(And now for something completely different.) -Valley of the End- “Hey Maize-chan,” Galv muttered, returning to where Cess, Musashi and the others were at, with Maize. “Yes Galv-kun?” the fellow ninja asked. “Did you ever get the feeling you haven’t done anything for months, despite the fact it’s only been a few minutes?” Galv wondered. “Hmmm…Can’t say I have,” Maize answered. “Why do you ask?” “Eh, no reason,” Galv muttered, then went to see if he could help his brother Cess with the healing. |

Otogakure Battlefield The protective cone of ice had been rigged in case Lavan tried to melt it. It was supposed to rebound his attack, using Itachi’s dark chakra and his chemically-enhanced sharingan. Of course, when every trace of chakra in your body has suddenly turned into fuel for an inferno, it’s hard to do anything other than scream. For that reason, Itachi’s trap never achieved fruition. Instead the demented Akatsuki leader fell to his knees and ushered out a piercing scream. He was not on fire, for the flames were burning inside his veins and chakra coils. He had tried to pass off his wounds to Nanami in exchange for healthy tissue, but that plan was stopped. All of Itachi’s plans were stopped. He had been cheating death ever since his last encounter with Sasuke and Lavan, and he had finally ran out of tricks. All at once his sides, the very spots where Sasuke had stabbed him, exploded forth. The blood that usher out was ablaze with flames. Every attempt of his to stop the fatal injuries given to him earlier were gone. He could not stop the stabbing of the swords and Lavan’s powerful inner attack. It was not possible, even for Itachi. Still . . . Uchiha Itachi refused to embrass his death. He was burning and bleeding, but he held his head high and stared right at Lavan, and at Sasuke. A kunai struck his chest. Itachi’s determined look suddenly changed to surprise. Nanami was free of his control now, and the kunai she had thrown was a special one. The very poisoned blade he had given her, meant for Sakura. “As the muscle dies by the venom, you will truly have a black heart.” Nanami spat. Itachi could not speak. But the three people who had fought the hardest to destroy him had each given him a mortal wound. Three fatal injuries is enough to shut anyone up – even Itachi. Finally, Itachi fell onto the scorched earth around him. Face down, he died. While the flames ate away the last traces of him, insuring that neither Biju, Medic or the mad mind of Frei could ever bring him back or clone him or transfer him soul of any of those other death-cheating things could ever happen again, a strange calm settled onto Otogakure no Sato. After all . . . Itachi was dead. Akatsuki had died with him. “Stabbed . . . turned into a living torch . . . and posioned with his own venom . . . . . . is . . . is that enough?” Nanami’s voice was weak, barely a whisper. Her legs were shaking and sweat dripped down from her forehead, but she summoned up every last ounce of strength to remain standing. “Is he really dead? Is it over?” Nanami shook as a cold wind blew. Despite the smoldering purple flames leftover from Itachi’s “rain”storm and the still-burning flames of the Firebird, she felt a chill run down her spine. Yes, she had been covered in ice from her fingers up to her shoulders, and though it was gone, her sleeves were ripped off with it and she was covered in frostbite. Still, the chill came not from the cold. She felt a emotion that was rare to her . . . relief. Even during the time spent happy in Konoha, after Sasuke had forgive her and accepted her despite knowing her true identity, even when she had powerful ninja like Musashi, Sayuri, Sasuke and Lavan promise to protect her and help her, she had never felt truly relieved. Now, though, the strange emotion was flooding her body. It was . . . nice. |

