I can't see what you're imagining

-Colony 101- Kitchen “So...Kanna...” Ethan began, glancing to the woman, “Are you feeling better?” -Zohar: Burke's Office- Ben frowned. How did he beat a Time Lord...? From what he remembered from The Doctor... “Want to know what species are clever enough to take on a Time Lord?” The Doctor grinned. “Well, yah. You go on about them...” Ben answered. “Only a Time Lord can defeat another Time Lord,” The Doctor answered, “And I'm the Last...So I'm unbeatable.” “Only a Time Lord...huh?” Ben said outloud, a flash of green light, and he returned to his form. He activated the Omnitrix again, staring right at Burke, moving the dial, till it showed a figure that looked remarkably human. “Only use this when no other form will work...” Ben's hand slammed down unto the Omnitrix, and a flash of green light went all around the room. When it died down, it looked Ben was still there, but the Omnitrix was no longer on his wrist, but now on his chest, with the symbol, looking up at Burke. “I see it...Time itself...” Ben muttered, eyes wide, then grinned, “Huh...so this it's what it's like...Being...clever.” Ben grinned, and started fiddling with the Omnitrix on his chest, then walked forward to Burke. “There's The Doctor...The Master...Call me...The Shifter,” Ben smiled, “Time Lord...” -Colony 049- “I don't do that anymore kid. I lost that ideal a while ago,” Peterson said, staring at Rinoa. “It doesn't work. I tried changing things diplomatically before I lead the military part of the Rebellion. I had seen the problems out here first hand...” He sighed, “Trust me. You just have naïve idealism. Nothing I say will be of any help.” |

Colony 101 “And what would you like for your meal, Melanie?” "Oh no, you don't have to cook anything special for me...Whatever is fine" she said shyly, not used to being the one being served. She felt as if she should be helping out or something. "Do you need any help, I know how to cook" “Are you feeling better?” Kanna looked at Ethan "...I'm fine" she said quietly, Melanie still looking at her worriedly. "Well isn't this a nice little family dinner" Jason said heading down the stairs, Erin behind him. He shot his mom a look almost instantly, warning her silently to not say a word to Erin. Kanna groaned under her breath and took another drink of her coffee. It wasn't as nice as wine but right now it gave her a much more level head. Melanie on the other hand looked ecstatic to see her big brother back. |

Zohar: Burke's Office chaos moved his wing to vanish a laser blast headed right for his back, moved it again to vanish another blast, flapped them to release an energy buildup in the wings, thus sending "feathers" of yellow light flying in all directions, feathers that dissipated into yellow sparkles and vanished as well. While his wings were moving and protecting him and whoever else he could from harm, he was thinking as quickly as possible. He had to REVERSE the Sequester to help KOS-MOS, isolate the part of her mind that held her programmed personality. Then, he would have to pull on whatever was not in the programming, coaxing it out... But that was too complicated. He had his wings out already, he just didn't have the concentration, the control to pull off something on that scale. If only he could... But... There was a way! His eyes glowed even brighter as he prepared himself. "KOS-MOS, I will help you. I will do whatever I can. I will fall before I let you do so. However... I need you to FIGHT it for me. You hear me? I need you to help me fight off the control. If you fight it, we have a chance." And his hand shot into the air, grabbing at whatever energy he could find, whatever kinetic energy around him that he could muster, withdrew it, and used it as fuel. This would burn him like a candle, and he would no doubt suffer some SERIOUS aftereffects, but he saw no other choice. Ben as a Time Lord was a tremendous advanta-... "BEN!!! HOLD THEM OFF!! FOR JUST A FEW SECONDS, JUST A LITTLE TIME HOLD THEM OFF!!! PLEASE!!!" And the hand that was in the air lowered down, glowing, on KOS-MOS's head, chaos focusing EVERYTHING, removing all other sensations except the control of his wings and the power he was pouring into this... "Reverse Sequester!" And with a bright flare, he forced everything he had into locking away KOS-MOS's programming, forcing his energy to isolate the part which Burke was attempting to control, while forcing forward the part that the Dark Professor hid so skillfully within the depths of binary code... |

