Protoss Templar Tower chaos looked KOS-MOS right in the eye and stepped forward once, twice, thrice, never breaking eye contact as he closed in, stopping only a few feet away. However, as KOS-MOS asked her question, it looked as though his eyes lit up, and a smile formed, growing ever wider. "So you DO remember, at least partially. Well met, KOS-MOS, and... I should say "welcome back" as well. You are correct, we have met before, but only once. But that once was enough, I believe, especially due to what happened during... My awakening. I am glad to see you unharmed, even after your long disappearance and apparent residence amongst the Protoss as an anti-Zerg weapon. I have searched for quite a long time... Though my search has only recently been in this particular sector. I will have to thank the Professor when I see him again." He looked over the group again, and then, in a MUCH more social manner all of a sudden, stuck his hand out to Eva Wei. "Well met, though whether a meeting during such a troubling time for the Protoss is good is questionable. I am glad that you have escaped unscathed, however. That one, the psychic mind that entered, was a dark one, a mind full of strife and ambition. For a moment, I feared for your safety, and I am glad that you have managed to escape that tense situation unharmed." |

-Colony 101: Market- “I can walk as well,” Ethan commented, “I don't need the car.” Walter seemed to have vanished as well. Erin nodded meekly to Jason as she was placed in the car, watching as Jason pulled Galv off to the side. “Alright then...” Galv said to Jason, “I'll watch over them. Don't worry.” Erin now glanced to Melanie, wringing her shirt, “No...not...hurt...not...physically...” -Protoss Templar Colony- “But...you were dead!” Ben shouted, the current mission gone, “And...you look different...” The Doctor grinned, “Ahhhh...I regenerated. Didn't I tell you about that?” Ben paused, thinking, then nodded his head, “Yah...you did...That means...you...?” “That's right!” The Doctor said, “Like the new form? Look a bit younger now. Still not ginger though.” The Time Lord paused, then glanced to Eva, Jordan, and KOS-MOS. “Hmmm...seems that you have a mission to go on, huh? Well then, better get to it! You are a Plumber after all.” “But...what about...you know, everything?” Ben wondered, “The T.A.R.D.I.S., can't we just-” “Sorry Ben. Right now, I'm on my own...mission, of sorts. Besides, it's about time you started taking care of things yourself,” The Doctor answered. Once more, he paused, then turned to chaos. “The Professor?...That's it!” The Doctor yelled, turning to chaos. He looked at the being, peering in closely, inspecting him. He rifled through his pockets, producing what looked like normal 3-D glasses, with the red and blue colors, then placed it over his eyes, looking at chaos more closely. “Nova! How is the fellow?” The Doctor inquired, “What, last time I saw him, I was...what, 8th, 9th regeneration? Know he hasn't seen this form yet, I just got it.” “Nova, who's-” “Ben, you have a mission to go on. Don't worry, we'll meet again,” The Doctor answered, “Good luck!” Ben paused, then nodded, turning back to Eva, Jordan, and KOS-MOS. “We better get going,” Ben said to the three, “And Doctor, be careful. They're not to fond of outsiders here.” “Oh, I've been here before, don't worry,” The Doctor said. Ben nodded once more, and headed for The Arrow. “That's The Doctor...I guess he has a lot more tricks up his sleeve then I thought,” Ben told the three, “He taught me a lot.” -Republic Fringe Colony: City Center- “Understood,” Jenny said to Didymus, “I hope we get to work together in the future.” With that, she headed off for now. |

