Train to Treno

While everyone else in the train compartment was silent, Rikku was looking around at everyone, growing more and more frustrated.

"Oooo-OOOOHH!!!" the blonde-haired girl suddenly yelled out, "You all are being way too quiet!! Train rides might be boring, but that doesn't mean everyone needs to be silent and not try to have fun talking about stuff!" She stood up shaking her finger at everyone to emphasis her point, at least until a bumpy section of the track caused her to fall back into her seat.

Train to Treno

Yuna was deep in thought. She had, after all, abandoned her duties and left her country and come all the way to the mainland, to search for a castle she had never before visited because of a dream. It sounded crazier and crazier as she thought about it; but whenever doubts crept in, memories of how hauntingly real that dream was pushed them away.

Suddenly, she was shook back into reality by her cousin's antics. Yuna gave a small laugh. She never really was the outgoing one, and had a hard time being 'interesting' in situations like this.

Central City: Inn

Sama was beaming. He had a good feeling about the new day, and all it promised. He still had no clue how to find this mysterious firebender, but he really didn't let that bother him.

"Hmm... if I was a firebender, where would I be? ... Wait, but I can firebend, so that question doesn't even make sense..." He was pacing back and forth, trying to figure out where to begin the search.

He paused. "Maybe we could look for him at a cafe, while getting breakfast?" He gave a grin. Nope, that wasn't just the suggestion of a hungry man. Not at all.

The Red Rose

Garland gave a grin, which was once more hidden behind his helmet. Crossing his arms, the knight shook his head.

"Calling the Queen's decisions strange is not judging her? The insolence in knights these days..." He was mocking her, evident from his tone of voice.

"As to your question... I don't have to explain myself to you." Garland's voice became much colder, dangerous almost. "If you value your position, you won't question me again."

He turned and walked away from her, moving over to the Queen's side.

Paladin Airship

Dagger shook her head.

"I wasn't trying to give you any orders... I'm sorry..."

She stood and walked over to the edge of the airship, looking over into the clear blue skies around them. She could not have responded to everything he said; her mind was far too full and the weights on her heart too heavy.

The truth was, Dagger had a sinking feeling. She had been fine earlier, but in the last several minutes she felt as if something cold and horrible was staring at her, and she seemed a loss at composing herself.

She wrote it off as nervousness, but she had not felt like this during her flee from Alexandria, or during her stay at the Enclave.

[...]

Dagger was wrong; it was not her nerves and it was not her imagination. She was being watched by something cold and terrible. Something small, yet monstrous was following the airship...

Train to Treno

The train hurried along, but those who knew the land, Yuna, Rikku, Isaac, and Mia may have noticed, were looking south uneasily.

Soon enough, it appeared. Off in the distance, miles away, it looked like a cluster of military vehicles. Not just trucks, but massive artillery cannons, surrounded by defenses, blasting away at some distant targets, which were in fact Galdwinian army positions just across the border.

However, although the main front was too far away from the train to be seen, really, and the Amestris artillery position would have blocked the view anyway, there was something else that the passengers would have been able to make out as well:

A flotilla of Galdwinian metal-clad airships. Small flashes (to those observing from the train) appeared by the comparative dots that they appeared to be from the train, showing that they were firing away as well.

Around the Amestris artillery position, occasionally an area of ground would explode, sending dirt and mud flying everywhere and leaving a large crater in its wake.

Galdwin's artillery was returning fire.

Suddenly, near one of the artillery guns, a pile of shells exploded in a fireball quite visible even from the train, destroying the gun it was next to as well as claiming the lives of the artillery crew in the area.

A Yevonite would doubtlessly take such a scene as evidence of why machine weapons should be banned.

The train was approaching a station. It wasn't at Treno yet, but this was a small rural stop along the way.

However, by the looks of things, it was an Amestris military camp. Around the small station, all sorts of tents had been put up, and Amestris soldiers were everywhere.

