[TRS Crusader] “I was given records, YES, but they’re incomplete… they have to be!” The doctor insisted. He turned and went to the corner to speak on a communicator for several minutes. He then returned, looking as grumpy as ever. “Are you all playing me for games?” The doctor seemed upset. “The records I had before match these new ones… but there’s something MISSING from all of them! She has surgical scars that aren’t accounted for in any of these records. Somebody’s holding out on me!” “Inaccurate.” Rei had returned, now in a hospital gown, escorted by one of the nurses. Her vision was gone, but her hearing still worked. “There were many medical procedures administered in those days that were listed on separate records. It is entirely possible that these records were never ceased by the Republic.” The doctor swore loudly and spoke to the nurse again. “If that’s the case… damn! Well, no matter. Yes, she’s awake, Colonel… she’s FINE as far as I can tell… this is a new one, I’ve never experienced something like this in all my years…” |

T.R.S. Crusader-infirmary Didymus nodded. "Misato, I'll send another request up the CoC, but in the meantime...is there anything you can do?" Misato paused...she was hesitant about trying to use her NERV clearance, but she took a look at Rei, and Asuka... ...her maternal instincts kicked in. "I'll see what I can do." she said. Meanwhile, Didymus relayed this information to EarthCom again via his PDA. "Alright, do what you can, doc. Stabilize Miss Soryu, and get someone working on getting Miss Ayanami's eyesight back again, would you? And what do you think I should do? Miss Ayanami seems fine, but would it be safe for me to converse with Soryu? Considering the details of our encounter just a few minutes ago?" |

[TRS Crusader] The doctor shook his head. “I’ll get started on Ayanami myself… blindness I can deal with, but this… bah! Talk to her if you want, I really can’t tell you if it’s safe or not. He marched off as a nurse called him over, and he proceeded to curse more. He was clearly upset about something. Asuka was in the back, in a bed, strapped to several machines. They beeped and booped and there was a holographic image on one of the machines, tracking abnormalities in Asuka’s body. The small green hologram that represented her body was full of red dots that represented abnormalities. Asuka looked terrified… until she noticed Didymus had arrived, when she instantly crossed her arms and closed her eyes. One oddity was that she was able to cross her arms so well… she appeared not to be in pain any longer. “… I suppose I’m going to end up in some institution for study soon, won’t I?” |

( http://srb.sonicrapidboard.com/index.php?s...opic=1615&st=60 :heh:) T.R.S. Crusader-infirmary Didymus glanced over Asuka, and shrugged, walking over beside her bed. "They say you're fine, except your vitals are going crazy. I suppose it's something that those...individuals...at NERV did to you...but how is it? Seriously, you can tell me. That is, if you want. If you just want to ignore any struggle and tell me how you're just the picture of health, I'll just smile and nod, if that'll help." he remarked, sarcastically, of course. "As for going to some institution for study...not if I have anything to say about it. I need good pilots. Anyone who wants to cart you off to a lab where you can just get studied and scanned for the next few years has to get through me first. I want you flying at my side, Miss Soryu, not serving as a lab rat. I really do think you can amount to something, despite our earlier exchange." He actually tried to give her a wry smile. |

