Haven "Last time I checked you can't move on when you're dead..." Jason muttered, feeling conflicted about this. He understood why his mother didn't want Melanie to find out, but also knew Melanie was stubborn and would get herself killed trying to help. The boy groaned, sitting back in his chair and rubbing his eyes. "Who did you get this information from anyways?" "None of your business...." Kanna interjected. |

[Haven] Rica chuckled darkly. As always, he managed to keep his twisted sense of humor vivid even in these types of situations. “We got the information. All that matters is how we use it, Jason.” Rica said matter-of-factly. “And right now, we need to decide just that.” |

Corneria When Asuka joined formation with him, Didymus led her down into the atmosphere. "Follow my lead, Asuka...and try to stay alive, would you? I don't know if we're an item, but I'd still prefer if you lived through this..." Don't they have a wonderful relationship? He led her down into the city, Corneria City, fixated on an island. At its peak, it looks like an urban paradise, at least, as close to one as the Mobians could build. Now, it was war torn. Few buildings didn't show some sign or another of battle damage and scars. Some were blown away, some just had holes, others were simply charred, but the city was war-torn. Pockets of mobain and human resistance were holding out across the city, including the command center of General Pepper-which was under heavy siege. But the sight that greeted the defenders was an awe-inspiring one. A huge wave of transports, streaming down from space through the sky, shimmering in the sunlight. Didymus had taken point. "You know your assignments. New orders to be given on the fly as necessary. Now, people...may God be with us, let's get to work." He streamed ahead, as the transports and their fighter escorts began to break formation and head to their various operation areas. "Check your fire-not everything in the area is hostile. Asuka...come with me." He grinned. "Let's give 'em an air show." With that said, he began targeting things-tracing mortar trajectories on his HUD, identifying patches of enemy activity... And launched missiles at various mortar positions shelling the command center! "Missiles away!" He streaked ahead after that, drawing his main weapon, and opening fire on various colunms of metarex units advancing on any side of Pepper's command center, flying over it, launching more missiles at mortar and other artillery positions, and circling around for a second pass! A transmission was going out from Pepper's command center. It was directing mobian forces to aid human forces in the retaking of three key areas-either Corneria City, resource deposits to the north protected by anti-bombardment positions, or a region containing a getaway for one of Mobius' houses' aristocrats, protected by anti-orbital gun emplacements. [...] Meanwhile, Omega's drop landed him in the middle of a snowfield. Already, shots were being fired around him. The target-the anti-bombardment systems-were on a plateau to his west, and the metarex had clearly dug in around it, firing down on the attackers from the tops! Fighter strikes and even troops on jetpacks were attempting to clear the edge! Mobius “Your highness? We're in the middle of a dangerous situation! We need back up! Humans are here, they've stolen the Master Emerald and killed four of my fellow echindas!” Sally's voice came back. "What EXACTLY happened, guardian?" she asked. "Do we have eyewitness accounts? I hear you're practicing very...lethal...methods. I'm sure General Hall (the commander of the UTR garrisons in Mobian territory) would be interested to hear that some humans were killed without proof of wrongdoing, and I'm sure you wouldn't want me to have to sour my relationship with him..." she said. She knew this was a dire situation, but...didn't want to make it any worse than it had to be. |

-Haven- Erin frowned, not liking the implication that she couldn't take care of her daughter. Before she could voice any objections, the others began to talk of this Burke, and killing him. She didn't know who he was, but from what she could gather, he was not someone anyone liked. “We can't use Galv to help without Melanie knowing,” Ethan sighed, “There's no way he's going to be able to keep this a secret to her.” “I could help some...at least be a distraction...” Ethan paused, looking up. A tall man in a hoodie had appeared from a booth by their's, looking a little haggard. “...Sammy?” Ethan asked, the man sighing as he removed his hood, looking at the group. “What are you doing here?” “Looking into things,” Samuel frowned, “Now do you want my help or not?” Samuel was trying very hard not to look towards Rica. “Hmmm...” Lily said, thinking now, “Then when we're done here, why don't we explore some more? We can