Paladin Enclave

Didymus walked through the hallways, on his way from the Paladin Enclave’s cathedral, making his way towards some quarters. The Order was currently looking after a special guest, one that he himself had helped bring to the Enclave. He had already been debriefed on the mission (the apparent inhumanity of Bradley was a subject of considerable interest to many), and from what he had heard, the Order’s guest had been debriefed, as well-and bombarded with requests, options, and other things, as politicians and generals had each talked to her or voiced their opinion on what her best course of action would be.

Didymus paused before a door, and sighed. He had helped get Garnet safely into Galdwin, and, while he had no assignment from the Order concerning her further (for the time being, at least), but he had helped get her here safely, and, especially in light of the many things that she had gone through, Didymus decided to check up on her. Of course, he had asked permission from the elders, and there had been some discussion as to Didymus perhaps talking with Garnet about what she might do, but for now…again, he had helped get her here. Checking up on how she was doing after she arrived was simply a nice thing to do, right?

…he raised his right hand and knocked on the door.

”Lady Garnet?” he asked. “Are you in there?”

Central City, Amestris

In the immense crowd gathered in front of Amestris Central Command headquarters stood a man with dark hair, and glasses, wearing the uniform of a lieutenant colonel in the Amestris State Military.

Like numerous others, military or otherwise, Maes Hughes was waiting, eagerly anticipating what Fuhrer Bradley was going to say in his address to the nation concerning the recently-declared war on Galdwin.

Hyrule Castle-war room

As a pair of guards opened the doors for her, Zelda walked into Hyrule Castle’s war room. It was not a large room, in fact, it consisted of a table, a few chairs, and a stack of maps in a corner. It did, however, have many windows, and was high up in the castle. It was in case of an assault on Hyrule Castle itself, its generals could take refuge in it, and see the battle on all sides, issuing orders as needed from their excellent vantage point. On the table was, as there had been for years before, a map of only Hyrule. The elves did not bother with the affairs of other races. One of her generals, with a bow of his head, spoke:

”Your highness, we don’t know what’s going on. Already, the town’s lines to Lon Lon Ranch are again being raided, and there are scattered reports of monsters in a similar manner to Gannondorf’s roaming Hyrule Field at will, attacking wayward travelers...” he said.

Zelda, in a rare loss of composure, pounded her fist on the table, and her general continued:

”We have no idea how he could have recovered so fast…or maybe he’s just trying to make it appear like he’s not beaten…” his voice trailed off.

Zelda spoke herself.

”We can’t be sure…” she said. “…but I want more information. That boy who defeated Gannondorf so recently…Link, was it?”

”Yes, highness.” Came a reply.

“An alert to all messengers. If any come across him, they are to tell him that he is summoned to Hyrule Castle by my order at once.”

“Yes, highness, I shall alert them right away!” said her general, and walked out of the room to do so.

The Crazy One

Central City, Amestris

“My friends, today is a dark day for our beloved nation.”

In the midst of the crowd was a tall podium, and standing atop it was Fuhrer Bradley. His usual smile was gone, replaced with a serious scowl.

“A few days ago, a situation arose in the desert town Lior. A just, noble man of the people named Father Cornello invited a Paladin from our neighbor, Galdwin, to come to his parish as a sign of good faith between our two nations. Unfortunately, the sneaky Paladins from Galdwin hatched a plan, and this invited guest in our land murdered Cornello in cold blood.”

Bradley told the story of Lior, and his people believed it. Why wouldn't they? Fuhrer Bradley was their beloved, benevolent ruler. A man who was just and fair. No one had any reason to suspect otherwise.

“This attack is only the most recent against us from Galdwin! As you know, the cowardly Paladins who rule Galdwin have outlawed Alchemy, calling it 'magic'. They reduce the glorious science that has built our great military and economic might to mere parlor tricks! They seek to destroy Alchemy, and therefore destroy our very way of life!” Bradley knew the Paladins opposition to Alchemy would be the key to keeping the mindless masses in line.

“Therefore, we have no choice . . . but to destroy the Paladins and insure our future in this world!” Bradley was met with rousing cheers and applause from the people.

A small group was standing in a nearby building, watching the speech from a small, cluttered office. That building was the Central City Military HQ, and that office belonged to the Colonel-in-Charge of Central – Roy Mustang.

“... He's up to something.” Mustang whispered as he heard the speech. “Why start another war? Why now of all times?”

“Perhaps the time to move is sooner than we originally planned, sir?” Hawkeye, always at his side, suggested.

“... We may have to...” Roy nodded. Then he raised an eyebrow, a sudden idea. “Hawkeye... where's Fullmetal?”

