I can't see what you're imagining
-The Black Omen-

The Doctor was silent, watching Nova as he went to work.

“Still...Nova, be careful. This might be a diversion,” The Doctor warned. “A massive frontal assault...The Daleks are clever. They had to be. They know many different ways to kill and destroy.”

The Daleks were The Doctor's greatest enemy...He knew them very well...

Galv blinked, as Kanna essentially pushed him and Melanie into a closet.

He wanted to help fight, if something happened...But he also didn't want to leave Melanie alone...And he didn't want to bring Melanie into the fight.

So, he stayed, holding Melanie's hand.

“It'll...it'll be fine,” Galv said, with a slight smile. Many boys would probably be thinking about taking advantage of the situation, being forced into a closet with one's girlfriend...But Galv was just worried about Melanie cracking...

A smaller force, hidden for the moment, was going around, coming towards The Black Omen...

-Jungle Planet-

“Cosmo...I have an idea! Get on my back! I'll defend, and you attack! Use the vines and plants, and we can probably fight our way forward!” Silver said, turning to look towards Cosmo, “After all, you can extend your powers past my shield just fine.”

Didymus had been trained since he entered adolescense to prepare him to face down the horrors of war, and to triumph over them. He had fought assasins in his own quarters in hand-to-hand combat, he had led a ship against two others that outclassed his own, he had led campaigns across star systems and even been the target of a failed NERV conspiracy (he was, I mention it). Rarely was it that he was visibly shocked by any development (although Rachel and Sama could attest that sometimes it was genuine, sometimes he just bottled it up until he was in a situation that no longer required him to act professional).

This was one of those times.

He was stunned, wide-eyed as Maria basically revealed that she PREFERRED to surrender her body to the control of the yeerks and that she was FINE with essentially operating as one of their high commanders. A thought occured to him that perhaps-PERHAPS-she was intending to betray them when the time was right...but he certainly wouldn't put it past her to actively enjoy and intend to stay with her current "employers".

Still, despite this shocking development, his "soldier's sense" was still on. And that sense was screaming something at him.

"RESTRAIN SORYU".

In a flash, he had grabbed Asuka. By the arms. Tightly. Almost as if they were embracing. Just after Maria's "boyfriend" remark towards them. The irony was not lost on him.

"Calm down, Soryu...please, don't do anything stupid...or hasty..." he whispered.

"Ah. So, um, Visser, Miss Ingleson, we'll, um, see you later, according to the schedule..." he said.

He started to drag Asuka to the refreshment table. Maybe get her some water.

"Please, Soryu, just take a few deep breaths, count to ten a few times..."

He REALLY hoped he wouldn't have to reach for his own weapons...

Rachel, for her part, moved to stand between Asuka and Maria, should she somehow break out of Didymus' grip...

[Point Lookout: Ballroom]

“And you should know, Maria is not being kept under control. She's fine with this...We...work together,

Asuka almost lost it. She wanted to scream ‘bullsh*t’ loudly enough that it broke the glasses some of the delegates were drinking from, but in a surprising display of restraint, Asuka did not. Her hands clenched, however.

“For my safety. Try something, and not only will you start a war, but both you and your...” Visser One paused, glancing to Didymus, and her smile widened. Maria didn't like Didymus...And she wasn't fond of Asuka either.

“You and your...boyfriend, won't live to regret it,” she finished, knowing it would annoy Asuka. And Didymus as well.

But...Visser One and I have an arrangement. It's...mutually satisfying.”

Asuka started to shake. “You… you… Ingleson, how can you do this!? I respected you… Peterson respected you… and now you’re selling out your species to go pal around with a bunch of brain-slugs who want to enslave humanity!?”

That was a great thing to say at the Diplomatic Summit. Asuka reached into her pocket, and felt the butt of the pistol… she wondered if she could pull the trigger before Didymus stopped her?

She would not find out. Asuka gasped as Didymus suddenly embraced her. She felt her face go pink at the idea of anyone – especially HIM – grabbing her like that. She instantly struggled.

"Calm down, Soryu...please, don't do anything stupid...or hasty..."

When he whispered, she bit her lip, but said nothing. She was dragged off to a refreshment table, still shaking. She cast a glance over at Maria, and then back at Didymus.

“… That B!TCH! She’s really with them now? That… That…” Asuka looked like she might actually cry. She paused, turning to another issue.

“… I’m NOT your girlfriend, and if you ever f<>ing grab me that way again…” She growled, not finishing her threat.

[…]

Break gave a small smirk, and looked around the room. He adjusted his sunglasses, and then got down to business.

“Mr. Saxon… is there a place we could speak in private? I would like to speak, away from the ears that so frequently listen in at such a place.”

His voice dropped, to barely a whisper. “It’s concerning many things, one of them… an appointment with The Doctor.”

