Unknown City Base Silver nodded. "Regardless, if we can return to your time, we can stop this plan...but...I don't know all the details...the captain of the human unit based in this facility does...where is he, anyway?" A human in uniform inside the room spoke. "He's been called before the counsel. He and the doctor are about to debate policy again." Silver nodded again. "This...this is...you'll probably be confused by this..." he said, as a hologram appeared in the center of the room. At one end was a middle-aged man in another uniform. On the other end of the projection was a dark-haired young woman in a white lab suit. She looked worried, while the man in uniform looked annoyed. Slowly, a group of seated individuals, all old, most in some uniform or another, appeared before them as the hologram showed more of the meeting room... |

-Unknown City- Espio watched the hologram closely, intending to learn as much info as he could...Of course, Vector would probably admonish him about not getting any lotto numbers or stock info. -The Yellow Zone- “So where are we going Blaze?” Sonic wondered, running by Blaze as everyone was escaping, “Got a place to lie low, or what?” Sonic wouldn't admit it, but he was slightly siding with Scourge, in that he'd rather just confront this thing head on...Even though that probably wouldn't work. |

-Unknown City: Base- "...True." He watched the holograms, and sighed. "The power of the Chaos Emeralds...that's what we need. Least, another one...and I'm not sure if there's a reading here..." |

??? EMU noted Doom's command and sped up a little. He seemed a little concerned though about Scourge. Something about the green hedgehog was off... Relocation Camp Fang nodded. "He's been doing some...pretty bad things lately. We're going to slam him before he gets any more moves in." "Now come. We have to rendezvous with Vec soon." He turned away and began to walk. |

Unknown City The holograms (or rather, the people they represented) spoke. The man in uniform looked agitated and firm, while the young woman in the scientist vest looked worried and tense. "Members of the council..." the soldier began. "...we should not stall the attack. Build up slowly, yes, but we should strike now while the iron is hot. We stand on the brink of total victory in this war. In fact, once my teams locate this anthro city, we don't even need to launch a full attack! We can strike it from orbit!" "And why?" the scientist asked. "Why even keep fighting? The nonhumans know that they have lost this war. No further bloodshed is needed!" "Need I remind you, Dr. Ross..." the soldier said, "...the anthros STARTED this war. We thought they weren't a threat when the bombs were launched, didn't we? And look what happened. We had to fight for our very survival. Now, that threat is almost crushed, but until they are TOTALLY neutralized, we should treat ANY non-human presence on the planet as a full-scale threat to the survival of our species!" "More blood? I KNOW that the nonhumans of the past made mistakes, but we cannot simply exterminate them in-" "Doctor Ross, why do you insist that we stay our hand when our race is threatened? Your insistence on such stances has gotten many of our people killed-" "Are you questioning my loyalty, captain? I have helped make thousands of acres of land habita-" "I was NOT questioning your contributions to ecology, Doctor. They have been both ingenious and invaluable in reclaiming vast tracts of land from the nuclear waste. Your expansion of the blue zones and stabilization of some yellow zones are a blessing to us all...but your continued insistence on a weak-kneed approach to mankind's enemies is most...disquieting." The humans in the room that Silver, Espio, Sam, etc. were in nodded or otherwise seemed to support the captain's speech, despite their present company... "-but the ecological damage a battle could produce could destroy-" "Your advice on such matters is sound, doctor, but one wonders if ecology is truly your concern. Besides, many of your peers insist that damage to that area would be fully acceptable. Although I agree that the eclispe cannon strike COULD be overkill, following YOUR advice in combat situations has gotten people KILLED. Or do you..." The young woman nodded. "...you need not remind me of the sacrifices your men made, captain...but members of the council, I implore you, give me time to study the area, that I may..." "Time to study the area? That's what you said at the fall of the machines, or the defeat of Shadow! And both times all your presence did was alert the enemy, or otherwise cripple our forces. Members of the council, Dr. Ross's contributions to the field of ecology are undeniable, but so is her uncanny ability to sabotage our war effort whenever she gets involved with it. I ask you, leave the military decisions to such individuals as yourselves, honorable generals, and consult with advisers less...compassionate...towards those who would exterminate our species." A general on the council spoke. "Well said, captain. With that said, I have tasks for both of you. Doctor, we've received new and unexplainable chaos readings from satillites out in a recently-won yellow zone. It was one of the last nonhuman positions other than their central hub left on the planet. Sound like something you could look into?" The young woman nodded, although hesitantly and even sadly. "Yes, honorable generals..." she said. "Captain, we've received another chaos reading. It is believed to have originated in this very city! We're already combing the city for the result. And, we recently captured some antros, HERE, somehow. Sound like something you could...investigate?" The captain nodded. "Very well. Council adjourned." The holograms vanished. Silver looked weakly at Sam, Espio, etc. "Questions...?" he asked. |

Unknown City Sam's expression remained calm, despite the events happening, he looked over to Silver. "...Those 'non-humans' in the 'yellow zone', was it? Those non-humans...they have a possibility of being the others. And...when they said they recently captured some anthros...they were referring to us, correct?" |

-Unknown City- Espio was…troubled. He followed the others in an attempt to find out what was happening. He barely knew most of these people in the room with him. He couldn’t actively count on any of them for support. And now he was wondering, vaguely, if this Silver wasn’t perhaps a traitor to his species. Selling out others to keep himself alive. After all, what other evidence did he have? Of course, voicing these concerns, Espio decided, would be bad. “How are we going to handle the questioning?” Espio wondered, “And how long do we have to prepare?” |

