Wherever Ryukku is

"Okay! Then to Lavan we go!!!" Ryukku exclaimed, pointing in the direction of the Uchiha District. She then began running towards where that battle was occuring, with about a mile wide smile on her face. "We're about to conclude the greatest scientific experiment to ever hit Konohagakure!!!"

((they'll show up at the district by my next post {unless GS wants to do something before they get to the district}, which I hope I'll be able to make in less time than it took to start this one :heh: )

Uchiha District

Lavan was certainly an unpredictable type... Neither Raida nor the Raida clone expected to be hugged, even with their knowledge of Lavan always did the unpredictable. "Wh-what are you doing?" the Raida clone asked of Lavan. It took a lot for Raida-clone to not take this easy chance to attack, as she had to focus on the fact that it seemed like a second Lavan was right near the true Raida. That meant there was a one in three chance that the true Lavan was currently hugging herself (other two options being he was with the true Raida, or was in hiding somewhere else). If she could help it, not confirming herself to be the clone for the time being was paramount.

However, could she actually see, the Raida-clone would have noticed a fatal flaw she overlooked, in the face of the true Raida that was also being hugged by a Lavan: The true Raida's face was currently redder than the flames of Lavan's greatest fires...

(( XD ; oh, I also thought electric-chakra was supposed to be strong against ground-type chakra? did i misread about that whole cycle?))

Of course, Lavan's unpredictability almost always paid off. Almost. He was very, VERY lucky it paid off this time as well. Both Raidas went still as a rock just as he went for a leaping glomp on both of them and tackled them into a bear hug... But one looked sour and annoyed, while the other was currently... Was she turning RED? Yes! She was turning red!

Lavan just couldn't help but smirk, both of them wearing identical shit-eating grins as they looked at the Raidas... And both spoke exactly in unison.

"Sorry... But the color red speaks the truth this time around! Kasai Bunshin Bakuha!"

And the one on the FAKE Raida, the currently blinded Raida who looked just all too sour to be amongst the current group of rather eccentric individuals, was suddenly subject to a pointblank explosion of one of Lavan's fire clones. However, there was no FORCE in the explosion... Just a wave of pure heat and flames that spread in all directions, traveling all too quickly to dodge around. And just as Raida was supposedly out of the danger zone, the flames that spread outwards surrounded her like 7 points, her being the vector of some strange, 7-pointed star, the flames at the seven "tips" growing until they were as large as bonfires. And Lavan's voice then came out of nowhere.

"I have studied ancient bloodlines quite extensively. You would be AMAZED what you can come up with when you have an inventor working with you on a technique that replicates the infamous Makyo Hyosho (Demonic Mirroir Ice Crystals) of the lost clan which used ice as its primary tactic. It took some time to suit it to my particular fighting style... But it worked. And YOU will be my first victim. Akai Fuuin: Tenkashinami Shichiten Kangoku Rendan!" (Red Seal: Ignition Step Seven-Point Star Prison Combo)

The bonfires each flared, and it looked like Lavan's shape appeared inside of every single one, though it was obscured, unclear and blurred as though he was moving or vibrating, but it looked like he was standing in the same place. At the exact same time, a ring of flame connected all of the seven bonfires together.

And, without any warning, a Lavan shot by Raida, BEHIND her, accelerated to such a point that he would have even been a blur of energy to a three-tomoe Sharingan, lashing out with some sort of flame... And a fraction of a second later, a SECOND slash came from a completely different line between the seven bonfires, and then a third, a fourth, all almost too fast to keep track of as Lavan used the fire from the very bonfires he was stepping in between to accelerate him like some sort of propulsion engines, blasting him in one direction after another. Whether he was using clones to do this or it was the real him only was unknown. From the outside to the untrained eye, it looked like the fake Raida was suddenly locked in the center between connecting lines of a seven-pointed star.

It held a disadvantage, of course. The seven points were made on a vertical plane, and as such, could have a weakness from going up or down. Also, Lavan lost his scimitars earlier, thus lowering his damaging power dramatically. But who in their right mind could make seals when being slashed by something that feels like a hot lash across their limb? Concentrating through pain is a shinobi's training, of course, but NO shinobi or kunoichi is ever ready for instant 2nd degree burns.

... If nothing else, this was the perfect distraction.