It was a harmless enough statement, if someone was listening… but to Harold Saxon, Break/Burke believed it would convey a deeper meaning.

[The Black Omen]

“Excuse me, Doc…”

It was Daak, calling over his communication equipment. He wanted to talk to Nova, or The Doctor. He was still taking on the Daleks, but as their fleet appeared…

“Nova! There’s a LOT of these Daleks now! We’re outnumbered, and if things keep going this way, I have just one question: Can you afford to pay me for killing all of these things?”

Not that he would refuse. He would fight the Daleks to his last breath for free, and die with a smile on his face, only angry he couldn’t kill at least one more before they got him… but if you CAN get paid for something you love, why not?

[Dream?]

The two figures who Jagan saw in his ‘dream’ were seeing one another, although they had never actually met.

One was Rei Ayanami, the NERV pilot and one of Burke’s personal experiments. She locked red eyes with KOS-MOS, another of Burke’s experiments.

KOS-MOS… Rei…

They were both attractive young women with blue hair, red eyes and pale skin. Likewise, they were both quiet and had little personality. They both saw themselves as ‘tools’, and both knew they were created artificially to serve others and accepted that.

And recently, both had been growing emotions and changing the way they thought.

“… Do we know one another?” Rei asked.
“I do not recall you; however… I feel a connection to you.” KOS-MOS had not felt so close to someone since seeing chaos.

“You do know one another… and yet you don’t.”

A third woman appeared. She had lively green eyes and hair of flaming red; quite the opposite of the two. Yet, despite that, both Rei and KOS-MOS seemed to know her instantly.

“You are…”
“… Sarah Kerrigan?”

[Jungle Planet]

Sama shook his head, still a bit loopy. The loss of his nanomachines… He had made a major sacrifice, and it had failed. He bit his lip, but shook away his doubts. Whatever happened, would happen; there was no changing it now.

Then Sonic yelled. He could catch them?

“If you can follow them and find the Metarex base, that would be great! But don’t go after that thing alone…” Sama frowned; he didn’t want to lose any more friends or allies.

Didymus paused, and Rachel looked on sheepishly.

Didymus gave her a look as if telling her not to interfere, and she backed off a bit.

Suddenly, Didymus mustered up a scowl that would make a drill instructor proud.

"If I ever grab you like that again, you'll WHAT, SERGEANT? And don't FLATTER YOURSELF." he said icily, yet sharply. "The ONLY REASON I even touched you was to protect the ENTIRE GALAXY from your STUPIDITY and RECKLESSNESS." he said.

"You better shape up, SERGEANT. I will splatter the wall with your brains PERSONALLY before I let you start a WAR just because you're a little agitated."

He really didn't want to be like this. Even if Asuka had just been a tad more polite when she was dragged away, he would have talked comfort rather than tough to her. At least, he would have been a bit less hostile.

But Asuka's little profanity binge at HIM after that was a tad much. He decided to try to lay things out in no uncertain terms the situation.

"Besides..." he added. "...you're far from the most attractive girl here. Even if it wasn't fraternization."

Perhaps shifting her focus to HIM would help matters, however slightly.

Black Omen

Desty Nova smirked as the communication came through, and replied immediately.

"Mr Daak... I can afford you to eliminate their entire fleet several times over, and that is no joke or falsity. Please continue your excellent work. You will be joined by some of my units as well, so do your best to kill as many as you can, hmmm? Nova out."

He turned around to give The Doctor a look.

"Doctor, I personally don't appreciate when people underestimate me and call me a fool. I perfectly understand that this is no average enemy. But you are acting as though we will be destroyed here. As though we will be defeated. I can assure you, Doctor, that THAT is NOT the case. If you truly think that they are doing something smarter than a frontal assault..."

He smirked and brought up a map, showing the entire battlefield on small scale, the Omen, the Dalek fleet and every ship that the Omen's sensors saw.

"Now, Doctor... If you were a Dalek... What WOULD you do? What do you think they will do, hmm? Do help us defeat them, and perhaps I shall reward you as well."

[---]

While he spoke, the Black Omen's Fleet was doing much more damage than anything has ever done before to the Daleks. Humanity had advanced, and Nova was even further. Weapon technologies that were deemed too impractical previously suddenly looked like very, very interesting toys in Desty Nova's hands, the battlefield filled with both pulses, continuous fire and even explosions.

Missiles that creates small gravitational singularities (small, temporary black holes) within the effected area of the Omen, where the rules of gravity applied. Lasers, plasma, particle beams, phase beams, everything from the simple impact of a bullet to a shot from a Solar Lance, the Black Omen mounted with over 2 dozen different Solar Lance positions.

And the Rhine Maiden was reaching 70% charge...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dream?

Jagan simply stood there, watching. He saw the two girls with Blue Hair and one with deep Red Hair... And knew that he didn't know. This was perhaps one of the most surreal and unrealistic experiences that he has ever gone through.