do anything you think looks like fun, alright?” Finally, a stray thought managed to come through to Galv, noticing that Melanie was acting a little odd. He pulled back for a moment, concerned. “Are you alright?” he wondered, “You seem...off about something...Did you want to watch the movie instead...?” The thought now going through his head: “I'm a horrible kisser and now Melanie wants to break up with me.” D: -Angel Island- Azmuth frowned at the echidnas. Stubborn bunch, he thought. “I'm afraid to report it was Burke,” Azmuth stated, “The renegade Time Lord...his signature is all over the Shrine...” He frowned, eying the echidnas, “Now think, if these humans had killed your comrades and stolen the Emerald, why would they still be here? Why would they be defending themselves instead of going after you like the others?” Azmuth had little patience for stupidity. Unfortunately for Azmuth, that ended up being most of the known galaxy. -Corneria- “I got it back when Mobius was attacked last...It came to me, when my Arwing was destroyed there...” Fox answered, “Said I was chosen...” He shook his head, “Come on, we have more to do...” He held up the ring to his head, focusing. “Okay, we have the capitol city under attack, and defenses in the northern tundras to take care of. We should split up,” Fox said, “I'll head to the city. Falco, want to come with me?” “I'll head north then,” Shadow frowned, because he and Omega need to meet in RftS after like a bazillion pages finally. “I'll go with you!” Silver said, wanting to stay with his 'father.' “I'll go to the city,” Sonic said, “I don't care much for snow...” Omega would have grinned if he could, locking unto several targets. His shoulders shifted, revealing racks of missiles, unleashing them on dug in targets, before blasting forward, aiming for the nearest one to start tearing apart. This was when he was the happiest, about to bear down on an enemy and destroy them. |

[Haven] Rica blinked. Well... this was awkward. It took a lot for Rica to feel awkward – but this was one of those few situations that could do it. Still, Rica's main focus was on Burke. There was a good chance that Azula would warn Burke, and this whole thing would be a trap. “You'd be a big help.” Rica said simply. “We still have an issue, though. Not only do we need someone to train Kanna to become stronger, but we need to find Burke.” […] Korina smiled. She was officially happy being around Lily. This lady was very nice, and Korina was happy to have found a new friend! … Dumb, dumb Korina. “Okay! That sounds like fun!” The young girl said, bouncing a bit in her seat. [Angel Island] The scarred echidna was getting pissed. He had a deep seeded hatred of humans, and he especially hated the idea of humans standing here, on the Shrine of the Master Emerald. It was sacred ground! These fleshy pink things had no business standing here. Azmuth's logic was wasted on the scarred echinda. Even Knuckles is known for being extremely naďve and not thinking things through; and this scarred fellow has about 1/4th the brains of Knuckles. However, with Sally demanding proof, the scarred echinda had a problem. “... With all due respect, your majesty, you think too highly of these humans and you give up too much to them as it is! We echidna aren't going to back down! These humans have desecrated the Shrine of the Emerald, and they must be put down!” … Oh, and he's no fan of Sally Acorn. … “Burke!?” Sama gasped, spinning around to Azmuth. While Sama may not have had the bad experiences with Burke like the NERV group did, the boy had lost his mentor to Burke's hand, and he hated the man with a passion. [Corneria] “I'll go to the city, too.” Knuckles decided, having no clue that he was reeeeeeeeally needed back at Angel Island right about now. […] “Bah! I'm not dying to the Metarex! I've already been eaten by the Zerg, I don't need any repeats.” Asuka is just ever so lovely. The Metarex units were all around. Asuka charged up her mech, the hands glowing with burning flames, and then she let loose a flamethrower from the hands, burning away at the nearest Metarex squad! |

Haven Kanna looked up at Samuel, caught off guard for once. She wasn't expecting to see him...After all he had pretty much abandoned his son not that long ago... "What makes you think I want to work with you?" Kanna asked, moving to hand Solanna back to Erin (a bit too distracted to criticize Erin on her parenting skills right now) before standing up and glaring at Samuel. [...] Melanie bit her lip and shook her head quickly. She seemed to notice that the boy looked flustered...And worried. "N-No it's not that" Melanie said quickly "It's just-" Suddenly Melanie jumped, turning her head to see the boy in the hoodie standing in the aisle next to her. The boy then gave a look to Galv before leaning down, pushing Melanie's hair to the side and whispering something to her. "You're mother is talking about you. I can tell" Melanie's grip tightened on Galv's arm, but quickly she stood. This in turn brought Galv up as well as she pushed past the boy in the hoodie and pack out of the theater. The boy just continued to follow. |

