Central City: Streets

"No no no no no!!" Crystal exclaimed, still running, jumping over any objects in her way to keep up with the floating boy. "Where in the-GAH- (she jumped over a stray crate)-- world is he going!?!?!"

“Hey!”

Suddenly Crystal's eyes widened and she turned around to throw up a massive ice wall. She had no clue if they were hostile or not but she was better not taking any chances, especially when Sama was defenseless and floting above the city. In a flash she continued forward.

"If you survive this i'm gonna KILL you Sama!!!"

“Wah!” Garet shouted, Psynergy forming around him. He held up his hands, and a burst of fire shot from them, destroying the ice wall, Garet continuing to chase after Crystal.

“I want to help!” Garet yelled, continuing the chase. “I'm an Adept too!”

Of course, he didn't know they were Benders, not Adepts.

[Central City: Streets]

Sama was out of control. His Avatar powers had taken over and he was now a flying, glowing boy streaking over rooftops. If anyone saw him, or if his other powers began manifesting themselves it could give them all away.

It would also attract the military. That would be bad.

“I’m sooooooooorrrrrrrry!” Sama called back down to Crystal as he flew. He suddenly noticed Garet and gasped aloud. “THAT’S HIM!” Sama pointed. “That’s the guy!”

Now Sama was a flying, glowing, yelling boy. That wouldn’t attract attention.

[Central City: Library]

Inside, Zidane moved quickly through the halls. The library was huge, and they did not even know what this book look liked. Still, Zidane had a feeling it would be in the restricted section where only Alchemists could go.

[Amestris Countryside]

Garnet looked to Didymus with a small smile.

"I am sorry about that... my only connection to the outside world was through plays, and in plays, everyone is always lovers. I suppose I have a lot to learn about how the world truly operates."

She gave as small shrug and continued walking.

“That’s the guy!”

Crystal looked back to where he was pointing and gasped. She turned, rushing to Garet, at the same time keeping an eye on Sama who was still in the sky.

"You're who we're looking for?!?! CRUD i'm sorry!- Come on' we gotta figure out a way to get him down!" Crystal then looked back at Sama.

"And YOU. STOP BEING OBVIOUS! Act like a cloud or something!"

This was really bad.

Central City, Amestris-military headquarters
(If my roommate wasn't trying to sleep, I'd be laughing out loud at this scene XD).

Hughes was looking over some reports.

"Alright..." he said. "These are good."

"Thank you, sir." Sheska replied.

"Now, why don't you..."

Suddenly, Sheska pointed at something outside the window.

"Lieutenant-colonel...?"

Hughes and Sheska both blinked.

"Sheska, take the day off! And tomorrow too!" Hughes quickly cried.

Sheska was surprised that the appearence of a glowing, flying object in the sky would give her a time off, but was glad for it.

"Um...thank you, sir...I-"

Hughes was gone.

Moments later, he burst into Roy's office.

"ROY! Something really weird is going on! A flying, glowing object...like...you...you remember the Bending Valley?"

He paused.

OH SHOOT.

It was undeniable now: Central was about to go on full alert. If the alleged "Demon of the Bending Valley" was here, the place would go into full panic as either the senior military staff fled as fast as they could, or hunkered down as tightly as they could.

(If you want to skip Mustang's involvement and just have his team appear on the scene or something, GS, go ahead.)

Amestris countryside

Didymus returned the smile.

"Perhaps you should be more careful, or speak with a bit more confidence, "Dagger". " he said.

"On that subject, if I may say so, I find myself..." he chuckled a bit "...charmed to pose as your lover. However, the idea that we're true lovers may seem a little far-fetched. I mean, you're not yet seventeen, and you more or less look it."

He quickly flushed. It was a rather ambiguous comment he had made.

"I mean, not to say that you look bad, you don't, in fact, you look very nice, it's just that, well, I meant it's just that-" he was somewhat babbling.

"...just that most people don't expect people as young as us-even though I AM considered "of age" myself, to be SERIOUS lovers. Of course, relationships, or attempts at them, they may well expect, and-"

Oh dear. Here he was giving a talk about teenager expectations to a girl who had spent her life in Alexandria's courts, accustomed to being expected to always act refined, elegant, and graceful.

And she was. Very much so. Wait, what?

Focus. Don't let this take you. he thought.

"ANYWAY...um...I suppose the question is, before we get to town, we should decide...is that "lovers/relationship" act going to be part of our "identities"? Or shall we scrap it? I leave it in your hands. But either way, we should be careful."

