[Orion] Rica looked down at Laila as the three-month-old made a few little sounds and opened her mouth cutely. He wagged a finger in front of her face like a toy, knowing that the baby enjoyed trying to grab at it. He enjoyed these moments. Even if things weren't perfect with Kanna, and even if the insanity that comes from five babies was more than most people could ever hope to handle, he still enjoyed it. He had raised Felix, and helped Jason exist, but Felix had already been a teenager, and he never knew Jason at these ages. It was a new experience, and one that the man actually enjoyed quite a bit. […] “I'd love some help,” Felix sighed happily as he grinned to Aiden. He was grateful for her. As much as he tried to do to help, he never could have accomplished any of it without her help. It was a wonderful experience, to have such a friend, who was always there for him... He paused, shaking his head. No time to think that way right now. [Plumber Battleship] Sama winced as he was smacked, and winced even worse when he heard the day of the week. Sunday? Was that even possible? It had felt like Thursday for sure. He shook his head. He had to stay busy! He was almost there, and once his work was done he could finally clear his name and end this exile from the Republic... Then she gave him a smile. He liked that smile... it was hard to resist the idea of real artificial sunlight... and the company was wonderful as well. He gave a tired sigh and nodded. “Oh, okay! Let's go for a walk.” He finally decided. […] Otacon was at the control deck. Of everyone, he seemed the happiest. He spent all day on a gigantic battleship built by the Plumbers – it was the pinnacle of technology and Otacon found it a paradise in the Helix Nebula. Then, a radio transmission. He frowned as he saw the source... Desty Nova? Of all the names from the past... “... Hello, Nova. This is Hal Emmerich. How can I help you?” Otacon had to be careful. He was no fugitive, but Sama was, and he could not rule out the possibility Nova wanted to turn the man in for the reward. [Zohar] KOS-MOS stood at the station, walking around in a sundress and a large hat. A cloaking device was used to hide her android body, and make her appear to be a rather normal young woman in the crowd. She suddenly paused as she sensed chaos approaching. Her radar beeped and soon she saw him. With a warm smile, KOS-MOS approached him, seeming far more active and lively than she had a year ago. “How did it go?” [Office of the Vice President] Aucturus Mengsk had survived the fall down the stairs, and was relatively uninjured from the experience. He was a surly old man, who still had quite the ambitious drive behind his public persona. Mengsk wanted power, absolute power. More than a President had. He did not simply want Riley's job... he wanted a new job. A United Terran Republic was fine and dandy, but a Galactic Empire seemed like a much better idea. Of course, that plan would only work if they had a truly fitting Emperor. While there was a senator Pantene (or something of the like, Mengsk was bad with names) who seemed ambitious, Mengsk clearly preferred himself in the role. Suddenly, a holographic project appeared on his desk. Mengsk gave a smug smirk back at the face on the other side. “I do indeed have power.” Mengsk replied shortly. “The years have been extraordinarily kind to me. The same cannot be said for everyone... but we have precious little time, so let us spare the chit chat and get down to business.” [Mobius] “... You daydreamin' again?” A red echidna with dreadlocks leaned against a tree, not far from Sonic. While the Hedgehog might have headed to the middle of nowhere, Knuckles had found him. It was what he did. Well, that and sitting around watching giant glowing jewelry. [T.R.S. Crusader] Rinoa Caraway. She still was not used to that. The uncomfortable pantsuit she could get used to. The fact she was not allowed to carry a wrist-mounted weapon at all times, she could get used to. The idea that she was an Ambassador for the United Terran Republic, an official of their government, a representative of their people, and a common sight of their military were all things she had accepted, and made peace with. But the name. She just had to take the late General's name. It was an odd feeling. “... We're here.” Cyborg was at her side, still in the role of her bodyguard. Now he was an Ambassador's Aide, as was Beast Boy. The two both seemed quite eager to be aboard the Crusader. “Thirty bucks says we end up getting arrested.” Beast Boy grinned. “Oh, hush.” Rinoa silenced him as the trio trudged on. |