Protoss Colony chaos couldn't help but let out a laugh. Here was the man Professor Nova told him about, and he did not recognize him for what he was. The boy almost berated himself at his lack of observation, but his mind turned elsewhere, examining the man in front of him. The Last of the Time Lords. The Doctor. Legends flew around him as thickly as bees around honey. This man that he was seeing was apparently everywhere in history, forging a path and fixing timelines since centuries past, always in the most important place in the world at just the right time to try and fix it. This was whom Desty Nova took example from, and this was the man who gave Nova the burst of inventiveness he needed to perfect his out-of-materium travel. "The Professor is fine and alive, Doctor. He is searching for you as of this moment, and I find myself lucky to have met you here of all places. My apologies, I did not recognize you at first, but The Doctor has described your previous incarnation, not your current one. It is a pleasure to meet you. I hope The Professor will be here soon, he has been looking for you for quite some time. He is on a mission, you see, and one of relative importance." While he spoke, chaos was subjected to scrutiny from the now-bespectacled Doctor. In those glasses, chaos appeared as a maelstrom of kinetic energy that seemed to be circulating through his body like a secondary bloodstream. Normally, traces of kinetic energy were low in a human body, but chaos was SATURATED with motion energy, constantly moving within him but never actually causing any harm. However, the energy seemed closed off, and that's where the other abnormality surfaced. The boy was not influenced by the surrounding area whatsoever. His body held its own optimum temperature, but even with the cold of the Protoss Colony around them, his skin was not affected by the lack of heat at all. Any energy wave, be it the kinetic motion of sound or even light seemed to impact the boy's skin and just STOP before simply vanishing, something that should not be possible. And the biggest difference was the faint outline of a pair of wings that outlined themselves behind him, an area where light was passing through these outlines and came out much dimmer. Then the boy turned to Ben and looked him over once again before stepping up. "You are going to Zohar, are you not? I would like to join you. In fact, now that I have found who I have been looking for, I would rather stay close. Would it be possible for me to come along? I assure you that you will not regret having me as an aide." |

-Protoss Templar Colony- “Nova should know better then that,” The Doctor smirked, “But then again, many other ways to find out who I am...” After inspecting chaos with the glasses, he took them off and placed them away. “Just as I thought...” As chaos turned to Ben, the teenager paused, looking at him. “Yah, we are...And sounds good to me! Any friend of The Doctor is a friend of mine!” Ben grinned, “What do you three say?” He glanced to the others, making sure they were okay with it. After all, it was Eva and Jordan's ship. -NERV Installation: Ten Years Ago- A young girl with brown hair hummed happily to herself, looking intently at a piece of paper, scribbling on it with a crayon. “No...” she finally said, crumpling it up. There was a person working behind her, in a bio hazard suit. “No, that doesn't look right.” “How is she...taking it?” The young girl ignored the voices talking behind her. “...Remarkably well. I wouldn't have thought that this was possible.” “Better then we could have hoped for.” “How many?” The young girl had grabbed a new piece of paper, drawing once more, humming to herself again. “All of them. All ten.” “And she seems so calm.” “She's insane. She's a weapon. The other three haven't done this yet.” “True...But Three and Four are still young. One is smarter then we thought though. He's crafty.” “Yes...he didn't kill a soul. He just made it cold, put them to sleep. Two though...” The two glanced towards the brown haired girl, “What have we made?” “Hopefully someone to replace those we lost...She can certainly replace Kanna...Crazy enough.” The young girl placed down her crayon. “Number One can replace Rica...With the temperature control of his water...” “Number Three...Would he replace Samuel?” “No...I don't think we're going to be able to replace him. Not that power...” “Number Three and Four just have a lot of power...They will do well though.” “True...And...ugh...” One of the men suddenly convulsed, pitching backwards. The second turned, as the brown haired girl frowned, one hand forward, eyes closed, wind swirling around her. She was taking the air from the other's lungs. As the first man withered on the floor, the girl opened her mouth. “You're not suppose to talk about someone behind their backs. That's very rude,” the girl frowned, waving her finger. The first man became still, the second still staring in shock. The person in the bio hazard suit didn't seem to notice anything, continuing his work. “I...I...” the second man said, as the girl glared at him. “Say you're sorry,” the girl said, narrowing her eyes. “S...Sorry! It won't happen again!” The girl then grinned, and turned back to her paper, and began to color once more, “Good!” Shaking, the other man glanced towards his fallen comrade, then left. The man in bio hazard suit sighed. More he'd have to clean. (Haha, crazy little girl Erin. Haha.) |

-Colony 101: Market Jason gave a grateful nod, acknowledging their agrement before turning to leave. It seemed as if Melanie was preoccupied and with Kanna unconscious a better opportunity would present itself. With a sigh Jason disappeared back into the crowd of the market, heading to a bit of a secluded area in the mass. The young man pulled out his phone and the small card out of his pocket and dialed the number that was printed neatly....He felt a bit strange but pressed any worried feelings away. |