Who were they? Why were they standing there, talking? Why were they in a place that had something while he was in a place full of nothing but a pulsing light and darkness?

... Why was he here?

He watched as they spoke, but heard no words and saw no movements of the mouth. They stood there, looking at each other, Jagan looking from the outside, and suddenly, Jagan was struck with an incredible sense of loneliness and separation.

Another emotion that surfaced within him, but this time he knew it was his own. He ruthlessly repressed it, but he couldn't, because he suddenly didn't know how. He tried to step back, but for every step he tried to take the scene remained the same, and he never distanced himself. He tried to turn away, but he could not, for the scene always followed his sight, always within reach.

He tried to scream, but no sound left his mouth. He tried to cover his eyes, but found that his hands refused to follow his commands.

He tried do anything, but there was no result.

So he simply stood there, raging at himself and his own indecisiveness as he watched a gathering of those who knew and learned and remembered... While he could not.

-Point Outlook: Ballroom-

Visser One/Maria watched as Didymus and Asuka moved away, watching their exchange.

“They don't understand...Do they?”

“They don't...I was left there, in space...dying. No one came. It was you that rescued me...That found me. Offered a chance for what could happen...Get my...revenge...”

“Yes...though that may have to wait for now...Those...Metarex, are proving to be a problem.”

The blonde haired woman sighed, shaking her head. She wondered if she'd see Peterson sometime in the future...

“Oh?” The Master said. He didn't act alarmed, “Is The Doctor here? Or a mutual acquaintance? I swear, he's always pestering me, when I'm fine.”

He grinned a little, then nodded his head, “I shall come with you then. It is the least I can do.”

-The Black Omen-

“Nova, please keep in mind, when I talk about the Daleks...There are millions of Daleks left. There are only three Time Lords,” The Doctor said. “And one of them is technically a clone.” he was referring to his 'daughter' Jenny.

He then looked over the display, placing on his 3D glasses.

“...Here,” The Doctor pointed out, “I think they'd attack from this side. It's slightly less defended, and they might be able to slip in a small force.”

Outside, the Dalek ships continued to fire and battle the Black Omen...

GRAPPLING HOOK!

The Black Omen-

Most teenagers stuck in a closet would have been in makeout city by now, but most teenagers weren't in Melanie and Galv's position right now. Melanie just stared blankly at the door for the time being. Hoping and praying that her mother would come back in one piece like she promised.

Melanie couldn't even imagine losing her mother right now. The idea alone made the small girl want to pass out or throw up. She never wanted to be that alone. Of course she knew Galv was here....He would take care of her if anything happened....And the others-

No! Nothing was going to happen.

"I'm so scared" Melanie admitted quietly, sliding to a sitting position against the cold wall. She room was rather dark but the girl still close to close her blue eyes and try to concentrate on anything but what could be happening out there.

[...]

Meanwhile Kanna was rushing back, feeling a sense of relief that she had hidden her daughter away for the time. She couldn't even think of losing Melanie now....Melanie was literally all she had left. If something happened to the young girl Kanna doubted she would continue on either.

NERV had taken a lot away from her. There had been endless arguments between she and her husband about her paranoia over the agency, enough that they had broke it off twice in their marriage before Kain's death. They took her peace of mind, leading her move around constantly and question anyone's intentions endlessly. NERV even affected her children, who both had her abilities, and had to face he consequences of them as well...And now her son had been taken away by someone with a connection to NERV.

No wonder Kanna was so troubled.

She just wanted Melanie to be safe, the child was all she had left. NERV hadn't taken her and she would not let anyone else either.

Jungle Planet-

Cosmo gave a shaky nod and did as Silver suggested, climbing onto his back and preparing her attacks. She would fight as hard as she could for now....She wouldn't let the other's sacrifices be in vain.

Now with Silver her vines could surpass the barrier created and were sprouting up seemingly everywhere. She was much more powerful in this state.

[Point Lookout: Ballroom]

Asuka’s eyes widened a bit at Didymus’ shocking display of anger. For a moment, she looked like she might meekly draw back and slink away from her CO.

She didn’t. This is Asuka we’re talking about.

“A little agitated? That woman was someone who I held the utmost respect and admiration for, and now she’s working for those damn skull-sucking parasites BY HER OWN CHOICE! If you’re going to shoot someone, it should be that b!tch whose trying to destroy humanity!”

Asuka looked furious. She looked like she might lash out, but a firm hand was clamed down on her shoulder.

“Get off of ME!” She growled.

“Calm down, Soryu.” It was a gray-haired man in officer’s uniform. He looked weary, and his age showed from the lines in his face. His name was Fury Caraway. “This is a diplomatic summit, we can’t have this type of behavior.”

Caraway seemed stressed. He gave a small sigh, and looked over to Didymus. “… Colonel. I understand EarthCom wants to brag about your unit’s success to the officials here, but if this one gives you too much trouble, we can find a nice desk job for her.”