As the train pulled in and stopped, some of the soldiers boarded it. Many were carrying stretchers, themselves laden with men sporting all sorts of terrible wounds, although mostly just bullet ones.

Amestris was using the train to get their wounded away from the front.

However, into the compartments in which Yuna, Rikku, Isaac, and Mia were travelling stepped two Amestris officers, clearly NOT wounded, looking over the passengers.

Yuna had rented the compartments for privacy, but the officers were not interested in the privacy of the train's passangers. They opened the door, and stepped in, regarding the occupants.

One whispered to another, both of them regarding Rikku, and among other things, a few discernible words would have been "ranger", "obvious", "too accurate" and "worth a look", in that order.

"I'm sorry." one of them said to Rikku.

"Could you step outside the train with us for a moment?" he asked.

The Red Rose

(Don't know if you want this scene to go on or not, Sama, but you can end it if you like...)

Beatrix scoffed. Garland had a point. She could do little against him without some major slip on his part, as he seemed to be Brahne's only favored adviser recently.

To address Garland's first response to her, she was actually going to make a metaphor involving Paladins. She wanted to see his response when THEY were brought up around him (even she didn't particularly like them, but respected them well enough).

However, he retreated to Brahne's side before she could respond. And she DID value her position...somewhat. Actually, she cared little for maintaining it as long as she did what it called for while holding it...but therein laid the problem.

She was Alexandria's most highest-ranked general! It was her duty to keep watch over the military situation her country was in...and in her opinion, it was getting worse and worse. A nation with a history of aggression had been granted free passage in their lands, and relations with their historical ally which had the strength to match Amestris had become sour, thanks to the queen's favored adviser.

She was in quite a mess. However, she had sworn fealty to Alexandria's throne, and as Brahne was the one currently occupying that throne...

...approaching Brahne herself, she gave a salute.

"My queen..." she said. "...our course you detailed is being maintained...but might I ask where, exactly, you wish to go? I did not have the chance to view your planned route last night."

Even SHE was beginning to fear talking to Brahne, a small amount. But she had made no suggestion. She had not said anything insulting, contradictory to Brahne's orders, or anything of that sort. The course that they were on was not presented to her, and Brahne had retired before she could ask where they were going...so no harm in what she had just said....right?

Ranger airship

Didymus shook his head, trying to keep smiling at an increasingly forlorn, it seemed, Dagger.

"Don't worry, l-Dagger-excuse me again." he said. "Just know what I stand, I suppose. And where you stand, if you can. But if indeed you wish to stand at all, you may wish to eat something so as to maintain the strength to do so." he said with a small grin, taking some bread out of the bag and holding it out to her again.

The "crew" aboard the small airship consisted of four Galdwin Rangers, one at the helm and navigating, one as their captain, and two more filling in wherever needed. Currently, one was at the bow, the other at the stern, each looking through some telescopes and keeping watch over their surroundings, and whatever was below us.

One noticed something behind them...

-Central City: Sweet Shop (Last Night-

Garet's face fell, looking at the man. He paused, then looked about at the food.

His stomach growled.

“On second thought...I'm not that hungry...” Garet said, inching back to the door. His stomach gave another loud protest, but soon he was out the door and racing down the street...

Soon, he'd find the inn he had stayed in the night in, the owner just caring that his money was gold, even if an unknown currency.

-Central City: Unassuming Inn-

Galv came out of his own room, having heard Sama and Crystal talking. He didn't hear the beginning of their conversation, but only Sama's suggestion of getting something to eat.

“It is always best to be refreshed...” Galv said, “That sounds like an idea...”

Another door opened, and the spikey haired Garet stepped out, clumsily placing his sword on his back and shuffling past the three with a yawn, his stomach still protesting for food...Hopefully this inn served breakfast.

Galv paused...Garet's aura seemed...odd. It was similar to that of Benders, but different. Slightly more, controlled, then the wild energies that Benders seemed to use...