Protoss Colony Though Ema didn't have much she could talk about currently, not knowing a whole lot about most everything that was being discussed, she was madly scribbling down notes in her notepad about everything that sounded important, or interesting. The one thing she took the most notes about was the blue-haired robot girl amongst the group of people that had just arrived. She had a friend back home she knew was quite into technology like robots and such, herself... But as the group looked like they were ready to leave, Ema waved goodbye. "So long and good luck!" As she was waving, though, she partially turned to the Doctor, asking a question out of the corner of her mouth, "What's with the 3D glasses?" |

((I blame RP sign ups, Skype and the fact it’s 7AM for the suckyness of this post.)) [Republic Fringe Colony: City Center] Rinoa opened her mouth to say something, but Cyborg and Beast Boy both stepped forward almost instantly. Cyborg leaned closed and whispered a few something to her, while Beast Boy shook his head and waved his hands in the direction of the group of heavily armed marines. Sama, meanwhile, looked over to Didymus. “I don’t know who the two guys, don’t think I’ve ever met either of them. She, however, was my date for the SeeD ball… back on that day when… yeeeeah.” He paused. He could see that Cyborg and Beast Boy were trying to get Rinoa to calm down, but she clearly wanted to make a scene… and knowing her, that could turn bad pretty quick. “Listen, just let me deal with them, okay? They did help fight the Metarex, so that’s got to be worth something, right? And technically I don’t think she’s broken any laws…” He paused. ‘Oh God, I hope she hasn’t broken any laws yet…’ He shook his head and continued. “Anyway, just ignore them, alright?” The last thing Sama wanted to do was have any action taken that would result in his seeing General Fury Caraway ever again. [Colony 101: Market] Rica looked over to Melanie as she approached him and instantly took note of the expression on the girl’s face. She seemed troubled and as soon as she mentioned what was bothering her, Rica gave the girl a small smile. “No worries kiddo, I’m not exactly the frail type. Even your momma, as scary as she can be, would have to try a lot harder than that to hurt me.” He patted Melanie on the head, and then looked to the others. “Okay, everybody in the car who’s riding!” Felix called as he climbed in behind the wheel and waited. […] When Jason dialed the number, it was Tseng who answered. His voice seemed expectant. “Ahh… Jason, I’m glad you called. I had hoped that our meeting would be productive.” Tseng answered. “I assume then you’ve considered my offer?” [Protoss Colony] Jordan blinked once more. The Doctor? The guy who Ben had been grieving over? It was confusing, and he did not understand how this guy could be here if he had died… but their new friend Ben seemed a lot happier, so the Gunner didn’t see a reason in asking too many questions. “Well, this is all really interesting… but I think we might have started an alien some kind of civil war on this colony, so maybe we should leave? Before some more of those High Templar show up and arrest us… or worse.” Jordan sweat dropped. He always seemed to be the guy stuck with pointing out how crazy and dangerous things were around Molly. So this actually was not too odd. KOS-MOS, meanwhile, was still thinking about what chaos had said. She still did not understand everything, but somehow the white-haired boy called chaos seemed to make her feel better. “… Might we take him with us?” KOS-MOS asked Molly. |

Republic fringe colony Didymus paused. "OH. Oh. Wow." he said. He remembered that day, and the short conversation he had had with his CO at the time in which he had admitted that it was one of his darker "dreams" to crash/ruin a formal, romantic ball. He looked Rinoa over again. Still, she seemed familiar. And now that he was thinking about it, especially the day of Operation Hedge Trim, again, he was feeling a huge case of deja vu. "She looks...familiar..." he said. Something about that day... "I DO wonder what she was doing there...another ex-SeeD, perhaps? And let you deal with them, Sama? I'll watch. Deal with them. Consider that your next order-one that I hope you will not refuse." he said. Of course, if something struck him in the midst of this situation, he'd probably intervene. T.R.S. Florence Leaving Asuka for the time being, Misato went to check on Rei, if she was out of surgery. |