T.R.S. Crusader “The new personnel are here. A couple new pilots, Ambassador Caraway, and several others have arrived. Do you wish to greet them?” "...yes. Hold on...Rachel..." he said into his com-link. "Sir?" "Bring the lunch to my quarters, would you? I'm going to go greet the new arrivals." "Yes sir." "Thank you...come on Omega, let's go." In a few moments, they were in the hangar. So much was on his mind. Suspicion cast at the vice president himself-those papers and documents he had in his war room contained highly sensitive material from Riley's office. And he wasn't the only suspect of corruption. Then there were the battle plans, Philanthropy chasings, and his own social situation...but finally, he stepped into the hangar. There she was. No longer in that weird blue cape get-go, the (in)famous daughter of the late Fury Caraway herself. "Ambassador." he said. "Welcome aboard. I don't see the others here so far, so for better or worse, it seems your entourage gets my attention for the time being." He paused, tempted to imply that he was arresting them again-but decided against it. "You'll have to be checked, of course, but it's just proceedure, please cooperate with these marines..." he said, as some marines approached and started to look them over. "Once they're done, I believe we have your berthing arrangements worked out, so if you'd come with me...or, I suppose, ambassador, you may join me for lunch...I could probably use a break, may as well spend it getting you settled into our ship in some way. Regardless, I..." This girl. She's responsible for HOW MANY deaths? Your brothers' blood will cry out from the soil of the battlegrounds SHE caused. He blinked with a slight shaking of his head. They may have noticed it. Still, he regarded them cordially. "From what I understand, you've done a decent job for us out there. So thank you, and again, welcome aboard...Ambassador Caraway. And to the two of you as well." |

[T.R.S. Crusader] Rinoa tensed up when Didymus appeared. The two had a complicated history. He was a loyal Space Marine Officer, having served proudly for a long time. He had laid his life on the line time and time again for his planet and his people. Rinoa had been a terrorist. In the old days, she called herself a 'overly-ambitious activist' or a 'righteous rebel'. And while she still held onto a few ideals from those days, she had come to understand that words could do things that guns and bombs never could. She had been dreading this meeting, but in a strange way, she had also been looking forward to it. “... Colonel, might I have a word with you in private, as soon as the security is done?” The guard's would search the three, and of course, there were no weapons. Well, Beast Boy could transform into any animal, and Cyborg had several thousand ways to destroy a person, animal, robot or star-ship all planted in his titanium body – but those weren't removable. |

T.R.S. Crusader “... Colonel, might I have a word with you in private, as soon as the security is done?” Didymus paused. "...um, of course. In fact..." the security finished up. "Omega, take these men to the mess hall. Tell the cook not to let them eat TOO much, though." If they were to depart, Didymus would gesture Rinoa to follow him. "Come on. I don't know if you consider these halls "private", if not, we can talk in my quarters." |

-T.R.S. Crusader- Omega accompanied Didymus to the others, looking over them carefully. His optics strayed to Cyborg, a man who was mostly machine. The two had briefly met before, but had never really conversed. "Omega, take these men to the mess hall. Tell the cook not to let them eat TOO much, though." “Understood, Comrade Didymus,” Omega stated, then turned to the group assembled, “The mess hall is this way. Please follow me.” Omega turned to lead them down the hall. One of the new people was a new pilot, a young blond haired man named Luke Skywalker. His father had been a pilot before him. “Wow...” Luke muttered, looking around, “Never thought I'd actually make it to a ship like this...” -Orion- “Yay! And if we can finish up quickly, we can do something fun!” Aiden grinned. “We could go for a walk, or play a game or something...” Or something, to Aiden, probably met television or pestering Galv and Melanie into playing a board game or something with them. Possibly not the same thing for Felix though. |