Paladin Enclave

Princess Garnet was in the small room the Paladins had given her, sitting on her bed and thinking about what she would say to them. She was in a situation unlike any she had ever been involved in before... she had fled her country.

'It cannot be helped... I must fine a way to cure mother's condition. I know she would call off this crazy war if she was not sick... I have to save her.'

Garnet's thoughts were broken as someone knocked on her door. She recognized the voice as that of the Paladin who had protected her before. She slowly rose to her feet and walked over to the door.

“Oh... sir Didymus... yes, I am here.” She opened the door, and tried not to show the heaviness of her heart on her face. “What did you need?”

Gerudo Desert, Hyrule

A few weeks ago, a dark wizard called Ganondorf had been defeated in Hyrule. Everyone believed that the threat he posed was over. His Moblin Armies had retreated back into the mountains and his evil creatures were gone.

A man in a dark cape stepped into a deep cavern beneath the old Spirit Temple in the Gerudo Desert. He seemed to glide over the floor.

“Have you been defeated so easily, O Ganon the Beast?”

There was a suddenly flash of light and vortex seemed to opened. From out of it, a horrible, pig-like monster tumbled out. His skin was leathery and blue, horns protruded from his head, he wore red robes and he seemed to bellow in a booming voice.

“Ah! It is you... my thanks, old friend.” Ganon growled.

The man waved his hand and suddenly Ganon fell to the ground, squealing and roaring. Slowly his horns transformed into thick red hair, his skin turned soft and green and the red robes he had worn transformed into black armor. Slowly, Ganondorf rose back to his feet.

“Ganondorf Dragmire! I have restored your humanity... reclaim your vengeance on Hyrule, while I prepare for the grander scheme.” The man hissed.

“Of course! I shall topple that miserable brat Zelda and her kingdom.” Ganondorf grinned.

Paladin Enclave

Didymus smiled gently at Garnet.

"Respectfully, lady Garnet..." he said. "...my title would be "brother", as opposed to "sir", but you may counter that by saying your proper title is "princess", not "lady", but as for the point of my visit...well, the elders and I thought that after the political and military faces in this country-most of whom you've never met-all tried to shove their ideas down your throat, seeing a familiar face-even if only familiar for a few days-might do you some good." he paused.

"It doesn't take the gifts I have to tell your heart is heavy. How are you holding up? Is there anything I can do for you?" he asked.

Central City, Amestris

Behind Bradley stood his secretary, brown-haired silent, with her head bowed slightly in his direction, she always appeared in public.

Hughes, in the crowd, frowned, while making his way to the interior of Central City Military HQ, thinking to himself.

The Paladins control Galdwin? But...Galdwin's a republic! He must be implying that it's a conspiracy...but either way, I may want to get to Mustang about this. he mused silently.

In moments, he had arrived at Mustang's office, and, after making sure the coast was clear, spoke up as he entered.

"So, the wise and beloved Fuhrer has made his decision, and the people have approved it. You know, maybe we're a democracy after all." he sarcastically remarked.

(On this note, let me know if I'm not getting Hughes down.)

I can't see what you're imagining
-Amestries: Central City-

A blonde haired older man sighed, shaking his head, wearing an intricate red and black robe, watching the Fuhrer’s speech.

“I suppose this means a last hope for peace is out of the question,” Ansem the Wise sighed, folding his arms behind his back, “I better send word to the other Chasers…”

Elsewhere, a man with a black cloak watched the speech atop a roof, looking at it with neutral yellow eyes.

“It seems…” the black coated humanoid muttered, “My brethren are up to something. Perhaps I should pay dear Wrath a visit.”

-Hyrule: Gerudo Desert-

Two blondes moved through the desert, trudging along the hot sand. Both of them looked well off though.

The male had a scowl on his face, though every now and then he glanced back to the girl, who was smiling slightly at him, as if urging him on.

“Are you sure we might be able to get help here?” Roxas, the male, wondered, looking frustrated.

“I…think so,” Namine, the female, answered. “Besides…where else would we be able to go?”

“Yah...Both Amestries and Galdwin consider me a monster, for one…Everything just seems to be going into…” Roxas paused, “Chaos…”

“Your name is Roxas,” Namine said firmly, “Remember…Roxas.”

“Right…right…” Roxas muttered, shaking his head, “Let’s…let’s just get to Hyrule Castle…Are you sure you can find help there though?”

“Well, I am half-elf…” Namine muttered, “Besides…they should…I want to be able to help you!”