-Outside Central City-

“Alright, so we go to this library and seem if we can find her...Does anyone here know what exactly she's looking for there though? If we can find that, then it should it easier to find her,” Sora suggested, glancing towards the group.

"Are you seriously thinking about food right now" Rose asked, trying to look serious but failing as her own stomach let out a low growl. She looked down at her own stomach and laughed embarrassingly. "Okay so maybe food is a good idea" She then noticed Galv venturing over. Crystal smiled and greeted the boy.

"Good morning Galv"

“It is always best to be refreshed...” Galv said, “That sounds like an idea...”

"So then it's unanimous, time for some food!"

Youswell: Yoki's Mansion

Eva looked at the messy stack of papers in Winry's hands wondering what they were initally. As she continued speaking it quickly became apparent that they were letters from the infamous Edward and Alphonse..Eva ignored the coolness of it and focused on the information within the letters.

"So the info in the letters and what we see dont add up...You'd think it would take quite awhile for a town to get in this state...So either they were blind or Youswell has really gone downhill..."

Eva placed a finger to her chin and thought "perhaps someone here will know what happened...Maybe it was some sort of accident...This much soot might have come from some sort of big explosion or something...."

"... Wait... in this letter, Ed says the Commander of Youswell is a man named Bosch... but we're meeting with a Yoki... I have a bad feeling about all this."

"Well that doesn't sound good...."

((Sorry I haven't posted in a bit! Between work, skype, work, SK&WS and work I've been a bit busy. ^^;))

Central City: Inn

Sama grinned happily at the food consensus. There was no better way to start a search for a stranger than with a good meal! It was a motto that may not have made sense, but he sure liked it anyway.

He paused as Garet walked by, though. Like Galv, he could sense energy too and he also felt Garet powers. He rubbed his chin.

"That guy... he's a bender or something..." He paused, and then grinned. "But his energy's too weird; he's not the guy we're after. Too bad, that would have been easy. Well, come on, off to breakfast!"

Train to Treno

"Hold on!" Yuna jumped up, getting in the soldier's face. "What is going on? These are private compartments, and we've done nothing wrong! Leave us be!"

The young girl may have looked rather ordinary and unassuming, and she did not like conflict... she was here for a reason, and nothing would stand in her way.

Outside Central City

Zidane shrugged his shoulders. "All we know is it's a book. I'm afraid the old guy back at Alexandria wasn't too specific."

The Red Rose

Garland watched Beatrix. The knight was up to something, that much was evident. Still, she was merely an insignificant spec compared to everything he had planned.

Brahne gave a grumpy grunt and shook her head. She looked to Beatrix and narrowed her eyes. "Isn't it obvious? To find the Princess! That's the point to all of this!"

Garland stepped forward. He did not like Brahne being talked to by others. He wanted to make sure no one influenced her... aside from him, that was.

"You will be told the destination when it is time to land. Until then, continue on the course plotted." Garland seemed to enjoy trying to provoke her.

Though, truth was, their exact destination was not yet know.

(Sorry, I'll update the other scenes later. >_> I'm kind of brain dead right now)

Crystal-- not noticing Garet like Galv and Sama--lead the way to finding a place to eat a decent breakfast. She didn't know too many places in the city but the water bender did know when they passed a good place to eat there would be a great smell.

Suddenly a great smell floated by, something warm....and sugary....And perfect!

"Mmmmmm" She pointed forward "This way boys!"

(Do what you can, GS. Hope you can update the other scenes soon, too.)

Train to Treno

The soldier was not intimidated by Yuna. One must admit, she did not come off as particularly threatening (not at first glance, at any rate).

He narrowed his eyes at her.

"I don't care about the privacy of these compartments. If you didn't notice, there's a war on, and spies from Galdwin would have a pretty easy time slipping by us if all they had to do was rent a private box. And sure, you may claim you're innocent...but the recent Galdwinian counter-artillery fire on our own artillery has been FAR too accurate. They've got to have scouts relaying information back to them...and your friend there-" he pointed at Rikku-"is dressed a LOT like a Galdwinian Ranger! Granted, I wouldn't think that they'd allow a woman into their Ranger Corps...but maybe that's the point!"

