What was the point of the Ron/Lavender relationship? What led up to it? Why didn't ROn break it off? What is the difference between before lavender Ron/Hermione and post Lavender Ron/Hermione? Or is there no differences? Does this relationship make Ron and Hermione's relationship stronger? Did Ron and Hermione have THE talk with one another? Are Ron and Hermione together at the end of the book? Discuss, Analyze, Comment! I will put my response after someone else has. |

What led up to it? Teenage hormones cause girls to flirt, Ron may have done this to get Hermione's attention Why didn't ROn break it off? a girl's wrath is a scary thing, he wanted her to do it, not him What is the difference between before lavender Ron/Hermione and post Lavender Ron/Hermione? Or is there no differences? Hermione now realizes that ron won't be available forever, just as ron realized this about hermione after the yule ball. Does this relationship make Ron and Hermione's relationship stronger? it should Did Ron and Hermione have THE talk with one another? which 'the talk' are we talking about? if it's the 'let's stay friends' talk, than no, but if it's the 'let's get together, see what happens' talk, than yes, defenitely Are Ron and Hermione together at the end of the book? I think that they should, we can only hope. And that is my input on this thread...any other questions, go ahead and ask. ^-^ |

What was the point of the Ron/Lavender relationship? Well alot of people say hormones, and there right because Ron is a teenage boy and the boy does have sexual frustration to the extreme. However, in thinking about a more philosophical manner I believe that Lavender Brown is a blessing not a curse for Ron/Hermione. Why? Because Lavender Brown made Ron grow up, and it is the truth there is nothing like a bad or a superficial relationship to make you realize you need to grow and get what you want. Ron needed to learn that relationships aren't meant to be superficial, that jealousy gets you no where, and Ron just needed to grow up in general. Laveder provided the necessary push for Ron to finally get it--and I mean really get it. If Ron and Hermione went to Slughorn's party I don't think they would of lasted because Ron would be a lousy boyfriend, but now they are both on equal footing, finally on the same page, and they are both mature. So thank Lavender, don't hate on her lol. What led up to it? Many things--miscommunication is the big one. Ron needed to hear compliments and approval from Hermione and he wasn't getting it. Hermione needed compliments and approval and she was getting it. They both don't talk about thier feelings with Harry, so they definitely don'w with eachother. Ron went to Lavender because he was hurt, jealous, insecure, and horny. Plain and simple. But they both realize they need to talk and they need to be patient with one another. Why didn't ROn break it off? At first it was because Hermione was pissed at him and he felt no need to break it off with Lavender. However, she became real clingy real fast but he didn't want the scene or the tears. He wanted the relationship to fall a part of have her break it off with him. Ron's a coward in the love department, which is why he needs to make the big gesture to Hermione. What is the difference between before lavender Ron/Hermione and post Lavender Ron/Hermione? Or is there no differences? There was a huge difference which leads me to believe that there was some kind of intimate talk about feelings. I don't know if it's official but they both understand one another and it wasn't a understanding reached by silence. They talked, and it was a good talk. Before Lavender Ron rarely touched Hermione--they were not physical and if they were Ron would get awkward. After Lavender Ron was finding excuses to touch her and felt comfortable doing it. 1. Hiding behind Hermione which is logically stupid lol. 2. Brushing off snow from Hermione, Hermione grabing his wrist. And other subtle touches and then the big one the funeral scene. There's an intimacy that was never there before now where Hermione can be vulnerable with Ron and Ron vulnerable with her. Another thing that was different well it started in OOTP where they start talking in "WE" but after HBP it was "WE" all the damn time. The last words were "Ron and Hermione" in the book. Good sign in my thinking. And lastly they are bickering less and starting to flirt in the grown up manner now. They are being more patient with one another, and understanding one another. THEY HAD A TALK MAN. AND WE DIDN'T SEE IT!!! ANSWER MORE LATER!! Does this relationship make Ron and Hermione's relationship stronger? Did Ron and Hermione have THE talk with one another? Are Ron and Hermione together at the end of the book? |