Roxas, for once, cracked a small smile, “You’ve helped me already…”

Amestries: Central City

As the people stood around, listening to the speech of Fuhr Bradley, one strange person made his way through the crowd. He was garbed in a strange, brown robe, which had even stranger markings all over it. He wore a pair of black gloves; in one of his hands, he held a staff. The oddest thing about him though, was his face. He had a hat, that covered up his face leaving a black void like space. With a pair of yellow eyes, he was, indeed, a strange one. He was Nihlus, one of the strongest magic users to exist.

"Ah, pardon me." He said, with a cold raspy voice. The women in front of him moved, in a strangely hypnotic-like way.

He made his way to a bench, where he sat and watched the man at the podium talk.

Alexandrian Forest

A horse drawn carriage made it's way through a small, rugged path that cut through the forest like a butter knife. In it was one of the most wealthy men in the country. He also had all sorts of riches inside. Until today.

An arrow sprung out of the forest. A rope was tied to the end of it as it hit the cart. The cart stopped, and began to struggle. Several more arrows came out, and hit all the sides of the small cart. The cart was now in a web of ropes.

Several hooded men ran out of the bushes, laughing and shouting. One cut the horse free, and watched it run away. Others ripped open the cart, and shoved out the wealthy man onto the ground. Taking what treasures were in the cart, they turned tail and ran back into the forest.

"Who are you?" The man asked a nearby hooded man.

"Know from this day forth. We are the thieves of Alexandria. We will be feared by all. And I am it's leader," The man paused.

He removed his hood to reveal a rugged face with black hair. "I am Heughes Nasco. Remember my name. And don't come back. This is our territory now!"

With that, he turned and walked away. The man got up and ran off, and tried to get to the nearest town to alert the authorities.

Alexandrian Forest

In the middle of this forest, Shimera the Star-Maiden was sleeping on a tree. Since apparently it was day-time, she needed this sleep (being nocturnal).

She was far away from any roads, so whatever would happen on them, she wouldn't hear the noise. Squirrels, birds, and other animals were gathered around to watch the Star-Maiden sleep.

(Something needs to happen here.)

Alexandria Forest

Alexandria's main forest had another name. The "Evil Forest".

As Shimera slept, the animals around her heard something coming...and they ran, or flew, away, one by one...

...a large plant creature, what looked like an aggressive version of what we call the "Venus fly trap", moved, and advanced on the sleeping star-maiden...

"...Jeez...nothing to do..." The teen walked around, and sighed. "Ah well, I suppose I'll-What is that?" The teen looked at the Venus Fly Deathtrap, and sighed. He then turned to the sleeping Star Maiden, and proceeded to poke her with his sword gauntlet. "Hey...you...Wake up. A deadly creature's about to come and devour us..."

Alexandria: Evil Forest

The plant-creature seemed to regard Sam, then, with a snarl, it thrashed at him with one of its tentacles, the size of a small tree trunk!

Alexandria Castle

(I'm about to introduce a character who may or may not become recurrent.)

A large man in a suit of heavy plate mail walked through the hallways of Alexandria Castle. He walked with a severe heaviness, as if he was immensely distressed. Slowly, he arrived in Alexandria Castle's throne room.

Brahne was not herself lately, it seemed. Still, he had sworn loyalty to her and her line...

...Steiner approached Brahne and knelt, speaking with a heavy heart.

"My queen..." he said. "...I have failed you...my knights have found...no...trace...of princess Garnet's whereabouts. We may have a few leads...but nothing definite."

He sighed, bracing himself for Brahne's newly-aquired nasty streak to kick in. That he was ready for.

What really frightened him was the prospect of general Beatrix walking in to witness this.

Central City, Amestris

A deep female voice sounded out behind the dark-coated figure.

"Of course we're up to something." it said.

Standing behind the dark-cloaked, yellow eyed figure was what appeared to be a woman who would turn the head of most any guy, clad in a long black dress that matched her hair, heels, and even gloves, and which contrasted with pale-white skin. She continued to speak.

"We're always up to something." she said. "And can't you see? The final phases of the plan are being put into action. Why should you have to bother Wrath about that?" she asked, grinning a bit.

Alexandria: Evil Forest

Shimera was quite a heavy sleeper, but with the growling and the poking, she opened her eyes slightly.

She saw the Giant Venus Fly Trap and the boy trying to kill it. Her eyes got wider and she got on her feet, despite being on a branch.

"What the heck is that thing?!" she asked.

"No idea, but apparently, it's trying to kill me. Neglect to mention you as well." Sam's head was racing with thoughts of what to do: Should he stay and fight? Abandon the girl and run to fight another day? Run with her, or fight with her?

"...Might want to do something...anything to vanquish that thing!" Sam said, pointing his Pata to the creature.

"Solar beam!" she cried out as a big yellow ball of solar energy blasted the plant monster thing.