He took a moment to let his words sink in.

"Granted, the rest of you don't LOOK like Galdwinians...so unless you want to get involved in this war yourselves, I suggest you step aside and let us check your friend." he said.

Outside Central City

Steiner paused.

"Wait..."he said."...you mean...you didn't steal the other copy? And we don't know what it is? So our only option is to hope that the princess hasn't come and gone yet, keep watch over the library all day, every day, then, unless we basically kidnap her, find and steal this SINGLE tome from this library OURSELVES?!"

He actually, slowly, facepalmed.

"What have I done...?" he mourned out loud.

The Red Rose

Beatrix hesitated, looking as though she would say something for a moment, but then thought better of it.

"...very well." she said.

A sad day where my queen does not even tell her senior general where she has ordered her to go. she thought, then proceeded to the bow of the ship. She could at least see where they were, and what direction they were going, for herself.

Central City

It just so happened, that the cafe Crystal had smelled, Sheska was currently sitting, in uniform, getting some breakfast before reporting to Mustang-as Hughes was currently away-for her daily assignments.

Youswell: Yoki's Mansion

Winry had a bad feeling too. Those bad feelings were about to be proven right.

At the end of the hallway, a door opened and a tall man walked out. Like everyone else in the building, he wore the Amestris blues. On his head, what little hair he had, was slicked back with gobs of oil. He had a thin mustache and small eyes. There was an air of snobbishness about him.

He walked right past Winry and Eva without giving them a second glance; until one of his advisers who walked behind him leaned over and whispered to him. Yoki paused and then turned back to the girls.

"... I'm told you wanted to speak with me?" Yoki asked, raising a thin eyebrow.

Winry was a bit taken aback. She was no fan of the Amestris military, having grown up hearing her grandmother's horror stories. She was told that many officers were corrupt -- and Yoki seemed to be the poster boy for that corruption.

"My name is Winry Rockbell... this is Eva --"

Yoki cut her off in mid-sentence. "Girl, if I cared what your name was, I'd have asked for it. The only reason I'm even entertaining the notion of talking to you is because Lyra let you in, though I can't for a moment see why."

Now, Winry Rockbell was a sweet girl who could be a friend to just about anyone. Still, she had a temper. It usually took Ed's idiocy to bring it to the surface, but in a case like this Yoki would do.

"Now I see why this village is in such bad shape -- you're nothing but a self-serving jerk who couldn't care less about anyone else! You're supposed to be here to make the lives better for Youswell, not worse!"

Yoki blinked his eyes. He seemed surprised that anyone would speak to him that way!

Yoki suddenly turned his eyes on Eva. "And do you agree that I've done a bad job in Youswell, girl?"

There was a kind of 'do-you-dare-defy-me?' look in his eyes.

Train to Treno

Yuna refused to move. She was not an intimidating woman, but she certainly could handle herself. Despite the corruption of Bradley, Amestris' soldiers were some of the finest in the world. Well trained and well equipped.

Yuna could easily make mince-meat out of the lot of them, but... that would draw too much attention. She looked to Rikku, and then back to the soldier.

"She is my cousin, and we're not from your country or Galdwin, nor do we have any interest in your wars! We are simply wanting to visit friends in Alexandria, now leave us be!"

Yuna was going to lie. She could have told them she was the High Summoner of the Spirian Cluster, but then they might be even more suspicious. Besides, she did not need to drag her own island into the political matters of the fools on the mainland.

Outside Central City

Zidane shook his head. "Geez Steiner, I knew your armor was rusty, but is your brain rusted too?"

The thief had a special way of being irritating. Vivi winced; he knew Zidane could be rather blunt and downright rude, but he also knew Zidane was as skilled as any.

"Your Princess hasn't been here yet." Zidane shook his head. "You're a knight -- at least, you say you are -- if someone broke into Alexandria Castle and stole something of great value, would you have lax security afterwords?"