[TRS Crusader] Rinoa nodded to her bodyguards, allowing them to head off to the mess hall. The two ran so quickly, she was surprised there were not skid marks in the floor from their initial takeoff. As soon as the two were walking down a hall, Rinoa sighed. “It's private enough... listen... I'd like to apologize for our mutual history. In my youth, I did some things I did not fully think through. I rebelled, against... many things. My actions had consequences, and I cannot change the past.” Rinoa shook her head. “... However, over the past year, I have worked to make a difference. I've managed to salvage two economic deals, and make one of my own. I've also convinced some rather stubborn alien governments to cooperate in ways that previously were unheard of. I realize I got this job as a 'Ambassador-in-name-only', but I have gone far beyond that.” She took a deep breath. “I won't ask for your forgiveness, but I will ask that you cooperate with me. I will not patronize you by pretending that I disagree with many aspects of the Republic's government and how things are done... but I have realized there are many people in need, and I can do far more good in this role. I no longer consider you an enemy, and I would hope you will be able to say the same, in time.” Rinoa paused, and then nodded, as if she had decided she had said enough on that subject. […] “Alright!” A young Ensign had just been assigned to the Crusader. His name was Munro. Ensign Munro! He was the active commander of a controversial unit in the Republic, called the Hazard Team. Their job was to go into situations that were the worst of the worst. The Team consisted of Munro. The others members had all requested transfers, or simply not returned from their last mission. Hence, Munro had been sent to the Crusader. “Hey, nice to see ya!” Munro called to Luke, who was standing nearby. [Orion] Felix blushed a bit, but he knew Aiden well enough to know what she was thinking. Besides, somehow, despite being raised by Rica, Felix was not a total creeper. “Sounds fun! But who knows how quickly we can finish... seems like there's always something...” Well, there are five babies. |

T.R.S. Crusader Didymus listened as Rinoa spoke. "In your youth, you say?" He looked over her. And looked over himself. "I'd say we're both still in our youths, Miss Caraway. “I won't ask for your forgiveness, but I will ask that you cooperate with me. I will not patronize you by pretending that I don't disagree with many aspects of the Republic's government and how things are done... but I have realized there are many people in need, and I can do far more good in this role. I no longer consider you an enemy, and I would hope you will be able to say the same, in time.” Didymus listened, and reflected. "I was aware of your coming a while ago, Miss Caraway, and I was unsure what I would do." He paused. "I would wonder why you wouldn't ask my forgiveness, or that of the fam-" he stopped himself before he got much further into that. "-I'd say I'm far from the formost one for you to seek forgiveness from, even if I'm on the list." He looked over her again, sizing her up. I'm sorry if you'd call this a betrayal, brothers. This doesn't mean I forget you or devalue your sacrifice...but God's laws come first. This really is...the best way. If she's repentant... "Should you threaten this Republic again, I, or someone like me, will be there to stand 'gaisnt you...but I stopped considering you an enemy...a while ago. You may not have ASKED for my forgiveness...and it may be hard for me to emotionally give it..." He raised his arm, offering a hand to her. "...but I offer it nonetheless." |

UTR Maximum-Security Prison, Commnunication Office The gray-haired man seemed completely unperturbed by Mengsk. The man was curt and to the point... But Dewey knew this was just a pretense. Mengsk wanted HIM, not the other way around. Dewey would have never left his cell unless called by someone from up high, and Mengsk was that person. Apparently, there was need of him yet... Maybe his plans weren't truly gone after all. "Indeed. Cutting the chatter would be MOST beneficial for both of us. I grow tired of sitting in a cell, and there is something you called me for. Something you need me for, and badly. So... What is it, Mengsk? What's got you diving into the deepest pits of hell to retrieve a man who is supposed to be dead?" Through it all, Dewey remained calm, unintimidated, and didn't even show the briefest spark of annoyance. He held himself perfectly in check, and even seemed relaxed. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Helix Nebula The moment the apocalypse's signal was picked up, Desty Nova just had to click a few buttons to begin the process. This began a surface scan of the direction of the picked up signal and turned the ship's autopilot in that general direction, turning the Apocalypse onto a much more direct course. As the ship moved, Nova brought up the communication screen, and yet again pulled a plate of flan from beside him, taking a spoonful just as the communication connected. "Aaaah, greetings! Otacon, really, don't be so formal. I certainly do have something I care a great deal for on your ship, so I am not stupid enough to try and become an enemy. Not this time. I am approaching with far more... Peaceful and prosperous prospects." As the Apocalypse closed in, it performed a perimeter scan, finding the ship that was hiding in the Nebula and surface-scanning it, leaving Desty Nova with a massive grin. "I see you have also decided to up the ante and get a new ship as well. Philanthropy and the Plumbers are alive still, I assume. Nevertheless, this can be discussed more thoroughly in person. Permission to come on board?" ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Zohar chaos grinned as the girl approached him. KOS-MOS really looked quite normal these days. Whether it's by preference or by design, she always seemed to enjoy masquerading as humans these days, though she still quite often appeared in her original form. Not like chaos cared more either way. She was still KOS-MOS, and he wouldn't have her any other way than she was now. Giving a wave of greeting, he ran up to the girl, meeting halfway and tapping his strange half-vest. "I have the documents. There were almost no guards, so your diversion worked marvelously. I didn't have even a single Power Armor suit in my way. This was a piece of cake, the man was extremely careless." He chuckled a bit. "The cameras probably picked up my face though, so I might have difficulty coming back there. Still, I have the documents and that's enough. Hopefully, these will help Sama's goal in clearing his name and turning Mengsk in for good." His look changed to one slightly concerned then as he looked over the girl. "How did your side go? Any damage? Anything unusual? Are you all right?" |

