-Colony 101- Woods Ethan simply walked by Kanna, his hands on the back of his head. He glanced to the woman now and then to make sure she wasn't stumbling, but matched her pace. Inside Erin was still holed up in her room, silent. -T.R.S. Crusader: Captain's Table- Silver ate his food silently. He didn't want to make another scene. (Vidit, maybe you should have these NERV children mentioned...<.<) -U.T.R. Colony 049- “There was genuine want of independence among the Rebellion,” Erek King spoke up, “In fact, in many of the colonies that rebelled, there's still that sense of wanting independence. There's a small group here, in fact, that feels that if the Fornax Rebellion had been successful, then they would have not had this trouble with the Yeerks.” He gave a shrug, “Personally, I find it interesting any species fights another, especially themselves. It's very counter productive. I suppose that's why my kind were programmed to not fight.” |

T.R.S. Crusader: Captain's Table (What? I'm sorry, I'm not certain what you mean...if you're referring to the Narrohs and the company, why?) Didymus, as he contineued to eat, also looked over towards Cosmo. "How is our guest holding up?" he asked. "I hope that the battle wasn't too trying for you, and I apologize, but I'm afraid that you're going to have to go through more of them...at least, this ship is. But like I said, we beat them, didn't we? Perhaps a sign that they can be stopped." he said. U.T.R. Colony 049 "The rebellion was confined to a small sector of Republic space. One of the reasons that the loyalists were so insistent on crushing it was that they feared that it would be the start of a domino effect, not that an independent state that could actually challenge the Republic would arise...but I find it difficult to believe that these people would have had an easier time with the yeerks if they were not part of the Republic...as much as I hate to say it...and wait-your kind? What?" she asked. |

[TRS Crusader: Captain’s Table] Sama looked over to Rachel and shook his head slowly. “I don’t know if I’m alright, Rachel, to be perfectly honest. I had to face some memories I don’t enjoy reliving.” He paused, took a few bites, and then listened to the conversation some more. When Didymus mentioned something, though, he decided to speak up. “Of course they can be stopped.” Sama chimed in between bites. “Anyone can be stopped. Doesn’t matter how big and bad those things seem, there’s a way to beat them…” He paused. “Although… I’m not sure we’re going about it the right way. So far we’ve been playing defense. The Metarex attack the Forum, we fight them. They attack the Fringe Colonies, we fight them… You don’t win wars by playing defense. Perhaps if you can hold out until the enemy is out of supplies, troops and the will to fight… but considering we don’t know the extent of the Metarex in those fields, playing defense is a hopeless cause.” He shook his head. “If we’re going to beat those things, we really need to come up with a plan to hit them back on OUR terms. Chasing them away from Republic planets is all well and good, but unless we stem the flow of their attacks, eventually it’s US who will run low on moral and soldiers.” Sama paused. “What we really should do is find their leaders and crush ‘em. Cut off the head and the serpent dies, or however that old saying goes…” [UTR Colony 049] “The MILITARY rebellion was confined to a small sector, you mean, Quisty!” Rinoa quickly piped in. “The conditions that made people want to rebel, and the idea of independence is hardly limited to the ones who actually did it. Not every planet that liked the idea of being independent had the means or the bravery to rebel.” She shook her head. “I STILL believe in the cause of independence, Quisty, and that won’t ever change. Obviously we couldn’t make that cause happen through a war… that’s where Peterson and the others were wrong. However, I believe independence CAN be a reality.” [Colony 101] Inside The kitchen was soon full of the smells of herbs, spices and various foodstuffs cooking, baking and sizzling. Rica, as it happened, was an excellent chef. Felix, meanwhile, looked to Aiden and shook his head a bit. “Life’s been pretty crazy lately… Rica and I came to this colony about six months ago. We sometimes take jobs for hire… mercenary stuff… well, the man who used to own this house hired us to do some things. Only… we found out that the man who hired us was a pretty bad guy around here. He was involved with some very bad people, so Rica… took care of him.” Felix rubbed his neck. “Since then, we’ve been living here… it was pretty quiet until the other day…” [Zohar] Jordan looked to Molly, and then back to Ben. He gave a sigh and shook his head. “I think it’s a great idea, Ben… but I know better than to try to make Eva Wei sit in the spaceship and wait while everyone else does something dangerous.” The young gunner shrugged. “We might as well meet with Burke… but I have a bad feeling about this…” When the group was ready, the elevator to take them up had arrived. Burke’s suite was on the top floor, and the mysterious Mister Burke was eagerly waiting for them all… |