((I have sooooo much to read back on that one... I'm trying to get caught up, but Skype and video games distract me. XD)) [TRS Crusader] “… I don’t know half of what they did.” Asuka sighed in a soft, somewhat meek voice. She hugged her knees against her chest and let out a sigh. Physically, she seemed fine – she did not even seem to be in pain from before earlier. I really do think you can amount to something, despite our earlier exchange." “… You think so, do you? … Thank you. I… I didn’t mean to come across as such a b<>h before… it’s just the way I am. Blunt, rude… that’s me. Like it or lump it.” The doctor appeared behind Didymus. “… Can I speak to you, Colonel? Alone?” He did not wait for an answer. He pulled Didymus out of the back room and over to his side office, and promptly closed the door to make sure no one else would hear – he also made sure Misato did not follow. “… Colonel, I have a theory.” The doctor said cryptically. “Those two… they were both involved with NERV at different points. I’ve done some study on other patients who had previously been in NERV’s programs, and studied the notes confiscated from them. It’s damn bad.” He shook his head. “Nearly everyone I examined exhibited… strange things. Genetic abnormalities and mutations that defied logic… things I couldn’t begin to make sense of. Soryu and Ayanami are two of the only ones who didn’t exhibit SOME type of ability brought on by systematic genetic manipulation.” He shook his head. “Both of them were also EVA pilots, correct? From what I understand, those damn machines were destroyed recently… what if the reason Soryu and Ayanami never developed powers was because of the EVAs? They were… connected to those machines in such a way, it’s possible the genetic mutations were augmented by the EVAs and kept dormant… and now, with the EVAs gone, the long-slumbering mutations are starting to take effect.” The doctor was spinning what could be considered a very odd theory… but after some of the things that the ‘NERV Children’ had been known to be able to do, was it really that far out there? “… If I’m right, we don’t know what to expect. They could just develop these powers like anyone else who went through what those damn fools did to them… or the suddenly stress on their bodies could kill them.” He was a blunt, angry, grumpy man. |

I can't see what you're imagining
|
-Nova's Ship- “I never knew my family either,” Aiden added, “Only person I really knew was Felix here!” She grinned hugging Felix, “He was...and is, my best friend!” Aiden nodded matter of factly, and Galv couldn't help but smile at Felix and Aiden. “I suppose you're right, Felix...” Galv nodded, “Hopefully he'll be...nice...I do wonder what power he has...” [. . .] “Come on...I told you I was pretty sure I was crazy...Whatever you want to say should be fine,” Erin smirked, leaning into Jason as they walked. -Black Mesa Research Institution- The Doctor paused, moving to the side of the wall to remain unseen, listening in. He didn't bother considering using the psychic paper. He doubted it would work on Burke. But now that he was near the man...Something was off. Burke was...He wasn't human. The Doctor could tell. It felt...familiar. Almost as if... “...No...He couldn't be...Only The Master and I survived the Wars...And he's not The Master...” The Doctor thought to himself. He looked around, then stepped forward. “Burke!” The Doctor yelled, striding forward, “I didn't think we'd meet this soon.” Did he have a plan? Possibly. It didn't matter if he didn't. He was The Doctor. He'd think of something. -The Yeerk Pool- “Foooooooddddd...” a Taxxon hissed, staring at KOS-MOS. “Do not get to close,” Erek warned again, “They are sentient...But their constant hunger drives most of them to madness.” “Yikes...I wouldn't want to become one of them,” Ben frowned. Erek merely nodded, and led them into a building, where another Taxxon was kept, several guards by it. The Taxxon fed on some sort of slop, and looked up when Erek and the others appeared. “This is the Sub-Visser left in charge of the pool here, who formally surrendered to the U.T.R.,” Erek said, “Sub-Visser, these are...allies. They are looking for a man named Max Tennyson.” “Maxxx...Tennysssssoon?” the Yeerk hissed, having difficulty speaking English/Standard/whatever the U.T.R. speaks or is called, with the Taxxon tongue, “Yessss...I know of himmmm...” The Taxxon Controller skittered upwards, his upper body rearing up, higher then the humans. “He wasssss...a sssssppy,” he continued, “Vissssser Twwwoooo wasssss quite angry when he was found out...” He stared at them through the large, jello-like eyes. “He wassss...captured...Made into...a hosssst...” the Sub Visser said, “It isssss...most unfortunate.” He then coughed something, speaking in some sort of garbled language that the others wouldn't be able to understand. Erek nodded intently. “I see...” Erek said, and turned back to the others, “It seems he does not know where the Pool ship carrying the humans captured here went. But before they were left here, he heard rumors...The top Vissers were gathering for something. Some sort of project...It is...a weak lead, but a lead.” “So what do we do then?” Ben wondered, looking worried. “We must draw the Yeerks towards us, somehow. Make it work their while to investigate. Then, we can get more information...But taking on an entire Yeerk force will be...difficult. And possibly deadly. Or worse,” Erek answered. He stared intently at the group. “Is there anything you wish to ask the Sub Visser here?” Erek inquired, “If not, I suggest we head back to the surface to discuss the next plan of action.” -Mobotropolis- “I'll deal with fire boy!” Sonic yelled, racing towards Magma Man, running around quickly, creating a vacuum to put out the fire! -T.R.S. Crusader: Medical Bay- Silver watched, as the humans ran back and forth, trying to figure out what was happening. He listened intently to Didymus and the doctor discuss things. No one seemed to be paying him attention. “Excuse me,” the hedgehog said, stepping forward, “I...I think I might be able to help. You said something about powers developing. Well...” Silver's hands glowed, and a clipboard floated around them, until settling back down. “I have powers. I was born with them. They're...psychic powers. I'm not to well versed with the mental aspect, but I have a bit of training. Perhaps I can help the two understand and focus on what's happening. Maybe try and direct the energies into channels that won't harm them,” Silver explained, “It might be worth a shot...That is, if you'll trust me.” |

