[Cid’s Airship] Yuna led Didymus and Sora aside, into one of the smaller rooms on the ship. She stood to one side of the room, looking out of the window for a moment, before turning to the two. “… Everything we have done up until now was just the prelude. The battles we have fought, the enemies we have faced… none of it even begins to compare to what has to happen next. We must go to Alexandria and I must exert my right to rule… then we must end a war and expose this conspiracy.” She paused. “This is the moment of truth for us… if we fail now, then peace will be lost. I know we have had many challenges, but I must ask you both to stand with me in this moment. If we can show the world that we are united, perhaps we can unite our nations in peace…” [Flashback: Besaid] As the beast charged at Yuna, she gasped and threw up her arms. “Protect!” She shouted, and in a glimmer of silver, a magical barrier surrounded her body, keeping her safe – at least for a moment – from the monster. |

Cid's Airship Didymus listened as Garnet spoke, and nodded. "Lady Garnet, you already know my mission...that it's not just given to me, I believe, by nation and Order..." He paused. "I do believe I have orders from the Highest. Stand by you, until such time as this quest is ended, and Alexandria released from the thrall of the dark conspiracy we seem to be uncovering..." He looked her in the eyes, and tried to muster a warm smile. "As I've said before, my life for yours, should it come to it." Flashback: Besaid Island Didymus looked, and Yuna had appearently used some enchantment to protect herself... The beast didn't seem to care, it just kept raging at Yuna, and Didymus, for his part, charged at it, and from behind, drove his blade into it, impaling/reverse impaling it! It cried out, thrashed, and, finally, ceased to move. Didymus withdrew his sword. "Are you alright?" he asked. "...is your bodyguard?" he continued, looking around. |

[Cid’s Airship] Garnet gave a small smile, but looked away. She really wasn’t sure what to say to all of this. “I… thank you.” She said quietly, still looking down at the floor as if it had become the most exciting thing in the world. “Still, I wonder what we are supposed to do next. Perhaps we should return to Galdwin and plan how I can prove I did not kill mother…” She trailed off, saddened and confused by the memories of what happened in Alexandria. “I have a much better idea, if you’ll permit it, Madam Summoner.” With no real warning, an Old man with white mage robes and a great staff appeared in the airship. He had certainly not been there before. Garnet gasped and looked over to him. She recognized him from a book she had once read about summoning. “Ramuh! The Sage of Thunder…” Garnet’s eyes widened. “Hahahaha, it is a pleasure to be recognized, Madam Summoner! Indeed… I am the Sage of Thunder. One of the great Summons of Thunder… I am also the one who advised your and Yuna’s ancestors, when the Summoning Tribe was a major power in the world… now, if you’ll permit it, I would like to advise you as well.” Garnet nodded eagerly. “That… yes, please…” Ramuh stroked his long beard. “Excellent! Hahahah… in that case… come with me! I wish to show you something.” Without warning, Ramuh placed his hand on Garnet’s head, and with a great flash of lightning and the roar of thunder, he and Garnet vanished! [Flashback: Besaid] Yuna was breathing heavy as she watched the beast fall. She lowered her protective spell, and rushed over to Didymus. “I am fine… but where is Kimhari?” |

I can't see what you're imagining

-Cid's Airship- “...You have my key...” Sora told Garnet, nodding, “We have to do whatever we can to stop this evil...” Then a strange Sage of Thunder appeared, and Garnet was gone! “That was...weird...” -Ankh-Morpork- Patrician's Palace- Veternari just nodded to Sama, then held up his hand, Drumknott appearing from the shadows. “Contact our representatives in the various countries. Inform them of this meeting, and to contact the leaders. If they need transportation of a speedy variety, tell them Ankh-Morpork can provide,” Veternari said. Drumknott nodded, then disappeared, off to deliver the messages. Streets “Back in Ankh-Morpork...” Cess muttered, then glanced to Shimera, blushing slightly, “This is where the trail leads...” The Mended Drum Xehanort leaned back in his chair, staring at those who now followed him, smiling softly. “Something will happen here soon...then...we can strike...” -Central Streets- “Come on, we should find somewhere safe,” Angua said to Edward, Al, Galv, Melanie, and Carrot, “Do you two have somewhere in mind?” She turned to the two alchemists, frowning. |