Unknown City Silver nodded. "They were probably referring to us...as for the others...maybe it was them out there in the yellow zone...but I don't know. Probably, if they have a chaos emerald signature with them. As for the questioning...I don't think it's going to be a problem. We...can trust the captain. He just...has to put on a show..." he said, his voice trailing off. It was clear that real or fiction, it was a hard show for him to watch. |

-Unknown City- Espio only nodded, waiting. He wasn't sure if he could trust this hedgehog, but for now he'd just have to wait and see. This mission would be an...interesting one to report. -Yellow Zone- “So, Blaze, where are we going?” Sonic wondered as they were running off, The Marvelous Meerkat attempting to keep up with everyone. “Do you have a safe place?” |

Unknown City Silver sat in silence, waiting. Eventually, the doors opened, and the captain seen earlier walked in, and chuckled. "Silver...it seems that your mission failed." "Not yet..." Silver replied. "Either way, you appearently haven't carried it out, or it had no effect-somehow. Either way, care to provide introductions?" Silver nodded. "This is Captain Bannon, in the army of the...Dominion of Man..." he said. |

(WHAT?! But TVoL, wasn't this RP dead?!...maybe. But you know me, I don't lightly abandon RPs. :D) Unknown City Base Silver waited, and eventually, the doors swished open. In walked the captain from the holograph-conversation. "Silver! I see you brought friends! And another chaos emerald? Two, by the looks of it; the council picked up other readings in a recently-fought-over yellow zone!" Silver shook his head. "Yeah...that must be where the others landed. These others...they're from...before the catastrophe..." "How much before?" "I don't know...a week? A few weeks? A few days, even?" "You forgot the date of the event, didn't you?" "We first arrived MONTHS before it occurred! We got caught up in Soleanna, and-" "Soleanna? Did you stop it?" "No...as the record clearly shows, the US and its allies still...took the bait..." "And, as we're having this conversation, you clearly failed in your task the efforts to shut down the missiles still ended in failure...but not all is lost..." "Huh?" "We have to send you back...but that may require more chaos emeralds than what you've brought with you...before we do it, though, we need to figure out WHY, exactly, events were STILL unchanged. Or rather, what, exactly, it is you need to do..." "Sonic the Hedgehog still came through." "He did? Alright...but listen to me. Who are your...friends?" the captain asked. Yellow Zone "Get down!" Blaze cried. As she did, the reason was clear: a ship had apparently just reentered the atmosphere...and flew over the area. Slowly, it set down, and opened up. "That doesn't look like a dropship..." Blaze said. A hatch opened, and a young woman in a jumpsuit stepped out, with what looked like a pistol holstered at her side, and holding some sort of scanner in front of her...she was headed towards the Blaze and the group. Blaze was puzzled. "What the..." she whispered. Present-Outside Fort Patton Rouge noticed Vector outside the gate. "Waiting for Red?" she asked. "I wouldn't. He looks like he's not going ANYWHERE for a while. Until they kick him out. Say, you haven't seen Omega anywhere, have you? Or Shadow?" She smirked. "Or that you've got any interest in going up north?" she asked. Present-military base The plane had arrived, and Didymus and Peterson had been briefed on the situation. A contingent of the Egg Fleet had made a landing on Oregon reletively uncontested, and had been slowly advancing ever since. They had been destructive...but slow. They were mostly raiding the coastal areas, and the force, curiously enough, was small enough that once reinforcements arrived from further inland, they could wipe the Egg Fleet out. However, that wasn't the WHOLE story. "Their best hackers..." Didymus remarked, walking alongside Peterson down a hallway to their quarters. "...CIA spooks, with all sorts of fancy hacking tools. You know, I would have suggested we just hire Rouge, but on the other hand, this op is probably too important to leave in her hands. Not that I mind getting away from her, either... ...but if we can find out what the Egg Fleet's doing here, where they're being controlled from, or whatever...that may help us understand just what, exactly, is going on...Eggman's not stupid, he knows a move like this would just get his robots fragged...again, something else is going on here..." |

I can't see what you're imagining

-Teh Future- Unknown City Base Espio didn't know much about time travel, so part of the conversation between Silver and the captain went over his head. But he got what was important from it. “...My name is Espio,” the chameleon said, as the captain inquired on who they were. He offered up no more information. Yellow Zone “Huh...Maybe that thing scans for Chaos Emeralds?” Sonic whispered, glancing to Blaze, “Do you know?” “Humph...Only one pathetic human,” Doom scoffed, “Easy to take care of.” -Teh Present- Outside Fort Patton “I can wait. Crocodiles can be very patient,” Vector said, flashing a grin to the bat, “As for Shadow and Omega, no, I haven't seen them around recently. As for going north...Maybe. Espio's already off somewhere else on a mission. Don't want to spread the Chaotix to thin.” Military Base “Reminds me of the old days, when I was part of the special ops,” Peterson commented, “We may of not of had a guy like Eggman when I was your age, but we did have odd situations.” He paused, looking over all they knew in his head, “This seems like a classic distraction, honestly. Make us focus on one thing while something else happens. I'd bet it's something small though. Not like another frontal attack.” |
