, it was hard to be refined and lady-like when she had not eaten in a very long time, but she had to try. She was after all, Princess... even if she was also a fugitive.

Hyrule Castle

A young man in odd green clothes approached the castle. He carried a blue shield and a marvelous sword on his back. Normally, some could not just waltz into Hyrule Castle... but this young man was Link!

He had been to the Castle once before; when he had driven Ganondorf away. Since then, Link had been all over Hyrule, trying to learn more about the stories he had heard of a 'necromancer'.

Link hurried to the castle, and sought an audience with Zelda.

Hughes nodded.

"Yes sir...", he said, and then flushed a bit.

"...any idea where he is?" he asked.

Alexandria Castle-Library

Steiner nodded. Tot seemed suspicious, on one hand, but on the other, he was a respected tutor and scholar! Why would he hide anything from this search?

He spoke up, but respectfully and even pleadingly.

"Doctor, please, if you have ANY idea where she may have gone, let us know. I am confident you are as concerned as I about what may happen to her out on her own!" he cried.

Paladin Enclave-dining hall

"Very well." Didymus said, and went off to the serving table. Grabbing two plates, he proceeded to fill them both. One, he filled with a little of everything that was there, in equal proportions. Garnet hadn't specified a preference. The other, he filled with a more imbalanced selection-leaning towards more meat.

Silently praying for the meal, he proceeded to where Garnet had sat (if she had, which I'm going to guess), and set the "balanced" plate before her, and, placing some silverware beside each, he smiled at her.

"There you are."

He sat down.

"I'm confident it's a far cry from...you know, what Alexandria Castle's kitchens produce, but it's good. Anyway, so...uh..." he was trying to start a conversation, one that would help Garnet rest easy, for now. He still had a question concerning her plan, but that could wait, at least till after dinner.

"...you're well-read and educated, I trust. Tell me, lady, if you care, what has been your favorite study? Or, if you'd rather listen, I could tell you much about my own studies-or my adventures as an apprentice in the Order, before my ordaining as a brother...or we can eat in silence, if you like.", after saying that last part, he gave something of a sheepish grin.

Hyrule Castle

Link was welcomed into Hyrule Castle, and quickly ushered into its throne room, where Zelda sat, awaiting him.

Central City: Mustang's Office

Roy gave an exasperated glance at Hughes. “You can dig up information on a secret assassination plot, but you can’t find Fullmetal? … Well, I suppose I shouldn’t be surprise, he is practically microscopic.”

Mustang paused and looked around. Everything was quiet. There was nothing being broken, no screaming, no death threats… the one place they knew Ed was not was anywhere within earshot.

“Sir…” Hawkeye coughed.

Fine.” Mustang shrugged his shoulders, ending his jokes. “The Elrics are at a Tavern downtown. Rumor’s been going around there’s an alchemist who likes to drink there who has recently been talking about the Philosopher’s Stone. I’m sure Ed will be thrilled that I’m ordering him away…”

He paused. “Lieutenant, if Ed should call, I’m not here.”

Hawkeye shook her head. Sometimes he could really be a pain.

Alexandria Castle: Library

Doctor Tot gave a small sigh. He knew that Steiner, aside from being the Captain of the Knights of Pluto, had served as Garnet’s personal bodyguard since the days when Tot was still teaching her to read. Tot suspected that if it truly came to it, Steiner would stand with the Princess rather than the Queen.

“… Captain Steiner, what I am about to tell you is a most closely guarded royal secret. Princess Garnet… is not the Queen’s daughter.”

“Say WHAT?” Zidane’s jaw dropped. “Oooh, now that’s a juicy little nugget.”

Tot coughed.

“Oh, uh, sorry, go on…” Zidane rubbed his neck.

“Princess Garnet was born in the Summoner’s Village… a city across the Great Sea. No one knows how, but the village was destroyed just days after Garnet’s birth. Her true mother escaped on a boat and made it to our continent… but she died. In a chance, our late King found the baby. She looked just like his daughter whom had died during birth… he named the baby Garnet and he and Queen Brahne have raised her as their own.”

