The girls seemed amazed as they heard the language of their country come from the boy who was obviously not. The girls giggled and watched him closely before all nodding at his question.

"Of course" Noa now said, eager to say something. She then stepped forward and bowed. She looked up. "We are just very excited to meet you!"

"Yum!" Melanie exclaimed, recieving the ice cream cone and tasting it happily."Thank you again" she said for the second time in the last few minutes.

Is there something else you want to do?”

Melanie wasn't sure what she wanted to do honestly, afterall she had snuck out yet again and would probably be padlocked to her room if she was found. Not to mention Kanna may kill Galv if she saw him...Oh and there was the whole house arrest thing. Melanie looked down unhappily.

"You don't have to hang out with me, I mean I'm still under house arrest I think and my mom is really mad." She looked up "I don't want to get you in any trouble"

"Colonel," Samus spoke up, but she did not bother turning around to face him. She assumed he would stop and listen to what she had to say. "I have a reason for every bounty I take, and every one I do not."

It was a cryptic statement, but by now she knew what was going on. Philanthropy was able to do what they did because they were very good at obtaining information secretly. Didymus' ship might have been secure, but Nourasia was not. Nanomachines, a lot like the ones in Sama's watch, were currently all over the dining area and the surrounding halls.

Otacon had sent several in along with Samus to monitor the situation and make sure the Krog didn't surprise them. Those nanomachines were still in place, monitoring the party and conversations -- not to spy on the Nourasians, but to insure that there was no further 'unexpected problems'.

So, they had picked up on the call the Nourasians had received, and relayed that information to Otacon, who sent it to Snake, who passed it on to Samus.

Continuing with her statement, which she expect Didymus to understand, she became very blunt. "There are some times when it's best to just not get involved, don't you think?"

Jordan did not like the idea of sneaking away and risking Don Wei's wrath. Even less did he like the idea of Molly dragging him along on another crazy adventure that would put them both in serious danger. He followed her for now, but there was no way she'd talk him into doing something crazy!

And guess what, your the first one to use the guns in our new racer. Higher ammo capacity, faster shooting time, and a bunch of other pretty amazing little quirks.

". . . Awesome!" Jordan looked like a kid who'd just been told that for Christmas, he could have a candy store. His eyes widened and his jaw dropped -- the new racer was incredible, and if the guns were as great as she said . . .

Yep. She'd just talked him into agreeing to whatever she wanted, no questions asked. He'd probably regret it later . . . but right now he did not care.

Eva knew that would work, the girl wasted no time strapping herself in and powering the Arrow Four up. The giant Star Racer roared to life and the control panels in both the pilot and gunner’s pod lit up. Now Eva had played around with this new racer a couple of times (Don had made her learn a few new tricks to show off to potential businessmen) but this time she had one of her best friends, and the most talented gunner she knew, at her side. This would be a fun ride.

Eva revved the engine slightly with her foot and looked into her comlink with Jordan. “You ready gunner boy?” she said with a laugh.

As hesitant as he might have been before, the giant smile on Jordan's face was evidence that he was having fun. The newest Arrow really was as nice as Molly described; and as he sat in the Gunner's pod and wrapped his hands around the controls, he knew he'd made the right choice.

"I was born ready!" Jordan replied, looking over to the comlink. He suddenly blinked, realizing something that he had not thought about before in his excitement.

"Hey . . . wait . . . we're in the Forum, just what am I supposed to shoot?" He tilted his head. He was sure Molly had some plan, though, and as long as he got to fire the new cannons . . . he'd be happy.

“Oh you’ll see” Eva said slyly revving the engine once more before bringing the Arrow Four up into the air. In an instant they were flying high above many of the buildings in the Fourm, the citizens looking like little dolls from their distance. Of course Eva wasn’t really sure if she was supposed to be flying around this area, afterall Don Wei only had a small amount of airspace by the hanger approved for the business deal, but truthfully Eva didn’t care. Where’s the fun in flying around in circles?

After a few minutes up in the air the two teens came upon a section of the Fourm used to hold various supplies such as food. Most of the warehouses were large and clean, looking almost brand new, or very well kept. But as the two continued it was apparent that not all warehouses received the same treatment. Near the back of the group stood older buildings with broken windows and dirty appearances, they were probably scheduled to be replaced soon. Around them sat piles of scrap metal and plastics. In other words, there was a lot to shoot at.

Eva flew by one of the buildings to check if it was empty and when she realized it was she turned to her comlink. “Fire away Jordan!”

As Jordan's eyes befell the old, warn down factories and storage houses, heaps of junk plastic and scrap metal, the young soldier was ecstatic!