They were coming on the town now.

"I believe I am being warned..." he said (remember, Paladin) "...we may be in for...a trial, even here, in this town..."

Central City: Library

Steiner followed along after Zidane and co. He still didn't like this, though...

"How will we know where it is?" he asked.

Everything was insane, Garet was confused.

“Wait, what? Aren't you an Adept?” Garet wondered, “What's happening? Is his Psynergy going out of control?”

He looked to Sama, wondering what was happening.

“OHO?! What is this? Is someone in need of my majestic muscles?!”

Appearing in front of Crystal and Garet was a man who dwarfed even Garet's height, including the red head's hair.

He hadn't seem to have noticed Sama...for now.

And yes. He was shirtless. Again.

-Central City: Library-

Sora and Kairi followed Zidane. Kairi paused now and then to look at the titles on the shelves.

[Central City: Military HQ]

Mustang had been in the middle of a phone call when Hughes burst in. He was about to complain when Hughes mentioned the rather infamous incident. Mustang shot up at his desk immediately.

“WHAT? Are you sure?” Roy’s voice was hoarse suddenly and his eyes full of a serious glare. For once, Roy Mustang’s instincts were kicking in. There was a reason the man had become the commanding officer of Central’s security.

“Priority alert, Hughes. Alert all active personnel. All leave is cancelled immediately, call in the reserves, and get every State Alchemist in Central. Then alert the Fuhrer!”

Roy ran out of the office, pulling on his jacket.

[Amestris Countryside]

Garnet was not thinking about things quite as much as Didymus was; at least, not the same things.

“Thank you for the advice.” She told him, and she meant it.

She gave a small pause, thinking about their cover story for a moment.

“You have far more experience in these matters than I do… whatever you think is best I’ll go along with. So long as we get to Central.” Garnet decided.

[ Central City: Library]

Zidane ran towards a door at the very end of the hall. Behind it was where the most important tomes and books were kept. The secretive things that were forbidden from most of the public. If this book was as important as it seemed to be…

“Behind here! All we have to do is pop open this door and we’re home free. We lucked out; security seems lax. This should be a piece of cake.”

Zidane was unaware that security was about to be on high alert all over Central…

[Central City Streets]

Sama sweat dropped. Well, at least they had found Garet… though Crystal had a very good point. If he kept being so obvious, he would end up arrested, or dead. Or worst, he would enter the Avatar State fully and…

Then Armstrong showed up and Sama groaned. He was a big shirtless man with a shiny head offering to help a group of teenagers at night. He was obviously a creeper.

And then an alarm sounded somewhere.

(Isn't it actually morning/midday?)

Amestris town

"Very well, Dagger. And you're welcome." Didymus said.

"As for the cover story...I think it may be best to avoid such the lovers notion unless we're desperate."

He sighed, thinking this over.

"However...there may be a profile on us. We were met under suspicious circumstances, by mistrustful soldiers. They may have written down our descriptions, and such. With your comment, and my playing along with it...we don't need to FOCUS on it, but it seems that...well, we want to be consistent, right? So it seems that WILL be a part of our cover story, at least, that we are romantically involved somehow, even if not flat-out lovers...dear."

He chuckled, somewhat nervously. He was reluctant to add that to their cover story, but it made logical sense. If indeed there was a profile about them, now, they would have to keep the same story, or the gig would be up.

"But I only have a bit more experience traveling incognito." he continued. "I had to get to Alexandria to meet you without being revealed, yes, but otherwise, you were there for the return trip. There may have been times where I did not OPENLY state I was a Paladin templar a quest or two during my time as one...but we didn't particularly HIDE it, either. Again, apart from my adventures concerning you, I've not had much experience traveling seriously incognito myself."

They had almost arrived at the train station.

"Say..." he said. "...how about we DON'T take the next train to Central. Again...we may be being followed. I think I'm being told...I can feel something. Maybe we should wait a bit. Don't know if it will do that much good...but it's worth a try..." he said.

His eyes were constantly sweeping the crowd, looking to Dagger, sweeping the crowd a few more times, etc.

"So why don't we loiter in town for a bit, or even on the outskirts, outside the city limits? Again, it IS a nice day...and perhaps, if we hid, we may lose some of our pursuers...or gain some. Perhaps simply hiding in the city is the best option..."

He was clearly...somewhat on edge. And why not? They were in the middle of a hostile city, and the Amestris military could well be hunting them already...