The other Lavan however, the one who tackled the reddening Raida, let go of her rather awkwardly and rubbed the back of his head, looking downright embarrassed and sheepish. He almost looked SKITTISH of all things, throwing apologetic glances at Raida as he switched looking at her and at the ground.

"Hey, uhh... Sorry about the uninvited hug, but that was the first plan I could come up with off the top of my head. I knew that the clones were made of dark chakra and thus are not susceptible to emotional influence and I knew that I could make the difference this way and possibly figure out the right one and help you out fighting this darned clone and... Uhh... You're not mad at me, are you?"

The moment Kaoru hit the wall, Musashi charged forward hoping to get a chance to subdue him. As he ran, though, Galv unleashed his electrical jutsu. He stopped in his charge and watched; eager to see if Kaoru could get himself out of the way in time. If he did, Musashi would have to be ready.

On The Way To The Uchiha District

Sama wasn't fully sure what she'd meant by what she'd called out as Ryukku had taken off, but he quickly followed her anyway. As he did, however, his nose picked up a third scent that he had not recognized earlier.

It was subtle, almost invisible on the wind, but something about it sent a shiver through his spine. Almost as if Gobi himself was frightened deep within Sama's body.

Despite the chill, he paid it no mind, instead focusing on keeping up with Ryukku. He didn't want to miss the greatest scientific experiment in Konohagakure -- that sounded fun.

After a long fight, Kaoru found himself very tired, and as he sighed and opened his eyes after being slammed against the building, he saw the blue wave of electricity from Galv.

It hit Kaoru dead on, and he slid down to the ground, unable to move.

"Ugh..." he moaned, aching all over. When Boota saw this, he jumped in fear, realizing that now Kaoru couldn't back him up, and scurried around with the ring instead of fighting Pichu directly. The chase would only keep up for a little while though.

Uchiha District

Sayuri giggled at Lavan. "Lavan always does the last thin you'd expect someone to do! ...but does that mean we expect him to do the unexpected...?" She pondered this thought for a minute, her eyes glazed like dounuts.

Uchiha District

Raida-clone was definitely sure she was found out now... As Lavan attacked within his flaming heptagram prison, Raida-clone just kneeled down and used chakra through her long hair to try and protect herself from the full force of Lavan's attacks, as she thought of a way to counter him and escape.

...

Meanwhile, outside, the true Raida stood staring at the ground, unwilling to look up and possibly let Lavan, and especially Nanami, see how red she still was. "No... Umm... There's no problem..." she responded to Lavan.

...

As Lavan began his strike, Ryukku and (likely) Sama arrived in the district, watching. "Oooh! This is perfect!" she exclaimed, before forming some seals and biting her thumb. "Super Special Summoning Jutsu!" she said, placing her hand on the ground.

There was a puff of smoke, but nothing appeared except a small hole in the ground.

"What... the...?" was all the shocked Ryukku managed to get out.

The Raida clone, using her chained spikes going through the ground, and the sound of Ryukku's jutsu exclamation to determine the location, had taken what Ryukku summoned through the ground, into the prison of flames. Of course, this too was a risk, but the introduction of a new creature within the prison might lessen Lavan's assault for a short time, as well as give her an opportunity to prepare for her "Kiei no Tazuna" jutsu.

However...

"What... the...?" was all the shocked Raida-clone managed to say, as she touched Ryukku's summon.

What she had captured, and as such what Ryukku had summoned, was something completely unexpected. Raida-clone could not see it, but upon touching it once, she felt only metal, not anything made of any sort of flesh. It was something that appeared to be a large mechanical egg of some sort. Some lights on it were glowing, and it almost seemed to absorb some of the chakra from the flames that hit it, instead of just only taking damage.

Raida-clone didn't really want to stay, though, to find out what happened if it took too much damage, and tried to escape through the hole she made in capturing the mechanical egg. She knew Lavan had some earth-based techniques, and likely a trap set for her going this way... But her priorities now had changed. Even as a clone made from the Voyager's dark chakra that, she wouldn't have much of a chance to defeat a Lavan that truely believed her to be the evil clone. But causing as much damage as possible before her ultimate demise was now her priority...

The mechanical egg, however, remained, starting to glow red from the heat of Lavan's flames. That wasn't a good thing...