T.R.S. Crusader-captain's table Didymus nodded. "I understand your points, Sama, and you make good ones. However, right now, as you have acknowledged, these are threats and attacks we cannot afford to ignore. These things just appeared out of unexplored space and are trying a...blitzkrieg, I believe the term was, whereas they're hitting us as hard as they can, as quickly as they can, albeit not in a concentrated manner." He sighed. "The fact is, we're still trying to figure out exactly what they are. That's what part of these battles are. Intel ops. EarthCom and TerrInt are analyzing the results and trying to come up with a plan, and more through ideas of what our new enemies are. That, to some extent, is why our guest-" he gestured at Cosmo-"-is here. Her first hand encounters with them may make her a source of valuable information. We don't know how they operate, what their command structure is like, etc." "Speaking of which," he said, quickly, "Cosmo, if you ever have anything to say, speak up, please." He turned back to Sama. "Finally, as you know, we can't ignore these attacks. They invade us, we need to repel them. Part of winning wars involves countering the enemy advances, even if that's not all of it. Besides they...they're performing genocide. That means that we can't ignore them, no matter where they rear their heads. Perhaps that's one of the disadvantages, if you want to call it that, of trying to do what's right here-they produce genocide. We have to stop it. That means meeting them in battle wherever they attack." "At least, that's the plan for now. We'll go on the offensive, when a plan is formed and a more through understanding of our enemies is upon us. In the meantime, we need to stop their advances." He grinned. "And I can name at least something that doesn't die when the head is chopped off." he said, although he thought it may be unwise to refer to the Evas directly... Colony 049 Quistis sighed. "Well, that would be impressive, if you could pull that off..." she said. "But before you say that's where "the others" were wrong, remember that we were a part of those military rebellions, too..." she said. |

[TRS Crusader: Captain Table] Sama frowned. Didymus, it seemed, had misunderstood him. “I never said we shouldn’t repel them. I never said that at all, and I never would! My only point is that we won’t ever end this war if we don’t make an offensive move.” He shook his head. “I realize the fleet is stretched somewhat thin, as we have a lot of places we have to protect… but we should be sending exploratory teams out there. We should pursue their forces when they retreat… I realize that’s dangerous to do, because we’d be going into unexplored space, but if we can find where they’re coming from, we can make sure they never have the chance to commit genocide again. Otherwise, our only course of action is sit and wait for them to kill again.” Sama sighed. He knew it was a bad situation, and what he was suggesting was… well, as close to impossible as it could be. The Republic could not spare ships to go and explore uncharted space to look for the enemy’s ‘base’, and pursuing their retreating forces could result in Republic ships ending up overwhelmed. Still, he also knew that many people had been killed by the Metarex already, and that the number would continue to rise until they had some way of stopping them for good. [Colony 049] “I haven’t forgotten anything, Quisty.” Rinoa shook her head. “That’s why I’m trying to find some way to accomplish independence without resulting to another war…” |

TRS Crusader: Captain Table "Indeed...and I never said we shouldn't counter them. And perhaps we are sending exploratory missions-or at least we will. I don't know all of our ops. Right now, though, we just need to stem the tide of these attacks. Again, perhaps our guest knows enough about the space from which our enemies come to be a sort of guide-in which case, Sama, you may get your wish-we may be the first ones sent in on the counterattack." He chuckled. "You're right, we can't just keep playing defense. I don't think we have any intention of doing so. We just need to rally, to wake, to gather more intel, and to stem the tide of these initial advances first. Again, we don't even know if they have a "base" or if they're just nomadic marauders. We don't really know that much...again, patience, Sama. We're doing what we can now, trying to make sure our territory is secure, and trying to repel the enemy's attacks. Chances are, if we can secure a front line, we will push forward." He sighed. "So your concerns are legit, Sama, but be patient. We'll be charging forward into the howling dark before you know it." He grinned at that. Colony 049 Quistis nodded. "Just...not now." she said. "...not when we're besieged like this. Again, as much as I hate to say it, humanity can't afford the Republic being fragmented right now...keep that in mind, please?" she said. |