Zidane had suddenly become solemn and serious… he had never known his home, either, having washed up on the shore with no memories a few years ago. Though he had never met her, he suddenly felt a connection to the Princess he was hunting.

Tot continued. “Princess Garnet can use White Magic, as you well known Captain… but lying dormant inside her is the ability to use a far greater skill; Summoning. Princess Garnet cannot perform the act now, but if she could learn to Summon, she would be… a true force. She could heal, she could destroy and she could obtain the knowledge of the ancient Summons! I believe the Princess is searching for the Summoner’s Village… she wants to unlock those skills.”

“For the war?” Zidane asked.

“No,” Tot shook his head. “… Mister Zidane, have you ever been to Evil Forest?”

“Yes, once.” Zidane nodded. “It was a pretty rough place. A lot of horrible monsters.”

“Indeed it is. The reason is Miasma. Miasma is a variation of mist – a horrible, toxic mist that transforms animals and plants into vicious monsters. It can also cause people to fall ill, or in some cases… become twisted and filled with evil desires.” Tot explained.

“Miasma, huh? I have seen some weird purple mist before… but I never knew what it was called.” Zidane shrugged.

“Garnet suspects that the Queen has become infected by Miasma, and that is why she has insisted on going to war, and made so many odd choices.” He paused and looked to Steiner. “… I apologize, I know you have great respect for the Queen, but those were Princess Garnet’s words.”

Zidane rubbed his chin. “… Okay! So Garnet just wants to help her mom, right? So she’s off to the Summoner’s Village. Now we know where to find her!”

Tot shook his head. “To find the village, she will need a book… to my knowledge, there are only two copies left in the world. The book Queen Brahne took from the library is one of them.”

Zidane nodded. “I get it… so she had to leave to find the other book! Makes sense. Man… for a princess, she’s pretty smart, and pretty tricky! Sounds like she’s a quite a woman… I’d like to meet her…”

Tot coughed. Zidane sweatdropped.

“I mean, uh… where’s the other book, Doc?” Zidane tried to change the subject very quickly.

Tot frowned. “The other book… is in Amestris Alchemist Library, in their capitol city, Central. It’s off limits to everyone except State Alchemists.”

Zidane’s jaw dropped. “She’s going TO Amestris to sneak into a military library? Oh man, I have got to meet this girl!”

Paladin Enclave: Dining Hall

Garnet, after having thanked the Paladin, blinked and looked at her plate for a moment. She was used to a very different kind of food. The castle always had the fanciest foods of all – and several chefs who prepared them. This was not the same kind of food, but it looked good none the less.

“Thank you… don’t worry, I knew I wouldn’t have the lap of luxury when I left the castle.” Garnet explained.

She paused and tried a few of the foods. It was… different indeed. That might have been why she liked it so much. The castle was fantastic, but it held a lot of bad memories since her mother’s decline… this actually did not bring those memories to surface.

“My favorite study?” Garnet flushed. “I… I don’t think that would be a good idea.”

In truth, her favorite study had been when Beatrix taught her White Magic. Considering she was in the middle of a room full of Paladins, she thought boasting about her magic would be disrespectful.

“I have a question for you… you told me before that coming to get me was your first true mission as a Brother, correct? How is it that you were selected for that mission?”

Garnet paused, and realized how that might sound. “Ack!” She gasped. “N-Not that you didn’t do a good job… you did, I was just curious…”

Hyrule Castle

Link stepped into the room and approached the Princess. He kneeled and nodded his head.

Suddenly, a small fairy flew out from beneath his hat. “Princess Zelda! So nice to see you again! Do you remember me, Miya the Fairy? I’m Link’s sidekick! Anyway, I’m sorry it took us so long to get here! Link and I were in the mountains, but we came back as soon as we heard!”

Link nodded, confirming the story.

“What do you need Zelda? Are the Moblins giving you trouble again? Or is it some kind of monster? Whatever it is, Link can handle it!” Miya, the small orb of light with wings, bobbed up and down in the air, as if nodding yes.

((I created Miya so that Link can remain the ‘silent protagonist’ he’s always been. XD If it gets annoying, we’ll just forget it.))

I'll bite your legs off!
(Sama...THAT. SIG. WINS.)

