[TRS Crusader: Mess Hall – Captain’s Table] While Didymus gave his speech, Sama pushed the eggs back and forth on his plate. He was listening, of course, but mainly he was just waiting for the inevitable explosion of Asuka’s temper. It happened anytime she and Didymus were together for any extended period or time. … or at short period of time. Naturally, when Didymus re-iterated his ban on the Eva Unit and conditioned Asuka’s participation in the battle on her taking simulator training, Sama winced. He knew Asuka quite well, having served with her in Philanthropy. The girl hated to be told what to do; she hated to be left out of battle, and really hated simulators. Much to his surprise, Asuka did not explode in fury. There was no yelling, no throwing of utensils and no cursing in any of the three languages she spoke. Sama cast a nervous glance at the redhead, wondering if perhaps she was building up to a total meltdown. And then Sama groaned. Asuka was sitting straight up, her hands folded on the table in front of her. She stared right at Didymus and seemed perfectly calm and content… and much to Sama’s horror, she was smiling. “Of course, sir.” Asuka replied in a manner that, while not genuine, was not dripping with sarcasm. “While I think you are making a mistake in grounding Eva-02, and I believe it is a mistake that may cost lives, I have learned to accept that fact that you are my superior officer and we must always respect the orders given by a superior officer.” Sama blinked. He wondered if perhaps Asuka had become a robot… or maybe she’d become whatever it was that Rei is. Whatever had happened, she was disagreeing in a respectful way and even vowing to comply with his orders despite her objections. That was a first. Even when Asuka and Sama worked for Solid Snake or Admiral Raynor, she had not shown this level of respect. It made Sama worry. “Are you… okay?” Sama asked, raising an eyebrow. “I am perfectly fine, thank you.” Asuka replied, and not in her usual smart-ass way. She then turned back to Didymus. “I would like to request permission to skip this mean, sir. If I am to be of any assistance in the upcoming battle, I will need all the simulator time I can get.” Sama’s jaw was somewhere by his shoes. This was either the greatest heel-face-turn in the history of mankind, or Asuka was suffering from some kind of complete mental breakdown. Either way, the SeeD-turned-Marine-turned-Secret Agent-turned… something else, was not about to say anything that might set her off. He also began to wonder just what the heck his current job description was. [Azmuth’s Firefly] Jordan had been wondering where his partner-in-crime was when suddenly Molly appeared. She was as cheerful in her wishing him a good morning as ever; which caused Jordan to crack a smile and shake his head. “Good morning, Molly.” He replied with a small grin. “You DO remember that we’re still in hot water with your dad, don’t you?” The Gunner was hoping to make conversation in the hallway for as long as possible… they were close enough to the kitchen that he could heard Don Wei’s voice in the distance. [Colony 101: Rica's Manor] Felix turned around when Jason appeared in the kitchen and gave the best smile the boy could muster. He had wondered who would be the first to come down and find food. “Good morning, ah, there’s food all around. Help yourself, I’ve made enough for everyone, I think.” Felix nodded, and then turned back to the stove where he was currently frying another few strips of bacon. |

