[NL Apocalypse]

Rica shrugged his shoulders.

“I'm sure it's one of our fault. Still... think about the good this means.”

Rica gave a little smile, trying to reassure her in some way. He approached her, but paused and stopped, unsure if he should get too close or not. Kanna was known to stab him with needles from time to time.

“... You've raised two wonderful children. Now you'll have a third. It's really not a bad thing, Kanna.”

NL Apocalypse

"You say that because you don't have to carry around a kid for nine months..." Kanna said bitterly, unknowing that carrying around one kid wasn't quite right...But she'd figure that one out later.

"No do you have to throw up every five minutes....Oh god how am I going to tell Melanie?"

This was a very stressful day.....

"I need a drink"

Another joke (?) Even Kanna wasn't that horrible (?)

Outside Burke's Ship

The ship was falling apart at the seams. After KOS-MOS busted a hole in it, the hull apparently couldn't withstand the pressure of escaping air and tore away at the rest of the hull support.

Whatever that ship was made of, it was surprisingly flimsy.

chaos watched it as it simply came apart. Maybe... Maybe Burke wanted it gone if he ever ended up dead? A self-destruct device? Possible... The boy closed his eyes, bracing himself when the ship's reactor went critical and detonated. Luckily, the two were already a good distance away from the exploding ship, so neither the shrapnel not the shockwave actually reached them.

Peeking one eye open, chaos let out another sigh.

"I hope you're right, KOS-MOs. We don't know where the Apocalypse is. In fact, it has been a while since the Ryo-Ohki left, isn't it? We took quite some time fighting him..."

chaos once more stared at the remnants of the ship.

"I hope he is gone. For good. I truly hope he is."

He looked at KOS-MOS and smiled happily.

"And thank you. For saving me again."

[NL Apocalypse]

Rica frowned, and this time he did approach Kanna and cautiously placed a hand on her shoulder.

“I can't imagine the struggle you'll have to go through; but I know you've been through it before, and far worse. I know you're strong enough to make it... and to make it sober. You have to think about the baby now.”

Rica reminded her.

[Space]

KOS-MOS shook her head.

“He is gone... at least, I hope he is. I want... I would like it if I could... if we both could... have our own lives now, free from Burke, forever.”

KOS-MOS offered a slight smile.

“We shall find the Apocalypse... there must be a way.” KOS-MOS told him. “And I require no thanks. You are my friend, and you would do the same for me.”

Suddenly, a ship appeared in front of them. The Ryo-Ohki, having just teleported in. Washu, it seemed, knew where they were.

“Welcome aboard, chumps! I thought you two might need some help... so climb on it!”

Space

chaos nodded emphatically to KOS-MOS's declaration of wanting a life free of Burke. He was all for that. Without Burke, they could now focus on helping others instead of keeping themselves alive, and thus move on to bigger, greater things.

Maybe he could now finally start searching as to why it was that he could remember places he was sure he had never been to before. How he could know some of the things he did, how he was such a natural when it came to both martial combat and engineering work.

And what his powers truly were.

"Washu! Am I ever glad to see you and your ship here! I don't know what anybody says about you, but if you came to help us out, then you can't be so bad. One wonders why it is that you work with such an amoral man like Nova..."

Nevertheless, he did help KOS-MOS. His body now mostly okay, the electrical damage healed by his own natural regeneration, he could now offer aid to KOS-MOS's propulsion, thus allowing them both to maintain a very steady, darn perfect course right to the Ryo-Ohki.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Space, Elsewhere

The NL Apocalypse has been drifting through space for a while now, simply drifting on through a massive gas cloud that made detecting very difficult. Giving more or less of a break to the people inside (which wasn't much of a break after all, even the Professor would admit to that). Finally, the ship broke through the opposite edge of the massive gaseous cloud, returning all scanners to full operation.

Desty Nova wasted no time. The moment the ship was out, he set Sechs to calculating their current position and possible routes. He picked up a distress signal from Jagan's personal monitors, but after checking them, just chuckled and left the monitor to beep.

Jagan could take care of himself now. He was a big boy, so it as time he acted like one. Besides, contact with Rei was ABSOLUTELY MARVELOUS! It advanced Desty Nova's plans a great deal. Perhaps activation of the Omega Drive wasn't that far off after all.

Nevertheless, right now he had much more things to worry about. The Maar replica was gaining more and more psychic patterns as time passed. It was about time he transported it onto the Black Omen for further study. He had to finally start searching for the pieces of Program Merlin and that super-brain-chip, Melchizedek.

Of course, he would not be informing The Doctor about his plans. That man would try to stop him for... Obvious reasons.

No, he still had a lot to do here. With the NERV people still on board his ship, multiple paths of study open to him, and the endless space reflecting in his eyes, he couldn't help but start chuckling, before dissolving into uncontrollable maniacal laughter.

This was going to be a LOT of FUN from now on!!!

And as Nova laughed his fool head off, the NL Apocalypse accelerated into space and vanished, diving into Hyperspace and heading towards its next destination.

Orion.

Time Skip!

One Year Later

The galaxy had come to a very shaky peace within the year. The Metarex attacks had slowed to almost nothing, other forces also seeming to keep their bay. The galaxy was able to have a slight breath of respite.