[Colony 049] “I was never an official operative of the Rebellion, Quisty… but I did support them and carry out several operations.” Rinoa stuck out her tongue. Then, however, Peterson spoke. She hesitated for a moment. Perhaps because Quistis had mentioned Sama, or maybe because of the mention of his CO. Rinoa shook her head. “Naïve? Perhaps I am, Mr. Peterson. However, I have connections… very powerful political influences who are willing to back me up. This is something I haven’t told anyone… however, I have the backing of a very powerful and influential corporation. They have enough clout, and are important enough to both the civilian and military economies of the Republic that they can pull strings you never could have.” Rinoa gave him a grin. “You were a highly respected war hero, sir… but I’m afraid politicians only care about war heroes when it makes them look good to voters. However, when it’s money on the line, they tend to be more willing to compromise.” Rinoa shook her head. “I’m not about to start up the violence, but… sir, you must know of the Metarex. You must know that there are many of colonies that supported your cause that fear the Republic has abandoned them, or that the Republican cannot adequately protect them. If that fear turns into panic, it could be a serious disadvantage to the Republic in this war. That is why now is the perfect time… a diplomatic solution can be reached. By applying the correct pressure, there can be independence… not immediately, but we could make agreements to grant independence to the colonies after the Metarex threat has been dealt with.” Rinoa had her plan thought out much more than she let on. “Please, sir… I can make the dreams you once had a reality.” [TRS Crusader: Captain’s Table] Sama shook his head. “I’m not about to rock the boat in the battlefield. I follow orders much more often when in the middle of battle… not all the time, mind you, but most of the time.” [Colony 101] Rica shook his head. “Nonsense little one! You’re my guest, Melanie, and hospitality dictates that I offer you whatever you like. And don’t worry about cooking, you just enjoy your meal.” He looked to Jason and Erin. “Welcome! What can I cook for you?” [Zohar: Burke’s Office] Burke watched Ben transform… and he started to laugh. “Ha… Hahahahah! What an idea! Doctor, I can smell your handiwork in this one! Hahahaha! Yes, you impress me even still, you bastard!” Burke laughed aloud, clapping his hands. “Ben, that’s a very impressive trick… but you will find you are still no match for a real Time Lord, my young friend… but you could be. Clearly, the Doctor has taught you a lot. He’s taught you well… but he’s an idealistic fool. If you truly want to learn the ways of a Time Lord, Ben… why not come with me?” Burke was actually pulling a Vader. The single biggest cliché in the book. Almost. "KOS-MOS, I will help you. I will do whatever I can. I will fall before I let you do so. However... I need you to FIGHT it for me. You hear me? I need you to help me fight off the control. If you fight it, we have a chance." KOS-MOS could hear chaos, although his voice was dim, as if he was very far away, or under water. She felt something stirring inside her, though. She wanted to fight it, she wanted so desperately to fight against whatever Burke was doing to her. Suddenly, it happened. KOS-MOS felt a sensation all through her body, and just like that, Burke’s control was gone. She stood up, and her eyes had changed color. Suddenly she moved her hand and a machinegun appeared in it. She turned and opened fired on Burke’s guards, cutting them all apart. Whatever type of ammunition she had was able to tear the super-strong Power Armor apart as easily as a normal bullet did to a piece of paper. “Mister Burke… I reject your demands. Let us leave. Donald, Goofy, escort Molly and Jordan to the starship so they may prepare our departure.” Jordan was amazed by the power of the android girl. She really was a super-weapon… and yet, she seemed more human now than she had yet! “Molly, are you okay?” Jordan asked, concerned for her. “We have to get out of here!” |

T.R.S. Crusader-captain's table Didymus nodded. "Good thing you added that last part." he said with a chuckle. "So..." he turned, once again, to Asuka and Rei... "So, you two, if you were to requisition mechs from Philanthropy, when would they arrive? And when would you be ready with them? What types, if I may ask? And finally...I mean, I know I asked this before, but...again, how are you two holding up?" They had both had some time to reflect, right? |