[Haven] Rica flinched. He wanted to discuss an actual plan... but now Kanna was having a battle with Samuel. This entire evening was getting worse. “... I don't suppose we could focus on killing the deranged sociopath who has experimented on us and tried to kill us for decades, could we?” Rica asked, very sarcastically. |

Corneria Corneria City “Bah! I'm not dying to the Metarex! I've already been eaten by the Zerg, I don't need any repeats.” Didymus grinned a mild bit, and pulled back a tad. "Stay on me, Asuka, I'm going to try to direct..." He DID continue to fire at the occasional target. "General Pepper, we have forces moving up and securing a perimeter around your command center, prepare any casualties for medevac..." The UTR had established a perimeter around Pepper's command center and were pushing out, additionally, Republic forces had cleared up drop zones on the exterior of the city-Republic heavy walkers and tanks were moving up with infantry and air support. The besiegers were themselves now besieged... "...Asuka, come with me..." Didymus said. "I've got hostile units on my scope, we need to keep control of the air if we're to reestablish control of the city..." He rocketed off towards an advancing wave of metarex craft on the horizon... But the space battle was on his mind... ...those positions near the special target will be giving us trouble..and where...where is a gap in their formation? Where can I outmaneuver them...? Father?...wait! Wait, that's it! "And get ready to do something really crazy when we're through with these things..." he said. Asuka may have noticed that the fleet above the city was apparently starting to give... Refugee center "There's also the aristocrat retreat and a small farming village nearby..." Pepper's voice came. "There's some anti-orbital guns there that will give the fleet trouble, I know the humans are already attempting to get on that..." he said. Resource fields Omega's missles impacted, silencing many metarex guns and allowing some infantry, usually on jetpacks, to start carving out (or at least, more quickly carve out) a beachhead of sorts on the plateau. Suddenly, in front of Omega, a large metarex suit came crashing down! It swung a giant hammer, energized, and simply nodded to him, as if offering respect to an opponent it was impressed by... Farming village Metarex were everywhere. But there was one mobian holdout. Or rather, hideout. Outside of the retreat itself, some horse mobains kept their heads down as battle raged around them. Their charge was holed up nearby in a small house, and they had no intent of letting anyone near her without proper clearance. Ghost Team was not looking for "proper clearance". "I have eyes on two guards, we can take 'em out from here and move in, sir. Recommend we do it, if they catch us they'll sound the alarm and stealth may be impossible once we bag the target." a female voice, over an ultra-secure channel. "We have to get close. This is a war, but just in case, I'd rather be absolutely certain it looks like metarex killed them in melee." a male voice, on the same channel. "I'll take the one on the left, you take the one on the right....wait..." The guards cried out. The metarex had found them, and fighting had begun. "This could be easier than we thought. And harder. We have to move, now. Moon maiden must be extracted alive and in condition to be interrogated." The three-person team began moving, quickly but stealthily, past the guard perimeter, now distracted by the metarex search party that had been checking for survivors. Mobius “... With all due respect, your majesty, you think too highly of these humans and you give up too much to them as it is! We echidna aren't going to back down! These humans have desecrated the Shrine of the Emerald, and they must be put down!” Sally paused, not liking the tone she was being addressed as. "I believe I am QUITE capable of making decisions of state." she said. "That is NO way for a loyal and tradition-honoring echnida to speak to the queen. Now take the humans in for questioning, but GENTLY." she said. She knew there was no proof, but the situation was suspisious enough that questioning was required. "If you harm humans with no good reason I'll have a hard time convincing General Hall not to station even MORE of his forces in House Echnidna's territory." she said, clearly not amused. |