Otogakure Battlefield Lavan watched in amazement as the sun began to burn away the ice, and knew that the building chakra was going to backlash in some trap... But then, the seal worked... And Itachi collapsed. And then, as he watched, almost as if in slow-motion, the sharp, poisoned projectile impacted and killed the evil Akatsuki member once and for all. Fr a second, he could not believe it, staring at the body. It worked. Not only did it work, it WORKED!!! It was absolutely AMAZING!!! He found it, he found the loophole, he struck out at Itachi with the one technique he made specifically to fight opponents he needed to keep track of, and he WON using that technique. Him, Nanami, Sasuke, even Sayuri with her whirlwind, they all struct at Itachi together and actually SUCCEEDED. What seemed like the impossible was possible and happened. He was right. For once, he was RIGHT!!! THAT broke Lavan out of his shell. He started shaking, the shaking accelerating and becoming heavier and heavier until finally, snickers came out of his mouth. They turned into giggles, giggles into heavy chuckling, and chuckling... Into a full-blow, happy laughter that filled the field. The fires from the demonic chakra faded, and he kept on laughing, eyes sparkling. "I can't believe it... I just can't believe it, but WHOOOOO!!! WE WON!!! WE WON AND SHOWED HIM WHO WERE THE MASTERS AROUND THESE PARTS!!! YEEEHAAAAAAW!!!" And spinning right around, still laughing, he grabbed Nanami into a bone-crushing hug, his chakra automatically speeding up as he met cold, frostbitten skin, his body temperature rising like an automatic defense, seeping the heat into the cold he was touching. But Lavan didn't care for his natural reactions right now. Seconds later though, he released her and gave her a happy smile, looking right into the eye. "See, Nanami-chan? It IS possible! EVERYTHING is possible!!! You HEAR THAT, ITACHI-CHAN??? EVERYTHING! IS! POSSIBLE!!!" He spun about and raised his hands into the air. "I AM THE BIGGEST PYROMANIAC IN THE WOOOOOOOORLD!!!" |

Otogakure Battlefield The curse marks slowly vanished away, and a regular looking Sasuke was all that was left. Though he was scowling. Could this really be it? After all these years, all the blood, sweat, and yes tears, could Itachi finally be dead? Sasuke didn't buy it. But that might have been cause he had supposedly just killed Itachi 3 times today, and once as a super-powered Biju. Sasuke's chakra, excuse the pun, was completely burnt up. He had his reserves though and he had a few more things to do. Sasuke walked over to his dead brother's body, and pulled his sword out of Itachi's chest. When he pulled it out though....nothing. He was half expecting acid to be burning through the metal, or an explosive tag to go off. But nothing happened. Sasuke then eyed the remaining members. The fire boy was ecstatic. And why shouldn't he be? As he was exclaiming vividly he was the number one pyromaniac in the world. Sasuke almost sighed, he had never quite learned Ameratsu, his lack of Mangekyo Sharingan prohibited control of it. So let the pyromaniac dance, just as long as he didn't start embracing everyone. Then again that wouldn't have been bad for all, at least not for Nanami. Sasuke looked at his now fully adopted daughter. She was the real killer of Itachi. These words burned Sasuke deeply. Here he had spent his entire life for this moment. Was it wasted now that he wasn't the killer? And then Sasuke eyed his beautiful daughter. He longed to embrace her, but it wasn't the time. Ironically though, Itachi had won, Sasuke realized. Although Itachi would no longer be the killer of the Uchihas. That would be Sasuke's role now. Sayuri would grow up to be a splendid ninja, and her husband more than likely would be the Uzumaki boy. And as for Nanami, well Sasuke could tell her intentions judging by how she looked at Lavan. So when it all came down to it... The Uchiha clan would die with Sasuke. Sasuke bent down, and grabbed his dead brother by the throat, lifting him up. "Sayuri," Sasuke spoke to his daughter, "Make sure you all get home safely, and soon." In the blink of an eye Sasuke dissapeared, taking his brother with him, there was still one last thing to accomplish. Akatsuki HQ It was just as Sasuke thought. The defenses around the old HQ had been taken down. Using his brother's ring, Sasuke was easily able to walk into the old HQ. He was not alone. "So does this make me the leader of Akatsuki now?" a being in a black cloak with red clouds asked. (Bum Bum Bummm... Very long post with not much interaction. I'll continue the conversation with Sasuke and the mystery dude next post. Sama! If Itachi is still alive(wouldn't surprise me) Then I hope this didn't mess anything up) |

Otogakura Battlefield "Where--?" Sayuri began to ask her father where he was going with Itachi's Knowing there wasn't much else she could do about her father being upset, she turned to her cousin and the #1 Pyro on the planet. "Alright!" Sayuri cheered happily. "You two ready to ead back home? I don't have another scroll to take us there, and you guys look too tired to have a lot of chakra left, so it'll be a three-day hike to Konoha!" Despite this being bad news, Sayuri seemed awful happy about it. |