Orion "Well don't you two look adorable" At the sound of a familiar voice all three babies perked up, knowing that their momma wasn't far away. In fact Kanna stood in the doorway, clad in a black dress (though not quite as form fitting as her previous one) and sporting a half amused (and half exhausted) expression on her face. Even though Kanna was known to be notoriously ill-natured even she couldn't resist a smile ever now and then since the children were born. They were beautiful babies and and brought her back to a time where she was much younger. Of course she instantly masked any cute expression with less than cute words or threats. Along with her personality her overall being had taken on a few changes. She seemed shorter now, as she gave up on the ability to wear her boots after dealing with a lack of balance and swollen feet. Her hair was also tied up tightly in a messy bun (as a compromise with Melanie after Kanna insisted she just cut it all off). She also carried herself differently, but that could have just been thanks to the lack of energy the woman now possessed. "I thought I heard you two bothering the babies..." Kanna said, making her way in the room but not moving to snatch the babies away. "I thought Melanie was staying with them for me?" [...] “...It's almost ready,” Melanie blinked, suddenly realizing just what Galv was talking about. He now-usual indifferent expression brightened considerably. "Is that where you've been all morning?" she questioned, though not at all mad about it. In fact the girl had been looking forward to the prospect of running away for awhile now. After all ANYTHING had to be better than living here. [...] Jason blinked as Erin 'allowed' him to leave but gave another grin none-the-less, taking this as one of Erin's rare moments of not being overly attached. "You sure?" he asked, knowing the girl was perfectly able to change her mind in less than three seconds. Unknown Yeerk Base Jade nodded (though Ben couldn't see it) focusing and suddenly gaining the ability to use faze through walls. It was a strange power but one that Jade had spent the last year perfecting. And by perfecting I mean using it to pull pranks on people while they sleep. Especially Ben. Jade fazed through the door easily enough, peering out into the next room in order to see if there were any unknown threats. Strangely enough the room was empty....But that didn't mean that danger wasn't close! "All clear" the girl muttered as she reappeared with a grin, now visible to Ben. Plumber Battleship "Perfect!" Crystal said cheerfully walking past all of Sama's strange research and boring papers in order to take him by the arm and lead him out into the hall. In the last year the two continued their relationship and were still happily dating....But in the recent month or so Crystal had become more and more worried, especially as Sama worked longer and longer on trying to clear his name. |

