[Flashback: NERV Headquarters] Rica watched as Kanna took the revolved, and then fired at the target. He could tell she was not familiar with using a firearm, and the look on her face told clearly that she did not want to be using one now. “… That wasn’t half bad.” Rica said, taking a step towards her. “Though, your stance is all wrong. You want to stand with your feet shoulder width apart, and make sure you have a good grip on your weapon. Also, you should squeeze the trigger – don’t pull. Oh, and…” He smirked. “It helps to open your eyes.” [Space Vegas] Sama followed her point to the giant dance machine. He gave a slight grin. Sure, he had never played DDR before, but he was an accomplish mech pilot and had very good coordination. “Of course I’ll play too!” Sama gave a big grin. “Loser has to buy lunch.” […] The old man with curly blond hair gave a small sigh. He sadly sloshed a drink around in his glass, but did not drink any of it. “Bessie… will I ever see you again?” He seemed to be a sad old man who was pining over the loss of a woman. In fact, he was far older than he looked, but his sadness was not about a woman; but an automobile. A very special car, one that Kevin would have killed for. After a few moments, he paused, and then sighed. “Well, this certainly is not going to resolve anything.” He stood up, put down his drink, and thought about his sticky situation. He did not remember how he got to where he was. He also did not have any of his usual gadgets, and had lost not just his car, but a far better mode of transportation too. [TRS Crusader] “I am well familiar with the Youth Commander program, Colonel. I know some of the doctors who consulted on its implementation.” He listened as Didymus elaborated on his problems, and when he explained the route of his issues, Bones suddenly had flashbacks to a man who he considered his best friend – and most annoying comrade. “… Personally, a commanding officer who isn’t constantly swapping women every weekend isn’t a bad thing. I’ve served under a man who…” He paused, and decided not to speak of Jim. “Look, I’m a medical doctor, not a therapist. Still, it seems that most of the women you’re describing – aside from Rachel – are who, exactly? Soryu? Heartilly? Quistis?” He chuckled a bit. “A soldier who worked directly beneath Peterson during the Rebellion… a political terrorist… and a woman who had her life forever change when the Republic closed down SeeD. All the qualities you described yourself with aren’t exactly things that those women are going to find appealing.” He walked over to Didymus, and gave him a clap on the shoulder. “The Republic isn’t going to train you in love. At least not unless you serve under Jim Kirk, and even then, I doubt his views on the subject would match your moral standards.” He offered a small smile. Even McCoy could smile sometimes. “My point is, when you are the commander of the Third Fleet at a time of war, people who are hostile towards the Republic and officers working for you might not be the best candidates for a date.” |

NL Apocalypse The ship, having previously shifted into real phase and real space, was now traversing on the edges of what Desty Nova called the "Outer Path". The bare edge between reality and non-reality, the place which could possibly lead to any timeline or any point in space. It was erratic and shifted a lot, but was quite precise most of the time. Desty Nova PLANNED to move the ship back to where it was. That failed. Instead, they appeared in the same timeline, but not in the same space. They appeared way off-course, and ended up sitting in an unidentified sector, a dark and rather hostile-looking place with much of the starlight obscured by heavy gas clouds. ... "Well, this is new." That was the firct commrent that was spoken on the bridge, and Sechs was the speaker. Nova just sighed and started to type on his control board, but came up blank. "... Curious. It seems we're actually very stranded, and my scanners aren't piercing the gas clouds. We'll have to move. Sechs, take us in slowly. Make sure the thrusters don't ignite the gas around us, or we'll light up like a christmas tree." The android nodded quickly and carefully steered the ship on a slow cruise course into the nearest gas cloud... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Ragnarok Jagan was slowly waking up. His body, having adjusted previously to the damage done to it, was healing quickly. Unfortunately, this was not like Nova's bio-gel tubes in which Jagan could be patched in minutes. Jagan's wounds were still quite harsh, and he would need time to recuperate. However, the man was already waking up, and in due in large part to the presence of Rei's active thoughts which jump-started his brain. Slowly, he woke up, his senses finally extenting out of the dream-state and into the real world, and his eyes opened up to reveal the white ceiling of a medical room. An all-too-familiar setting. |