But as the solar cycle came to a close, plans, villains, and more, were coming to fruition. The year of peace was merely the eye of the storm, much worse was to come.

-Orion-

A red haired youth moved quietly through the streets, coming to a stop at the shipyards. He peered at the ships, then sneaked through some of them. Most of the workers didn't give him much mind. They had seen him there for almost the past year, looking at the ships.

He climbed into one, an old junker, and began to tinker with it. There was a few flashes of light, and then he left, looking a bit weary and worn out. Along the way he placed his hand on a street lamp. When no one was around, electricity sparked from it, draining some into the boy. He sighed softly, then hurried back off.

Galv felt much better...and Melanie would be happy. He almost had the ship ready to go.

Suddenly...Babies.

In a large house bought with Plumber money, the former NERV folk were put up, in order to try and find some peace in their lives. Of course, that was difficult with now five, three month old babies around.

Samuel was attempting to cook something, holed up in the kitchen.

Erin was asleep on the couch, her and Jason's child, a baby girl named Solana asleep in her arms as well.

The others were elsewhere, as I have more to type.

-The Righteous Indignation-

Peterson's flagship moved through space, looking out into the void. It had been calm this past year...It did not sit well with Peterson, who had wanted to find the Zerg and take them out, for the death of Asuka.

-Veidt Enterprises-

Adrian Veidt looked at a blue sphere before him. It almost seemed to hum, secured within a pedestal.

“The Ray Sphere...” he said softly, “With this...I will be able to trigger the next step of human evolution. These aliens we face are formidable...but when we have our abilities, we will not be able to be stopped...”

Veidt smiled. Soon, his people would find the perfect planet to test the Ray Sphere on...

-Eggman Fleet-

“A year of preparation! A year of building!” Eggman laughed, “Ohhhh, this army will be a formidable one...Yes...with mine and Wily's designs, we shall be triumphant...”

Eggman chuckled, and began to inspect his troops.

-????-

Somewhere in space, ships began to materialize.

“EXTERMINATE.”

Orion

Melanie decided that she wanted to be a kid again. Things were much simpler then...

In the course of a year the young girl found herself thrown into an ever changing environment, surrounded by people she cared about gaining a great deal more responsibility and suddenly leaving her in the dust.

Jason went from being her carefree older brother to a busy, responsible, and slightly frantic new father in a period of one year. Through Erin's entire pregnancy the boy found himself worrying over every pain the girl had or strange behavior (for almost a month Jason was convinced Erin's strange food cravings were a product of a miscarriage) and it was only until the baby was in his arms that he relaxed....A bit.

As much as Melanie didn't approve of Jason lack of time to spend with her over the course of nine months she had to admit his daughter was beautiful. The girl, affectionately named Solana, was pale with bright blue eyes and (rather surprisingly) a tuft of curly dark brown hair. While she came from a pair of frazzled in their own sense parents the girl had a surprisingly good nature, sleeping most of the time and causing her parents only a small amount of stress (which was mostly self-induced actually)

Now Solana was a happy three month old baby, and Jason was nearing his twentieth birthday in a month, hoping it would be spent relaxing rather than being chased around by a hormonal two month pregnant woman....Not that he would change that for anything....

Melanie would have been able to grudgingly handle things if that was the only change that was thrown at her, but suddenly the girl found herself facing another big shock after just getting over the fact that her brother would be a dad.

Melanie found out her mother was expecting a few weeks after Kanna learned of the news, the woman taking the utmost care not to let the girl know until she had no choice. That time came when she was finally starting show leaving a very flustered woman to explain to her thirteen-year-old daughter why she had suddenly gained a good deal of weight.

Melanie took it calmly in front of her mother but then proceeded to punch the stuffing out of her bedroom pillows when she was out of her Kanna's sight (much to the dismay of Galv)

Kanna's pregnancy was a bit different than Erin's...Especially after about five months when she was getting seriously concerned about why she was getting so big. Before now she refused to know anything about her child in fear that it would somehow set Rica or Ethan off (since they were still fighting about who had been lucky enough-Or unlucky-to get her pregnant) but after a month straight of being sick, tired, cranky, and weighed down by one child she decided she needed to know just what was up with this kid.

Melanie's pillows were just masses of beaten feathers when she found out her mom was having triplets.....THREE BABIES. SHE WAS GOING TO HAVE THREE YOUNGER SIBLINGS. SHE WANTED TO PUNCH SOMETHING-

But she didn't, instead the girl put on her brave face and ignored the empty feeling that was slowing making residence in her....She couldn't be sad! Her mom needed her help with a lot now! and even though (like with Jason) she hated the concept of sharing her mother she found something amazing in following her mother around and watching her change. Melanie decided that Kanna looked quite a bit less threatening hobbling around, and that she looked downright kind when she allowed Melanie to touch her stomach and feel one of the babies kick.....Still, Melanie wasn't sure she wanted to be a big sister!

Towards the end of her mother's pregnancy Melanie suddenly found herself helping her mom with just about everything, as Kanna was bedridden. She was simply weighed down by the three children she was supporting and too small to keep up, so grudgingly the woman stayed in bed and tried to get through the last few months without killing anyone.