Vivi blinked. "But how do you know the security is lax at the library?"

Zidsane shook his head. "Cause it's lax at the gates to their city," Zidane pointed at the gates up ahead. "If someone stole something from their library, they'd have all the entrances of the city on alert. Of course, a good thief would know to avoid the entrances anyway, but I digress... the point is if we stop chatting and start moving, we'll find the library and then we just gotta wait for your princess to show!"

The Red Rose

Beatrix may recognize the direction they traveled as the one that would take them to Amestris.

As it happened, Garland had a good idea where Garnet would go. He knew who Garnet truly was, and he knew that she was curious about her past. After all, Garland had been the one to find the abandon baby and present her to Brahne as a daughter... even if that had been a lifetime ago.

Central City: Road to Cafe

Sama hardly needed to be told twice! The smell had reached him too, and it was a delicious one. So he followed Crystal, hoping that their destination would taste as good as it smelled.

Mission? Bender? He wasn't thinking about that stuff anymore.

Nor was he paying attention as they arrived, for he completely missed seeing the girl from last night!

Ranger Airship

Garnet gave a weak smile and accepted the bread. Perhaps she was overdoing it with the maps and the planning... but they talking about breaking into one of the world's most heavily guarded cities!

Not to mention that on her last trip, she was attacked by the Fuhrer of Amestris himself!

While she ate, the creature beneath the airship had been seen.

Posted Image

The creature suddenly bolted up with speed that rivaled the Ranger ship's top speed.

It landed on the deck, a few feet from Didymus and Garnet. Garnet gasped.

"Princess Garnet, I am Black Waltz number One. Your mother is quite worried about you, come with me now." The creature hissed.

Garnet stood up and dropped her bread. "... I can't. My mother doesn't understand, but I'm doing this for Alexandria! Try to understand tha--"

"Save your breath, Princess. I have no free will. I have no opinions. I am an artificial life form created for the sole purpose of obeying my master. If you require persuasion, I shall slaughter these ignorant humans to convince you."

"No!" Garnet screamed; but to no avail. Black Waltz number One rang his bell and a spike of ice formed in mid-air and shot towards Didymus like a missile!

Central City, Last Night

The old mage frowned to himself as Garet walked away.

"Well...guess you can only win some of the times." He murmured.

The Mage bought some goods, and took his leave. He'd be leaving Amestries early the next day, so he'd need all the supplements he could get.

Afterward, he found a cozy inn and stayed for the night.

Train to Treno

Issac frowned. A war? They sure picked a bad time to come.

Mia looked at the soldier, then at Yuna. She was never the type to jump into battle, so she sat watching the two argue, waiting to see what would come of this.

“That would have to be a really important book though...Wouldn't it?” Sora wondered, glancing to Zidane, “I mean, if you really have thousands of books or something in there, wouldn't it take some time for them to notice one was missing?”

“Do we at least know what kind of book she's looking for?” Kairi also wondered, “It would help cut down on where to look a bit, at least...right?”

Central City-Cafe

Sheska was enjoying some coffee, sitting back and preparing her writing arm for more muster reports, or case files, or something.

Suddenly, some familiar faces came walking in. She did not know Sama by name, but he had frozen when regarding her, then, as she left, had ran after her for a bit!

She tensed up, started shivering, but tried to look inconspicuous-not an easy task. She wasn't the only uniformed member of Amestris's military in the room, but she WAS the only uniformed FEMALE in the room, so she did actually stick out a bit.

The Red Rose

Beatrix was concerned. They were heading southeast, towards Amestris!

(poorly-drawn rough layout of the continent: http://theviditoflight.deviantart.com/art/...quot-128200224)

If Brahne was to travel to Amestris, shouldn't she have a better escort than this?

Just what was going on, and how deep was Brahne's madness?