T.R.S. Crusader “… Personally, a commanding officer who isn’t constantly swapping women every weekend isn’t a bad thing. I’ve served under a man who…” Didymus chuckled. "The exploits of your former CO are famous enough, doctor. He certainly is an...interesting study." he said. “A soldier who worked directly beneath Peterson during the Rebellion… a political terrorist… and a woman who had her life forever change when the Republic closed down SeeD. All the qualities you described yourself with aren’t exactly things that those women are going to find appealing.” "Excellent points, doc. But it's not just them. Even when I ask...well, take Samus for example. I merely ASKED for her autograph, and she looked like she wanted to rip my head off. I realize she was angry with me for, you know, trying to-again-carry out the operation in a proper and professional manner, but still, I..." he sighed. “The Republic isn’t going to train you in love. At least not unless you serve under Jim Kirk, and even then, I doubt his views on the subject would match your moral standards.” Despite his depression, he actually chuckled. "...thank you, doctor. I take that as a compliment." “My point is, when you are the commander of the Third Fleet at a time of war, people who are hostile towards the Republic and officers working for you might not be the best candidates for a date.” He sighed again. "That makes perfect sense...but the problem is, doc, I don't really have contact with any other candidates. And, well, with Rachel, I know it would be fraternization...but when I hinted at settling down when we got out, she was quick to point out that such remarks could be construed as fraternization and that they made her...uncomfortable. And...even when I go on leave...I don't really get on well with most girls, and even if I had a chance, you know what the media does to war heroes. If you listened to certain pundits, you'd think that I eat little babies for every meal and stomp on puppies in my spare time." He sighed, and fingered the medals on his chest. "You know I'm honored to wear every one of these, and I wouldn't trade them for any woman...but maybe that's what they don't like about me." he gave a weak grin. "...and medals, despite what they represent, can't hug you when you're down or say "I love you"...and considering...again, it really does seem like my duty and honor, or at any rate my sense of it and my passion or even obsession for them...have alienated me from that gender...and if that's what's needed to safeguard our people...so be it. But it just gets hard sometimes." He shook his head. "Listen to me going on. I'm sorry, doc, I know this makes me look very weak and unprofessional. Not very inspiring, right?" he chuckled again. Space Vegas The glittering lights, the hefty transactions, the free-flowing intoxicants, and more...they all contributed to a shady, but glitzy atmosphere. A female bat mobian made her way across the casino floor towards the bar. |

[The Ragnarok] While most of the crew had exited to Space Vegas to have a good time, Rei and Jagan were left in the medical bay – under the watchful eye of Hal Emmerich. Otacon watched the charts as Jagan’s brain activity was monitored. Oddly enough, his brain waves seemed to mesh up with Rei’s. Very well. Almost eerily well. He frowned, and tapped a pen against the desk. Then, Jagan woke up; and Otacon was shocked. “Whoa, now!” Otacon ran over and quickly injected Jagan with a syringe before he could object. “Don’t get up too quick. Here, these are healing nanomachines – they will help repair your injuries, and then they’ll turn to goop and be secreted out your pours. I invented them.” Rei stood up, and rushed over to Jagan. “… Are you alright?” [TRS Crusader] McCoy’s face turned sour when Didymus mention Samus Aran. He shook his head. “Samus Aran was angry with you? For not letting her do things her own way? Amazing! It’s almost like she was a bounty hunter. Colonel, with all due respect, you’re just obsessing over nothing at this point.” He listened in silence as Didymus went on, and when the Colonel finally finished, Bones looked stern. “There is nothing weak or unprofessional about this. It’s called being human, Colonel. You show me a man who doesn’t have a moment of weakness – especially a man with the responsibility of an entire Starfleet – and I’ll show you someone with no emotions!” Bones shook his head. “… At any rate, you’re still only talking about a handful of women. Last I checked, our species had slightly more than just half-a-dozen women. Or at least, I hope that’s still true…” He wrote something down on a small pad, and handed it to him. “The next time we have a chance, you’re taking shore leave. You’re going to go somewhere relaxing and enjoy yourself, and not dwell on everything. Duty is very important, but if you never take even a moment for yourself, you’ll end up utterly unhappy, and you may end up making sloppy mistakes.” He shook his head. “Anyway… is there more you need to say, or would you like to see Soryu now?” [Space Vegas] Knuckles sat at a roulette wheel, watching the various colors spin around as he watched the small silver ball bounce. He was entranced by it. […] “… Man, this place is cool!” Jordan was ecstatic about the trip to Space Vegas, he had always wanted to go and… What? Oh. Molly and Jordan came with The Doctor, Ben and the others. “… Wow, look at that! Video Poker, I wonder if I’d be any good… oh man, and look there! It’s blackjack, I bet I could beat the dealer!” Jordan was going to lose every cent he had, if not stopped. |

