Yougankure no Sato: Main Road Nanami was walking just behind Lavan, her arms crossed in front of her as she starred at her elbows. She did not seem to be paying too much attention to the city around her, or the people. She was watching from the corner of her eye just enough that she'd be aware if someone came towards her, but aside from that her mind was focused on her thoughts. "Maybe . . . Maybe controlling a Testament is the entire reason Madara spent so many years perfecting the Sharingan. Maybe that's his plan . . . to become powerful enough to control a Testament." She was thinking out loud, wondering if that was even possible. She paused, her mind drifting back to Lavan's description of the needed attitudes for the Testaments. "Hmm... that still doesn't explain everything. There's a LOT of people who could meet those requirements, not just you and Voyager." She continued. "There has to be some catalyst that will give someone a Testament's powers. Like what Voyager did to you in Konoha... then, how did Voyager get his powers? And how does someone else gain those powers? Is there any way WE could find one of the other Testaments, and to get them on our side?" She sweat dropped. "Well... I guess that's a lot of questions." |

Yougankure no Sato: Main Road Lavan turned to Nanami and nodded to her first observation. "I am aware that he might have done it for that particular reason. While his ability to control the Red Testament is still very much dubious, his ability to control the others might very well be quite large. However... Voyager seems to hold the key to the Testaments. He turned me into one... And he holds the keys to the others. I KNOW that me and Voyager are the only two so far. Don't ask me how I know, it's... Instinct, almost. Like if it something I was BORN with." He stopped in front of the doors to the tower, another pair of quite large, reinforced doors keeping the entrance closed. "It's strange... It's like this knowledge came out of nowhere. I don't know how to explain it. And it's sort of... Frightening, in a way. But enough of this creepy stuff!" He tapped the door, which got outlined in a flame and opened on its own, revealing the main chamber of the tower, the base floor bustling with activity. This was the place where everything was put together, and it looked like the many accountants were trying to do things as quickly as they could, with no success. Luckily, papers didn't fly all over the place, but ninjas shot from place to place like bullets, signing this, writing that, completing this... It was an office nightmare. Lavan blinked... And started to snicker. "Someone forgot to fill in this morning's roster." |

Yougankure no Sato: Main Road Nanami could not let the issue go, but she decided to cede to Lavan's wishes and drop the discussion, for now. After all, the Testaments, Voyager, Madara . . . that was not their mission at the moment. They were here to figure out why a village had lost it's populace. Sama gasped, impressed, as he watched the ninja bound around from place to place in the room. It seemed pretty hectic. Nanami turned to Lavan. "Is it always this crazy in here?" |

Yougankure no Sato: Central Tower As a secretary passed the group, barely balanced under what looked like a human-and-a-half tall stack of papers and office supplies, Lavan couldn't help but start snickering. Odari soon joined him, and the pair exchanged knowing glances before Lavan gave Nanamy a wry, mischievous look. "WORSE. Usually, the old man runs around with the rest of them, trying not to trip over his robes as he signs things on the fly. This is actually the calmest I've seen the place in years. Well, I haven't been here for a while... But this is definitely one of the calmer moments in the tower. It's when the Gansou Family goes on an invention rampage that everything starts to turn to utter chaos. Either that or I set another building on fire, whether on accident or on purpose. Maaaan, I've missed this place..." And he headed onward, followed by Maya who shot Nanami a wry look as well, a smirk playing about her lips. "With Lavan around, I think we ALL know how chaotic things tend to get. Besides... What fun is life without any chaos?" And the trio headed onward, past the spinning shinobi, running secretaries and accountants, dodging various objects that were flying through the air like birds. They were heading for what looked like a wide, spiral staircase that would lead up the tower, right towards the main office. Lavan. feeling right at home, seemed to know everything here, even up to the very things he dodged, sometimes even picking papers out of the air and throwing them in various directions, already knowing what they were about... Or not, considering some of the people screamed indignantly when they got the WRONG papers from him. The spiral staircase past the reception desks led right up to a rather large pair of wide-open doors: the main office. The office was a large, spherical chamber with 7 desks lined up, the spot of the 8th desk taken up by the entrance into the office. The entirety of the council of 7 was here working on various papers and generally exchanging information. Even X was here, his desk groaning under the weight of a large amount of files, which he was leisurely checking. Opposite of the entrance was the main desk, and the elder of Yougankure immediately looked up to see the newcomers. He was an old, old man with a graying beard and a pair of sharp, blue eyes that seemed to bore right into the skull. He wore a rather simple, red robe with various flame-like designs on the seams. "Welcome back, Lavan, and welcome to all of you Konoha shinobi and kunoichi! I hope your trip was relatively safe..." |

((LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE)) Yougankure no Sato: Central Tower Sayuri clutched her stomach as it made a loud grumble. "Ah... I'm hungry!" She complained. " She looked around at the other ninja in the group. "Does anyone wanna come with me to get something to eat?" |