On their first fly by, Jordan waited on baited breath to know if the buildings were truly as desolate and emptied out as they looked. When Molly gave the all clear, his targeting screen was on in a flash and his hands twitched around the trigger.

"Alright!" Jordan yelled, opening fire. The first stream of lasers cut into the empty building, ripping holes like someone was dropping small balls of fire on top of an ice cream cone. When she'd passed by, there was a streak of laser-holes along the side of the old warehouse.

"Stan and Koji really stepped up on this one!" Jordan was impressed. The cannons were destructive, fired smooth and it was simple to aim! This would be fun.

Nourasia

Didymus paused at Samus's remarks.

She's not even looking at you...

He even chuckled a bit.

"Not to get involved? Perhaps it is best not to get involved sometimes, but duty is duty. It's not the military's job to decide whether a civilian has or hasn't perpetrated a crime, miss Aran-it's the court's."

He sighed. Why did this have to be happening now?

"Of course, who's to say that that's why I'm here? I suppose I'd have a word with the...fugitive in question, if he's here. But who's to say that I'm not here to enjoy a formal event? To share in Nourasia's celebration?"

Of course, he was encouraged, if at all possible, to try to talk Vash into surrendering, if possible, but he was not supposed to try to arrest him, not like this. He was, again, in a dress uniform, armed only with his "officer's weapons"-a pistol and saber. His bodyguards were, on the other hand, very well armored and armed, but nonetheless, his orders were not to try to personally arrest Vash-but if Nourasia allowed it, a deployment of ground forces deemed necessary for such an action was authorized/encouraged/ordered, later, at least.

With his own reply, he proceeded, or at least attempted to proceed, past Samus and into the dining hall where Ben, Nori, and others were.

Republic fringe colony

Another call-in, and another reply from 4-0:

"Yes...we'll do what we can to feed the taxxons, and remove the yeerk hosts from them-alive." he said.

-Nourasaia-

“Well, I’m glad to meet you too,” Ben said to the girls, “I’ve met a lot of different aliens before, but this is the first time I’ve been able to see a Nourasaian. You all seem very…” he paused, looking for the right word, “Errr…polite.”

-Nourasaia: Stables-

Using his Sonic Screwdriver, The Doctor entered where the giant beetle-like creatures that the Nourasaians flew were kept. Off in a corner was an inconspicuous blue police box from the early 1960s of Britain.

“Vash…” The Doctor said, looking to the fellow humanoid, “We both know you were not the cause of the July incidence…I was on that planet. I wish I had been able to stop it.”

He sighed, shaking his head sadly, “If you want, we can head back to the dining hall, and you can try talking your way out. Ben and I will back you up however we can. If not, I can take you back to Philanthropy Headquarters in my ship.” He indicated the T.A.R.D.I.S., the large blue police box.

“It’s your call.”

-U.T.R. Fringe Colony-

“Alright then…” Erek King said, “The rest of my people are being informed about the situation…But, they will not reveal themselves unless needed to…And don’t bother searching for us…”

Smiling, he reached into what looked like his pocket, pulling out a small metallic disk.

“If I don’t return in three hours, you can use this to contact some allies of mine,” He said, and tossed it. Peterson caught it with a free hand, looking it over.

Erek then pressed a button, and the lift closed, his hologram changing as the doors sealed shut, and descended into the darkness…

-Galactic Forum-

Galv smiled slightly, “Well, I’m glad you got out, even for just a little bit…And don’t worry, I shouldn’t get in trouble.”

He paused, licking his ice cream again. “Well, if you have to go, you have to go…I hope I can see you again soon though.”

Eva knew Jordan was having an amazing time with the new guns, what kind of guy wouldn't? Of course all she needed was speed. Eva slammed her foot on the gas and sent the Arrow speeding towards one of the warehouses. It looked as if they were going to slam into the crumbling wall of the warehouse until Eva turn, only a second from sure disaster.

"Turns on a dime" Eva stated, not fased the slightest as she continued, now turning and flying through one of the huge warehouse garage doors and out another.

"So you gonna help me show off this baby to the old guys tommorw?" She asked refering to Don Wei's meeting.

Nourasaia

The group of Nourasain girls giggled. "Of course we are" Noa said with a smile. "We must be afterall, we're young ladies. Are the females of your planet not the same way?"

Galactic Forum

Melanie took a few licks of her icecream and shook her head. "But I don't want to" she stated before groaning loudly. Not at Galv, but at the whole situation. "I'm tired of my family" she vented "I think I'd rather be like you, no parents and all. Waaaaay more freedom."