[Corneria] “Control the air, huh? Alright… I think I can do that. Just keep those things off my ass!” Asuka’s mech was tapped into her. It was part of what gave her such a high sync-ratio with her mech. It operated at her will, much the same way her own limbs did. It was also tied to her powers… she could amplify the flames of her mech with the flames she could create. Asuka’s mech spun around, and the hands of the mech opened. Flames spewed out, hitting the metarex as she flew by them. She wanted to try to fry as many as she could. [Mobius] “You DARE speak to ME of tradition and loyalty?” The scarred echidna snorted. “If you had any respect for tradition, or any sense of loyalty, you would not bow before these human swine! The law is simple, your highness, any who approach the Shrine without permission must be put to death!” The scarred echidna crushed the radio in his hand. Then, the echidna punched the diamond barrier once more – and it shattered! “That’s not good.” Kevin immediately turned to metal, ready for a fight. |

Black Omen: Training Facility For a moment, there was stillness. Silence. Calm and meditation were the only things that existed. This silence, uninterrupted, unbroken, eternal... Lasted for just a few seconds, but they might as well have lasted an eternity for the meditating one. His motions were sudden, explosive, almost impossible to follow as other figures exploded into motion around him. The idea of action without thought is an old one. It is amongst the most ancient arts that humanity has achieved and retained, even through the ages of technology as science began to prevail. Meditation and all linked skills were considered rather esoteric, but they were always passed down as a form of art in schools, in libraries, amongst history texts... And there was truth amongst them. For many, meditation was a way to calm the mind. For others, it was a way to focus. For yet others, it was a path to enlightenment as their body was left to act autonomously as they explored sensation no other could. And then, there was Munenmuso. It was an art, much like meditation, but it was an active meditaiton. It freed the mind from all the extra data that it processed, removing the constant thought and control of motion, leaving it to the body as the mind rested and pondered other things. It was a way to build energy instead of spending it. And any martial artist worth his salt would tell you that it was the ultimate state of mind in combat, where you could not afford to think about your next reaction, where you had to act before you could even begin to think. The human mind was truly a wondrous thing. But for psychics... For those whose minds have developed so far beyond the normal, it was a state of even more power. It was a way to conserve and build psionic energy without wasting it, while the body simply responded to physical memory. It was the same case that was displayed now. A dark and enclosed room, almost completely unlit but for a single candle in the center, and a young man surrounded by what looked like a horde of men dressed in suits, all equipped with some weapon or another. It was hopeless numbers against a single person, an overwhelming force that would topple the greatest of fighters. But the shape in the center, calmly stepping between attacks as they came, avoiding bullets before they were even fired from the gun they were loaded into, proved the hopelessness wrong. Flare after flare from his pistols lit up the room, taking down target after target as more gunfire came at him from all sides, simple arms that could be picked up even by civilians. These bullets were avoided before the triggers were pulled, the young man stepping out of their trajectory right before they were fired. Incoming men with crowbars, baseball bats, wrenches, tire irons and other assorted heavy and blunt objects were simply stepped around and dropped with a vicious elbow, knee or foot as the young man twirled around all of them, his vacant, snake-like, golden eyes glinting in the candlelight. He did not think. He acted. Shooting left to take down a possible threat and removing one pistol-wielding agent from the equation started his most recent combo, before he picked up one leg, avoiding a built shot before slamming said leg into the stomach of another incoming brute, sending him backwards and pushing himself back just enough to avoid another bullet. Another man came in from the side, only to have an arm loop under his own outstretched one and grip him by the shoulder, flipping him over the young man to be used as a shield against several more gunshots. The young man half-ducked, sliding one foot to the side and lowering himself as another man propelled overhead from a leap, only to drop backwards as a bullet occupied the space where his head used to be just a mere second ago. With a spin, the young man jumped into the air, avoiding a wild swing of an axe and setting himself feet-first into another man's face, before using the face