As angry as she was, Kanna was scared , she hadn't felt this bad in a long time....Luckily a bit after Erin Kanna's children came, bringing a baby boy and two girls into the world.

The boy and one of the girls had been named Aaron and Adriana, two names that Melanie had helped pick out in a period which she was adjusting to the idea of having siblings (and even showing excitement for a short bit). They looked very much like the girl with dark hair and blue eyes, but with a noticeably darker skin tone than Melanie had been born with. They were healthy size and relatively peaceful disposition when they were together (when the two were apart was a totally different story)....

The other girl looked slightly different than her twins, with a skin tone that mirrored Kanna's much more closely. She had dark hair and rather than blue eyes-green. Kanna decided she would be named Laila, a fitting name for such a darling child.....Well sorta....Laila temperament was the toughest of all of the babies, the poor thing always seemed to have some unseen thing wrong with her. She often spent half the night crying, leading to her much better behaved siblings to start as well.

Those were the nights Kanna forced other people to look after the babies. Including Melanie.

This was where Melanie was now, sitting indian style on a bed, rocking a sobbing Laila and trying to keep her other two siblings from following their twin's HORRIBLE lead. Kanna was asleep in her room, taking much longer than expected to recover from the delivery but slowly regaining her energy (and lovely homicidal tenancies) back.

Times like these were when Melanie REALLY wanted to be a kid again...

"Laaaaaaaaiiiiillllllllaaaaa you gotta be quiet" the girl said in a not so quiet whisper...

Melanie smelled food coming from the kitchen and the girl groaned. Even though she and Galv were the only ones with morals in this house she somehow was forced to learn the harsh realities of having a baby....Including that you don't eat until the babies are asleep.

[....]

Jason was TRYING to be sneaky....Whether or not that actually was accomplished could be questioned...Mostly he was trying to sneak out to do a bit of shopping while his girlfriend and child were asleep.

Of course every other time he tried this he never got very far.

[Plumber Battleship]

“No... ah... just a few more... grah!”

For Sama, the last year had been rather uneventful. He was a fugitive, wanted for assaulting the Vice President of the government he had sworn to protect. He was considered a traitor, and the entire UTR had his face on wanted posters. He had been relegated to living aboard the Plumber Battleship, working on several projects.

Philanthropy, however, had not died. With a little secret aid from Jim Raynor, and help from the Plumbers, Sama had continued operations. Philanthropy was establishing itself as a organization that helped out when others could not. They had fought the Space Mafia, and were known for taking on rather dangerous freelance work for little pay.

Sama had also been working to study robotics designs, and was hold up in the workshop, putting the finishing touches on something he had started a while ago.

He let out a small sigh. His investigation into Mengsk had also been going well, and soon he would have everything he needed to hopefully get his old life back.

[Orion]

Felix Maarit was busy, running through the house, with a diaper bag slung over each shoulders. He had spent the last year being responsible for five babies, as much as he could. The house was insane, but he owed it to Rica and the others to do his part.

Rica himself, had been entirely amused (and shocked) when Kanna had three children. His amusement (and shock) only grew when he learned that one of these children was his, one of the girls, while the other two had been Ethan's. For those keeping score at home, that's two kids Ethan, two kids Rica and one kid Kain.

Poor Kain. If he wasn't dead, he would have to “get busy” catching up.

Suddenly, Rica heard crying. He hurried into another room to find Melanie, along with baby Laila. He liked Laila. He had a feeling that Laila was his.

[Earth]

“I say, I always have enjoyed this planet. Humans are such fascinating creatures.”

A older blond man in a posh red coat was walking down the road. His hair was graying now, as to be expected of someone his age. Then again, his age was much higher than it looked – and even he was uncertain of it thanks to the strange happenstance of his arrival one year ago.

Still, even in such strange circumstances, Three could not stay down. He had even found his new companion.

“They are.” Rei Ayanami, the blue-haired, red-eyed young lady was following closely at Three's side. She had been sitting at Jagan's side for three months when finally the Third Doctor noticed on one of his trips to the Battleship. Growing restless himself, he had drafted Rei as his new companion.

Since the two had been traveling together, Rei had opened up considerably. Yet, she still frequently went to visit Jagan.

[Someplace Bad]

“... Ha... Hahah...”

A young woman with green skin and red hair was sitting on a rock. She had strange, bug-like wings growing from her back, and her lips had turned purple. Her eyes glowed in the dark, and she seemed to be an monster.

She was an Infested Human. Infested by the Zerg Swarm. Yet, she was no ordinary Infested Human. She had taken the slot left vacant by Kerrigan. She had become the Queen of the Swarm.

The Queen of Flame.

“... Soon... I think I should pay a visit back to... Earth...”

Asuka Langley Soryu chuckled in the darkness...

Plumber Battleship

"Well you look like you're concentrating pretty hard"

Like Sama, Crystal had been living as a fugitive (of course only by association) on the battleship. She and the many others here had made it their home of sorts but recently Crystal had been getting the feeling that they would be leaving soon.

But that didn't stop the girl from making it as comfortable as possible.

".....When was the last time you slept?"

[....]

I'm guessing you're wondering where Shannon is? Oh she's here.....Somewhere.....Hiding and still wanting to eat Sama's neck.