Yougankure no Sato: Central Tower Like a faithful puppy following his owner, Musashi bounded over to Sayuri and quickly nodded. He wasn't really that hungry, but... "I'll come along!" Musashi grinned. He really ought to stay and meet with the leader of the village, but that was more a job for the mission leader. And while that meant Sayuri, it also meant Nanami -- and Nanami seemed better suited. ... Okay, so he wanted to have lunch with his girlfriend. Nanami nodded to them. "Anyone who wants to head out and relax can. This is probably the last down time we'll have, so enjoy it while you can." She then turned to the gray old man. "Sir, I am Uchiha Nanami of Konoha. Thank you for allowing us into your city." |

Central Tower A hand tugged at Sayuri's sleeve. Of course, it was Kaoru. "I wanna come too, nee-chan." "Of course, Kaoru-kun!" Sayuri patted her fake brother's head. "'Sashi doesn't mind, right?" Boota leaped onto Musashi's head, making himself comfortable on his head. "Nanami," Sayuri waved. "Thanks for taking care of this! I'll go get more supplies for the rest of the mission!" |

Yougankure no Sato: Central Tower The elder himself nodded, smiling warmly. He REALLY did not look like a ninja, in fact he just didn't have the physical body of one, and it was obvious even underneath the robes. However, he was the leader for a different reason, and his eyes shone with such a deep and thorough acuity that one would be safe to bet that this man, this very head of the village of Yougankure, was more insightful than even the most trained and advanced of the Hyuuga Clan. He stood up, walking around his desk and stretching out a hand to shake Nanami's. "Uchiha Nanami, I have heard much about you, both from our informants in Konoha and from Lavan himself, who has never failed to mention you in his reports. I am glad to finally meet you, and I am glad it is on such safe terms, though in troubling times. I am Kaminari Kyoten, leader of the Council of 7 in Yougankure, though I must admit that I have earned many other names throughout my life." Lavan from the side couldn't help but snicker, shooting the old man a mischievous glance. "That you did, didn't you, Ero-jiji? Who ever thought YOU would be someone who has fallen into the trap of the I-MMF!" The old man, moving much too quick to be just a spry old man, had Lavan's mouth covered with a palm in a millisecond, glaring at the youngster who just gave back his most rebellious gaze. A second later, Kaminari Kyoten was jumping up and down, trying to put out the fire Lavan started on the seat of his pants, completely abandoning trying to keep Lavan quiet, who grinned, disappearing in a blast of heat to reappear right beside Nanami, whispering closely into her ear. "Don't pay too much respect to the old geezer, or you'll inflate his ego. It's bad enough that he is as lazy as a Nara, but then he also got hooked on Ero-Jiraiya's Icha-Icha series." It took a few seconds for the elderly village head to put out the flames and sit down in embarrassment, back at his own desk. He gave Lavan a mock glare, which was answered with a childish raspberry from the firestarter. But then, the elder turned serious and beckoned Nanami and Sayuri over. "So, you two are the heads of this operation, I assume. Rest assured that I will do everything in my power to help you with this mystery. I know what you are looking for, I know where it is, and I know what happened, for even my own memory draws a blank when it comes to that small village. You have the entirety of the Yougankure Library at your disposal, and I have already sent out a word to our undercover agents to find out as much as possible about why this is happening. In the meanwhile, you are free to travel outside the village, but I must remind you that you HAVE to travel in groups of four, or you shall not be able to get back into the village, and one of the four MUST be someone who knows how to activate the first transportation seal. Do you have any questions?" |