[Orion] “She was,” Rica stated at once, smiling to Kanna for a moment before turning his face back to Laila and making a few funny faces to amuse the baby. “But taking care of three babies is a lot of work for someone so young. Laila here was a bit cranky, I thought I'd give a hand.” While Kanna had changed in the last year, Rica thought it was for the better. The woman seemed a bit calmer, and even a bit more outgoing. It seemed that, for whatever kind of dysfunction that existed there, the odd, mismashed group had become... A family? Was that what they were? Rica thought of it that way. [T.R.S Crusader] Rinoa listened, still waiting on baited breath. It was never easy, or fun, to deal with those who she knew would still view her suspiciously. She had done many terrible things, and there were many in the Republic who saw her new position as a mockery of justice, another example of someone with wealth and privilege able to skirt the rules. Yet, she had negotiated many deals that had benefited the Republic. Some that strengthened the economic ties with allies, and one deal in particular had helped get new technologies for the Republic's military. The girl who had once sought the destruction of the UTR Military had now played a role in keeping them a strong force in the galaxy. She took his hand and shook it briefly. There was something odd about shaking hands with someone who she may have tried to kill in the past. “Thank you. That means a lot. Anyway, enough talk of the past! You mentioned something about a meal?” Some aspects of Rinoa had not changed. [Office of the Vice President] Mengsk's eyes narrowed a bit, his aged face intensifying. He looked stern, but also amused. The corner of his mouth flared a bit and he leaned back in the plush leather chair in his office. “... Very well. I understand you have a... certain reputation. I assume you are familiar with the dangerous, inhuman beings from beyond the stars who seek the destruction of humanity? I need someone who can deal with these creatures in the only way that you can.” [Plumber Battleship] Sama was still hoping to finish his research and clear his name; but it was very hard to ignore his girlfriend. He smiled a bit as she took his arm and soon the two were out into the hall. The Plumber's Battleship was gigantic, much greater than the Ragnarok, and it had a host of facilities aboard. The young man smiled, and put his arm in her's, and let out a small, and somewhat happy sigh. “I'm sorry I've been so distant these last few weeks. But I just get the feeling that something is going to happen soon... this'll all be a bad memory, and we'll have done some good to boot.” That's what he hoped, anyway. […] Otacon nodded to Nova as he leaned back in his chair and adjusted his glasses. Otacon always had a mixture of enormous scientific respect and personal apprehension when talking to Nova. He was in awe of what Nova could do; but he was also horrified by most of the details. Otacon let out a small sigh and nodded. “Philanthropy is still alive, yes, and the Plumbers much more-so than us. You're welcome aboard... but we have to ask you to behave. This ship belongs to the Plumbers, not Philanthropy; we're guests here too.” [Zohar] KOS-MOS smiled to chaos. These days, her smiles were no longer rare sights. She had taken to her new life in stride. She may have been developed to be the ultimate WMD; but KOS-MOS much preferred missions when she could disguise herself as a human, and fix things in a covert way. “I am pleased you were successful. Everything on my side went... unusually well. I was able to cause a distraction, but I did not see any of Burke's known soldiers, nor anything worse than basic security forces. It is possible that he is actually gone...” KOS-MOS shook her head. “Let us hurry...” Suddenly, three men in Power Armor appeared from nearby, running towards chaos. |

T.R.S. Crusader Didymus was still a tad uneasy. This was still the girl who had always slipped away, who had always come back to cause more trouble, who had the blood of so many of his brothers on her hands... ...but she was sorry. She regretted it. She...it appeared she had turned her back on those ways...on that side of her. She still may not have liked various aspects of the Republic, but she served and strengthened it now. Without complaint or disagreement. God first, and this is what He wants...forgiveness. Grace. Mercy. Forgive, as you have been forgiven... He nodded. "I DID mention a meal, Miss Caraway. Your aides have been taken to the mess hall-I've left instructions for them not to be allowed to empty our stores, but I imagine they are still there. I can take you there myself if you like...as for me, I've had my own lunch taken to my quarters. I intend to go there soon, but first, I think there are a couple other new arrivals I should welcome aboard...you're welcome to join me-for that and lunch, if you like-otherwise, unless you require direction, I shall bid you good day-for now, at least." |

[TRS Crusader] “Other arrivals?” Rinoa's face perked up a bit. “Oh! I had heard you were getting some new personnel. I didn't realize they were coming on the same day as I was...” She paused for a moment. Her stomach urged her to hurry to the mess hall... it had been a busy day already, and Rinoa had skipped breakfast that morning. Still, she was an representative of the Republic now, and she felt it was probably best to go and greet these new personnel. “No, I'll come with you. It is the polite thing to do.” |