Caraway might have seemed a little… uncomfortable. Then again, Didymus had his only daughter in the jail on his ship… something Caraway had sanctioned. It was an unpleasant situation for everyone.

Burke led Saxon away from the crowd, and over to one of the security checkpoints. He flashed his I.D. to the soldiers on duty, and they nodded as the two walked by. Since Break’s PMC firm was providing security, he had access to many secure areas… and all of them, thankfully, were private.

It was a monitor room, where one of Break’s men was watching several monitors to make sure nothing was happening at the summit that should not be happening. The man left when Break gave an order, and then Break leaned against the wall with a small smirk on his face.

“… It’s been a while. It seems we’ve both managed to keep up our charade for these humans. Though, it does become so tiresome…”

Burke chuckled a bit. “I take it you’ve heard about the ‘news’ made by some of our former subjects? It’s fascinating, really. NERV’s reach extends all around the stars… some of them are in the Republic now, others are fugitives… and some are dead.”

Burke shrugged. “…I have contacts in Shin-Ra who have replicated the facilities and equipment we used at NERV. However, some of the research is missing. It was destroyed so the Republic could not cease it, but there are back-ups… Gendo knows where they are. He’s alive, by the way.”

Burke chuckled again. “… Of course, I can’t reach him. You can. You have the political pull to do so.”

It was obvious what Burke wanted from The Master. He knew he could not expect a favor for free.

“… As for The Doctor… he’s a problem to us both. The Plumbers need to be stopped. They could ruin everything. Luckily, the Doctor screwed up… and I have a way to insure that the Plumbers are destroyed, and from the inside no less.”

He smirked. “So, what do you say? Feel like finding Ikari, killing the Doctor and bringing back the NERV program? Should make for a fun weekend.”

[The Black Omen]

Daak grinned, and swooped in close to one of the massive Dalek ships. He aimed his ships cannons, and fired wildly. He was not trying to destroy it – yet – he was simply drawing its attention.

[…]

“Kanna.”

Rica had been looking for Kanna since he realized she was not in the room, and when he finally found her rushing back, he moved over. He had a serious look on his face, and for one rare moment he did not have his flirty smirk playing on his lips.

“Are you alright?” He asked.

[Jungle Planet]

Sama staggered a bit, and clutched his head. He was not feeling well at the moment, but could not let that slow him down. He looked around, and saw Cosmo and Silver working together – and boy was it working!

The vines were crushing the Metarex Apes as quickly as they appeared; in fact, the apes seemed to be slowing their assault. He did not know if Sonic had followed Pale Bay Leaf or not, but Sama had some hope.

Still, he was worried about Rei and Jagan. Could they save them?

He tried to place a call to Otacon, but even CODEC was still scrambled. He looked around. The apes finally slowed down, and then, at length, the last one was crushed by Cosmo.

He paused, and then collapsed, falling onto his knees and barely managing to catch himself on his palms. He was breathing heavily now.

“Uh… Everyone, listen up! We have a chance to get back to our ship, but… two of our group are missing! I have to go after them, but if anyone wants to go back to the ship and wait, this is your only chance!”

[Dream?]

As Jagan watched on, Rei and KOS-MOS stood face to face with the women whose death had been the catalyst for their lives.

Sarah Kerrigan. Once a brilliant and beautiful soldier in the employ of the Republic, she had volunteered for a top secret experiment, which had granted her psychic abilities. She also had a brief romance with the scientist in charge of the experiment, which had proved to be one of the worst things for humanity in centuries.

She explained it all to Rei and KOS-MOS. How she had been sent on a mission with a young Marine named Raynor, and how the two had fallen in love. She told them of Burke’s jealous rage, and how he had purposefully sent Raynor and Kerrigan into contact with the Zerg.

He explained how Raynor managed to escape with the help of a Protoss named Zeratul, and how she had become infested. She told them that Burke had tried in vain to resurrect Kerrigan, and how he had failed and moved on to cloning her.

She explained that the first clone was a android; KOS-MOS. She told KOS-MOS that Burke found her a failure, and that he sold her as a weapon (ironically, to the Protoss, who had failed to save Kerrigan’s life before.)

She explained that the second clone, Rei Ayanami, had also been considered a failure for she, like KOS-MOS, lacked all of Sarah’s personality. Burke had used Rei as part of the Evangelion program after she was rejected, and ultimately he had used his TARDIS to steal Infested Kerrigan’s corpse from the Cargo Ship before it exploded and turned her into the android T-Elos.

When Sarah finished the (lengthy) explanation, both Rei and KOS-MOS were silent.

“… What do we do from here?” Rei asked; but before she could get her answer, she awoke, and vanished from the dreamscape!

[Metarex Fortress]

On the jungle planet, Rei had just woken up… to find herself in a massive tube that was rapidly filling with a strange liquid.