Yougankure no Sato: Central Tower As Nanami watched the display between Kaminari Kyoten, the leader of Yougankure and Lavan, she remained completely stoic. She had to resist all the sudden urges that leaped into her mind. It was hard not to laugh, or even smile at Lavan's antics – and it was equally difficult not to turn around and punch the redhead in the gut. Though, she really was not that surprised to see that Lavan treated his own village's leader the same as he did Naruto, Gaara or any other. It seemed the gray-haired wise man was at least used to this sort of situation. Still, she could not focus on the antics. While Lavan had the luxury of not caring whether or not he goofed off on a mission, Nanami was made of serious stuff. As the mission's leader (or, co-leader really) she was tasked with representing Konoha. The fact Naruto trusted her with such a task made her brim with joy, but it also scared the hell out of her. When he beckoned them over, Nanami bowed. “I thank you, sir, for welcoming us into your village and for your assistance in our mission. I assure you that everyone on our team shall show the utmost gratitude and respect for all you are doing for us.” She paused. “... Lavan excluded.” Musashi, meanwhile, was bored out of his mind. He had been in rooms like this with village leaders and serious discussions about everything from corn trading to the fate of the world since he was a small child, and he hated it. Once again, he was incredibly thankful that Misaki was responsible enough to become the next Hokage – because he sure as heck wasn't. “Hey,” Musashi crept up next to Lavan, speaking quietly so as not to disturb the Kaminari Kyoten or the girls. “Sayuri's hungry. Where can we go to get some food here? Preferably something that won't light our stomaches on fire.” The Forgotten Village Not too far from Yougankure was the target of the team's search. A simple village, nestled between the grand swamp and a small mountain range. For years, the villagers lived a humble life mining the deep caverns beneath the mountains for precious stones and valuable ore that could be sold to those who forged weapons. The people lived modest, but happy lives and nothing exciting ever happened there. That is, until every living being in the village disappeared overnight and everyone who had ever heard of the village, bought ore from them or set one foot within the boundaries of the village forgot the location and name of the small town. The true cause of it all was, as feared, Uchiha Madara. The enigmatic Uchiha who had been presumed dead for decades was now standing in the depths of the ore mines, very much alive and well. The man who stood across from him was not as lucky. “Twenty five years of planning, manipulation and training and it all comes down to this.” Madara mused. “Your attempts failed. Despite the setbacks you caused, I am quite in control.” “Failed? No. I won't have failed as long as there is someone out there who can stop you.” Madara turned his head. “You think they can? Thanks to the network of spies and the use of long-forgotten techniques, I've managed to manipulate the hidden villages, Akatsuki, several governments and many criminal groups all from the shadows. Thanks to the forbidden jutsu of the tower, I could battle uninterrupted for an entire week, without the need for sleep, food or replenishing my chakra... and even the Biju fear my presence. That is a power you cannot even begin to comprehend.” “... True, but what good is all your power when it could be taken away from you so easily?” Madara shrugged. “Easily, you say, but the only two people who know how to rob me of this power are you and I. You could always go tell them... oh wait, you no, you can't.” He said with a smirk playing on his lips. “If you can summon me, so could they.” “I doubt any of them know how to... and besides, why would they?” Madara questioned. “...” “I thought so.” Madara replied, sounding satisfied. “Yes, I thought that having to watch silently as your mind and body lapsed into madness was the perfect punishment for you, but these new circumstances work out even better. Maybe after I've killed the last of those who could stop me, you will agree that betraying me was your worst mistake?” “To betray someone, you have to have been loyal to them to start with, so I never actually betrayed you.” Madara rebuffed the comment. “View it however you'd like. It's only a matter of time until both Sayuri and Nanami are dead.” “... Even the dead aren't truly gone.” “You would know.” After Madara spoke, his eyes flashed and his companion vanished in an instant. |

Yougankure no Sato: Central Tower Kyoten shrugged in a nonchalant manner as he watched the exchange between the shinobi and kunoichi in front of him and the stoic Uchiha... Too bad that expression of hers gave things away far too easily. Kyoten's pride was his ability to look into people and see them for who they are, and his eyes have not failed him to judge a person yet. The Uchiha, while stoic, did not have the blank and expressionless eyes of the Hyuuga, and her own eyes gave her away quite well to those that would pay attention to look. "I do not mind. Believe it or not, most of the Hachi family was like this. They don't bow to authority, it's in the genes. But I don't mind, it helps me stay SANE in this place, especially when there is at least someone here that cannot see the "Kaminari-Senpai" or the "Kaminari-Dono", but the old man that I really am. Besides, he always brightens everybody's day, be it through pranks, jokes or just random explosions that REALLY make the day bright. "We will aid you in your investigation however we can. We will not deploy additional shinobi to the location, it's too dangerous. However, our supplies are at your disposal. If you need weapons, visit either the smith or the collector. If you require shinobi gear in particular, there are two stores just north and south of the Colosseum. If you need other supplies, there are several shops here that can accommodate you. If you require rest, we also have several hotels you can check out, though I doubt it would be necessary. The Hachi compound, in all of its glory, would allow accommodation for all of you and then another half a hundred men and women easily." Lavan grinned. "I'll be happy to have you guys over! It's been so BORING to live in an empty place! Well... Besides Gramps. But gramps is a cranky old bastard that would rather sit on my back while telling me to give him 50 push-ups on my pinkies... Senile old sonova... Oh! In addition to what the old geezer said, I'll show you guys the place that ties with Ichiraku for taste, though it is NOT with ramen. Though believe me when I say that the noodles there are JUST as good, if not even better. Don't worry, they won't make your mouths want to explode." Kyoten couldn't help but give an undignified snerk to what Lavan just said. "... You're not planning on giving the Konoha Representatives the Hachi Special... Are you?" Lavan just whistled innocently, looking for all the world like some fae that has just done something incredibly mischievous, but has not yet been caught in the act. The look in his eyes said it all though. But then, again, his personality suddenly changed to a much more serious one. "When you get any information on this, send it to me through the seal. It would be preferable if we were informed as quickly as possible because of the touchy nature of the mission itself. The moment you get ANY info on what is going on, I want to know. I'm not putting my own team in danger if this is something we cannot handle with just the forces and options that we are given." Kyoten nodded, and Lavan's expression yet again turned to that impish, mischievous, and somewhat evil expression as he turned to the rest of the group. "So... Who wants something to eat?" |