NL Apocalypse Jagan just answered with a curt nod, just as mechanical and emotionless as before. It was frightening how similar this man was to a certain EVA pilot, but Jagan exuded strength. Strength and a mental will that simply could not be broken any more than it already has. Looking into his eyes was like looking at a wall of solid adamantine. Unshakeable in any situation, purely logical... The perfect soldier... "I will be able to run you through the simulation at your earliest convenience. They will be low-level to mid-level control simulations, followed by low-level combat simulations. They hold no possible threat of mental meltdown or would do any damage whatsoever. Rest assured, the pilots are monitored for any abnormalities." Desty grinned. "You heard him. As I said, you are fully welcome to the Apocalypse. Oh, and I really don't understand your concerns with having your pilots here on my ship. I am fully capable of traversing the distance from across the other side of the planet to my current location within a manner of minutes. Distance is a very... Relative thing when it comes to my machinery." Desty grinned rather sneakily. "I can, after all, take but mere hours on my ship to traverse the distance between Earth and the star it orbits. And that is without using any sort of FTL travel methods. Do not think that at any point would your pilots be anywhere but reachable." He shrugged. "But if you so wish, I could always pull up next to the UTR fleet and slow the orbiting speed of the NL Apocalypse. I do not see the necessity, but if it would please the upcoming commander of Philanthropy, I think I can make a few allowances." He fixed the goggles, and Elf suddenly appeared beside him, holding another plate of flan. Desty grinned, accepted it... And Zwölf came up to Sama, offering a plate of flan and a spoon to him as well. "Care for some flan, Sama? And anything else you might require? I am most eager to be of any service at all. After all, I am here to perform a few experiments of my own... Well, before going on to my mission, that is. I HAVE acquired the key I was looking for after all..." ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Yeerk Pool As the group walked, chaos watched as KOS-MOS analyzed the creature, storing whatever weaknesses she saw in her databanks, in her memory. She would be able to fight them and destroy them now, whether they realized it or not. She was a machine... And more than capable. When they arrived to see the Sub-Visser, chaos just watched intently. Here was another living creature, another species. A dangerous species that lived a life of deceit and destruction, but they lived... But couldn't help but let out a silent "no..." as he listened to the bad news, learning that Ben's grandfather was now infested by one of these things. The Yeerks definitely did not look like the best of aliens, but the concept of a mind-attaching slug... It was enough to almost send shivers down his back. He almost started imagining how he would perhaps be taken over by one of these things, before ruthlessly squashing that particular notion. He was not weak, not so weak as to imagine something that was not likely to happen. When Erek asked his last question, chaos stepped forward. "Yes. I do have a question. You have surrendered to the UTR, but these "others" have not. IS there a peaceful solution we might be able to reach that you can think of? One that will not cost any bloodshed from either of our species? There has to be something... I do not want to see any of my friends harmed... Neither do I want to see you hurt in any way." He had to help the boy's grandfather, but he did not want to see living things hurt, much less killed. Certainl a naive view of the world... But chaos could not help it. It always hurt him to see the death of any living creature. |