Central City, Amestris-Mustang's office

Hughes just chuckled. He liked Ed, and was nowhere near as hard on him as Mustang, but he was never one not to laugh at one of his friends's jokes-even if it was at the expense of another. In his own defense, however, he spoke up.

"Be glad we focus on things like assassination plots and such...although actually, it was the soldiers who...cracked down on Fynn, who found this information. I just...got it to you." he said.

In truth, he was actually risking his own neck in this. Considerably. When the report on the operation came to Central City for documentation, he had covered up the discovery, confiscated the Wild Rose orders and document cache, and otherwise edited the records to show that no such intelligence was found...all so he could give the information to Roy, and make it look as though it was he, not the soldiers in the crackdown operation, who had made the discovery.

But he kept silent about the precise level of risk he was taking. That was something that he and Roy just did. When one did the other a favor, they rarely mentioned just what it was costing them.

Hughes nodded, and, with a additional nod to Hawkeye, he walked out of the office, and eventually made his way through the streets, orders for Ed in hand...

(GS, I don't know when you want him to get there...it could be next post, or you could let the conversation between the Elrics and Nihlus develop more...just let me know.)

Alexandria Castle-library

Steiner's jaw dropped.

He was flabbergasted for a bit, but looked back and forth between Zidane and Tot, before his thoughts were loudly made known.

"WHAT?! Why do you speak such things before him?!" he demanded, pointing to Zidane. He was even more agitated by Zidane's repeated declarations of wanting to meet Garnet, (they made him feel...uneasy). He nodded during Tot's relating of Garnet's concerns, but was silent concerning his own shared concerns. His duty remained.

"Never mind! But to think our poor princess...going alone into the heart of such a nation as Amestris! They'll...they'll take her hostage for sure! They're never satisfied with what power they have! We need to find her! I've...I've got to tell her majesty!" Steiner declared.

(With all this talk relating to Brahne, I think a link is in order (WARNING:Some language):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b4ecUBEiZ5c&feature=related

Paladin Enclave

Didymus nodded, somewhat curiously, even warily, at Garnet's statement concerning her favorite study, but let the issue drop.

He let out a small chuckle when Garnet asked about his task, then tried to clarify (between bites of his meal).

"Relax, lady, it's a good question. And admittedly...perhaps you do me too much honor...it's true, you're here now, but when Bradley attacked...I may have chosen the wrong method to combat him. I should hope, I suppose, that you were long gone when he and I crossed blades, but...he disarmed me. I believe that I was being told...well, that Bradley was not human, but rather, something of a dark nature...but instead of trying to exorcise him, I attacked him with my sword...he knocked it out of my hand, and I'm not certain what would have happened if elder Dycedarg hadn't arrived."

With that said, he loosened up a bit.

"As for why I was chosen for the mission...well, to be honest, I'm not sure. My best guess: that it was the will of God, to be honest. Or at least, that the elders believed it so. They had been praying about this for a while, and they said that I was to go shortly after I was "promoted"...I could give you a whole lecture, even a sermon, about the finer nuances of things like this if you wish, but in a nutshell, that's what I think it was ultimately about."

He paused.

"With that said, there were more..."earthly" reasons-faith and practicality are not mutually exclusive at all-such as the fact that I had experiences during my apprenticeship that helped now-such as, for example, the fact that it was not my first time in Alexandria. My elder brother-that is, a man who oversaw my apprenticeship and helped prepare me to become a proper brother myself-and I once journeyed to Alexandria city a few years ago. We were to help a local church in an outreach...in fact, I believe it was your birthday." he smiled at that, and chuckled a bit.

"Yes, I remember, the city was in celebration. In fact, after our errands were done, my elder brother and I went to see that theater troupe preform, what did they call themselves, the "Tantalus", I believe. Ah yes, I remember, and the performance was of "I Want to be your Canary". Of course, it was pretty packed, in fact, I think we may have been among the rooftop viewers, but it was a pretty good show-if only for the fireworks. It was difficult to tell exactly what was happening from up there."