as a platform, back-flipping over incoming gunfire and landing on another agent, snapping a few shots off around him. This continued almost endlessly. Men came and dropped like flies, piling on the ground to provide cover for the young man's enemies, only for them to lose the advantage as he used them for cover himself. And through it all, the same vacant, blank expression was settled on his face as he escaped injury after injury, death after death. A dance impossible to imagine, but beautiful to behold as he remained unscratched by the weapons, only lightly bruised from his own exertions and maneuvers. But then, his pistol fired off its last shot and a loud ring sounded through the room as the bodies, the room and the candle simply vanished, leaving a well-lit chamber in its place, leaving the young man to stand in the center, his pistols still smoking, breathing heavily and sweating, but looking more alive than exhausted. His blank expression slowly vanished, replaced by a somewhat brief acceptance before settling into monotony, and he stretched, moving back to the rack which held all of his equipment and the various utensils for him to clean up. It has been a year and three months. A year and a fourth since he had disappeared off the face of the galaxy, vanishing without a trace after his recovery on the Battlecruiser. One year and three months since he last saw any of the faces he had met, any of the people he helped. One year since he vanished from right under Rei's nose, “kidnapped” by Detsy Nova and sent back to the Omen to recover. By outward appearance, he was no different from before. Still constantly wearing his pilot suit as a state of fashion, still as well-tanned and golden-eyed, with still as unusual of a hair style. But personally, he changed. No longer was he so completely BLANK to things. He reacted more, he answered more, and he expressed himself more often as his mind caught up to actual human development, finally integrating the emotions he had been so closed off to. And with the help of Sechs, Elf, Zwölf and the ever-present Alita, Jagan has made a wonderful recovery from his mental disassembly. It had been a few difficult months for him at first, as his mind sought a point of reference and he simply sat where he was, staring into nothing as he tried to remember things about himself and came up short. With his mind so dissociated, Desty Nova kept him under lock and key, slowly bringing him back within permissible mental parameters before starting his physical therapy. THAT had been harsh, but it was something Jagan sorely needed. As the young man reviewed the various events that sparked over the last year, he cleaned off the excess sweat off his brow and sighed deeply as he stepped under the nanite shower, cleaning himself in a scant few seconds compared to water without ever taking off his suit. Then, having settled down after the exertion and adrenaline, he stepped out of the chamber, collecting the data of today's test, just as he had done before for the past six months. It's surprising how many things could happen in a year. He not only recovered but also aided the Professor with defending the Omen from yet another assault from these strange, alien lifeforms in nigh-indestructible armor and shielding. This time, the assault wasn't nearly as invasive, Nova having countered their technology before and doing so much quicker this time, letting the rest of the work be done by Alita, Sechs and Jagan. It wasn't without consequences, of course, as Jagan was wounded and Sechs was reduced to atomic dust at one point... But Sechs was an android and was rebuilt with ease, and even upgraded with some very specific tech to prevent similar things from happening in the future. Jagan recovered well from the wound and the following nerve-frying shock that left him all but paralyzed, and now he was finally finished with his training, well above his past level of ability. As he waked towards the bridge, he couldn't help but sigh though. If there was one person that he missed terribly was the girl that somehow managed to invade his mind in all the strangest ways. Rei, the girl he never even got to say goodbye to before he was recovered. They were too far to communicate, too far to even sense one another as the link grew stronger every day, trying to connect them, to no avail since they did not exist in the same space or time. All he knew was that she was still alive and well, and he hoped that it was something he wasn't mistaking. He never even realized how TRULY important the girl really was at times, how really like him she was. Born of similar adversity, born a blank slate, she moved past it and started to become a human. He was grateful to meet someone like him, but back then, he really did not pay as much attention. Now? Now, as time passed, he began to really