She finally had the answers to her past; and now she was about to die.

"If it comes to it, sergeant, perhaps I'll have to. As it IS, however, I'll sooner have to shoot YOU, it seems, and again, I WILL do it if THAT'S what it takes."

Then, Caraway appeared.

“… Colonel. I understand EarthCom wants to brag about your unit’s success to the officials here, but if this one gives you too much trouble, we can find a nice desk job for her.”

"Yes, sir...she...she IS giving me quite a bit of trouble...in fact, sir, she may well be a danger to the security of the summit. I'm doing what I can to restrain her, but...again, I fear that she may do something reckless. Additionally-"

He grabbed her arms again. Tightly, to prevent her from moving them.

"She's brought a weapon aboard. I would suggest confiscating it immediately."

His tone switched back to his "scolding" one.

"And don't you THINK about resisting it." he said to Asuka. "I told you what I'm willing to do, and your attitude sure wouldn't make it any HARDER for me."

“So The Doctor did survive, huh? Tell me, is his new form ginger? I remember him wanting red hair,” The Master smirked, leaning against a wall as Burke talked.

“As for Gendo, sounds like a plan. I don't think I can spring him legally, but...since when have either of us done that?” The Master smiled, “I'll see about him getting transferred to a different prison, then have an...associate, break him out en route and brought to us.”

Did The Master trust Burke? Not really. But he didn't care. The drums told him this would make more chaos. More chances for war...

Ballroom

Visser One mingled with a few other guests, as Visser Three looked around the room. The Andalites were very anxious in his presence, naturally...

<She's smart to bring a weapon> a voice said, in their heads. Thought-speak.

One of the Andalites approached Didymus, Asuka, and Caraway, <I apologize for my intrusion. I couldn't help but overhear...I am...Aximilli...Elfangor's younger brother.>

Any other Andalite would have called him 'Emperor Elfangor' though. But his younger brother didn't. The humans would have realized he was smaller then the other Andalites. He was, in Andalite terms, a teenager.

<We Andalites always have a weapon, with us> Aximilli added. He gestured with his bladed tail. <Not something we can get rid of, unless we morph*, though we don't use the DNA of sentient species unless we have permission. And the Yeerks...can't trust them.>

None of the Andalites would trust the Yeerks as far as they could throw them...Though Yeerks could probably be thrown pretty far, but that's beside the point.

* (Andalite morphing technology. When exposed to the device, any species can then absorb the DNA of anything else, with DNA. They can then turn into a copy of what they acquired. It only last two hours, and if they stay past that, they're stuck in that form permanently, and a second use of the Morphing Device will not work. Additionally, memories and personality are not also copied. Though instincts are.)

-The Black Omen-

Galv sat down next to Melanie. He couldn't see very well in the dim light, but he didn't need to.

“I won't leave you alone, Melanie. No matter what,” Galv said, trying to comfort the girl. He pulled her into a hug, letting her rest against him. Her powers always seemed to make her feel colder then others, but that just made Galv want to hold her closer, in some attempt to warm her up.

“She's worried...naturally,” Ethan said, also there, of course. He glanced to Rica, then to Kanna. She was in a fragile mood. If fighting occurred, she might make a mistake.

“Kanna...no one would think any less of you if you stayed with the children. They need someone strong, like you, to help them if something does happen. Not that I'd let anything get through,” Ethan said to the woman, “We all have someone we want to protect.”

-Jungle Planet-

Silver began to make his way forward, letting Cosmo handle the offensive, while he handled the defensive. He wondered how long he could last like this though...It was draining...

Sonic, meanwhile, bounded forward, shooting up a tree, and grabbing it's top. He ran down, pulling the top of the tree with him, until it was either let go and be flung.

“Here we go!” Sonic yelled, using one of the catchphrases his Nintendo rival says. He shot up into the air and forward, being propelled by the tree like a slingshot, curling into a ball and using his Sonic Spin to shoot over the trees, heading right for the fortress!

“Why don’t you TRY it? You’re still suffering under the delusion that you CAN beat me in a fight.” Asuka growled, despite the fact he had her fully restrained. The two had gone back to bickering in no time, and now there were threats being leveled as well.

“I’d rather neither of you harms the other in any way. You’re both representing the Republic, and if either of you is injured – for whatever reason – by the other, it will be an embarrassment to our Planet and our species.”

Caraway was familiar with being an embarrassment to the Republic. His daughter was a certified terrorist! A really lousy terrorist, yes, but that’s still not a pretty picture for the 24-hour news channels.

“… Soryu…” Caraway was about to take the gun, when Aximilli appeared. He was the brother of the Andalite Emperor, and Caraway instantly tensed up.

He listened to Aximilli, and frowned. “Yes… I understand your concerns about the Yeerks, but I would rather settle our differences with a treaty than a bullet. Soryu was out of line.”