Sama hadn't pushed anymore people down stairs. Shame on him.

Orion

Melanie looked over her shoulder, not really giving much of a reaction when Rica came in. She had been acting in such a stoic way towards both Ethan and Rica since almost a year ago, polite but nowhere near relaxed.

"...Uh hi Mr. Rica..." she said quietly, rocking the baby a few more times before carefully handing her off to the older man. Even after the passing of a year Melanie referred to him as mister.

Laila continued to cry loudly, seeming upset by the same unknown force that had been bothering her from the day she was born. Luckily it seemed as if her brother and sister had learned to ignore the crying, and could sleep though it.

[Plumber Battleship]

Sama's concentration was broken; but the boy did not complain. The familiar voice of Crystal filled the room, and he put down the expensive machinery and turned to her with a soft (but tired) smile.

“Hahah... I slept... hmm... what's today? I know I had a nap on Tuesday.”

Sama had no idea how long ago Tuesday had been. He shrugged his shoulders, and gave a thumbs up. “I'm okay! I'm so close... Crystal, I promise, everything is about to turn around!”

[Orion]

“Hello, Melanie.” Rica frowned. The girl still called him Mister... she didn't seem to like him too much. Then again, he had changed her life a lot thanks to his relationship with Kanna... and it had only become more complex over the last year.

He accepted the child, holding Laila in his arms, looking down at the baby as she cried.

“Shhh... hush darlin'. You're in safe hands.”

“Thank you for taking care of her, Melanie.” He smiled to her.

-Orion-

As Jason headed for the door, it would open suddenly, Galv the one to open it.

“Hey Jason. Going out?” Galv asked.

Erin stirred, muttering, “Jason...where are you going...?”

Even after a year, Erin still had trouble being alone.

Galv shook his head, giving Jason an apologetic look, and moved back into the house.

The boy was fifteen now, a bit older, and a little taller, and while he had been taller then Melanie before, the girl was now a little taller then him.

Like Melanie, he had also gained a sibling. A brown haired girl by the name of Elizabeth. His parents had been away from each other for fifteen years, so give them a break.

Elizabeth was currently upstairs, being held by Levina. Since the girl would spark and accidentally electrify people who held her, only Galv, Levina, and Samuel could really hold her and not get hurt.

Galv liked his sister. He liked being an older brother, and did want to stay around.

But Melanie still wanted to leave, and Galv liked Melanie more.

“Hey Melanie,” Galv said, as Melanie was attempting to calm Lalia down.

Aaron seemed to be fussing slightly, so Galv scooped him up and sat down by Melanie.

Rica seemed to enter the room though, so he kept quiet on the matter of the ship he was still fixing up.

Aaron looked at Rica and suddenly began to cry.

“Lots of crying...” Ethan muttered, entering the room. He picked up Aaron, carefully, and Aaron quieted, giggling.

“I think he's mine,” Ethan grinned, as Aaron grabbed a finger and tugged. “Hmmm...definitely mine. He's strong.”

-Unknown Yeerk Base-

Ben was pressed up against a wall, being very quiet. The Plumbers had gotten word that the Yeerks were building...something, on this base. They needed to find it, and destroy it if it was a threat.

Next to him would be Jade. The Doctor was there, but he had separated from the group a while ago, whistling and walking down a hallway.

Ben looked to Jade and nodded with a grinned, stepping out from the corner of the hallway. There was a click as several Dracon beams were suddenly pointed at Ben.

“Hey, calm down,” Ben said to the assorted aliens, “I'm just a little loss...where's the little Plumber's room?”

He held up his Omnitrix, activating it right in front of the aliens.

“This thing is horrible for maps,” Ben explained, selecting an alien. He slammed it down, and with a sudden flash of light, Ben was now Swampfire!

“Swampfire!” Ben declared, then rushed forward, knocking down one of the aliens.

He was providing a distraction so Jade could sneak past!

-Plumber Battleship-

Silver was in the gardens, looking around for Cosmo.

“-CONTROL!”

Silver stumbled back suddenly, a red and black hedgehog appearing, falling unto the ground.

“Ugh...Eddie, I'm here,” Shadow said, speaking into his wrist.

“Shadow?” Silver wondered, remembering the other hedgehog from his time on Mobius. “What are you doing here?”

Shadow shook his head, “I'm looking for the Plumbers...I need to find a man named Nova...”

-Mobius-

Sonic sighed, resting his head against a tree.

Right now he was in the middle of nowhere, looking for a bit of peace. He did not like having to be part of the government, but he found himself thrust into that position.

He sighed, looking up at the clouds. He wanted to go back to space...Whole other worlds he could run on. Whole other adventures he could have.

After Philanthropy had gone on the run, Sonic had been questioned, since he had helped them before. It had quickly become apparent that Sonic had very little idea of where they could be, outside of what they already knew.

Ex-Space, One Year Later, Earth Calendar

Desty Nova was a genius. No one could really argue with the fact that the man was a brilliant scientist, an absolutely amazing mind combined with the right sort of logical approach to all ideas. He was a man who had achieved much, created much and destroyed much, and through it all he had advanced himself further and further. He was powerful. Ambitious. Clearly unhinged. And absolutely brilliant.