[size0]((translators note - Kiei no Tazuna no Jutsu (Bridle of Chivalry Technique); Raida can use this to basically be able to command most summons, even when they do not have a signed contract with herself; she has to be able to touch the summon first, however, and stay within a certain radius of the summon, for that to work))

The Lavan in front of the real, rather reddened Raida sighed in relief as his shoulders sagged a bit. He LOOKED relieved too. After all, it is not every day you come out and hug a girl in such a situation out of necessity, and she FORGIVES you afterwards. So, it was no wonder Lavan looked as if he was let off the hook this time. He sagged a bit as well, as if displaying his relief with a slack of all muscles... Before raising a mischievous eye to glance up at Sayuri.

"Nope! The moment you expect me to do the unexpected, I do the most expected thing possible. That's what makes us unexpected people so surprising: We always do the opposite of what you think we will do. Or something like that."

He flashed red suddenly, and rose up to his full height, grinning. However, he looked slightly different than before, slightly more winded. He just replaced himself with the Lavan that was attacking the fake Raida. He has switched so many times, actually, that only the Byakugan or the Sharingan could now find the real him or whomever it was.

Why did he just replace himself? Because the moment the Fake Raida appeared to be going underground, Lavan replaced himself with one of his advanced fire clones, and that clone decided not to waste any time and exploded like a small bomb in mid-technique, thus ending the combo he developed with a rather spectacular bang, releasing an INCREDIBLE amount of heat. The Lavan in front of Raida, the one who replaced himself with the clone that was speaking to Sayuri, looked VERY, VERY pleased with himself.

"Oi. Everybody here okay? No one too damaged to continue fighting yet? Cause we have more trouble incoming, and not just from the enemies we have fought so far. Sheesh, who knew a chase into the Uchiha compound would turn into...Well... This."

And THEN he finally looked around, measuring up the collateral damage to the area and gave a low whistle.

"I hope they're not going to be taking this out of MY account..."

The fight really did a number on this section of the Uchiha compound. Where Laan fought, there was nothing but charred ashes, and all around it were broken buildings, bent poles and various debris from cracked ground and mutilated houses. There was a merry fire dancing around the debris as well in various areas, courtesy of the local pyromaniac, several places were downright LEVELED by the wave of water that Nanami or her clone summoned... In other place, there was a roughly circular area of wreckage around the group.

"Maya-chan will have my HEAD for this..."

While he watched, however, his hands were busy. He was focusing on something, and his hands were flying through series of seals, one after another, setting himself up for something. He KNEW that the clone was not destroyed yet. The dark-chakra clones were too powerful to kill in such a simple way. He was preparing for the final assault, and looking ever more pleased with himself.

He had a plan.

Musashi let out a relieved sigh. Tonight was going horribly -- all of his plans were as good as ruined. 'No... there's more important things happening now.' He thought to himself as he turned his full attention to the now-paralyzed boy.

"Galv, how long will this last?" He called out to his Vegetable Ninja friend.

Not content to stand and wait for an answer, he hurried over to Kaoru and propped the boy up against the side of a nearby building. Looking the kid in the face, up close and uninterrupted by a battle, Musashi got his first really good look at Kaoru.

Certain resemblances didn't go unnoticed. The familiarity of this guy had bugged him since Kaoru lost his hat. Narrowing his mismatched eyes, he began to speak.

"... You're unable to move, unable to escape... and you've managed to get me really pissed off. You attacked me, stole that ring... it seems to me you know exactly what I had planned for tonight and you're intent on stopping it." All this, Musashi said in his regular voice.

Venom was suddenly injected into his words: "Why? And who exactly are you? Are you part of the group that's attacked this village, and if you are, what's your group's goal?"

Musashi was tired, sweaty, bloody and irritated beyond extreme.

If only he had known that his life was going to get a lot harder -- everyone's would.

Uchiha District

Sama arrived seconds after Ryukku, his nose twitching so quickly it was practically a blur. There was so many different types of chakra, and so many sources of it, that it was driving his chakra-sensitive senses crazy.

He glanced all around, taking in the full account of the destruction and the on-going jutsus. The giant dome he recognized as belonging to Lavan's chakra was of particular interest to him. He had always been impressed by how well Lavan seemed to work in co-operation with his biju.