-Colony 101: Rica's Manor- “Mmmm...smells great!” Samuel said, walking into the kitchen and looking towards Felix, “I haven't had a decent meal in years. Thanks!” Ethan walked in as well, taking a few eggs, but didn't say anything. -Upstairs- Galv walked out the door, smelling the food, then paused, outside Melanie's door. Deciding she'd probably like some of whatever that delicious smell was, he knocked on her door. “Melanie! There's food being cooked! Do you want some?” Galv called through the door. Behind him Erin walked past, stopping for a second as if to say something to him, but decided against it, instead going downstairs. -Azmuth's Firefly- Ben just nodded weakly to Don and Rick, finishing his cereal and then cleaning the bowl and putting it up. In the cargo hold, Azmuth himself was looking over KOS MOS, trying to figure it out. He thought for a second how much easier this would be if The Doctor was here, but quickly put that thought out of mind. It didn't help to dwell. “For something that seems human made, this KOS MOS is certainly advanced,” Azmuth said to himself. While he considered human tech to be quite good, he didn't consider it more advanced then Galvan or one of the ancient three level...Of course, not even the Galvans were on their level... -T.R.S. Crusader: Captain's Table- Asuka did not give an outburst, but Silver sat in his seat, frowning, stewing over things. And then he stood up, though on his seat, so he could still be seen. “You talk about all of mankind working together against this common threat...That's all well and good, but you forget. This isn't just humans here. You're not the only ones caught up in this war,” Silver said, slowly at first, “This enemy, the Metarex, is a threat to all species. It doesn't matter if you band together with other humans. The Metarex will still take you down. “There are the Andalites. There are the Yeerks. The Mobians, the Crogs, the Nourasians, the Galvans, the Tamarians and so many more species out there in the galaxy. While you may not believe my story, I saw what happened. The Metarex were winning. They were destroying everyone. It wasn't until recently, in my time, that we started counter attacking. And why was that? Because we forgot our differences and worked together for a goal. Survival.” Silver glared a little at Didymus, “The greatest lesson I ever learned was that it wasn't what we as an individual could do. What mattered is what we as a whole could do. It's all well and good you talk about 'mankind' but you have to remember your species isn't alone out here.” The pale hedgehog shook a little, closing his eyes, “Tell me, the Andalites are working with you. They extended the arm of friendship to help fight a common enemy...An enemy that you will most likely need to compromise with against an even greater threat. Have you told them anything about the Metarex that you've learned? The Plumbers are around to try and make sure there is communication between species. All known species have at least one Plumber member, if not more, minus the Metarex. It shouldn't have to be up to a group in the shadows to make sure important information is given for the protection of species...” (Silver's very...for working together...XD) |

T.R.S. Crusader-mess hall-captain's table Didymus glared at Silver. "Need I remind you..." he said. "...you are a guest at this table. I would appreciate it if you would mind your tongue. Do not presume to lecture me about the galactic state of affairs. Do you honestly believe that I am unaware of the other races, your own included? I spoke about MANKIND because I was addressing fellow humans, trying to get them to overcome the quarrels we may have already. The andalites may not have been the first to extend their arm in friendship-need I remind you, the Republic purposed the construction of the Galactic Forum. So again, although I can understand, and I apologize, if you felt left out...know your place. If you're going to address me at this table, even if it is to raise an issue with me-or if you are addressing ANY soldier on this vessel-show some respect. Again, you are our guest here. We will look after you...but you in turn must show the proper respect." However, then came Asuka's show. Didymus was...legitimately confused. He shot a look Sama's way, as if to say "You know her more than I do; what the crud is she trying to pull?" Nonetheless, although visibly surprised, he nodded her way. "Your objection is noted, Miss Soryu. My order stands. As for skipping this meal, finish what's on your plate, then you may leave. A general on Earth centuries ago said that an army marches on its stomach. And Ayanami...you will be monitoring the battles we participate in as well, offering advice-due to your tactical training-and you'll be going through simulator training to help prepare you for non-Eva mech piloting as well." |

