Youswell, Coal Mining Town "Wow, what was his problem?" Eva said with a huff, having just watched the entire scene before her. She had expected the citizens to be unintrested in their arrival, but had not expected them to be downright rude to the two girls. She looked around, trying to spot the mansion that was spoken about, apparently it would be easy to find. Suddenly a building, large and clean of any soot what so ever, caught her eyes. "You think that's the place he was talking about?" Eva asked revving her scooter once more. Central City, Amestris Though Crystal was happy Sama's mind was temporarily off of the past she couldn't help but to worry a bit about Galv. It wasn't like he had shown any hostility--on the contrary, the boy actually offered his aid-- but Crystal wasn't sure he could be trusted fully. Well Sama seemed allright with him...Maybe he had some kind of sixth Avatar sense about things like this? .....Maybe.... |

(Oh wow, sorry to keep you hanging GS, Phazon, and Spork.) Central City: Sweet Shop Nihlus came in behind Garet, and looked around the shop. "You look hungry. Feel free to get what you want. But I do want something in exchange." "I know you're not from around here. I want to know where you're from. And I want to know exactly what you're capable of." He continued, picking up an apple. Seaside Town "That's great!" Mia said happily. Issac nodded. "You won't regret this." He said softly. "So...exactly which way is this Alexandria?" Mia asked inquisitively. |

-Central City: Sweet Shop- “Thanks!” Garey grinned brightly, looking at all the treats. "I know you're not from around here. I want to know where you're from. And I want to know exactly what you're capable of." Garet paused...This...this wasn't good. “I...” Garet looked more closely at the man now. Garet was often accused of being a bit bumbling, and not the smartest tool in the shed...But he was smarter then people gave him credit for. “I don't know what you're talking about,” Garet smiled, “I'm just a traveler from far off. Well, yah, I'm decent with a sword,” he indicated the one on his back, “But nothing that's all that special! Just enough to fend off the occasional bandit or monster.” -Central City: Streets- “It's getting late...” Galv said, looking at the darkening sky, “We should look for a place to stay...Three foreigners running around after dark in the street will look suspicious here.” -Gargan Roo Tunnels- “FIRE!” Sora yelled, fire shooting from his Keyblade and hitting the giant worm, then jumping forward, slashing with his Keyblade! |

The Red Rose Brahne soon arrived at her personal airship, as did the mysterious knight, Garland. "We have a long journey. Best to be prepared for it." Garland suggested. Central City, Amestris Sama had no sixth sense -- at least not about people, anyway. However, Galv had seemed to know that the strangers in the bar were not human -- and if he had the power to tell that, Sama decided it was better to accept his help for now. Sama knew that the Homunculi were indistinguishable from ordinary people to most... the fact Galv could tell the difference made him want to trust the boy. "... It is late. I have a place we can stay for the night." Sama knew of a safe house located in Central. It was one of many that the Chasers had set up in every nation. As they worked in every nation in the continent, it only made sense the Chasers would have such safe houses. Seaside Town Luckily, Yuna had prepared for the trip to Amestris! She had even rented a compartment on a train! "Don't worry... we can travel by train to a town called Treno, which is very close to Alexandria." Yuna smiled to the others. Gargan Roo Tunnels ((Actually, the worm fled. ^_^;)) Zidane crossed his arms inside the cart and gave a small sigh. "By morning, we should be through these tunnels..." Youswell, Coal Mining Town Winry looked over to the massive mansion, and she nodded. She knew that had to be the place! There were gates, and also armed guards. It had to be the place. When they arrived, as one would expect, a soldier quickly stopped them. "Hold on! You can't just come in here..." He started, but was interrupted by a young woman in a black dress. "It's alright." The mysterious woman, Lyra, looked to the two girls on the bike. "It is late... why don't you stay the night? We have many guest rooms. Commander Yoki will see you in the morning." Without another word, Lyra started walking away. Winry blinked. "Weird..." Paladin Enclave-library Garnet gave a small smile to Didymus, but it was clear she was distracted by whatever she was hatching in her mind. "Actually, I think I'll return to my room now. Don't worry, though, I already thought about those things and I'll explain everything to you in the morning!" She gave him a polite bow, and did the same for the Librarian, and then she set off. The Princess had a plan. ((Are we ready to skip to morning?)) |