Colonel, with all due respect, you’re just obsessing over nothing at this point.” "...I suppose that's why she WAS angry with me, but still...I asked for her autograph after that...she could at least take that with a little grace or class...but no, she was...I'm sorry..." "...thanks for the consolation, doc, but I assure you, you're not the first one to tell me there's plenty more fish in the sea, and you'll probably not be the last. As for shore leave...I don't know when we'll be getting a chance to do it...we'll see...we ARE at war, you know, so we can spare a tad less...but I DO take moments for myself, when I can. You know the entertainment systems hooked up in my quarters." He chuckled, then sighed and straightened up. "I don't know if I'm even fit to confront Soryu like this...but I may as well put on my best facade, at least, and try, right?" He chuckled. Space Vegas The bat mobian was walking by a roulette table when someone staring at it caught her eye...he was just sitting there, watching it spin...it was amusing, and she let out a slight "heh". |

Space Vegas Unfortunately for the money in their pockets, Molly was just as excited as Jordan....And just as inexperienced. Back on earth casinos such as these were reserved for those to be lucky enough to be over twenty-one...But here it looked like everyone was playing...Perfect for two teens who were willing to lose every cent they had in pursuit for a good time. Molly nudged Jordan with her elbow, pointing to a roulette station"I say we start with something simple, earn some big bucks, and then move on to the big bucks!" She seemed overly excited about this..."You do know how to play right?" [...] Cosmo followed Shadow through the casino, a jumble of lights and sounds which confused the young girl. Everyone seemed focused on their own games and weren't paying her any mind but she still seemed intimidated. [...] Crystal gave a squeal of delight and pulled Sama over to the dance machine. She bent down for a moment to unstrap her heels before placing them and Shannon to the side. The bunny at first gave an annoyed expression but suddenly curled up next to the girl's shoes, looking to Sama.....Was the bunny snickering? Apparently Shannon knew something that Sama did not. "Alright! Lunch it is! So lets start things off easy...There! Level 62 will do it!" Silly Crystal...You're gonna kill Sama! Shannon will be pleased. Flashback: NERV Headquarters Kanna's eye's snapped open and she glared at Rica "Don't be a smartass..." she cursed quietly, still not used to the action. Back at home it was unacceptable...Which was probably why she was doing it. Doing things her parents hated was one of her favorite hobbies. She was sure if her mother and father knew she was shooting a gun with a boy they would have puppies. She raised her hands and concentrated again..."What's the difference between pulling and squeezing a trigger anyways?" she added sarcastically. |