Otogakura Battlefield It seemed that the cloud of darkness that Itachi had cast over the land was gone. Not the actual cloud -- Sayuri had gotten rid of that already. No, this time it was the metaphorical cloud that had weighed on the hearts and minds of everyone who came against Itachi in some way. His brother, who had perhaps the most reason to want Itachi dead. Without the wounds inflicted by Sasuke's swords, Itachi would never have been backed in a corner, and perhaps he could have won. His brother had cut the tethers that held that cloud in place; for no one had fought harder, or longer to insure Itachi's demise. Sayuri, the daughter of Sasuke. Not only had she lifted the cloud of death above them when Itachi took the coward's road, but she had helped convert Nanami to the side of good in the first place. She had played a important part in lifting the cloud. Lavan, the Firebird who overcame the Weasel. Through his actions, both in the present and the past, Itachi's defenses were weakened forever, and in the end, it had been vital in destroying the Flame King of Akatsuki. And his daughter... Nanami. Haunted by her own past and the terrible deeds she had wrought and had wrought upon her because of Itachi, she had dreamed of the day when he would be gone forever... but never before now had she known she could be a part of that. Now that darkness was gone... and a jovial feeling seemed to settle in. Sayuri was cheerfully reminding them of the long walk they now had, Lavan was engaged in one of his usual over-the-top celebrations, which made Nanami wonder if her hair might become as pink as cotton candy if she wasn't careful. Still... Nanami was happy. Truly happy for the first time since she could remember. Her father and his evil were gone, wiped away from the world. And this time, it was for real. She could feel it. Then, Nanami did something that was unusual. She jumped forward and wrapped her arms around the cousin who she would now call sister and hugged Sayuri, tears filling her eyes. "It's over..." She whispered quietly for a moment. "IT'S OVER!!!" This time it was less quiet, and more of a yell to the heavens. She was overjoyed, for the lifetime of agony she had suffered at Itachi's hands was over. "Thank you!" She beamed. "For everything!" As she smiled at Sayuri, though, something moved in the corner of her eye. For a moment a feeling in the pit of her stomach lurched up and scared the hell out of her. She spun around, shuriken suddenly in hand and she glared over at the body. Had she seen it move? Running over without a word, a somber look on her face, she looked down... and she saw the cause of the movement. "Ack! Don't hurt me Madam Nanami!" The culprit was not Itachi. Something had been poking him violently in the head with a stick. That something was a small, green treefrog who wore a ninja's vest, spoke perfect english and was holding a very small camera. "Wha...?" Nanami seemed caught off guard. This hadn't been what she was expecting. "M-Master sent me with the scroll! I mean, in the scroll! I mean, the one Mistress Sayuri used!" The frog endeavored to explain. "Master deeply wanted to help in the fight, but as he can't move right now, he sent me... I'm a summon who specializes in spying... my camera broadcasts right to my master's head, so he can watch and make sure you are all safe..." The frog was rambling and Nanami ignored it. She gave a sigh of relief that the movement hadn't been her worst fear realized. No, looking past the frog at the remains of Uchiha Itachi, she realized he was dead. Really, truly and honestly dead. That mystery solved, she turned away from the body and the frog. Her eyes turned to Lavan, and like the hair on his head, her cheeks gained a shade of crimson. "I... thank you." She said simply. |