miss the girl and her silent companionship, her ever-present ACCEPTANCE, even if he was just as different as she. So lost in thought, Jagan finally made it up to the massive bridge of the enormous behemoth of a space station/ship. The door slid open before him, and he ignored any other noise as he made way to his usual seat, gliding into the chair behind one of the consoles. He didn't pay attention as the conversation quieted on the bridge as he entered and sat. For a second, there was silence, before the boisterous voice of Sechs finally broke the veil that settled on the bridge. "... Jeez, it's like you're in an entirely different world, Jagan. What, remembering something nice? Or did you hit your head again and need another few months to recover from the trauma?" A smack followed by Sechs' yelp of irritation as one of Desty Nova's personal cheerleaders, Elf, smacked him upside the head. "You idiot! Can't you see that he's in thought and doesn't want to be bothered?" Sechs snorted. “It's kinda hard to miss that vacant expression. What, Jagan, remembering an old sweetheart or something? Or did you manage to get your hands on my private stash of adult magazines? … Have you finally hit puberty dude? It's about ti-" A second whack interrupted his rant as Elf repeated the gesture from before, only this time more solidly. "Hey! What gives?" Elf just glared at him. "I am pretty sure that Jagan is NOT interested in your private collection, Sechs... Or what you do with it." Sechs just grumbled in return, but shut his trap as Desty Nova finally spoke from his high seat/throne on the bridge. "I assume you have your test results, Jagan?" Jagan nodded, reviewing the data pad he retrieved from the exercise room. "Yes. My efficiency has improved by a total of 10.3 percent from my previous statistic. I can resume my duties at any time, Professor." Desty Nova just chuckled. "You don't need to hurry, my dear little experiment. While you have improved on everything, it seems that your perceptive abilities have dropped recently. Something on your mind?" Jagan shook his head. "No, professor." Desty Nova just grinned again. "Oh, come now. You're being reclusive again. Do tell, I do want what is best for you after all! Is that not what a father does?" Jagan looked back at Desty, shooting him a rather suffering glare. "I am pretty sure that no sane father would ever put their child through dissection without anesthetic." The other man just waved off the accusation without any sort of care. "The son also shouldn't be a multi-layered genetic experiment on both physical and psionic aspects of human Karma. Now, do speak up, or I'll be forced to do something drastic." A giggle escaped from one of the twin girls behind him. "Like the time he tried to force-feed Sonya flan?" Her sister giggled just as lightly. "Or maybe that time when he attempted to put Sechs into a hamster wheel?" Sech's cry of indignation overshadowed the two giggling girls as the android exploded. "HEY! YOU PROMISED NEVER TO SPEAK OF THAT AGAIN!" The shout only caused the two female android to erupt into laughter, which was soon joined by the Professor's light chuckle. "Very well. No matter. Jagan, events are yet again beginning to converge. You have recovered, and it is time that I send you into the world yet again. This time, I want you to take a more active stance against those that consider themselves galactic enemies. I won't tolerate failure." Jagan stood up, snapping off a smart salute, finally more lively than he has been before. This was something that he couldn't even hope for before. Perhaps, he could even-... He ignored the following thought, focusing back on the Professor as the insane scientist spoke. "I won't be there this time. I shall remain on the Omen with my studies. The androids shall remain with me as well, and so will Alita, but only for now. Once some time has passed, I will also send Alita as my second agent as your backup in case you need it and to fill some of my more... Esoteric orders. In the meanwhile, you will still be free to act. Is that clear?" Jagan nodded quickly. "Yes sir. When do I leave?" Desty tapped his chin and grinned. "You leave... When I say and not a minute earlier. Now, dismissed! I have things to ponder! Plan! Create! Destroy! And possibly hamsterize!" It was to Sechs' groan and the giggling of android women that Jagan left the bridge, rushing towards the Andromeda. It was finally time for him to return to the real world. Behind him, Desty Nova just grinned and looked straight at Elf. "Prepare us, Elf. We'll have a visitor before long. Do put out the good china." And he sat back, smirking in content. It was finally time to pick up the slack... |