[TRS Crusader] Bones hooks his head. “Well, you have my advice. I’m just a doctor, not like I’m an expert.” He opened the door, to allow Didymus access to Asuka. She was sitting up in bed, with bandaged wrapped around her stomach. She didn’t seem to happy at the moment, and had a frown fixed on her face. She looked up at him, and her eyes fell, but she did not speak. [Space Vegas] Jordan could find no fault in Molly’s plan. This is because he was a teenager, and thought that gambling would be an easy and effective way of making money. He shrugged. Then she asked if he knew how to play. “Err… no, but how hard can it be?” He dragged her towards a blackjack table. “Let’s try this!” […] As stated before, Sama was a mech pilot and had military training. He had very good hand-eye and foot-eye coordination, and was probably much better at DDR than Level 62, though, was just downright scary. He gulped a bit, and hoped that he wouldn’t end up embarrassing himself. The DDR machine had two pads, so two people could compete at once, so Sama climbed onto one of them. “Um… Crystal… is level 62 fast?” Sama asked, proving he had never played DDR before. I imagine my next post will involving fall down and uttering ‘Aww, potatoes’. […] Knuckles frowned, and raised his eyebrow. He turned his head, and spotted a bat watching him. “… What?” [Flashback: NERV Headquarters] Rica gave a small smirk, and walked over to Kanna. He was now standing behind her, and looked down at the gun in her hands. “I have no idea, to be honest, I’ve just always been told to ‘squeeze’ and not ‘pull’.” Rica’s grin flashed and he leaned over Kanna. “You need to adjust your stance, keep your feet shoulder width apart. You’ll get the hang of it.” |

T.R.S. Crusader Didymus watched as Asuka's eyes fell. "Not happy to see me, Soryu?" He paused. "Feeling better, at least? Hope that everything's alright. You...it seems that we impressed the delegates, and that because of it, our little incident in the ballroom doesn't need to be...um, made an example of..." "...so we're out of the doghouse, I suppose. In that regard. We still have treacherous aliens, inside conspiracies, politics, and a genocidal alien invasion to deal with." Space Vegas The bat smirked. "You're not too used to places like this, are you?" |

-Space Vegas- Ben wandered through the games, stopping at one that said Sumo Slammers VII. “Awesome,” he grinned, pulling out a bag of quarters. Where did he get it? Earlier, off screen. Shhhhh. The game happened to be two player as well... At the Black Jack table Jordan dragged Molly to, two other figures sat there as well...though they needed booster seats. “Okay, so the point of the game is to get as close to 21 as possible,” Silver explained to Cosmo. “But you don't want to go over. Then you lose. Every card has the same number on them. Face cards, those with pictures of people, are worth ten points, and an Ace can be either eleven or one point.” He grinned, and looked at the two cards that he had been given, “Okay, so, if you want another card, you say 'hit me' or just scratch the table. If you don't want another one, you move your hand over the cards, or just 'I'm good.'” Silver explanation is pretty much what my dad told me about playing Black Jack years ago, so you know. ![]() “So the point of this game is to guess where the ball goes?” Shadow wondered, appearing by Knuckles and Rouge. “Ehhh...it's just luck, really,” Sonic said, shrugging, “Not really skill.” “...Bet I can win,” Shadow said, after a moment. “No way,” Sonic said, “If you win, I'll take Amy to lunch.” Shadow grinned, “Deal.” Meanwhile, at the table by Molly, Jordan, Silver, and Cosmo... “...Dad...Mom...?” Samuel and Levina both froze, Harkness raising an eyebrow. They turned in their seats, as Galv stood there, Melanie beside them. The Doctor was in the crowd, watching. “...Galv...” Samuel muttered. Levina merely darted forward, grabbing Galv and pulling him into a hug. “My son...It's been...it's been...too long...” she said. The woman paused, then looked to Melanie. She remembered what Samuel had said before... “...And you're that girl...that he...likes...” Levina said. Like Kanna, she could not use the other L word in regards to the two. “Her name is Melanie...” Galv said slowly. He had not returned the hug. Levina bit her bottom lip, pulling back now, and standing up, “Come on...let's go find somewhere more private to talk.” “I have a room you can use,” Jack offered. He tossed Samuel a key, who grabbed it. “Uhhh, thanks,” Samuel said, then turned to the others, “So...let's go?” When the four left, an odd British man took the seat Samuel had been sitting. “So...deal me in?” The Doctor grinned. -NL Apocalypse- “And my dad already left with the T.A.R.D.I.S...” Jenny muttered, on the bridge, “Anyway to get out of here? Can you access Z-Space or something maybe?” “We could try calling some other Plumbers,” Max Tennyson offered, glancing to Nova. -T.R.S. Crusader- Omega was off getting repairs! -Undisclosed Location- Roxas and Dimi had brought Gendo somewhere undisclosed and safe...There, he would be able to meet with two evil Time Lords... |