Colony 101: Rica's Manor- Melanie shifted under her blankets, groaning a bit and giving a loud yawn. She pulled the blankets from over her head, eyes narrowed from the brightly lit room. She yawned once more and sat up. “Melanie! There's food being cooked! Do you want some?” Melanie blinked hopping from the bed and straightening her clothes and hair. "Uhh..Breakfast....--yes! Ummm just a second Galv!" She answered rushing to the door and opening it quickly. "Sorry!" she smiled brightly. Jason grinned, taking a good amount of food before sitting down at a nearby table. He took a bite and grinned. "Mmmmmm good, almost as impressive as Melanie's! Speaking of the kid...." He looked around. "I'm surprised she isn't up yet. Oh well, more for me" Kanna walked by, coffee still in hand. "Morning Ka-" "Go away" ".....Good morning to you too" Jason replied rolling his eyes. Kanna merely took another sip of her coffee, skipping food altogether. -Azmuth's Firefly- Eva grinned, even more yelling from Don Wei couldn't bring down the mood she was in currently. "Yeah, i'd expect so" she answered with a shrug "but hey it's early and maybe he's in a better mood this morning!" The two walked into the kitchen and were both greeted with a stern look from Don. "...Or not" Eva said, sitting down at the table. "Morning dad! Rick!" "Morning little mouse" Rick greeted, taking another sip of coffee. "Nice of you both to finally join us" Don greeted "Tired from yesterday's escapades?" |

[TRS Crusader: Mess Hall – Captain’s Table] Sama listened as first Silver, and then Didymus spoke. He felt like someone should say something, and was gathering his thoughts. “Silver, I can understand where you’re coming from, but you’ve got to give us a chance. You do have a point, there are a LOT of different species in this universe, and relations between them are never going to be perfect… but if we all constantly dwell on the mistakes and the setbacks we’ve made, we can never move forward.” Sama said slowly. “If you really want to work together, then let’s start now. If you want us all to cooperate, then start by not getting so worked up. I don’t think Didymus meant to offend you, but right now I think we should be more focused on defeating the Metarex.” He paused. “And D, cut the guy a break. He’s clearly got some problems with the UTR. I can understand why that would bother you, but it’s never good to judge others.” He leaned back. “Basically what I’m saying is, I can understand – to an extent – what both of you mean, but no matter how much you may disagree, don’t let it get personal! We have to roll with the punches sometimes – especially when we’re about to be in battle.” He gave a small sigh. In the meanwhile, Asuka had stuffed her face faster than anyone would have thought possible. When her plate was finally clean, she stood up. “Okay, I’m going now, sir…” [Colony 101: Rica's Manor] Felix was pleased to see that those who had appeared downstairs seemed to be enjoying breakfast. He finished the last few strips of bacon, plopped them on a plate and then took a seat at one of the stools on the other side of the kitchen counter. When Jason arrived and complimented the food, Felix began to relax a bit more. These newcomers weren’t so bad… and it was nice to have someone around aside from Rica. [Azmuth’s Firefly] KOS-MOS stared straight ahead at Azmuth, not speaking and not moving in the slightest. “… Do you have a question for me?” KOS-MOS asked. In the Firefly’s kitchen, Jordan was nowhere near as perky as Molly. When he slunk into the room beside her, he wondered what kind of reaction he would get from Don Wei. He was less worried about Rick. “Yesterday… wasn’t perfect, but we did survive, and we were successful in getting KOS-MOS.” Jordan pointed out. |

T.R.S. Crusader-mess hall-captain's table Didymus sighed. "Very well, Miss Soryu." He then turned to Sama. "Perhaps...nonetheless, I still wish proper respect out of him...nonetheless, indeed, we should avoid troublesome quarrels. If I snapped at you, I apologize..." he said, regarding Silver, "...but the fact remains that my points stand." |