Colony 101: Market Melanie didn't seem convinced but made her way to the car none the less. Carefully the girl sat herself beside her unconsious mother. After a few moments she paused, blinking, and looked around. "Where did Jason go?" She said with a frown, looking out the window of the car. Meanwhile Jason continued his call, leaning up against the building her was next to. “I assume then you’ve considered my offer?” "Uh, yeah...I'd like to take you up on it if you are still interested. It's nothing too horrible is it? I mean excuse me if i'm a bit suspicious." Protoss Colony "Yeah, Jordan has a point. And I REALLY don't want to be around if they decide to take their anger out on the Arrow. I just hope Zeratul will be alright...." Eva and the others made their way back to the ship which (to Eva's relief) was unscathed. “… Might we take him with us?” Eva turned to KOS-MOS and then to Chaos. She thought about it for a bit before giving a nod. "Can't make the situation any worse can it? The more the merrier!" |

[Protoss Colony] "Can't make the situation any worse can it? The more the merrier!" Jordan wondered how true that statement really was, but decided not to say anything. KOS-MOS seemed a lot happier, so it did seem like a good thing to take him with them. He cast a glance behind them, looking to the Templar Towers. He didn’t hear anything that sounded like weapons being fired, nor was there any screaming or cursing. Still… “Okay, let’s get out of this place!” Jordan quickly headed into the Arrow, hoping they had avoided the trouble. [Colony 101: Market] Road to Rica’s "Where did Jason go?" Felix’s ears perked up when he heard Melanie ask about her brother. He frowned and probably would have sworn if not for the group of kids in the car. (Although with Kanna around, they had all probably heard things worse than he ever would have said.) The blond paused. He had a feeling he knew what Jason was up to… he should have warned him better, or just taken the card from him. Felix had a feeling that whatever Tseng wanted would be dangerous, most likely illegal and would probably result in Jason’s face gracing a few wanted posters. Market Tseng allowed a small chuckle at Jason’s remarks. “It is nothing too horrible at all. You see, something that belongs to my employer was recently stolen from him. We know who stole it, we even know where it is… but unfortunately, there is a barrier preventing me from entering the place and retrieving it. However… that barrier is made of a unique energy, one that could be broken by a NERV child’s abilities… however, as the barrier is quite strong, you may need help. At any rate, if you can break that barrier, I can do the rest and you will be handsomely rewarded.” Tseng chuckled again. Because chuckling is not suspicious. [Republic Fringe Colony: City Center] “DEAL with us?” Sama winced. Not only was Didymus not leaving as he hoped, but Rinoa had overheard them. There was no possible way this could end good. Despite their best attempts to hold her back, Rinoa pushed past Cyborg and Beast Boy and ran towards Sama and Didymus, a look of anger on her face. “Exactly WHAT have I done wrong, anyway? There’s no law against being on this Colony, and it’s hardly a crime to kill a bunch of Metarex! You might not like what I have to say, but that isn’t a crime either! So what have I done that needs to be DEALT with?” Rinoa demanded with a hand on her hip. “… Well… you are trespassing in an area that’s been secured by the military.” Sama pointed out. Rinoa opened her mouth, but then closed it. “… I’m VERY disappointed in you.” She said to Sama, poking him in the nose with an accusatory finger. Then she glared at Didymus. “And I just plain don’t like you!” She turned around and stormed off. “… Uh… it’s nothing personal… Rinoa’s just… energetic.” Beast Boy sweat dropped. “That’s one way of putting it.” Cyborg sighed. |

I'll bite your legs off!