[TRS Crusader] Asuka frowned, and continued to look down at her hands. She heard him speaking, but wasn’t really paying attention to a word he said. Instead she was trying to muster the courage to say something she really did not want to say. “… I’m sorry.” Don’t worry Didymus, if you have a heart attack, there’s a doctor in this scene. [Space Vegas] Luckily, Jordan heard what Silver said, and although the hedgehog was talking to Cosmo, he nodded his head along as if he was part of the conversation. Then he turned back to Molly. “Okay! Now we know how to play!” He turned and looked at the dealer. “Come on, let’s do this!” The dealer dealt him a hand. 16. The dealer’s hand was 18. Jordan frowned. “Okay… um… hit me!” Jordan ended up with 24. He sweat dropped, and lost some of his money. Then he turned to Molly and gave a sheepish grin. “Oops…” […] Knuckles raised an eyebrow to the bat. He thought it was a bit strange to see another Mobian in Space Vegas, but then he decided to ignore any concerns. “… No. I’m used to a quiet little island. I don’t like all this noise. I’ve never been in a casino before.” Knuckles admitted. Because that’s a good thing to tell a mysterious female bat. |

T.R.S. Crusader Didymus' eyes widened. "You...you're...what...I...no...um...uh...what?" He took a deep breath. "...I...shouldn't I be apologizing, too? You were fighting beside me and I let you get hurt...but I..." A battle took place in his head. Try to make her drag this out...or apologize for her. "I...yeah. Um...you were saying? Um, heh." McCoy was probably getting a kick out of this. Space Vegas “… No. I’m used to a quiet little island. I don’t like all this noise. I’ve never been in a casino before.” "At least you're honest. I always like getting honesty." It was true. She DID like being dealt with honestly. She had no qualms about being dishonest, however. "A quiet little island, you say? Like where? With the politics, and the modernization, and the war, and the Republic garrisons, there's not much quietness to be found in this galaxy-even back home." she said. She thought she could recognize his ancestry...his House was obvious... |

[TRS Crusader] McCoy WAS getting a kick out of this. He did not laugh aloud, but he did grin slightly and have a nice inner chuckle. Perhaps there was hope for these kids after all. If the flaming McCoy could hope. He could also eavesdrop, but when you’re in the medical room, McCoy can do whatever he wants. Asuka, once again, ignored what Didymus had to say. Instead she just winced and stood up, absently rubbing her bandaged ribs. “… I was careless and stupid. We were actually fighting together… effectively. If I had been paying better attention… bah…” Asuka sighed. [Space Vegas] The man with curly blond hair was about to wander off to another part of Space Vegas, when he noticed a black jacktable. He decided he would like to play a bit, and started to wander over. Then he got a feeling. An odd sensation. He looked up wildly and realized one of the people at that Blackjack table was a Time Lord. He knew this, because he was also a Time Lord. The man grumbled, and walked over, sitting down next to the Doctor. He could tell the Doctor was a Time Lord, but he did not recognize him. Of course, the Doctor would recognize the blond man. Since the blond man was the Doctor. His third incarnation, who will be known as ‘Doctor Three’ or ‘the Third Doctor’ so we don’t get confused. […] Knuckles raised his eyebrow at Rouge (because you know it’s freakin’ Rouge). “I’m from Angel Island. I’m actually the Guardian of the Master Emerald, Knuckles the Echidna.” Knuckles boasted. |