Colony 101 Woods The two made their way back to the house, Kanna frowning deeply upon noticing Melanie and Galv, still asleep. She hesitated but walked up the stairs, into the house. As soon as she came into the home a nice smell hit her nose. The woman looked into the kitchen as they passed it, noticing Rica busy cooking. Meanwhile Jason was heading up the stairs, heading to Erin's room. He hesitated at her door like before...But knocked. [Zohar] There was NO way Eva was staying behind so like the others she followed into the elevator ready to meet Burke.... |

[Zohar] The elevator came to a stop with a ding, and the soldiers ‘escorted’ the group towards a large pair of double doors. On either side of the door were heavily armed troops. As they were led inside, they found a gigantic room full of expensive artifacts from across the galaxy. In the middle of the room was a table, and at it sat a man. He seemed to be only in his thirties, wearing a white pinstripe suit and a matching hat. He had a pair of tortoiseshell glasses and a black tie. “Ah, welcome to Zohar. My, my, my, what a mismatched bunch of travelers you all are.” Mister Burke stood up and welcomed them in a friendly manner. His face first turned to Molly and Jordan. “Let’s see… Who do we have here? Ah, it’s Eva Wei, famous Star Racer in the employ of Don Wei Racing, and her Gunner, Jordan Wilde. I saw a few of your races on Alwas and Oban. You have exceptional skills, young lady.” His eyes turned then to Ben, Donald and Goofy. “And here we have representatives of The Plumbers. Ah, what a fascinating organization you belong to… tell me, Ben, how IS The Doctor, these days? I haven’t seen him in four of five regenerations.” Burke gave a wicked grin at mention of The Doctor, but then that grin grew as he looked to KOS-MOS and chaos. “… Ah… but of course, the two of you I’ve met before.” Burke said quietly. KOS-MOS looked to him. “… You are my creator?” Burke nodded. “I am, my dear, I am. Is that what this is all about? You’ve come all this way, what? Looking for some answers as to why you exist? As to what exactly you ARE? Ha ha… how quaint.” Burke leaned back in his chair, and then nodded. “… Over the years I have conducted a number of experiments, all for the sole purpose of expanding my knowledge. At one time, I worked for the United Terran Republic, as the chief scientist on Project Ghost. Our aim was to create a psychic soldier program. We succeeded in a young woman named Sarah.” His voice cracked when he said the name, but Burke continued. “Sarah… she was marvelous… Intelligent, beautiful and so very independent… Even in my very long life, I had not known love before Sarah. However, she did not share my feelings. Her heart belonged to a man named James… Eventually, Sarah, James and a Protoss called Tassadar led the fight against the Zerg, and destroyed their leader; The Overmind. Sarah died in the process.” Burke frowned. “… I originally tried to bring Sarah back from the dead… the result, unfortunately, was you, KOS-MOS. Not what I had wanted at all. I tried once more, after you… using a organization called NERV. They failed as well… though, I finally understand the reason… I finally see why I failed…” Burke shrugged. “That, however, does not matter. I’ve told you what you wanted to know. You, KOS-MOS, are a failed experiment that I modified into a weapon… but I am glad you returned. You still have a use, after all…” He stood up and straightened his tie. “The rest of you, on the other hand… are useless to me. You can leave, now. KOS-MOS, you will stay.” KOS-MOS hesitated. She did not like this man, Burke. Was his story true? Was she simply a failed experiment? Was that the grand secret of her existence? [Colony 101] Mansion Rica noticed Kanna return, and he nodded to her. “Miss Kanna, the food is almost ready if you’d like to take a seat. I’d be happy to serve it to you… or I can simply leave you alone, if you prefer.” [TRS Crusader: Captain’s Table] Sama nodded, but he was still bothered by something. “There’s just one big problem with that plan… you said we need to stem the flow of attacks, and I agree… but since we don’t have enough intel on the enemy, how can we be sure these are the worst attacks they’ve got?” Sama shook his head. “What if what’s already happened is just the first wave of the Metarex attacking? With no intel on where they’re from or what resources they have, it’s possible that they have an even larger scale assault planned. If they have the means to, they could attack us hard and overwhelm our defenses. We have to attack as soon as we can, even if conditions aren’t perfect… I don’t see it as a matter of patience, Didymus, I’m worried that if we don’t move soon, we won’t ever get a chance.” Perhaps he was still in a grim mood from what Quistis had said, but Sama worried that the real danger was just around the corner. [Colony 049] “I think you’re wrong, Quisty. We HAVE to do something now precisely because of the crisis.” Rinoa explained. “The Republic can’t protect all of it’s colonies… especially the outlying ones. They’re the ones most susceptible to attack from the Metarex, and they’re also the ones most dissatisfied with how things are. If they think the Republic can’t protect them, they might just start up the Rebellion again on their own… and it wouldn’t be diplomacy like I want, it would be war! If that happened while the Metarex is attacking… humanity would be something for the history books, instead of the news papers.” Rinoa shook her head. “That’s why we have to find a diplomatic solution NOW. If we can work something out with the Republic, then these little colonies might be able to contribute more in the fight against the Metarex!” |