Monitor Room

“Hasn’t got his red hair yet; but I’d happily kill him and let him regenerate again.” Burke smirked, though he would have preferred the Doctor not regenerate ever again.

“As for Gendo, sounds like a plan. I don't think I can spring him legally, but...since when have either of us done that?”

“The law is a trivial thing; especially a law made by humans… such pathetic creatures. These… THINGS… barely live a hundred years when they’re lucky, and yet they’ve colonized the stars…”

Burke shook his head. “At any rate, getting Gendo back and using Shin-Ra as the new NERV is only half the problem. My research… well, my notes are gone forever. Even Gendo doesn’t have them… but the subjects of my research should still be alive. We’d just have to track them down…”

[The Black Omen]

“She's worried...naturally,”

“So am I.” Rica admitted, though not for the same reasons as Kanna. “From what I understand, we can’t get back to normal space while the Daleks are attacking us.”

He shook his head. “You should stay with the children, Kanna. Ethan, you should come with me. I need to see Nova and The Doctor. We’re going to take care of these trash cans.”

[Jungle Planet]

“Crystal! Cosmo! Silver! This way!”

Sama followed along the path towards the fortress, obviously slower than Sonic. He was still stumbling and seemed weak, but ignored that.

At the fortress where Sonic (and eventually, the others) would soon arrive, the Metarex were everywhere. They were all over the outside; and to top it off, there was only door to enter the facility.

Behind that door, however, was a many terrible things…

“Why don’t you TRY it? You’re still suffering under the delusion that you CAN beat me in a fight.”

"This from someone who's convinced that I HAVE beaten her before?" he shot back.

Rachel stepped in, and quickly took Asuka's gun while Didymus kept her restrained.

“I’d rather neither of you harms the other in any way. You’re both representing the Republic, and if either of you is injured – for whatever reason – by the other, it will be an embarrassment to our planet and our species.”

Didymus spoke again.

"Yes sir, I understand, and I assure you, I'd rather not harm Soryu, but if it comes down to it...she was going to do things that could have ruined this summit or started a war. This CANNOT be allowed...I've been told, if she goes off, I'm to take the blast, sir...again, being a tad embarrassed and still getting a successful talk is preferable to letting this time bomb go off and producing another war..."

“Yes… I understand your concerns about the Yeerks, but I would rather settle our differences with a treaty than a bullet. Soryu was out of line.”

Still restraining Asuka, Didymus nodded at Ax.

"I echo the brigadier general's statement..." he said. "...and I'm sorry, I don't mean to offend or disregard you, but this REALLY isn't the best time for meet-and-greet."

Rachel stepped back.

"I'll deal with this contraband." she said, in reference to Soryu's weapon.

"And come back with some of those power-restraining bots...I don't want to take any chances with Soryu..." he said.

Metarex Fortress

The moment Rei woke up, Jagan was yanked out of the weird dream as well, sitting up suddenly, breathing hard as he eyes the room around him wildly. His emotions were all out of whack, and it took him almost a minute to settle himself and again fall behind the emotionless mask of a Grammaton Cleric.

The room he was in was white with a high-tech camera watching his every move within the chamber. Stark white, barely any light inside, and no visible entrance or exit.

It was a prison cell. And he was obviously disarmed, since the pistols were gone.

However, no prison cell was EVER ready for a fully-equipped Grammaton Cleric. The Tetragrammaton Clergy were all taught the skills to survive, both as frontline combatants, assassins AND espionage agents. Jagan, beside combat training and extensive mental conditioning, has been put through a trying program that left him prepared for pretty much any situation, at least mentally.

And equipped by Nova, Jagan was possibly the worst kind of opponent to bring into the Fortress, because now he was inside the building instead of being kept outside.

Quickly, he went to work. Rei was not with him, which meant that she was either in a separate cell, undergoing interrogation or something of the sort. Which meant that she was in as much trouble as he was, if not more. But first, he had to get out of here.

Advanced cameras were usually a good thing. They could pick up motions, they could pick up lifesigns, and they could keep monitoring in the worst of weather conditions. However, more often than not, advanced cameras meant electronics. Shielded electronics, but electronics nonetheless. And no electronics were safe from a well-placed EMP. Jagan typed something up on his watch, and a small gadget discreetly appeared in his hand. He made it look as though he was hitting the watch in frustration, when really he was taking aim, and threw the small gadget at the camera.

The gadget, a small ball at first, impacted with the side of the camera, and deployed into a tiny spider-like robot that scuttled over the camera, drilled directly through the lighted lens and burst an EMP directly to the internal electronics, sending the camera haywire while the gadget connected to the camera's circuits. A camera lens deployed on the little spider-bot, and aimed in the same direction as the camera, and as the camera was quickly reset, the gadget hacked into the circuits and produced a false image, making Jagan stand up to pace around the room, looking frustrated.