His head twisted so fast his neck made a popping sound, though, when he caught the scent of Ryukku's chakra. He watched her summoning and a smile crossed his face -- whatever she was summoning, it was bound to be awesome -- but quickly his smile disappeared as her summon was snatched up and taken beneath the dome by the Raida-clone.

"Uh oh..." Was all he could mutter. He wasn't sure what would happen next, but he started moving his hands to form signs. He didn't know if the technique he was building for would be able to do much against what would happen next, but if he was needed he wanted to be ready.

When the fight had appeared to be concluded, Nanami tried to collect her thoughts. She failed miserably in this regard. What a night this had been! First Lavan and his group had reappeared after being presumed dead, and then a massive invasion of Konoha. Clones and epic battles -- it was all a lot of hysteria.

Kaoru sighed, knowing he'd been beaten, but he wasn't prepared to tell every detail of his story just yet.

But for now, he knew he had to answer Musashi's questions.

"Believe it or not, I came to help you." Kaoru finally admitted. "I came to help all of you. You're not supposed to ask her to marry you, d-- Musashi. You can't. Because..."

He sighed again. "Because she'll say no. At least she will if you ask her now. With or without me, this invasion would happen tonight, and afterwards you'd ask her to marry you, and she'd say no. After this invasion, Konoha will once again enter a state of unrest-- more criminals are after this village than before; who wants to get married at a time like that?"

Still aching from Galv's attack Kaoru grunted as he tried to move one of his hands, to no avail. "Naturally a denied proposal isn't the best thing for a relationship-- but the point is you've gotta wait. And I came to make sure you couldn't ask her. If I just told you like this at first, there's no way you'd believe me. I just used Towairaito to get in Konoha without sticking out too much."

Kaoru seemed to refuse to keep going, sighing again and looking away from Musashi and Galv.

Musashi wasn't sure what to make of this kid anymore. He'd gone from being a presumptive rogue ninja bent on the destruction of Konoha (or whatever those Towairaito guys wanted – up until now, Musashi hadn't even known the name of their organization; though usually these things ended in some level of destruction so it was a fair guess) to claiming he was here to help Musashi.

There were three things that were making him increasingly irritated. The first was what Kaoru had said – if everything he'd just said was true, then he was actually here to help Musashi – but on that same token, it would mean Sayuri would turn him down, his current greatest fear and self-doubt. Not exactly the kind of thing someone wants to acknowledge as the truth – especially a romantic-at-heart like Musashi.

Though, this could just be another trick of the mysterious Kaoru to buy him a chance to recover and escape/count attack, and that possibility also infuriated him because it meant this kid knew enough about him to know just how to confuse and annoy him the most, even without jutsu or attacks.

The biggest thing that was causing his blood to boil, though, was the simple fact that he believed Kaoru. After all, he was unable to fight or escape and it would take only a split second for Musashi to inflict serious injury on him if he tried too. Not only that, but Galv and Misaki were here too and both were highly skilled, fantastic ninja who could easily win against Kaoru in his condition. There was no real advantage to obtain by lying.

And worse yet, Musashi could see in the boy's face that there was some level of honesty in what he was saying. Which led to the single most annoying, fury-inducing question of all.

“How can you possibly know that!?” Musashi blurted out.

Konohospital

Inside the filing room, Sengoku was still reading over the files he had stolen earlier, while Natsume leaned against the wall, her face pressed up against the small window.

“There's something going on outside. A whole lot of chakra's being used up out there, and some of it has properties I've ever sensed before. We should be joining the action – or at least hiding somewhere we can watch from!” Natsume studied chakra, she loved it; and during her studies was one of the few times her eyes would come alive and she'd be truly happy. The rest of the time she would just emo around, and she always got fussy when she missed a chance to do what she really liked.

“...” Sengoku did not answer. He hadn't spoken a word since reading the files. They had been protected with several jutsu, and if not for his own special talent, he never would have been able to unseal them. Once he'd messed up, and burnt himself on a acid trap – but that burn was worth it when he'd finally seen confirmation of what that strange woman had told him.

“Hey!” Natsume floated over to the squatting Sengoku and punched him in the back of the head; hard enough to get his attention. “Did you listen to a word I said?”

Sengoku looked up from the files. “... Sorry. I found it... after all these years...”