T.R.S. Crusader: Captain’s Table Didymus sighed again. "In short, we DON'T know if this is the worst they've got. You should know by now: uncertainty abounds in war. But how many times must I tell you: this is not the extent of our strategy. Right now, we're mustering, and trying to keep things under control on terra firma, so to speak, before we venture into the unknown. What if we charged into the unknown ASAP, without gathering intel AND without making sure our own base was secure? And they were ready? Or they struck and destroyed what we're fighting to protect while picking us apart in territory we aren't familiar with? Have you considered that?" He shook his head. "Do you think you know all about what's going on? EarthCom's got more info then either of us now. We have our orders, and are partaking in grand strategy determined by some of the finest military minds in the galaxy. We don't know EVERYTHING that's going on, but to ignore their attacks just so we can go "on the offensive", when we don't even know exactly WHERE we'd have to go to do that, would be foolish. We're establishing a stable front line, from which we can strike. They hit our border, we drove them back, and several fleets are remaining to protect our territory. Now, they're further away from us, hitting alien powers. We secure those regions, then, we can push into the regions THEY came from, and they will be far and away removed from our territory, and we'll be on offense. Again, I think you're being hasty, and, if I may say so, paranoid. And if you're saying we should just attack in the general direction the enemy's come from without any recon or any such things first, you're being reckless. Scouting and scans from our forces and those of our allies may be going on as we speak...again, I don't know all the details. What I DO know, however, is that we cannot ignore these attacks...besides, even if we are on defense, this is still engaging and neutralizing the enemy, and when it boils down to it, that's very much what wars are about." He sighed again. "So relax. There's a difference between being bold and being reckless. A reckless attack would be a waste of men and materials." He himself was losing patience with this argument-although he tried to conceal that fact. How many times had his own strategies been criticized in the war against the mobians, anyway? Colony 049 Quistis blinked. Rinoa's devotion to her cause was doubtless, but Quistis was not quite as radical as she was. "Are you sure?" she asked. "Have you considered that the centralized pooling of the military resources, shared objectives, and COMPARITIVE lack of political infighting may acutally be a BENEFIT when the entirety of our species is threated? Make no mistake, I wouldn't mind some split offs, or at least some changes in the Republic's government-maybe a federation instead (yes, there's a difference, at least, there can be)-but to fracture us NOW?" She didn't know if it was a good thing she was here, or not. |