He teamed up with another genius of a mind equal to his own. Washu, the girl whose very existence seemed to go against the very laws of reality, was working with him, and so was the brilliant assistant of Gerald Robotnik, the Mobian named Luna. With these two minds and a year of Research and Development, Desty Nova has advanced further down his path of ultimate knowledge.

He managed to replicate the technology of the Staff of Light, ancient Necrontyr technology. With Washu, he created more of those weapons, making them portable and equipping his crew with weapons with similar properties.

He upgraded the Apocalypse, the ship now running on combined Plasma-Loop and Antimatter conversion power, which maximized the ships efficiency. The weapons went through an overhaul as well, and the ship's armaments went through a significant boost of power, precision and effect.

He began the massive project of building a new home. The Black Omen was much too small for all of his grandiose dreams, so he dreamed bigger. With an immense amount of resources pulled from various asteroid belts and months upon months of nano-construction, Desty Nova was finally close to building the ultimate home, the Final Omen.

He continued his research into Maar and the psionic powers possible to Protoss/Zerg hybrids. By extracting various samples from brain tissue, Desty Nova managed to isolate the parts of the brain that were used during psionic projection and developed a biological geno-upgrade for Jagan, if the pilot ever woke up, an upgrade that would significantly raise the golden-eyed youth's psionic potential.

He researched into the cells taken from Jason, comparing them to samples taken from The Doctor, isolating the part of the genetic code that linked to the Time Vortex and allowed the Time Lords to regenerate, though he wasn't sure if he had the gene correctly isolated, and he didn't want to test this on himself.

His research into nanotechnology and Antimatter skyrocketed. With Washu's and Luna's help, almost every system he had went through a significant upgrade, ranging from improving firepower and shield efficiency to something as boring as tactile strength.

The only thing that Desty Nova really failed in was his search for Melchizedek and Program Merlin. He found a required power source. He built the required frame. He even created the interface based on reports he had gathered and several plans he had managed to get his hands on from rather dubious sources... But he could find not even a glimmer of hope of finding those two very important items to his plans.

Nevertheless, the man did not despair. He continued on with his research, developing a new gadget almost every day, and more often than not multiple ones in a day. Ever since Washu and Luna appeared in his laboratory, his ability to think increased even further than he could do with just flan, and somehow he found himself enjoying himself so much more. Washu's genius and Luna's helping hands were everywhere he could ask of them, and they had the brains and foresight to do a lot of things without him even mentioning his plans.

It was heaven, or as close as it got for Desty Nova.

Furthermore, his androids benefited heavily from Desty's continuous rampage across the technological landscape. Sechs, who for all the world did not wish to lose his Super Fizziroy body, underwent a significant upgrade and was now completely immune to contact with Antimatter, being made completely of Neutral Matter. Same process was used to upgrade Elf, Zwölf and Alita, all of which also ended up getting other upgrades that made them much more dangerous... And much more efficient.

But, the year was coming to a close, and there were dark clouds on the horizon. There was something happening on the Material Dimension, and forces were gathering. Sightings of Metarex. An odd signal interruption here and there, obviously a psionic signature of Zerg. And even a single sighting of a Dalek out in open space. Desty Nova knew that things were going to start coming to a crescendo soon, so he decided to rejoin the fun with the rest of them.

With a final farewell to Alita who was to remain and oversee the building of the Final Omen, the Apocalypse left for Real Space again, carrying on board the two geniuses, the mobian assistant, an android and two gynoids.

It was time for their adventure to restart!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nebula Hideaway

A rip in space appeared not far from the Ragnarok's hideaway as the similar, yet darkly-colored ship, the Apocalypse, made its way into real space again. Desty Nova chuckled slightly to himself as Sechs, Elf and Zwölf carefully maneuvered the ship around some free-floating debris and over to the dark, lifeless form of the Ragnarok, one that was surprisingly-well hidden for its red color.

Elf was the first to speak up.

"Professor, we're picking up no lifesigns from the ship. It's dead and even the auxiliary power's dead. No life support is active."

Desty's brow furrowed. Were Philanthropy defeated while he was away?

"Scan for life degradation. Jagan was on that ship. Also scan for damage, make sure you miss NOTHING. I don't want us to be ambushed, especially not here."

This time, it was Zwölf who answered. "I see no damage on the ship, professor. It's fully intact, though the paintjob is scratched-up. It looks to be in perfect working order, no internal damage. No lifesigns, no biodegradables. It's like everyone just jumped ship."

The crazy Typharean couldn't help but sigh in agitation, standing up and beginning to pace, thinking.

"So they weren't defeated... But what? Are they elsewhere? Elf, Zwölf, begin tracking of Jagan's signal. We're going to find them the old-fashioned way. Sechs, gets us out of here, but make sure to close that gap over there, hide the ship a bit better. Also, place a locator beacon on the underside of the ship and deactivate it. Set it to proximity activation, 50,000 miles."

As the crew got to work, Desty Nova impatiently tapped out some things on the screen.

"Too many things changed... Heh. Talk about the chaos of the universe."

Seconds later, Elf popped up with a grin on her face. "I got the tracker on Jagan. He's on a battleship somewhere in another nebula. We're looking at the Helix Nebula."