[Ankh-Morpork] Patrician’s Palace Sama let loose a sigh of relief. This might actually work… they could actually have success in brokering peace! “Oh, you should know, I already spoke to Fuhrer Mustang of Amestres…” Sama said to Veternari, rubbing his shoulder and remembering the scars from both the sword and the flames… Unknown to those in the room, Ramuh and Garnet appeared – in a sense. They were not really there, just a magical imprint of them. “Behold, Madam Summoner! The boy is the Avatar… and the man is Veternari, ruler of Ankh-Morpork. They are hatching a plan for peace talks here. Undoubtedly, the evils behind the scenes will try to sabotage it… this is where you must go, Madam Summoner. Go and represent Alexandria… if you want peace, this is your chance.” And then, they were gone. [Central Streets] Ed frowned back to Angua. He wasn’t sure where they could go… “… Well… there IS one place we could go… there’s an abandoned butcher shop here in town. The owner is someone Al and I know, but she’s never there, she works out of a different shop in her hometown, so it should be empty for us.” Ha… |

Cid's Airship Didymus watched Garnet intently, and when she stared at the floor, he found himself once again reflecting on all that she was probably going through. "I don't know where we're headed now...I think back to the mainland, but come to think of it, I think there may have been busniess Yuna wanted to attend to, but she also wanted to help with the busniess on the continent, but...again, I don't know where we're headed to...I should probably go ask." But then, Rahmah appeared. He had read about this creature, not as much as Garnet, of course, but still, some...another summon. He was wary, as always, but tried to appear cordial and respectful...he was wary, but such was often his nature. But he was also curious... But when Rahmah reached for Garnet, his hand flew to his sword, and he stepped forward-too late. Garnet was gone! Along with Rahmah! "W-WHAT THE?! What happened? Where is she? Where did they go?!" He looked around frantically. "I..." He paused, took a deep breath, was quiet for a bit. Finally, he spoke. "We have to find her, Sora. Search this ship." He looked around. "And if you can hear me, summon, if you're still here or listening...I don't know what you're doing with her, but if you are truly her ally, and friend of all peoples...bring her back." Didymus was trying his best to be calm, but...bad things tended to happen when he let Garnet out of his sight. ...alright, that may not have been true 100% of the time, but ever since Ankh-Morpork he had tried to keep a closer eye on her... He hoped he had no cause for alarm or concern, but Garnet was suddenly gone-that was cause enough, perhaps for concern, if not also alarm. Flashback-Besaid Island “I am fine… but where is Kimhari?” The girl's bodyguard. Didymus looked around. "I thought I saw him doing well against a monster or two...but obviously, I couldn't keep watching..." He glanced about. "I don't hear any more fighting..." He raised his blade, and stepped a bit closer to Yuna, looking outward from her and around. "Maybe it's not over..." |

[Cid’s Airship] With another crash of thunder and the blinding flash of lightning, Ramuh and Garnet reappeared on the ship, exactly where they had been before. Garnet was shaking a bit – traveling like that, becoming invisible… it was all quite intimidating. “That…” Garnet paused, shaking her head. “We have to go there… Ankh-Morpork.” She paused, noticing Sora and a very concerned looking Didymus. She rushed past them, running into the pilot’s room. “Cid! Please, sir, take us to Ankh-Morpork!” Garnet called. “Eh? … Didn’t we come from there…?” [Flashback – Besaid] It wasn’t over. Kimhari was suddenly thrown back, knocked into the grass and bleeding. A massive crocodile-like monster crawled out of the water, roaring and rushing towards them! |