He chuckled again. It was then that two realizations hit him: one, that the birthday being celebrated may not have been that of the Garnet sitting there with him, but rather of the girl whose persona she had been given, which he decided not to mention out of politeness-it was something of a morbid topic, one that he decided not to mention.

Two, that he had had another experience during his apprenticeship that would have qualified as a help in accompaning Garnet-one that took place on a cluster of islands to the west of Galdwin-the Spiran Cluster. Yes, the Spiran Cluster, and its...summoners.

A spark of realization appeared on his face for a moment, then was quickly supressed.

He smiled again.

"So, again, faith and God's will is what I think it came down to, and my experiences contributed to it." he said.

Hyrule Castle-throne room

(GS, the Miya idea sounds awesome, actually. But if she(?) starts going "HEY! LISTEN! HEY! LISTEN! HEY!...", you'll probably be in trouble. XD)

Zelda smiled a bit, before speaking.

"Yes...I remember you both rather fondly." she said. "Thank you for coming so quickly. Now..." her smile faded. "...as to why I have called you...the moblins are indeed giving us trouble again. But not just them...it's something...darker. You said you defeated Gannondorf, but his minions-what remains of them-have recently intensifed their attacks, but now, I've heard rumors...abominations, rotting flesh, skeletons, and things such as that...the corpses of departed throughout the realm are being said to have risen in foul undeath!"

She paused, before speaking again.

"Now, with all respect..." she said. "...when you vanquished Gannondorf...were you quite certain the deed was thoroughly done ?" she asked.

(Thanks! I needed a project to test photoshop, so... sig! XD)

Central City: Mustang's Office

Although it was unspoken, Mustang knew the system well enough that he understood fully what Hughes had done to get him this information. The truth was, each and every one of Mustang's people were putting themselves -- and their families -- in an extraordinary amount of danger. Far more danger than what ordinarily went with being a soldier, even in Amestris.

It did hurt to know the doting father's devotion to Roy's cause created the possibility that Elysia could grow up without her dad. Still, Roy could not dwell on that idea -- or on the idea that Breda, Falman, Fury, Havoc, Sheska, Armstrong... or even Hawkeye could wind up dead because of this. He was doing this not for the reason he often gave -- an all-female mini-skirt squadron -- but for the people who had died because of Bradley, and those who would die if the Fuhrer remained in power.

"... I could use a drink." Mustang announced, opening a drawer and grabbing an old bottle of scotch. With a sudden grin, he looked to Hawkeye. "How about --"

"I'm fine, sir." Hawkeye replied instantly.

"Shot down." Mustang sighed, pouring a glass.

"Extinguished." Hawkeye corrected him with the slightest hint of a smile, and then she took her leave.

((It would be nice if ES had a chance to respond before Ed and Al have to be whisked away. =3))

Alexandria Castle: Library

"Adelbert Steiner, stop!" Tot demanded, and he threw himself between the much-larger knight and the door. "You must'n tell the Queen!"

"Yeah, Rusty, stop and think for a minute!" Zidane also rushed over, standing on the side of the small Tot and the large Steiner. "If you tell Brahne, she'll mobilize the airships and the army and go looking for Garnet... it'll start a full-blown war with Amestris! Not only that, but then Amestris will know Garnet is in their country! They won't stop hunting until they find her!"

Zidane shook his head. "But... if WE sneak into Amestris, we might be able to find her first! It's a lot safer than starting another war -- and it keeps Garnet safe because Amestris won't know she's there!"

A lightbulb went off in Tot's mind. "Quite right... Steiner, if you tell Queen Brahne and she invades Amestris... then Amestris will look for Garnet, and if that happens... then Garnet will be in danger, because of you!"

Paladin Enclave

Garnet listened with interested -- indeed, she seemed captivated by the story! It was much like those she had been read by Doctor Tot when she was a little girl.

As he explained about being in Alexandria once before, Garnet's mind was flooded with memories. Her birthday... each year, Mother had made a huge to-do about it. All of Alexandria celebrated and she was showered with gifts and praise.

That year, Tantalus had preformed. She remembered it well... Tantalus was a talented performance! Ruby had done a wonderful job of playing the lead, and Marcus was quite talented as well. Baku had funny, and Blank, Cinna and Zidane had all been quite exciting in the sword fight scene.