Otogakure Battlefield "We are the champions, we are the champions! No time for losers, cause we are the CHAMPIONS!!! YAHOOOOOOO!!! We're the champions OF THE WORLD!!! Yeah! Take that, Missus "I've got a stick too far up my butt" Itachi! We put you down, and down you went and WHOOOO!!!" Lavan was absolutely EXHILARATED. And even with such a low amount of chakra, both demonic and his own left in his body, he couldn't help but bounce around like a large red blob of sunshine and happiness. The death of ITachi has finally proven to Lavan that everything was possible, that he COULD do what he set out to do, that he COULD keep his promises. And this was one promise that he swore never to break... And he didn't. He saved Nanami, he saved Sayuri, he saved everyone and he saved himself. He COULD do it. His training has paid off. He was powerful enough. And he would grow... But what mattered is that he had the strength to protect. And... He had the strength and courage to finally take up the mantle of the Hachi Clan Head, though that was the LAST thing on Lavan's list of reasons why he was so happy. And this entire line of thought is probably THE reason that Lavan jumped onto Itachi's corpse and started to dance the "Lucky and Badass Dance" on it (Or was it an incredibly over-the-top Tapdance??? Well, at least Maya had the right idea. He looked absolutely retarded), swinging around jubilantly, jumping from one leg to another and waving his hands expressively in the air, while shouting "Oh yeah! Who's the Man! Who's your boss!" over and over again. And being a blur of red, oranges and yellows, one could swear that they were seeing the outline of a 7-tailed bird formed by those colors in the dance, though it might have been purely imaginative... Either the form of a firebird or an incredibly rude gesture usually made with the middle finger. Though the moment Nanami turned to Lavan and spoke her gratitude, Lavan stopped in mid-move, one leg raised into the air, his hands above his head with palms together, face looking at her curiously, almost as if just remembering that she was there... Before realizing (probably by misinterpreting Nanami's red face for embarrassment at his idiocy) that he was in an utterly stupid-looking position and quickly got off the body, rubbing the back of his head in embarrassment, looking her right back in the eye with a twinkling, mischievous, happy pair of red orbs. "I told you, Nanami-chan! Remember how I asked if you ever had the chance to escape his grasp, would you take it? And you did. You fought today. And see, with a little effort, we kicked his womanly, mascara-covered face into the dirt. I promised to help you, Nanami-chan. And I did. I never go back on my promises, because I am a Hachi. And the Hachi never go back on their promises. ESPECIALLY promises to those the Hachi cares for the most!" He grinned mightily, bringing up his fist and igniting it into flame, looking all heroic (and somewhat insane). "Besides!!! This was FUN!!! I wouldn't do it again if it endangered anybody, but if there was no such danger except to possibly myself... I'd do this again!!! This was so much fun! You know, Nanami-chan, you end up in quite a lot of trouble! What with Itachi-chan and Sayuri-chan... No offense, Sayuri-chan, but you're also quite "troublesome". Seriously." Then, his fist winked out, and he looked at it strangely, before blinking a few times and looking embarrassed, rubbing the back of his head with the arm that was just on fire. "Uhh... Oops... Hehe, I guess I'm tired..." |

Akatsuki HQ Sasuke looked at the man in the room with a simple look. It was not one of hatred, nor one of disgust. It seemed as though he knew the man. And Sasuke did. "Akatsuki is dead. It died with him," Sasuke said, dropping his brother's body to the floor. "I don't care what you do, but this organization won't ever rise up again." The sole remaining Akatsuki member looked over at Sasuke, a smirk on his face. He seemed to be disinterested however, he was looking down at his hands, where he had a vast collection of rings. "It's funny how many members of our society betrayed us. Especially when its so hard to get in. Otherwise I would now posses all the rings, that brat from Konoha has one for example." Sasuke shook his head slowly. "Though I happened to like your brother. So vicious and bloodthirsty. He was a good friend indeed." "He was a killer," Sasuke retorted. "And yet you killed him," the member said almost with glee. "You would have been a fine addition to our little group you know." Ignoring this rambling Sasuke got right to the point, "Have you accomplished your mission I assigned you?" The man cocked his head to the side almost tauntingly, "Of course. Since when have I ever failed?" The man laughed at some unheard joke. "My brother has been brought back to the light, and will remain there as long as he is surrounded by his friends." Sasuke