[Nova’s Ship] Felix couldn’t help but blush a bit when Aiden hugged him and proclaimed him as her best friend; however he also felt a bit of guilt and some pain. In all this time, she still considered him her best friend, and he had been apart for so long… He never went back for her. He sighed and bit his lip, but turned his attention back to Galv. “I’m sure he’ll be nice… and if not, well… at least you’ll know. You won’t have to spend every day wondering what your family is really like… you get a chance to know!” […] Sama listened to Desty and was, needless to say, impressed by his claims of speed. He was also a bit dubious… as anything that impressive had the unfortunate distinction of sounding too good to be true. Unfortunately, he had to shake his head. “Actually, if you could get us there, it would be beneficial. You could have an opportunity to meet with the pilots, and I can check up on their condition. One of them was injured in duty on Mobius.” He paused. “… Of course, I wonder how Didymus would feel about us suddenly showing up… I can’t imagine he’d be pleased if I let your people on his ship without consulting with him.” When he was handed the Flan, he nodded to Zwölf. “Thank you! I’ve always had a soft spot for this stuff…” That was the extent to which I will reference SK&WS in this RP. Possibly. [Black Mesa Research Institution] As The Doctor made himself known, two guards approached him. Burke, however, waved them off. “Stop… let him through.” Burke allowed a small smile to play on his face. He did not recognize The Doctor’s newest regeneration, but he admired this stranger’s boldness. “… Now, just who are you? To break into this installation is mighty impressive, stranger. You seem to be looking for me, well now you’ve found me. What do you intent to do? Kill me? I assure you, that is harder than you can imagine.” Burke smirked. Scarlett and the guards merely stood by and did nothing, since Burke seemed alright with this man being here. [The Yeerk Pool] Kevin watched the monster as it explained what had happened to Max. He did not say a word the entire time. The fact that Ben’s grandfather was now a ‘host’ for a Yeerk… “My question is for you,” Kevin said to Erek, raising an eyebrow. “How exactly are we supposed to make it ‘worth their while’ to investigate? You have any high-level captives or some piece of their technology they absolutely have to get back?” [TRS Crusader] Rei looked over to Silver, and her face changed from stoic to… inquisitive. “… Do you believe you could be a help in this matter?” She asked quietly. |

-Colony 049: The Yeerk Pool- There was a pause, as the Sub Visser considered chaos' words. “...No...not that I can foorrrrssseeee...” he answered, and looked towards Erek. “...Allow me to explain,” Erek said. His body flickered, the hologram turning off, revealing his metallic form, looking almost like a humanoid dog. The room showed a large hologram of a Yeerk. “In there natural state, Yeerks are largely blind and deaf. They can not see, they can not hear. They can not taste, run, feel free. Somehow, evolution, some other species, or whatever god you might believe in, they gained the ability to take control of other sentient species. They managed to take control of another species that was on their planet, the Gedds. They were able to see. To hear. Life. Their culture grew, expanded, then...” Erek paused, unsure of how to go on, “Something happened...The Andalites refer to it as Seerow's Kindness. The Yeerks went into space...and began to infect other species. “The Yeerks do not want to go back to being slugs in a pool of water. The only way they can be free is to take another's freedom...A cruel twist of fate,” Erek concluded, “Unless they can be helped...The Yeerks will continue infecting others.” “Maybe my Omnitrix?” Ben wondered, “Do something with the DNA...” “No,” Erek said, shaking his head, “That would be asking to much. The Omnitrix does not have the power to change a species that greatly.” “Oh...” Ben sighed, frowning. “But...Kevin...you have a good point. We do not have anything that they lost. But we have something they want. All of the Yeerks technology has been modified from other species. They are quite willing to take something they want. Such as the Omnitrix...It would be...good bait,” Erek said, his robot face impassive. “If they have your grandfather, they have knowledge of the Omnitrix...And access to the Plumber network...unless Max destroyed his badge before they got him, which is quite possible.” -Nova's Ship- “I suppose so,” Galv nodded. His father was alive. He paused, thinking out loud, “I wonder...what happened to my mother...” Aiden frowned a little glancing to Felix, who seemed down now, “Is something wrong Felix? You okay?” -T.R.S. Crusader: Medical Bay- “Do I believe....? Honestly, I'm not sure,” Silver said, “But I'm willing to try...It's what The Doctor would have wanted me to. I can't leave someone hanging...Besides, in my time there was this older lady named Joyce. She was human and had powers, and she taught me quite a bit...Though she used darkness and electricity...” The hedgehog paused, lost in a thought, then shook his head, “Anyways...If you're willing to let me help, I'll do my best.” |

