Mathers banned for 3 matches

Quote:

Wigan's Richard Mathers has been banned for three matches by the Rugby Football League for his high tackle on Warrington's Matt King.

Mathers, who earned the first red card of his career for the incident which left the Australian winger badly concussed, was also fined £300.

But team-mate Trent Barrett has avoided a ban for his spear tackle on Paul Johnson in the same game.

Full Story Here

What a suprise, Barrett been let off just because he's there most influential player! <eyeroll>

Only ONE Lee Briers!!

im glad Mathers got this even though imo he deserved a lot more!! <ban>

it was a really bad tackle and Matt King was out straight away... people have been saying "oh it was just a lazy swinging arm"

it wasnt... if it was, Mathers wouldnt of left the ground and jumped on Matt King.. would he..??!!

and as for Trent Barrett i dont think the incident was as bad as it was made out to be, but i think he should have got at least 1 game!!