Space Vegas "Jordan! You can't loose on your first hand!" Molly exclaimed, taking a seat beside the boy and tapping the table in order to be dealt in. As she was she surveyed her cards....She remembered playing this game with the boys at the boarding school. Gambling was her favorite way to get extra meal credits and candy bars. "Hit me" [....] Meanwhile Cosmo took a seat beside Silver and accepted her cards. "Do...Do you think you could help me the first time around?" she asked...She was afraid but willing to try for the hedgehog. Perhaps it would be nice... The sounds and lights were still a bit dizzying though. [...] Sonic should have never made that bet. Now Amy had pulled her piko piko hammer out of some space vortex or thin air and was aiming it in Shadow's direction. "You HAVE to win this! YOU HAVE NO CHOICE" [...] Melanie stayed close to Galv (and stiffened as Levina looked at her) but followed the group into a private room none-the-less... Galv wouldn't let anything happen to her... Even if it was his family...Right? [...] "It's not that fast! I'm sure you'll be able to keep up!" She made a few quick steps and a fitting song started "Try to keep up Sama!" From the side it looked as if Shannon was waving bye bye to the boy... [...] Speaking of Poker faces...Another person was taking advantage of the casino to play a little friendly game of Poker... The girl had short dark hair and brown eyes hidden behind a pair of oversized sunglasses. While she wasn't very old the competitors at the table were taking her very seriously...After all she had won four games in a row... She was known as the tiny girl with a great hand...And very bad posture...She kept slumping over...Horrible posture...Almost looked like she was falling asleep...Or unconsious or something. But quick enough she would snap back and beat them all. In her hand a small rock with a sheep engraved sat glowing every now and then... "Full house boys, read 'em and weep!" Flashback: NERV Headquarters Kanna looked over her shoulder at Kanna, afraid to keep her eyes off of him lest he try something...Eventually she did have to focus so she hesitantly looked back at the target. "If I can hit the target you have to tell me something about yourself...And not something stupid. Or gross" Perhaps this would be a way to figure this strange boy out? |

[Space Vegas] Jordan watched as the dealer dealt a card to Molly. After a few moments, Molly ended up having 20, while the dealer had 19. Jordan almost fell off his chair as he watched the girl easily win. “That… what… you…” Jordan suddenly felt a bit small. Here he was, a boy (and one who had played poker with the guys when he was in the army) and in a matter of seconds Molly had shown him up. He felt a bit defeated… and then he smirked. “Hey Molly… you think you could keep winning? If you could win enough… we might be able to buy a new ship!” Remember, the Arrow wasn’t with them. […] "It's not that fast! I'm sure you'll be able to keep up!" Sama grinned, reassured (and wrong), and he jumped up onto the dance machine. It didn’t take long for him to realize that Crystal’s version of “not that fast” was what he would have called “holy crap get me off this thing speed”. Sama tried very hard to keep up… but of course, he tripped and ended up on the floor, hitting his head on the foot pad. … Yup. The Earth Government gave this man a spaceship, a military unit and a giant robot. Are you scared yet? [Flashback: NERV Headquarters] Rica gave a soft chuckle, and ran a hand through his hair. Then, she made a proposition, and he nodded. “… Tell you what, if you hit it, you can ask me the question, and I’ll answer it truthfully.” |

Space Vegas "SWEET!" Molly exclaimed happily, taking her large pile of chips. "Alright! I'll keep wining and you can be my wingman! Here have some chips!" She handed him her pile "Don't waste them though!" [...] The song continued and Crystal stepped madly to keep up with the speed. This was her favorite activity so it wasn't a problem being AWESOME at it. When Sama fell the girl giggled, hopped off and leaned down next to him. 'Are you okay? Looks like you're buying me lunch."