Cid's Airship Garnet reappeared-at least, it seemed like her, and Didymus was unaware of anything unusual about her... And she suddenly ran off. Well, she DID do that sometimes... Didymus ran after her. “Cid! Please, sir, take us to Ankh-Morpork!” “Eh? … Didn’t we come from there…?” "I think we left from Treno...then came to the Cluster..." Didymus said. "And Lady Garnet, what's going on? What happened? And...if you'd pardon the security precaution...could I ask you a question? Just to make sure you're the real Garnet?" He hesitated. If this WAS Garnet, he hated to do this to her...but he wanted to be absolutely sure this wasn't some elaborate trick. Circumstances being what they were, these kind of precautions were justified. "I mean, I'm sorry, but...please? For my own peace of mind if nothing else?" he paused, and was quiet for a bit, looking at her intently. Flashback-Besaid Island When the monster appeared and rushed toward them, Didymus had to react. As the monster charged, Didymus was quiet for a quick moment, taking a deep breath. He then charged back at the monster, sword out! |

-Cid's Airship- “Ankh-Morpork? Last time we were there, we got attacked by some flying mage thing...” Sora muttered, as Garnet reappeared, directing them there. -Ankh-Morpork- Veternari raised an eyebrow at the flash of the summon and Garnet, then made a note to talk to the wizards about that later. “Well then, it'll be some time before this summit,” Veternari said, “Why don't you all look around the city. If you need lodgings, return to the palace. I'll find something for you...” -Central Streets- “Then let's go,” Carrot said, “We can figure out what to do from there.” Angua sniffed the air, looking around. “Yah...let's just be careful. Ever since I've been here, the air just doesn't...smell right...” Galv frowned, clutching Melanie's hand tightly, hoping this potion would wear off... |

[Cid’s Airship] “I remember,” Garnet said to Sora with a frown. “It was that night that we met those Benders. We stayed at that little Inn… that was actually a pleasant night, aside from the Black Waltz… I enjoyed talking to Kairi and Crystal.” She then turned to Didymus. “I would hope you wouldn’t need to question me, especially after I’ve just shared that memory. Sir Didymus, I know how you feel about magic, but it is a part of my heritage… Ramuh here has given us a great clue on our journey, and we should thank him, not treat him with suspicious…” She frowned, and looked to the elderly wizard. “I apologize, Ramuh.” “Hahahaha… no need, no need. I’ve been around the block before. Trust me, I’ve dealt with all sorts. Paladins, Alchemists… bah! Always decrying this, or trying to tell me that magic is just science… imagine, some pompous alchemist lecturing ME! You don’t become a summon by chance, I’ll have you know.” It looked like Ramuh was going to go on a tangent. We’ll check in with him later. [Ankh-Morpork] “Thank you, Veternari.” Sama said, bowing to him. Sama had felt a strange presence in the room a moment ago. Though Ramuh had masked his and Garnet’s astral projection from most, Sama was especially susceptible to unusual things like that. He headed out of the room, beaming. For once, he was confident that things were going the way they were supposed to! “Hey, Crystal!” He ran over to his old friend. “We have some time before the summit, want to hit the town?” [Central Streets] “Great, follow us!” Ed called to the group, heading off quickly down the road. [Butcher Shop] Once they arrived, Ed clapped his hands and then in a flash of blue lightning, he transformed one of his fingers into a key so that he could unlock the door. Throwing it open, the young alchemist rushed into the shop. “We should be safe he—GAH!” Ed was kicked in the face. “Who the hell said you could come barging into my store? Or has your time serving as a dog for the state made you forget common courtesy!?” A short, muscular woman with dreadlocks and sandals stood in the room. “T-T-Teacher!” Al frowned, suddenly shivering. |

Cid's Airship "...I was actually going to ask what the name of said in was, Lady Garnet, but you seem to have recalled in enough detail the events of that night, so I suppose that's unnecessary...as for magic..." He paused. "...well, yes, my stance upon the issue is no secret...but..." He looked to Ramuh. "...I don't know what precisely it is that summons are. Of course, I imagine that you would know more of this than I would...but what I've seen and felt has led me to think that they're a variety of beings-I'm not sure "magical" is the word I would use to describe them...but whether it be magic or some other power they wield or even a combination of the two depending on the summon or whatever, that wasn't the reason per se that I was so suspicious..." He paused, looking to both of Garnet and Rahmuh. "Again, I'm sorry, I meant no offense. It's simply that often, when I so much as let you out of my sight, Lady Garnet...bad things happen. Sora brought up a good point; when we were in Ankh-Morpork, we got attacked by a black waltz, and you almost got kidnapped...it's just I wished to take every precaution..." He regarded the summon again. "...with that being said, whatever the true nature and my stance on the power you used to help us, thank you for giving the lady comfort and direction. It is good that she can find counsel in these times. And on that subject!" He looked around-at Garnet, Rahmuh, Sora, Cid, and whoever else was there. "What IS our next move, therefore? Shall we proceed to Ankh-Morpork, or do we have any other busniess to which we must attend before that?" Flashback-Besaid Island When the monster appeared and rushed toward them, Didymus had to react. As the monster charged, Didymus was quiet for a quick moment, taking a deep breath. He then charged back at the monster, sword out! |