(Ready or not, here it comes. If you have any other busniess "tonight", then mark it is "Last night" in the setting description after this post. Otherwise, a few scenes here and morning shall come...) The Red Rose Beatrix nodded slowly. As destination orders were given the Red Rose took off into the sky... Paladin Enclave "Um, very well." Didymus said. If she wished it, he would escort Garnet back to her room, before returning to his own for the evening. The next morning Paladin Enclave-main cathedral The Enclave's main cathedral was an old and magnificent building, complete with all sorts of "cliches"-stained glass windows of Biblical events, of course, along with much else. No gargoyles, though. Didymus, having been kneeling at the altar/communion table, and head bowed in prayer, finally looked up, nodded, and rose. It was early, but the elders had gathered to pray over him and send him off on this mission. If Garnet had wished it, she would be there, and the same would have been done for her. He turned, and slowly walked up/down the aisle, and eventually exited the cathedral. Making his way to the airship waiting for them. Breakfast was going to be eaten on the go, they were to ride the airship courtesy of the Galdwin Ranger Corps most all of the day. (GS, insert Garnet into this scene however you like, whether she was with Didymus before or is just going to meet him at the airship, or whatever.) Gargan Roo Tunnel Finally, the (giant) insect came up to another platform. It seemed that they had arrived. Alexandria skies somewhere-the Red Rose Beatrix was already up, poring over maps and such. She was trying to keep her mind occupied, analyzing the military strengths and situations of Galdwin, Amestris, and Alexandria. Why? Simple. She was confident that Alexandria would get drawn into the war sooner or later. She couldn't get Garland out of her mind, though. Or Steiner's apparent betrayal-despite his loyalty. The doubts still gnawing... |

Youswell, Coal Mining Town (Last Night) Eva had not expected such a sudden and strange greeting but before she could say or do much Eva found herself being shown a place to stay for the night. Hesitantly the girl followed Winry into the mansion (leaving her bike at the door, hoping it wouldn't get stolen by some of the rough figures they had seen earlier). "Weird is right" she muttered back to Winry, the teenaged girl keeping her guard up. Central City, Amestris (Last Night) Though Crystal wasn't sure about the newcomer she did know a place to sleep for the night would be really nice (she always liked having a bed to sleep in, rather than camping or traveling through the night) "Sounds like a plan then!" |

Paladin Enclave Princess Garnet was already aboard the airship, waiting for her Paladin escort. The young noblewoman had hardly slept the night before, instead she had been hard at work studying the maps she had borrowed. She had made copies and only just returned the originals before heading to the airship. The Princess's eyes scanned the map. It was a pretty good copy -- being stuck in a castle all day with nothing to do left for a long time for practicing such skills. She hoped that with a map in hand, they would have an easier time in Amestris... and maybe the other map would help too... She was, needless to say, not paying attention to those around her. Youswell: Yoki's Mansion Lyra had given the girls rooms in the gigantic, sprawling mansion and had disappeared as mysteriously as she had appeared the night before. The soldiers that guarded the mansion had all been briefed that they had two guests who were expecting an audience with Yoki in the morning. As for Yoki, the Commander of Youswell, he was sitting in his office with a grin on his face. He so loved having guests! Anytime someone came to the mansion it meant they were asking him for something. He lived to have the power to decide 'yes' or 'no'. [...] Meanwhile, Winry had already gotten up and gotten dressed. She was worried about the whole situation. The town looked rough, and she wondered if Yoki would really be a helpful person. She was also worried about that odd man who had appeared in Resembrool. She stood in the hallway, waiting for Molly. Gargan Roo Tunnel: Amestris Stop Zidane looked to the others. "Okay, everybody! We're here! Now let's go find that Princess of your's, Sir Rustalot!" The thief gave a grin and jumped out of the cart. He stretched for a moment and then ran up a tunnel. They were in a small city, not too far from Amestris' Capitol, Central. It would still be a bit of a walk to get there, but they were much closer. Of course, there was another problem... They were in Amestris, and there was no telling what would happen if they ran into the Military. Central City, Amestris Sama was grateful for the place to stay, and had collapsed like a log. After a few hours though, he woke up and went up to the roof, looking out at the city at daybreak. Something about the city... about last night and those strange people at the bar... the whole situation just seemed wrong. He had a bad feeling, like this was merely the beginning of something much larger. It was a bad feeling he had not had since the day the Bending Village fell. He had no way of knowing what would happen, but he was sure something would happen. The Red Rose Garland stood at the railing of the ship, looking down at the land below. His plans were hinging on their ability to find Garnet. She had a power that he needed if he was to succeed. If his master was to succeed... Seaside Town: Train Station Yuna had led the others to the Train Station; and booked tickets on the Train for Treno. Now she waited on the train, waiting for it to take off. |