nodded at this, "Very good Susumu." Susumu, for he had now been unveiled, came forward so he was looking Sasuke in the eyes. "The final decision is up to him now. If he chooses the path of vengance, he will end up like me, able to attack Chakra directly. If he chooses instead to pursure other matters like love, friendship, and whatever other crap you feed him, then who knows how he will develop? However.." "However?" Sasuke pressed. "However, if he chooses that beast stage again, then the consequences would be catastrophic. He will not return again. Never. I had to lie to convince him otherwise, but I am dead serious. The results are irreversible. If he goes into such a state again kill him, or we might have yet another Biju loose." Sasuke gravely nodded. "But he is of no danger to the others?" Sighing, Susumu crossed his arms, "Not unless he is in that beast stage. Don't let him pursue a Jutsu that will allow him to try and acheive that, it doesn't work. I've tried. I never did get to go beast like most of my family did. They all were going to be stuck like that forever, and new Biju would be running rampant, I had no choice but to kill them-so they could be saved." Having known what it was like to loose his entire family, Sasuke bowed his head in remorse. "And the scar?" Now it was Susumu's time to bow his head, "He'll tell you when he's ready. Even I won't go there." Sasuke looked quizzingly at Susumu. "And what are your plans for the future?" "Who knows maybe I'll settle down somewhere, start my own organization. I was thinking of one that I was thinking you could join." "I'm no criminal." Sasuke replied. "But you were at one point." Susumu grinned, plotting. Sasuke thrusted his hand forward. Looking surprised, Susumu shook the hand, before taking the ring from the ninja's hand. "Your brother's ring? No keep it." Susumu said as he flipped it back to Sasuke. After a pause the ninja continued. "Thanks. For helping my pupil. But don't get cocky, the next time we meet..." Sasuke started to walk out the door. "I know the drill mate," Susumu said, "and believe me the offer to join Towairaito will still be open." Sasuke walked out, with Susumu looking on... (Towairaito Means Twilight in Japanese. Akatsuki means dawn, and with that organization dead, perhaps twilight will have it's reign. Lots of things in this post. Susumu actually saved his brother? And he killed his entire clan out of mercy instead of vengance? And Sasuke actually made a deal with Akatsuki? Lots of secrets still yet to be revealed. Be here same Ninja Time, same Ninja Channel, for what happens to my other two characters, Hikaru and Misaki) |

((:OO Bravo Cojo, that is one of the single most surprising plot twists I've seen in a long time.)) Valley Of The End "... Hey." Musashi was lying on his back, staring up at the night sky. He knew, because of his spy-frog, that his friends in the Sound Village were safe. He felt relieved... Orochimaru was gone, Itachi was dead now too. The two greatest threats he'd ever heard his parents speak of since he was a child had been destroyed. Their evil flames extinguished from the world forever. "Galv, I don't suppose you have any more of those bean things, do you?" Musashi did feel great to know that those he cared for were safe, and that they were ready to enter a whole new world. The sun had set on the days when Konoha's two greatest traitors inspired fear and summoned chaos. While he knew better than to believe that their lives would be free of turmoil and evil, he did know that this was a new world they would wake up to tomorrow. The opportunities were endless. Yet, even with the prospect of a new future, Musashi was really looking forward to some downtime. He wanted to joke and laugh with his sister, to have a marathon sparring session with his best friend, and if he could find some suitable burn ointment, maybe try his luck against another good friend. He wanted to get to know another friend better, to make her feel welcomed among them. It goes without saying, but he wanted to find Sayuri and wrap his arms around her, and not let go until Sasuke beat him away with a sword. And, there was one more thing he wanted to do. He wanted to see his father and to apologize for all the times he'd treated Naruto badly. |