[Black Omen] Tracking Desty Nova down through time and space was not a simple task. The quite “mad” professor was as brilliant as he was insane, and his technology was powerful. Certainly, there were those who could challenge Nova’s technology – a few of the top scientists at TerrInt, the malevolent Mister Burke and the most dapper Doctor – but Nova was skilled at keeping himself hidden. She had been looking for Nova for quite some time. It had been nearly thirteen months since Jagan had disappeared without a trace. She had wanted to find him immediately, but Rei Ayanami was distracted by the “passing” of her mentor. “The Doctor” – at least the one she had known, was not really the Doctor at all. He was a clone of the Doctor, a clone that’s creation was a mystery, as was his purpose. On the days leading up to his death, the clone had begun to remember bits and pieces. A dark planet full of never-ending wars and storms; a planet ruled by a terrible and powerful being. The Doctor’s clone was created on that planet. He never did remember why, or how he had escaped – but he did remember that the dark being on that planet was a threat. The clone had tried to warn the true Doctor, but he had suffered a massive heart attack before he could. The clone had finally realized that his death came as a security measure – he had died because he remembered. Rei had vowed to get to the bottom of things, but first she had to find Jagan. With the skills she learned from the clone, she had done just that. It had taken her a long time, but finally she was here. In a sudden glimmering of light, Rei appeared in a hallway on the Black Omen. Finding it had taken her months, and discovering a way to sneak into the Black Omen was even harder – but Rei had accomplished both. Now the blue haired girl walked down the hall, exploring the Black Omen. She had a feeling that Nova already knew she was here, so she would just wait for him to find her. |

Black Omen The Omen itself was a structure far more enormous than it seems at first glance. It was a full standalone space station and warship cross-breed, and the sheer size of it was not something one could miss. Almost 10 billion cubic kilometers in volume, the massive structure was just under half of the volume of the Earth's moon, and as such had an ENORMOUS amount of area dedicated to Desty Nova's various crazy pursuits and experiments, which also included many, many kilometers of safe and self-cleaning testing grounds. It was an easy thing to get lost within the many hallways and enormous chambers within the station. However, Rei didn't have an option to go anywhere but forward. As she chose a path to follow, she found locked doors, closed passageways and blocked-off paths, as if leading to her destination. Doors and barriers closed behind her, preventing her from going back as well, herding her to one of the main elevators. There, she was taken up the elevator, across a few more hallways, through another elevator and then through a short passage which opened... To reveal the bridge of the Omen, Desty Nova sitting already directly opposite of her entrance, hands folded, fingers entwined and self-satisfied smirk firmly in place. In front of him stood a makeshift table with two teacups and two plates of flan. "Salutations, my dear Rei. I hope your trip wasn't all that difficult to make, since you definitely took quite a bit of time getting here. I also hope you weren't attacked by any of my autonomous systems, but I doubt they would unless you decide to kick them beforehand. They're like cute little puppies, actually, just with very, very sharp, energy-based, long-range tooth shooters. They're cute and lovable, but kick one and there's... None of you left! Heehee!" He motioned with a hand. "Sit, sit, my dear vi-sitor. Sit, drink some tea and eat some flan. It's GOOD for your BRAIN." As he spoke, Elf stopped quietly from the side, bringing with her a teapot from which she poured both cups full and then just stepped back, watching. The bridge was empty of all presence now, except for Nova and Elf, the other two having disappeared previously to take care of their own devices. |

[Black Omen] Rei was not surprised to find that the doors and hallways along her path were blocked off, locked or otherwise inaccessible. She had a feeling that there was a good reason she only had one path available to her; Nova wanted to see her. She did not mind playing his game. Rei was used to the unusual habits of a mad man, and at least Nova was not as homicidal as Gendou Ikari had been. She followed the path until she came to a short passage; and then she found herself face to face with the master of the Black Omen. Rei did not sit down, nor did she move to take the flan or tea that was offered to her. She stood with a blank expression on her face, and she seemed as emotionless as ever – but it was untrue. Beneath her blank exterior, there WERE emotions bubbling just behind her eyes. Powerful emotions, the