[Cid’s Airship] Ramuh paused, floating for a moment and strumming his extremely long beard. After a moment, he gave a little laugh. “No offense registered. I could stand here and tell you precisely what summons are and how a creature – or especially powerful person – becomes one, but… well, you’re not a summoner, so I’m afraid telling you is absolutely out of the question. Same goes for you, key-boy.” Ramuh clapped his hands together. “Anyway, my work here is done! Princess, if you need me, you know what you do.” He vanished in a flash of lightning! Garnet meanwhile paused, thinking mostly about what their next move should be. It seemed pretty obvious… “We have to go to Ankh-Morpork. I don’t know what is waiting for us there, or if this summit can really change anything… but it’s worth a shot. If there is even a chance of ending this war through diplomacy, we have to take it.” Always the idealistic, Garnet was wondering if perhaps she could avoid bloodshed this way… but could non-violent negotiations stop Maleficent? [Flashback: Besaid] The crocodile monster around suddenly, flashing its tail and trying to knock Didymus down! |

Cid's Airship When Ramuh paused, Didymus chuckled. "I think I may be starting to like this guy. Heck, I think I'm liking a lot of your summons, Lady Garnet. That green...mouse...fox...thing...who said the same thing that this guy did when I asked about summons was cute. And that bird creature that caught you and dropped you...into my...arms...um, yes, obviously, it gained a bit of my favor in that act...you know, saving your life..." He paused. "...anyway! This sounds like a plan. I doubt that diplomacy will prevent all bloodshed yet to come, but...the main reason I'm even here was because we thought that some bloodshed could be spared with your protection, whatever course of action you pursued, Lady Garnet. If there truly is no difference of opinion..." "Then we shall follow you, as always, and we shall go to Ankh-Morpork once more!" Steiner, who had just entered the room, declared. "Unless there is anything anyone else wishes to say, I would speak with you, princess." Steiner said. "But at your convenience. It is not a pressing matter." Didymus paused. "I don't know if this is a good time to bring this up...but...Destiny Island looked like a peaceful, nice place to live. Sort of like Galdwin, or at least the parts of it I've grown up in-at least, sort of like in that it was peaceful and quiet. I would like to offer my condolences on what was unfolding..." Flashback: Besaid The monster's tail flung around, smacking into Didymus, and he stumbled forward-but at the same time, thrust his sword out, attempting to stab into the nose and face of the creature and into its brain! |

Ankh-Morpork -Streets- The star-maiden nodded at Cess. "Okie-dokie," she replied with optimism. Her feet were sore from having to walk instead of float. She was deathly afraid that she may have gotten blisters on her feet, but she didn't complain. -The Mended Drum- KxS sat at a table. She was wondering when she was really going to help someone, and not just fight off scary-looking mutant werewolves. She looked at her hands, making claws grow out, retract, and grow out again. She was rather enjoying being able to control her wolf form, but her instincts were running wild. Was she really supposed to be doing this? KxS shrugged mentally as she watched her claws. Things will be just fine! |

[Cid’s Airship] “If I push ‘er for all she’s got, we can be in Ankh-Morpork before morning. You’ll know when we get there.” Cid headed off towards the control room to get the ship moving. Garnet, meanwhile, nodded to Didymus. “Very well. We can speak now if you desire…” [Flashback: Besaid] The crocodile’s face was stabbed, but it was not killed – instead it was pissed off. It opened its jaws and tried to snap down on Didymus! |