Desty Nova nodded quickly and took a seat again, relaxing. "Sechs, are you done?"

His answer was, as usual, in a tone that barely restrained temper. "I'm gonna be done when I'll be done you crazy bastard. There! Done. Now what?"

Desty grinned. "Elf, Zwölf, send the coordinates to Sechs. Sechs, take us to the coordinates. Make sure we don't miss the place like you did LAST time we went anywhere important."

Sechs turned the ship around, grumbling all the way. "Sure, make ONE mistake, fall asleep behind the wheel ONCE, and you'll never hear the end of it for the rest of your frickin' LIFE..."

And the ship maneuvered out of the debris field and nebula before again blasting off into the unknown, heading to the next destination.

Helix Nebula

Again, the magnificent form of the Apocalypse pierced through the boundaries of space as it made its way out of Hyperspace, again falling in with normal physical laws as it lowered speed and drifted into the massive nebula.

As the ship wound down from Hyperspace travel and Elf and Zwölf got the ship ready for normal space travel, Desty Nova put together a single message that he began to broadcast as a hailing signal in a large area around the ship.

"Hello, hello, hello! This is Desty Nova and the NL Apocalypse, we're searching for a wayward friend! If you pick this call up, do answer."

And then, he sat back and waited, his hand on the keys. As he did so, Sechs set the ship to slow autopilot, putting his boots up on the controls and kicking back in his seat with a sigh. The only sound that came now was the occasional drumming of Nova's fingers and the typing sounds from the two gynoids.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Zohar

chaos wiped the sweat off his brow as he clapped his hands, standing over a pair of burly-looking men in suits, each one armed with a stun rod and a gun. He poked them making sure they were still alive, before raising his hand and letting the kinetic energy to rip their nice suits apart and use the remains to tie the two up.

Then, the boy slunk away, heading into the office and opening the door with a key he fished out of his pocket, closing the door quietly after himself. After a moment of deliberation, he turned about, smiled at the camera that was pointed right at him, and yanked his arm back, the camera sending sparks out as it shut down.

The boy then quickly took a seat at the desk and began to rifle through papers.

It has been a year since Burke's apparent death. It has been a year since they were rescued by Washu and released back to Philanthropy and the Plumbers. It has been just under a year since chaos and KOS-MOS became partnered field agents for both organizations, pulling an odd job here and there to bring in some money or gather valuable information.

Over this time, many things have changed. chaos, finally deciding that his strange episodes weren't really that important of a deal, put his full effort into being as helpful and productive as he could be, and his control over his powers skyrocketed. He could now easily redirect electricity and heat, as well as kinetic energy, and was working on other energy types.

But that wasn't the only thing that changed. The boy seemed much happier, much more focused now.

And this focus was perfect for a job like this one.

Grabbing the documents from the official-looking desk, chaos grinned as he stowed the documents under his vest before heading right for the window. With a slight application of kinetic force, the entire window frame was busted outwards, but simply hovered there as chaos jumped out and placed the frame back where it was.

Sure, it wasn't perfect, but it would do.

Diving down several levels, chaos finally snapped open his wings, which were now always a solid white that barely glowed, looking almost entirely like real angel wings, and glided towards the rendezvous point where he was supposed to meet up with the retreating KOS-MOS.

The documents he stole belonged to a UTR official that was rumored to have been doing underhanded dealings with Mengsk. Hopefully, these documents would be enough.

chaos landed softly on his feet on one of the rooftops, his wings disappeared, and he shot across the roof, through the open door to the service staircase, down the stairs and quickly made his way out of the building before blending in with the crowd and heading for the station where he was supposed to meet up with KOS-MOS.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

UTR Maximum-Security Prison

The gray-haired man sat calmly on the bench next to the entrance, waiting. He has been waiting for a long time now. How long, he couldn't really remembered. Minutes? Hours? Days? Weeks? Months? Years? They all seemed to blend together now, especially during his imprisonment within the gray walls of the most secure prison the UTR had to offer.

Nevertheless, the man didn't look perturbed at all. No resignation was on his face. No excitement. Just a blank... Something. A cold look, one that certainly suited his steely eyes, seemed to pierce right through anyone that passed by him.

Then, finally, the door opened. The gray-haired man, unshaven and with long, braided hair as it was, closed the small book he was reading with a snap and stood up in a single fluid motion. A motion that was unlike any sort of prisoner that remained in one place for too long.

He didn't waste time though. He stepped through the door right into the elevator, sidelined by two heavily-armed Power Armored soldiers. By the time the elevator was at the designated floor, he was smirking.

Stepping out, he was led into an office. A small place, one that was barely a cubicle, but a place nonetheless. In front of him, a screen. A holographic projection.

He couldn't help but chuckle.

"It seems that the years have been kind to you... Mengsk. It has... Certainly been a while since I have seen you. I heard you now had power."