The real Jagan, however, was doing something else entirely. The moment the camera was modified, Jagan dove into his compressed-dimension pocket on the back of his belt again, and removed several discs. Then, he walked around the room, scanning the walls with a layered scan, finding an approximate doorway. Having found it, Jagan placed the discs in a door-like shape, and backed away as he activated the first one. The discs connected by a beam of light that began to melt into the wall, slowly melting a doorway. Once done, the discs deployed catchers, making sure the metallic plate now free from the rest of the wall remained where it was. Jagan came closer to the pushed a small button on one of them as the discs slowly extended, one side remaining firmly planted on the surrounding wall, while the other slowly, surely removed the newly made door inward and to the side, setting it against the wall. Jagan removed the discs once the process was complete, and quickly backed against a wall next to the new exit he just made for himself.

Peeking outside, he deployed several more of the strange spider-like bots, which scuttled quickly along the walls, homing in on the nearest camera and repeating the process, hacking into the circuits to make it look as though there was no new hole in the hallway.

Jagan again dove into the pocket, and set up a pair of smaller, oval-shaped wall plates next to the entrance he just made, the plates melding with the wall's color to become almost completely invisible. They were proximity mines, set to detonate if someone came to investigate the open hole in the wall. Slowly, a shimmering image appeared between the two plates, and the image settled into a holographic projection, making it look as though there was actually a wall there, just like it was supposed to be.

Clicking a few more buttons on his watch, Jagan set the system to monitor his progress and create a virtual, 3-dimensional map of the facility as he went. Then, he began a general scan inside the facility, finding general directions, aligning himself correctly on a horizontal and vertical axis based on his previous position, and even tried to scan for active machinery.

Well... That didn't work too well, because almost everything in there was active machinery. So he instead scanned for biological lifesigns. The scan wasn't fully effective, because of the massive amount of interference of high-tech in this area, but he did pick up lifesigns inside their fortress. A few small bugs, a pair of small animals hiding in the cargo bay, trees... And a humanoid.

Bingo. He found Rei. But it was quite a distance away, and where she was did NOT look like a prison cell.

That meant trouble.

Moving quickly, Jagan ended the scan, and clicked a few more buttons on his watch, the suit he was in linking together more fully, becoming a skin-tight stealth suit, the red lines muting to nothing. Jagan finished the ensemble with a pair of red tech-goggles. Then, he activated the stealth feature of his suit, and slunk away, moving silently and quickly down a hallway until he came to the main chamber... The factory.

Here, he quickly backed up against a wall as a Metarex passed by, scanning. Jagan's suit, thankfully, masked his presence enough.

Quickly, he scuttled along the wall, his suit's fingers and toes magnetically clinging to the metallic walls while at the same time masking the magnetic presence. He scuttled over a few dozen strange machines, pistons, vats, and other unsavory-looking things before he came up on a set of tubes...

One of which was quickly filling up with a strange liquid. The same one that was currently holding Rei.

And, unluckily enough for Jagan, there were four guards standing around the tube. Just his bad luck that he ended up in this situation. Luckily, he had the option of a silent take-down. He COULD try to distract them, but it would most likely make them much more guarded, so he was going to have to do this quickly.

The tube was already half-full as he began to work. Slinking up behind one of the Metarex, he took out a small disc and slapped it onto the the back of the guarding Metarex. Before it could do anything about the gadget Jagan slapped on, the small ball drilled into the armor of the Metarex with a tiny Plasma-core drill, and detonated a powerful EMP inside the armor. Metarex were usually shielded from EMP bursts, but without armor in the way, all electronic circuits were fried instantly, dropping it.

However, this alerted the other three and Jagan had to act quickly. Using the Metarex as a vault, he jumped onto the second one, his stealth feature still up and running as he slapped another one of those gadgets directly on the Metarex's eye. Similarly, the gadget drilled in and detonated an EMP, dropping the second. Then, he SHOVED the third Metarex into the fourth, distracting both of them as they got ready for an assault, and dropped two more of those drilling EMP explosives, dropping the last two Metarex like flies.

He turned back to the tube. It was 3/4ths full, and Rei barely had her head above the liquid. He had to act quickly.

he took out another disc, this one much larger, and slapped it onto the bottom of the tube. The disc deployed a quartet of laser-heated Fullerene blades, which immediately bit into the tube's surface and began to circle at high speeds, adding friction to cutting power, cutting through the material like a buzzsaw. It took a few seconds, but then the disc dropped away, the pressure of the liquid inside forcing through the opening, spilling off to the side.

Jagan quickly took a look around, hustling as much as he could, placing 8 of the laser-cutting discs from before onto the tube's outer surface. They immediately began to make a much bigger circular hole, but Jagan wasn't satisfied yet.