Central City: Military HQ

"Yes sir!" Huges saluted, and ran off to carry out the orders, (stopping Sheska from goin home).

Messages were sent, State Alchimists were forming up in the HQ courtyard for assignment, infantry were grabbing their weapons and reporting to unit postions throughout the city (Amestris had a detailed plan in place for different kinds of attacks on Central City), and Bradley was notified.

Central City library

Steiner sighed. At least this would be over soon and without inci-

An alarm blared.

Steiner didn't know what else to do. He drew his sword.

"The price of crime!" he yelled at Zidane.

(I think Vivi's here as well.)

I can't see what you're imagining
(I thought it was still the middle of the day too. XD)

-Central City: Streets-

Galv, for the time being, was nowhere to be seen. He couldn't let his identity be known, being undercover.

Garet, however, cursed his luck. He wished he had those Catch Beads, but that belong to Isaac.

Maybe...?

Garet reached his hand upwards, focusing on his Psynergy. If another Adept were around, they would notice rings of energy appearing around him. To everyone else, they would see nothing.

Then, to Sama, since he was in his Avatar state, he'd probably see what looked like a large gloved hand appear, coming downwards to move him down to the street! Hopefully it would work!

-Central City: Library-

Sora's Keyblade appeared in a flash, and he paused, looking around.

“Wait, I have an idea!” Sora said, then pointed his Keyblade at the door to the forbidden area.

“Get in!” he said, pulling Kairi in with him. Once everyone was inside, he closed the door and pointed his Keyblade at it again. With a flash of light, it locked.

“There...They wouldn't think of looking in here. Only alchemists can get in, and it's locked, so why bother?” Sora said, explaining his reasoning.

KxS wasn't very happy when Garet ran off. She went out of the cafe to see him, Crystal, and Sama...she watched the Avatar fly out of control.

"Um...what's wrong with him?" she asked, looking toward Garet, who was holding up his hand. KxS raised an eyebrow.

God, pleeaaase don't tell me he's a weirdo... she thought to herself.

Central City: Alleyway

Unlike last time, Shimera's fingers started to glow. She snapped them, and everyone was wearing clothes that weren't suspicious.

She was now wearing a raggedy, brownish dress with a few tears in it. She smiled and giggled. "Here ya go! ...Ooo, such a pretty dress..." she commented, twirling around.

((XD It IS midday! I totally spaced on that last night. ^^; My last post was written when my brain had already gone to sleep without me.))

[Central City: Streets]

When the Psynergy hand clamped around him, Sama let out a little ‘meep’ and was quickly pulled to the ground. He shut his eyes for a moment and then opened them; and much to his relief he was no longer in the grip of a weird, disembodied hand.

He gave a sigh of relief… until he heard the alarm sirens blaring across town, and looked over to see Crystal and Garet both looking panicked. He also saw some other faces he did not recognize – and one very big, shirtless man who exuded a creeper vibe.

“… Okay, maybe this wasn’t my best idea.” He called to Crystal while scratching the back of his neck. He then looked at Garet.

“Ah! You’ve got to come with us! It’s really important… and we’ve gotta get out of here!”

[Central City: Library]

Vivi was starting to get worried about the entire thing. Zidane was someone he trusted, but at the same time they were in a very bad situation… and now they had locked themselves INSIDE the library.

“Um… I understand what you’re saying, but… if they do check this room, aren’t we kind of trapped?” Vivi said to Sora.

“We won’t be trapped for long!” Zidane turned and looked about the room, but then he frowned. No windows, and no apparently exits aside from the one they had just come in from.

He paused, and then looked to Vivi with a grin. Vivi sweat dropped, but Zidane whispered a few things in his ear. “… Okay? That’s the plan.”

“B-But…” Vivi was unsure.

Zidane shook his head, dismissing Vivi’s worries. Then he jumped up onto a bookshelf and looked over at Steiner.

“Before ya judge me, remember your princess is probably on her way here to do the exact same thing!” He reminded him.

[Amestris Town]

Garnet listened, but added very little to the conversation. The truth was she was worried that her slip up might prevent them from ever reaching Central’s library. Without the Summoner’s Tome…

She shook her head, lost in her doubts and worries. She looked to Didymus, about to say something when she noticed he was constantly scanning the crowd around them. She took a look around herself. Though, she did not know what she was looking for.