likes of which she could not have imagined a year ago. Even if he had been a clone, the Doctor she’d known was still based on the Doctor – and he had helped her come out of her shell. At least, as much as was possible for Rei. “No thank you, Professor Nova. I have not come for nourishment. I have come to see Jagan, as I’m sure you already know. I also have questions for you, but you know that as well.” Rei stepped forward and finally sat across from Nova. She was dressed differently than she had been in the past. A dark jacket, and several holsters were new additions. She also had a strange watch-like device on her wrist. “… First of all, tell me why you took Jagan away from me before.” Rei's question was simple, but her voice was stern. |

Omen Bridge Desty Nova watched Rei with a sharp eye before smiling a rather small, creepy-looking smile that was only made more frightening by the strange contraption he wore as glasses. "My, my, so businesslike. And rather rude too. My dear, hadn't The Doctor taught you any manners at all? When someone offers you a meal, it is only polite to accept after all." He let out a chuckle, watching her ever more intently. "Do not worry though. It has not been tampered with, poisoned or otherwise spiked, don't worry. I am just being a good host, and you're so far proving just a barely adequate guest. As for your questions..." Desty Nova nodded several times. "Yes, yes, I did take him. And I had a reason, and even more than a few of them, but it's really not much of your concern. Jagan is my property after all, and as such it's entirely up to me how to treat property, now isn't it? I can answer your questions, but seeing him... Well, it doesn't really work that way. Not until you offer something in return." He finally leaned back in the chair relaxing a bit. "I took him because he needed it. While your mind could have potentially accelerated his mental development, it could also have possibly damaged his mental orientation. I had a chance to lose his loyalty and his complete dedication to my causes. That would have been... Unwelcome, especially in the face of coming events and struggles. It is a bit on the frustrating side when a toy develops an unwelcome trait, isn't it? "Beyond that, I also took him here to recuperate. The training facilities here were perfect for his rehabilitation, and he has already admitted to me that his efficiency and ability is ten percent higher than they were before the mental shattering that he was subject to. In addition to this, his body was due for a slight... Upgrade, especially since the Andromeda was due for a similar upgrading. My technologies advance every day, after all, and it wouldn't do to have the machine any less advanced than my masterpiece on mechanized infantry and assault technology." |

[Omen Bridge] Rei was not happy. She did not mind being called an ungrateful guest. She really did not put much stock into what people thought of her. True, she enjoyed it when people treated her like a human being instead of a property, as Ikari had done, but the opinions of others carried very little weight. However, when Nova referred to Jagan as ‘property’, it made Rei feel an unfamiliar feeling that she could only describe as anger. She was still adjusting to even having emotions, and anger was one that she had not quite gotten a handle on. It was a nasty feeling, one she could happily do without – but right now it was on her mind. “Jagan is not property.” Rei said very bluntly. She was already calculating the probability of Nova’s defenses in this room. She assumed he would not have seen her face to face without several forms of defense. He likely had something to shield him from her guns, and from her abilities. Without knowing how he planned to counter them, it would make it very difficult for her to actually make a successful attack. “I understand your way of thinking. It is very similar to someone who I once knew. However, your way of thinking is wrong. I was once just like Jagan. I was nothing more than a tool for the use of someone else. However, I have grown beyond that. Jagan too is capable of such growth.” She stood up. “Professor Nova, I have absolutely no desire in any unpleasantness between us. I have great respect for the technology you have created. However, I do intend to see Jagan, no matter what obstacles are put in my way. I would respectfully ask that you take me to him, right now, and do not attempt to interfere any further. If you are will agree to these terms, in return I will be happy to work for you. I’m sure you will find my skills extremely useful to your endeavors.” Rei paused. “Should you refuse, I’m afraid that I will be forced to become an extremely rude guest and terminate your life.” Yeeeah... Rei learned a lot from the Doctor's clone, but she still did some things her own way. |