Yougankure no Sato: Central Tower Seeing how bored Musashi was, Sayuri grabbed his face. "Hey! You can't fall asleep in here!" She playfully scolded him. "Look alive, 'Sashi! That's an order from your leader!" She stepped away from him and put her hands to her hips. "Why, what would Hokage-sama say if he saw you like this?" She asked, but didn't give him time to answer. "I'll TELL you what he'd say; he's say," She switched to a fake, deep voice that still sounded like a young girl. "'Musashi, I'm surprised at you! In my day, we'd at least paint eyes on our eyelids to we'd look awake when we were snoozing!'" Switching back to her normal voice, she nodded, "So listen to your father, Musashi." After all of that, she couldn't help but laugh, and when Lavan asked who wanted something to eat, she eagerly raised her hand. "Yes! Over here!" |

Yougankure no Sato: Central Tower Hikaru looked around the room, and he too was bored out of his mind. It seemed as if he forgotten what the point to this mission was, but he quickly shook his head and tried to fight the overwhelming head bob effect. He watched Sayuri and Musashi and smiled. He had finally gotten over the whole 'I'm in live with my now Best Friend's Girlfriend thing'. To be truthful he was starting to feel lonely and wished Misaki had decided to come. But knowing her, she would find a way to show up... hopefully. At the mention of food, Hikaru's Reticular Activation System kicked into high gear, and he was next to Lavan in a flash. "Yes please!" He all but shouted. Hikaru was one of those people who could just eat and eat and be content. Maybe he could create an eating contest while he was there too. |

Yougankure no Sato: Central Tower Lavan's grin turned even more evil than usual. "I know JUST the place that will fill your gullets with taste beyond anything you have ever eaten before. It's not fancy, but Okonomi's place has always served the clans and shinobi well, not to mention that they have a special menu for every clan in this village. So come on, I'll show you, it;s right outside the academy walls! Besides, we have nothing else to do here." However, a voice from right behind him answered to that comment. "No... I think you do." Lavan turned about with a yelp, facing a rather short man, possibly a boy around his own age, a boy who was wearing a mask, half of it black, half of it white. He passed by Lavan and handed a few papers directly to Sayuri. "You lead the Konoha representatives here in this village. These are writs of passage. With these, you will not be killed if you were spotted without a Yougan shinobi in the vicinity. Enjoy your stay." And he walked back to his desk, taking a seat. Lavan gave the girl, for the voice was that of a teenage girl, a rather hard glare. "She's always no fun... And always interrupting. Nyah!" And childishly sticking his tongue out, he ran out of the office, beckoning the rest of the group to follow. The other members of the Demolition Team, however, disappeared without a trace. |

Yougankure no Sato: Central Tower "Thank...you." Sayuri began to say to the masked girl before she left just as quickly as she'd arrived. "Okay... later..." Then, Lavan ran out of the room. "H-hey! Yougankure no Sato: Central Tower Musashi sheepishly grinned and rubbed his neck as Sayuri teased him. Somehow, he doubted that his father would say any of those things -- in fact, Musashi fully suspected that Naruto would be sound asleep by now; assuming mom, Sakura or Sasuke weren't with him to keep him in line. "Heh, sorry boss!" Musashi replied, saluting her. He wasn't too worried about Yougan's leader, though. If he could deal with Lavan on a daily basis, there was no way Musashi would be crazy enough to get on his nerves. When the girl in the double-colored mask appeared and warned them that they'd need her writs of they could be killed, he just blinked twice and watched her leave. Clearly Yougan was... strict... in their security. Although he suspected that the Konoha team would be skilled enough to survive a misunderstanding, he'd still rather avoid one. Nanami, meanwhile, was still focused on acting official. She bowed once more to the old man and spoke. "Thank you. We will rest and stock up on supplies for a few hours, but we will leave at the first light of dawn." Sama, meanwhile, had managed to not be bored. Mainly because this village was full of sights and smells he'd never experienced. He turned to Ryukku and tugged on her sleeve. "Hey, it looks like the meeting is winding down! Let's explore a little!" He suggested. "I betcha there's some cool stuff to see in this village!" As Lavan darted out, and Sayuri followed behind, Musashi went along too. Nanami hesitated, bowed once more to the village leader, and followed them out -- after making sure each of the team had gotten one of the writs, just in case they did get separated. |