He knew that he had bare SECONDS before an alert sounded. Before he had time, but now he dropped four Metarex. He would be LUCKY if an alarm wasn't raised. So he hurried, placing another pair of metallic plates on the tube, the plates melding themselves with the color of the tube. They would project a similar hologram to the one he used on his cell previously.

Black Omen

Desty Nova watched carefully where The Doctor pointed, and nodded. He again remade the map, and the computer calculated the odds quickly, running on Desty Nova's own super-mind. The odds calculated, a new tactical approach appeared, and several spots that previously were missed were now labeled as yellow on the map, signifying possibility of breach. Desty grinned.

"Very well! Let's see if this is truly how they played!"

And he deployed 3 of his special-case Annihilator bombs into these areas, the bombs deploying from their bays in the huge ship, rocketing to their destination... And exploding!!!

While Desty Nova laughed at his apparent new success at defense of the ship, the nanite continued to reconstruct KOS-MOS... And chaos began to get worried. This KOS-MOS, while she retained her general appearance, structure and facial features, looked completely different in body.

He wasn't sure what was going on, but he had a certain amount of faith in Nova. He would see what was going on before making his judgment on the situation. And besides, she looked much more sleek. Much more lithe. And obviously was upgraded MASSIVELY from her original model.

The Crazy One

[Metarex Fortress]

The tube containing Rei was quickly filling with an odd greenish liquid the consistency of syrup. Inside the tube, Rei was already up to her neck with the liquid, and she did not look well for it. Suddenly, Jagan was there, attacking the four Metarex Apes and using strange gadgets to attack the tube.

She felt lightheaded and could not fully comprehend what was going on. Suddenly, the tube shattered because of the cuts made, and the thick green liquid spilled onto the crisp white floor. Rei spilled out too, coughing and hacking for a moment.

‘What was that…?’ Rei wondered. She looked up to see Jagan, and the guards. He had dispatched the ones here. She slowly crawled onto her hands and looked up at him. She prepared to thank Jagan for saving her life, but suddenly a red light filled the room and a loud alarm blazed.

Down the hall a bit to the left, the wall seemed to open. Several large Metarex Apes stepped out, and they charged down at Rei and Jagan instantly, carrying odd electronic sticks to try to stun them.

On the other side of the hall, another door opened, but nothing seemed to be coming out; it was clearly a trap.

[…]

When Jagan killed the guards and triggered an alarm; the alarm went all over the fortress. It also alerted the guards outside, who spotted Sonic and the others.

Several Metarex leapt at them, the same monkeys as before. However, a new Metarex was here too – a gigantic dragon Metarex, who could shoot missiles easily.

[Point Lookout]

“Will you both stop acting like this is nothing!?” Asuka growled loudly, starring at Caraway and Didymus with hatred in her eyes. She was used to Didymus having the exact opposite opinion as she held; but considering Caraway’s own daughter was more of a rebel than Asuka, she was surprised at how he was acting.

“Those THINGS are our enemies! Even if Ingleson betrayed our species, there’s a LOT of people who never made that choice, and they’re FORCED to have those Yeerks control them! This isn’t a matter of one person making a choice, it’s a matter of those dirty slugs want to use our species as cars! What are we even discussing, anyway? Why don’t we just blow them the hell up!?”

Asuka clearly was not cut out of diplomacy or politics. She had a fiery personality, and she truly did not like the idea of the Yeerks… but a great deal of her anger was focused on Maria. She was shocked that someone she had once respected so much could willingly partner with those monsters…

GRAPPLING HOOK!

The Black Omen

Kanna looked as if she had been slapped in the face. She looked at both men, red faced and obviously offended at the thought that she should stay behind. Especially after all that had happened.

"You both think i'm going to sit back while these THINGS are attacking?! Like hell I am! I will beat them to the ground!"

It was obvious that Kanna was not in a good mood. She also didn't seem like she was in a very stable mood either. It looked like behind the anger her voice was shaking.

"Neither of you can tell me not to fight. If they come on this ship I will. It's just a matter of killing them before they kill you."

[...]

Meanwhile Melanie and Galv were still sitting in the dark room. She sat there against the boy in silence, every now and then shivering. Like Galv had noticed her body temperature was almost always low, and was even moreso when she was under stress. This had lead to a few colds and even a slight case of pneumonia as a child but nothing too serious. Jason had faced the opposite problem when he was still alive, and Kanna faced a variation of the two.

Luckily Galv was warm. She supposed it was because of his own powers. She was lucky to have the redhead, if she hadn't met him she would most likely be sitting here alone.

If he wasn't here she would most likely be dead actually.

The room had been silent for almost ten minutes (or what she guessed to be ten) when she finally decided to break the silence.

"What do you think is happening out there?"

Jungle Planet

Sama told them to follow and Cosmo held on tight, knowing that would probably be what they did.

Crystal rushed up beside Sama. Bunny merely eyed him "Are you okay?"

Bunny just wanted to eat his hair.