[TRS Crusader: Mess Hall – Captain’s Table] Sama nodded. "Oh, I agree... you are the big dog on the ship and certainly do deserve respect; I just mean that both of you should be willing to compromise at least a bit, for the good of us all." He looked over to Silver. "And see? He's not such a bad guy; he's just very big on protocol and proper procedures. So you compromise a bit too by giving him the respect he wants and then maybe we can all move forward." Sama sighed a bit. Playing peace keeper was a tricky job. [...] Asuka left the Mess Hall, headed to an elevator and quickly moved to another area of the Crusader. She was wanting to get very far away from Didymus and from the eyes and ears that might spy on what was about to happen. Once she was away, she headed into a janitorial closet. Not a glamorous place for her grand plan. She withdrew a small, scrambled communicator from her pocket and placed a call. “Hello?” “It’s me.” Asuka sighed. “As I expected, Didymus went and banned the Evas from combat… that stupid son of a…” “Calm down, Miss. Soryu. I fully expected the Colonel would not change his mind. He has no reason to, and every reason not to. He, like so many others in this Republic, can not see the real threat.” Her contact replied… and he continued on, ranting a bit. “I see it. When the Metarex destroyed the Galactic Forum, I hoped the others would wake up to this truth. They are hardly the only threat… there are 129 versions of Space Pirates, some as small as one ship and others have colonized several worlds. The Skith, the Borg, the Zerg, the Crogs, the Ing . . . there are countless alien species out there that would sooner see humanity die than find peace with our Republic!” His ranting continued. “The only way we can insure our safety is to have the supreme technological advantage! The Metarex proved we do not have it. We don’t have time for moral objections on technology like the Evas or the Guyvers; we must proceed with every weapon we can muster for our arsenal! I intend to use the coming battle to demonstrate this point once and for all, Miss. Soryu!” Asuka rolled her eyes. She hated the politics and she did not for a moment care about any of it. She just wanted to get her machine back. “Whatever. When will you be arriving?” Asuka asked. “I’m already on my way, Miss. Soryu. The Colonel has yet to be informed, but my shuttle will be docking with the Crusader very shortly. I intend to use this battle as my platform to prove my point. I shall prove it to your Colonel, and to the rest like him.” “And you’re SURE you can make that jackass give me back my Eva?” Asuka questioned for the umpteenth time. “Gya haa haa haa! Of course, you fool girl, just remember, as far as that Colonel knows, I never called you yesterday and we’ve never met.” “We HAVE never met… and I wouldn’t want people to think I’m friends with an old creeper like you.” Asuka spat into the communicator. “Gya haa haa haa! Relax, relax, I know what I’m doing… I didn’t make Admiral by being a damn fool, you know!” ((Bum bum, ba da dum BUUUUUUUUUUUUM!)) |

T.R.S. Crusader-mess hall-captain's table Didymus regarded Sama, and waiting. Suddenly, a message came through. "Colonel, sorry to bother. We are about to receive a VIP." "What?" Didymus asked. "Strange...EarthCom usually would have told me about any incoming VIPs..." "It's Admiral Heidegger...his shuttle will be docking in a matter of minutes." Didymus's face visibly showed disappointment, edginess, and annoyance-as well as a spot of fear. ' "Excrement." he said. Looking over the other Republic soldiers at the table, he quickly spoke. "Alright! Dress uniforms! Quickly! We've got to make sure the admiral gets a proper welcome!" Didymus quickly made his way to his room, finding his dress uniform and donning it, doing what he could to make its appearance more crisp in the few minutes he deemed he had. Via PDAs, he quickly threw together a greeting party and a group or marines to present arms to the admiral, and was at the hangar he was predicted to be landing in in minutes. "Has the admiral clarified if he would like arms to be presented?" he asked, a channel now open to the admiral's shuttle pilot from his PDA. Misato was there, grinning to herself, and Didymus was standing, shaking a bit, apprehensive of Heidegger's arrival...most in the service were in agreement: Heidegger was rarely a welcome officer. |