-Valley of the End- “Yah!” Galv said, rifling through his things and pulling out a Sensu Bean. “We have a couple of those.” Bending down, Galv handed the bean to Musashi. Meanwhile, above them, two black coated figures looked down upon everyone. “Shouldn’t we attack them now, while they’re weak?” Ebash wondered. “Nah…” Axel answered, his face in a tight frown, “We don’t want Konoha on us for one.” “The Organization isn’t going to like this…” the female sighed, “Well, let’s go.” Nodding, they both pulled out a scroll, and disappeared in a puff of smoke. |

[size0]((it's been AGES since I've RPed... I wonder if I can still do it decently enough to wrap this up whenever this wraps up)) Valley o' the End Casually late, Shimizawa Toushiro appeared within the valley. Normally, it would have been Adjani Kenpachi, but he still was pretty much incapacitated from his battle with Fake Itachi #1 of 3-or-so. So another who had trained under the same person as Kenpachi went in for ambulence duty. "It seems your mission was successful..." he said silently, looking down at Sama and Ryukku. Just from seeing Ryukku just after returning from the Orochimaru's Lair battlefield that evening, he knew she was going to head out to get Sama, and as such was following her. Ryukku wasn't exactly listening, though, considering she was fast asleep. Cess's medical skills had helped with most of her injuries, and even though his sensu beans never worked well for herself, the half-bean did manage to kill off the bugs Shiranai had sent into her stomach. Now, only rest was what she needed, and even that was now made much easier, as Sama was there now. "Should I go after those two people?" Toushiro then wondered aloud, after Ebash and Axel dissapeared. ((yeah, crappy post. Anyway I have absolutely nothing planned {as if I did, I probobly would have posted something in the last however many months it's been})) |

((Looks like a good post to me. ^^)) Valley of the End Unknown visitors are just the kind of thing you'd think someone with the hearing and smelling of a dog biju would be able to detect easily. However, Sama was not paying much attention to anything. He sat by Ryukku, not joining in the conversation. Instead he looked down at his hand, and more specifically the ring that was still on his finger. He had forgotten before, in all the commotion, to remove the Akatsuki ring. Now he wondered what he would do with it. Although he hated and despised the idea that he had been taken in by the spell of Sharingan and had served Akatsuki, it had happened none the less. It was a part of him, and even a part that is shrouded in darkness and undesirable is still something hard to just throw away. Finally, he closed his eyes and slipped the ring from his finger. There was no need for it anymore. He could not possibly have known that Akatsuki's current leader had died no more than a few minutes ago. He had no way of realizing that Akatsuki was dead, and aside from him there were only a handful of people still alive who had once belonged to it. "... Shiranai... we wound up making the same mistake in life... but to you, it was never a mistake, was it?" He wondered aloud as he looked up at the dark sky. "... But... The village forgave me... and so did the only person who really matters. That part of my life is over, but I'll never forget what I did... that way I'll never make those mistakes again." As it had before, his chakra gathered in his hand and the ring began to glow. He focused enough chakra into it that the ring cracked and sizzled, but then he stopped before it actually exploded. After that, he slipped it back on his finger. A broken ring to remind him of a broken past... but also to inspire him for a promising future. His dramatic moment done and over with, a goofy grin returned to his lips and he laid back with his hands behind his head. He cast a glance over to Ryukku and sighed happily. Somehow he had escaped Akatsuki and managed to get a second shot at the life he left behind. "Thanks!" Musashi eagerly accepted the beans and swallowed them down. Slowly he felt some strength return to him so he gripped the sword on the ground beside him and used it to prop himself up. Even as he did so, he felt the need for it leaving him, so he returned the blade to the sheath on his back. "I hate to eat and run, but... I have to be going now." Musashi bowed to Cess, Galv and Maize and then to Toushiro. Mistaking Sama for asleep, he left him alone as he stalked forward a bit and started digging around in his Chuunin Vest. "Hmm... bits of string... some medicine... a loose shuriken, that isn't in the right pocket... Aha! A traveling scroll!" Musashi opened the scroll and threw it to the ground. Waving farewell, he stepped into the scroll and made a quick succession of hand signs, not waiting for the senzu bean to restore a large amount of chakra and instead squandering away most of what it had returned to him. Patience wasn't his strong suit. Otogakure Battlefield With a puff of thick gray smoke, Musashi staggered out and had to repeatedly blink his eyes. "Hey, I hear you guys won!" Musashi grinned happily. "Does this mean Akatsuki won't be ruining any more parties? 