Train to Treno

The soldier was getting annoyed. He didn't know just WHAT Yuna could do (namely, summon powerful creatures), but she DID have a staff...and so did the other girl who was just sitting down...but he couldn't back down.

"You know what?" he said. "I don't like your attitude. Save me the indignation, it's my job to sniff out spies! Now if I have to take you in and-"

The soldier's companion had placed a hand on his shoulder.

"Come on..." he said."...if you are truly innocent, than what harm would there be in letting us check your cousin?" he asked.

Outside Central City

Steiner shook his head.

"Security WAS tight as the castle after the princess disappeared...I suppose it IS worth a look..." he said. "...and as for what kind of book the princess was looking for...we don't know that, either. Just that the queen had it checked out from the castle's library herself. I don't know what it was, I don't pry into her majesty's busniess like that..."

He slowly began moving toward the road, which itself led to Central City's gates.

Ranger airship

When the Black Waltz appeared, Didymus immediately drew his sword, removed his overcloak, revealing his Paladin robe, and moved to stand between the intruder and Dagger. He could feel that his opponent was unnatural...and its admission of that fact then came.

This was both bad and good news. Bad because of the fact that it was a further sign of some terrible conspiracy resorting to such things to get at Dagger.

Good news because it was unnatural, which meant that Didymus did not need to hold back.

Paladins, in battle, sought to simply incapacitate rather than dispatch, whenever possible (or at least, certain chapters in the Order did). Incapacitate, capture, and do not stain your sword or your hands with a fellow person's blood. As such, when in battle against a human being, or an elf or dwarf for that matter, Didymus would have had to do just that: seek to incapacitate.

However, he was fighting something unnatural, forged of magic, animated by it, using it, and with no soul or free will. Something that shouldn't exist.

He did not have to hold back.

He sliced at the ice shard, intending to shatter it in mid air, and then, sword out, charged at their attacker, preparing to slice the thing, as opposed to simply clubbing it.

Central City-Cafe

Crystal walked into the cafe grinning widely and taking a seat at an empty table. She looked around her at what other people were eating but it only took her one glance at the menu to know what she wanted.

"Pastries! Wow, I didn't expect to see those in a place like this!" Crystal exclaimed happily setting down her menu and looking to Galv and Sama. She had always loved the finer things in life (enjoying sweets, dressing up, and just being girly were some of her favorite pastimes) and for today pastries would be one of said finer things to partake in.

"What are you guys gettin-" Crystal Rose paused, noticing the girl from the previous day who had Sama so upset...She shoved the menu at the two boys, hopping to obstruct their views.

Youswell: Yoki's Mansion

Now Eva was usually a brash young girl but even she didn't expect Winry's outburst. "Woooah, deep breath girl" She stated before giving a nervous laugh looking up to Yoki. Truthfully he looked like an overall jerk...But considering he was already mad she didn't pursue this thought.

"Ummm i'm sure you work very hard at what you do..." she answered...Not really answering his question

Train to Treno

Yuna was not one to back down. She was going purely on instinct. Her dreams told her to come to Alexandria, and right now her gut was telling her to keep the soldiers from taking Rikku. If she was going to follow her instincts at all, she might as well stick with them.

"We have done nothing wrong! We have no interest in your country or your war!" Yuna insisted. "And I will not allow you to harass my cousin because of your misguided suspicions!"

Yuna was not moving. The last thing she had wanted to do start trouble before she arrived in Alexandria... but she wasn't letting some strange soldiers from Amestris take her cousin anywhere! Not with their history of violence.

And then, a thought hit her.

"Wait... you say she looks like a spy from Galdwin? Impossible! She's traveling with me, and I use magic. Galdwin refuses to let its operatives use magic! That should be all the proof you need." Yuna insisted.

If they continued to refuse, though, Yuna would just have to show off that 'magic'.

Central City: Cafe

Sama had not noticed Sheska. When it came to breakfast, he was more interested in paying attention to the food rather than people. Besides, Crystal had just said the word 'pastries' and that meant it was time to grab a menu and find some grub...