Natsume paused herself, forgetting momentarily about the amazing battles she could sense going on in the distance. “Eh? You FOUND it? Your birth record? So, you really are from Konoha... then... that other thing that Mariko woman said, was it true...?”

Closing the files and hiding them among his cloak, Sengoku stood up. “You wanted to go watch the fighting, right?”

Natsume narrowed her eyes. She hated it when he did things like this – giving her exactly what she wanted to avoid talking about whatever was bothering him. Well, at least in this case it also served to give her an answer.

“Alright, alright! Let's go...” Natsume trailed off. For a moment, she'd thought she'd felt something... different. “Hey... follow me!” She nodded, opening the window and leaping out.

Sengoku hesitated, but he followed her. Besides, searching the village might give him a chance to find them...

"Oh... no..." Ryukku stood wide-eyed, staring at the giant blast of fire, and backing away from the hole in the ground from where her summon was taken. "I... I didn't build that to be able to take this sort of heat... Especially before its activation..."

As Ryukku waited for the flames to settle around where she hoped the mechanical egg was, the smell of burnt flesh overtook the air.

However, it was more noticibly, to anyone with a strong sense of smell, the scent of burnt snake skin... Soon enough, the Raida clone appeared out of the hole closer to Ryukku.

"You seem too happy, Lavan..." she spoke, forming a set of seals. "I wonder how happy you'd be if you see what we truely are..."

This line caused the true Raida to look up towards her evil clone, and once she recognized the seals her clone was forming, she could barely say one word. "...no..."

The clone then made a dash ahead towards where Raida was, before suddenly stopping and transforming into a dead burnt snake. It was a decoy, using the snake she used like a shield ((Sasuke did something similar once, I believe)) against the most damaging effects of the fiery explosion, to give the true clone the little bit of time she needed to get to the true Raida. The true Raida retreated away from the decoy, but was confronted by the true clone, who managed to land one blow to her forehead.

"So show them what we truely are!" the clone then laughed. She wasn't paying any attention to Lavan, which was not a smart idea with him being her enemy as well, but that wasn't important now. She, being a clone with all the thoughts and memories of the true Raida, knew the true amount of damage she had dealt with her technique... The Kyousei Fuujin Tekishutsu no Jutsu (Technique of Forced Seal Extraction)...

The true Raida then quickly turned away from the others, trying to keep herself from being truely seen, while also trying to fend off the now-attacking Raida-clone.

...

The flames began to settle down around where Lavan had been using his flaming seven-pointed star combo, revealing the red hot mechanical egg. Some parts on the outside were molten, and it seemed to be bulging out... "No!! Don't explode!!! Please!" Ryukku yelled at the mechanical egg, as if it would actually do anything. But before anything else could happen, the mechanical egg did explode, sending molten metal, as well as not-quite-molten shards of metal, and fire, out towards everyone and everything in the area.

It was not a good day to be an abandoned building in the Uchiha District.

Things were happening very quickly, all over the place, and none of it seemed to be good. The fake-Raida had turned out to be a fake-fake-Raida who was really a snake, and the real-fake-Raida had just attacked the real-Raida with some jutsu that Sama could not recognize.

That, though, was not Sama's prime concern. Nope, instead he was more preoccupied with the waves of molten metal that were spraying in every direction. The Uchiha District would be burnt to the ground – and more concerning to him, all of his friends would be coated in liquid-hot metal.

He was suddenly glad he'd started charging this technique: “Garandou to Hateshinai konsanpushon no Jutsu!*” His body had physically changed at this point; five long tails of white fur had appeared behind him, his teeth had become fangs and whiskers had grown from his cheeks. He was having to unleash as much of Gobi as he could to make this technique strong enough to help them.

Usually when his tails appeared, they each shone with a different color – red for fire, blue for water, green for wind, yellow for earth and purple for the void; but now each of the five were a deep shade of purple. Sama's fingernails had grown into claws during his transformation and jumped to the air and slashed with them. At once, gigantic claw-marks seemed to rip holes in the very air around them – eerie holes that were aglow with an inverted black light.

The void sucked in, absorbing a great deal of the molten-hot metal that threatened to wash away our heroes – but Sama had not had enough time to make the voids large enough to suck away the full amount of the liquidized metal – and he feared what that could mean.