Now becomes the the past in an instant — and everyone will eventually die! Destiny triumphs over human knowledge and goes mad! That is the way of things! I spit upon this frail, crazed, world! I spit upon the Second Law of Thermodynamics!
~ Desty Nova, Karmatron Theory

Let them Label me! Let them swear and curse at me as I tug humanity like a bucking bull into the darkness of the unknown, revealing its secrets to the sane and driving them MAD! In ages long past, I shall be looked upon as a tyrant and a savior! As a savant and as a fool! My work shall advance humanity long past its time, throw it into the unknown future and force it to grow strong or FALL! Years from now, when I will inevitably be removed, my work shall continue to progress, because these things cannot be denied! Governments will publicly criticize my work, but privately conduct research that advances it! I shall imprint myself into the annals of history, among the stars that shine as brightly as Albert Einstein, Isaac Newton, Benjamin Franklin, Dmitri Mendeleev, Nikola Tesla, and countless others! My work will shine as brightly as any star, and I AM ITS CREATOR!!!

GRAPPLING HOOK!

Orion

.....Well.....Jason had been going out...Instead the boy turned around, smiling embarasedly at the girl and taking a seat on the armrest of the couch. "Nowhere" he was with a small laugh.

Actually Jason had wanted to go out to go look for something very special....But it would have to wait, maybe he'd try again in a few hours.

The boy grinned at his daughter, a little bundle of adorableness which he loved with everything he had. While Erin had woken up his daughter was still fast asleep.

[...]

Melanie hated when both men got like this...They would always talk about how much the children were like them and it would just make the girl wonder if her dad had ever talked so proudly about her as an infant.

A few seconds after Rica took Laila in his arms the girl calmed down, now just offering a sniffle and focusing on making little noises by opening her mouth in an "o" shape. Melanie always took offense that the baby would calm down with him and not her. Kanna pegged it on Melanie being so cold, which meant if she had either of Kanna's powers it would probably be light like Jason.

She hoped that wouldn't mean she would be rejected by all babies!

Meanwhile Adriana seemed to notice she wasn't getting any attention and winned for someone to fuss over her, which Melanie was sure would happen...It didn't seem as if the girl was much needed right now. As she stood up she noticed Galv, cracking a smile at the one thing that didn't suck about this last year.

"H-hey..." she said, hugging the boy quickly (still smart enough not to show too much affection around her mom's boy toys lest she be told on) and taking notice that she was still beating him by at least two inches in height. She made sure to check of THAT every day!

Unknown Yeerk Base

This was a VERY serious mission....But Jade wanted to make it fun as well...That's why she brought the Talismans!

The sixteen year old girl rushed past the variety of aliens nearby thanks to Ben's mad awesome distracting skills and the invisibility talisman. She just had to get through the next doorway....Then Ben would meet her and they could kick the bad guy's butt, destroy the stuff being used for evil (though she was curious at just what that stuff was) and get back home for their weekly smoothly and video game date.

Plumber Battleship

"And Sonikku! You can't forget him! Actually he's the most important one we're looking for right Shadow!?"

Yes. A year had passed and Amy was STILL searching with Shadow for her beloved Sonic. That's what you called persistence there!

Plumber Battleship

Crystal narrowed her eyes "It's Sunday" she answered bluntly, smacking the boy on the shoulder "I don't care how close you are you need to sleep! Clearing you name isn't gonna matter much when you're DEAD."

Of course she meant this all as a joke...Though a half serious one. Sama had been working on a way to clear his name fr quite awhile...He probably needed some fresh air and sunlight.

"Why don't you take a break for a little while?" she tried to reason with a charming smile "We can go on a waaaaaalllllk around the shippppppp, in the artifical suuunnnnliiiggght! I know how much you've missed that!"

T.R.S. Crusader

"...last sighted on Floston...meeting with suspect who was questioned, no follow up...interior of Republic safe, only hostile activity occurs outside borders...well, maybe not..."

Didymus was in his war room, looking over displays, news clippings...documents.

"...bah. Xenos. Traitiors. Conspiracy. ...and me, in the middle of it all."

The last year had been busy. The press had renewed its attacks in him as he had once again been brought to the forefront of the Republic's war effort. Thrusts against any zerg strongholds they could find, leading more excursions into what could be defined as metarex territory, trying to track down Philanthropy's remnants, and gradually getting closer to EarthCom and the president's own dealings, and watching his fleet and army get outfitted with newer, better, even more powerful equipment which had already shown its worth...documents on suspected corruption at high levels of government or military circles, snippets of intel on Philanthropy sightings, and displays of force deployment all adorned the war room as Didymus pored over the galactic state of affairs.

He had had some leave, but it had been back to work soon enough.

"...new bases being built in Mobian territory...good, that's a weak spot that would only be a drain on resources defending without consolidating our positions there...Seventh Army has completed-"

"Sir?"

"Rachel...yes? What is it?"

Rachel sighed. He hadn't even looked up from his display.

"Sir, don't you think you should eat something?"

"Not now, Rachel. Almost got something here. We've got a Philanthropy sighting recently, and, looking at this map, I think I know where they went-"

"Still chasing after Philanthropy?"

"...he's a traitor, Rachel. You should accept it. I KNOW what you want to believe, but that does NOT change the fact he disregarded orders, was ready to hand himself over to the zerg, and ATTACKED THE VICE PRESIDENT."

"A vice president who has to take how many scandals now?"

"Whether or not he is a fine example of all just how low a politician can stoop does NOT change the fact that someone ALLEGEDLY in the service of the Republic to attack him is nothing less than a court-martial worthy offense."

