![]() Or put another way: bIQongtaHvIS nItlhejchugh targhmey; bIvemDI' nItlhej ghIlab ghewmey. Try to create a little phlegm in the throat for the full on effect. Now you're talking (Klingon)! Always handy when visiting another planet, I find. Translated to a rather dull and inferior language: "If you sleep with targs, you'll wake up with glob flies."

Nah, I'll stick to speed cycling down severe inclines. Got to a point a few weeks back on a 20 plus percent descent where I couldn't actually see what was happening - and the noise!! Despite protective wrap-arounds my eyeballs were watering and wobbling badly. Quite funny at the time, rather than scary. I must have hit 50 - 55 mph on two skinny wheels. The road surface looked a sort of blurred smooth grey. Everytime I lifted my head my cycle helmet lifted and shifted backwards. There were a couple of guys giving me a strange look at the bottom of the hill, stood by their ute. They didn't say much - one had a dropped jaw. Guess it doesn't happen very often. My brother came down the Toowoomba range once (Dave will know this one) and was overtaking the traffic! He nearly lost it a couple of times - would have been real nasty. Once he got to the bottom he was off the bike and shaking nervously. I don't think cycles are allowed on that road, for good reason. |

Oh no you wouldn't! I've been down a few in my youth on a skateboard and when the wobbles start there's no controlling them. Can get real nasty. Took my new bike out this morning into the hills. Just goes to show you what the power of haggling can get you. It's a Merida T3 Speeder. Orig price $1349. Reduced to $1199 in the shop before I even got there. Further reduced by 10% because I found a tiny shallow dent on the frame. The guys at Goldcross Cycles in Maroochydore were ever so helpful. Ask for Dennis in particular. I tried out a few models over a couple of weeks including a racing bike as my old mountain bike has been groaning badly almost to the point of collapse. Figured I'd got up to a level of fitness to move into a road bike with taller gearing now and less bike weight to haul around. Knocked a whole 5 minutes off my first climb of the day, today over 6km and 10% gradient. Well chuffed!