-Colony 101- Upstairs As Jason knocked on the door, a voice returned to him. “Who is it?” Erin's voice whimpered. Downstairs Ethan had entered at the same time as Kanna. He remained quiet though, entering the house. Walter was in the living room. “Well, quiet can be good too,” Aiden smiled, “And ohhh...dinner smells good!” -Zohar: Burke's Office- “The rest of you, on the other hand… are useless to me. You can leave, now. KOS-MOS, you will stay.” “Not gonna happen,” Ben said. His Omnitrix activated, and he slammed his hand down on it, a flash of green light appearing. “SWAMPFIRE!” Ben declared, transforming into the plant creature. “KOS-MOS gets to decide where she wants to go,” Ben/Swampfire said, “KOS-MOS...You can decide what you want to do.” Ben was ready to fight, if needed... -T.R.S. Crusdar: Captain's Table- Silver opened his mouth to talk, then paused, closing it. No one, outside of Sonic and The Doctor, seemed to believe his story, so he figured saying anything wouldn't be worth it. -Colony 049- “...I apologize. I have kept my hologram up...” Erek said to Quistis. His body shimmered, and for a moment, it revealed his android form, but then returned to looking completely human. The android form looked almost...canine like. “I am a Chee. Part of a race of androids created by a now dead race,” Erek said, then merely listened as Quistis and Rinoa discussed things as they headed the U.T.R. military headquarters that was dealing with the Yeerks. Erek talked to the soldiers, and soon they had entered it. Peterson was in one of the tents set up, alone for the moment... |

Something seemed off about him, but perhaps it was just because of all the secrecy surrounding him and KOS-MOS. “The rest of you, on the other hand… are useless to me. You can leave, now. KOS-MOS, you will stay.” Eva frowned and opened her mouth to speak, but didn't have to. With a slap of his watch Ben transformed into....Well, she wasn't sure what he was. Colony 101 Upstairs “Who is it?” "Uhh...Jason" He answered carefully, Erin sounded upset on the other side. No doubt thanks to his good for nothing mother. "Can we talk?" Downstairs “Miss Kanna, the food is almost ready if you’d like to take a seat. I’d be happy to serve it to you… or I can simply leave you alone, if you prefer.” Kanna, too exhausted to care anymore, took a seat at the table, running her finger around the rim of a stray wine glass. She really didn't need anything else to drink...And yet there was another bottle of wine not to far away. "Maybe I should wake up Melanie...." |

-Colony 101- Upstairs A pause, and the door opened, Erin standing there, looking miserable, her hair a mess. “...Yes?” she wondered. It was obvious that she had been crying again. Downstairs “I'll get them,” Walter said simply, walking outside. Suddenly, on the porch, Galv and Melanie would both be hit by cold water. Galv would shoot awake, blinking. Thankfully it wasn't nearly enough water to drench the two. “Good...you're awake. Dinner is ready,” Walter said, and headed back inside. Galv blinked. That was...odd... |

Colony 101 Upstairs Jason backed up as the door opened, but only a half of a step. He offered the obviously upset girl a smile. "I wanted to make sure you were okay...I hope you didn't take anything Kanna said to heart...Heck i'm her kid and I can't even take anything she says to heart" he tried to laugh, but it slowly died, Erin still seemed upset. Downstairs Melanie's eyes snapped open with a squeak, her face now wet. She wiped her cheeks and shivered. “Good...you're awake. Dinner is ready,” "Dinner?" She stood, drying her face with her shirt. "I wonder if Jason has got back yet?" |