NL Apocalypse Desty grinned mightily. "Very well! Let me also alleviate some of your doubts, which you no doubt have about my claims. So, come along! I will show you something interesting! Jagan, you come on as well. After all, I dare not leave you here standing without supervision." And with a wink (HOW does one wink in those goggles? No one knows, only Desty does) to Sama, Desty Nova skipped away. SKIPPED. What kind of a self-respecting super-genius SKIPS? Well, apparently Desty Nova was that kind. He skipped and hummed a tune and Jagan... Seemed just as expressionless as ever, following the skipping Professor Nova. Desty Nova took the shortest possible path to the bridge. Their arrival there was met with a rather annoyed glare from Sechs, who was apparently taking a nap, his feet propped up on the control boards. He yawned widely, giving the skipping Nova a glare of death, before sitting up. "What's got YOU in such a great mood?" Desty just sat down in the center seat with a flair, grinning at Sama. "Please, take a seat, stand, choose whichever. But do observe. We are currently in low-speed orbit over Mobius. In fact, we are almost DIRECTLY on the opposite side of the planet from the UTR Fleet. Now, Sechs... If you would, I would like to visit with the UTR for a little while." Sechs yawned. "So go, sheesh..." Desty clicked his tongue in impatience. "WITH the Apocalypse. Take us there." Sechs finally sat straighter immediately, a cocky smirk appearing on his face. "How fast?" Desty just steepled his fingers in return and sat back in his comfortable-looking captain's seat. "As fast as this ship can go, Sechs." The android's eye lit up in glee as he immediately took over the controls. Hands flying across keyboards, he released all the locks on the ship's systems that Elf put up earlier, evened out their trajectory, and thrust the throttle to full. It seemed as though the ship wasn't really accelerating, no vibration felt from thrusters, no sudden yank backward due to G-forces... But by looking outside, the ship was accelerating at a phenomenal speed. At the speed they were going, the ship took just over a minute, just as Desty predicted, to cross from one side of the planet to another in low orbit, before decelerating as they neared the UTR fleet. Desty simply watched as it happened, and as they neared the UTR Fleet and the ship previously marked as the Crusader, Desty turned to look at the man beside him. "We have delivered you here. If you wish, you can again take the Andromeda with Jagan as the pilot. Otherwise, we can either call a shuttle from the Crusader, or dock the two ships together. The preference if yours." ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Colony 049: Yeerk Pool chaos sighed, running a hand through his hair in frustration. Again, a peaceful solution looked to be unreachable. At least negotiation was out of the question. Perhaps... Perhaps they could stage a rescue that would bring Max and other prisoners out of wherever they were... But first he needed to know where they were. And that in itself was a challenge. And they had to take care of one more rather nasty problem. "If they could listen to us through the badges, would it not be smart for us to turn off said badges as well? If an enemy knows every plan that we have, we are simply going to fall right into a trap of their own devising. "And then, there is the actual lure... Would such a lure truly work? Would the Yeerks really try to obtain that artifact? Think carefully about this, Ben... If they take over your body, I do not know whether I'd be able to help you at all." |