Republic fringe colony-city center Didymus chuckled as Rinoa stormed off. Rinoa had demanded what she had done that needed to be "dealt with". Had Didymus known who she was, he may have answered "Attempted assassination of a Republic governor and other treasonous acts during a time of war". However, a memory of her identity seemed to elude him, at present time. At present time. Besides, if he were to scan her, attempt to match her face to a profile, it would come up as "Rinoa Heartilly", and clean of any criminal record. Her father's influence had never (yet) been dealt with, either. "Oh dear." Didymus said, grinning, the sarcasm clear in his voice. "A pretty girl has said she doesn't like me. What ever shall I do? Sama, I'm uncertain I still have the will to command, and lead the 3rd. Oh dear, woe is me, that she hates me so." "Anyway, whatever you're going to do, do it. I've said my piece. One more thing. For disregarding my orders, I'm willing to let you off with a SEVERE warning on the grounds that I eventually authorized you to keep doing what you were. However, you just mouthed off to me, a senior officer (despite the fact he was actually a bit younger). For that...your dinner tonight shall be somewhat reduced. I'm slapping you in the wrist here. Please, don't push me. Next time you want to disregard my orders, request to perform your alternative in a polite and respectful manner and I'll consider it if I can. Disregard them like you did here, however, I believe you told Miss Katsarugi that she could "stuff" her orders, and you'll be court-martialed for insubordination. This enemy we face is one of the greatest threats to mankind in the galaxy, as far as we know, and we CANNOT afford to confront it without discipline." He took a deep breath. He didn't WANT to be like this with Sama, but protocol was protocol. "With that being said, we've still got some time. Whatever it is you have to do, do it, and be sure you and the DSK are back aboard the Crusader when we move out-the signals will be pretty clear." With that, he turned to leave. Quistis, who had watched the exchange they had had with Rinoa, grinned.. Sama would recognize that grin as one she got when she was about to crack down on him for a prank, or some other misdemeanor he knew she had caught him at. "Sama...where are your manners?" she asked. "Again, aren't you going to introduce us? You know how much I'd LOVE to meet your...NEW friends...I want to know everything. Besides, he's a minor celebrity, you know? And you're mentioned as his faithful companion in all those accounts of the Mobian front. So...?" Didymus, even, could feel the...well, cool, sadistic tone in Quistis' voice. "Sama is one of my men. Are you attempting to somehow intimidate or hurt him?" he asked, his own tone containing an edge in it. "Is there a problem with wanting to get to know a war hero?" she asked, sarcastically. Didymus sighed. "Sama, is this woman causing you problems?" Despite the tension, they were still friends, and Didymus, like any proper officer, preferred to look out for his men. |

Protoss Colony chaos watched with interest as the group seemed... To not debate at all and accept him without even the slightest of reservations. Either these guys were gullible to an extreme, or KOS-MOS's word actually carried quite a bit of weight with them. He was betting it was the latter though. It felt... Nice to be welcomed into a group once in a while, and he visibly relaxed as he nodded happily to this person named Molly. It has been... Too long since he has actually traveled together with others, because his search always took him from place to place too quickly to actually make friends or allies. So he stuck to the role of a mysterious boy... Until now. Now, he found what he was looking for, and there was no longer any reason to jump from place to place without a meaning. Now... He could stay. "Thank you. I will do my best to make myself useful around the ship, and I like to think that my skills as a spacecraft engineer are top-notch. I will do my best not to let you down." He looked over the group again, his eyes jumping form person to person, marveling at how strange encounters can be. Here were gathered some of the most unique individuals in the universe: an android superweapon, The Doctor, Ben who he was sure was no longer FULLY human... Such a thing could not be just a simple coincidence. There was something... Something that bugged chaos, something at the back of his mind that screamed at him to be careful. And his intuition was rarely ever wrong. He would have to be very careful until they left this place. And indeed, his intuition proved to be correct... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Protoss Moon Orbit A ripple in space was the first clue. The ripple then opened... And announced the arrival of the NL Apocalypse, the ship immediately stabilizing after its hyperjump, slowing down to normal orbiting speeds seconds after exiting the ripple. The iris in space closed, leaving only the battleship moving. It took the ship almost no time at all to find the Protoss Colony... And it matched speed to the Moon's orbit, moving to a location that was almost above the protoss colony, to the side just enough so it did not seem that it was going to deploy any bombs. On the bridge of this ship, everything was a hive of activity. Sechs was focused entirely on controlling the ship's flight, stabilizing it but keeping his hands on the controls. Protoss were war-like, and it would not be smart to leave themselves unguarded against such a powerful ancient race. Even THIS ship couldn't withstand sustained fire from those plasma cannons. Elf and Zwölf were following Nova's rapidly-firing commands, setting up the ship's systems to full defensive operations, rerouting all energy from weapons to engines and shields. There was no point in deploying the Physigram, the Protoss could see right through it without a problem. Unlike the Andalites, whose only usage of the skills of the mind were communications between all of them, the Protoss took this skill to a whole new level. And a hologram that used a controlled kinetic energy field to replicate physical impacts could be seen right through. So instead, the ship was getting ready for a hostile situation. As for Nova himself... He was having the time of his life, shouting out orders in rapid-fire, while he himself searched for that all-too-familiar signature of the T.A.R.D.I.S. It was not inside the actual colony, it wouldn't be, so he instead started scanning the entire area around the colony to find it. "Elf! Deploy monitors! Zwölf! Make sure the systems are all green, we don't want any interference at the moment. Set the shields to AIA (Automatic Intensity Adjustment), and do NOT make it obvious. We don't want them to fire upon us too quickly. Sechs, if you see even ONE ball of plasma heading our way, I want you to back out of range and man the weapons. Jagan, are you ready in the Andromeda?" The response was instant, coming from a communication array: "Yes, professor, all systems are green and ready to move." Desty Nova nodded to himself, watching the scanner work. "The moment I find the T.A.R.D.I.S., you are being deployed. Make sure you are ready for it, I do not want to waste any time here, especially with the Protoss at unknown hostility levels. I do NOT want to be on the receiving end of their weapons today." "Yes, professor. I will deploy as soon as you give the signal. Jagan out." Desty turned his eyes from the communicator to the scanner again, tenting the fingers on his hands and tapping them together in sequence in impatience... |