'Cause if so, then we're throwing one... yeah, another one. We never really finished the first..." Musashi rubbed the back of his neck and smiled to them all, although his eyes, mismatched though they may be, turned to each of them in turn. You can guess who they settled on in the end. |

((EDIT)) Otogakure Battlefield "Me? Troublesome?" Sayuri giggled. "I guess I must be, if someone with Lavan-kun's personality is saying so! Oh! Wait, I got one; Careful Lavan-kun: if you get anymore hot air in your head, you might float away!" She laughed more, covering her mouth. It's not really cool to laugh at your own joke, but Sayuri stopped caring about what was cool a long time ago. In fact, in case no one noticed, Sayuri was a completely different person from the quiet, bitter girl she was two years ago. She'd let her friends help her, and she found she could be the smiley, happy teenaged girl that was bottled inside for so long. When she finally stopped laughing, Sayuri looked to her cousin. "Nanami-chan," She began. "Listen... I know you're in the ANBU right now, and you might not be insterested in what I'm going to ask you... but..." She smiled and put her hands together. "I want to ask you if you'll join Konoha's Military Police with me! Since our ancestors funded it, after all. I just want to do what father always wanted to do-- he said he wanted to be in the Military Police Force like grandfather was..." And then Musashi appeared! Hooray! "Musashi!" She cheered, waving wildly. "You're on your feet again! Are you sure you're okay?" Sayuri walked over to him and bit her lip. "I knew it! You're totally not okay! You need some soup! No parties until you're feeling better!" ((I don't know it Sasuke is in the Military Police, but it's likely that he isn't, because he's a sensei (not to say he can't do both), so parts of Sayuri's statement could be somewhat incorrect)) Hokage's Office Naruto sighed as he watched some random carpenter ninja (YES carpenter ninja. But there are no Walrus Ninja) rebuild his office from when Itachi attack it. "Man, I'm bored." He said to Sakura, who was sitting on a nearby chair. "Isn't there a crisis going on that I could check in on?" "Not if Sasuke's gonna be a drama queen and not report back!" Sakura laughed. "I can't even sense his chakra! He must've gone pretty far, and he's taken Sayuri with him! Nanami and Lavan... they're all gone!" She crossed her arms. "But Musashi, Hikaru, Misaki, those nice Veggie kids and some of our secret agents are still around. But no danger as far as my medics can report. I wonder why no one is back yet." |

Valley of the End Hikaru lay on the ground, or in essence the water. He didn't ask for medical attention, nor did he seem to want any. He just lay there, thinking. He saw Musashi take off, and longed to go with him. He simply didn't have the strength though. But he would catch up later, there was much to talk to him about. He overheard the conversations to the extent that he gathered Itachi had finally met his match. Hikaru couldn't help but be slightly disappointed. He had only help end the life of one ninja psychopath and Itachi would have been good for the resume. Hikaru startled, and turned a little too quickly, sending pain shooting up his entire body. But what he saw, or rather what he didn't see, pained him all the more. His brother was gone, simply gone. After all that, after all the pain, his brother had won. He started to growl softly, his brother was not only still alive, but up and about causing more trouble for the world. His only goal in life now was to find him and... "Hikaru-kun!" Misaski said suddenly. Startled, Hikaru turned once more to see Misaki standing behind him. He instantly wished he hadn't. Not only did pain once again shoot through him, but even gazing at Misaki caused him pain. Although she stood there, apparently with full chakra, the