-Gargan Roo Tunnel: Amestries Stop- “Where do we begin looking for her?” Sora wondered, looking towards Amestries, thinking on a number of things. -Central City: Inn- Galv had brought Sama and Rose to an inn, the propietor an equal opportunity taker of money. He didn't ask questions, provided the person had money, and Galv had plenty for the mission. Galv awoke early in the morning as well, going through his rituals quietly. And snoring in a room not to far from the rooms of Sama, Crystal, and Galv, Garet slept, having gotten away from that strange cloaked man of Nihlus last night, and was fast asleep. |

Paladin Enclave Didymus climbed up into the waiting airship. "Hail, brother Paladin." a rugged voice said, as he climbed in. Looking to its source, Didymus saw a man clad in a tattered brown overcloak, with an special insignia on the collar: a sentinel's helmet (the sentinel being Galdwin's symbol), with a pair of radiant eyes. "Hail, ranger." Didymus replied. "Thank you for doing this." The ranger shook his head. "Although our organizations go about them in different ways, we do share a goal: the safety of Galdwin. Garnet's safety may help that goal be accomplished, and either way, we have our orders. No thanks is necessary." The ranger turned and walked back to the cockpit. Didymus looked around, and quickly found Garnet. "Good morning, Lady Garnet, ,if you'd pardon my intrusion." he said. She seemed immersed in her maps. "If I may, I would like to press you on something you said in the library you'd do this morning: give me an explanation. At least, an explanation concerning a possible new alias for yourself, and why you borrowed maps featuring the Spiran Cluster's military history. You DID say you had thought about these things and would explain "everything" to me..." he said with a small grin. The Paladin Elders, some of them, at least, gathered by the airship, calling out blessings and well-wishes to Garnet and Didymus, and the airship rose, was off, going east. It was somewhat small, but fast. After all, the Galdwin Ranger Corps used it to run in and out of Amestris. The Red Rose Beatrix had noticed Garland standing on the railing, and decided that now, while Brahne wasn't looking (hopefully), she might be able to get some information as to who he was and what his aims were. She walked over, and looked down at the landscape. There was a convoy of Amestris units moving along below, heading west on the road which led to Galdwin. "Amestris." Beatrix spat. "Using our roads, coming and going as they please through OUR lands. This cannot be good. Amestris is like the beast which symbolizes it: always hungry, always wanting more to consume. More powerful or advanced than us or no, allowing them this kind of freedom in our lands is a mistake." she said. "Besides..." she added. "...we SHOULD have an ally to stand with us in such times..." Some commentary to test Garland's mood and thoughts on the subject, for now... Gargan Roo Tunnel: Amestris Stop Steiner frowned at Zidane-the "rusty" monikers he had given him was getting VERY old-but he was getting used to it. "We would look for her, presumably, in Amestris's capitol city, Central. She'd be looking for a book contained in its National Library. However, I have another question: HOW are we supposed to find her. If we miss her by a SECOND, we'll never see her! Provided that she hasn't come and gone already-as it seems she's had a head-start on us-the only way we'd be able to see her is to keep a constant watch on the library!" he said. It was not entirely out of the question, but he was thinking that this plan was NOT the most well thought-out... Seaside Town-train station Eventually, Yuna, Rikku, Mia, and Isaac were on board, and the train heading east to Treno would be off. |

(Alexandria City seems quiet....) Alexandria City (last night) It was unusual that Shimera was still sleeping after the sun set. Then again, that's what happens when you've been sleep-deprived. She was usually soaring about just when the first star in the sky appeared, but she was going to miss it tonight. The Black Maiden, though, was planning out her next scheme. Whatever it may be. |