[TRS Crusader: Captain’s Table] Sama narrowed his eyes. Now HE was losing patience. “I NEVER said to ignore their attacks! In fact, I SPECIFICALLY said the exact opposite! You’re taking everything I said out of context.” Sama shook his head. “I’m not saying we should go charging in guns-a-blazing… what I’m saying is we need an intel gathering mission. The next time we drive them away from one of our colonies, we need to send a small ship to follow them and find out where they go. That’s the best way to discover the intelligence we need AND keep our colonies safe. I don’t think it’s reckless OR paranoid.” [Colony 049] “I’ve considered that, Quisty. I’ve also considered what I said before… if the colonies are afraid the Republic is unwilling or unable to protect them from the Metarex, then do you really think they will be in a sharing mood? Like I said, they could split away and weaken the Republic even worse. A diplomatic solution is the only way to keep them all safe, and to work united against the Metarex.” Rinoa looked to Erek. “Thank you for your help.” She moved towards the tent. “… Mr. Peterson? May I talk to you?” [Colony 101] Rica gave a grin as he walked over to Kanna, setting a plate down in front of her. “… Do you need more wine?” He offered, and then paused. “Or maybe it’s time you switch to coffee?” [Zohar: Burke’s Office] Burke looked to Ben as he transformed and gave a small grin. “An impressive piece of technology, to be sure… but my entire security force is made up of ex-military, and they’re outfitted with the latest in weaponry and armor. Do you think you can win that fight?” He then stood up and pulled a Staser Pistol out from beneath his jacket. “And besides, do you think you honestly believe you can defeat a Time Lord all by yourself?” Burke asked. |

Mad Scientist / Head of Intel Division
|
Zohar: Burke's Office chaos followed the group like a silent shadow, never saying a word and just simply looking around, memorizing paths, following the motions of the power armor, even analyzing the energy patterns that kept jumping all over the place from those suits. They were good, yes, but all of them were based on kinetic augmentation through hydraulics and electrical currents. He could, in a time of risk, do something about it. But they were still Power Armored soldiers. They were dangerous, much more dangerous than even just human beings with guns. So he decided to wait it out and follow them, see where the road decided to lead. And they were all taken DIRECTLY to Burke's office. THAT, chaos did not expect. He thought they would be separated, KOS-MOS taken to Burke while the rest of them would be spending some rather familiar time with some of the more remote, cannibalistic species of aliens that Burke usually kept on hand for amusement and doghunts. He remembered those beasts well, having overtaken them the last time he escaped from Zohar, and he did not want to meet them again, but he expected to be run down by them again... Not be taken to The Man himself. But as Burke spoke, chaos immediately remembered why he said no when the man asked him if he would use his abilities to kill people. He remembered this man, the man who did everything he could, physical and psychological torture included, to try and get him to manifest his abilities offensively. It never worked, however, and chaos was labeled a failure, but the boy had gained enough of an independence to run for it... And here was the man. The torturer. The cruel, devious son of a snake who had built KOS-MOS to try and bring back his long-lost love. But... Burke didn't know something. Back when chaos was here... Something happened... And this was time to use that knowledge as a weapon. So he stepped forward, put a hand on KOS-MOS's shoulder and calmly spoke, a small smile on his face, looking rather harmless. "Actually, Mr. Burke, you're wrong on both accounts. I hate to interrupt this conversation, but I just HAD to say something before you got any further annoyed with each other. See... KOS-MOS is NOT just a weapon. She was built by your command by The Dark Professor, the genius of robotics at the time, and he did things that should have been impossible. You would never know of them, of course, The Dark Professor knew you too well to reveal everything he did. She is FAR from being just a weapon for your use. "And you are also wrong about one more thing. She WILL leave here if she wishes when she wishes. I say this not out of foolish pride or some strange of honor... You, Burke, judt don't have the power to stop her." |
![]() Now becomes the the past in an instant — and everyone will eventually die! Destiny triumphs over human knowledge and goes mad! That is the way of things! I spit upon this frail, crazed, world! I spit upon the Second Law of Thermodynamics! ~ Desty Nova, Karmatron Theory Let them Label me! Let them swear and curse at me as I tug humanity like a bucking bull into the darkness of the unknown, revealing its secrets to the sane and driving them MAD! In ages long past, I shall be looked upon as a tyrant and a savior! As a savant and as a fool! My work shall advance humanity long past its time, throw it into the unknown future and force it to grow strong or FALL! Years from now, when I will inevitably be removed, my work shall continue to progress, because these things cannot be denied! Governments will publicly criticize my work, but privately conduct research that advances it! I shall imprint myself into the annals of history, among the stars that shine as brightly as Albert Einstein, Isaac Newton, Benjamin Franklin, Dmitri Mendeleev, Nikola Tesla, and countless others! My work will shine as brightly as any star, and I AM ITS CREATOR!!! ~ Desty Nova, Morality