Jordan had flown with Molly enough times to know she was a fantastic pilot -- but he'd crashed with her enough times to worry whenever she pulled stuff like that. As they flew through and out of the warehouse, he filled the crumbling building full of laser -- just because he could! The warehouse fell apart just as the Arrow Four got out.

"I've gotta admit, this is by far your best Racer ever!" Jordan acknowledged in a rare quiet moment. Of course, the cannons roared to life again soon as he took down a giant pile of scrap metal.

With a grin on his face, he nodded furiously. "Of course I'm in! We'll give those old guys the show of their lives!"

"When it's impossible to prove one way or the other, the courts often side on popular opinion." Samus replied swiftly. She wasn't a big fan of the U.T.R. Government . . . they had let her down once before, when rather than destroy the last of the Metroids, they had tried to study it as an energy source -- a decision which resulted in the Space Pirates stealing it, and the chief reason there were still Metroids in the universe today.

"... Good day, Didymus. I hope we never find ourselves on opposite sides." Samus walked away. She knew Snake and Sama both wanted a cooperation with the U.T.R. as much as possible, but she had made a promise once, and the Chozo had taught her never to break a promise.

Stables

Vash gave a little sigh and leaned against one of the large bugs, gently petting it's head. The bug, perhaps because Vash was a plant, did not seem afraid or angry towards him. Instead it softly nibbled on his gloved hand affectionately.

"No . . . I can't talk my way out of anything. And even if their leader would listen to me, I've seen what men are willing to do for the sixty trillion bounty on my head... someone in his unit would arrest me or kill me for the money. There's always someone."

He sighed. "Maaaaaaaaaaaaan! I just wanted to eat donuts and entertain the kids." With a shrug, he stepped towards T.A.R.D.I.S. "Alright, Doc, I guess I'll go see Snake. Maybe I can have some fun at the forum..."

"Awesome! It'll be just like old times!" in a move displaying her excitement (or perhaps craziness and lack of regard for danger) the girl pulled the steering towards herself, sending the Arrow 4 into a mad flip over one of the buildings. This was a move that she hadn't done too much (Don always freaked when she did) but she loved it none-the-less. Her mother, the famous Star Racer Maya Wei, was once known for this move.

"Mol-leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey!"

Jordan was used to this kind of stuff, but whenever she started getting too fancy with her tricks, he always got nervous. Especially when he wasn't expecting it! (Not that he could -- Molly seemed to do these things faster than he could think. She was a speed freak.)

Jordan shook his head. He wondered how angry Don Wei would be if he had seen this. Oh well -- Jordan couldn't stay worried, mad or in any other negative emotion while he was playing with the guns.

"Heh," His attitude seemed to become better as he blasted away a broken building's chimney. "This is gonna be fun!"

"When one side or the other cannot be proven, a more through investigation may well be launched...listen, I know corruption is possible, even in a trial, and even error, but just because it happens a few times DOES NOT mean that it will happen all the time, or even often! If one side or the other cannot be proven, than the accused is acquitted, remember? The burden of proof rests on the accuser. Granted, simple logic and what seems to be true are also key factors in a case, but regardless...you know, this isn't going to get anywhere, is it?" he said.

As Samus walked off, Didymus fired off a remark back at her about her hoping they never were arrayed against each other.

"I hope you really mean that, miss Aran."

Why does my sense of duty always put women off? he thought, and chuckled.

With that, he entered the dining hall, looking around for Aikka, Nori, or someone that could tell him what was going on/wanted to talk to him, or what have you.

Before she could leave, Samus had to say one last thing. She remained calm, but her voice was curt and sounded angry.

"Sometimes, the truth cannot be proven, but alternate theories -- incorrect theories -- can find enough weight to be believed. I've seen many guilty men walk out of court free, and many innocent ones taken away in shackles. I won't argue with you . . . but I will stand by what I believe. Whatever that means."

(okay, so Didymus is in the dining room, but as this conversation continued...)

Didymus nodded gravely.

"I am well aware, miss Aran, that sometimes the truth cannot be "proven" per say, and that sometimes, things may not be what they seem. I am well aware that incorrect theories can find enough weight to be believed, inside and outside of the legal system. I know that the legal system can be flawed-but to decry it as a whole is not right, either. And I don't think you're doing that. Regardless, I respect your opinions...and I'll guess that you, however begrudgingly, respect my sense of duty."

He didn't mention that Samus's dealings with the Republic, as long as she and her connections continued to hide Vash while he still was suspect, were over-unless they were in conflict.

(And remember, Didymus is in the dining hall, this is, like, retrospect conversation or something. XD)