Central City: Inn As the morning came Crystal found herself not particularly wanting to wake. Despite the inn being a bit shabby the bed was warm and comfortable, and perfect for sleeping in until at least midday. With a long yawn Crystal rolled over on her stomach and opened her eyes slowly staring out of a nearby window and squinting at the bright sun. Apparently the sun had been up for quite a bit, which was a signal that she needed to get up....That didn't mean she wanted to...Just needed to. Slowly Crystal sat up and stretched, wondering if the others were up yet. She went about her usual routine; getting dressed, pulling her hair up into a massive ponytail. When she was done she ventured out of her room, peaking around the corner. Youswell: Yoki's Mansion Like many other inhabitants of Youswell Eva was awake at the break of day but unlike most people she awoke in a mansion, sleeping on a plush and warm bed. It was actually much nicer than what she was used to, but she couldn't complain. Quickly Eva got ready for the day--it was easy for a girl like Eva-- and walked out of her room only to see Winry standing there waiting for her. "Good morning" Eva said with a yawn and smile |

Gargan Roo Tunnel: Amestris Stop Upon his questioning, Zidane gave a brief paused and looked over to Steiner. He rubbed his chin, as if he was deep in thought. After a moment, he gave a grin and a thumbs up towards the knight. "Relax! We'll find her. Let's just think about this for a minute... we know she wants to get into the Library, right? Well, I've got news for ya, that library is reserved for State Alchemist only! That means her only ways of getting in are to break in, or try to fake her way in." Zidane put his hands behind his head. "In this case, we have an advantage -- I've broken into that Library before! Getting in is tricky, but it seems your Princess is as resourceful as a thief, so she can probably manage it. Still, Central's Library is one of the largest libraries in the world! I doubt she'd find her book in a few minutes... especially with the guard patrols." The thief nodded, confident in his words. "I'm good enough, that if you listen to me, we can get in and keep from being seen. That way, when we see her, we can surprise her. It's not like she'll make a fuss when doing so could get us all arrested, ya? As to 'what if we don't get there in time'... well, then she'll probably get arrested. As long as they don't discover who she is, that's actually GOOD news for us -- since getting people out of the jail is relatively easy." Zidane paused. "Of course, if they find out who she is, they'll take her to the Military base... and then we just have to deal with a few thousand of Amestris best soldiers and their State Alchemists... so let's hope they don't find out who she is, yeah?" Central City: Inn Sama shook his head and gave another yawn. He had been on the roof since sunrise, and while it had been pretty to see then, he was starting to get hungry. With a shrug, he jumped off the roof! ... And floated down into an open window riding on a ball of air. He hoped nobody saw it, especially after the night before and the trouble bending could cause. Once he was inside, he started looking for a kitchen -- but instead spotted his friend Crystal peaking around the corner. "Morning!" He called, trying to keep his voice low enough that he would not wake anyone up. "Suppose its time to look for that Firebender guy... wonder where to start?" Paladin Enclave Garnet gave a smile to Didymus and then agreed to explain everything. She had been preparing the plan nearly the entire night, and she was a bit nervous about telling it to someone else. Would it seem foolish? She did not know, but she knew she had to try. "I borrowed the map of Amestris to plot our route... take a look, assuming your map's intel is up to speed, all of the places I circled are Military bases.... as you can see, there's a lot of those. It's best we avoid them, even if it means going out of our way! We don't want to alert Amestris military. If they captured us, you would most certainly be executed as an enemy combatant, and I'd be used as a pawn against my mother and my nation." Garnet shook her head. Such a pleasant conversation for first thing in the day! "And that's why we need new identities... for one thing, neither of us can carry anything that will prove who we are! Of course, that will only provide small comfort, since they can tell you're a Paladin by your sword and I..." She touched the white crystal she wore as a necklace. "... I'm afraid I can't take this off. It seems foolish, and even contradicts