Zohar: Burke's Office It... Worked! chaos could almost laugh, had the situation not been so tense and if his breath wasn't completely gone and if he himself wasn't taut as a bowstring about to snap. He gulped in air as he was forced out of KOS-MOS by the success he had with the ability he reversed, and he fell on his butt, stunned by what had just been pulled off. The wings flickered unsteadily, the power surging uncontrollably as chaos lost hold of it... And THEN, he felt the backlash. Apparently, the Sequester was a power he could not abuse this much, for the backlash of energy forced his wings to dissipate into a bunch of golden sparkled, and the power rushed right back into chaos, unaided and uncontrolled, like an electrical surge running through the body of a human. He spasmed and toppled to the side, choking as he was unable to scream due to the lack of air. ... Luckily, that passed over in just an instant. The spasm ended and did apparently no damage whatsoever, just a powerful backlash. The white-haired boy finally gulped some air into himself, breathing as though he just ran a marathon, before unsteadily sitting up and then getting up onto shaky legs. He was ignoring his body's lac of response, however, eyes focused on KOS-MOS. Standing there, regal, blue-eyed, destructive as she tore apart the rest of the guards at the exit from Burke's office. "She... Will NEVER... Be controlled... By you... Burke. She will NEVER... Succumb to you. You know this... You have... No choice, Burke!" |

I can't see what you're imagining

-Colony 101- Kitchen Erin took a seat next to Jason, avoiding Kanna's gaze. “I...whatever you have...” Erin said, “Something simple...” Walter took his seat as well, looking around. He, surprisingly, found himself somewhat surprised he was a bit happy no one was fighting. -Zohar: Burke's Office- “Sorry Burke...I'm one of the good guys...” Ben said, glaring at Burke. He reached up and manipulated the Omnitrix again, finding it surprisingly simple now that he was in this new form. He didn't seem to notice KOS-MOS though, eyeing Burke. “You guys go on without me,” Ben said, “I'll deal with Burke!” Donald and Goofy shared a glance, then turned to Eva and Jordan. “We better get to your ship!” Goofy said, “You guys get to yours, and we'll get to ours!” “Yah, I think I have a plan!” Donald grinned. “Burke...I'm giving you this one chance. Either you come with us willingly, under Plumber control, and I promise...we'll help you. The Doctor would be willing to give you help,” Ben said, holding out his hand. Another lesson learned from The Doctor...Always give them a chance. -Colony 049- Peterson merely stared at Rinoa as she talked, then sighed, not getting up from his seat. “The U.T.R. will refuse to disband any colonies from it's midst. That's a fact. When I was in the special ops, my job was to go to any dissenting organizations, and kill them. I saw with my own eyes what people would try to do for independence...” Peterson sighed, “True...we only handled the more...radical groups...But I heard rumors. No government is free of corruption.” Closing his eyes, Peterson stood up now, breathing in deeply, “I lost to many friends trying it myself...” |

NL Apocalypse Mobius sure looked beautiful from up in space... Without much else to do currently besides pigging out on plates of flan, Ema Skye was looking at the planet they were now in orbit of*, and thinking about some of the stuff that the Doctor and Nova had been talking about... Until one question popped into her mind. "Doctor... You mentioned that the Daleks killed all of the other Time Lords..." she started, somewhat unsure if she wanted to actually ask the rest of her question. "If Time Lords could travel through time, how do you know they are all dead?" There was another portion of that question she could ask, but she was pretty sure she, nor he, would really want to get into how he was the one remaining Time Lord still alive. [size0]((*through monitor or window, I don't know, because I don't know if the ship has windows or not where they are ))