Protoss Colony "Yeah. Kay guys ALL ABROAD THE ARROW!" Eva shouted, climbing into the racer and motioning the others to do the same. It would be a bit harder to take off with another person in the racer but she was confident that it could be done. The girl hopped onto her rocket seat and flipped a few switches in effort to bring the racer to life. The engines roared and Eva grinned. "So KOS-MOS, you ready?" The piolot asked before turning her comlink on and connecting "What about you Jordan! I'm putting in the coordinates as I speak!" Market However… that barrier is made of a unique energy, one that could be broken by a NERV child’s abilities… however, as the barrier is quite strong, you may need help. At any rate, if you can break that barrier, I can do the rest and you will be handsomely rewarded.” Jason thought about it for a few moments before speaking. He had no doubt he was strong...But how strong was the question. "I'll do it" he decided. If they were interested in his strength then he had to be capible of bringing it down. "How long will it take?" he added quickly. "My...Uh family might get suspicious if i'm gone too long..." |

I can't see what you're imagining

-Colony 101- Road To Rica's “Oh! Ummm...I'm sure he's fine!” Galv said, covering for Jason, “He...ummm...wanted to get some fresh air. To think, after what happened. He'll be back before to long.” He chuckled slightly, hoping this would work. Erin merely stared at her lap in her seat, still looking like she may start to cry again, but kept it in. Market “Tell them I am interested as well,” a voice said, Walter appearing somewhere behind Jason, “I need something to do as well...” -Protoss Colony- “These glasses help me see what's hidden,” The Doctor answered Ema, “Also, so when I'm watching those 3-D movies, it's like these things are coming right out at me.” Ben followed the others into the Arrow, missing the giant ship appear as he got in, taking his seat. The Doctor, however, looked up, and smiled. “The Protoss are not going to be to happy,” The Doctor grinned, and turned back to Ema, “Ema, you are going to be getting one heck of an adventure here soon.” -U.T.R. Fringe Colony- For the moment, Jenny hung around, just watching what was happening, and being on hand if something was needed. |

