I think its a good thing. Why should I have to breath in other peoples smoke? I dont smoke myself so i have no need to be around them. |

Yeah its personal choice, but Helen has made a very valid point. Why should we breathe in other peoples smoke? Smoking is bad in restaurants and in bars, people dont want to breathe it in, and as a non-smoker im glad that it is going through. |

I was talking to my mate about this and she has just become assistant manager of a bar and she said she doesnt want it to happen as if she asks a group of people who are smoking to stop and they refuse and she is in the middle of asking them to leave her bar will still get fined |

It will put some people who are in the catering and pub industry in very akward positions that is for sure. Obviously everybody will know where they stand with the new laws due out but it still may not stop some customers and they could refuse and/or get personal to the staff, when they're only doing they're jobs. It will happen all over the UK, and it wont be stopped. Dicko. |

At uni we have been having whole lessons on how companys will have to change due to the smoking ban and to be honest its not that easy to just say sorry no smoking in here, there need to make provisions to keep customers they have that enjoy a drink and a cig and companies are spending millions on outside areas for people to smoke. As pubs are putting provisions in for smokers and they will be able to smoke outside in heated areas and whatever i dont think actually it will have much impact on people quitting. just those small pubs who cant change because of the ban will close because of lost business. I dont know i could just be talking pants. |

If there's one thing you shouldnt do in life, its try and teach an American how to play the greatest game in the world, Rugby League!!!!!!!! Let them stick to football, coz then they throw the ball forward, and they dont have to ground the ball either!!!!! | |

Good, about time the government got off their backsides and addressed it, I think it is a horrible habit. It kills you and others, harms the atmosphere etc. |