[TRS Crusader: Hangar] Didymus was standing, shaking a bit, apprehensive of Heidegger's arrival...most in the service were in agreement: Heidegger was rarely a welcome officer. Admiral Heidegger had a reputation that reached every ear in the UTR. For one thing, there were a few quiet rumors that he had ‘fast-tracked’ his career with everything from bribery to blackmail. There were also rumors that his conduct with some of the female officers under his demand was . . . questionable. Of course, no one ever dared make an official accusation of anything. Heidegger also had a reputation for being a hard man to work for, an even harder man to work with, and a guy you never wanted to work against. One thing was very well known though: If Heidegger was going to a battle, he had his reasons. When Didymus’ message came through, a gruff voice responded. “I want arms present wherever I am! You never know when you might need them! Gya haa haa haa!” The laugh was Heidegger’s; one that anyone who had ever heard him speak before knew and eventually came to be annoyed by. The Admiral had the habit of laughing quite often. Asuka arrived, wearing a dress uniform she had swiped out of the laundry. She stood, and even saluted. If Didymus wasn’t suspicious before, he would be now. Sama was there too. He had also borrowed a uniform from the laundry, since his SeeD uniform was still the only one he could find, and he had already seen the problem with wearing that. As the shuttle arrived, two Republic Marines in full battle armor stepped out and stood on either side of the door. Heidegger had not kidded – he truly DID like to see arms present. The full tactical gear was more than most would be used to, and another reason for Heidegger’s ‘unique’ reputation. Then came Heidegger. He wore several metals on his jacket, and his beard stretched down to his waistline (which was quite round and large). He strode out onto the ramp and then into the hangar, taking large steps. “Ahh! Colonel Didymus!” Heidegger shouted in his gruff voice. “I must apologize for my sudden appearance; but I wanted to see the upcoming battle with my own two eyes! Gya haa haa haa! And don’t worry, I wouldn’t dream of interfering in your operations! You just continue on like I’m not even here!” Heidegger did not mean that promise in the least. |

T.R.S. Crusader-hangar Asuka's salute, and, in fact, her nature since breakfast, had put Didymus even MORE on edge. He ignored it now and concentrated on welcoming Heidegger. As Heidegger approached through the ranks of marines presenting arms, Didymus saluted. "Good morning, sir. I apologize if the welcome is unsatisfactory; but if I may so, I was alerted to your coming literally minutes ago..." he said. "...and very well, sir. But please, as long as you're here, I offer you my quarters, and command of the fleet..." he said. Although it wouldn't show in his voice, he was reluctant to hand over either, to Heidegger, at least... "...our replacements arrived recently, and we were going to proceed to the designated system in a short while. Do you have anything to tell me, sir? Shall I brief you on what's been happening here? Shall we carry on?" |

-T.R.S. Crusader: Captain's Table- Silver glared back at Didymus, shaking a little. A man he had barely met, who he had heard stories about, who accepted his stories, was dead. The Doctor was gone, and Silver was afraid. Afraid this meant that history would repeat itself, and there would be nothing he could do to stop it. “I...apologize...” Silver said, “Something...bad, has come to my attention lately.” Then, Didymus had to leave, and Silver slumped back in his chair. “...Sorry Cosmo...” Silver sighed, “Just...things are bad when I'm from...” -Colony 101: Rica's Manor- Ethan smiled. Whenever Rica returned as was ready, Ethan would be ready to fight... -Upstairs- Galv smiled at Melanie, taking her hand as they went downstairs to the kitchen. “That...that smells really good...” Galv said, helping himself to a plate, passing one to Melanie so she could get her food as well. “Thank you,” Galv said to Felix. -Azmuth's Firefly- Azmuth paused, as KOS MOS spoke. “Two, actually,” he answered, “Who made you, and what is the purpose of your creation?” |