Mobotropolis The fire that surrounded Magma Man like a protective shield fizzed out. His own flame also extinguished. He was now nothing but another useless robot. He surveyed the destruction he caused. Wonderful, plentiful, destruction. Building's burnt, grass scorched...he was satisfied. "Goodbye..." He then fell to the ground on his knees and exploded like Junk Man did. Left behind was a similar piece of machinery that was vital to Magma Man's flame busters. The battle was over. Heaps of junk lie everywhere. Bass was the lone survivor, just as expected... Mobius Atmosphere The capsule that contained Bass soon reached space. It then blasted off into hyperspace, leaving nothing behind. It's destination? Wiley's planet. |

-Nova's Ship- “I wonder...what happened to my mother...” ...Well now she didn't have to worry about posing THAT question... Melanie frowned looking to Galv, fiddling with her food a bit before setting her fork down for the time being "You could ask your...Dad...He might know where she is...Or what happened to her. Maybe she's like Samuel and doesn't know your alive yet...Bet she's nice though, and probably a red head too" Melanie offered the boy a smile, hoping he wouldn't worry about it too much. [...] Jason took a few second to gather his thoughts before speaking...Just in case he sounded like an idiot. "Okay...So this might make me sound like an idiot. But.....I don't date a lot. Can't really between Kanna and Melanie, things get too complicated and I pretty much have to put Mel first. Anyways I was just thinking...We make out...A lot. And well, it's kinda weird if we're NOT boyfriend and girlfriend....Wait wait wait...Before I keep rambling you're sure your not actually related to Galv? I have a feeling it would weird Melanie out..." [...] Kanna debated stomping into the dining area, making a scene, and grabbing Melanie only to have her rush off later with the boy. She would have if she wasn't so horribly worn out by all of this, she DEFINITELY needed to be a heck of a lot more liquored up to get that amount of adrenaline back. Instead she turned to Rica and stood. "A word with you, before the creep with flan comes back..." she asked (okay, not really asked...) -Colony 049: The Yeerk Pool- “In there natural state, Yeerks are largely blind and deaf. While Eva knew not to underestimate alien species it was still rather difficult to understand. “If they have your grandfather, they have knowledge of the Omnitrix...And access to the Plumber network...unless Max destroyed his badge before they got him, which is quite possible.” Gwen frowned a bit "That does sound like grandpa....But if he did destroy his badge then what use would they be to him, unless they knew we'd come to look for him..." |

(Oh snap, I forgot this in my last post. >.<) -Black Mesa Lab Institute- “You killed someone I like,” The Doctor stated, “A very good friend of mine. I don't like people killing my friends. “And if I'm right about you...You're right. I can't kill you. Not when there's so few of us left...You...Jenny...possibly The Master, if he survived...and then me...” The Doctor continued, “Here I was, thinking I was the last, but it looks like we keep popping up left and right.” He took a step forward, “I'm a Plumber...And you can call me The Doctor.” The Doctor pulled out his Sonic Screwdriver, attempting to use it to make the electronics in the room go haywire! -Colony 049: Yeerk Pool- “They are not constantly giving away data. The Yeerks would only know what's been reported to all channels. Which means, I believe, they think The Doctor is dead,” Erek explained to Kevin, “But if they have infected Max Tennyson, they know of the Omnitrix. They would want something like that...Especially Visser Three. As for Max's use, he has a lot of knowledge of alien technology...” "That's....Creepy....But how could they just take control of another species when they were so weak to begin with?" “...Seerow's Kindness,” Erek answered, “I am not allowed to speak on that...” Ben was staring at his Omnitrix, thinking. “...Grandpa Max would do whatever he could to rescue us,” Ben spoke up, “So I'm going to do whatever I can to rescue him. You guys don't have to come if you don't want to.” Seerow's Kindness...The reason Andalites fight so hard against the Yeerks, why they don't like others going against them. An Andalite scientist named Seerow...Discovered the Yeerks. Extended his arm in friendship... -Nova's Ship- “I suppose I should...” Galv nodded to Melanie, “After we finish eating...” He munched his food some more, thinking. He wondered what it would be like having a mom...He hoped she wouldn't be like Kanna. [. . .] “Genetically? No, we're not,” Erin answered, “Neither am I actually genetically related to...to Walter.” Erin faltered in her steps, but then continued, “But they, me...and even that Aiden girl...We were made under the same project. Controlling the elements...And Walter basically...looked over me. That's why he's like my brother...almost like a dad too, I guess...” She glanced up to Jason, “As for being boyfriend and girlfriend, well, I'm not looking for anyone else.” Erin smirked at him again. [. . .] Ethan glanced towards Kanna as she returned, Samuel having passed the two earlier mumbling about how she was crazy. “Something wrong, I take it?” Ethan wondered. |