... Of course, she did not know the names of any of those people, having never really met them.

She was about to ask him about viewing the play from the roof-tops, when she saw a change in his expression; only for a moment. She blinked and wondered...

"Erm... is something wrong?" Garnet asked. Although he was smiling now, she could have sworn she saw a different expression. She had been taught to pay close attention to people's faces, since a good Queen must be able to 'read' people. (As most people would mask their true feelings around someone as important as a Queen, and she had been trained to be Queen one day)

Hyrule Castle: Throne Room

Link listened carefully... and then his jaw dropped and his eyes widened. Miya started flying around in all directions and making excited noises.

"W-What!? Of course we're quite sure! I saw Link stab Ganondorf right in the HEAD! And it was with the Master Sword, of all things! There's no way that old creep survived!"

Link seemed distressed by this news. He reached into his bag and pulled out a small mask that covered only the eyes. (See the picture I posted in sign ups) and then he offered it to Zelda.

"Ah, Link! That's a great idea! Princess, that is the Sage's Mask! It has various magical powers... one of them is the ability to 'read hearts'! If you wear that mask, you'll see Link's heart and you'll see it's honest! Go on and use it, if you don't believe us -- but give it back! Link had to slay a monster for that, you know!"

Link shook his head... Miya was really rude sometimes.

Paladin Enclave

Didymus thought for a moment.

"I'm fine, lady..." he said. "...but I just remembered something...in fact, this thought DID occur to me earlier...I...I was once on a trip to a group of islands, the Spiran Cluster...it was before they had banned non-Yevonite faiths...and long story short, well, the "elite", so to speak, echelons of the Yevonite clergy are, well, summoners. However, they even told me, when I asked, that they were mages, and their summoning was magical. I remember seeing one...she danced around, swinging a big staff and saying an incantation...so if indeed your summoning abilities are natural and you should have only to concentrate, then that's not what you're looking for. And I'm confident elder Orlandeau knew that, too, otherwise he probably would have spoken up. Although...it is interesting, perhaps."

Didymus's smile returned.

"But should we talk of such things now?" he asked. "If your mind is still made up to go to Amestris even after this new tidbit of information, than let us return to easier conversation! Like I said, I've got much I could tell, from personal experience or simply my studies, if you want to listen, and if so, than say, please, but if you would prefer now to do most of the talking, my ears are open."

Steiner stopped, and stood in thought.

They had a point, Brahne HAD been acting strange lately...if she were told that Garnet was away in another country, she would doubtlessly declare war and invade...she HAD implied that to him earlier...and if indeed Garnet was in Amestris, and word got out about it, Garnet would be in danger, because of HIM!

...finally, he nodded.

"Agreed." he said. "But we MUST find her! I would gladly go, but one question remains! How will I get my leave of her majesty without causing suspicion and triggers such terrible events anyway?" he asked.

Zelda marveled. The Sage's Mask! Both her lineage and her study of the magics (which were more or less entwined, actually) brought her into contact with various types of lore concerning all manner of magical items, spells, rituals, etc., and she had heard of the Sage's Mask.

Slowly, she reached out and took it. Then concentrating, she put it on.

Alexandria Castle: Library

Tot gave a sigh of relief; now the Princess would be safe! Not to mention, he wouldn't be hanged. Although Garnet's safety was more important to Tot than his own.

"Relax Rusty! We'll find her. I promise!" Zidane nodded and beat his chest. "I may not look it, but I'm a man of my word. If I promise something, I'll either do it or die trying!"

On the issue of getting Steiner out of his duty... the always resourceful thief got another idea.

"Aside from being a man of my word, I'm also a member of Tantalus!" Zidane mentioned.

"The theater troupe? They're quite good." Tot mentioned. "Garnet's favorite!"

"Great! Then maybe she'll want my autograph... or just want me."Zidane grinned, but coughed after wards when Tot gave him another glare. "ANYWAY! I'll tell you how Brahne will let you go, Steiner... because you're going to be chasing after the kidnapper!"

Tot looked confused. (I imagine Steiner did too). Zidane explained...

(Vidit, I'll tell his plan in the discussion thread so as to spare the other's spoilers.)

