 How far did you get with collecting them cards??

Yesterday I was thinking about what to get a friend for her birthday, which is coming up pretty soon. It came to my mind that she still collects pokemon cards, so I went on Ebay.

I knew she really wanted that Jumbo Dark Lugia card (the one that's not Tournament legal and has 300 HP) so looked for it. I found it but it was pretty pricey, so I decided to go with the birthday theme and ordered that rare Promo Birthday Pikachu card instead. I just know she's gonna like that.

Well, seeing I always wanted to have that card myself as a little kid, I ordered one for myself too. xD

Anyhoo, this sorta triggered something in me wanting to complete my collection, just 1 card of every pokemon. For the 1st gen. I just need Venusaur and the 3 Legendary birds, and for the second gen I only need 8 cards to get a card of every pokemon up till number 251. From 3rd Gen. and onward this is going to be a pain. It's always been bugging me that I never completed my collection, but oh well.

So how was your collection coming along before you quit, or are you still collecting?

 I would estimate that I have most of the holographic cards for the first three sets, and a lot of rares from them all. The Neo sets looks like that as well. The first of the e series has a lot of holographics, reverse foils, and rares. I have a bit of each of the other e series cards, Team Rocket (first set), Base 2, Legendaries and everything set after the first e series set.

I have quite a bit of promos, especially the Southern Islands ones.

My nephew recently gave me a holographic Mismagius.