I'll bite your legs off!

T.R.S. Crusader-infirmary Didymus looked to Silver, then back to the doctor. "Doc, make sure we're in a secure local before filling me in on the secret stuff, would you? As for your theories...and Silver's offer...they're having adverse medical reactions for reasons we ultimately still don't know. As far as we know, it's not that they have powers they simply don't know how to control, but they are having medical problems that they literally CANNOT control. THAT'S what we need to focus on. I'll have to reflect on your theory that they may just break under the stress, doc, but for now, let's try NOT to simply conclude they're goners. Even IF indeed their Evas somehow kept them from having these effects, the theory sounds kind of strange nonetheless...not that it's impossible...anyway, do what you can to stabilize them. And get Ayanami's sight back. Silver, thank you, but we don't know what's happening yet with them. They may not develop any powers at all as much as just be having medical abnormalities we need to pacify. Now, if you'll both excuse me," he said, getting up. "Miss Soryu and I were actually having a civil conversation. I know, I know, gape all you wish." He got a notification on his PDA, and frowned. "Oh dear. We have...guests...THOSE guys...hanging around to try to claim credit for today's victory? No, I doubt that...keep an eye on that ship...we're already at partial combat alert anyway, so I suppose we should be good...he can't take on an entire fleet..." With that, he walked back to Asuka's bed, an eyebrow raised at her. "Sorry about that." he said. He decided to keep silent about the doctor's theories. "Anyway, where were we? You were saying you are what you are, like it or leave it?" He chuckled. "At least you admit it. What REALLY gets me is someone who's just like that, then insists that there's nothing wrong with them. And look, I know I can seem hard at times...I don't want to be, just...just trying to do my duty. That's how I am, and YOU can like it or not, as long as you render proper respects." he chuckled. "Either way, though, I'm glad we can be civil to each other at least SOME of the time. I suppose that will be a boon if we're to fight together." Meanwhile, Misato was looking Rei over. "I...I'm sorry, Rei..." she said. "...I never wanted them to do THIS to you... you were always such a good pilot even BEFORE the proceedures...but why? You just stood there until the colonel showed up and got you, despite being given orders to move by multiple other officers. Why?" Rei not following orders, simply ignoring them, was a strange occurrence. |