the plan I just said, but..." She shook her head. She had no explanation that seemed at all reasonable -- but she did not care. She felt that she needed it. "Anyway! We can't very well use my name, either. I am named after my country." She reached into the oversized travel bag beside her and removed an object. "That's why I've decided to be called 'Dagger' from now on." Dagger said, showing Didymus the medium-sized blade she had somehow gotten her hands on! It was old, and the craftmanship seemed different from Galdwinian weaponry, so it seemed doubtful she had gotten it from the Enclave. "So no more calling me 'Princess' or 'Garnet' or anything like that. If you start now, you'll get used to it before it becomes necessary." Dagger might have sounded a bit... bossy. She was a Princess, however, and this mission was her quest. She felt as if this was something she absolutely had to do, and so she took it quite personally and seriously. "As for the Spirian Cluster maps, well, those I just wanted to see... when you said the people of the Spirian Cluster were summoners..." Her voice trailed off a bit. "Well... if we can't get that book for whatever reason, then plan B is to go to the Cluster. Of course, I'll understand if you don't want to do that..." She shook her head. "In fact, I understand if you think this whole thing is crazy! It's not too late for you to turn around and go back... just drop me off across the boarder first." While she attempted to come off as confident, truth was Dagger felt insecure about the entire thing. She was a teenGarager who had never had much experience in the real world, with no formal combat or stealth training, who was about to sneak into the Capitol of the world's largest military and break into a top secret building. Not exactly great odds. Still, Dagger knew her people and her mother needed her to be successful... or peril may befall them all. For that reason, she knew she would do what she had to, and she would be successful. The Red Rose Garland gave a chuckle. "Since when does a lowly knight question the decisions of her Queen? Amestris uses our roads because Queen Brahne has allowed them to. If you disagree, then keep it to yourself... or perhaps you think you would be a better woman to sit on the throne?" Garland gave a twisted smile; hidden by his helmet. Beatrix was baiting him, trying to get a reaction. She suspected he was up to no good -- and she was right. Perhaps she even suspected it was he who had poisoned the mind of Queen Brahne! In a roundabout way, that would be right too. Still, whatever her suspicions, Garland gave it little mind. What could she do? She could go to Brahne with her concerns, but Garland's little secret insured that the Queen would take his word over all others. She could attack Garland, but that would make her a traitor... and besides, he knew he could take her if he needed to. The villainous Knight was confident that he was in control of Alexandria. The only possible thing that could bring his plans down was the brat of a Princess! He needed to find her, and soon. Youswell: Yoki's Mansion "Morning!" Winry called with a smile of her own. She was leaning against the wall, a messy stack of papers in her hand. From the looks of them, they were all old letters. She was skimming through them, trying to remember if any of them mentioned Youswell... "Hey!" She grinned, and suddenly she stuffed all the letters save one back into the purple gym bag she carried around. She then unfolded the letter and read it quickly to herself. "This is weird..." Winry shook her head. "Ed and Al went to Youswell once... they said it was a really great town! The people all seemed happy, and he doesn't mention anything about all the dirt and coal dust... if that idiot lied I'll deck him one when I find him." Winry shook her head. She knew Ed well enough to know he wouldn't have lied in a letter. After all, sooner of later he'd end up on a table with her as his only hope for an arm and a leg. Besides, she liked to think they were close enough he wouldn't lie anyway! "... Wait... in this letter, Ed says the Commander of Youswell is a man named Bosch... but we're meeting with a Yoki... I have a bad feeling about all this." The Train To Treno Yuna had rented compartments, so everyone was riding in style. She had not done it for comfort, though, but for privacy. She was in a foreign land, and she knew much of the wars that happened here. The last thing she wanted to do was provoke trouble. She leaned forward and looked out the window. Somewhere in this land... she knew that her answers waited in Alexandria Castle! |