Paladin Enclave

Garnet gasped and dropped her fork to the floor with a loud clang. She quickly flushed and picked up the silverware and the food bits, but as soon as she was finished, she looked back to Didymus in shock.

"O-Other summoners? The Yevon? ... I have never heard of them... no, but Doctor Tot... in his lessons he told me my summoning was not magic! He... no, Doctor Tot wasn't wrong... whoever the Yevonites are, they must have gotten their summoning in a different way!"

Garnet was getting worked up; she had actually stood. Slowly she sat back down... she could hear her heart beating and the blood rushing through her head. Doctor Tot could not have been wrong, could he?

'... No,' She thought. 'I can tell... I can just tell... the summons are here, with me now, even if I cannot call them... they are not just magic... they can't be...'

Slowly, she wound back down.

"... I am sorry. I let myself get carried away... it does not matter. Even if I could obtain my summons by going to Yevon... then I would be looking for magic, which your order forbids, and I would be on my own." Garnet said with a half-smile.

"We will go to Amestris... I must believe that my power is different from Yevon..."

Hyrule Castle: Throne Room

The Sage's Mask would cause the wearer to see a bright light coming from the person at whom they looked. A pink glow signified honesty, while a green shimmer showed deception.

While his clothes were certainly green, Link's heart was glowing pink. He had -- or at least, he truly believed he had -- killed Ganondorf.

((Okay! 5AM. I need sleep. And besides, I'm sure everyone else will be THRILLED to see so many new posts. XD Especially with the loooong one's I've been writing. I'm sorry, everybody!))

Central City Tavern

"Why am I here? I was born here. It's where I began my journey. And it has the best tavern I've seen yet." Nihlus said, though there was sorrow in his voice. Once more, he was keeping something secret. But it was his business. Why would they care anyway?

He finished his ale, and his yellow eyes narrowed. There was a paladin in here. He could sense the powers. In the corner was a teenager.

"Hmmm..." He murmured. He turned back to Edward and Al. "So, I suppose you two young alchemists are looking for the Philosopher's stone?"

I can't see what you're imagining
-Alexandria: Evil Forest-

“Nope!” Cess told Sam, shaking his head, “That’s all I know. Keyblades aren’t exactly my thing of study.”

“But for now…” Master Xehanort said, “We must hurry to the city. Who knows what villainous plots that thief is concocting with my Keyblade!”

-Alexandria: Library-

(You two have posted a lot!)

“Amestries, heh? I’ve been there before.”

In the doorway of the library were two figures, Sora and Kairi. Sora grinned and waved at everyone.

“Guards let us in…We wanted to help find Garnet too,” Sora explained, “We would have introduced ourselves earlier, but well…you guys were pretty excited with your discussion.”

Sora and Kairi stepped right into the library, “We want to help you guys. I may not look it, but I’m pretty good fighter, and Kairi’s a good healer, along with…Well, you know that mist stuff? She’s immune to that, actually…”

He looked at the knight and the actor/thief/over all kinda crazy guy, “If you’ll take us, we’ll help back you guys up.”

-Amestries: Tavern-

“Thank you,” Ansem said, taking a seat on the orb of air without hesitation. He trusted Sama with his life, and probably more then anyone else.

“I was here hoping that perhaps I could stop the war that’s coming, but it seems that I was mistaken. Perhaps I am growing to old for these things,” he took a deep breath, “Neither side winning would be good…The Alchemists win, and we see the birth of a military world…If the Paladins win, I fear they will one day stamp out all forms of magic and the like that’s different, no matter how noble their intentions are at first,” Ansem explained quietly to Sama. Crystal would hear it too, but Ansem knew that if he told Sama, it would be inevitable that she would end up hearing it too.

“As for your mission, I do have something quick. Sama, here in Amestries I hear of a young man from a distant land across the sea. He controls Fire, almost like a Bender, along with some other unseen force, but refers to himself as an Adept, and claims he uses Alchemy, but there are no circles,” Ansem said, “I believe he, and his friends, wherever they might be, could be valuable allies. If my information is correct, I’m certain he would be willing to help you in your mission.”