[Colony 049: Yeerk Pool] Kevin scowled a bit at the news. To use the Omnitrix as bait seemed like a dangerous, reckless and insane idea. If Ben was infested by a Yeerk, that was pretty much game over. He could transform into a ton of aliens and it would give the Yeerk’s access to a truly terrifying weapon… “Heh… what do you say, Ben? Feel like being bait for a bunch of alien ear slugs?” Kevin asked, crossing his arms. Jordan just shuddered. He and Molly had seen a lot of freaky things, but these Yeerk’s were certainly up there on the list. “Hey, Erek… if someone gets infected by one of these things… is there any way to save them?” Jordan asked. [Nova’s Ship] “Is something wrong Felix? You okay?” Felix sweat dropped and sat up, flushing a bit. “Oh no, I’m fine… I just… I’m reminded of those years with NERV… I…” He paused. He was never particularly brave, and while his powers were strong, he was no pro at using them. Still… “Ah… Galv? I’d like to help if I can.” […] "A word with you, before the creep with flan comes back..." Rica had been rather quiet for a while, since Kanna had expressed a lot of frustration with her many suitors earlier. (He had only been quiet… he still followed her like her shadow). “A word? Certainly. What do you need, Kanna?” Rica smirked. […] Sama turned to Desty and nodded. He was about to say something, when suddenly there was a beeping that only he could hear. “Apologies… I’m getting a call over CODEC. If I could have a moment…” He walked over to the side of the room and touched the skin behind his ear. He was now in a conversation that only he could see and hear. How it worked was anybody’s guess. “Sama, we have a problem.” It was Otacon, the chief science officer of Philanthropy. “It’s Rei and Asuka… the nanomachines in their bodies are going nuts!” Sama frowned. “How can that be? I just gave a print out of their machine’s report to Desty Nova… there was nothing strange on it then.” Otacon nodded. “That report was from back on Mobius… this new development is within the last few minutes. Their bodies are… well, I don’t know how to explain it. There’s been no physical change yet, but their vitals are all over the place… it’s bad, Sama.” A spark of panic flashed in Sama’s eyes, but he ignored it and kept his game face on. “… I see. Do you think it’s the EVA effect?” Otacon adjusted his glasses. “I can’t say for sure, since I’ve only ever seen one case of it before… but it certainly does mimic those symptoms.” Sama swore. “I’m on my way.” Ending the CODEC conversation, Sama turned to Desty Nova. “I’m afraid there’s a small snafu involving my people… I’m afraid I have to take my leave now. I do hope we can speak again soon, and thank you for your help.” Sama nodded, and went with Jagan for transport back to the Crusader. [TRS Crusader: Medical Bay] The Doctor waited for Didymus to return to Asuka before turning to Silver. “You really think you could do something? I’m at a loss… one of the most experienced doctors in the fleet, and I’ve not a clue where to go… should find it ironic, I just find it infuriating.” […] Asuka shrugged. “… Fair enough. Not sure it matters, though… you really think they’ll have me fighting after something like this? I’m NOT doing some desk job, I’ll tell you that right now.” She crossed her arms. […] Rei shook her head, ever so slightly. “… I do not know that I can explain why. It is not that I am refusing to explain, but simply that I do not have an explanation for my behavior. I can explain it no more than I can the reasons for my vision loss.” She paused. “… I have never felt this way before…” [Mobotropolis] Knuckles walked over as Magma Man went down. He raised an eyebrow and then took the small mechanical piece that had been left over from his wreckage as he had done with Junk Man’s. He glanced at Sonic. “I’m going to take these back to Echidnaopolis for study.” He said it very matter-of-factly, and in usual Knuckles stubbornness, was deciding the issue would not be open to debate. There was a reason for it, though… ‘I wonder if it’s time to tell Acorn? … No. Not yet.’ [Black Mesa Research Institute] You're right. I can't kill you. Not when there's so few of us left...You...Jenny...possibly The Master, if he survived...and then me...” Burke’s eyes widened and his mouth drew into a demented sneer. That explained how this man had managed to infiltrate Black Mesa, a installation only accessible via stolen Warp Gate technology. A fellow Time Lord. Burke hardly believed it was possible. Then, he introduced himself, and Burke’s sneer turned into a glare. It was not because the Doctor was destroying the electronics in the room, but because of who he was… The various electronic turrets in the walls deactivated, and some of the security programs went offline, while others went haywire, losing all ability to distinguish friend from foe. Burke merely scowled at the Doctor. “Amazing… of all of us to survive, I suppose YOU would have to be one of the few…” Burke turned and ran down the hall, into his laboratory. The door shut and locked behind him (not that it would do much good against the Sonic Screwdriver) but it would buy him a few seconds. He ran to a machine and pressed in a few keys. Luckily, it was far enough away that it had not been disarmed by the Doctor’s suddenly use of the Screwdriver. In the room, one of the tubes opened… and a female figure stepped out. Burke merely smirked, turned, and waited… |