dried blood on her chest, and the slight hole from her healed wound caused him pain. Though in the sunlight, Misaski's name had never rung more true. The sun made every part of her gleam in the sun. It seemed as though the sun chose to only illuminate her, as if she had managed to steal all of it's rays... Hikaru shook his head. Since when did he think thoughts like these? Had it not been moments ago when he would have done anything to get another kiss from Sayuri? But for some reason he couldn't help it. "Hey," he offered lamely, propping himself up onto his knees. "How are you holding up?" "Fine." she replied, and not a word more. The two shared an awkward silence, with Hikaru glancing away, unable to look at her. She knelt down beside him. "Don't feel bad," she said softly. "It's all over now, and everythings alright now. We won." "But at what cost?" Hikaru retorted unable to contain himself. "My brother's gone, and out there somewhere, Musashi and Sayuri are off to who knows where probably in danger and I'm not there to protect them-my nakama. And you almost..." Misaski shook her head slowly, shushing him by putting her forefinger to his lips. "You talk too much. I was talking about you, we won." Hikaru used his tongue to feel the fangs in his mouth. He also noticed that his one eye was still swollen. He doubted he would ever be the same again. "I'm a monster..." he offered slowly. He was stopped by an embrace from his teammate. He had been hugged many times, but this time felt different. He said nothing more, just reveling in the moment, before the tears began to slowly drip down his face. He embraced her back. "I'm... sorry." he managed inbetween sobs. She said nothing, holding him all the more tighter. And there the two knelt in the Valley of the End, embracing each other with tears streaming down their cheeks. The battle for Hikaru's very soul had been won. Perhaps for this one moment in time the Valley was a misnomer. For although this was the end of the path of vengeance for Hikaru, it was the start of a new life. |

Otogakure Battlefield Lavan snickered quite loudly at Sayuri's comment. How long ago was it that he would have exploded in rage at such a comment and tried to fry her? How long ago was it that he was so unstable, so childish, so immature? And when was it that he really began to understand that accepting one's weakness was a part of growing in strength? It seemed such a short time ago, yet he knew that it wasn't at all. His childishness died with Voyager, and now, he was free from all control and all competition. Well... Hostile competition. He still had to kick Musashi's butt for beating him in the exams. "You know it, Sayuri-chan!" He tapped his temple with the very hand he had been holding up, grinning. "The air in this head here ain't getting no hotter, and I'm wondering if I will fly away any second! It sure feels like it!" But the biggest surprise came when Musashi showed up in an explosion of smoke, looking all the worse for the wear, but alive and fine as though he has just done something as big as Lavan, if not bigger. Well... Maybe not bigger. Really, it doesn't get any bigger than finally wiping Uchiha Itachi off the face of the earth. That can only be matched by wiping a Bijuu off the face of the earth. "MUSASHIIIII!!! You look like hell!" Lavan again moved, getting right up to Musashi and spinning himself so he caught Musashi into a sudden headlock, his other fist rubbing the knuckles into the back of the head. "It's almost been TOO long, man! Cry uncle!" He grinned up at Sayuri. "You know what? This IS fun!" Of course, he was tired. Hoe he still had the energy to move, much less grin and smile and be a ball of sunshine was anyone's guess. Heck, even his fire winked out moments ago because he did not have enough chakra to keep it up. However, in the happiness of the moment, one could understand why he was so energetic. He was truly happy, for one of the less-than-common moments of his life, and he expressed that happiness the only was he could: through lots of actions. He then gave Nanami a wink and continued tormenting the head of the 16-year-old under his armpit. "Musashi, you better brace for when we're both at full strength again, I need to kick your ass for beating me in the exams! And dude, did I get better! Heck, we kicked ITACHI'S butt so bad he kissed that red moon he always makes you see with his stupid spinny eyes. His face was PRICELESS..." |