[TRS Crusader: Captain’s Table] Sama decided to return to his meal, rather than take any chances on increasing his ‘sentence’ after dinner. Asuka had finished her meal while Didymus and Sama debated, and was now able to speak freely. “I don’t know when they would arrive, it would depend on where the Celsius is right now… I haven’t called in to Philanthropy in a while.” Asuka shook her head. “Anyway, for now its best if you issue us a couple of spare mechs. We’ll be able to manage. We might have a lack of formal training, but… look at it this way, if we managed to control those THINGS for as long as we did, we can handle these easy.” Asuka’s logic might sound flawed… or it might be genius. She did not comment on how she was feeling, however. It was intentional; she did not want to talk about that at the moment. “… I am better than I was… though I still do not know what I should be feeling.” Rei admitted aloud, a surprising thing for Rei to do. [Zohar: Burke’s Office] Burke watched as KOS-MOS butchered his guards. All of them had been formers soldiers in either the Republic or the Rebellion. All of them were highly skilled, and he had equipped them with the best armor and weapons money could buy – and KOS-MOS eradicated them easily. "She... Will NEVER... Be controlled... By you... Burke. She will NEVER... Succumb to you. You know this... You have... No choice, Burke! Burke frowned. “Perhaps so… chaos… she is a disappointment. Just as you are. It is NOW you manifest the Sequester? Do you really care for that machine this much, chaos? Or do you simply do it to SPITE me?” The Time Lord frowned. He would have to deal with chaos in the harshest way imaginable eventually. “… If she will not be mine, so be it. She cannot, however, be allowed to live, unless it is as my weapon. Run away if you want to, KOS-MOS. I will destroy you eventually.” When Ben stood up to him, Burke just gave a half-hearted grin. The boy… he really did remind him of The Doctor. It was an amazing thing, how the Doctor had managed to find someone like him. “You, help me? Ha… my dear boy, I control a number of businesses on a number of planets. I have politicians, police, military officials, scientists and businessmen all in my pockets, and I, my very young friend, have lived longer and done more than you can possibly imagine.” Burke shook his head. “Forget it… Shifter. You cannot touch me, anyway. I’m… far more than you can imagine.” [Colony 049] Rinoa shook her head. “Ordinarily, yes… but these are special circumstances. The Republic would not have a choice; especially with my corporate backers. Don’t you get it? If we attack them economically, they’ll have no choice but to comply.” She shook her head. “… Please, don’t you see? This might be your last chance to realize your dream.” |

T.R.S. Crusader-captain's table Didymus nodded at Rei. "If you're feeling better...good. Just...I suppose, give it sometime, think about it...ask me or Rachel or someone if you feel so inclined or believe it is the best course of action." he said. However, he was hesitant to authorize Asuka's request. "I can give you some spare mechs in the meantime, I suppose...but you'll need to show me how good you are. If you-and, Miss Ayanami, this goes for you as well-want to fight tomorrow, you'll need to show me you can. I can fire up the simulator when your stomach settles, and you can show me if you're good with the controls of some of the more conventional mechs-their control schemes don't involve nerve system interactions and such, so I would imagine that they are very different from the...Evas..." "If you care to, Sama, why don't you come watch? Or better yet, participate? If indeed the four of us are to work in a single squad, we'll have to practice working together, right?" He was grinning. This could be fun, at least, the simulator runs. However, with Rei and Asuka, and even Sama, going through what they were, he wanted to see how they would fare...with him, it wasn't that big of a deal. People slandered him every so often, so he was more or less familiar with the experience. He found the politics of his job both entertaining and infuriating at times. There was the question of who that girl was, but he was able to put it in the back of his mind when he thought ahead. Colony 049: Peterson's tent Quistis was uneasy. Corporate backers? "Rinoa, are you sure?" she asked. "Remember what happened when the Garden had corporate backers? We...Galbadia. The pitiful reinforcements they sent. It didn't work out so well..." she said. Considering what had happened that night, how traumatic it was, she was...mistrustful of corporate promises. |

Melanie turned to him. "By the way what did you need that was at the market earlier?" She asked, completely unaware of the reason Jason stayed behind. Jason gave a nervous laugh and poored himself a glass of water from a picther sitting on the table. "Nothing important Mel, don't worry about it" Melanie looked confused but didn't linger too long on it, meanwhile Kanna looked as suspicious as ever. "Nothing important?" she asked, taking another sip of her coffee "It must have been important." Jason gave a shrug "No, not really" Kanna didn't look convinced. "You look like an idiot when you lie" She added, dropping the subject with that...For now. |