Orion Kanna merely gave a nod, supposing that the girl had gone back to her room in effort to hide from the overwhelming presence of babies. Hiding in her room was something Melanie did a lot nowadays, never quite getting used to the idea of being a big sister. It was a worrying concept but the woman pegged it on teenage angst, or the shock of not being the baby anymore. She wondered if topic such as this were covered in parenting books.....Who was she kidding? Even Dr. Phil wouldn't touch this screwed up family! Laila cooed reaching for her father's finger, catching it after a few tries. She was nowhere as strong as her siblings but her little hands was strangely warm. It seemed, like her older brother and mother, she would inherit the power over light. This made her secretly excited but also worried, as Jason had always had more problems than Melanie had, including problems with his eyes. But the baby girl seemed fine so far, with bright eyes that seemed unaffected by strange abilities. Sure she was a bit fussy, but that was just her taking after her mother. "I think i'm going to go out..." she announced "Maybe take Melanie somewhere...We've both been cooped up for awhile now..." Plumber Battleship "It's alright" Crystal said contently as she strolled along with him through the ship "I just hope what you feel is going to happen is gonna be good and...you know...not get us all killed." She gave a small laugh before thinking "Though when we can go wherever we want I wouldn't mind a vacation. When was the last time you went to any of the Earth colonies? [...] "Sonikku isn't around? Awwwwwww" Amy whined before going very quiet and staring at Silver. "Unless you're covering for him! Out with it! I think you DO know where my darling is!" [...] Meanwhile, in the small greenhouse-like space within the ship where various vegetables and fruit as well as a few flowers were grown a small plant girl was sitting down. The girl, Cosmo was awake but sitting perfectly still with her eyes closed-meditating. Comso had grown a lot within a year. Though still young she was now carrying a great deal of maturity on her shoulders, as the princess of a fallen princess. |

T.R.S. Crusader “No, I'll come with you. It is the polite thing to do.” Didymus nodded. Now she's finally acting like a general's daughter. He decided not to voice that. "Very well. This way, then..." Back in the hangar, Didymus finally found Munroe and Luke. "Gentlemen, good day, and welcome aboard the Crusader. I'm the local CO around here, and I've heard enough about you both to anticipate good things from you. Might I introduce Ambassador Rinoa Caraway-" he gestured to her-"and First Lieutenant Rachel Silvit-"-she had quickly made her way to the hangar, and he gestured to her. "She's my aide and the one responsible for fishing me out whenever I've drank myself into a gutter." He hoped that humor would not be lost on them. "She'll take you to your berthings. Unless you have any questions for me, though, go along, stash your gear, and get some lunch. Which is what I intend to do. I'll be seeing you gentlemen later." Unless they had a question for him, he would turn to leave. Rachel nodded to the newcomers. "Again, welcome aboard." she said. "This way, please, I know you probably want to get settled in." If Rinoa had stuck around, Didymus would have regarded her again. "As I stated, you're welcome to join me for lunch if you so desire, otherwise, I'll show you to the mess hall where perhaps your own aides are, or to your own quarters." |

[Orion] Rica smiled at the baby girl, feeling a strange bit of warmth from the girls hands as she played with his finger. He wondered if she was taking after her mother in the way Jason had. As much as Rica enjoyed playing with the baby, his attention was diverted – briefly – as Kanna mentioned she was going out. “Good. You've been doing nothing but taking care of the kids lately, you deserve a little time for yourself. Melanie will probably enjoy being around you, too. I think she feels a bit neglected lately.” He gave Kanna a smile, and then turned his face back to Laila. Yes, Rica, who had once followed Kanna around like a puppy, was now equally obsessed with the baby. [Plumber's Battleship] Sama rubbed his neck. In truth, he wasn't quite sure if it was a good feeling or not; but he knew better than to worry her when it wasn't necessary. “I promise, we'll be okay! No matter what happens, we always seem to come out doing alright.” Sama grinned to her. Then she mentioned the Earth colonies, and memories came rushing back. It had been years since he had visited any of the colonies... “I'd LOVE to go to the colonies. It's been... oi, I can't even remember how long its been.” Sama shook his head. “It's a date. And it'll be fun! We'll find the nicest colony we can and have a blast, a big celebration...” […] “Having fun?” A tall blond man wearing a red coat was walking through the greenhouse when he noticed Cosmo. Vash the Stampede liked this greenhouse almost as much as Cosmo... ALMOST. The girl seemed to love it here, and Vash could tell why. He walked over and dropped down, crossing his legs and giving her a smile. “I hope I'm not interrupting. I can offer you a donut, though.” [TRS Crusader] “Thanks chief.” Munro nodded with a tip of his hand. The young man gave a small sigh and picked up his bag – which was full of weapons. Rinoa, meanwhile, followed behind Didymus. “I'll join you for lunch. I am supposed to brief you on a few things pertaining to my work, so this is the best way we can do that.” Rinoa gave a small grin. |