Meanwhile, while the biju-boy was trying to move the metal out of here, Nanami caught sight of her friend running back after the clone had attacked her. While her water jutsu probably could have helped slow the liquid-metal flood, she was more concerned with Raida.

“Raida! Wait, what's wrong?” Nanami dashed after her, hoping to reach her in time to help with whatever had happened.

(( [size0]* = Garandou to Hateshinai konsanpushon no Jutsu: Void of Everlasting Consumption Technique; basically, utilizing the fifth power of Gobi, Sama opens a void that absorbs things – most anything. Similar to Miroku's kazanna, I guess is how I'd describe it.))

Kaoru rolled his eyes. "I can't tell you that, moron. But I can tell you that I'm not lying. Believe me-- no one needs you and Sayuri to be together more than me."

He sighed and eyed Musashi, looking annoyed. "You don't have to look so mad. I stopped you, didn't I? That's really the only reason I came here, so you can let me go now, right?"

Once again, Kaoru's eyes changed-- he activated his Sharingan, possibly to try to cast a genjutsu to further convince Musashi to let him go.

Sayuri leapt to her feet and grabbed Nanami's arm, trying to stop her from going to Raida.

"I-I don't think you should--!" She started shouting, but the explosion and fear of being burnt if the Void didn't consume even one piece of metal flying everywhere made her let go of Nanami's arm. "Ah! Nevermind!"

"And what is that supposed to mean?" Musashi demanded, but a second later and the sound of an explosion in the distance reached his ears. He sighed; "Ah, forget it."

Musashi closed his eyes and sighed. He wasn't going to get the answers he wanted, but... he could not help but shake the feeling that this kid was being honest. At least, about his reasons for being here and his motive for attacking Musashi.

"... You say you came to help me, I don't know if I believe you or not -- but now is obviously a bad time for this." He jabbed Kaoru in the forehead with his index finger, but not to attack. Instead, he sent a jolt of chakra through his central nervous system that would counter-act the electric paralysis.

"Whatever you're still hiding, I'm sure I'll figure out eventually. For now -- Go. Get out of here -- and don't make me regret this."

He stood up and watched Kaoru carefully. If the kid made even a single hostile move... well, that's why Musashi's hand had reverted to the hilt of his blade. There were too many unanswered questions for him to think about right now, anyway.

Uchiha District

Nanami felt the tug on her arm, and she could hear Sayuri, but right now she couldn't bring herself to obey her cousin. Whatever was happening to Raida, Nanami wanted too -- no, had too be there for her.

Ironically enough, it was chiefly due to Sayuri herself that Nanami had developed such a strong sense of friendship.

Raida continued trying to escape towards the darker areas of the district, but upon hearing Nanami following her, she turned around while trying to hide the left side of her face with her hand.

"Please... please don't judge me..." she said after turning around. Though Orochimaru had been killed exactly one year ago, him and his group's experiments had left a deep mark on Raida, especially with how her last year in Konoha let her realize what good and evil truly were, and how many of the things she had done in her past were even more monstrous than she even thought. And there was also the cursed seal she had, which was what she was forced to use when attacking various places... And the comments she recalled hearing about herself, and the monstrous appearance her released seal had given her...

At that moment, the Raida-clone used the Senkou Kaen no Jutsu (Flash Blaze/Flame Technique), towards both Raida and Nanami. Raida avoided it easily, but the light from the flame revealed what the now activated seal had done. ((top panel there, btw))

Meanwhile, Ryukku managed to avoid most of the debris from the explosion, and made her way to the source of the explosion, sighing in relief. "At least that explosion didn't seem to damage her too much..." she then said to herself, looking down at what appeared to be something similar to the puppets used by some ninjas from Sunagakure.

Raida was hiding herself in the shadows, something that Nanami knew all too much about. "I'm the last person who'd judge you."

She walked closer to her friend, trying to get a read on exactly what was happening -- at that moment, the clone-Raida gave her a chance; though in a more violent way than Nanami would have chosen.

A blast of flames that gave Nanami a quick look at what was happening to her friend. She too avoided the blaze, landing close to Raida and turning towards the clone.

She opened her mouth as if to yell at the clone, but instead of angry words a torrent of water shot forth like a missile at the false Raida. It was the Suiton Suijinheki.

Once the water was done pouring out of her mouth, Nanami cast a glance to Raida and offered her a smile.