... but he didn't have to grab one, since Crystal ended up shoving one in his face. He blinked, but was far too hungry to think anything of it. He looked over the menu and grinned.

"Man, this place has some good stuff..."

The Red Rose

Garland was pleased. They were drawing ever closer to Amestris. He knew the Princess would go there. Besides, Amestris was no danger to him.

They drew closer.

Youswell: Yoki's Mansion

Yoki narrowed his eyes. He did not like these girls! Why Lyra had ever let them in, he could not understand.

"You... how dare you! I am --"

"You're nothing but a --"

"You are needed on the phone, sir." Lyra had appeared in the end of the hallway, interrupting both Yoki and Winry. The commander looked furious, and barked at Lyra.

"Why did you ever let these ingrates in the mansion!?" Yoki demanded.

Lyra ignored his question. "Fuhrer Bradley is on the phone, sir."

Yoki's face paled and he started to sweat. He pushed his way past Winry and Eva, running to his office. He glanced back at them, and then to Lyra. "Deal with them!"

Yoki disappeared into his office. Lyra walked towards Eva and Winry.

"... He is an unpleasant man. You have my apologies."

Outside Central City

Zidane gave a little grin to Sora.

"Relax. Amestris would know if that book -- or ANY book -- was stolen. The library is decorated in odd symbols and designs, and to the average person it just looks like architecture."

The thief wagged his finger. "But in reality, every book is marked with a special transmutation symbol, and it reactions with the building's transmutation markers. If you check a book out, an alchemist deactivates it... if you steal one, it creates a transmutation that alerts the military."

Zidane shrugged. "So if Garnet already stole it, we'd be hearing alarms."

Ranger Airship

Black Waltz number One was hardly afraid of a Paladin. It had been created for one purpose: to kill. It was a slaughter machine and a fiend, and it would destroy anyone in the way of its mission.

As the icicle failed, Waltz One rang his bell and a ball of ice hit the floor. It froze the floor in front of the Waltz and then started to spread across the rest of the desk, quickly heading for Didymus' feet!

Dagger gasped and held up her hands. "Shell!"

She yelled loudly, and suddenly a bright yellow light flashed around Didymus. She was unsure how he would feel about her using her magic to help him, but she wasn't going to stand around!

Train to Treno

The soldier stepped back.

"Yeah, she's traveling with you. That doesn't make any difference. Galdwin banned magic in its own lands, but they made an alliance with Alexandria. It's been just over the past few months Brahne's been coming to her senses. Move aside." he said.

Yes, they didn't know what she could do. She didn't LOOK like a black mage or anything...of course, neither of the investigating officers knew what a Yevonite summoner could do...

The Red Rose

Beatrix was even more concerned. She wanted to know what was happening...but decided against it. She had pushed the boundaries of what Brahne's foul temper would take far enough, for the time being.

Outside Central City

This just seemed harder and harder by the moment.

"So she hasn't stolen it?" he said. "How do we know she hasn't been captured, then? Or how can we get OUR hands on it?" he asked. He suspected that Zidane had a plan for that, but he was curious.

As Didymus was charging, suddenly, Garnet tried to cast on him.

There was a second light on him, this one, actually, it seemed, ON him, rather than around him, and golden, right after Garnet's shell tried to manifest on him.

As Garnet had casted, Didymus temporarily lost his footwork, but regained it before tripping. It did slow him down for a moment, though.

"DON'T CAST ON ME!" he yelled.

He wasn't sure what the ice was, but he attempted to dodge around it, charge at, and slice the Black Waltz's arm holding its bell! If dodging around the ice was impossible, he would have sliced his blessed sword into the ice, trying to shatter it/drive out any magical power, before advancing on the Black Waltz and trying, again, to slice the arm that held its bell off!

Of course, he HAD been momentarily slowed by Garnet's spell, and his Paladin abilities/blessings deflecting said spell.

Gas mileage is pretty bad, but traffic jams aren't a problem.