-Nova's Ship: Bridge- “Because those battles were time locked,” The Doctor answered, “The War...No one can leave them or go back into them. It's to stop from anything there escaping... “As for knowing...I would sense them...” The Doctor continued. Of course...That wasn't always the case. The Master had found a way to trick The Doctor...And so could another Time Lord, of course. -Zohar: Burke's Office- As the others began to leave, The Shifter smiled. “You know...there's a lot of energy in this Omnitrix,” The Shifter/Ben said, “Just think what'll happen if I unleash it...Think you can really take all that energy? Sure...you won't technically die...but you'll regenerate... “And you'll look different,” he continued, “Possibly be different...Regenerating...it's still like dieing.” The Shifter stood carefully, wary, “You really want to risk that? If you come after any of us, and I promise...You will have the full force of the Plumbers after you. The Doctor himself will know exactly who you are.” Was it a bluff? A hopeless chance to try and stop Burke? Or did he really have a plan? -Colony 049: Peterson's Tent- “And what is it you want from me?” Peterson wondered, “I've disappointed to many people in my past. My old teacher...my friends...my soldiers...I don't see how I could help anymore.” -Colony 101- “I wanted to talk to him,” Walter spoke up, “About Erin.” He took a sip of water idly, “And we both figured it was best to do that where no one here would see.” It wasn't all a lie...They HAD talked about Erin a little bit. |

((UGH! Sorry this post took so long. My internet went out of me for a bit. >_>)) [Zohar: Burke’s Office] “You think this is my first form, boy?” Burke sneered. “I’m the ACTUAL Time Lord, here, don’t forget that!” Burke paused. Ben had great power in that Omnitrix, and Burke was at a disadvantage because he did not know the extent of it. Still, Burke had a plan anyway. His force-field was strong, and even if it broke and Ben destroyed his current form… well, Burke would simply come back. Still, the situation did not favor Burke at the moment. “I do not fear the Plumbers, boy, nor do I fear the Doctor.” Burke told him flat-out. Jordan, meanwhile, shot at a couple of other Soldiers in the hallway. He looked to Molly. “Molly, we need to get the Arrow ready for take off – now! I can get you there, but we have to be ready to go FAST!” He fired a few more shots. Protecting Molly and the others was his only focus right now. [Colony 049: Peterson’s Tent] Rinoa frowned, looking at the sadness in Peterson’s eyes. “Sir… I cannot possibly understand what it feels like to have been through everything that you went through, but I DO share your passion! At least, the passion you used to have. Independence IS possible, sir!” She hesitated. She was not supposed to say too much, but Peterson… she felt she needed his help. “… You’re aware of the Shinra Starship Corporation, correct sir? They are the largest Starship Corporation in the Republic. They have a lot of clout with the Republic – they manufacture many of the Starships used by the Republic’s military, as well as many of the mechs.” Rinoa took a deep breath. “The Shinra Corporation is willing to back my political plans, sir. Rufus Shinra has massive pull with the politicians and the military brass! He has the clout to make independence happen… if Shinra threatened to even cut back on the production of Starships or Mechs, the Republic would be in trouble. OBVIOUSLY, we can’t actually carry through on that threat now, because of the Metarex… but the threat itself would be enough to force the Republic’s hand.” She looked at Peterson and sighed. “PLEASE sir… I need you to come with me to talk to the Republic leaders.” [Colony 101: Rica’s Kitchen] Rica just listened for a few minutes while Kanna and Jason spoke. It really was none of his business. He finished frying up the beef, and served it to Jason and Melanie. “Eat up, and enjoy it!” Rica gave a grin to them both. [TRS Crusader: Captain’s Table] Sama shook his head. “Ah, I’d like to… it would be a lot of fun to get in the simulator, but I need to try to contact Philanthropy again.” Asuka raised an eyebrow. “What do you mean TRY?” Sama sweat dropped. “Ah, don’t worry about it… I’ll put the request in for new mechs, while I’m at it.” Asuka seemed suspicious, but luckily she was more worried about what Didymus had decided. She crossed her arms and sighed a bit. “I’ll admit the EVAs work different than conventional mechs, in terms of synching up with the pilot; but the basic control systems are still the same. The movement and weaponry systems are the same as most mech systems… the EVA was just supposed to have a better reaction time, and give a better ‘feel’ of control than conventional mechs.” She hesitated, thinking about the machines. After what had happened, Asuka was wondering how she could have ever piloted such a thing… “I’ll get in the simulator if you require it, but I promise you I can handle this.” Asuka told him. |