[Azmuth’s Firefly “Yesterday… wasn’t perfect, but we did survive, and we were successful in getting KOS-MOS.” "I'd count that as an overall victory" Eva said with a shrug sitting down beside her father and peering into his cup "Decaf?" Sure, she was acting pretty relaxed over the whole situation. She gave her father a grin who just returned it with another stern look. Perhaps she believed all of the worry she gave her father was payback for leaving her at a boarding school for almost 10 years....Yeah something like that. Payback was pretty nice. Don gave a cough. "Actually it's not" he answered, taking another sip. Eva gave another shrug. "So when can me an Jordan take the Arrow out again?" Don choked on the hot liquid. "What makes you think you get to go out again anytime soon?! Either of you!" "It's in my blood! And hey we came back just fine! Jordan and I are more than willing to go out again!" For no reason Don glared at Jordan. Things tended to be his fault even when they weren't.... "And do you think the same thing young man?" Colony 101: Rica's Manor- Melanie smiled as the two made their way downstairs, joining the large group wanting breakfast. "Mmmmm eggs!" she said happily. "Thank you!" she added gratefully to Felix "Glad you two decided to join us" Jason said from his spot, taking a bite of eggs. "Good morning Jason!" She paused, noting her mom, who was not leaving for upstairs once more, coffee in tow. She didn't look over to Melanie and Galv which made the girl worried "You didn't say anything did you?" "Hey, my lips are sealed kiddo...Kanna's just acting weird. I think she has a hangover." "A what?" "....Nothing. Eat your eggs" T.R.S. Crusader: Cosmo awoke slowly in her bed. Looking around she noticed that Silver wasn't around...Perhaps he went for food....Mmmm food.... |

[TRS Crusader: Hangar] "Gya haa haa haa!" Heidegger's laugh sounded once more, and he clapped Didymus on the back quite hard. It was another of his habits. "Don't be silly, lad! If I wanted command of the fleet, I'd just take it from you!” Heidegger was actually quite serious about that ‘joke’ of his. He was a man who abused his power every chance he had. However, his current scheme required that he not have tactical command. Heidegger intended to make only a single order. It was essential to his plan to ‘prove wrong’ many at EarthComm who had disagreed with him. “And I don’t need a briefing! I’m up to speed on the situation. Just carry on, Colonel… I intend only to observe the battle.” Asuka tried to hold back her grin. [Colony 101: Rica's Manor] “You’re welcome.” Felix nodded back to Melanie as he finally prepared his own plate. Rica, meanwhile, was still outside. He had been there waiting for Ethan for a while, and was beginning to wonder if the tough-talking man who forgot his own name had remembered they were supposed to meet outside. [Azmuth’s Firefly] Jordan winced at Don’s glare. He wondered how it was that HE always got blamed for these situations, when it was so clearly Molly’s fault! Well, the fact that Don was Molly’s father and Jordan was the guy constantly hanging out with his teenage daughter might have had something to do with it. “Well…” Jordan hesitated, but then spoke up. “If that android thing does turn out to be half as special as Zeratul claimed, then it’s probably a good thing that we got it and not someone like the Crog, right?” He was trying to put a positive spin on this, without irritating either Don or Eva. He had a feeling he was out of luck. |

T.R.S. Crusader-hangar bay "Yes sir." Didymus said, then turned to leave, reporting to the bridge. His PDA had actually sounded out: The colony they were to guard had just detected some warp signatures-not unlike that the metarex were allegedly using... "Sir, you may join me in the briefing room if you wish..." Didymus said to Heidegger. "CARRY ON!" he called out to everyone else, dismissing them from the makeshift greeting ceremony. He was nervous. So THIS is why the fleet had been held up for so long. They were awaiting the admiral's arrival. ...he was worried that they may not get to the colony in time... In the meantime, he walked by Sama. "War room.", he said, and said the same to Misato, and several other officers got the word. The fleet formed up and entered hyperspace. T.R.S. Crusader-war room Didymus had spent many hours in the war room during the war against the mobians, directing Republic forces, giving briefings, etc. It was familiar to him, a circular room with a computer and holographic display in the center allowing all sorts of battlefield information, as well as a holographic display of the battle overall, to be viewed. It was a superb tactical innovation, that system, and it doubled as a briefing room. Several officers were gathered together to hear what Didymus had to say, Misato included. When they were ready, Didymus called their attention. "Ladies and gentlemen..." he said. "...we're late. In fact, I fear the colony we were tasked with defending may be under siege when we arrive. It's a small colony, but populated well enough in several major cities, here, here, and here. I want us, depending on what information we receive in hyperspace, to be fully ready for battle when we arrive, as close as possible, at least." |