[Protoss Colony] Zeratul had managed to keep the peace, for the moment. Aldaris had run off, back to the Conclave. Zeratul did worry that eventually Aldaris would find enough support to usurp his power… but he knew that day would not be today. While there was a power struggle between the High and Dark Templar, many in the Conclave agreed that Zeratul, despite his flaws, had helped their people immensely so far. Then, he got more bad news. “Sir! Unknown ships approaching the Colony! Weapons systems detected.” Zeratul shot out of his chair. “Mobilize the forces, immediately.” [The Arrow] KOS-MOS nodded to Molly. “Indeed… I am ready for this.” She paused. Her entire life, KOS-MOS had not felt even the slightest bit of emotions, other than on rare occasion. Since the arrival of chaos, and the incident at the Protoss Tower, however, she had started feeling things. No… it started before that… she could not pinpoint it, but KOS-MOS felt like something had changed. Jordan, meanwhile, nodded. “I’m ready Molly! Let’s kick this adventure up a notch!” [Colony 101: Market] Tseng chuckled again. “Not to worry, my boy. The location is not far… at the edge of the market is an old bunker. You’ll only see the top of it sticking up from the ground. It was a smuggler’s hiding spot… all you have to do is break the seal on the door. That’s all. After that, I’ll be along to do the rest.” With a pause, Tseng went on. “Now… there may be a few guards. It is quite possible they are armed. I would advise you dispatch them quickly and quietly, if you can do so. However, I’m confident you can handle such a task… and remember, the reward for this is grand.” [Colony 101: Rica’s Manor] The car soon arrived at Rica’s mansion on the outskirts of town. After parking, Felix hurried off to unlock the door. He hoped that Rica himself would hurry back, since he wasn’t sure he could handle Kanna and Erin if the former woke up and still wanted to kill the latter. Luckily, a few minutes later, Rica did arrive. He was looking no worse for the ware, and now sported a new jacket and carried under his arm a crate with the word ‘alcohol’ painted on the outside. Felix just shook his head. “Is that even a good idea?” Felix sighed. [Republic Fringe Colony: City Center] Rinoa, while in the processing of storming off, stopped and looked to Jenny. “Listen, if you need a ride somewhere, I’d be happy to take you anywhere the Republic refused to!” Rinoa said, loudly enough that Didymus could hear. Cyborg and Beast Boy just sighed. Sama, meanwhile, looked over to Didymus and shook his head for a moment. “Look, I’ll follow your orders to the best of my abilities, but we both know you won’t court-martial me. For one thing, like you said, this is a enormous threat to the galaxy and you know that while I’m a pain in the ass, I’m also an asset. Two, you know I’m going to fight these bastards one way or another, and at least if I’m still in the UTR you have some control over how I do that… and three, Admiral Raynor still trusts me.” He paused, suddenly remembering something. “Admiral… Heidegger! That fat, miserable excuse for a human being! I almost forgot… Misato briefed me on what happened up in orbit…” His voice trailed off for a second. “… Thanks for not killing Asuka and Rei.” He shook his head. “Anyway! There’s no way you can let Heidegger get away with this! I know the guy’s pretty much top brass, and I know he’s skated on corruption accusations so much in the past it’s practically second-nature to him… but there’s something very important you need to know.” Sama pressed a button on his watch, and a small disc shot out. He handed it to Didymus. “These are schematics to a device that Raynor had installed in both Eva Units. It keeps the ‘personality’ of the Eva from coming forth. It’s also full-proof – Snake tested this thing for months before he ever deployed the Evas. There’s no WAY they could have freaked out like that if this device was intact… from what I heard, Heidegger was insistent on using the Evas, right? You need to check with the guards and see who accesses the Evas before the battle… I’m guessing Heidegger’s a lot more corrupt than anyone would have guessed.” Sama then, with that out of the way, finally turned his attention back to Quistis. He sweat dropped and shook his head. “There’s no problems.” He said to both Didymus and Quistis. “If you want to get to know him, talk to him. I…” He paused, his face turning serious again. “I… I’m sorry. I don’t expect you to ever be able to understand what happened, or why I’ve done what I’ve done… and if you need someone to blame for that day, I guess you can blame me. But I can’t keep looking back. For all the mistakes I’ve made, for all the order’s I’ve ignored and all the people I’ve killed… there’s a lot of people I’ve helped to. And in all honesty, that’s all I’m in this for. It’s not about pride or patriotism or wanting to be the ‘good guy’… When I die, I want to die knowing I helped more people than I hurt.” He shook his head. |