Colony 101: Rica’s Kitchen Kanna raised a brow at Jason who in turn threw a glare in Walter's direction. Sure it was a good excuse but he totally could have picked something a bit less embarrassing...Heaven knew what was running through Kanna's head. The woman glared at Erin for a moment and looked down at her meal, taking a bite. "Oh! Thank you!" Melanie said with a smile as Rica placed a plate of food in front of her. The girl wasn't used to people cooking for her, neither her mother nor her brother knew how to cook, leaving most of the meal preperation to the girl. She loved it, but every once in awhile it was nice to have a meal not prepared by her. "We'll be leaving in the morning" Kanna declared a few minutes into the meal. Both Melanie and Jason look up from their food. "What? Why?" Jason asked. "Because I said so" Kanna replied, eyes on her food. "We need get back home, and figure out...Things" Melanie looked saddened. "But we just got here and met everyone...And what about Walter, Erin,.....And Gal-" "I don't care what they decide. We're leaving in the morning." "But momma-" "No buts." Melanie sighed dejectedly, and Kanna continued eating. She was glad to be leaving...This place was...Complicated to put it nicely. Zohar: Burke’s Office “Molly, we need to get the Arrow ready for take off – now! I can get you there, but we have to be ready to go FAST!” Eva stumbled forward, trying to keep herself from being shot. She ran as fast as she could nodding at Jordan as she passed him. "Sure thing!" ....They were running from gunfire back to the Arrow....Hadn't she predicted something like this? No time to hate fate though!! |

T.R.S. Crusader-captain's table Didymus paused, wondering if he should inform Asuka of what Sama had not. Deciding against it (at least for now), he shook his head. "Perhaps, Miss Soryu, but I WOULD like you to try your hands in the simulator first. And Miss Ayanami, do you have any questions or concerns on this matter? I'd like you to get in the simulator as soon as your food settles, as well. I'd like to see if you're ready." "Sir?" Misato spoke up. "May I observe." "Of course." Didymus replied. "And Sama, will placing a call, whatever its outcome, really take too long? Or are you going to get in a fight with your communicator which will last several hours? Don't forget...you're still helping clean up afterwards..." He had finished with his meal. "In the meantime, Miss Soryu, Miss Ayanami, I shall head over to the simulator and try to select a proper scenario. You may begin whenever you like, but if you intend to wait for me, it shall have to be a bit...again, I'd prefer my stomach had some time to settle. I suggest you do the same." He rose. "Either way, I shall see you in a bit, I'd think. Sama, don't forget..." he gestured at his plate. "The mess staff should be along to start cleaning up shortly." Misato, also done, got up. Both took their plates over, and exited the mess hall. T.R.S. Crusader-simulator room Didymus entered, and punched up a scenario he thought would be fitting to test Asuka and Rei in, and then, on another display, punched up a replay of one of he and Sama's runs. Ah, memories. (Chance for "private discussion", otherwise we can do a mini-fast-forward or something for this scene. :D) Colony 049-Peterson's tent Quistis's eyes widened at Rinoa's statements. "You're insane." she said, not necessarily because she thought that as much as she wanted to get Rinoa's attention. "You're talking about putting pressure on the military-industrial complex in a time when its cooperation with the government is vital? And you think they'll back down? It wouldn't be the first time you've underestimated Republic resolve..." she said. "Listen, even IF Shinra corporation was not just using you as a pawn in its own game, if it REVEALS this kind of intent, that's TREASON. Which means that the Republic can legally freeze or seize its holdings and industries for the duration of the crisis, to be dealt with once the crisis is over and the treasonous elements dealt with. If Shinra cooperates, then they don't work with you, and your plan falls apart. If they don't, the Republic moves in and shuts them down by force, which, if they resist, leads to bloodshed and the possible crippling of a war industry. Which is bad right now. Not that Shinra can't resist, necessarily, and obviously, the Republic will be reluctant to move in at best if it comes to that, they'll probably try talking first...but think about what you're saying...listen, Rinoa, I do think you have a noble end in mind...but think for a moment. This...doesn't seem like a good idea...not now, at least..." she said. |