A train screeched to a halt at the station and several people poured out, while several others poured onto it. She hesitated, thinking about his suggestion. If they skipped the next train, they would have to wait at the station for a while… and if they did that…

She could not decide what the bigger risk was, and was not used to sharing her concerns with someone else… which was part of the reason it was difficult to talk right now.

“You decided what we do… I don’t think I should.” Garnet finally admitted.

Central City: Streets

Crystal let out a breath as Sama was pulled back to the ground, dropping without any harm befalling him. Crystal, stepped away from the shirtless stranger for a moment (who truthfully was creeping her out to high heavens) and rushed over to Sama, punching him in the arm.

"Dummy, look what you did!" she scolded "The military is probably on their way!"

The alarm was loud, and by the looks of it the big creepy shirtless guy COULD pose a threat when all the pink sparkles wore off....

Central City-Military HQ

Hughes quickly ran in. Sheska was on the phone, nervously trying to properly serve as operator to the many bits of communication which were now flying across the city-all passing through their HQ, of course.

"Roy!" Hughes said with a salute.

"Every State Alchemist in the city-except Armstrong and yourself-is formed up and awaiting your orders in the courtyard! And..."

Another man stepped in.

General Haruko (or however you spell that).

"Well, Mustang, you saved MY life. If that's any indication if your skill, I'm sure your the right man to handle this operation." he said. "However, I am curious as to how an enemy that was supposed to be dead got to Central without our intelligence network finding out..." his voice trailed off.

He had just complimented, and questioned Mustang within two sentences.

Central City Library

Steiner was taken aback.

"The princess would NEVER steal...a..." The knight's voice trailed off. What exactly DID Garnet intend to do here, anyway? Check the book out? That had to be it!

"She'd just check it out and copy all her notes! Or something! Read it here, perhaps! She's a fast reader!" he exclaimed. Anything but cast his princess in a theif's light.

"And what NOW?" he asked.

Amestris town

Didymus paused. The situation seemed ironic. Garnet, princess over a magic-embracing nation, essentially taking orders from a Paladin, practically.

He figured that some of Alexandria's senior court mages would feint and the notion.

However, Elder Cid's words echoed in his mind:

...you alone have earned the trust of Princess Garnet...

It was an honor, in fact. He wondered why she trusted him so much-possibly because he was an inexperienced, but nonetheless full-fledged Paladin. And he had at this point risked his life multiple times for hers. That builds trust.

"...let's wait." he said. "Not at the station, either, but in town. The next train leaves in a few hours. And we'll see if the trains on the way out here are waylaid. If so, we'll know they're looking for us...and we'll figure out where to go from there. If not, we'll purchase some tickets a bit before it leaves, so that...so that our pursuers here, if any, won't know what train we'll be on until just a small amount of time before said train, and us with it, are out of here, at earliest..."

The pressure. Garnet was the essentially Alexandria's last chance for peace. If something happened to her, Galdwin would have to go to war with or destabilize Alexandria, and loss of life on both sides, in addition to what would occur with Amestris...

...the pressure was on.

He took a deep breath.

"Alright." he said. "Does that sound good with you? Even if I am to be our decision maker, I value your input...I mean, you DID form a plan to escape Alexandria Castle unnoticed, didn't you? Or was that your tutor's work? Either way, come along, if you like, and let us find a place outside the train station to sit down, or something."

“Hmmm...” Armstrong paused, somehow having reacquired his shirt. He had just seen Sama being pulled to the ground by an unseen force.

Armstrong, despite his appearance, was quite intelligent.

“Could this young boy truly be that demon?” Armstrong thought to himself, looking at the children, thinking on what to do. He knew it was his duty to apprehend them, but Armstrong couldn't simply attack children.

“Alarms!” Armstrong then shouted, and clapped an arm down on Sama's shoulder, “You children should find a safe spot! It seems some villainous force has infiltrated the city, and as a State Alchemist I can not in good conscience let young ones be caught up in the cross fire!”

The Alchemist then turned his back to them, “Quickly, I shall make sure no villains come!”

Garet paused, a little drained after using that much Psynergy to pull Sama down, but glanced to Sama, Crystal, and Kxs.

“We...better go then, right?” he said.

-Central City Library-

“Why would they check it though? Not like a Keyblade is common. There's no sign that the door was forced open,” Sora shrugged, “Let's find that book though!”

-Central City: Alleyway-

“Wonder what those alarms are about...” Cess muttered, thinking to himself. He stepped out into the streets, “Alright, we better head off. Gotta find that guy with a key...and food.”