"...he did what he thought was right."

"I disagree."

"What?"

"He did what he FELT was right. Sama never used his head."

"Sir, may I speak freely?"

"...very well."

"Maybe YOU should use your heart every so often."

Didymus chuckled. It was that grim chuckle of his, though.

"Why Rachel, why would you suggest that?"

He turned around to face her, grinning.

"You of all people, I was convinced, had NO intention of watching me open my heart."

"...you know that that's not true."

"...yes. But you only ever intended to watch from afar."

"Sir, the nature of these remarks-"

"-is making you uncomfortable, I know, I...I apologize, Rachel. But you know I do what is right, why do you have to insist that-"

"...I know too, sir." Rachel said. "I'm sorry. You're right, and you know I still admire you. I just..."

Didymus chuckled again.

"I know, it gets a little personal for you when I question Sa-"

"Sir, we don't need to dwell on this."

"Rachel, let me ask you one question: who would you pick to win in this struggle?"

"...sir, I'm still here, aren't I? I've always brought you all the information you needed, I've remained by your side, haven't I?"

She actually smiled a bit.

"I still get you warm milk in bed after a bad day, don't I? And I really do worry about you, sir. I...I know that you've been busy, and that proceedure and rank keep you kind of isolated on these tours, and...I've heard the sighs you heave every now and then. And don't think I haven't spoken with the chaplain-I attend every week too, you know. And well, I don't know how to help you...not in those regards...but I can at least do my duty as your adjutant...and keep bringing you that warm milk, or what other petty things I can offer..."

"Y-yes, yes, Rachel...thank you."

"I'll get you something from the mess hall. Be right back."

"Thank you, Rachel."

As Rachel turned to leave, Didymus looked after her.

...bless her, please, oh Lord...she's been such a blessing to me...even if not in the way I long for...

He shook his head. Thinking of longing would only...distract him. Decrease his output. Harm his efforts to defend mankind.

...he could not allow that to happen. Not while he was on duty, at least.

His mind and focus had sharpened, there was little doubt of that...

...but as he sat there, muttering his thoughts as his displays played out, he eventually sat down and heaved a very heavy sigh, weary...

-Orion-

Erin paused, looking at Jason, then down at Solana.

“...If you wanna go out, you can,” Erin said softly, “Just let me keep Solana with me here. I need someone to cuddle with. And you can get me some candy. Cinnamon, of course.”

As Adrianna began to fuss, Ethan moved over, shifting Aaron to one side, and picking up Adrianna in the other.

He grinned a little, then took the seat which Melanie and Galv had now vacated, talking softly to the twins.

Galv hugged Melanie back, then looked around, suddenly taking Melanie's hand, pulling her into an empty room. Well, Melanie's own room, closing the door.

“...It's almost ready,” Galv said quietly. His body was sparking slightly, creating a soft buzzing noise which would stop Ethan and Maize from hearing them.

“I just need one more charge into it, and to get our supplies aboard,” he continued.

“Felix!” Aiden yelled, following after the boy. In the year previous, Aiden had kept the change in physical age she had gained on the strange planet, and had begun to mature more, personality-wise, and was in better control of her powers.

Of course, she was not allowed to cook, ever, since her food always came out as charcoal briquettes. Not because she was bad at cooking, but just because she failed to see that no one else liked their food that way. Though, Felix had probably stomached a few of those meals.

“Do you need some help there?” the girl asked, once she caught Felix's attention, “I don't have anything to do right now...”

-Helix Nebula-

(I don't know if HA's attempting to hail the Plumber Battleship or not, and he seems to have disappeared off of Skype...)

-Plumber Battleship-

Shadow sighed slightly, looking to Amy. Sonic had told her that he was going out to the stars...But he had stayed on Mobius.

Sonic? Lying to Amy about where he was? Nooooo.

Of course, Shadow liked having someone other then Eddie to talk to on trips, so he wasn't going to correct the mistake.

“Isn't Sonic still on-” Silver began, and Shadow shook his head behind Amy. Silver paused, then went quiet.

“I guess I don't know where Sonic is. Hasn't been here. Why are you looking for Nova though?” Silver then continued.

“I think he knows something...or someone...who knows about me,” Shadow answered, “I'm an artificially created life form...I want to know why I was made...”

Silver shrugged, “Well...I think The Doctor knows him. We can go through the Plumber stuff, maybe.”

-Unknown Yeerk Base-

Ben cracked his knuckles, changing back once the aliens were taken out, all knocked unconscious.

He strode over the door, looking to Jade...Well, where he assumed she was.

“Can you go intangible and open the door from the other side?” Ben asked, “And make sure nothing bad is waiting for us.”

-T.R.S. Crusader-

Omega was on the ship still, aiding the crew, and had proven himself many times in thwarting Zerg. Being a robot, he could not be infected by them, and his array of weapons helped take down many a foe.

Of course, many in the U.T.R. were against him, due to the U.T.R.'s policy of no A.I.s. Though, to those on the Crusader, he was liked enough.

He was on his way to inform Didymus of several new arrivals.

“Comrade Didymus,” Omega said, knocking on his door, “The new personnel are here. A couple new pilots, Ambassador Caraway, and several others have arrived. Do you wish to greet them?”