I'll bite your legs off!

Airship flight-Paladin Enclace to central Amestris Didymus pulled his brown cloak tighter around him as Garnet explained-the early morning air through which they now flew was cold and the "winds" they felt by their flight enforced that. He slowly nodded, taking in what Garnet/Dagger said. He took an interested look at the blade which she showed him, but he was concerned about her new alias. Dagger? he thought. That will only RAISE suspicion! I mean, who the HECK names their child "Dagger"? He spoke, but much more tactfully than his thoughts. ""Dagger"?" he asked. "Are you quite sure? It seems a strange thing to name a person, and it may attract more attention...however, if you are sure of it, then so be it...Dagger." However, when she suggested that he could still back out of the mission, just drop her off at the border, he took a firm (but not intimidating) demeanor. "Lady Gar-I mean, Dagger, excuse me. You seem not to understand my situation. I do believe that God, country, and Order have entrusted me with your safety. You know what one of the Elders told me to do? He told me to follow and protect you, wherever you may go-with Hell being the only exception. So unless you intend to go there..." he grinned, then sighed. How very corny this would sound. "...I WILL remain at your side, till I am either relieved of this assignment or dispatched trying to fulfill it. Much of this may indeed seem crazy, but I'm a Paladin, La-Dagger. Excuse me again...anyway, again, I'm a Paladin! So you know, crazy as it may seem...well, we just have to have faith." he said, half grinning, half warmly smiling. "Anyway, on the subject of faith, I'm afraid that I must go against your advice by continuing to wear this-" he held out the collar of his cloak, and bent over, allowing Dagger (that's what she's going to be called now, right?) to see that he was still clad in his white Paladin robe underneath his overcloak, and quickly straightened up again. "In the chapter I'm in, at least, wearing the robe in battle is a sign of our faith. I'll wear this overcloak as we wander, but should we have to fight, I will be revealing who and what I am. We shall have to make our escape after a fight should it be in an open, public area....I know how counterproductive that sounds, but I hope you'll understand...as for your necklace, or other such things, that's fine." He sighed, and slowly spoke this next part. "One more thing...I'm confident you'll understand this...as your escort, all the hopes and dreams that both Galdwin and Alexandria have upon your shoulders now also are upon mine. As such, should there come a time where you must choose to either protect me or fullfill the hopes that we have of Alexandria NOT going into the war with Galdwin which it edges increasingly closer to...well, should I fail in my task, at any rate by my own vice or because of any sympathy for me on your part...well, I guess what I'm trying to say is...if you were to save me from a peril that would end my time in this world, yet in so doing forfeit the chance for peace between our nations, thus bringing such peril upon so many others...you would not be doing me any favor. To make me live with such shame...don't do it. Not that I don't want you to grant me some aid that you could if I needed it, but...if it's either me or our mission...you know. Do not shame me, please." His face was grim and earnest as he said those words. However, he tried to pull it back into a smile. "Of course, I've no intention of such a choice befalling you. I intend, for my part, to keep us out of such a grim situation. Oh, and here-" He took out a bag. Opening it, there was some food. Fruits, some bread, and some cold meats. "Shall we break our fast?" he asked. Gargan Roo Tunnel: Amestris stop/Village outside Central City, Amestris Steiner shook his head, feeling like he was in way over it. "Very well..." he said. "...I suppose we can scout the Library and see if she's been there, if not, we'll just keep a watch on it..." Oh dear. He REALLY felt like he was in over his head. The Red Rose Beatrix scowled. "I presume not to have the better judgment than her majesty." she quickly said. "But she has been making...strange choices...as of late, in my humble opinion. And you-what, exactly, have you against Galdwin? I realize the many differences between our nations-but what reason have we to now mistrust, even betray, a faithful ally?" she said, having heard some of Garland's political opinions. |

Central City Shop (last night) Nihlus chuckled. "Come now, young one. No reason to deceive me. I am a Black Mage. Nothing obscures my view." He rubbed the apple against his clothing, chuckling as he did so. "Heh, I have seen alot in my lifetime. But nothing like you." He continued, before taking a bite out of the apple. Train to Treno Issac and Mia sat nearby, keeping to themselves. Mia seemed to have her gaze fixed on the passing scenery, enjoying the passing sites. Issac was simply thinking to himself, pondering whether or not "Alexandria" was the right place to go. Something...an instinct....was telling him he was going the wrong way. Alexandria Forest: Thieves' Fortress The three thieves made it back to there master, who was waiting for word on what happened. "Hmmm...you...were stopped by soldiers in the vicinity?" Heughes began. "Yeah, sir. We were also being chased by some younger teen and a...umm...thing." The first thief mumbled. "No sign of this 'Keyblade'?" Heughes continued. "Nope. We asked around town and nobody had an idea what we were talking about." The third said with a sigh. "What about this old man you tell me about?" Their master questioned. "Him? He was there." The second thief grumbled. There was a pause, before Heughes interrupted. "I will deduce that this elderly elf you tell me about is in this for the key too. Find him, follow him, and keep in contact with us. If he gets this keyblade first, stop him at all cost." The leader finally said. "Yes my lord." All three said at the same time. "And take your sister. Sounds like you may need a magic user." Heughes said. "Yes..." All three agreed. "Then you are dismissed." |
